Could there be a The Naked Brothers Band reunion in the future?


In an awesome interview with Variety, Alex Wolff, who starred in Nickelodeon's popular noughties musical comedy series alongside his brother Nat, revealed that he's hoping for a Naked Brothers Band reunion - and the siblings have even talked about the reunion's storyline!

“We did talk about Alex, who [was] a lemon-lime [soda] addict, is probably a drug addict,” Wolff told Variety, before admitting that probably wouldn’t fly with Nickelodeon.

Talking about the series, Alex revealed that “I have not outgrown it.”

Created by Nat and Alex's real life mom, Polly Draper, The Naked Brothers Band followed the daily lives of Draper's sons, who lead a faux world-renowned rock band in New York City. As a mockumentary, the storyline is an embellished parody of their real lives, and the fictional presence of a camera is often acknowledged.

The show stars Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff, the lead singer-songwriter, and drummer, respectively. Nat's fictional female interest (portrayed by Allie DiMeco) and real life friends Thomas Batuello, David Levi, and Cooper Pillot, as well as Qaasim Middleton—who has no prior acquaintance with the family—feature as the other band members, with Draper's jazz musician husband Michael Wolff as his sons' widowed accordion-playing dad, and her niece Jesse Draper portraying the group's babysitter.

Guest stars included Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly), Victoria Justice (Victorious), Leon Thomas III (Victorious), Snoop Dogg (Sanjay and Craig, Game Shakers), George Lopez (Lopez Tonight), Tony Hawk (Rocket Power), Phil Collins, Natasha Bedingfield and Whoopi Goldberg.

Following the show's premiere, the band's song "Crazy Car" was placed on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and the first and second season soundtrack albums were on the top 200 Billboard charts.

The show's theme song is "If That's Not Love" by Nat Wolff.

The Naked Brothers Band aired for 37 (+5 specials) between February 3, 2007 – June 13, 2009.

The series is a spinoff of Draper's film of the same name that was picked up by Nickelodeon, premiering in January 2007. Draper, known for her starring role in Thirtysomething, is the executive producer, and often writer and director. Albie Hecht, Nickelodeon's former president of film and television entertainment and former president of Spike TV, is also the executive producer, under his Worldwide Biggies label. Michael Wolff, who led the band on The Arsenio Hall Show, serves as co-executive producer and music supervisor, with Draper's brother, Tim, as the consulting producer.

Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) and Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) will Noobees 2, the second season of Nickelodeon Latinoamérica's hit scripted series which takes viewers inside the high-stakes world of eSports, on Monday 2nd March 2020 at 17:00 in Argentina, 18:00 in Colombia, 19:00 in México and Venezuela and at 20:00 Chile and Brazil!


Update (22/2) - Nickelodeon Latinoamérica will host a special preview of Noobees 2 on the Nick Play app and on the network's YouTube channel on Friday 28th February 2020!:

In Noobees 2 (60 x 1 hour episodes), audiences will follow Silvia (Michelle Olvera) and David (Andrés de la Mora) as a couple, oblivious to the fact that Gameover seeks revenge. Gameover’s sole mission is to take control of all players, conquer the real world and turn it into a video game. To execute his plan he needs help from Athina and Rocco, 2 Avatars that he has created, but lies to them about his true intentions, offering them the opportunity to play the best game of their lives and enter the real world to mingle with humans. Do they find out his evil scheme or does Gameover succeed with his takeover?

Noobees 2 will see Argentine actor Julián Cerati, Colombian influencer La Pereztroica, and Venezuelan actress Karlys Romero join original castmates - Mexican actors Michelle Olvera and Andrés de la Mora, Colombians María José Vargas and Pipe Arcila, and Brazilian actor Clara Tiezzi.

Noobees 2 is written by renowned Argentine screenwriter, Marcela Citterio whose works include tween favorites Chica Vampiro, Heidi and Nickelodeon Latin America’s Yo Soy Franky, among others.


