HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--Nov. 2, 2020--Nickelodeon, TIME and TIME for Kids today announced the top 20 finalists for the first-ever Kid of the Year honor, a multiplatform initiative recognizing extraordinary young leaders who are making a positive impact in their communities.  The top five honorees from the list will be featured in a TV special hosted by Trevor Noah (The Daily Show with Trevor Noah), with one kid ultimately being recognized as Kid of the Year and featured on a cover of TIME with a companion story in TIME for Kids.  The special will simulcast across Nickelodeon, CBS Television Network, TeenNick and Nicktoons on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

The Kid of the Year TV special will introduce the top five honorees ahead of the ultimate Kid of the Year being named, and feature guests stars from entertainment, sports and pop culture to help surprise them and celebrate their work.  Celebrity guests scheduled to make appearances throughout the special include Kristen Bell, Simone Biles, Brie Larson, Zachary Levi and Russell Westbrook, among others.


The top 20 Kid of the Year finalists were selected following a nationwide search that received over 5,000 inspirational kids being nominated.  The top 50 were presented to an Advisory Board made up of representatives from Nickelodeon, TIME, Special Olympics, Rosie’s Theater Kids and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA to help narrow down the top 20 finalists.  Of the 20, the five honorees were selected with the help of an influential kid committee comprised of Dylan Gilmer (Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan), Chinguun Sergelen (All That), Little Chef Ivy (MasterChef Junior), Sky Katz (Raven's Home), and TIME for Kids Kid Reporters Raunak Singh and Tiana Sirmans, and will be revealed during the special.

Meet the top 20 Kid of the Year finalists:

Rebekah Bruesehoff (13; Camden County, N.J.), a transgender activist working to strengthen support systems for transgender and LGBTQ+ youth and show the world that LGBTQ+ kids are just like all other kids and deserve the same love, protections and representation. 

Keedron Bryant (13; Jacksonville, Fla.), a musician and activist using his passion for music to help inspire social change, with the song “I Just Wanna Live” becoming an anthem for the Black Lives Matter movement. 

Dylan Capshaw (14; Scottsdale, Ariz.), a wildlife activist and COVID-19 frontline worker advocate, helping animals in need through his nonprofit, Dylan Capshaw Wildlife Foundation, and printing 3D face-shields to help protect the frontline workers battling the coronavirus pandemic, which he ships through his nonprofit, For the Frontline. 

Jack Dalton (10; Nashua, N.H.), a kid conservationist helping to educate other kids on how important it is for them to be involved in preserving the environment and the world through his fundraising campaigns and videos on YouTube.  He also uses his status as a Youth Ambassador for the international nonprofit Orangutan Alliance to sell 100% recycled Kid Conservationist bags in support of orangutan rehabilitation, with all proceeds being donated to the organization.

Chloe Mei Espinosa (14; Newport Beach, Calif.), an environmental advocate working to protect the oceans through the reduction of single-use plastic straws worldwide, including providing education through her website, SkipthePlasticStraw.com. 

Tyler Gordon (14; San Jose, Calif.), an artist using his love of painting to advocate for anti-bullying and social justice issues, as well as helping other kids with speech impediments through his foundation, Tongue Tyed. 

Ryan Hickman (11; San Juan Capistrano, Calif.), an environmental advocate working to spread awareness of recycling and its ability to help save the planet through his company, Ryan’s Recycling, and his nonprofit, Project3R.  He recycles over 30,000 cans and bottles each month, with over 1.1 million recycled to-date. 

Hannah Jackson (16; Washington, D.C.), a criminal justice reform advocate fighting for the rights of those in the prison system and those directly affected by it, including having successfully lobbied Congress and the White House for the bi-partisan “First Step Act.” 

Elijah Lee (12; Richmond, Va.), a child abuse and social justice activist devoted to combating child abuse and helping those currently facing it, including organizing his own annual anti-child abuse march and serving as a speaker on the issue at conferences. 

Ian McKenna (16; Austin, Texas), an activist committed to providing hunger relief to kids and their families through harvesting fresh produce for them and educating others on its importance. 

