It's SpongeBob SquarePants' 20th anniversary, and to celebrate, Nickelodeon Southeast Asia will be hosting special SpongeBob SquarePants retail activations at three shopping centres in Malaysia in May and June 2019!


Titled Seronoknya Raya, fans are invited to celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants' landmark 20th anniversary with Nickelodeon at Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru in Johor, KL Gateway Mall in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, and Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya in Selangor by joining in all the SpongeBob – Raya themed Games and Activities at special SpongeBob SquarePants-themed areas!

Seronoknya Raya is now open at Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, where fans can visit the SpongeBob SquarePants area daily from 10am until Monday 10th June 2019. To celebrate, the mall will be giving away free Playground Entry Passes from Wednesday 1st May - Wednesday 8th May 2019.

The SpongeBob Seronoknya Raya event will also open at KL Gateway Mall and Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya on Friday 10th May 2019, where fans can visit the attractions and join in with the celebrations daily from 10:00am until Paradigm PJ and until Sunday 23rd June 2019 at KL Gateway Mall.

Nickelodeon Southeast Asia's SpongeBob SquarePants Seronoknya Raya celebration forms part of the "Best Year Ever", Nickelodeon's year-long global celebration commemorating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. The “Best Year Ever” includes with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special, and leads up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming summer 2020.

It’s SpongeBob’s birthday in “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” which features for the first time the celebrated voice talent behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton playing live-action doppelgänger versions of the animated characters they voice. In the one-hour special, Patrick and SpongeBob journey to the surface world, where they come across a few familiar characters during lunchtime rush at The Trusty Slab restaurant. Meanwhile, the Bikini Bottom residents set up a surprise party for SpongeBob.

Nickelodeon’s brand-new animated preschool series, Abby Hatcher (created and produced by Spin Master Entertainment), tells the story of a little girl with a big heart who helps her friends, the amazing and quirky Fuzzly creatures, fix their mishaps, learn from their mistakes and negotiate their emotions. Abby Hatcher launched today, Monday 6th May 2019, on Nickelodeon Southeast Asia, airing at 10:00am on Nickelodeon Malaysia (MY), 10:30am on Nickelodeon Philippines (PHP), 8:20am on Nickelodeon Singapore (SG), and at 9:00am on Nickelodeon Indonesia (WIB).

Abby Hatcher (26 episodes) features a social-emotional curriculum highlighting empathy, compassion and problem-solving skills.

Following today's launch, new episodes of Abby Hatcher will continue to air regularly weekdays at 10:00am on Nick Malaysia (MY), 10:30am on Nick Philippines (PHP), 8:20am on Nick Singapore (SG), and at 9:00am on Nick Indonesia (WIB).

In Abby Hatcher, Abby is an eternally optimistic, kind-hearted seven-year-old girl who loves to lend a helping hand to others and accepts everyone--no matter how different they are. In Abby’s world, humans coexist with Fuzzlies, incredible creatures that each have their own unique abilities that make them special, and Abby’s parents’ hotel is home to many. Together with her best Fuzzly friend Bozzly, Abby goes on wild adventures to fix Fuzzly mishaps and help them in any way she can. Whenever a problem arises Abby and Bozzly always say, “Fuzzly trouble can’t delay, to the rescue, save the day!”



In the series premiere of Abby Hatcher, “When Abby Met Bozzly/Hair Flair Everywhere,” Abby meets the best friend of her dreams, a fuzzly named Bozzly, for the first time. Then, when the hotel’s salon owner Mrs. Melvin closes the salon for the day, Abby tries to help Harriet, a hair-obsessed Fuzzly, find a new hobby, when all she really wants is to style. In additional new episodes, Mo and Bo are mistaken for a snow monster, and, after taking a tumble, Otis suffers a fear of heights and becomes scared to use his elevator.


