Nickelodeon Iberia will premiere Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 on Wednesday 25th March 2020 at 17:00 on Nickelodeon Portugal and at 18:00 on Nickelodeon Spain (España).

El ganador del Grammy y superestrella Chance The Rapper presentará de los Nickelodeon #KCA, que se celebrarán el domingo 22 de marzo en el estadio The Forum de Inglewood (California). La fiesta más espectacular y con más slime del año, donde los niños toman el control, podrá verse en en exclusiva en España sólo en Nickelodeon el miércoles 25 de marzo a las 18:00h. Los nominados los han dado a conocer Annie LeBlanc y su hermana Hayley LeBlanc en el evento de nominados de los Kids Choice Awards que ha podido seguirse a través de los perfiles de Youtube, Instagram, Facebook y Twitter de Nickelodeon.

"Estoy orgulloso de presentar este año los Kids Choice Awards. He crecido viendo Nickelodeon y ahora por fin podre slimear a algunos de mis artistas favoritos en el escenario. ¡Esto va a ser una auténtica fiesta que nadie querrá perderse!" ha declarado Chance The Rapper.

Avengers: Endgame, con 11 nominaciones; Taylor Swift, con 5 nominaciones; y Frozen 2, Henry Danger y Lil Nas X, con 4 nominaciones respectivamente, lideran las nominaciones de este año. John Cena, DaBaby, Tiffany Haddish, Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Lizzo y Megan Thee Stallion, reciben sus primeras nominaciones estos premios, mientras que Will Smith se convierte en la estrella más nominada en la historia de los Kids Choice Awards, con su nominación número 29 este año, en la categoría de Actor de cine favorito

Chance The Rapper no es un extraño para los fans de Nickelodeon, pues el año pasado apareció por sorpresa en el Nickelodeon SlimeFest de Chicago, su ciudad natal, y se llevó a casa el codiciado dirigible naranja de los Kids Choice Awards 2019 en la categoría de Colaboración Favorita por la canción No Brainer junto a DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber y Quavo. También estuvo nominado en 2018 a la categoría de Canción favorita por el tema I’m the One, junto a DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Quavo y Lil Wayne.

Entre los nominados españoles de este año, se disputan el premio a #ArtistaEspañolFavorito la Youtuber Alexity, la bailarina Daniela Blasco y el artista Naim Darrechi, mientras que los TikTokers Ángela Mármol, Carlota Torres, Jose Julio y Natalia Jiménez competirán por ser el #InfluencerEspañolFavorito. De la manera más viscosa y caótica imaginable, Annie y Hayley LeBlanc han desvelado las nominaciones para los Kids Choice Awards 2020 mediante el juego Secret Slime Word. Cada vez que las LeBlanc decían la palabra secreta, el cubo que tenían sobre sus cabezas se llenaba de slime, hasta que llegaba a su máximo, empapándolas con el mítico líquido viscoso de Nickelodeon. Además, para conocer el nombre de los nominados, ambas tenían que meter la mano en cajas que contenían ositos de goma, menta, y otras salsas ¡pero siempre sin decir la palabra secreta!

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Star Dante Basco on Whether He'll Appear in Netflix's New Live-Action Series

It has been a long time since Avatar: The Last Airbender made its way to television. The series lives on in comics and novels, but a solid 15 years have gone by since the world first met Aang and the Avatar gang. These days, the title is back in the news since Netflix is working on a live-action adaptation of the show, and one star is open to returning to the Fire Nation.


Recently, ComicBook.com got the chance to speak with Dante Basco (Hook) about his tenure with Avatar: The Last Airbender. The veteran voice actor played Zuko in the series, and his work at the prince was praised the world over. Speaking about the show's 15th anniversary, Basco opened up about the live-action Netflix series and whether he'd do a cameo.

"We'll see, we'll see," the actor said before discussing his place behind the scenes.

The vague answer isn't too surprising given how far out Netflix is from airing the series. So far, no casting has been confirmed for Avatar: The Last Airbender, but the show's creators have promised this adaptation will not go the way of its first, including having a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast.

As for Basco, fans would love to see the actor return to the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender but in person this time. A loving cameo would be enough for diehard fans of the fiery prince, so here's to hoping Netflix is down for such an easter egg!

Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko and airing between 2005 and 2008, Avatar: The Last Airbender, is set in world people can manipulate the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air, and they lived peacefully in different regions until one of the nations started a world war. One master who can manipulate all four elements, dubbed the "Avatar," had been able to prevent this war, but disappeared soon after. 100 years later, a new Avatar named Aang awakens and sets out on a journey to master all the elements in order to bring peace to the land once more by defeating Fire Lord Ozai and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.

The series managed to be such a hit with fans by combining amazing animated action set pieces with three dimensional interesting characters set in this magical fantasy world.

The animated series originally aired for 61 episodes over three seasons ("Books") originally on Nickelodeon, where it began in February 2005 and concluded in July 2008. The series was nominated for—and won—Annie Awards, Genesis Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Peabody Award.

Konietzko and DiMartino also created a follow-up series, The Legend of Korra, that returned to the world of Avatar years after Aang’s death to follow Korra, his successor as Avatar. That series ran between 2012-2014.

