Nick Greenlights Season Five of Animated Hit The Loud House with 26-Episode Pick-up

BURBANK, Calif.-May 7, 2019-Eugenio Derbez (Overboard), Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken) and Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) have joined the cast of Nickelodeon’s upcoming original animated series The Casagrandes, which tells the story of the Casagrandes, a big, loving and multi-generational family living together in the city. A companion to the Emmy Award-winning, The Loud House, the new 2D-animated series highlights the culture, humor, and love of growing up in a multi-generational Mexican-American family. The series is set to debut October 2019 on Nickelodeon.

“The Casagrandes highlights the humorous stories and moments of daily life that every kind of family can relate to, and we’re thrilled to have Eugenio, Melissa and Ken on board to make these characters as relatable and funny as can be,” said Ramsey Naito, EVP, Animation Production and Development, Nickelodeon. “Nickelodeon will also continue to dive deeper into the characters’ lives in The Loud House, a proven hit with our audience, with a brand-new fifth season.”

Said Derbez: “When I was approached to be part of The Casagrandes, it was an easy yes. It’s culturally specific but will appeal to any kid. It’s outrageous and funny and has heart. This is what a LatinX kid show should look like, big fun and mainstream with some Latin spice. I’m grateful to Nickelodeon for asking me to be a part of it.”

Said Hart: “I will finally be a hero in my own home now that I get to be a part of The Casagrandes animated show. My boys have been huge fans of The Loud House and this is the first project of mine they are truly excited to see.”

In The Casagrandes, Derbez lends his voice as Dr. Santiago, a physician living and working in Peru, who is Ronnie Anne and Bobby’s father; Jeong voices Mr. Stanley Chang, a friendly and patient train conductor; and Hart voices Mrs. Becca Chang, a quirky, smart and funny zoologist and wife to Stanley.

Izabella Alvarez (Westworld) voices the title role of 11-year-old Ronnie Anne, joining Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush) who continues to lend his voice as Bobby. Additional new cast members include Leah Mei Gold (Legion) as 12-year-old Sid Chang, Ronnie Anne’s new friend, and Lexi Sexton as Adelaide Chang, Sid’s 6-year-old little sister.

In The Casagrandes, Ronnie Anne’s new life promises to be an adventure, especially now that she lives under one roof with her grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins, and a sass-talking parrot. As if that weren’t enough excitement, she lives over the family-run Mercado, which is a gathering place for everyone in the neighborhood.

Derbez, Jeong and Hart will portray these new characters alongside: Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParents) as Carlos, Roxana Ortega (The League) as Frida, Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids) as Carlota, Jared Kozak (Born this Way) as CJ, Alex Cazares (The Boss Baby: Back in Business) as Carl; Ruben Garfias (East Los High) as Hector, “Abuelo;” Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street) as Rosa, “Abuela;” and Sumalee Montano (Nashville) as Maria.

Nickelodeon has also greenlit a fifth season (26 episodes) of The Loud House, where big changes are on the horizon. In season five, Lincoln and his friends’ graduate elementary school and face new challenges and adventures as they tackle the trials and tribulations of middle school, each sister moves up a grade and Lori decides if she’s ready to leave home for college. The new season will also showcase holiday themed episodes, introduce new characters, locations and more.

Season four of The Loud House kicks-off Monday, May 27, at 1:00 p.m. (ET/PT) with a special half-hour episode dedicated to the Casagrande family. In The Loud House featuring The Casagrandes, “Friended!” Ronnie Anne makes friends with Sid, a girl whose family wants to rent the apartment upstairs. When it looks like another couple might get it first, the girls resort to sabotage to dissuade them. Season four premieres continue Monday, June 10, through Thurs., June 13, at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT) and Monday, June 17, through Thurs., June 20, at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

The Casagrande family was first introduced in the The Loud House special, “The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos.” The family appeared throughout the third season of The Loud House and have a five-episode arc coming up in season four, with crossover episodes also planned in season five. The Loud House debuted May 2016 and centers on 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of a huge family.