Abby Hatcher made its world debut on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, and will be rolling out on Nickelodeon’s international channels and branded blocks throughout 2019. The series also airs on TVO and Knowledge in Canada.

Abby Hatcher is the ninth series from Spin Master Entertainment and follows on the success of PAW Patrol. The new series is overseen by executive producers Ronnen Harary and Laura Clunie.

Nickelodeon Asia to Premiere 'JoJo's Dream Birthday' on Friday 24th May 2019

JoJo Siwa is celebrating her Sweet 16 early, and we’re all invited!


The 15-year-old Nickelodeon star and YouTube sensation – who's just released her latest EP “Celebrate” – recently teamed up with Nickelodeon for her upcoming birthday special, JoJo’s Dream Birthday, which is set to give viewers an inside look at the 24 hours surrounding the superstar's Sweet 16 birthday, held at the The W Hotel in Hollywood! There was no shortage of famous faces in attendance, including North West, Penelope Disick, fellow YouTuber Colleen Ballinger and Dance Mom Abby Lee Miller!

JoJo’s Dream Birthday will make its world premiere on Nickelodeon USA and YTV in Canada on Saturday, May 18, at 8:30 PM (ET/PT). Following its debut, the special will roll out onto Nickelodeon channels around the globe, giving Siwanators everywhere the chance to join in with JoJo's birthday celebrations!

BURBANK, Calif.--Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios announced the greenlight of a new animated “Star Trek” series to be developed by Emmy Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (“Trollhunters” and “Ninjago”) and overseen for Nickelodeon by Ramsey Naito, EVP, Animation Production and Development, Nickelodeon.

Debuting exclusively on Nickelodeon, the series expands the “Star Trek” universe for a new generation of fans. The new original CG-animated series follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.

The series will be from CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Television Studios’ new animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth will serve as executive producers alongside Kevin and Dan Hageman. Aaron Baiers will serve as a co-executive producer.

“‘Star Trek’s’ mission is to inspire generations of dreamers to build a brighter future,” said Alex Kurtzman. “Dan and Kevin have crafted a story that honors its exploratory spirit in a way that’s never been done before, while the Nickelodeon team blew us away with their excitement at bringing ‘Trek’ to a younger generation around the world.”

“‘Star Trek,’ Nickelodeon, and the state of animation are doing incredibly ambitious things as of late. We couldn’t be more excited to jump aboard," said Dan and Kevin Hageman.


“Partnering with CBS Television Studios and the creative masterminds behind the ‘Star Trek’ franchise is an incredible opportunity and allows our audience to discover rich characters and new stories,” said Naito. “‘Star Trek’ is a franchise loved by generations of fans around the globe, and adding Nickelodeon as home to the next animated series is a perfect fit.”

The animated series is the newest addition to the expanding “Star Trek” television universe. It joins STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS, a series of short stories tied to DISCOVERY; the new untitled “Star Trek” series featuring Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard; STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS from Mike McMahan (“Rick and Morty”), an animated series targeted at mature audiences; and a new “Star Trek” project based on “Section 31,” which is in development with Michelle Yeoh attached to star. All these projects, except the new Nickelodeon edition, are on the CBS streaming platform CBS All Access in the U.S.

Emmy Award-winning brothers Kevin and Dan Hageman have written and produced some of the biggest animated franchises in film and television. They served as co-executive producers on the Emmy Award-winning series “Trollhunters,” co-created the hit “The LEGO Movie,” wrote and executive produced “LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu” and developed the theatrical “The Lego Ninjago Movie.” Additional credits include “Hotel Transylvania” (story creators) and “The Croods 2” (writers), along with the upcoming live-action feature “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” (writers).

The new “Star Trek” series is the third animated series from CBS Television Studios, following STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS for CBS All Access and OUR CARTOON PRESIDENT for SHOWTIME.

