Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020

Airs live: Sunday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and the Nick Jr. channel


Grammy® Award-winning superstar Chance the Rapper is set to host Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020, the biggest and slimiest awards show where kids are in control, broadcasting live Sunday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The news, which also included this year’s nominees, was announced today by Annie LeBlanc and her sister Hayley LeBlanc, stars of Nickelodeon’s digital competition show Annie vs. Hayley, during a Kids’ Choice Awards nomination event across Nick’s YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter handles and channels.

With surprises at every turn, Chance the Rapper will bring his charisma and upbeat energy to the Kids’ Choice Awards, an epic celebration of kids’ favorite stars across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more. Viewers everywhere will be able to experience the show on all Nickelodeon screens and platforms, as Nick offers a front-row seat to slime, stunts and celebrities. Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 will be simulcast live across Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and the Nick Jr. channel.

Leading into the award show, Nickelodeon SlimeFest, a two-day family-friendly music festival, will make its west coast debut on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The event features performances by Nickelodeon star and YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa, breakout pop group Why Don’t We, Grammy® Award-nominated multiplatinum artist French Montana, viral chart-topper Blanco Brown and singer/ventriloquist Darci Lynne. This year’s Nickelodeon SlimeFest will feature a Sunday-only VIP ticket that includes access to a special performance viewing area, plus admission to Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020. All Sunday attendees will also have the opportunity to watch a livestream of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 on the festival screens.

Fans can cast votes on the official Kids’ Choice Awards website, www.KidsChoiceAwards.com, and on the Screens Up app on supported iPad, iPhone and Android devices in the U.S. International fans can cast votes via their local Nickelodeon website and through the Nick Play app in regions where it is available. Fans will also be able to cast their votes through social media on Twitter.

Danger Force - New Show

Nickelodeon is expanding the world of the number-one kids’ series, Henry Danger, with the launch of Danger Force, a brand-new original live-action spinoff premiering Saturday, March 28, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). Created and executive produced by Christopher J. Nowak (Henry Danger, Sam & Cat), the new series stars two of the most beloved characters from Henry Danger, “Ray/Captain Man” (Cooper Barnes) and “Schwoz” (Michael D. Cohen), and introduces four new superheroes-in-training as they team up to fight crime in their town of Swellview. Danger Force (13 episodes) is produced by Barnes and Jace Norman (Henry Danger), and production for the series is currently underway.

In Danger Force, four kids--Chapa (Havan Flores), Miles (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Mika (Dana Heath) and Bose (Luca Luhan)--are recruited to attend Swellview Academy for the Gifted (SW.A.G. for short), a school conceived by Captain Man and brought to life by Schwoz, after having been accidentally mutated in the fight to save Swellview. While there, the kids must learn to harness their frequently troublesome and sometimes uncontrollable superpowers as they begin to fight crime. Despite the dangerous circumstances of their new lives, the superheroes must keep their real identities a secret from both from their families and the villains who are out to destroy them. Danger Force’s four brand-new superheroes-in-training will be introduced in the final episodes of Henry Danger.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 24, kids will be able to familiarize themselves with the new Danger Force characters through the Nickelodeon Screens Up app and at JoinDangerForce.com with special games, trivia, galleries and more. When playing along during new episodes of Danger Force, users will be able to unlock special content and enter sweepstakes to win exclusive prize packs and a walk on role.

Egal ob Serien und Filme für die ganze Familie, Dance-Moves mit JoJo, oder ein extra langer Marathon unserer Fellfreunde – Nick hat auch in den kommenden beiden Monaten wieder für jeden Geschmack etwas auf Lager und zeigt im Februar und März direkt mehrere TV-Premieren.

Kartoffelsalat – Nicht fragen!

Zur Feier des Kinostarts von ‚Kartoffelsalat 3 – Das Musical‘ am 30. Januar 2020 zeigt Nick mit der TV-Premiere von ‚Kartoffelsalat – Nicht fragen!‘ den Beginn der zweiteiligen Trilogie. Dabei geben sich die größten Namen der deutschen YouTube Szene die Klinke in die Hand, alles im gewohnt ungewohntem Stil von Freshtorge und Otto Waalkes.

Darum geht’s: Leo Weiß hat nach einem Schulwechsel und typischen Teenager-Problemen eigentlich schon genug um die Ohren. Als obendrein dann jedoch noch ein Zombie Virus ausbricht, liegt es an ihm diesen Schlamassel wieder gerade zu biegen. ‚Kartoffelsalat – Nicht fragen!‘ läuft am 01.02. um 17:05 bei Nick (18:00 Nick AT/CH).

Die Casagrandes

Die Spin-off-Serie des Emmy-Award-Gewinners ‚Willkommen bei den Louds‘ kommt im März nun endlich auch zu uns. ‚Die Casagrandes‘ erzählt die Geschichte der 11-jährigen – und bereits aus ‚Willkommen bei den Louds‘ bekannten – Ronnie Anne und begleitet sie bei ihren Abenteuern in einer neuen Stadt und dem ganz normalen Großfamilien-Wahnsinn. Dabei wird sie natürlich stets unterstützt durch viele neue Freunde, Nachbarn und ihre große, liebevolle Familie. ‚Die Casagrandes‘ läuft ab dem 30.03. montags bis freitags um 16:30 bei Nick (16:55 bei Nick AT/CH). Kartoffelsalat – Nicht fragen!

Zur Feier des Kinostarts von ‚Kartoffelsalat 3 – Das Musical‘ am 30. Januar 2020 zeigt Nick mit der TV-Premiere von ‚Kartoffelsalat – Nicht fragen!‘ den Beginn der zweiteiligen Trilogie. Dabei geben sich die größten Namen der deutschen YouTube Szene die Klinke in die Hand, alles im gewohnt ungewohntem Stil von Freshtorge und Otto Waalkes.