The Loud House is currently executive produced by Mike Rubiner (KaBlam!). Karen Malach serves as producer and Kyle Marshall is supervising producer. The Casagrandes is also executive produced by Rubiner, with Malach as producer. Award-winning cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz (Coco) serves as a cultural consultant and consulting producer and Alan Forman is supervising producer.

Nickelodeon Russia Invites Viewers To Vote For What They Want To Watch With 'Дню самоуправления' 2019

Every year, Nickelodeon Russia (Россия) declares the 1st June as Дню самоуправления, a day in which Nickelodeon hands over the airwaves to kids, allowing viewers to pick that days schedule via online voting, and this year, Дню самоуправления is back, bigger and better than ever before!


For Дню самоуправления 2019, kids can choose Nickelodeon's schedule for Saturday 1st June 2019 in two stages:

-- Between Tuesday 7th and Monday 20th May 2019, kids can visit the official Дню самоуправления website, tvoyden.nickelodeon.ru and choose which shows they want to watch on Saturday 1st June 2019, selecting one show for each hour of the broadcast day.

- Additionally, whilst on the Дню самоуправления 2019 website, children across Russia are invited to create and tell Nick about their dream animated series. The winning ideas for a brand-new animated series will win a brand-new tablet for drawing with!

-- Between Tuesday 21st and Monday 27th May 2019, viewers will be invited to visit tvoyden.nickelodeon.ru and vote for their favourite fan-made schedules, with the results determining the final schedule for Saturday 1st June 2019!

Everyone who participates will receive a special Programme Director's Certificate, and every 100th participant will receive a exclusive puzzle featuring fan-favourite Nickelodeon characters!

2019 marks the sixth anniversary of Nickelodeon's Дню самоуправления campaign, timed to coincide with International Children's Day. Such an initiative allows the channel to better understand the preferences of its young viewers, giving them the opportunity to choose their favourite programmes for one whole day, as well as helping them better understand the profession of program director.

In addition to Дню самоуправления, Nickelodeon Россия regularly organises and supports campaigns that allow children to unleash their full creative potential. One of these initiatives is "We Need Your Voice", a unique interactive project on Russian television in which viewers can learn how animated characters are given their voices, and allows viewers the opportunity to dub characters with their own voices.

In addition to Дню самоуправления, Nickelodeon Россия also conducts a number of pro-social activities - which is one of the priorities of the television channel. Among Nickelodeon Россия's projects are "Правила интернет-безопасности" ("Internet Security Rules"), which teaches kids, tweens and teens how to effectively use modern technologies and about the dangers that can be found online; The "Earth Day" ("День земли") initiative, dedicated to educating viewers on how they can help the environment and protect nature; "Вместе к лучшему" ("Together For Good"), which, in partnership with a public organisation, touches on the important issues of society, from environmental safety to homelessness problems. Nickelodeon Italy (Italia) has announced the aweslime news that, following the tremendous success of their first three SLIMEFEST events in 2016, 2017 and 2018, SLIMEFEST will be back in 2019, bigger slimier than ever before!

After the great success of last year, the fourth Italian edition of Nickelodeon SlimeFest will be held for a second year in a row at Mirabilandia, Italy's largest amusement park, located in Ravenna on Saturday 15th June 2019, kicking off at 16.00 with a preshow full of games and activities.

Mirabilandia is a place loved by both adults and children alike, providing fun for the whole family, thanks to its Guinness World Record holding attractions and its new Ducati World area.


SLIMEFEST 2019 Italia will be hosted by Federica Carta, a singer who is well known by fans of SlimeFest. At SLIMEFEST 2018 Italia, Federica treated fans to a duet with Shade, performing his Triple Platinum certified single "Irraggiungibile", which to date has had over 100 million views.