Update (5/6) - With an eye toward broadening the Star Trek fan community, CBS Television Studios has launched a new global franchise group that will manage and maximize the expansion of the iconic brand. Headed by Veronica Hart, EVP, Star Trek Global Franchise Management, the group will be based out of Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout Productions in Santa Monica, and will be tasked with expanding the brand beyond linear broadcasting and streaming. Kurtzman is shepherding the Star Trek franchise and executive produces several Star Trek series as part of his overall deal at the Studio. The unit reports to David Stapf, President of CBS TV Studios.

Hart will manage the Star Trek global brand strategy to support the content development plans being developed within CBS and under the stewardship of Kurtzman.

The unit’s goal is to broaden the Star Trek fan community through additional branding opportunities, such as podcasts, a reinvigorated StarTrek.com and new digital spaces, consumer products and gaming, as well as live experiential events and global attractions. These are all designed to complement the Studio’s expansion of the Star Trek universe, which now includes two live-action series, two animated projects and multiple “shorts.”

The growing Star Trek universe for television includes a new animated Trek series from writers Kevin and Dan Hageman for Nickelodeon; Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Short Treks, a series of short stories tied to Discovery and the overall Star Trek universe; the new untitled Star Trek series featuring Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard; Star Trek: Lower Decks from Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty), an animated series targeted at mature audiences; and a new Star Trek project based on “Section 31,” which is in development with Michelle Yeoh attached to star. In addition to Hart, the franchise team includes: John Van Citters, VP, Star Trek Brand Development, who will work within CBS and across the industry as brand experts while leading the implementation of initiatives and programs; Yasmin Elachi, Director of Star Trek Content, in charge of creating, relaunching and maintaining the new StarTrek.com along with overseeing all aspects of Star Trek social media; and Gabrielle Oliff, Director of Global Franchise Management Operations, who will focus on executing franchise initiatives and managing the review analytics and preparing presentations for cross-company communication.

“Veronica and her team are not only gifted brand strategists and veteran consumer products executives, they are also experts on the Star Trek canon,” said Stapf. “We are excited to launch this new business unit because the brand has an enormously rabid fan base, and we look forward to expanding its reach even further.”

Série de animação criada em Florianópolis já está em diversas plataformas digitais

Espalhar desenhos pelos quatro cantos do planeta, é nisto que acreditam Ricardo Peres e Rodrigo Eller, sócios do 52 Animation Studio e criadores de Papaya Bull, em exibição na Nickelodeon. Inspirada no Boi de Mamão, a série de animação começa a ganhar o mundo e a levar nossa cultura, para diversos países da América Latina.

Floripa já é um polo de referência em animação e nos orgulhamos em participar disto. O novo projeto do estúdio é a série pré-escolar Leo e Lully, que conta as aventuras de dois irmãozinhos que vivem em uma estrela anã coladinha na Terra, o quintal de sua casa.

Studios today announced the first-ever Rugrats original graphic novel RUGRATS: THE LAST TOKEN, about the babies’ journey to save the arcade from certain doom with the treasured last token, from writer Pranas T. Naujokaitis (Adventure Time) and artist Maurizia Rubino (Steven Universe) in stores November 2019. Join the Rugrats as they set off on a magical quest to battle monsters, hordes, and the pernicious influence of greed in the most epic adventure of all time!

Stu and Drew have taken the babies to the local arcade for a relaxing day of pizza and games but one does not simply walk into the Wizard Rat Pizza Parlor Fun Time. When the arcade’s token stock goes down to one, a frenzy breaks loose and darkness descends upon the arcade floor. Every child seeks the precious golden coin for their own game with no thought to the needs of all the children of Fun Time. It is up to Tommy, son of Stu, and his noble fellowship of Rugrats to guard the one token across the treacherous game room floor to the fabled volcano arcade machine, told to yield a stream of tokens if you win, in order to save the day.

Naujokaitis is an Ignatz Award-nominated writer who has worked for Boom! Studios on Adventure Time: Ice King and Uncle Grandpa in Uncle Grandpaland.