Samaira Mehta (12; Santa Clara, Calif.), a tech entrepreneur with a passion for teaching and spreading the love of coding through her initiative “Yes, 1 Billion Kids Can Code” and her coding ecosystem company, CoderBunnyz. 

Anna Miller (13; Baltimore), an accessibility activist encouraging kids to code while using her rare genetic disorder, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, to help spread her message of positivity, inclusivity and equity for all. 

Caleb Oh (15; Gambrills, Md.), a philanthropist helping the food insecure, homeless and foster children in his community and inspiring young people to serve others through his nonprofit, Kid Changemakers. 

Gitanjali Rao (14; Lone Tree, Colo.), an inventor and scientist who centers her work around empathy to advocate for a people-centered approach to invention and problem-solving and provide innovation sessions to students around the globe to inspire them to create their own creative solutions to world problems. 

Jordan Reeves (14; Columbia, Mo.), an advocate for those with physical disabilities working to challenge perceptions through designing new solutions and providing education through digital workshops with her nonprofit, Born Just Right. 

Sophia Scott (17; Los Angeles), an education activist working to reduce the socioeconomic disparities in education during the COVID-19 pandemic by offering high-quality academic support for free through her nonprofit, QuaranTEENS Tutoring. 

Za’Nia Stinson (14; Charlotte, N.C.), a philanthropist passionate about helping homeless women and children through providing food and toiletry items to local shelters with her nonprofit, Z Feeds Angel Food Project. 

Ronak Suchindra (13; Chester Springs, Pa.), an activist dedicated to helping spread the love of learning by motivating youth to help teach kids all around the world through his non-profit organization, Kids Connect.

Khloe Thompson (13; Irvine, Calif.), a philanthropist working to inspire other kids to create change and provide essential items to the Los Angeles homeless community through her nonprofit, Khloe Kares, as well as traveling to Ghana to help build wells for villages in need. 

Bellen Woodard (9; Loudoun County, Va.), the world’s first crayon activist highlighting the issues of empathy, leadership and diversity through the eyes and experiences of a child.  Her campaign, The More than Peach Project, donates its own skin-tone and multicultural crayons and sketchbooks to students and senior citizens.

Milkshake! Goes Green with New Show 'Go Green with the Grimwades'

ViacomCBS-owned UK terrestrial Channel 5 has commissioned a factual entertainment series with an environmental theme for its multiplatform preschool strand Milkshake!


Go Green with the Grimwades has been commissioned for the preschool block with support from the government-backed Young Audiences Content Fund (YACF), through the British Film Institute (BFI).

Produced by London-based Doc Hearts, the 10×10’ series will encourage young audiences to become more aware of their impact on the environment and what they can do at home to make small positive changes. The series will follow the YouTube-famous Grimwade family—consisting of mum, dad and their six home-schooled children—as they accept challenges to cut waste and protect the planet, inspired by the themes of reduce, recycle, repair, reuse and refuse. Topics will include plastic awareness, using water efficiently, connecting with nature, reusing clothes and the benefits of a zero-waste household. Soft learning will be embedded into the show, including numeracy, literacy and STEM. The Grimwades have more than 24 million channel views and 228,000 subscribers.

The show marks Channel 5′s first influencer-led offering for its preschool block.

The news comes follows Milkshake! greenlighting four new series with support from the BFI Young Audiences Production Content Fund earlier this year: Circle Square, a 40 x seven-minute show produced by Wyndley Animation; Winnie & Wilbur (52 x 11.5 minutes) from Winduna; Milo (52 x 11 minutes) from first-timer Fourth Wall Creative; and The World According to Grandpa, a 25 x 11-minute live-action series from Grandpa Productions.

Milkshake! has also ordered new seasons of in-house productions Milkshake! Monkey’s Amazing Adventures and Milkshake! Bop-Box, and has picked up season 12 of Fireman Sam, as well as the first season of Brave Bunnies, a 52×7’ series coproduced by Glowberry and Anima Kitchent and distributed by Aardman. Brave Bunnies follows bunny siblings Bop and Boo as they set off on a family road trip during which they encounter new animal friends, play games and make exciting discoveries. The series will air on Milkshake! next year. All four series will air on Channel 5's preschool programming block from 2021.

SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 2, 2020 -- "Baby Shark Dance," the iconic music video from the kids and family entertainment brand Pinkfong, has officially become the most-viewed YouTube video in history, surpassing "Despacito" by Justin Bieber, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.

"Despacito" currently sits at 7.038 billion views on the platform, while "Baby Shark" hit 7.042.

Along with this news, the "Baby Shark" single has reached another unprecedented record, receiving RIAA Diamond certification (11x Platinum). This means the song has sold over 11 million records. This recognition makes "Baby Shark" one of the only 41 Diamond singles in history alongside best-selling artists such as Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga. The song also has been recognized as BRIT certified 2x Platinum in September.


"Baby Shark" became a breakout sensation when it launched on YouTube in November 2015. With its catchy music, iconic characters, and playful dance, all combined together, "Baby Shark" took the world by storm, recording a 20-week-streak on the Billboard Hot 100 and #6 on the Official Singles Chart, the highest position ever achieved by a children's song in history. The hit song spawned a viral dance challenge named #BabySharkChallenge, generating over 1 million cover videos around the world. Famous fans include Cameron Diaz and Venezuelan baseball player Gerardo Parra, who has launched a Baby Shark collection with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan.

“Baby Shark,” which is known for its repetitive “doo-doo-doo-doo” refrain, was uploaded on June 17, 2016.  The 2 minute, 17 second-long video depicts two kids singing and dancing in front of an animated underwater backdrop. The original writer of the song is unclear – it is said to be based on a nursery rhyme – but it became a global phenomenon after being recorded by Hope Segoine, a 10-year-old Korean-American singer.

The news comes as Baby Shark is preparing to star his own Nickelodeon series. Baby Shark’s Big Show! is a 2D-animated preschool series (26 half-hour episodes) will follow Baby Shark and his best friend William as they journey on fun-filled comedic adventures in their community of Carnivore Cove, meet new friends and sing original catchy tunes along the way. The series will launch with the holiday special, "All I Want for Fishmas", premiering Friday, December 11 at 12:30 p.m, (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. programming block, before fully launching in Spring 2021.

Following the U.S. launch, Baby Shark’s Big Show! series will roll out on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels internationally. LONDON / NEW YORK, OCTOBER 7, 2020 – ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS), a division of ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI), today announced a new unified structure, ViacomCBS International Studios Distribution, which will encompass all studio sales business including co-productions, presale, formats, tape sales and co-developments. Under the unified structure, the company’s former IPS (International Program Sales) division, which previously focused on tape and format sales for network-branded content outside Latin America including the Nickelodeon library and MTV formats, is now combined with VIS’s sales division, which previously focused on VIS original content revenues only. 

To lead ViacomCBS International Studios Distribution, Lauren Marriott has been appointed Senior Vice President of Sales & Business Operations and Distribution Lead for the UK, and Laura Burrell will serve as Vice President, International Formats, both effective immediately. Marriott will dually report to Pierluigi Gazzolo, President, Studios and Streaming, VCNI, and Arran Tindall, Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial & Content Distribution, VCNI. Burrell will report to Kate Laffey, Vice President, VIS.


Marriott and Burrell will collaborate closely with Laffey to grow VIS’s global footprint. The new division will play an integral part in supporting ViacomCBS’s larger studio and media networks businesses. The streamlined sales division will ensure access to broad content distribution rights across all platforms and will promote a centralized leadership structure to ensure timely, efficient processes that better serve clients worldwide. Distribution Leads within each cluster will lead Content Sales Specialists, who will also focus on co-pros & pre-sales.

Marriott has been with ViacomCBS since 2008, and in her new role will drive a central strategy to expand VIS’s sales and distribution by collaborating closely with ViacomCBS Media Networks in the U.S. and VCNI’s international brands, including Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and BET. In addition to oversight of Tape Sales for ViacomCBS’s legacy branded networks business, Marriott will manage all  tape sales internationally for VIS original products in partnership with the clusters. As well as managing stakeholder relationships across the company’s international studios and brands, Marriott will oversee central business operations, including legal, operations, finance, marketing, and global content licensing revenues.  