Darum geht’s: Leo Weiß hat nach einem Schulwechsel und typischen Teenager-Problemen eigentlich schon genug um die Ohren. Beim Sofakino zeigt Nick auch im Februar wieder die schönsten Familienfilme unserer Nickelodeon-Stars. Zu sehen gibt es in diesem Monat ‚Bixler High Private Eye‘ (am 08.02. um 17:05 bei Nick bzw. 18:00 bei Nick AT/CH) und ‚Rufus 2‘ (am 15.02. um 17:50 bei Nick bzw. 18:55 bei Nick AT/CH).

PAW Patrol

An drei Wochenenden gehört das Programm ganz den Kleinen, denn Nick zeigt alle Folgen der ersten beiden Staffeln ‚PAW Patrol‘ im Marathon Format. Seid dabei und begleitet Ryder und seine Gefährten bei ihren spannenden Missionen und klugen Rettungsaktionen rund um Adventure Bay. Die kompletten ersten beiden Staffeln gibt es am 22./23.02., sowie den beiden folgenden Wochenenden von 12:10 bis 19:40.

Im Februar zeigt Nick mit ‘JoJo’s Follow Your D.R.E.A.M’ (am 09.02. um 9:30 bei Nick bzw. 9:45 bei Nick AT/CH) und ‘JoJo’s D.R.E.A.M Concert’ (am 16.02. um 9:30 bei Nick bzw. 9:45 bei Nick AT/CH) gleich zwei TV-Premieren des quirligen Teenie-Stars. Setzt eure schönste Schleife auf und blickt mit JoJo hinter die Kulissen ihrer Tour und zurück auf die Anfänge ihrer Karriere.

Die Casagrandes

Die Spin-off-Serie des Emmy-Award-Gewinners ‚Willkommen bei den Louds‘ kommt im März nun endlich auch zu uns. ‚Die Casagrandes‘ erzählt die Geschichte der 11-jährigen – und bereits aus ‚Willkommen bei den Louds‘ bekannten – Ronnie Anne und begleitet sie bei ihren Abenteuern in einer neuen Stadt und dem ganz normalen Großfamilien-Wahnsinn. Dabei wird sie natürlich stets unterstützt durch viele neue Freunde, Nachbarn und ihre große, liebevolle Familie. ‚Die Casagrandes‘ läuft ab dem 30.03. montags bis freitags um 16:30 bei Nick (16:55 bei Nick AT/CH). Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland), Switzerland (Schweiz) and Austria (Österreich) are once again partnering with Europa-Park, Germany's largest amusement park, to host the third annual Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Nickelodeon GSA's localised version of Nickelodeon's 2020 Kids' Choice Awards!


Launched in 2018, Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz invites kids across Germany, Switzerland and Austria to vote and celebrate their local favourite stars from film, television, music and social media, with the winners receiving their Orange Blimp Awards at a super slimy event at Europa-Park in Rust in front of a audience of more than 1,000 children.

Hosted by Lisa & Lena for the second year in a row along with Jan Köppen (Ninja Warrior Germany), this years Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz will take place on Thursday 9th April 2020, and will give 2,800 kids the chance to see their favourite celebs walk the Orange Carpet and experience the slimiest party of the year!

As in 2018 and 2019, Nickelodeon is teaming up with MackMedia, Europa-Park's own production company, to film and produce a television special featuring all the slimy highlights from the show, which will air on Nickelodeon Deutschland, Nickelodeon Schweiz and Nickelodeon Österreich on Easter Sunday, 12th April 2020 at 19:00 Uhr.

Nickelodeon Deutschland, Nickelodeon Schweiz and Nickelodeon Österreich will also air the international edition of KCA 2020 on Monday, 23rd March 2020 at 19:00 Uhr!


Being hosted at Europa-Park allows Nickelodeon to take kid-favourite celebrities on the rides - and slimes - of their lives! In 2018, Henry Danger star Jace Norman and German model and a TV presenter Rebecca Mir took the "Roller Coaster Slime Challenge" on the Blue Fire Megacoaster, which culminated in a epic Nickelodeon sliming. This was followed in 2019 when singer-songwriter and Eurovision Song Contest winner Meyer-Landrut and German fashion model and television host Lena Gercke received Nickelodeon's highest honour on the Atlantica SuperSplash water ride. The newly opened indoor water park Rulantica could be the scene of this years epic sliming!

Die lokale Version der weltweit größten Preisverleihung von und für Kids wird zum zweiten Mal von den Social-Media-Lieblingen Lisa & Lena, die unter anderem 15,2 Mio. Follower auf Instagram haben, moderiert – diesmal zusammen mit TV-Host Jan Köppen, bekannt durch Ninja Warrior Germany.

Wenige Wochen bevor rund ums Osterwochenende wieder die Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz stattfinden, steigt schon die große, slimige Party in Los Angeles: Dieses Jahr ist der mit drei Grammy® Awards ausgezeichnete Musiker Chance The Rapper Gastgeber der Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards am Sonntag, 22. März 2020.

Neben dieser News wurden am gestrigen Abend von Sängerin und YouTube-Star Annie LeBlanc und ihrer Schwester Hayley LeBlanc während eines Livestream-Events die diesjährigen Nominierten bekanntgegeben.

An der Spitze der Liste mit den meisten Nominierungen für die US-amerikanischen KCAs stehen: Avengers: Endgame mit 11 Nominierungen, Taylor Swift mit fünf Nominierungen und Die Eiskönigin 2, Henry Danger sowie Lil Nas X mit jeweils vier Nominierungen. Nickelodeon, TEG Life Like Touring and VStar Entertainment Group today announced that the hugely popular PAW Patrol Live! will be returning to France in 2020! Based on the hit animated TV series on Nickelodeon Junior produced by Spin Master, PAW Patrol Live! brings everybody’s favourite pups back to the stage for an action-packed, high-energy, musical adventure where they come to the rescue!