“One thing I always loved about Rugrats is how spot on they get it when showing how kids pretend when playing. I wanted to do a story that honored those playtimes but through the eyes of Tommy and the gang,” said Naujokaitis. “I am honored to get to put my own small personal stamp and work with characters that I loved when I was young enough (and small enough) to still be allowed inside those plastic tubes of my youth.”

Rubino is an illustrator of children’s books and comic books based in Milan. She was an artist for Steven Universe: Fusion Frenzy #1 from BOOM! Studios.

io9 is delighted to exclusively reveal a first look at Tommy and friends’ newest comic adventure: Rugrats: The Last Token. Written by Adventure Time comic scribe Pranas T. Naujokaitis, and Steven Universe: Fusion Frenzy artist Maurizia Rubino, The Last Token sees the babies go on their most epic quest yet...to the local arcade.

Yes, Stu and Drew might just be taking Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Angelica, and Susie to Wizard Rat Pizza Parlor Fun Time, but when the arcade’s stock of game tokens runs down to just one last golden disc—one token to rule them all, if you will—all hell breaks loose, as no kid can decide which game to spend it on. It’s up to Tommy and the gang to reforge themselves with the power of imagination and become a true fellowship of fantastical heroes—guardians of the One Token as they take it on an epic journey across the arcade to the fabled Volcano machine, which offers the chance to win more tokens than any baby could know what to do with.

io9: Tell us a little bit about your Rugrats history. What drew you to the series in the past—and what’s it been like getting to work on this graphic novel together with this cast of characters?

Matthew Levine: I grew up on the Rugrats and it wasn’t until editing the comics that I realized just how much they shaped who I am today. I think what appealed to me most as a kid was that it was a show that revolved around family, which instantly made it relatable. The babies were always getting into trouble, but it was always together. That’s the best part about working on the graphic novel too, you have this large, hilarious cast to play with.

Maurizia Rubino: I always watched the Rugrats with great fascination because of the very unique design, which for me was really fun and interesting. I never imagined I would one day draw them, so I’m really excited to be living this fun and magical adventure with the babies!

Pranas T. Naujokaitis: I grew up during the first “Golden Age” of Nicktoons, so stuff like Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, Doug, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, and of course Rugrats. But my family didn’t get cable until I was in my teens, so I had to rely on when I went to a friend’s house or when we were on vacation and staying in a hotel to get my fix. So the few times I got to watch these shows became precious, and I savored them when I got the rare chance.

And those shows, along with a lot of cartoons from that era, really helped build the base sensibility of what I do today when I’m writing or drawing. They were huge early influences on me. I think it’s wild that I get to put my own personal thumbprint on it and be a part of the history in a small way of this show I loved when I was a kid. If li’l seven-year old me knew what adult me gets to do for a living, I think he’d freak out a little bit.

io9: Imaginative play has always been a cornerstone for Rugrats storytelling. What drew you to fantasy as the inspiration for The Last Token?

Naujokaitis: So when Matthew first approached me to write this, part of what they were looking for was to put these characters into one of their imaginative play fantasies for a whole book, like so many episodes of the show. So I threw out a few ideas, different settings, different genres the babies could find themselves in.

I believe as a storyteller, even when working on licensed stuff and playing in someone else’s sandbox, you have to put a piece of yourself into it. So all the settings and genres I was throwing out were things from my own childhood, places I played in, genres I love, etc.

I think the fantasy of their imaginations and the fantasy genre really melded well together. Then I thought about the babies going on a quest in that high fantasy realm and it just seemed like the perfect fit. Choosing fantasy as the genre also helped inform the real world setting this takes place in. I wanted a reason for the babies to imagine a fantasy world, so the pizza parlor/arcade/playplace restaurant is medieval fantasy themed.

io9: From a design perspective, how did you decide which Rugrat would reflect which fantasy archetype the best? Who was the most fun to find a “class” for in the babies’ adventure?

