Nickelodeon UK to Premiere 'Goldie’s Oldies' on Monday 15th March 2021

Nickelodeon UK & Ireland will premiere Goldie’s Oldies, a brand new live action comedy series in March 2021!


Goldie’s Oldies will premiere on Nickelodeon UK & Ireland on Monday 15th March 2021 at 5:30pm, just before the UK & Irish premiere of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 at 6:00pm! Fans will also be able to catch a replay of the first episode of Goldie’s Oldies straight after the 2021 KCAs at 7:30pm.

Following launch, fans can tune into more all new episodes of Goldie’s Oldies weekdays at 5:30pm. Each new episode will encore the same night at 7:30pm, and the following weekday morning at 8:30am and 11:30am.

Announced in October 2019, Goldie’s Oldies is a brand new live action comedy series, and the first original commission made exclusively for Nickelodeon International’s channels and platforms in more than 170 territories outside the U.S.

Goldie’s Oldies focuses on the life of teenager Goldie, whose life is turned upside down when her family - Sherri and Danny - moves from the U.S. to England to live with their Grandpa Maury and his ‘70 something’ room mates.

Goldie’s Oldies, a 20 x 22 minute live action situation comedy filmed in studio and on location, is produced by ViacomCBS’s in-house BAFTA-winning production arm, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) UK, marking the studio’s first move into scripted comedy, first commission for Nickelodeon and a significant step into children’s TV production, following previous work for Channel 5’s multiplatform preschool brand, Milkshake!. The series is distributed by VIS Kids.

Goldie’s Oldies, which has an eleven strong global writing team, begun filming in January 2020 and is set to air across Nickelodeon’s international channels in 2021.

VIS UK produced the series out of Manchester, expanding upon the launch of VIS UK’s first regional office at Salford’s dock10 MediaCity UK earlier this year. Goldie’s Oldies will tap into a number of local filming resources, including local on- and off-screen talent, studios, equipment and locations. Filming took place in 2020, briefly taking a break due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Goldie’s Oldies was created by Evan Thaler Hickey (Top Wing, Go Away , Unicorn!, The Magic School Bus Rides Again) and the head writer is Mark Oswin (Hunter Street, So Awkward). It will be executive produced for VIS UK by Trevor Klein.

With over a dozen Kids’ Choice Awards wins, Bieber leads the pack with five nominations this year: three in the category of “Favorite Music Collaboration” for his songs “Holy” featuring Chance the Rapper, “Lonely” with benny blanco, and “Stuck with U” with Ariana Grande; one for “Favorite Song” for “Yummy;” and one for “Favorite Male Artist.”

After closing out 2020 with three smash singles - “Holy” with Chance the Rapper, “Lonely” with benny blanco, and “Monster” with Shawn Mendes-Bieber rang in the new year with a brand-new single “Anyone,” and his return to the live stage in a blow-out NYE livestreamed concert. He continues to reign as one of the biggest artists in the world: the #1 artist on YouTube with 60+ million subscribers, the #2 artist on Spotify global with over 65 million monthly listeners, over 200 million in combined U.S. radio audience per week, three tracks in the Billboard Top 40, and three Grammy nominations and an American Music Award for his 2020 album Changes.

We love the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, all those orange blimps and copious amounts of slime...

The next awards is due to take place on Saturday March 13 and global superstar, Justin Bieber, has been announced as the headline act.

Great news for Beliebers who will get to watch the Grammy Award-winning global superstar take to the stage to sing all his mega hits including Beauty and a Beat, Love Yourself and Intentions.

“The Kids’ Choice Awards was my first awards show and returning to share my new music is a full-circle moment,” said Bieber.

“Although the show may look different this year, the KCA’s are always a ton of fun and there will definitely be no shortage of slime!”

Bieber already has a dozen Kids’ Choice Awards wins, and this year leads the pack with five nominations: three in the category of Favorite Music Collaboration for his songs Holy featuring Chance the Rapper, Lonely with benny blanco, and Stuck with U with Ariana Grande; one for Favorite Song for Yummy; and one for Favorite Male Artist.

2021 Aussie/Kiwi Legend Of The Year Nominees Announced.

Actor, comedian and Saturday Night Live legend Kenan Thompson will take kids on a wild and slimy ride as host of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021, when the award show premieres on Monday, March 15, at 6pm (AEDT).