The stories of both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have continued on in graphic novel series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Star Dante Basco Needs the Series to Answer One Last Zuko Question

Avatar: The Last Airbender continues to be one of the most popular and beloved Nickelodeon animated series ever, and as it celebrates its 15th Anniversary, fans continue to ask for more. Although the original series received an official sequel taking place years after the events of the original with The Legend of Korra, and a few comic book outings exploring the characters a bit more, there are still quite a few questions fans have about how Aang and the other characters lived their lives following the end of that original series. It turns out some of the stars have questions too.

Speaking with ComicBook.com's Megan Peters, the star behind Zuko Dante Basco revealed some of the questions he'd like to see answered about Zuko's life following the end of the series. While some were answered with supplemental materials released after it ended, but he really wants to know about what happened with Zuko's love life.

As Basco explained, originally he had questions about the wherabouts of Zuko's mother, but those were answered in the comics, so that began to open up even more questions to him, "I mean I've kept up on the comics and whatnot, and Zuko's mom was a big question for a lot of people, and I love reading about it in the comics. My thing with Zuko is basically what happened to him and Mai, wrapping that relationship. Was he ever really in love with Katara[?] I'm always down to go back there. But those kind of things. Just fun, kind of, fun fan thing[s]."

Basco had an integral role in the original animated series, and it turns out that he has just as many questions as fans about how his character's future turned out. Basco truly cares deeply for Zuko even after all these years, and was wondering how the future live-action adaptation on Netflix will be shaping the character too. He was coy as to whether or not he's involved in the new series, but now fans know that Basco is thinking of all the fun fan theories along with the rest of us!

Nickelodeon hit it out of the park with Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the series is still just as fondly looked upon by fans as it was when it first debuted years ago. Now celebrating the franchise's 15th Anniversary, Avatar: The Last Airbender is still going to live on with a brand new live-action series coming to Netflix sometime in the near future. The creators behind the original animated series have been confirmed to return as showrunners for the new live-action adaptation, and various other crew members are starting to come together. ComicBook.com's Megan Peters recently had the opportunity to sit with the star behind Zuko, Dante Basco, and Basco revealed his initial thoughts about the new live-action work. While he has faith in the original creators doing a great job, Basco is wondering how the new series will be approaching Zuko's layered story in the original.

As Basco explains, "...I know [Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko] are involved, so I have a lot of trust in something beautiful that they'll create. But as far as the new Zuko as they do the adaptation, it's really...You've got to remember his story. You start back to the beginning and the story of redemption, so you got to give him places to grow. You have to start one place and then another place."

Basco breaks down how surprisingly important Basco's hair is to his story of growth too, "As funny as the hair is in the story, it's real. It's like he goes from being a bald headed kid with a ponytail to the end with the meanders, it's part of his journey. You kind of got to start in a very extreme place, which means he's got a crazy place in life...Remember the story of redemption that's start him off in an unlikable place. His background to me were to be not like to really go through that."

So it sounds like Basco has faith in the new series, but like fans, is wondering just how it will portray the longer character arcs that the original animated series is so well known for. K-Pop Supergroup Monsta X Records 'All That' Performance

K-pop supergroup and worldwide phenomenon Monsta X recently filmed a performance on Nickelodeon's legendary All That stage! The recording took place during their whirlwind two week tour of the U.S.


To celebrate, the group shared a selection of photos from their appearance on All That on their official Twitter feed, including with the band hanging out with the stars of All That. Monsta X's episode of Nickelodeon's hit sketch comedy series will air in the coming months.


The news comes as their brand new album ALL ABOUT LUV debuted at a very respectable No. 5 on the Billboard 200 Chart. “The set, which is the act’s first all-English language album, launches with 52,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 20, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Of that sum, 50,000 are in album sales,” reports Billboard.

The album makes history, with ALL ABOUT LUV marking the first all English-language album released by a K-pop group ever. This highly anticipated release has garnered a sky-rocketing trajectory of success

In order to celebrate the album's arrival, the group launched a series of sold out events across the U.S., as well as immersive activations, and television appearances on Nickelodeon’s All That, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and Today Show. The Monsta X U.S. takeover started in LA, from shutting down the Sunset Strip with police escorts riding in Jaguars, to hosting an ALL ABOUT LUV pop-up at the iconic Tower Records, and a fan event at the world-famous Roxy. Rolling Stone got a glimpse of the pandemonium stating: “you heard it in the screams of hundreds of sleep-deprived fans who packed the legendary Roxy Nightclub in Hollywood for a private Monsta X performance, and then snaked a line down four blocks of Sunset Boulevard.” The band wrapped up their two-week promotion on the East Coast, with more fan meetings, performances, live Q&A’s, and sold out events at Chelsea Music Hall, The Paramount, and YouTube Space NYC.

This summer, Monsta X kick off their biggest North American headline tour to date. Hitting arenas coast-to-coast, it begins June 2 in Minneapolis, MN at The Armory, rolling through major markets, and closes out at The Forum on July 11. Tickets are available here.

All That airs Saturdays at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. The series, a revival of Nickelodeon's iconic '90s sketch comedy show, was recently renewed for 10 additional episodes.

Kidrobot Announces SpongeBob & TMNT Donatello Bhunny Figures

Art toy company Kidrobot, best known for their stylized and bizarre vinyl figures and unique licensed offerings like Godzilla and Rick & Morty, has announced their new line of figures at Toy Fair 2020 with the much-anticipated Bhunny line!