Last year Federica was chosen to open some of Laura Pausini's concerts in Rome, Rimini, Verona and Eboli, respectively. In December, the song "Mondovisione" from the soundtrack of the new film with Paola Cortellesi, La Befana vien di notte (The Legend of the Christmas Witch), was published on digital platforms. In 2019, Federica and Shade took part in Sanremo Music Festival 2019 with the competing song "Senza farlo apposta", a hit with over 18 million views. On Friday 15th February 2019, "Popcorn", a new album composed of 7 tracks was released, debuting in 3rd place in the official FIMI charts.

Nickelodeon’s brand-new animated preschool series, Abby Hatcher (created and produced by Spin Master Entertainment), tells the story of a little girl with a big heart who helps her friends, the amazing and quirky Fuzzly creatures, fix their mishaps, learn from their mistakes and negotiate their emotions. Launching on Nick Jr. Benelux on Monday 27th May 2019 at 15:35 uur on Nick Jr. Netherlands (Nederland) and Nick Jr. Belgium (België; Flanders), Abby Hatcher (26 episodes) features a social-emotional curriculum highlighting empathy, compassion and problem-solving skills. Following launch, new episodes of Abby Hatcher will continue to air weekdays at 15:35 uur on the Nick Jr. channel in the Netherlands and Belgium.

In Abby Hatcher, Abby is an eternally optimistic, kind-hearted seven-year-old girl who loves to lend a helping hand to others and accepts everyone--no matter how different they are. In Abby’s world, humans coexist with Fuzzlies, incredible creatures that each have their own unique abilities that make them special, and Abby’s parents’ hotel is home to many. Together with her best Fuzzly friend Bozzly, Abby goes on wild adventures to fix Fuzzly mishaps and help them in any way she can. In the series premiere of Abby Hatcher, “When Abby Met Bozzly/Hair Flair Everywhere,” Abby meets the best friend of her dreams, a fuzzly named Bozzly, for the first time. Then, when the hotel’s salon owner Mrs. Melvin closes the salon for the day, Abby tries to help Harriet, a hair-obsessed Fuzzly, find a new hobby, when all she really wants is to style. In additional new episodes, Mo and Bo are mistaken for a snow monster, and, after taking a tumble, Otis suffers a fear of heights and becomes scared to use his elevator.


Abby Hatcher made its world debut on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, and will be rolling out on Nickelodeon’s international channels and branded blocks throughout 2019. The series also airs on TVO and Knowledge in Canada.

Abby Hatcher is the ninth series from Spin Master Entertainment and follows on the success of PAW Patrol. The new series is overseen by executive producers Ronnen Harary and Laura Clunie.

Nickelodeon Benelux will start to premiere and show the second season of Droomkamers, the networks hit room makeover series in which kids receive the bedrooms of their dreams, every Sunday at 18:30 uur from Sunday 23rd September 2018 on Nickelodeon Netherlands (Nederland) and Nickelodeon Belgium (België; Flanders)!

Droomkamers season two will once again put extraordinary kids who have earned a treat in the limelight. Nominated by their best friends and relatives, Droomkamers will surprise even more deserving children with a bedroom makeover!

Droomkamers season two will be presented by returning host Iris Hesseling (Het Huis Anubis) and newcomer, Flemish presenter Wout Verstappen. Nickelodeon viewers will recognise Wout from Nickelodeon Benelux's hit series Ghost Rockers, in which he portrayed Alex.

Each week, Iris will treat one lucky kid with a fun day out! However, that's not the main surprise! While each weeks lucky kid is having the time of their life, Wout and a group of the child's friends are secretly hard at work back at their home giving them a real dream bedroom, made by their best friends! Be it a room with a private beach and balcony, or a winter room complete with snow machine, there are no limits on bedroom designs!

This season of Droomkamers will feature lots of fun, beautiful friendships and special stories and will be packed full of creativity! Among the bedroom themes featured in season two will be: a make-up studio; a outer space-themed room; and a Nachtwacht room, inspired by the hit Nickelodeon series! Plus, in one episode, a special international guest star will be present at the unveiling of the room!