Following over 100,000 tickets being sold during the show's inaugural tour of France in 2018, PAW Patrol Live! will commence its 2020 tour in Lille on Saturday 11th January 2020, before making its way across France, concluding in Montpellier on Sunday 26th April 2020. It has been a long time since Avatar: The Last Airbender made its way to television. The series lives on in comics and novels, but a solid 15 years have gone by since the world first met Aang and the Avatar gang. These days, the title is back in the news since Netflix is working on a live-action adaptation of the show, and one star is open to returning to the Fire Nation.


Recently, ComicBook.com got the chance to speak with Dante Basco (Hook) about his tenure with Avatar: The Last Airbender. The veteran voice actor played Zuko in the series, and his work at the prince was praised the world over. Speaking about the show's 15th anniversary, Basco opened up about the live-action Netflix series and whether he'd do a cameo.

"We'll see, we'll see," the actor said before discussing his place behind the scenes.

The vague answer isn't too surprising given how far out Netflix is from airing the series. So far, no casting has been confirmed for Avatar: The Last Airbender, but the show's creators have promised this adaptation will not go the way of its first, including having a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast.

As for Basco, fans would love to see the actor return to the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender but in person this time. A loving cameo would be enough for diehard fans of the fiery prince, so here's to hoping Netflix is down for such an easter egg!

Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko and airing between 2005 and 2008, Avatar: The Last Airbender, is set in world people can manipulate the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air, and they lived peacefully in different regions until one of the nations started a world war. One master who can manipulate all four elements, dubbed the "Avatar," had been able to prevent this war, but disappeared soon after. 100 years later, a new Avatar named Aang awakens and sets out on a journey to master all the elements in order to bring peace to the land once more by defeating Fire Lord Ozai and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.

The series managed to be such a hit with fans by combining amazing animated action set pieces with three dimensional interesting characters set in this magical fantasy world.

The animated series originally aired for 61 episodes over three seasons ("Books") originally on Nickelodeon, where it began in February 2005 and concluded in July 2008. The series was nominated for—and won—Annie Awards, Genesis Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Peabody Award.

Konietzko and DiMartino also created a follow-up series, The Legend of Korra, that returned to the world of Avatar years after Aang’s death to follow Korra, his successor as Avatar. That series ran between 2012-2014.

The stories of both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have continued on in graphic novel series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Star Dante Basco Needs the Series to Answer One Last Zuko Question

Avatar: The Last Airbender continues to be one of the most popular and beloved Nickelodeon animated series ever, and as it celebrates its 15th Anniversary, fans continue to ask for more. Although the original series received an official sequel taking place years after the events of the original with The Legend of Korra, and a few comic book outings exploring the characters a bit more, there are still quite a few questions fans have about how Aang and the other characters lived their lives following the end of that original series. It turns out some of the stars have questions too.

Speaking with ComicBook.com's Megan Peters, the star behind Zuko Dante Basco revealed some of the questions he'd like to see answered about Zuko's life following the end of the series. While some were answered with supplemental materials released after it ended, but he really wants to know about what happened with Zuko's love life.

As Basco explained, originally he had questions about the wherabouts of Zuko's mother, but those were answered in the comics, so that began to open up even more questions to him, "I mean I've kept up on the comics and whatnot, and Zuko's mom was a big question for a lot of people, and I love reading about it in the comics. My thing with Zuko is basically what happened to him and Mai, wrapping that relationship. Was he ever really in love with Katara[?] I'm always down to go back there. But those kind of things. Just fun, kind of, fun fan thing[s]."

Basco had an integral role in the original animated series, and it turns out that he has just as many questions as fans about how his character's future turned out. Basco truly cares deeply for Zuko even after all these years, and was wondering how the future live-action adaptation on Netflix will be shaping the character too. He was coy as to whether or not he's involved in the new series, but now fans know that Basco is thinking of all the fun fan theories along with the rest of us!

Dante Basco Shares His Thoughts on Netflix's Upcoming Take on Avatar: The Last Airbender

Nickelodeon hit it out of the park with Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the series is still just as fondly looked upon by fans as it was when it first debuted years ago. Now celebrating the franchise's 15th Anniversary, Avatar: The Last Airbender is still going to live on with a brand new live-action series coming to Netflix sometime in the near future. The creators behind the original animated series have been confirmed to return as showrunners for the new live-action adaptation, and various other crew members are starting to come together. But how do the stars of the original feel about the new series?

ComicBook.com's Megan Peters recently had the opportunity to sit with the star behind Zuko, Dante Basco, and Basco revealed his initial thoughts about the new live-action work. While he has faith in the original creators doing a great job, Basco is wondering how the new series will be approaching Zuko's layered story in the original.

As Basco explains, "...I know [Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko] are involved, so I have a lot of trust in something beautiful that they'll create. But as far as the new Zuko as they do the adaptation, it's really...You've got to remember his story. You start back to the beginning and the story of redemption, so you got to give him places to grow. You have to start one place and then another place."

Basco breaks down how surprisingly important Basco's hair is to his story of growth too, "As funny as the hair is in the story, it's real. It's like he goes from being a bald headed kid with a ponytail to the end with the meanders, it's part of his journey. You kind of got to start in a very extreme place, which means he's got a crazy place in life...Remember the story of redemption that's start him off in an unlikable place. His background to me were to be not like to really go through that."