Rubino: I think we get to see Angelica’s true identity in this story. She makes an excellent villain because she loves her costume and her power. And no doubt, Chuckie was really fun to illustrate as well. He’s pure of heart and curly-haired, just like some other small fantasy heroes.

Naujokaitis: As a writer it was mostly easy assigning each baby to a certain class, because the characters are already so well established. Tommy, the brave leader, would of course be a knight-type, using his trusty screwdriver as a sword. Susie, the wise older kid, would be a wizard. Angelica an evil witch, obviously. Phil and Lil would be the more gross, rough and tumble classes, but I wanted them to have a little conflict with what they each chose to be. So we’ve got Phil as a dwarf and Lil as an ogre, and they rib each other a little bit over that.

Chuckie was probably the hardest but most fun to assign a class for. I played around with a few ideas, thought about maybe even going against type, but when I thought of him in the context of some other tiny reluctant heroes—picturing the hair on his feet matching the hair on his head—I had to go with that.

From the sketches I’ve seen so far, Maurizia really knocked it out of the park. One thing I love about writing is when you get paired up with an amazing artist who can take your ideas and make them a thousand times better.

io9: Tommy and his friends all love Reptar, he’s such an iconic part of the Rugrats world. Any chance we can expect a bit of Dungeons & Dragons (& Dinosaurs) action in this new book?

Naujokaitis: I really wanted to focus on new monsters and challenges for the babies to face. This is their first time ever being in a themed restaurant like this, so I wanted to make everything they face feels new, more dangerous, [and] makes them feels really out of place and unsure about everything.

Rugrats: The Last Token is expected to release digitally and physically in November 2019.

Nickelodeon's 'Rugrats' Receiving First-Ever Original Graphic Novel From BOOM! Studios This November

A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do!

After the release of its special Rugrats: C Is for Chanukah one-shot last November, BOOM! Studios is continuing its toddler-centric line of comics with the classic Nicktoon's first-ever original graphic novel, Rugrats: The Last Token. Written by Pranas T. Naujokaitis (Adventure Time) and drawn by Maurizia Rubino (Steven Universe), the upcoming book centers on Tommy, Chucky, Phil, Lil, Angelica, and Susie heading out on an epic quest to save their local pizza parlor/arcade from certain doom. The use of the word "Token" in the title is certainly a nod to fantasy author J.R.R. Tolkien and his influential Lord of the Rings novels.

"When writing, I try to get into the heads of the characters, really get to know them, since I believe good characters are the foundation of good storytelling," Naujokaitis exclusively tells me. "So in this case, that involved me watching a bunch of old episodes. Once I get a good feel for them, I like throwing different scenarios and dangers at them to see how they react. When you really get in their heads, the characters almost write themselves and will help tell you where the story goes next. My favorite character to work on with this was probably Chuckie since that was the kind of kid I was, scared and overly cautious. So, I had a lot of fun putting Chuckie in danger."

As I'm a major Rugrats fan from way back in the day, BOOM! Studios was kind enough to provide me with several first look interior extracts from the forthcoming publication, which doesn't arrive in stores until late fall. You can check all three out below:


"I loved the story written by Pranas from the first reading. The script is so funny and full of quotes from the fantasy world that I couldn't wait to start working on it," adds Rubino. "Babies will live an adventure starting from a pizza parlor full of arcade and colored lights and then they will cross many unexpected worlds. They will meet scary creatures and will have to strive to get to their destination. It was so much fun to design these backgrounds that constantly change around them and create designs for their costumes and for the many characters they will know. I really think this is a story for everyone, kids and adults."