Burrell, who joined ViacomCBS in 2009, will oversee the continued growth of VCNI and VIS’s format libraries. Burrell will focus on increasing revenue from 3rd party format sales, co-productions and pre-sales, in addition to supporting VCNI’s local channel format adaptations. She will also oversee an increased portfolio that now includes all scripted and non-scripted titles, including those from Telefe, Awesomeness TV and Ananey. She will also be responsible for multi-territory and strategic 3rd party format deals, while overseeing sales in all territories worldwide. She will lead on the development of global rollout strategies for new formats to ensure success and visibility of all properties. In her new role, Burrell will be the key point person for all format-related business for VCNI and VIS.

The promotions come as VIS adds new kids content to its slate. WorldScreenings: ViacomCBS International Studios Americas

Amid productions being on hold and premieres delayed, the arrival of new players and the changing needs of established clients, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) has adapted quickly to the challenges that have emerged. Guillermo Borensztein, VP of content sales and co-productions at VIS Americas, lists three key factors that made this possible: “First, we have the advantage of owning our own content,” he says. “The second factor is the ability to be flexible to accommodate specific customer needs. Finally, rethinking the way we connect to our teams and leverage their expertise.”

In terms of meeting the content needs of the marketplace, Borensztein notes a “sustained and growing demand” for Nickelodeon content, as well as for Telefe family series and premium series from the studio. There is also a growing interest in content for young adults (such as that from AwesomenessTV or Ananey), and in local films in a variety of genres that go directly to the platform as a first window. “We have an advantage because we do not depend on a single catalog,” he says. “In fact, we always say that our catalog is a set of catalogs, which includes local productions in different countries of the region, U.S. productions and content for preschool kids, young adults and the family as a whole. The content is generated by our brands, co-produced with or directly from third parties, and ranges from films and series to documentaries and movies. It’s a unique position to occupy in the market in these times.”

From its scripted slate, Pequeña Victoria (Victoria Small), which takes a look at gender roles in a unique way, was recently nominated for an International Emmy Award for best telenovela. “It is a recognition that goes beyond the success it had with the Telefe audience,” says Borensztein. “It represents our continued commitment to addressing issues of inclusion, as was done previously with 100 Days to Fall in Love on Telefe and other projects from our brands. Our studio has diversity and inclusion embedded in our DNA, and these values are infused into almost all of our projects and, as a result, transmitted to our audience as well.”

With regard to formats, Sres. Papis has been sold and adapted in more than 15 countries, including Chile, Mexico, Peru, Slovakia, Ukraine and the Middle East, among others, “a feat few countries in Latin America have accomplished,” Borensztein says. He also highlights the global success of ADDA. In terms of development and production, VIS is continuing to prioritize the health and safety of its employees by “complying with the protocols defined by the organization, while we move forward with the reactivation of productions throughout the region,” explains Borensztein. “At the moment, we are completing ongoing projects or have started new productions in Mexico (Asesino del Olvido and Backdoor), Spain (Parot), Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. We are also searching for partners and clients for projects we are developing in the next few months and hope to start producing in 2021.”

From a distribution standpoint, he adds, “we are committed to maintaining the level of sales in recent months (mainly in regard to finished programming), closing the last quarter by fulfilling our commercial objectives and expanding our client portfolio.”

Borensztein is optimistic about the prospects that 2021 brings for the company. He says, “What happened this year on a global scale once again demonstrates the power of the entertainment industry—and the content it creates—to entertain, inform and accompany people in their day-to-day lives. Through ViacomCBS International Studios, as well as the different ViacomCBS brands ranging from broadcast and pay-TV to SVOD and AVOD platforms, we seek to engage our audience with the best content and the most flexible entertainment experience. This is reflected in the $13 billion per year our company invests in content. At VIS, our objective is to become the premier studio in Latin America. We remain committed to producing locally more often, partnering with the best players and talent, maximizing the potential of our properties through their entire operating cycle, continuing to be global leaders in the distribution market and diversifying our lines of business. TV Latina Screenings: ViacomCBS International Studios Americas

En medio de las producciones que se han pospuesto y el retraso en los estrenos, la llegada de nuevos jugadores y las necesidades cambiantes de clientes establecidos, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) se ha adaptado rápidamente a los retos que han surgido. VIS’s Laura Burrell Talks Unified Sales Structure

Laura Burrell, VP of international formats at ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS), tells TV Formats about the opportunities the company’s new streamlined structure brings to its format business.