So it sounds like Basco has faith in the new series, but like fans, is wondering just how it will portray the longer character arcs that the original animated series is so well known for. Avatar: Zuko Actor Dante Basco Shares His Favorite Story Arc

Perhaps there is no more complicated character in Avatar The Last Airbender than Zuko. The prince of the fire nation started his journey attempting win his way back into his father's good graces by re-capturing the Avatar, Aang, who had just awoken from an icy coma. Brought to life by voice actor Dante Basco, Zuko took a personal adventure that saw him completely changing his trajectory, turning against his father and the Fire Nation while also joining Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph. We had the opportunity to ask Dante what his favorite story line of Zuko's was throughout the entirety of Avatar: The Last Airbender!

Dante informed us that his favorite story line involved Zuko and his sister Azula, the crazed princess of the Fire Nation who found herself attempting to track down her brother and the Avatar following his "failures". While Zuko found a road to redemption, Azula instead reveled in her madness and hatred, causing the brother and sister to walk very different paths! Basco had this to say about their relationship:

"I always loved the banter and the relationship between Zuko and Azula. I mean I come from a family, brothers and sisters and I love Grey DeLisle who plays Azula, one of my favorite actresses for sure. And just their fiery relationship and the ups and downs of family, of love and loyalty, and dishonor and distrust. And it was really great."

The siblings of the Fire Nation both had the ability to manipulate fire, but their mastery of their power eventually opened up the door to even control lightning itself. Zuko is normally considered a fan favorite of fans of the Nickelodeon series, as his complicated character created some of the most impactful emotional beats of the series. While his journey ended at the end of the first Avatar series, later works would find Zuko attempting to find his mother while dealing with his malicious sister.

Avatar The Last Airbender has recently been in the news thanks in part to its fifteen year anniversary, with the release of a steelbook that collects the complete series. Also, a live action television series for Netflix is currently in the works, with the creative minds behind the original series re-uniting once again to bring the world of Aang and his friends to life.

Avatar: The Last Airbender's Dante Basco Reflects on 15 Years of Zuko

Fifteen years have passed since the debut of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Nickelodeon, but you wouldn't know it from the way the animated series lives on in the pop-culture lexicon. It has made such an indelible mark on the industry that it is often held up as a standard by which other animated series are judged. It should come as no surprise, then, that Zuko voice actor Dante Basco often finds himself thinking about the fan-favorite character.

Speaking with CBR, Basco reflected on his involvement with Avatar: The Last Airbender and how his interactions with fans have changed over the years. He recalled his favorite experiences as both an actor and the character, as well as the moments that defined Zuko and made him so beloved. He also revealed he had spoken to creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko about the upcoming live-action Netflix adaptation, and what advice he would offer the new Zuko.

CBR: Avatar: The Last Airbender transcended the zeitgeist and became a cult classic after its release. When did it hit you that the show was getting so big?

Dante Basco: Yeah! It's fascinating, actually, because we started doing the show before social media really took off. So we were not as engaged with the audience as we are now, when shows come out. So I was actually doing a movie called Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas and I was shooting in Toronto at the time, and I was leaving the set once a week to do the show.

I ran into one of the other actors on the show, an adult actor named Brandon Andrews, [who said], "Where are you going?" I'm like, "I do a cartoon for Nickelodeon." And he's like, "What? A cartoon? What show? What is it called?" And I'm thinking he wouldn't know, because he's in his 20s! I'm like, "It's a show called Avatar: The Last Airbender." He's like, "What? What show?" I'm like, "Avatar: The Last Airbender." He goes, "That's my show!" I was like, "What? You watch the show?" He's like, "Yeah! Who are you?" I'm like, "I'm the prince of the Fire Nation, Zuko." His mouth dropped. He's like, "You're Prince Zuko?!" and he starts freaking out. I'm like, this is a grown man freaking out about a cartoon. That was my first hint that there was something different going on.

Let's talk a little more about social media. How have your interactions with fans changed over the years?

It's been wild! I come from a traditional media generation, you know? I'm like the last generation of that. And so the whole world has changed, ultimately. Coming into social media, Twitter, Facebook -- I mean, the first social media I ever had was Tumblr. In the golden era of Tumblr, I had 250,000 followers, and we'd talk about Zuko and this other thing called Homestuck. That was a crazy ride, to have that first wave of social media hit you.

In reality, we're still at the beginning of all of this, but I think we were kind of lucky to a degree at the first creation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, because there was no social media. The whole thing just got made, before the fans could react. It's a different time than it was before. Now, you're so aware of how people are reacting to what you're doing, like instantaneously, whereas we come from a different era where it just started coming out and were very surprised how people reacted.

You have, honestly, one of the most unique voices in voice work. Have you ever been recognized off that alone?

Yeah, there's a whole generation that only knows me as a voice actor. You never know, because you don't even hear your own voice ever, right? You just talk. You just barely hear your thoughts in your voice. But I'm always surprised when it happens.

Most of the time it happens at, like, Starbucks, because the cashier isn't even looking at you, just taking your orders. And then you're just like, "Can I get a grande white chocolate mocha?" They'll literally stop in their tracks and they're like, "Are you Prince Zuko?" I'm like, "Uh, yeah." Which is pretty funny! Or the Disney fans are like, "Are you American Dragon Jake Long?" I'm like, "Yeah, I am." I guess my voice is more recognizable than I know!

Zuko is such a wonderfully dynamic, complex character. At what point in his journey did you realize he had potential to become a hero?

Probably right when he got his scar. That was the moment where I started realizing who he was -- really who he was. Until then, he was kind of just a bad guy.

When did creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko let you in on Zuko's change of heart?