Designed by world-renowned artist and Kidrobot Chief Creative Officer Frank Kozik, the series stylizes characters (and real people) from various properties with "distinctly oversized head and mini body" and Bhunny Paw accessory. Okosi took over leadership of BET International in 2017 and has continued to advance the value of the brand internationally delivering double-digit distribution growth and improving profitability and margins. Under Okosi’s leadership, BET International elevated its presence at the BET Awards by incorporating the “Best International Act” award into the live broadcast, which simulcasted live in Africa for the first time. Effective March 1, 2020, Monde Twala and Craig Paterson will assume their new roles as General Managers of VCN Africa.

Twala is currently the Vice President of ViacomCBS Networks Africa’s BET, Youth & Music, ViacomCBS Networks International and Africa. YouTube appoints Alex Okosi as MD of Emerging Markets

YouTube has appointed Alex Okosi as Managing Director of Emerging Markets for YouTube in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

It was a star-studded evening on February 8, 2020, at The Wings Event Space, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, as friends, colleagues, family members and stakeholders in the showbiz/media industry converged to honour Alex Okosi, the outgoing Executive Vice President and Managing Director of ViacomCBS Networks Africa and BET International.

Hosted by the duo of Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru-Demuren and ace comedian Bovi, the event was put together to celebrate Okosi for his significant contributions in reimagining Africa and transforming the media and entertainment industry since he took up the mantle of leadership on the continent 15 years ago.

For a man of Okosi’s stature, who has been instrumental to the growth and development of the industry in Africa, the impressive turn-out didn’t come as a surprise. In fact, it was expected; he has paid his dues.

Notable among guests were captains of industries, who collaborated with Okosi and his team in the last 15 years, including the Founder of Silverbird Group, Ben Murray-Bruce to the CEO of Megalectrics Ltd, Chris Ubosi; CEO Livespot360, Deola Art-Alade. Others are celebrities such as Rita Dominic, Michelle Dede, Nse Ikpe-Etim, comedian Basketmouth, Flavour, D’banj, 2Baba, Ice Prince, Falz, Dr Sid… it was indeed a star-studded evening.

“I feel thankful! Very grateful! I’m truly humbled. It means a great deal to me that everyone in the room showed up for me, and that I’ve had their support these past 15 years. Everyone in that room has been instrumental in the work that my team and I have done in contributing to the development of the entertainment and media industry in Africa,” excited Okosi said.

While extending his gratitude to his fellow colleagues, industry friends and guests for joining in the celebration, he said, “I’m truly comforted by knowing that we have a team, who can take on the task ahead with vigor and experience to carve a unique space together with you in ViacomCBS and African history. You all have the opportunity and power to continue to drive change, to create opportunities for our youth, the industry and our continent.”

Since launching MTV Base in 2005, Okosi has spearheaded the development of the business on the continent, which now delivers more channels to Africa than any other international network – reaching 100 million viewers in 48 territories across MTV, MTV base, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and BET. He bids ViacomCBS adieu after almost two decades at the helm of different roles including BET International at the global company.

Detailing his journey from an Intern in 1998 to Executive Vice President and Managing Director, the Anambra State native, who is moving to YouTube as Managing Director of Emerging Markets for YouTube in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said, “What began as a vision and a passion 15 years ago has been realised even beyond my initial expectations when we first pressed play to African Queen in February 2005. It’s taken a number of committed and hardworking people over the years to bring this dream to life and I’m immensely grateful for the industry trust and support as we forged forward to achieve the impossible.”

A graduate of St Michael’s College, Vermont, where he studied Business Administration and Economics, Okosi is an award winner of the Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013, an All Africa Business Leader Award Finalist in 2018, and an honorary Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing of Nigeria in 2019.

He took over leadership of BET International in 2017 and has continued to advance the value of the brand internationally delivering double-digit distribution growth and improving profitability and margins.

Under his leadership, BET International elevated its presence at the BET Awards by incorporating the Best International Act award into live broadcast, which simulcasted live in Africa for the first time. In addition, BET expanded its presence during the BET Hip Hop Awards by launching a new category to honour artists from around the world.

“I’m proud to have had the opportunity to build our Africa business from the ground up,” Okosi noted, adding, “This has played a pivotal role in transforming the music and content space and changing the narrative on Africa. Leading our Africa and BET International businesses to success is a testament to the extraordinary teams, colleagues and partners that I have worked with throughout my tenure. ViacomCBS has been my home for more than 20 fantastic years, and I leave behind incredible creative and commercial talent that will continue to deliver growth.”

Fifteen years ago, while Okosi was still working at the MTV Headtquaters in New York, his dream was to bring the brand back to motherland and help promote talents.

“From the very first day I walked into the MTV headquarters in New York as a coordinator, my vision was to take the MTV brand to my home continent; to showcase the youth culture and talent that the continent is blessed with to the rest of the world. I think I can say that I realised that vision and even more. What started as pitch to launch a localised TV channel in Africa quickly turned into a network with many channels that cater to millions of people in different demographics. We’ve also been able to inspire and empower millions of African creatives and entertainers,” he enthused.

Though MTV is a successful brand in Africa today, convincing the organisation to look towards the black continent in its content creation, wasn’t neccessarily an easy task. Thank to Okosi for his doggedness and insistence that Africa needs a platform to showcase her culture globally.

“It was difficult, and understandably so; this wasn’t due to lack of interest. At the time, Viacom was in every region in the world, except for Africa and internally, there was a lot of interest to complete the global picture. But no one was exactly excited about plunging into a continent of 54 countries and thousands of different languages and cultures. It seemed like too much of a risk considering all that and the political instabilities and infrastructural challenges the continent was faced with. But thankfully, after over 20 revisions of the original business plan, I was finally able to convince management about the potential and possibilities that abound in Africa,” he revealed.