Droomkamers was one of the most popular programmes on Nickelodeon Benelux in 2017, and the programme has been nominated to win the prestigious Gouden Stuiver 2018 award! Wout Verstappen en Iris Hesseling presenteren samen weer een seizoen vol mooie verrassingen


In het tweede seizoen van het Viacom/Nickelodeon programma Droomkamers, worden opnieuw bijzondere kinderen in het zonnetje gezet. Opgegeven door hun beste vriendjes en vriendinnetjes, worden kinderen die het echt verdienen, verrast met een toffe make-over van hun slaapkamer. Het programma wordt dit seizoen gepresenteerd door Iris Hesseling en de Vlaamse presentator Wout Verstappen. Wout is onder andere bekend van Ghost Rockers, een serie die eerder te zien was op Nickelodeon.

Met een smoes voor een leuk uitje gaat Iris op pad met de nietsvermoedende kandidaat, terwijl Wout samen met de vriendjes en vriendinnetjes in het geheim aan de slag gaat om de kamer om te toveren. Het uitje blijkt natuurlijk niet de enige verrassing te zijn; bij thuiskomst wacht het kind een nog veel grotere surprise, een echte droomkamer! Gemaakt door zijn of haar allerbeste vrienden.

Dit seizoen belooft weer veel afleveringen vol creativiteit, lol, mooie vriendschappen en bijzondere verhalen. Zo worden de kamers omgetoverd tot bijvoorbeeld een make-up studio, een ruimtekamer en een echte Nachtwacht kamer; helemaal in het thema van de populaire serie. Nickelodeon USA to Premiere 'LEGO City Adventures' During Summer 2019

Nickelodeon USA has announced the exciting news in a new trailer that the network will premiere LEGO City Adventures, a brand-new high-stakes CG-animated comedy that depicts the funny, smart, and dynamic slices of life within the sprawling and diverse LEGO CITY community, during summer 2019!


Created and produced by LEGO Group, LEGO City Adventures, the series follows the intertwining paths of the city's everyday heroes as they work together to stop a mysterious master criminal who begins to wreak havoc on their town.

Nickelodeon announced plans to air LEGO City Adventures (originally titled LEGO® CITY) as part of Nickelodeon's 2019 Upfront, and forms part of the network's slate of new acquired programming which will ensure Nick is the top destination for everything kids want.


To celebrate the upcoming launch of LEGO City Adventures, Nick.com has launched a LEGO City Adventures show page for the series.

LEGO City Adventures will form part of Nickelodeon USA's summer slate, which includes a revival of the network's beloved '90s live-action sketch show All That, executive produced by original cast member Kenan Thompson (Kenan & Kel, Good Burger, Saturday Night Live), and the network's revival of the hit game show Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, hosted by WWE superstar John Cena, the later of which is slated to debut on Monday, June 10, 2019.

Nickelodeon USA to Premiere 'Hunter Street' Season 3 on Monday 22nd July 2019

Actor Ronald Top, who portrays Erik in Hunter Street, has announced the exciting news in a post on his official Instagram page that Nickelodeon USA will start to premiere episodes from the all-new third season of the network's hit live-action comedy adventure series from Monday 22nd July 2019! The news has been confirmed by Tooske Ragas, who portrays Kate on the show!


Hunter Street season three (30 episodes) will follow the Hunter family on mysterious journeys around Amsterdam, leading them on epic and suspenseful adventures, as they come across puzzling clues, secret rooms and unexpected revelations.

Hunter Street is produced by Blooming Media, and was co-developed with it's Dutch counterpart, Nickelodeon Netherlands'De Ludwigs.

Filming for Hunter Street season three took place in Amsterdam during Spring 2019, and wrapped on Friday 4th May 2019.