No one really did! I'm like the audience; I learned as we went along. I thought I was going to play the bad guy in the series. I was enjoying American Dragon Jake Long at the same time. I thought I'd be a good guy in Disney and a bad guy in Nickelodeon. Then, after the episode with his father where you see how he got the scar... it was just enlightening. Like, you start reading the script going, "Who is this guy?" You see, me and Mae Whitman and Jack De Sena would read the scripts, come to the readings and go, "Did you see what happened? Did you see what happens this week?" The whole thing was like a ride for us too.

One of my favorite aspects of the show was Zuko's complicated relationship with his Uncle Iroh. Did you draw from your own experiences for that?

Of course! I mean, families -- everything with me and, I think, a lot of Asian families and just Zuko's family with his Uncle Iroh and his sister Azula and his father Ozai. It runs deep! And so I'm sure I've drawn from that. I come from a big family of brothers and sisters and family dramas and honor and dishonor. I've gone through dark periods with my family. So I've definitely lived through it all, you know? Sometimes you just get lucky, and you and the character coincide at the right time.


We got a glimpse of Zuko's future in Legend of Korra, but there's a lot of time in his life that hasn't been accounted for. Over the years, have you ever kind of imagined where he might be, if he were at a similar life stage as you?

Yeah, I've thought about it! I mean, he's one of the greatest characters I've gotten to play over my career, so there's a little bit of me in Zuko and a little bit of Zuko in me. I don't know! Who knows? In the future, maybe Brian and Mike will create the adventures of the young Fire Lord Zuko.

Speaking of Legend of Korra, tell me a little about how you got involved with the series and how you changed your approach to play Zuko's grandson.

Mike and Brian know the fan base and they know I'm a particular fan favorite. I've always kept up with lots of fans, so I think Emiko [Iijima] thought my [being Zuko's] grandson was a treat for the fans. We come back! The boys coming back -- I think it was an interesting choice on their part. It was really fun for me, and it was really fun when I said the first line and it came out and blew up Twitter for a hot second. It was cool.

In previous interviews, you've talked a little bit about shipping Zuko and Katara. Care to add to that?

Zutara forever! I love Fire and Water, and I spent so much time with Mae Whitman, who played the character, both in this show and in American Dragon Jake Long. Like a lot of fans, in the cave scene episode, I thought she was gonna heal his scar. Sometimes the shipping is more fun if it's not canon, you know? I think it's all fun, but... I like Mae too. That was the main reason for it, like, "I'm into Mae also," but I just think Fire and Water, Katara and Zuko are a great thing to ship.

As I'm sure you're aware, Netflix is developing a live-action Avatar series. Have you spoken to Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko about it at all?

Yeah, we've had some conversations. I mean, I love those guys. I trust those guys. It's the stuff they came up with. They're involved. It's going to be fascinating, and, you know, I'm all for the Avatar family. So I hope sooner or later I'll be involved in some way, shape or form.

What advice would you offer the new Zuko?

That's a good question. As far as Zuko's story, in the end of the day, it's a story of redemption. So, it's okay to be not liked. There are things you're going to do that's going to be unlikable and understand why he's doing everything he's doing. He's always trying to do the right thing all the time, even though it may be the wrong thing. At that time in his life, he feels like it's the right thing.

Considering all 15 years you've been living with this character, what is your favorite part of your whole experience?

You know, just the whole thing. Getting the part and performing it and playing a character and finding stories -- it's amazing. He truly is one of the greatest characters I got to play in my career over the last 30+ years. And then being a part of such a beautiful IP franchise, and to be there from the ground up is a dream come true and the onslaught of social media and Comic Cons around the world and being able to engage with audiences in a way that not many before our generation have gotten to engage with audiences has been really, really fascinating. I count myself fortunate for sure. It's hard to say what's your favorite part of this all. It's all a part the journey. I sound like Uncle Iroh, but it's true.

I'd like to hear about another favorite: what's your favorite Zuko moment from the series?

There's so many different ones. The episode about Uncle Iroh is pretty amazing, very emotional. They made it around time the original actor Mako passed away. Mako has played my uncle, my father in my career like four times. I grew up with Mako's name, as one of the elders in the industry from the start. He really was Uncle Iroh to me. It was very special, all those things.

Also, some of my favorite moments: "The Tales of Ba Sing Se" is one of my favorite arcs in Avatar. All those vignettes are amazing, with Zuko just dating a girl, just trying to be a regular kid. It's really beautiful, because I grew up as a child actor myself, and there's times where you feel cool and special and other times you just want to be a kid and go out on a date. I thought that was really beautiful to see Zuko in that life. So there's things like that that touched me.

Teddy Fresh, the formidable streetwear clothing brand from Hila Klein, is on the verge of dropping its biggest collab to date — a collection inspired by the iconic Nickelodeon character SpongeBob SquarePants!


Teddy Fresh began teasing the collab on social media earlier this week, in a post (below) stating that the collection would drop next Thursday at 1 pm ET. A photo showcases what appears to be three shirts touting Teddy Fresh’s bear mascot alongside SpongeBob himself. Spongebob, launched in 1999, is a merchandising powerhouse for ViacomCBS-owned Nickelodeon, having reportedly generated upwards of $13 billion in merchandise revenues alone for the company as of 2017.

While neither pricing details nor the full item lineup have been unveiled just yet, details about the collaboration began leaking late last month — including a sheet of paper from a retail partner (likely Zumiez) instructing stores to “display all the Teddy Fresh x SpongeBob SquarePants you received in a highly visible location how you see fit.” The sheet also lists about 20 SKUs, though it isn’t discernible what they are from the available info (although one does mentioned "hoodie").


This isn’t Teddy Fresh’s first collab. The brand previously paired with fellow streetwear brand RipNDip (which is also stocked at Zumiez) for two different collections. In their first outing in Oct. 2018, items ranged in price from $12 for a sticker pack to $80 for a hoodie.