With Thompson at the helm, kids and families everywhere will literally be part of this year’s show like never before, celebrating fan-favourite stars across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more.

For the first time ever, Nickelodeon’s Orange Blimp will leave the KCA venue and take fans on a wild ride around the world and beyond. Filled with slime and messy stunts, viewers will travel to outer space, Bikini Bottom and right into celebrities’ homes using XR technology. This year’s show will also feature live and interactive fan walls that bring celebrities and families at home to the main stage; second screen live voting all night long where fans stay in control; and a KCA award presented by one lucky family chosen during the show.

Beginning today, fans can cast votes at nick.com.au/KCA, or via twitter.

Leading the pack with the most nods are: Justin Bieber with five; Stranger Things with four; and Ariana Grande, The Croods: A New Age, Henry Danger, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Soul, Trolls World Tour and Wonder Woman 1984, all tied with three nominations each. Musical performances will be announced shortly.

Kids across Australia and New Zealand can also vote for their favourite “Aussie/Kiwi Legend of the Year”, which sees NBA star Paddy Mills up against Brisbane born actor Jacob Elordi (The Kissing Booth), Perth social media star Lauren Curtis as well as artists G Flip and Savannah Clarke (Now United), who is also nominated for “Favourite Global Music Star”.

Thompson is no stranger to Nickelodeon, having won a coveted Kids’ Choice Awards orange blimp for “Favourite Male TV Star” for his work in Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy hit All That in 2000. He was also nominated in that same category in 1998 alongside his longtime collaborator Kel Mitchell, who both serve as executive producers for the current iteration of All That which premiered in 2019.

Thompson said: “Nickelodeon has been part of my life and my family forever and I can’t wait to host this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards. Am I worried about getting slimed? Naaaah. It’s going to come fast and cold, but it’s not my first rodeo–you know what I’m saying? So, bring on the slime and let’s do this!”

YuMe, ViacomCBS Ink Deal for Baby Shark Infant Toys and Accessories

YuMe is jumping into the water with Pinkfong's Baby Shark.


The growing toymaker inked a deal with ViacomCBS Consumer Products and SmartStudy to create and market a new collection of infant products based on the viral sensation-turned preschool brand. YuMe’s Pinkfong Baby Shark line will include bath toys, playmats, stroller accessories, rattles, and gift sets.

“We are delighted to partner with ViacomCBS, to expand the phenomenal Baby Shark brand with products for infants through to toddlers, says Michael Kwan, CEO at Maxx Group/YuMe Toys. “It was exciting to get our teeth into creating designs with parents and ‘gifters’ of little ones in mind. The line has been well received, and we look forward to making a splash at retail.”

YuMe’s Baby Shark line will hit retail across the U.S. this fall.

Nickelodeon will debut Baby Shark’s Big Show! in the U.S. on Friday, March 26 at 12:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The 26-episode, half-hour series will be preceded by Baby Shark Shorts, a collection of five mini-adventures that will debut this Friday.

Based on the world-famous pop culture phenomenon and co-produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio and SmartStudy, the global entertainment company behind the beloved children’s brand Pinkfong, Baby Shark’s Big Show! is a 2D-animated series that follows Baby Shark and his best friend William as they journey on fun-filled comedic adventures in their community of Carnivore Cove, meet new friends and sing original catchy tunes along the way.

Following the U.S. launch, Baby Shark’s Big Show! series will roll out on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels and blocks internationally.

In addition to Nickelodeon and SmartStudy’s partnership to produce Baby Shark’s Big Show!, ViacomCBS Consumer Products (VCP) is managing consumer products licensing worldwide, excluding China, Korea and Southeast Asia, for the Baby Shark property.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--Feb. 2, 2021--Actor, comedian and Saturday Night Live legend Kenan Thompson (Kenan, All That) will take kids on a wild and slimy ride as host of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021, airing live on Saturday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).  With Thompson at the helm, kids and families everywhere will literally be part of this year’s show like never before for an epic celebration of fan-favorite stars across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more. Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 will simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and the Nick Jr. channel in the U.S. and YTV in Canada.