Hunter Street stars Stony Blyden as street-smart Max; MaeMae Renfrow as the independent and resourceful sister Tess; Kyra Smith as the free-spirited youngest Hunter sister Anika; Daan Creyghton as Sal, the genius of the bunch; Thomas Jansen as the fiercely protective eldest brother Daniel; Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Jake Hunter; Kate Bensdorp as Evie; and Ronald Top and Tooske Ragas as Erik and Kate Hunter, the parents of the Hunter family. 'Invader ZIM' Creator Jhonen Vasquez and 'Enter the Florpus' Art Director J.R. Goldberg to Attend Toronto Comic Arts Festival 2019

The Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) has announced the DOOM-TASTIC news that Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of Nickelodeon's fan-favorite animated series Invader ZIM, and J.R. Goldberg, who recently served as the Art Director for Nickelodeon's upcoming Invader Zim movie, Enter The Florpus, will be special guests at TCAF 2019!


During their visit to TCAF 2019, the Toronto Comic Arts Festival will host a special session titled "Spotlight: Jhonen Vasquez & J.R. Goldberg!" Below is the official description for the panel:

"TCAF is thrilled to welcome the creator of JTHM, Squee, I Feel Sick, Fillerbunny, and of course the smash-hit animated series Invader Zim, Jhonen Vasquez, for a special presentation! Latest Are You Afraid of the Dark? writer says he's cracked the code on live-action movie

Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, this is The Tale of the Reworked Nickelodeon Screenplay. Back in December, it was confirmed that D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, Eagle Eye) would be helming Paramount Players and Nickelodeon Movies live-action film adaptation of the classic Nick horror anthology series, Are You Afraid of the Dark? Nevertheless, the feature's screenplay is still being polished with the latest draft coming from The Prodigy director, Nicholas McCarthy.


"I actually just turned in the script and we’re all pretty excited about it," he told SYFY WIRE. "I think the target is to shoot it this summer. I’ve had an absolute blast. There’s been a couple of writers before who have tried to crack it, and I think I’ve done it with this version. I love the series, too, and I’ve already had an amazing time writing it. The people that are behind it also love the series and it’s just been really really cool."

The "couple of writers" to which McCarthy refers are Gary Dauberman (It: Chapters 1 & 2) and BenDavid Grabinski (Skiptrace). When he was still writing an earlier draft of the screenplay last September, Dauberman promised that he would be sticking to the spirit of the original series, which could be incredibly frightening at times. McCarthy also went back to the beloved source material, rewatching those episodes that are truly representative of the show as a whole.

"I couldn’t watch all 90 or whatever it is, but I revisited a huge ton of them," he continued with a laugh. "I shouldn’t say too much more about it because I don’t know how they’re gonna frame what they’re doing with it. I don’t think any of the other writers who have been on it before have talked about the direction of the big screen version, but as a fan of the series and as someone who has really enjoyed going back and watching them, I’ve been really keen to try to capture the spirit of what makes that show so great."

Originally slated to open Oct. 11 of this year, it is now unclear when the movie version of Are You Afraid of the Dark? will reach theater-going audiences. After all, if the project plans to shoot over the summer, there's almost no way it can make a fall 2019 release. Indeed, fans may have to wait until Halloween of 2020 (most high-profile horror films usually open around the spooky holiday) to see it.

In addition, McCarthy confirmed that the tie-in miniseries, set to air on Nickelodeon this October (unless it's being pushed off with the film's production schedule), is still happening, although he isn't involved with it in any way. The Are You Afraid of the Dark? miniseries is slated to start filming in Vancouver, Canada on Monday, May 27, 2019.


Are You Afraid of the Dark? is a Canadian Twilight Zone-esqie anthology series created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel. It revolves around a group of teenagers who called themselves the Midnight Society that meet weekly at a secret location in the woods, where one member tells a scary story to the rest of the group, some of which are based on public domain fairy tales, short stories or urban legends. Subjects range from abandoned houses and vampires to scary clowns, witches and aliens.

The series debuted in 1990 on the Canadian children's channel YTV and was picked up by Nickelodeon USA in 1991, though it didn’t debut until SNICK’s launch on Saturday, Aug. 15, 1992. The show ran until April 1996, and a revival series with new writers, directors, writers and cast members was produced by Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2000. In all, the series ran for 91 episodes over seven seasons. Tia and Tamera Mowry (Sister, Sister), Will Friedle (Boy Meets World), Neve Campbell, Hayden Christensen, Jay Baruchel, Tatyana Ali, Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Jewel Staite (Space Cases), Emily VanCamp, and two-time Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling are just a few of the household names who have lent their acting skills to the anthology.