No doubt, the coming of MTV brand to Africa in general and Nigeria in particular, played a vital role in setting standards for the music industry, especially when it comes to music videos, as artistes began to improve on the quality of their works to get aired on a global platform.

“When we finally got the go-ahead to launch in Africa, one of the biggest challenges we faced was that the quality of the available music videos wasn’t up to par with the brand’s requirements. We devised a formula to solve that problem by investing directly in training local talent and guiding them on how to make better videos. Today, our music videos are just as good as those from more developed parts of the world.”

He continued: “One of our major goals when we established MTV in Africa in 2005 was to show the world the beauty and talent that abound in the African continent through quality content and music videos. 15 years down the line, I think we can beat our chest and say we’ve achieved that. The world is finally paying attention, our talents are getting global recognition and selling out arenas all over the world. The industry may still have a long way to go, but it is nowhere near where we met it when we debuted in 2005.”

In 2008, Okosi and his team conceived the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) to celebrate the most popular contemporary music in the continent. The 2008 and 2010 events took place in Nigeria, first in Abuja and then in Lagos. By 2009, the glamourous show moved to Nairobi, Kenya. However, the award had a three-year hiatus, returning only in 2014 in Durban, South Africa, while the 2016 edition was hosted in Johannesburg.

Notwithstanding, what many didn’t know was that setting the award in motion was a tough task. In fact, the maiden edition held in Abuja actually caused Okosi to shed tears; things didn’t go exactly as planned.

“Not a lot of people know this, but the morning after the very first MAMAs in Abuja, I cried. Nothing in my plans quite prepared me for how bad some of the event experience was. Our saving grace was that it was not aired live and the TV production was actually good. Notwithstanding, We were still able to give the audience a great show. I say this to say that it wasn’t easy. None of it was easy, but we’ve been able to make it work in spite of all the hurdles,” he said.

Just when it looked like the MTV Africa was all about entertainment and red carpet, the brand in 2009 launched a multi-channel campaign in Kenya, MTV Shuga, which focuses on positive sexual health messaging for young people within the age bracket of 16 to 25. The central feature of the campaign is an award-winning TV series that has been aired in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa; the show is viewable throughout Africa (and worldwide) via social media and other sources, and has, till date, reached an audience of over 720 million, with a social media reach of about 118 million.

Since 2013, MTV Shuga was adapted for Nigeria, the campaign has used a 360-degree mass-media behaviour change design, which directed young people to, and promoted the use of HIV-testing and treatment services that were specifically designed for this population. This 360-degree approach meant that MTV Shuga had presence in the places where young people were most active.

The campaign fuses sexual-health messaging with gripping storylines, exploring the issues of sexual relationships between young people against a backdrop of continuing HIV infections in the continent.

“For MTV Shuga, the goal was to target young adults and educate them regarding HIV prevention, self-testing and reproductive health. MTV Shuga fuses hard-hitting storylines with sexual health messages to influence viewers’ attitudes and behaviour. With Shuga, we established ourselves as the media industry’s gold standard in behaviour-change campaigns,” Okosi hinted.

His tenure also facilitated the partnership between MTV Networks Africa and MTN for a groundbreaking pan-African multimedia campaign, MTV Base Meets… with MTN. The programme is an African localised version of the established MTV Meets… franchise that has previously interviewed influential individuals, including Nelson Mandela, Tony Blair, Morgan Tsvangarai and Wyclef Jean.

Designed to inspire African youth by connecting them with some of the world’s most influential personalities, the programme is an 8-part youth empowerment initiative and TV series that creates a dialogue between young people and the political, business and cultural leaders, who shape the world today.

The intimate documentary series allowed Africa’s young minds to put probing questions to influential, inspirational and sometimes controversial individuals. Among the eminent people, who featured in the series are former Liberian President Madame Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Mr Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda and South African politician Mr Julius Malema (President of the ANC Youth League) and many African leaders and influencers, who exercise a significant impact on the continent.

For the show, diverse panels of young people representing different youth interests were assembled from across the African continent, with participants coming from Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, South Africa and Uganda and others. Young, but well-informed, the panelists were articulate, engaging, provocative and opinionated on a range of complex subjects – be it HIV/AIDS, global warming, education, poverty, corruption or entrepreneurship. Fearless with attitude, their no-holds-barred approach made for exciting television viewing, as they fired big questions to the influential people whose actions and opinions have a direct impact on their lives.

“The idea is to connect African youth with the thought leaders, opinion formers, decision makers and role models who shape their world. We strongly believe in entertainment and education and these are ever present in any project we embark on,” Okosi said.

Then, there was NickeFest [NickFest], which has been hosted three times in Lagos. Though conceived as a platform for kids, the project has turned out to be a family show.

“Nickelodeon is a firm favourite for family entertainment globally. When we did the first edition, all we wanted to do was to bring happiness and fun to kids and their parents in Nigeria. From 2017 to date, we have organised three editions successfully, each recording over 4,000 attendees. We’ve been able to pull this off because of the incredible show of support from parents, children, our partners and local artistes and creatives.”

Call Okosi ‘Nigerian Ambassodor,’ then you won’t be entirely wrong; he’s proudly Nigerian. All through his career, he remains a strong believer in Nigeria and has represented the country globally. “I strongly believe in representing the country to the best of my ability whenever I have the opportunity to. I’m a Nigerian through and through, and this further inspires me to be a good representative of the country everywhere I go.”