VIS recently unveiled a unified global sales unit that places the company’s international program sales division, which previously focused on tape and format sales for network-branded content outside Latin America, together with VIS’s sales division, which previously focused on the studio’s original content. Within the new structure, Burrell was promoted to VP of international formats, overseeing an increased portfolio that now includes all scripted and non-scripted titles, including those from Telefe, AwesomenessTV and Ananey.

TV FORMATS: What does the new unified sales structure at VIS mean for the overall format business and your remit?
BURRELL: The unified sales structure allows us to create a fully integrated format catalog, a proper one-stop-shop. The format catalog will now be divided into non-scripted and scripted, regardless of the source of the format. Under the old structure, for example, if a client was interested in a VIS Americas scripted title—perhaps from Telefe or anything produced out of Latin America—they would need to speak to a separate sales team. That’s not the case anymore. Whether a format originates from one of our channel brands like MTV or Comedy Central or whether it comes from a production arm like Ananey in Israel or VIS U.K. or was developed by our studio, it’s all going to sit under one roof, under my remit. This represents a great opportunity for us to grow the business. We’ll have better efficiencies, greater flexibility and a broader offering for our global partners and clients.

In terms of the scripted library, the Latin American content is a fantastic library to build from. It’s going to be a priority to build up the scripted library, using that as the basis. VIS Americas is already recognized as one of the leading suppliers of scripted content; they’ve got a fantastic library of translatable telenovelas, super series and comedy-dramas such as 100 Days to Fall in Love and Victoria Small. We’ll be combining that library with fiction titles from our other brands. AwesomenessTV, for example, has some fantastic teen dramas such as Zac & Mia and Light as a Feather. Ananey in Israel is now fully part of the ViacomCBS family, and they have a great track record with shows like Greenhouse Academy. There are also scripted titles from some of our brands like Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon, as well as everything we’re developing in the studio. It’s going to be exciting to combine that all under one roof for the first time.

TV FORMATS: What’s your view on the overall state and health of the format business at present?
BURRELL: No one doubts it has been a tough year. We couldn’t have foreseen the pandemic or what effect it would have. Thinking back to the beginning of the year, when production was halted across the world and ad revenues plunged, it was pretty bleak. But I do think the industry is bouncing back. Non-scripted formats have been quicker on the mark than scripted. It’s great to see big prime-time studio entertainment shows back on our screens, even if they are in a modified form. It’s a classic example of how you don’t miss something until it’s gone. Any production right now comes with inherent risk; we have to accept that. The industry has learned ways to adapt. We have continued licensing our formats throughout this difficult period; the business has kept going. We’ve had to be a bit more flexible with production deadlines and episode counts, but the business has continued, and that’s a really encouraging sign. We’re bouncing back; we’re some way off full health, but it’s a creative industry and creative industries find ways forward.

TV FORMATS: From the VIS slate, what are some of the formats that have come up with innovative production methods to produce amid new health and safety protocols?
BURRELL: We’ve adopted a number of protocols either for our own productions or we support our licensees using them. For example, for our house-based reality shows that are shot on-location, creating a production bubble has been crucial. It’s really worked for us. By doing that, we’ve had local adaptations of Ex on the Beach, Are You the One? and Finding Prince Charming manage to go ahead and record under restrictions. These productions were completed on schedule, despite the restrictions. We’ve also managed to incorporate the use of remote shooting into a number of our formats. Ghosted, an investigative show that looks into stories of ghosting, has been shot almost entirely remotely for its second season. The contributors are recorded on Zoom and Skype or we send them equipment for them to self-shoot. We also did that on a new format, Served! With Jade Thirlwall. It was all shot during lockdown. We gave her housemates a tutorial on how to shoot and sent them equipment, and they shot the whole thing themselves.