Here is the official synopsis for the graphic novel:

Stu and Drew have taken the babies to the local arcade for a relaxing day of pizza and games but one does not simply walk into the Wizard Rat Pizza Parlor Fun Time. When the arcade’s token stock goes down to one, a frenzy breaks loose and darkness descends upon the arcade floor. Every child seeks the precious golden coin for their own game with no thought to the needs of all the children of Fun Time. It is up to Tommy, son of Stu, and his noble fellowship of Rugrats to guard the one token across the treacherous game room floor to the fabled volcano arcade machine, told to yield a stream of tokens if you win, in order to save the day.

“This uproarious Rugrats adventure is a tip of the hat to one of my favorite genres, fantasy,” said Matthew Levine, Editor, BOOM! Studios in an official press release. “Pranas and Maurizia have crafted a tale that weaves humor and action as the babies dream up some big fantasy and challenge themselves in a quest to rid the arcade of unhealthy competition. This is an epic Rugrats story unlike any we’ve done before!"

Prima Comedy Central Czech Republic to Celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants' 20th Anniversary and Honour Stephen Hillenburg at Anifilm 2019

To celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants' landmark 20th anniversary, and to pay tribute Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of the beloved animated Nickelodeon series, who sadly passed away in November 2018 following a battle with ALS, Prima Comedy Central, the Czech version of Nickelodeon's sister channel, Comedy Central, will be showcasing SpongeBob SquarePants at Anifilm 2019, an International Festival of Animated Films, which will be taking place in Třeboň in the Czech Republic between Tuesday 7th - Sunday 12th May 2019!


For Anifilm 2019, Prima Comedy Central has picked several SpongeBob SquarePants episodes, including rarities such as its puppet special, and created two one-hour-long blocks - I and II - which will be screened throughout the festival. Each screening will be followed by animation expert Jiřího Flígla, who will give a talk about the history of the 20-year-old pop culture phenomenon. Each screening

The series, which became an international hit show not only among children, was developed for Nickelodeon by animator and marine biologist Stephen Hillenburg. Je to již dvacet let, kdy diváci televizních obrazovek poprvé nahlédli do Zátiší bikin a poznali jeho mořské obyvatele v čele s titulním hrdinou. Spongebob je z biologického hlediska žlutá houba, ale hlavně nezdolný optimista s velkým srdcem a dětskou duší. Pracuje jako nadšený obraceč hambáčů v rychlém občerstvení Křupavý krab, kde spolu s cynickým Sépiákem tvoří zaměstnanecký tým šéfovaný hamižným panem Krabsem. Když není v práci, tráví Spongebob svůj čas skopičinami s kamarády – hloupatým Patrickem mořskou hvězdicí a Sandy, vynalézavou veverkou, která pod vodou přebývá v skafandru. Seriál, který se stal mezinárodním hitem nejen mezi dětmi, vytvořil animátor a podmořský nadšenec Stephen Hillenburg pro televizní stanici Nickelodeon. K připomínce jeho loňského úmrtí a zároveň letošního výročí seriálu z něho vybíráme několik dílů, včetně rarit – jako je speciální loutkový díl. Spongebob v kalhotách slaví 20 let, je historicky nejúspěšnějším dílem Nickelodeonu

Je žlutý, věčně optimistický, žije pod vodou a nosí slušivý obleček. Jen málokdo by neznal Spongeboba v kalhotách, v originále SpongeBob SquarePants, za jehož zrodem stojí mořský biolog Stephen McDannell Hillenburg.

Pátý nejdéle běžící seriál, stále vznikají nové části

Oblíbený žlutý hrdina ze Zátiší Bikin slaví letos již dvacáté narozeniny. Humorný animák je v USA pátým nejdéle běžícím seriálem a oslavy jeho existence probíhají na televizních obrazovkách po celý rok. Prima Comedy Central k příležitosti výročí propůjčí dobrodružné příběhy nejznámější mořské houby a jejích kamarádů také na festival Anifilm.