As for the usual negative stereotypes about Nigeria and Nigerians, Okosi believes the narrative is gradually changing.“You will agree with me that the perception about Nigeria is changing. Maybe when I was younger and still an undergraduate, there were lots of negative stereotypes about Africans, but this is gradually changing,” he noted.

Asked for how he copes with his tasking job and being a family man, the Onitsha-born media expert said, “Family comes first in everything I do; every decision I make is always with them in mind. And I think that they know this, so, they are very understanding when I have to be away for a while, or when I’m up late working. Also, as an executive, having a loving family offers one the much needed therapy and strength to survive the tough world of business. I couldn’t have achieved any of what I did in my career without the love and support of my family.”

As for his most memorable moments with ViacomCBS Networks, he explained, “I have had lots of memorable experiences since I joined the company. I mean, we have been creating magic and challenging ourselves since day one. But if I am to pick my most memorable experience, that will have to be the day we launched MTV Base in Africa. It was a vision that I had had for a long time, and I was very happy when it came to fruition in February 2005,” he enthused.

No doubt, Okosi latest appointment with YouTube connects strongly with his outstanding performance as the face of MTV brand in Africa.“I believe my experience and the work that my team and I have done at ViacomCBS Networks Africa definitely would have been a factor,” he confirmed.

With entertainment experience amassed across three continents in over 21 years, Alex Okosi spoke about his humble beginning in Enugu, his family, and how travelling to America at the age of 12 in pursuit of academic excellence changed the course of his life for the better.

Alex also shared details of his early days in America, living in a gang-infested neighbourhood. In his words “It was like the wild wild west out there”, and he had to move out of that neighbourhood after the death of his friend. He also talked about playing basketball, living with a foster mother, and how a knee injury ended his dream of playing in the NBA.

On the launch of MTV in Africa, he said the goal at that time was to have Africans appreciate Africa. Alex, who achieved a personal and industry milestone when he identified a business gap for youth music and lifestyle channel in Africa, developed the business plan and launched Viacom’s first localised channel in Africa, MTV Base, in 2005.

Alex Okosi shared some exclusive stories about the early days of MTV in Africa, the challenges faced in building the business and the people behind the scenes that have made the company successful.

Nigerian music superstars Teni and DJ Cuppy have been nominated for the Favourite African Star and Social Media Star respectively in Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020. The event, which will be hosted by American Rapper Chance The Rapper, will take place at the Forum in Inglewood, California on Sunday, 22 March 2020 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT), simulcasting live on Nickelodeon in the U.S. and YTV in Canada, as well as stream across Nickelodeon's YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter handles and channels. Within hours of the live show, KCA 2020 will roll-out on Nickelodeon channels internationally, providing kids around the world in more than 170 countries and territories a front row seat to all the stunts, surprises and slime! In Africa, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 will broadcast on Nick Toons (DStv Channel 308) on Monday, 23 March 2020 at 17:30 CAT, 24 hours after the event in the USA. The show will also be repeated on Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305) on Wednesday, 25 March 2020 at 18:00 CAT.

Also nominated are international superstars Will Smith, Beyonce, Kelvin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran, Angelina Jolie and many more. Leading the pack with the most nominations are Avengers: Endgame, with 11 nominations; Taylor Swift, with five nominations; and Frozen 2, Henry Danger and Lil Nas X, with four nominations each. First-time nominees include Teni, DJ Cuppy, John Cena, DaBaby, Tiffany Haddish, Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion. With his nomination in the Favourite Movie Star category, Will Smith becomes the most nominated celebrity in Kids’ Choice Awards history, with the nomination this year bringing him to a total of 29 nominations.

Last year, Nigerian music star Davido was nominated in the Favourite Global Music Star category, while Adesua Etomi-Wellington and IK Osakioduwa were nominated in the Favourite African Star category.

'Aunty Shamilla' nominated in Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award

Durban - INTERNET sensation Preven Reddy has been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, in the African Social Star category.
Having merged stand-up comedy with his experience in filmmaking, Reddy has garnered thousands of followers on social media.

His most popular alter-ego is his portrayal of his mother as “Aunty Shamilla”.

“I knew that the internet was where entertainment was going and I wanted to find a way to make a career out of it.”

The online antics led to Reddy, of Queensburgh, performing at several sold-out shows in South Africa.

“Aunty Shamilla was never supposed to happen. In the first video I did of her, she did not have a name or a back story. I just had an idea to create a video about what happened between my mom and I earlier that day and, before I knew it, so many people related to that situation. They also liked the way I portrayed my mother.”

After reading the positive comments, he decided to hone down on the character.

“And I eventually turned that character into Aunty Shamilla.”

A day before Valentine’s Day, Reddy received a call from the Nickelodeon team. He was told he was nominated for a Kids Choice Award.

Nickelodeon is an American pay television network, launched in 1977 as the first cable channel for children.

“I still cannot believe it’s real. I got to do some stuff at the Nickelodeon pop-ups at Comic Con last year and it was really fun. But I did not expect this. I cried for a solid 10 minutes.”

He said, while in primary and high school, he used to watch the awards with his grandmother.

Reddy added that, at the start of every year, he made a vision board - where he set goals and visualised where he wanted to be by the end of the year.

“This year, I stuck a logo of Nickelodeon on the vision board. I knew I wanted to work with them or be a part of that fun world. And a month later - here we are.”