Said Thompson, “Nickelodeon has been part of my life and my family forever and I can’t wait to host this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards. Am I worried about getting slimed? Naaaah. It’s going to come fast and cold, but it’s not my first rodeo--you know what I’m saying? So, bring on the slime and let’s do this!”


For the first time ever, Nickelodeon’s Orange Blimp will leave the KCA venue and take fans on a wild ride around the world and beyond. Filled with slime and messy stunts, viewers will travel to outer space, Bikini Bottom and right into celebrities’ homes using XR technology. This year’s show will also feature live and interactive fan walls that bring celebrities and families at home to the main stage; second screen live voting all night long where fans stay in control; and a KCA award presented by one lucky family chosen during the show.

Today’s news also included this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards nominees.  Leading the pack with the most nods are: Justin Bieber with five; Stranger Things with four; and Ariana Grande, The Croods: A New Age, Henry Danger, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Soul, Trolls World Tour and Wonder Woman 1984, all tied with three nominations each. Musical performances will be announced shortly.


Beginning today, fans can cast votes on the official Kids’ Choice Awards website, KidsChoiceAwards.com, and on the Screens Up app on supported iPad, iPhone and Android devices in the U.S. International fans can cast votes at kca.nick.tv as well as through the Nick Play app in regions where it is available. Fans will also be able to cast their votes through social media on Twitter.

Thompson is no stranger to Nickelodeon, having won a coveted Kids’ Choice Awards orange blimp for “Favorite Male TV Star” for his work in Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy hit All That in 2000. He was also nominated in that same category in 1998 alongside his longtime collaborator Kel Mitchell, who both serve as executive producers for the current iteration of All That which premiered in 2019.

Netflix to Add 'Big Time Rush' on Friday, March 26, 2021

Netflix are going Big Time!


Netflix will be adding all 4 seasons of Big Time Rush on Friday, March 26, 2021, brining all 74 episodes of Nickelodeon's beloved musical comedy series to the streaming service! It's currently unknown whether it'll also include the TV movie inspired by the series, Big Time Movie.

In Big Time Rush, four best friends from Minnesota trade in their hockey sticks and high-school life for the opportunity of a lifetime: pursue pop music stardom in Los Angeles as a boy band. Discovered as a solo singer, Kendall has no interest in leaving his Midwest life behind, so he agrees to take part in "pop group" training in exchange for the record company allowing his three buddies -- James, Logan and Carlos -- a chance to make it with him as a group. They live in a swanky housing development, but the boys soon find life in Hollywood is not all about the parties and girls, and if they are to make it in the big time, it will only come from hard work, dedication -- and the support of one another.

Big Time Rush stars Kendall Schmidt as Kendall Knight, Carlos PenaVega as Carlos Garcia, James Maslow as James Diamond, Logan Henderson as Logan Mitchell, Ciara Bravo as Katie Knight, Stephen Kramer Glickman as Gustavo Rocque, Tanya Chisholm as Kelly Wainwright, Challen Cates as Jennifer Knight, Erin Sanders as Camille Roberts, Katelyn Tarver as Jo Taylor, and Malese Jow as Lucy Stone.

Over the course of its four-season run, the actors’ lives mimicked that of their onscreen characters. Both on- and off-screen, multiple Big Time Rush albums were released, sold-out tours were embarked on, and millions of fans, also known as Rushers, were made.

The news follows Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos hosting a series of virtual reunions during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included releasing new renditions of two of their hit songs, "Worldwide" and "Beautiful Christmas" - and it's speculated that the boys will be treating fans to new music later this year.

The news also follows Netflix recently adding iCarly and Henry Danger earlier this year, and Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra in 2020. All four series became instant hits on the streamer.

It is thought that, similar to iCarly, Henry Danger, Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, Big Time Rush will continue to remain available to stream on Paramount+.

Nickelodeon Germany, Austria and Switzerland Announces Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 Host, Local Nominees

Hosted by actor, comedian and Saturday Night Live legend Kenan Thompson (All That, Kenan & Kel, Good Burger, Kenan), Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 will air live in the U.S. on Saturday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT), simulcast across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and the Nick Jr. channel. Following it's U.S. debut, the special will roll out onto Nickelodeon channels internationally, including on Nickelodeon channels in Deutschland, Austria (Österreich) and Switzerland (Schweiz) on Monday 15th March 2021 at 19:00 Uhr!

Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2021: Voting gestartet

Berlin, 3. Februar 2021 – Es wird wieder schleimig bei Nickelodeon – am 13. März 2021 steigt die große Party rund um die amerikanischen Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA). Dieses Jahr wird Schauspieler, Comedian, Saturday Night Live-Legende und Kids’ Choice Award-Träger Kenan Thompson als Gastgeber die Zuschauer*innen mit auf eine wilde Slime-Reise nehmen.

Die Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards 2021 werden hierzulande am 15. März ab 19:00 Uhr bei Nick zu sehen sein.

Auch in diesem Jahr können die Kids neben den internationalen Stars wieder für ihre größten Lieblinge aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum voten. Zu den Nominierten aus TV, Film, Musik und weiteren Kategorien zählen unter anderen Lena, Zoe Wees, Mark Forster, Toni Kroos und Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim.

Ab sofort können Fans ihre Stimme auf der offiziellen Kids‘ Choice Awards-Website https://kca.nick.de/ für die internationalen und deutschsprachigen Stars abgeben.

Die Show

Erstmals in der Geschichte der KCAs werden Kinder und Familien aus der ganzen Welt buchstäblich Teil der Show sein und gemeinsam ihre Lieblinge aus Kategorien wie Film, Fernsehen, Musik, Sport und mehr feiern. Dafür verlässt der bekannte Orange Blimp das KCA-Gelände in Los Angeles und nimmt die Fans mit auf eine wilde Fahrt rund um die Welt und darüber hinaus. Gefüllt mit Slime und chaotischen Stunts werden die Zuschauer*innen mit Hilfe der XR-Technologie ins Weltall, nach Bikini Bottom und direkt in die Häuser der prominenten Gäste reisen. Die diesjährige Show wird interaktive Screenwalls bieten, die Prominente und Familien zu Hause auf die Hauptbühne bringen. Zudem findet am Showtag ein Second-Screen-Live-Voting statt, bei dem die Fans die Show mitbestimmen können. Des Weiteren gibt es einen besonderen KCA-Award, der von einer glücklichen Familie, die während der Show gewählt wird, überreicht wird. Die musikalischen Live-Performances der Show werden in Kürze angekündigt.

Nun steht fest, welche internationalen und deutschsprachigen Stars für die diesjährigen Kids‘ Choice Awards nominiert wurden. Führend mit den meisten Nominierungen sind: Justin Bieber (5), die Serie Stranger Things und Ariana Grande (jeweils 4), sowie Die Croods – Alles auf Anfang, Henry Danger (auch in Deutschland, Österreich und Schweiz zweifach nominiert), High School Musical: Das Musical: Die Serie, Soul, Trolls World Tour und Wonder Woman 1984, die alle mit jeweils drei Nominierungen gleichauf liegen.

Milkshake! (UK) to Premiere 'Pip and Posy' Soon

UK - Channel 5's Milkshake! will be premiering the brand new CG-animated preschool series Pip and Posy. very soon! Check out the launch teaser trailer below!


Pip and Posy (52 x 7-minute episodes) follows a mouse and a rabbit whose lives revolve around a wonderful world of play. Packed with warmth and humour, the series is a joyful celebration of their great friendship, its laughter and games, its ups and downs. The series deals with emotions, resilience and feelings in a relatable way for preschoolers to learn about themselves, all centred on creative play from a child’s point of view.

The show will premiere exclusively on Channel 5’s free-to-air strand Milkshake! and Sky’s on-demand service Sky Kids in the U.K. Multiple Oscar-nominated Magic Light Pictures (The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, Revolting Rhymes and recent hit The Snail and The Whale) is producing, with animation services provided by Blue Zoo (Digby Dragon, It’s Pony). Pip and Posy marks the first co-production between Channel 5 parent company ViacomCBS and Sky. The series was originally announced in March 2020.

Pip and Posy is based on characters from Nosy Crow’s popular collection of story books by multi award-winning illustrator Axel Scheffler and author Camilla Reid. The show is Magic Light’s first ever preschool series and sees the continuation of the production company’s 13 year association with Scheffler, which has produced seven high-profile animated specials based on his hugely successful book collaborations with author Julia Donaldson.