Each episode is introduced with the storyteller saying “Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society,” who then would announce the title of that segment. MacHale said the line was a tribute to the series The Twilight Zone, in which creator Rod Serling would introduce the episode by saying, “submitted for your approval.”

Paramount Players is a new division at Paramount Pictures that focuses on contemporary talent and properties for young audiences while drawing upon the vast resources of the Viacom brands. Nickelodeon is one of those Viacom brands, which Paramount Players will be releasing Dora and the Lost City of Gold, a live-action movie inspired by Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series, in Summer 2019.

Paramount Moves 'Dora and the Lost City of Gold' Release Date to Friday, August 9, 2019

Update (5/8) -Dora and the Lost City of Gold is moving again, but not by that much. Paramount Pictures is moving the release date for its live-action feature adaptation of the hit Nickelodeon beloved animated preschool series from Wednesday, July 31, 2019 to Friday, August 9, 2019.


The news comes in the wake of Disney pushing Artemis Fowl off August 9 and sending it to May 29 next summer. No surprise if more release date changes come from other rivals in the wake of Disney’s revamped theatrical release slate this morning, which includes a Bob's Burgers movie.

Dora will know share the marquee with CBS Films’ Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Warner Bros’ crime noir The Kitchen and Bleecker Street’s Brian Banks.

Paramount Pictures has today announced the it was moved the premiere of Dora and the Lost City of Gold forward from its Friday, August 2, 2019 slot, and will now release Paramount Players and Nickelodeon Movies' upcoming live-action movie inspired by Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series Dora the Explorer on Wednesday, July 31, 2019!

The new release date will give Dora a head start at the box office before Universal’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw debuts. Disney still has Fox’s X-Men spinoff The New Mutants on that theatrical date. At CinemaCon, a placard during the House of Mouse’s presentation showed that the film was still committed to a theatrical release, and not jettisoning to Hulu as was rumored.

In Dora and the Lost City of Gold, having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey, voiced by Danny Trejo), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is directed by James Bobin, produced by Christopher Robin producer Kristin Burr, who is joined by longtime Bobin associate, executive producer John G. Scotti (The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, Alice Through the Looking Glass) as well as executive producers Julia Pistor (The Spiderwick Chronicles, A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Eugenio Derbez. Tom Wheeler wrote the story, and Nicholas Stoller and Matthew Robinson penned the screenplay. Walden Media is co-financing and co-producing the film with Paramount.

Nickelodeon Latin America and Nickelodeon Brazil to Premiere 'Club 57' on Monday 6th May 2019

Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) will premiere Club 57 on Monday 6th May 2019 at 6:00pm on Nickelodeon Colombia, 7:00pm on Nickelodeon Chile, and at 8:00pm on Nickelodeon México and Nickelodeon Argentina! The series will also launch simultaneously on Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil), premiering at 19h. Club 57 made its world premiere on Rai Gulp in Italy in primetime on Monday 15th April 2019, and will also air on Argentina's Telefe in May 2019.

Leading up to its linear debut, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica will treat fans to a preview of Club 57 on its digital platform, Nick Play.


Cast of Club 57

Club 57 is a brand-new time-travelling themed series that tells the story of a 14-year-old tech loving girl who accidentally travels back in time. Stuck in the past, she discovers her passion for music, and falls in love. The first season of Club 57 will feature 60 one-hour episodes. Nickelodeon is co-producing the series with the Italian production company Rainbow Group (Winx Club, Regal Academy, 44 Cats, Mia and me, Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends).

Club 57 will launch as Nickelodeon Latinoamérica celebrates 10 years of local productions, and will also mark Nickelodeon's 10th locally produced show for audiences in Latin America and Brazil.