Reddy added that African categories were fairly new and that a friend went through previous nominees, as well as winners, only to find there were no Indian South Africans.

His message to his fans: “Thank you to everyone who have supported and been a part of this journey with me. This feels like the beginning and I would love to bring this award home to South Africa.”

The other nominees in the category are: Anne Kansiime, Chanè Grobler and DJ Cuppy.

The nominees in the Favourite African Star category are: Patricia Kihoro, Shekhinah, Sho Madjozi and Teni.

DURBAN comedian Prev Reddy said he was so happy that he cried at being nominated for the prestigious Nickelodeon 2020 Kids’ Choice Awards.
Durban - Aunty Shamilla, Durban actor and comedian Prev Reddy’s alter ego, will be shaking things up with some of Africa’s top stars as she vies for a top Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.
Reddy has been nominated in the Favourite Social Star (Africa) category and was taken by surprise when he heard about the nomination.

“I screamed and cried,” he said when he got the news.

The Kids’ Choice Awards is one of the most popular awards on the awards calendar and belongs to international pay television network Nickelodeon.

This year’s awards, to be held on March22, will be its 33rd edition.

For Reddy, being nominated was a huge achievement. He is the only KwaZulu-Natal representative among the SA Nickelodeon nominees.

Also flying the national flag are musicians Shekhinah, Sho Madjozi and vlogger Chané Grobler in the Favourite African Star and Favourite Social Media Star (Africa) categories respectively.

Reddy will be competing with Grobler, Ugandan entertainer Anne Kansiime and Nigerian disc jockey DJCuppy for the Favourite Social Media Star (Africa) category.

“I used to watch the Kids’ Choice Awards with my gran as a child,” Reddy recalled. The 24-year-old said it had been his goal for the year that he would do something that involved Nickelodeon. His family were also in shock and happy about the nomination, Reddy said.

He was thrilled about the nomination because it also meant that his work was being recognised abroad.

Reddy’s videos on social media have been viewed thousands of times. He said the nomination validated his work, but this did not mean he would be resting on his laurels: “I can push and take it to the next level.”

Winners this year will be partly determined by the number of votes they receive. Reddy urged people to go to the Nickelodeon website (https://kca.nickelodeonafrica.com/vote/) and vote for him.

A new indoor play park has opened at Lakeside in Essex, bringing many Nickelodeon favourites to life.

If you've got kids, then chances are they're into at least one of the Nickelodeon shows, which are shown on FIVE, as well as streaming services. Nickelodeon owns PAW Patrol, Dora the Explorer, Shimmer and Shine, SpongeBob SquarePants and many other undisputed masterpieces of the televisual arts.

These much-loved characters are now holding court at Lakeside shopping centre, just outside the M25 in Thurrock.

Nickelodeon Adventure is divided into four zones, which sound either enormously good fun or a bit weird, depending on your attitude to such things:

SATURDAY saw the official opening of children’s indoor adventure experience Nickelodeon Adventure, within a new leisure development at intu Lakeside, Thurrock.


Part of the 175,000 sq ft leisure-led extension to the popular shopping destination, the 2,000 capacity Nickelodeon Adventure Park is the product of a multi-million-pound investment from Spanish operator Parques Reunidos.


The first of its kind in the U.K., Nickelodeon Adventure encapsulates an indoor space of over 50,000 square feet.
The park is built around four themed play zones, each of which features key characters from the Nickelodeon portfolio, including PAW Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Nickelodeon's hit comedy series Henry Danger may be approaching its final world-saving adventure. The series, which will conclude its five-season run this spring, follows teen Henry Hart (Jace Norman) who takes on the role of sidekick to Swellview’s greatest superhero, Captain Man (Cooper Barnes).


Fans at Kidz Expo presented by StarNews Media in Wilminghton, NC recently got the chance to meet Henry Danger star Sean Ryan Fox, who plays Jasper Dunlop, Henry’s best friend and confidante on the show. Before the expo and the final run of Henry Danger episodes, Fox spoke with StarNews Media about what he’ll miss about the show, what to expect from the last episodes and why he wants his next chapter to be on the big screen. StarNews: With “Henry Danger” coming to end, what can you share about the final episodes?

Sean Ryan Fox: They are definitely some of our best. Out of all the "Henry Danger” series, these are some of our best work, the best writing, and us as actors got to play with our characters and have fun with it. There are some really cool things that go on, but I can’t say much about it because we want to keep it a secret for fans. But we definitely tie in multiple episodes, where before we had a lot of (standalone) episodes that didn’t connect to anything. This season, we really tie it all together and it ends up being a really cool product.

SN: Knowing that the end is on the horizon, did that give you and your fellow cast members some motivation to play around with your characters and do things you’ve always wanted to do?

SRF: If there were any jokes or pitches that we wanted to do, we definitely throw them in there. We played around with some of the things the writers do as well, because they were writing some stuff for us to do now that it is the end – and we definitely got to play around with it. We wanted to try some new things before we finished, for sure.

SN: The show will have aired more than 100 episodes when it’s all said and done. Looking back on it, what will you take away most from playing Jasper?

SRF: It was a fun experience and I built a family from it in a way, and that stage, in a way, is like a home for me. It was really good to experience being a lead on a show for a long period of time. But I think I will just take away memories of the family we built on that set.

SN: Is that what you will miss most about “Henry Danger,” the on-set family?