Noobees 2 was filmed in Bogotá, Colombia over five months, wrapping in October 2019, and is produced by Viacom International Studios (VIS) and The Mediapro Studios.

To celebrate the upcoming debut of Noobees 2, Nickelodeon has launched a brand new short-form digital series titled Mundo Avatar con La Pereztroica, starring La Pereztroica, which takes viewers deeper into the world Noobees. Noobees regresa a Nickelodeon el próximo 2 de marzo

La nueva temporada de la serie teen, producida por Viacom International Studios y The Mediapro Studio, se estrenará en Nickelodeon Latinoamérica el próximo 2 de marzo.

Después de una exitosa primera temporada, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica anunció el estreno de la segunda temporada de Noobees (60×60′ ), serie teen producida por Viacom International Studios y The Mediapro Studio.

La misma debutará en toda América Latina el próximo lunes 2 de marzo a las 17:00 horas Argentina, 18:00 horas Colombia, 19:00 horas México y Venezuela y 20:00 horas Chile y Brasil.

Noobees temporada 2 cuenta con la participación del elenco original encabezado por los mexicanos Michelle Olvera y Andrés de la Mora; los colombianos María José Vargas y Pipe Arcila, así como la actriz brasileña Clara Tiezzi.

(NASDAQ: HAS), today announced an original graphic novel POWER RANGERS: SINS OF THE FUTURE, with story by Trey Moore (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), written by Matthew Erman (Bonding), illustrated by Giuseppe Cafaro (Saban’s Power Rangers: Soul of The Dragon), and lettered by Ed Dukeshire. This all-new graphic novel, available in October 2020, features two of the most popular Rangers of all time and what happens to them after the events of the hit Power Rangers: Time Force television series!

After defeating the villainous Ransik alongside their allies in the time-traveling Time Force, Pink Ranger Jen Scotts and Red Ranger Wes Collins want to try for a real relationship. But without sacrificing their commitments to the Silver Guardians and Time Force, can the two actually make the ultimate long-distance relationship work?

When Jen returns from the future, she and Wes are attacked by a mysterious stranger who has dire news – if these two stay together, they’ll disrupt the timeline and change the destiny of humanity! Matthew Erman is a comics writer from Columbus, Ohio. Alongside Lisa Sterle, he co-created the critically acclaimed comic horror series, Long Lost, which was optioned for Film/TV by Producer Jenny Klein (The Witcher, Daisy Jones and The Six). Since then, he’s worked with IDW on a new Care Bears: Unlock the Magic series as well as Vault Comics on his upcoming original graphic novel Bonding, with artist and co-creator Emily Pearson. His short work can be found in anthologies such as Corpus (2018), Dead Beats (2019), and Everything is Going Wrong (2019).

“I was once six years old eating malted milk-balls in my pj’s, glued to the television, exclusively watching Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. 25 years later, I’m actually writing Power Rangers, and it is bonkers: a literal dream come true. POWER RANGERS: SINS OF THE FUTURE is the story that my six year old self would have wanted to write,” said writer Matthew Erman. “Jen Scotts of Power Rangers Time Force takes center stage in this story, and she’s such a deep, interesting character with so much to pull from that writing her and other characters from Time Force has been a real gift. It’s been so wild to play in this sandbox and easy to see why it’s regarded by fans as some of the best the franchise has to offer. I can’t wait for everyone to read this!”

Giuseppe Cafaro is an Italian comic book artist who has worked in the industry since 2010 to great acclaim. Cafaro has been the artist for titles such as Catwoman, Suicide Squad, and Superman/Wonder Woman for DC Comics, Fathom and Soulfire for Aspen Comics, and Power Rangers: The Psycho Path, Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon and Firefly: Bad Company for BOOM! Studios.

“I’m extremely honored to be the artist for a new Power Rangers graphic novel,” said artist Giuseppe Cafaro. “BOOM! Studios is doing a huge and amazing job on every single book of the Power Rangers and I’m sure SINS OF THE FUTURE will be even more fun and intense than ever before!”