Teddy Fresh is the brainchild of Klein (who also serves as its CEO), who is one half of the married duo behind the popular YouTube comedy and commentary channel h3h3Productions. That said, Hila and her husband, Ethan, have not posted a video on that channel (6.6 million subscribers) in roughly eight months — instead focusing their efforts on The H3 Podcast, which is also distributed on YouTube and counts 3.7 million subscribers across twochannels.

Teddy Fresh officially bowed in Oct. 2017 and received a major distribution push the following July through a pact with Seattle-founded Zumiez, which counts 607 stores across the United States.

The SpongeBob apparel joins other recent fashion collaborations from brands such as Unimatic, Nike and Timberland, Pharrell Williams' Billionaire Boys Club ICECREAM, Edward Venero's VNRO, a skateboard collection from Santa Cruz Skateboards, a homeware collaboration from Modernica with Chicago-based visual artist Louis De Guzman and global music artist J Balvin, a dog apparel and accessories collection with Fresh Pawz, clothing with Zara, and a Grillz collaboration between J Balvin and Ian Delucca.

SpongeBob SquarePants, which was recently greenlit for a 13th season, has reigned as the number-one kids’ animated series on TV for the last 17 years, while generating a universe of beloved characters, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony award-winning Broadway musical which is now touring North America and a global fan base. SpongeBob SquarePants is seen in more than 208 countries and territories, translated in 55+ languages, and averages more than 100 million total viewers every quarter. SpongeBob SquarePants is created by Stephen Hillenburg and produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, Calif.

Nickelodeon's is currently in the midst of the network's "Best Year Ever", a year-long global celebration of one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. The “Best Year Ever” launched with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special earlier this summer, and leads up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming May 2020.

A CG-animated prequel spin-off series, Kamp Koral, following 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants during his summer at sleepaway camp, is also slated to premiere during Summer 2020.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--Feb. 19, 2020--Nickelodeon is expanding the world of the number-one kids’ series, Henry Danger, with the launch of Danger Force, a brand-new original live-action spinoff premiering Saturday, March 28, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). Created and executive produced by Christopher J. Nowak (Henry Danger, Sam & Cat), the new series stars two of the most beloved characters from Henry Danger, “Ray/Captain Man” (Cooper Barnes) and “Schwoz” (Michael D. Cohen), and introduces four new superheroes-in-training as they team up to fight crime in their town of Swellview. Danger Force (13 episodes) is produced by Barnes and Jace Norman (Henry Danger), and production for the series is currently underway.

“A key part of our content strategy is to grow original franchises like Henry Danger by expanding their worlds through new characters and more high-stakes adventures,” said Brian Robbins, President, Kids & Family Entertainment, ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks. “We’re spinning off our Henry Danger mega-hit into Danger Force, where a new set of characters join members of the original cast for a wholly new take on this long-running series.”


In Danger Force, four kids--Chapa (Havan Flores), Miles (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Mika (Dana Heath) and Bose (Luca Luhan)--are recruited to attend Swellview Academy for the Gifted (SW.A.G. for short), a school conceived by Captain Man and brought to life by Schwoz, after having been accidentally mutated in the fight to save Swellview. While there, the kids must learn to harness their frequently troublesome and sometimes uncontrollable superpowers as they begin to fight crime. Despite the dangerous circumstances of their new lives, the superheroes must keep their real identities a secret from both from their families and the villains who are out to destroy them.

Danger Force’s four brand-new superheroes-in-training will be introduced in the final episodes of Henry Danger, currently premiering Saturdays at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. Henry Danger is Nick’s longest running live-action sitcom, with 128 episodes across five seasons. For 2019 and year to date, the series is the number-one show for Kids 6-11 on all TV.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 24, kids will be able to familiarize themselves with the new Danger Force characters through the Nickelodeon Screens Up app and at JoinDangerForce.com with special games, trivia, galleries and more. When playing along during new episodes of Danger Force, users will be able to unlock special content and enter sweepstakes to win exclusive prize packs and a walk on role.

Production of Danger Force is overseen for Nickelodeon by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live-Action Scripted Content. Omar Camacho serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.

Danger Force underscores a key element of Nickelodeon's content strategy, to build and expand the worlds of its enormously popular franchises like Henry Danger, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Blue's Clues & You!, among others, to give audiences more of what they love. Nick's new content slate is informed by the network's ongoing research and insights into today's generation of kids, who: are the most diverse generation ever and expect to see themselves authentically represented in media and in the world around them; want to make a positive difference in the world as they grow up; consider social media stars as their top role models, alongside their parents; and increasingly meet their much-desired need for family time by co-viewing entertainment content together.

Canada — Feb. 13, 2020— Grammy® Award-winning superstar Chance the Rapper is set to host Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020, the biggest and slimiest awards show where kids are in control, broadcasting live on YTV in Canada and Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Sunday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The live simulcast will give viewers in Canada the chance to catch all the slimy action as it happens.

With surprises at every turn, Chance the Rapper will bring his charisma and upbeat energy to the Kids’ Choice Awards, an epic celebration of kids’ favorite stars across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more. Viewers everywhere will be able to experience the show on all Nickelodeon screens and platforms, as Nick offers a front-row seat to slime, stunts and celebrities.

Said Chance the Rapper, “I’m honored to host this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards. I watched Nickelodeon growing up and now I get to slime some of my favorite people on stage. This is going to be a party that you won’t want to miss!”