SRF: Yeah, that set has become a home for me. I went back recently to observe some stuff and it still feels like home, like you lived there in a sense. We will miss the family aspect, where we can all joke around and just love each other. The cast and the crew is what I will miss the most.

SN: Knowing where the show ends up, do you think fans will be satisfied with Captain Man and Kid Danger’s final missions?

SRF: For sure! I think where the show ends, it leaves some really cool ideas on the table that, whether they get expanded upon or not, I think fans will really love. The great things about endings is that, as long as they are open-ended, fans can always create more with fan fiction. But I think the end is very well done and fans are going to like it.

SN: I know fans have been clamoring for a “Henry Danger” movie. Is that something you would want to be a part of if it happened?

SRF: Definitely! If there was some time between the movie and when we finished the show, I think that would be a good reunion for us as a cast. I think it would be fun as a final adventure. I’ve always thought a big hurrah would be a movie and I think that would be cool to kind of finish it off.

SN: So what lies beyond “Henry Danger” for you? What do you want with this next stage of your career?

SRF: I’m back out in the field auditioning for stuff. I don’t know if I’d do another TV show or at least another sitcom. I would have to really like it. But I’m definitely trying to go into movies that are a little bit shorter amounts of time. I’ve spent six years on one set. As fun as it was, I think a three or six-month shoot for a movie is definitely where I am at right now. Definitely in the movie department.

SN: So your fans should look for you on the big screen?

SRF: That’s the plan!

SN: What do you like about doing these expos and events like what you will be doing in Wilmington on Feb. 22 at the Kidz Expo?

SRF: I think it is the interaction with the fans. I remember when I was super young and watched these shows on Disney Channel or Nick, and idolized these stars. You are star struck when you see them, and I remember that when I was younger. So it is always cool to see these kids who are super fans of the show and so excited to meet us, and the older people who grew up with the show. I just like hearing everyone’s stories. It’s so cool!

Animation Luminaries from Nickelodeon, Disney and Sony Share Entertainment Wisdom

The Entertainment and Tourism Club (ETC) held a panel featuring five professionals in the animation industry at the Titan Student Union theatre on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Creators from Nickelodeon, Disney, Dreamworks and Sony came to share what they learned over the years to students interested in following in their footsteps.


The ETC is all about helping students get their feet in the door within the industry. The club offers a variety of different assets, such as resume building, networking opportunities, internship opportunities, TV tapings and company tours.

The club invites experts with various areas of focus, such as business or creativity, for panels throughout the semester. This particular event was based on the creative side of the business, and it focused mainly on the animation industry.

The panelists discussed the importance of networking and how essential connecting is in order to thrive in the industry.

Paul Jun, co-founder & CEO of Filmocracy, regrets not understanding the value of networking at an early age. He used to only network when he needed a job; it wasn’t a constant in his early career.

“There’s a new startup mantra that goes around saying make friends, not contacts,” Jun said.

Jun also alluded to the fact that networking is more like tending to a garden than collecting a bunch of cards when you need them.

Jun wasn’t the only panelist echoing the importance of networking.“The idea of making friends and not contacts is super valid and important. The advice that I kind of wish I knew is you’re not going to be friends with everybody,” said Sean Gantka, a Associate Producer at Nickelodeon Animation (The Legend of Korra, The Loud House, The Casagrandes).

Despite forming good relationships with many people, there are some people he is unable to connect with. “It’s about having those genuine connections that matter,” said Gantka. When it comes to finding help for projects, he often works with the friends he’s made by networking.

The panelists also shared the reality that comes from beginning a career in entertainment and animation.

Artists go into the field hoping to create their own work and develop their own projects. Gantka made it clear to the students that the reality of working for a large company means they begin their careers working on other people’s projects.

“When I get interns that come in, they’re like, ‘I want to create my own show.’ That’s awesome! What are you going to do for the 20 years before that?” said Gantka.

Gantka has seen creativity die when an artist’s expectations are not met, so he felt it was important that the audience understood what they were getting themselves into.

Working in Animation comes with a lot of stress and problem-solving, so Miguel Baltazar, an animator at Dreamworks, enjoys being able to be silly at work. At the Dreamworks office, animators have nerf gun battles that help alleviate their stress.

“It’s a way not to take ourselves too seriously — to have that flexibility to let loose and have fun,” Baltazar said.

The speakers at the event also highlighted the importance of seeing the meaning behind previous work or educational experiences. Sean Gantka discussed how important it is to not see past work involvement at face value.

“Don’t look at like, ‘Oh, I’m flipping burgers,’ but what are you doing? You’re assembling something. You’re working as a team. Look at the greater skill sets and understand whatever it is you’re doing and how it will make you better at whatever you’re going to do,” Gantka said.

Another heavily discussed subject was satisfaction from work. The panelists discussed how much they love their job and going to work every morning, but how it is still hard work.

“It’s similar to a relationship. There’s going to be hardships. You’re not always going to agree. You’re going to hate each other once and awhile. But ultimately, the good parts of it heavily outweigh and outnumber the bad ones, and then you know it’s a pretty good relationship,” Gantka said.

The amount of stress they experience regularly does not take from the love they have for working in such a creative environment.

When people become adults, they lose their sense of childhood, but their career allows them to bring it back, Baltazar said.

Things are going to get awkward and PLOT TWISTY in the brand new two-part Henry Danger special "Sister Twister", premiering Friday 28th February 2020 from 5:00 p.m. (AEDT) on Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand!