Pip and Posy will also air on Nick Jr. UK & Ireland in 2022.

The series teaches preschoolers the importance of friendship and societal wellbeing through imaginative storytelling and creative play,” said Louise Bucknole, Vice President (VP) Programming Kids, ViacomCBS Networks U.K. “We have a long-running and close relationship with Sky, so it’s very exciting to have commissioned our first co-production together, enabling us to bring the very best of British animation to Milkshake! from world class producers Magic Light Pictures.”

This addition to Sky Kids, plus our recent raft of original commissions, demonstrates our ambition to feature a range of premium British programming for under-twelves. We bring our customers the very best kids TV alongside our partner channels and this co-production with Milkshake! evolves our close relationship with ViacomCBS.”

“We’re really excited to be producing our first-ever preschool series and proud to be working with Milkshake! and Sky,” said Michael Rose, co-founder of Magic Light Pictures. “Axel Scheffler creates truly enchanting worlds and we can’t wait for viewers to join Pip and Posy for their fun and adventures.”

Pip and Posy has been jointly commissioned by Bucknole for Milkshake! and Murphy for Sky Kids with the participation of ZDF, Germany. The series is executive produced by Michael Rose and Martin Pope and produced by Vici King for Magic Light Pictures. The showrunner at Magic Light is Jeroen Jaspaert (Stick Man, The Highway Rat) and Blue Zoo’s director is Matthew Tea.

Magic Light Pictures holds the global distribution and merchandising rights to Pip and Posy (excluding publishing) and is developing a full licensing program to complement the new series.

Last 2019, Milkshake! pledged to double its content investment, which will lead to 50 new U.K.-originated hours per year from 2021.

Sky Kids offers families 11 kids’ channels and over 5,000 episodes of on-demand viewing as well as the Sky Kids app, a safe space for younger kids focused content, games and art tools with parental controls including a sleep mode so parents can moderate screen time. This is complemented by the pin protected Safe Mode on Sky Q, so there’s no danger of children straying into any areas of content that are not right for them.

Nickelodeon has released a new spongeriffic sneak peek at the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants movie Sponge on the Run, premiering Thursday, March 4 on Paramount+!


The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run sees best friends SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star venture out of Bikini Bottom and head to the Lost City of Atlantic City on a rescue mission to save SpongeBob’s trustee snail Gary.

In Sponge on the Run, after SpongeBob’s beloved pet snail Gary is snail-napped, he and Patrick embark on an epic adventure to The Lost City of Atlantic City to bring Gary home. As they navigate the delights and dangers on this perilous and hilarious rescue mission, SpongeBob and his pals prove there’s nothing stronger than the power of friendship.

Sponge on the Run sees the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants reprise their respective roles: Tom Kenny (SpongeBob and Gary), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Douglas Lawrence (Plankton), Jill Talley (Karen), Mary Jo Catlett (Mrs. Puff), and Lori Alan (Pearl). An actor named Antonio Raul Corbo voices young SpongeBob at Camp Coral.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run features a raft of guest stars, including: Keanu Reeves (as a tumbleweed named Sage), Awkwafina (as Otto), Matt Berry (as King Poseidon), Reggie Watts (as the  Chancellor), Danny Trejo (as El Diablo), Tiffany Haddish (as Master of Ceremonies) and Snoop Dog (as The Gambler; a Zombie Cowboy). Cyndi Lauper (The SpongeBob Musical) has written original songs for the film.

Based on the TV series created by Stephen Hillenburg, The SpongeBob Movie is written and directed by Tim Hill, and produced by Ryan Harris, with Stephen Hillenburg exec producing. Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies present, in association with MRC A United Plankton Pictures production.

Its the third SpongeBob film, after 2004’s The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and 2015’s The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. Those movies were commercially successful, earning over $450 million globally combined.

The movie will be joined by SpongeBob prequel series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years.

Sponge on the Run, was originally planned to be released in theaters during summer 2020, however, due to the on-going COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Paramount moved the released to digital. The only country that in which Sponge on the Run enjoyed a theatrical run was in Canada.

The news Netflix releasing The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run internationally in November 2020.