Club 57 is recorded at Viacom International Studios (VIS) in Miami, Florida, with exterior shots filmed on location in Martina Franca in Puglia, Italy.

Behind the scenes of Club 57

Club 57 will feature a truly pan-regional cast, with actors from Argentina, Colombia, México, and Venezuela. The cast will also feature actors from Italy.

Club 57 will star Isabella Castillo (Yo Soy Franky, Vikki RPM, GRACHI) as Amelia; Andrés Mercado (Yo Soy Franky, GRACHI) as Manuel; Simoné Marval as Isa; Mauricio Novoa as Checho, Gabo Lopez as Oso; Evaluna Montaner (daughter of the renowned singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner) as Eva; Riccardo Frascari as JJ; Carolina Mestrovic as Vero; Laura Rosguer as Maca; Fefi Oliveira as Mercedes; Martin Barba as Aurek; Jorge Roguez as Rene; Luis Mayer as Xavier; Sebastian Silva as Ruben; Gael Sanchez as Cesar; Adriano Zendejas as Victor; Martina Lavignasse as Diana; Jesus Nasser as Fernando; Valeria Arena as Camila; Jonathan Quintana as Miguel; Santiago Bidart as Abel; and Frank Fernandez as Andrés. Nickelodeon are working with the Montaner family and the Sony music label to produce the Club 57 soundtrack, which will feature 16 original songs.

In addition to being its 10th local production, Club 57 also marks Nickelodeon's most ambitious and biggest original production to date since they started work on Isa TKM in Venezuela a decade ago.

The show takes up two whole stages at Viacom International Studios (VIS), using more than 22,000 square meters of set design and featuring a regular cast of 22 actors. Tatiana Rodríguez, Senior Vice President (SVP) & Brand Head, Kids & Family of Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, sums it up: "For us this is a blockbuster."


"And what better way to celebrate this decade than with the biggest project we've done so far," Rodríguez added.

When Club 57 was picked up for a series by Nickelodeon, the show originally had 40 episodes, however, to give the script a greater depth, Nickelodeon rewrote the script a bit so that the protagonist was an immigrant from an Italian family in the 50s.



One of the great challenges was to locate the story to the 1950s. "For the kids of today, the '50s is something prehistoric, but we thought it was very fun to be inspired by the aesthetics of those years, but modernising the colours, and I think that a visually spectacular series came out," explained Rodríguez.

Cast of Noobees

The news follows Nickelodeon Latinoamérica greenlighting a second season of its popular eSports-themed drama series Noobees, in co-production with Mediapro. The news was announced at NATPE Miami 2019. Noobees season two is written by Argentine screenwriter Marcela Citterio, whose hits include Nickelodeon's tween/teen favs Yo Soy Franky and Chica Vampiro. The series will be shot on-set and on-location at Mediapro's production facility, Televideo in Bogota, and will feature images from Mediapro's Professional Videogames League (LVP), the biggest e-sports league in Spain and host of major online and offline tournaments for games such as League of Legends& Call of Duty, among others. A start date for production is yet to be announced.

En este sentido, Nickelodeon alista para este año varias novedades entre las que se destaca el estreno de la serie musical Club 57 el próximo 6 de mayo en simultáneo en América Latina y Brasil.

Además, la serie será emitida por la cadena RAI en Italia.

"Club 57 es el proyecto más ambicioso desde que hace diez años empezamos con la producción original en Nickelodeon, con Isa TKM en Venezuela", explica Rodríguez. "Y qué mejor manera de celebrar esta década que con el proyecto más grande que hemos hecho hasta el momento".

La serie Club 57 (60x60’), que mezcla música y viajes en tiempo, es una coproducción con Rainbow Media de Italia.

"Llevábamos ya 40 capítulos escritos y cuando entraron reescribimos un poco para que el protagonista fuera un inmigrante de familia italiana en los 50, y esa reescritura ayudó a que el guion tuviera una mayor profundidad", comenta.