Leading into the award show, Nickelodeon SlimeFest, a two-day family-friendly music festival, will make its west coast debut on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The event features performances by Nickelodeon star and YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa, breakout pop group Why Don’t We, Grammy® Award-nominated multiplatinum artist French Montana, viral chart-topper Blanco Brown and singer/ventriloquist Darci Lynne. This year’s Nickelodeon SlimeFest will feature a Sunday-only VIP ticket that includes access to a special performance viewing area, plus admission to Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020. All Sunday attendees will also have the opportunity to watch a livestream of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 on the festival screens.


Leading the pack with the most Kids’ Choice Awards nominations are: Avengers: Endgame, with 11 nominations; Taylor Swift, with five nominations; and Frozen 2, Henry Danger and Lil Nas X, with four nominations each. First-time nominees include: John Cena, DaBaby, Tiffany Haddish, Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion. With another nomination this year, Will Smith becomes the most nominated celebrity in Kids’ Choice Awards history, with a total of 29.

Chance the Rapper is no stranger to Nickelodeon, having made a surprise appearance at last year’s Nickelodeon SlimeFest in his hometown of Chicago and taking home a coveted Kids’ Choice Awards orange blimp for “Favorite Collaboration” (“No Brainer” by DJ Khaled, featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Quavo) in 2019. He was also nominated for “Favorite Song” (“I’m the One” by DJ Khaled, featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Quavo and Lil Wayne) in 2018.

El lunes 10 de febrero a las 18:35h Nickelodeon sigue de cerca las nuevas aventuras de la esponja marina más famosa de la televisión. Esta vez, Plankton sigue haciendo de las suyas y usa a #BobEsponja como cómplice para esconder a su extraño amigo por la ciudad marina, y además el gigante guante que sostiene al restaurante de Plankton se vuelve loco y pone a toda la ciudad de Fondo de Bikini… ¡patas arriba!

En las nuevas aventuras Plankton sigue metiéndose en líos y después de fracasar intentando tirar a la basura un viejo alimento podrido decide engañar a Bob Esponja para que sea él quien se encargue de encontrar el sitio perfecto donde tirarlo y deshacerse de este «podrido» problema. Pero, ¿se dará cuenta la esponja marina del engaño que le ha hecho el malvado Plankton?

Otro día, la Burbuja Limpia decide trabajar como lavaplatos en el Crustáceo Crujiente, pero no lo tendrá nada fácil porque habrá ¡muchas tentaciones! Por si fuera poco, en otra ocasión la ciudad de Fondo de Bikini corre peligro cuando el gigante guante que sostiene el restaurante de Plankton, Cubo de Cebo, se descontrola y pone todo patas arriba. Pero que no cunda el pánico porque Bob Esponja encuentra a un amigo muy útil que le ayudara a arreglar este desastre. ¿Conseguirán dar con el plan perfecto para detenerlo lo antes posible?

¡Aún hay más diversión marina! En otro episodio, a Bob Esponja se le ocurre la gran idea de limpiar el Faro de la escuela de navegación, donde conoce a un compañero muy gracioso pero que lo meterá en algún que otro marrón. Otro día, la pandilla de amigas Siempre Amigas, formada por Plankton, Arenita y la señora Puff deciden llevar a Perlita a una cabaña en el bosque para pasar un fin de semana cargado de diversión y muchas bromas, pero ¿podrán disfrutar de la super excursión sin que nada ni nadie la estropee? Mientras, en otra aventura el señor Cangrejo descubre que tiene un gusto secreto por algo muy sorprendente…

El domingo 29 de febrero a partir de las 12:25h los más pequeños de la casa podrán disfrutar de un super maratón compuesto por las mejores aventuras amistosas de #BobEsponja y Patricio, y el estreno de dos nuevos episodios llenos de diversión. Desde que se conocieron se convirtieron en grandes amigos, y aunque no todo haya sido buenos momentos, siempre vuelven a estar juntos como auténticos ¡mejores amigos!

Nickelodeon ha preparado un especial cargado de los mejores (y más amistosos) episodios de Bob Esponja y su «best friend forever» Patricio, pero además el broche de oro a este maratón lo pone el estreno de dos nuevos episodios llenos de diversión. En el primer episodio de estreno a Bob Esponja y Patricio se les ocurre una brillante idea: ¡crear un zoológico completamente de burbujas! Pero ¿conseguirán que el plan salga tal y como ellos esperan? En la siguiente aventura de estreno, los dos amigos son engañados para cuidar a una anciana muy gruñona que hace todo lo posible para librarse de ellos. ¿Serán capaces de salir de este marrón lo antes posible?

Además, en los episodios de este maratón, Patricio hace de las suyas y acaba comiéndose accidentalmente el donut de Bob Esponja y sintiéndose muy culpable por ello. Aunque si hay algo que a ambos amigos les gusta hacer juntos es molestar al cascarrabias de Calamardo, y otro día lo vuelven loco mientras ellos se divierten con sus flautas nuevas, pero ¿cómo se vengará el señor Calamardo de esta situación?

En otra aventura, un bonito y agradable día de construcción de castillos de arena se convierte en un auténtico desastre cuando Bob Esponja y Patricio usan sus creaciones para pelearse. Pero no será la única pelea que pase por este maratón porque en otra ocasión, ambos amigos compran un sólo juguete para los dos, así que para poder divertirse primero tendrán que aprender a compartir.

Pero esto no es todo, en otro de los episodios, a la esponja marina y a la estrella de mar se les ocurre hacer un examen de amistad para saber cuánto se conocen el uno al otro. ¿Conseguirán aprobar este test sin pelearse?

Update (14/6/2019) - According to EL UNIVERSAL, Karisma Hotels & Resorts' plans to open a Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts resort in Cartagena, Colombia haven't been finalised yet, however, they are still interested in opening a Nick-branded resort in the North of Cartagena!