In "Sister Twister Part 1", packages are being stolen from Swellview porches. Henry (Jace Norman) and Ray (Cooper Barnes) setup a stake-out in an attempt to catch the thief red-handed! When Captain Man wants Kid Danger to wear matching capes, he makes a huge mistake. Now it looks like their secret might be revealed because Henry’s sister Piper (Ella Anderson) is going DOWN the tube!

Then in "Sister Twister Part 2", when Ray's memories accidentally get erased, Schwoz (Michael D. Cohen) devises a plan to send Henry deep inside Ray's brain to get them back.

Chicos y grandes fascinados con el stand de Nickelodeon


El espacio del canal de dibujitos animados fue furor para sacarse fotos y disfrutar de los juegos.

La Feria Temática de la Fiesta Nacional del Sol 2020, que se realiza en el Costanera Predio Ferial, comenzó este martes con el debut de algunos stand como es el caso del canal Nickelodeon, de la empresa multimedios Viacom CBS.

Grandes y chicos pasan por el espacio donde se ven figuras representativas del canal como Bob Esponja y su amigo Patricio. Todos los que quieran disfrutar del stand podrán hacerlo de manera gratuita.

Cuenta con dos escenario uno de Nickelodeon y otro de Nick Jr. Además, presentan la plataforma digital Noggin destinada a niños y regalan códigos para uso gratuito de la App por 7 días.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--Feb. 19, 2020--Kid rapper and pint-sized powerhouse Young Dylan will join the Nickelodeon family with the premiere of the brand-new live-action series, Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 8:30 (ET/PT). Executive produced, directed and written by Perry, the series follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, Young Dylan (Dylan Gilmer), an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced. Michelle Sneed is also an executive producer, with Will Areu and Mark E. Swinton serving as producers. The series is currently in production at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Ga.

In Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, Dylan’s grandmother Viola (Aloma Wright) realizes that raising her grandson is too much to take on, so she decides to send him to live indefinitely with her affluent son Myles Wilson (Carl Anthony Payne II), his wife Yasmine (Mieko Hillman) and their two kids Rebecca (Celina Smith) and Charlie (Hero Hunter). Suddenly, the Wilson family household needs to adapt as lifestyles clash between rising hip-hop star Young Dylan and his straight-laced cousins. From Dylan giving Charlie, Rebecca, and her best friend Bethany (Jet Miller), lessons in “swag” and street smarts, to learning that even rappers have rules in the Wilson house, the series follows the hilarious hijinks this family faces as they try to get on the same beat.


Nickelodeon’s partnership with Perry is part of his long-term pact with ViacomCBS, producing original series for BET Networks (The Oval and Sistas) and other ViacomCBS networks, with exclusive licensing rights on this programming. Additionally, Perry recently announced his joint venture with BET Networks for the new streaming video on demand service BET+. Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan marks Perry’s first kids’ scripted series.

Born and raised in Annapolis, Md., Gilmer is known for his many appearances and performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at NBA All-Star Weekend. He will next appear at Nickelodeon SlimeFest, a two-day family-friendly music festival on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. Gilmer has an overall talent deal with Telepictures, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Television, and has previously guest starred on the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit series All That.

Gilmer is represented by Sherry Kayne of The Green Room and Chris Abramson at Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson.

The production of Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan for Nickelodeon is overseen by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live-Action Scripted Content. Brian Banks serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.

Tyler Perry’s “Young Dylan” gets premiere date on Nickelodeon

It’s been a number of months since Tyler Perry dropped the best news 5th-grade rapper Young Dylan (Dylan Gilmer) had ever heard. Perry stopped by Dylan’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to let him know that the little charmer would be the star of his very own show on Nickelodeon and that Perry would write, direct and executive produce. Not bad for the ripe old age of 10!

Young Dylan is the story of a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced.

Young Dylan will be Perry’s first scripted series for kids and is part of the ViacomCBS deal penned in 2018 that has brought multiple series to BET Networks like The Oval and Sistas. It also led to a partnership with BET Networks in their streaming service BET Plus, soon to launch the series Ruthless and Bruh

HOW TO MAKE Mac n' Cheese Bites from THE LOUD HOUSE! | Feast Of Fiction


What's up Feasters! Today's Mac and Cheese Bites will leave you salivating and day dreaming all day just like Lincoln from The Loud House.

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups of elbow macaroni
1/4 cup butter
1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup whole milk
1 cup sharp white cheddar, shredded
1/2 cup Gruyere shredded
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs beaten
3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
velveeta cheese for injecting

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cook the macaroni noodles for slightly less than according to package directions and drain.
2. Melt butter into a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour and salt. Turn heat up to medium-low, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly.
3. Slowly whisk in milk into the flour mixture, whisking constantly, until sauce is smooth. Bring sauce to a boil; reduce to low heat and simmer for 1 minute.
4. Stir in the shredded cheeses. Continue to cook, while stirring, until cheese is melted.
5. Remove from heat and fold the pasta into the cheese sauce.
6. Coat a large silicone ice cube tray with non-stick cooking oil and add the mac and cheese. Let cool for 30 mins, then chill in the fridge for at least 30 mins.
7. Place flour, eggs, and bread crumbs in 3 separate shallow bowls. Dredge each macaroni and cheese bite: coat bite lightly with flour, dip in eggs, then coat with bread crumbs.
8. Heat oil in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Cook about half of the bites at one time, frying bites for 1-1 1/2 minutes per side. Drain bites on paper towels and inject with velveeta. Serve immediately.