For studio shows, we’ve had to reimagine set designs and environments. One of the new titles we’ve been pitching is Guessable, which launched on Comedy Central U.K. in October. It’s a studio-based show, with guessing games and two celebrity teams. What I love about that show is when you look at the set, it’s so well designed it’s not really obvious that it’s shot under COVID-19 conditions with strict social distancing. It’s really well-done; you wouldn’t know you were watching a show that had been shot that way. We’ve adopted all of those measures, and it’s fair to say our channels were really innovative during the pandemic. Balcony Stories made a lot of waves when it aired across our channels. It was a really clever use of user-generated content from around the world. MTV Unplugged at Home was a great way of taking what should be a big studio production and turning it into an intimate moment for artists to connect with their fans. We’ve seen a lot of innovation and changes to protocols.

TV FORMATS: As you look ahead at 2021, what are some of the opportunities you see in the format space?
BURRELL: In the scripted arena, I think we’re going to see increased opportunity for the slate that’s coming out of VIS Americas. Something like Victoria Small, for example, which was recently nominated for an International Emmy, is starting to gain traction with scripted buyers across numerous markets. We have a dark comedy thriller called R, which VIS co-produced with Pantaya in the Hispanic U.S. market and Clara Video in Mexico. There are some strong dramas coming out of that division. We think Asia is going to be a growth market as well on the scripted side. We’re working really hard with our local team there to open up new opportunities.

On the non-scripted side, we’re blessed with a fantastic reality slate already, but what I think we’re going to see next year and beyond is more opportunity for titles that embrace diversity and inclusion—this applies to our scripted titles as well. ViacomCBS Networks International recently announced a “No Diversity, No Commission” policy, which confirms our commitment in this area. There is a sea-change happening already internationally. We sold the gay dating show Finding Prince Charming last year to Germany’s TVNOW. That’s done really well. A second season is already on air. We’ll be announcing a second European territory shortly. That’s one to watch, along with our competitive reality format True Love or True Lies, which has diversity at its heart. That’s also going to be getting a European adaptation next year. The market for those formats that embrace diversity and inclusion is starting to widen, and we’ll see that even more next year.

All opportunity has to be tempered by the reality of coronavirus and its effect on production, which is going to last well into 2021. We have to accept that we’re going to have to live with instances of productions being halted or postponed, schedules rejigged and budgets squeezed. You’ve got to accept that that’s the reality we’re going to be in for some time. There are still reasons to be optimistic. The industry has adapted very quickly already, and being flexible and nimble will be key to navigating that landscape for the coming year. I believe our new structure will enable us to do that efficiently and effectively.

Mexican Social Media Star Bala to Host Nickelodeon Latin America's New Environmental Digital Series, 'Planeta Bala'

Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) will debut Planeta Bala, a brand new environmental-themed series hosted Nickelodeon star Bala on Wednesday 4th November 2020!

In Planeta Bala, the 16-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter and social media star will share with viewers practical advice on how to live a life which produces less waste and how to be friendlier to the environment.

"Personally, it is an issue that has been of great concern to me for quite some time," Bala said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I think they always talk to us about it, but we never give ourselves time to open up to understand it more thoroughly."

Aware of her own platform - with more than 7 million followers on YouTube and more than 3 million on Instagram - Bala, whose real name is Isabella de La Torre, decided that it was time to raise her own voice “to open the eyes of the people and for us to start making a change ”.

For Planeta Bala, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica partnered with the global organization The Nature Conservancy (TNC). The series, which will air on TrendyByNick.com, was created and produced by Viacom Digital Studios International, The Americas.

The first will feature guest star, Venezuelan actress María Gabriela de Faría (Yo soy Franky, Isa TKM, Grachi), who will help Bala remotely to make a reusable bag and also show her her favorite ecological items, such as bamboo toothbrushes and a shampoo bar that does not require plastic bottles.

The first season, made entirely during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) quarantine, has 20 episodes of about 7 to 10 minutes each. Each episode addresses a different topic, from how to recycle to the problems of wasting food. In each chapter Bala will offer practical advice. Guests will range from celebrities to activists to experts.