Update (10/12/2019) - Rafael Feliz, chairman and CEO of Karisma Hotels & Resorts has revealed to TravelPulse the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts brand’s Latin America debut could be either Brazil or Colombia. In Colombia, Feliz told TravelPulse to expect a Nickelodeon near Cartagena. He said the Brazil location will be near Rio de Janeiro!

Karisma Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open a brand-new Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts resort in Cartagena, Colombia! Rafael Feliz, CEO of Karisma, made the exciting announcement during the Karisma Hotels & Resorts' 9th Annual Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant Awards and Sales & Marketing Forum.

The news follows the successful opening of Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Karisma and Viacom International Media Networks' (VIMN) first Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts resort, which opened to critical acclaim this summer, and boasts a life-sized replica of SpongeBob's Pineapple home which guests can vacation in.


Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Cartagena will be Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts' first destination in Central and South America, and will be home to the new family brand's first hotel outside of the Caribbean and Mexico. Feliz told Travel Agent Central that the property is expected to open roughly three years from now (2019/2020).

In 2015, Feliz and Lubo Krstajic, the company’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, told Travel Agent the plan was to expand Nickelodeon Hotels to Central and South America with destinations such as Brazil; Cartagena, Colombia; and Panama being heavily discussed. With Cartagena now confirmed, it is quite possible that either Brazil or Panama could be Nickelodeon's second destination in Latin America.

¿Cuánto invirtieron en este nuevo proyecto?

En el proyecto Margaritaville Island Reserve, que tiene 148 habitaciones, Karisma invirtió cerca de US$10 millones en la remodelación de uno de nuestros hoteles ya existentes. En relación con Nickelodeon, como cadena hotelera nosotros somos los expertos en la conceptualización del hotel, así como en el diseño de las experiencias culinarias y de entretenimiento para nuestros huéspedes, las inversiones son realizadas por nuestros socios de negocios e inversionistas, quienes controlan los montos de inversión.

¿Y hay nuevos planes de expansión en Colombia?

Siempre, si bien las aperturas que tenemos más próximas están en México, Jamaica y en República Dominicana, estamos fuertemente concentrados en que Colombia y Brasil sean los próximos países que Nickelodeon llame su hogar.

Hay dos hoteles de Nickelodeon. Actualmente uno está en operación en Punta Cana en República Dominicana con 208 habitaciones y otro en proceso de construcción en la Riviera Maya. Son resorts Gourmet Inclusive, donde se logra un equilibrio entre el entretenimiento para niños y la indulgencia, y el lujo para sus papás. Para niños, tiene experiencias inspiradas en el canal, desayunos con los personajes (Bob Esponja, Paw Patrol, Dora La Exploradora y Las Tortugas Ninja), Slime Time, espacios de fotos con los personajes, Club de niños y un parque de agua.

Igualmente, buscan abrir otro hotel de la misma marca en Brasil. Próximamente tendrán la apertura del Margaritaville Island Reserve en Riviera Cancún y el Nickelodeon Riviera Maya.

Como informó REPORTUR.co, Karisma Hotels en Colombia desde 2018 planea traer la marca Nickelodeon, luego de México y Brasil. Además la hotelera quiere desarrollar la marca Irotama fuera Santa Marta, en destinos como Cartagena, Eje Cafetero y la Sabana de Bogotá. Igualmente, proyecta incursionar en el mercado corporativo del país, así lo anunciaba la marca en su momento. (Karisma Hotels planea traer la marca Nickelodeon a Colombia).

“Queremos traer el segundo Nickelodeon para la región en Brasil, – luego del mencionado en México- y esperamos que, en el primer trimestre del próximo año, tengamos algo ya más definido para tener programas de construcción específicos con fechas. El tercer Nickelodeon queremos que sea en Colombia y estamos buscando alternativas de dónde podría ser”, indicó Jaramillo en su momento.

Cartagena sería sede del primer hotel Nickelodeon en Suramérica

Dentro de los proyectos que tiene de expansión Karisma Hotels & Resorts en América Latina, a uno le podrían dar prioridad y se empezaría a desarrollar en los próximos años.

Se trata de un nuevo hotel, construido desde cero, de la franquicia del famoso canal de televisión infantil y juvenil, el cual sería el primero en su formato en Suramérica, y tendría como sede la ciudad de Cartagena.

Así lo anunciaron las directivas de Karisma Hotels & Resorts que se encuentran participando en la Vitrina Turística Anato que se realiza hasta este viernes en Bogotá.

Esta cadena hotelera que opera más de 30 hoteles en distintas partes del mundo y cumple 20 años de desarrollo, ya cuenta con un primer hotel Nickelodeon que se encuentra en Punta Cana, República Dominicana y en pocos meses espera tener listo uno más en la Riviera Maya en México y que supera las 380 habitaciones.

Sus creadores aclaran que si bien es un hotel de temática infantil, está diseñado para que pueda ser disfrutado por toda la familia, con las atracciones que tienen que ver directamente con los personajes principales del canal, como Bob Esponja, Dora La Exploradora y las Tortugas Ninja, pero a la vez, con espacios como el spa y zonas de relajamiento para los más adultos.

Son hoteles de grandes dimensiones que mueven un alto número de huéspedes diarios, bajo el concepto gourmet-all inclusive, que han desarrollado con gran éxito en sus hoteles en México y República Dominicana pero que aún no logran realizar en Colombia.

A finales de 2018 realizaron un primer intento con una unión con Irotama en Santa Marta. Además, Karisma ayudaría para que Irotama se convirtiera en una marca para desarrollar otros proyectos hoteleros, tanto dentro como fuera del país.

Sin embargo, la unión duró poco y a principios de 2019, de común acuerdo, terminaron con dicho convenio.