New ViacomCBS Study Finds That Australians Love Their TV, But Want a Simpler Experience

Australians’ appetite for TV is hungrier than ever. And for the vast majority of viewers - 76% - as long as they can easily access what they want to watch, the device and service simply don’t matter.


Top of mind for programmers and advertisers alike should be that, in 2020, viewers think of TV as content, not the number and proliferation of the tools to get it, says Christian Kurz, Senior Vice President of Global Insights at ViacomCBS, parent company of Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV, Comedy Central and now Network 10.

Kurz was in Australia to present ViacomCBS’ global research project, Today’s TV, at the Future of TV Advertising summit in Sydney.

Today’s TV sampled 10,000 people in 10 countries (Argentina, Australia, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Poland, Spain, Thailand, UK and US) to explore what TV means to people around the world today,” Kurz told AdNews.

"It has demonstrated how TV (defined as 'TV shows and movies'), fulfils three primary needs: it indulges viewers, it brings the family together, and it opens our minds by raising the visibility of previously untold stories."

Kurz explained that the Australian sample was +1000 and there are some distinct differences between the local responses and global averages:

  • More Australians feel TV is part of their daily lives (84% v 69% global),
  • 83% say TV is an important source of entertainment (vs 70% global)
  • 83% are excited by the options they have to watch TV today (vs 77% global)
  • 76% feel that as long as they can access what they want to watch, the device and service don’t matter
  • 88% find TV as a source of comfort (vs 66% global) but 79% wish it was easier to find TV shows and movies. And 85% also wish they could access all their TV content through just one service.

He says the survey findings sound a warning bell that, while consumers use TV to reduce stress, they find the amount of content available to them can be overwhelming.

"Nearly two-thirds say that there are so many great TV shows coming out, it’s difficult to keep up," according to Kurz.


"Searching for content is time-consuming and frustrating – especially on VOD services. Viewers yearn for simplicity, with 80% saying they wish they were able to access all their TV content through one service and 77% wishing it were easier to find the TV shows and movies they love.

"Viewers are also defaulting to content they know. They want TV to be easy, not another set of decisions to make. For some, this means watching something they’ve seen before. Others turn to linear TV as a way of simplifying their choices.

"In short, people love TV as much as ever, but with so much great content it’s stressful to decide what to watch. To improve their viewing experience, give them the ease and seamlessness they crave. This applies to advertising as much as programming."

Today's TV talked to 10,000 people in 10 countries via an online survey and in-home ethnographies with selected viewers. For some respondents, ViacomCBS affixed Go Pro cameras to their TV sets to get a front-seat view to their TV habits.

Grillo’s and Nickelodeon Collaborating on New 'Rugrats' Clothing and Food Lines

Grillo's has announced the exciting news that the premium pickle brand is working on a collaboration with Nickelodeon to produce clothing and food labels featuring characters from the network's beloved '90s animated series Rugrats!


Rugrats focuses on a group of toddlers, Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, twins Phil and Lil DeVille, and Angelica Pickles, and their day-to-day lives that became adventures in their imaginations. The original Rugrats series launched in August of 1991 and instantly became a groundbreaking phenomenon, cementing its place in pop culture history through its iconic characters, storytelling and unique visual style.

Rugrats originally ran for nine seasons and 172 episodes from 1991 to 2004, debuting alongside Doug and Ren & Stimpy as one of the original Nicktoons, earning four daytime Emmys and six Kids' Choice Awards, among others, its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and launching a slate of consumer products. The success led to three features, starting with 1998's The Rugrats Movie, which introduced Tommy’s younger brother Dil, followed by Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (2000), which introduced Kimi and Kira, and Rugrats Go Wild (2003), a crossover film with fellow Klasky Csupo series The Wild Thornberrys, They grossed $100 million, $76.5 million and $439.4 million, respectively. The series also spawned a number of spin-offs, including All Grown Up! and Pre-School Daze.