"Ha sido muy bella la experiencia de la coproducción porque todos los exteriores los hemos hecho en una maravillosa ciudad que se llama Martina Franca en Puglia, Italia", añade Rodríguez.

El cast panregional de la primera temporada cuenta con talento proveniente de países como Argentina, Colombia, México, Venezuela, y por supuesto, Italia. Su protagonista es Eva Luna Montaner, hija del reconocido cantautor Ricardo Montaner.

“En la familia Montaner son todos muy buenos músicos y son los responsables de la banda sonora de la serie. Tenemos 16 canciones originales. Toda la parte musical la estamos trabajando con Ricardo Montaner y el sello Sony", explica la ejecutiva.

Por el lado de la idea original, uno de los grandes retos que se tuvo fue el de ubicar la historia en la década de 1950. "Para los chicos de hoy, los años 50 es algo prehistórico, pero nos pareció que era muy divertido poder inspirarnos en la estética de aquellos años, pero modernizándolos los colores, y creo que salió una serie visualmente espectacular", asegura.

Para su grabación por primera vez se utilizaron los dos stages completos de Viacom International Studios (VIS) en Miami (EEUU), más de 22.000 metros cuadrados de escenografía y un cast fijo de 22 talentos. Rodríguez lo resume: "Para nosotros esto es una superproducción".

Por otra parte, en el marco de Natpe Miami 2019, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica anunció la segunda temporada de la serie de videojuegos y eSports Noobees, en coproducción con Mediapro y Televideo de Colombia.

"La segunda temporada está escrita por Marcela Citterio, guionista de series como Yo soy Franky y Chica vampiro, grandes éxitos de Nickelodeon", adelanta la ejecutiva, y adelanta: "Aún no hay fecha para iniciar las grabaciones, recién estamos armando el plan de producción".

Na próxima segunda-feira, 06 de maio, a partir das 19h, a Nickelodeon estreia ‘Club 57’. A nova série conta a história de Eva e seu irmão Rubén. Acidentalmente, os dois se transportam para o ano de 1957. Eles fazem tudo que podem para voltar para casa, até que Eva se apaixona por JJ e decide ficar no passado, o que desencadeia um efeito borboleta que acaba mudando suas vidas. Com uma mistura de música, festa e viagens no tempo, Eva deve encontrar uma maneira de voltar para o presente sem desistir do seu primeiro amor.

-Cuenta regresiva... ¿Cómo se vive la previa al debut?
Estoy muy contenta. Hemos trabajado mucho en este proyecto y ver que sale en pantalla es una emoción muy grande.Hace como tres años grabamos el piloto y esperamos dos años para empezar a grabar la serie. Hace seis meses que venimos grabando.



-Cómo te sentís al ser tu primer protagónico...

Arranqué mi carrera como actriz hace siete años en Nickelodeon, con una serie llamada Grachi. Luego tomé clases de actuación en Los Ángeles y en Nueva York. Creo que de alguna manera ya me estaba preparando para esto... Y creo que no estoy donde estoy sólo porque mi papá tiene buenos contactos. De todas maneras, siempre digo mi apellido con mucho orgullo: me encanta que la gente sepa que soy hija de mi papá. Él es una persona tan buena que me siento mucho orgullo de ser su hija. Lo quiero mucho, como a mi mamá y hermanos. Somos una gran familia.

-Qué cosas hay en común con tu personaje...

Tenemos muchas cosas en común, empezando por el nombre. Eva es muy divertida, inteligente y le encanta la ciencia. Cuando llega a los años '50 quiere volver a la actualidad, pero después de un tiempo se enamora de un chico y por eso ya no se quiere ir y busca la manera de quedarse. Pero cualquier cosa que haga en el pasado hace que cambie algo en el futuro.

-¿Qué se siente ser figura de Nickelodeon y también de Telefe?

Me emociona mucho ser parte de un canal tan lindo como Nickelodeon y también de Telefe, un canal muy familiar para mí. Además un canal muy importante, líder en Argentina.