S nápadem na tvorbu figurek mořských tvorů přišel Stephen Hillenburg během svých přednášek mořské biologie v Kalifornii a již v roce 1999 spatřil světlo světa první díl o mořské houbě, který Hillenburg sám napsal, produkoval i režíroval.

240 odvysílaných dílů vypráví o podmořském městě Zátiší Bikin a jeho obyvatelích. Kromě hlavního hrdiny Spongeboba, který bydlí v ananasovém domečku se svým mazlíčkem – vodním šnekem Garym, tu žije také jeho nejlepší přítel, mořská hvězdice Patrik nebo vynalézavá veverka ve skafandru Sandy. Spongebob je stále dobře naladěn, a to i přesto, že pracuje v restauraci pana Krabse s kolegou sépiákem, který ho nemá zrovna v lásce.

Seriál stojí na přehnané pozitivitě až naivitě hlavního hrdiny a častou neschopnost jeho okolí tento povahový rys akceptovat. Spongeboba již od jeho vzniku vysílá dětský kanál Nickelodeon patřící do portfolia VIACOM-u. Čeští diváci se mohli s tímto dílem poprvé setkat v roce 2009.

Celosvětový úspěch

I přesto, že otec slavné mořské houby loni v listopadu zemřel v důsledku nemoci ALS, úspěch Spongeboba stále roste. Seriál má obrovské množství suvenýrů, ale také komiksy, muzikál a dva filmy. Letos začala již 11. série oblíbeného animáku, jehož epizody mohou čeští diváci zhlédnout na Prima Comedy Central. Hlas, který Spongebobovi v originále propůjčuje Tom Kenny, dabuje Jan Maxián. Ten daboval v minulosti již řadu animovaných postav např. ve filmové sérii Madagaskar nebo Pokémon.

Právě Prima Comedy Central propůjčí k příležitosti oslav vybrané epizody pro třeboňský festival animovaného filmu Anifilm, který probíhá od 7. do 12. května 2019. Zde poběží Spongebob v kalhotách v několika blocích s následnou přednáškou odborníka Jiřího Flígla o historii dvacetiletého fenoménu.

Festival představuje aktuální trendy, postupy a technologie ve světě animace a zároveň zprostředkovává prostor pro setkávání tvůrců, filmových profesionálů, studentů, teoretiků i fanoušků z celého světa.

The Italian production company Rainbow Group has announced the Italian premiere dates for Nickelodeon Latin America's (Latinoamérica) brand-new series Club 57 and season eight of Winx Club!

Club 57 is a brand-new time-travelling themed series that tells the story of a 14-year-old tech loving girl who accidentally travels back in time. Stuck in the past, she discovers her passion for music, and falls in love. The series is co-produced by Nickelodeon Latinoamérica and Rainbow Group (Winx Club, Regal Academy, 44 Cats, Mia and me, Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends). The first season of Club 57 will feature 60 one-hour episodes.

Rai Gulp will host the world premiere of Club 57 on Monday 15th April 2019 at 20.35. Following launch, Rai Gulp will continue to air brand-new episodes of Club 57 weekdays at 20.35. Following its Italian launch, the series will roll-out globally, including on Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) and Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) from Monday 6th May 2019. Winx Club returns for a eighth season during its 15th anniversary year! Rai Yoyo will start to premiere and show Winx Club 8 Sundays to Fridays at 20.25 from Monday 15th April 2019.

Winx Club season eight will continue the magical adventures of Bloom, Stella, Flora, Aisha, Musa and Tecna. In the next chapter of the Winx saga, our fairies are more united than ever as they go on an adventure full of friendship, space travel and unexpected encounters with friends and enemies of the past. The fairies will get an incredible new light-based transformation, Cosmix, which will allow them to fight the threats that are endangering the Magic Universe and the stars. In addition to the amazing new transformation, season eight will also see the return of the most popular Winx Clubs, Enchantix, Sirenix and Butterflix. Winx Club season 8 will consist of 26 x 26 minute episodes.