As Rugrats primarily focuses on the Pickles family, it's not hard to see why Grillo choose Rugrats to represent the brand.

The brand expansion comes as Grillo’s has seen sustained triple digit year-over-year (YoY) growth and as it seeks to broaden its marketing efforts through clothing and brand partnerships. The company partnered with Urban Outfitters to produce a clothing line which was sold at New York Fashion Week this month and is entering the beverage set with a line of cold-pressed pickle vinegar drinks launching next week at Natural Products Expo West 2020.

Nickelodeon is in the midst of reviving Rugrats for a new generation of kids. Greenlit for 26-episodes, the refreshed series will include new adventures with beloved characters Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie and Angelica, and will also introduce a new world of characters.

A live-action Rugrats film featuring CGI characters by was in development at Paramount Players and slated for a January 2021 release, however, this movie looks like its been put on hold for now.

Jazwares Named Master Toy Partner for YouTube Sensation CKN Toys; New Short-Form Series to Premiere on Nickelodeon During Easter 2020

Jazwares has been named the master toy partner for the YouTube sensation CKN Toys in a new deal brokered by the licensing agency, Haven Global.


The hugely popular children’s YouTube channel CKN Toys, which has amassed 14.1 million subscribers, is in for a busy Easter — with a toy line and Nickelodeon series slated to drop concurrently!

CKN Toys, which launched in March 2015, features Aussie brothers Calvin (who is seven years old) and Kaison (four). Their inaugural toy collection will comprise collectible figures, vehicles, playsets, and more — all inspired by the duo’s most-watched, action-packed, unscripted content from YouTube, in which they unbox superhero toys, kids cars, construction kits, and more. The licensing deal was inked with consumer products maker Jazwares (which has previously collaborated with other digital stars), and struck by Haven Global — the licensing agent channel that reps CKN.


The product launch will coincide with a previously-announced, preschooler-aimed short-form series on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., which is set to debut this Easter on both linear and digital platforms across Australia, the U.K., Asia, and Canada. The toys will then launch at to-be-named retailers in the U.S. next autumn (fall), and will also appear in Calvin and Kaisen’s upcoming YouTube content and their new short form series.

These mohawk rocking content creators have a contagious enthusiasm that has shaped the entire toy line. Authenticity and imagination reign supreme across the line featuring all their favourite ways to play through collectible figures, vehicles, play sets, compounds, a recognisable “Smasher” and more.

“Calvin and Kaisen are a very special new addition to our portfolio,” Laura Zebersky, Jazwares’ chief commercial officer, said in a statement. “Their adventurous spirit and unique way of connecting with kids around the world, made them a perfect fit. We’re thrilled to bring them to aisle globally in alignment with Nickelodeon’s content schedule.”

“We were impressed with Jazwares’ innovation, speed to market and intuition; Jazwares could see that CKN Toys was a huge success, and has since become the first of many partners on board” added Tom Punch, managing director for Haven Global, global licensing agent for CKN Toys. “The toy line looks amazing and is a uniquely collaborative effort between Jazwares and the two brothers, resulting in toys made by kids for kids.”

All told, CKN Toys counts 12 billion lifetime YouTube views and averages 86 million views per month in the U.S. — its largest market.

Nickelodeon Developing New JoJo Siwa Movie

Nickelodeon is currently working on a brand new movie starring social media superstar and Dance Moms phenom JoJo Siwa, Forbes is reporting!


Details about the project, which is currently in the works, including whether it'll be a theatrical movie for theatres or a made-for-TV Nickelodeon Original Movie - are currently still underwraps. JoJo previously featured alongside Jace Norman (Henry Danger) and Daniella Perkins (Knight Squad) in Nickelodeon's made-for-television movie Blurt.

Nickelodeon superstar JoJo Siwa is a YouTube sensation, pop star, dancer, entrepreneur, social media influencer, New York Times bestselling author and star on Nickelodeon’s Lip Sync Battle Shorties.