The news follows Netflix announcing plans to adapt Winx Club as a live-action young adult (YA) series.


It's currently unknown whether Nickelodeon will acquire the rights to Winx Club season 8.

Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) will start to premiere and show Kally's Mashup season two on Monday 18th February 2019 at 6:00pm on Nickelodeon Colombia / 7:00pm on Nickelodeon Venezuela and Nickelodeon Argentina / 8:00pm Nickelodeon Chile and Nickelodeon México!

Update (23/2): Following its pay-TV debut on Nickelodeon, Viacom's Argentinean free-to-air channel Televisión Federal S.A. (Telefe) will start to air Kally's Mashup season two every Saturday and Sunday morning from Saturday 23rd February 2019!

Kally’s MashUp is inspired by the real-life musical journey of Glee’s executive musical producer, Adam Anders. It follows the adventures of Kally, a young musical prodigy who tries to balance her life as a piano virtuoso and a regular girl when she moves from a small town to the most prestigious music university in the country. Although everyone thinks she was born to be a classical piano player, her true dream and passion is to be a pop star. Kally’s MashUp features original songs composed by Anders, his wife Nikki Anders, and longtime collaborator Peer Astrom. Anders serves as executive producer for the show and oversees all the music featured in the series.

Kally's MashUp season one (75×60-minute episodes) debuted on Nickelodeon Latinoamérica in October 2017 and has since been seen by more than 5 million viewers across the Latin American region, achieving the No. 1 position in Mexico among girls aged 7 to 14 years. Following its success, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica recently ordered more new episodes.

Kally's MashUp season two will have 45 episodes.


Kally's Mashup season two (45x60-minute episodes) made its world debut on Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) on Monday 22nd October 2018.

A new line of consumer products inspired by the popular series was released earlier this year. "Kally's MashUp: La música: banda sonora original de la serie de TV", a album featuring 18 songs from the hit TV show, was released on Friday 9th March 2018 by Deep Well Records, under exclusive license to Sony Music Entertainment US Latin LLC. The album can be downloaded now at kallysmashupofficial.com. A live stage show is expected to launch during winter 2018. Nickelodeon Latinoamérica recently hosted a contest in which one lucky Kally's MashUp fan won the chance to feature in the season finale of Kally's MashUp 2.

Una nueva entrega de 45 episodios de la serie musical, producida por 360 Powwow y Anders Media Inc., llega a Nickelodeon Latinoamérica el próximo lunes 18 de febrero para toda la región.


Tras una exitosa primera temporada, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica anunció el estreno de la segunda temporada de su popular serie musical, Kally's Mashup, para el próximo lunes 18 de febrero a las 19:00 hs.

Kally‘s Mashup 2 también se verá en TV abierta por Telefe

La segunda temporada de la serie original de Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, producida por 360 Powwow y Anders Media Inc., llegará a Telefe pocos días después de su estreno en TV paga.

Telefe anunció que la segunda temporada de Kally's Mashup, la exitosa serie musical de Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, se verá en su pantalla en Argentina.

Tras el reciente estreno en TV paga por Nickelodeon este lunes 18, la ficción juvenil podrá verse desde el sábado 23, todos los sábados y domingos de mañana por Telefe.

La segunda temporada de Kally's Mashup (45 x una hora) cuenta con su elenco original, encabezado por la actriz argentina Maia Reficco y el mexicano Alex Hoyer.

Además, los nuevos capítulos traen nuevas incorporaciones, incluyendo a Ana Julia Angilello, Zhongbo Li Zhang, Josefina Willa, German Tripel, Leonardo Trento, Melisa Garat, Javier Gómez e Ignacio Francavilla.

Kally’s Mashup es producida por 360 Powwow y Anders Media Inc., y rodada en los estudios de Telefe en Buenos Aires. Su primera temporada alcanzó más de 16 millones de televidentes en Latinoamérica y Brasil.