In an advance statement sent to the AP, Tatiana Rodríguez, Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of Brand for Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, said that “we could not be more excited to have Bala present the show and to have The Nature Conservancy as an partner in this incredible initiative".

"We recognize young people as vital ambassadors for the planet," said Debora Hertfelder, TNC's Latin America Marketing Manager. "Being able to bring our science to millions of children throughout Latin America is very important to us."

Like millions of students, Bala continues to take remote classes during the pandemic. She said that she is in a flexible school that allows her to continue her artistic and professional activities, but that doesn't stop her having to do homework like her classmates.

The artist, who recently released the song “Como Nunca,” with Mati Gómez and is about to release a new version of her song “Pijama”, said that she would like schools to teach more about environmental education.

"I have come to touch the subject in class, but we have touched it as a very formal subject ... It should be much more talked about and much more informed topic, both in schools and in the media," said Bala. "I've really learned a lot more outside of school because they don't teach you all the repercussions that climate change has."

One of her environmental tips is to go shopping with your own containers or jars to avoid the use of throwaway plastics. She also said bee troughs with marbles can be placed in gardens to prevent bees from drowning.

Bala signed an exclusive global representation agreement with Nickelodeon Latin America in May 2019. Under this agreement, Nickelodeon will work with La Bala to propel her career internationally on multiple platforms, including consumer products, music, short-and-long form original productions, social networks, live events and editorial, among others.

“En lo personal es un tema que me preocupa muchísimo desde hace ya bastante tiempo”, dijo Bala en una entrevista exclusiva con The Associated Press. “Creo que siempre nos hablan del tema, pero nunca nos damos tiempo de abrirnos para entenderlo más a fondo”.

Consciente de su propia plataforma — con más de 7 millones de seguidores en YouTube y más de 3 millones en Instagram — Bala, cuyo nombre verdadero es Isabella de la Torre, decidió que era el momento de alzar propia voz “para abrir los ojos de las personas y para que empecemos a hacer un cambio”.

Para “Planeta Bala”, Nickelodeon Latinomérica se asoció con la organización global The Nature Conservancy (TNC). La serie, que se transmitirá por TrendybyNick.com, fue creada y producida por Viacom Digital Studios International, The Americas.

Sus invitados van de famosos a activistas y expertos.

En un comunicado enviado por anticipado a la AP, Tatiana Rodríguez, vicepresidenta senior y jefa de marca para Nickelodeon Latinomérica, expresó que “no podríamos estar más emocionados de tener a Bala presentando el show y de contar con The Nature Conservancy como aliado en esta increíble iniciativa”.

“Reconocemos a los jóvenes como embajadores vitales del planeta”, dijo por su parte Debora Hertfelder, gerente de marketing de TNC para Latinoamérica. “Poder llevar nuestra ciencia a millones de niños en toda América Latina es muy importante para nosotros”.

Al igual que millones de estudiantes, Bala sigue tomando clases remotas durante la pandemia. Dijo que está en una escuela flexible que le permite continuar con sus actividades artísticas y profesionales, pero eso no quita que, como todos sus compañeros, tenga que hacer tareas.

La artista, que recientemente lanzó la canción “Como nunca' con Mati Gómez y está por estrenar una nueva versión de su tema “Pijama”, dijo que le gustaría que las escuelas enseñaran más sobre educación ambiental.

“He llegado a tocar el tema en clases, pero lo hemos tocado como un tema muy formal... Debería ser un tema mucho más hablado y mucho más informado, tanto en las escuelas como en los medios”, dijo Bala. “Realmente he aprendido mucho más fuera de la escuela porque no te enseñan todas las repercusiones que tiene el cambio climático”.

Un de sus consejos ambientales es comprar en tiendas a granel con tus propios envases o frascos para evitar el uso de plásticos desechables. También dijo que se pueden colocar bebederos para abejas con canicas en jardines para evitar que las abejas se ahoguen.

NICKELODEON

Начнём с новых серий и сезонов, а продолжим просто классными новостями.

«Опасный Отряд»

В ноябре нас ждёт ещё одна новая серия, а потом небольшой перерыв. В этом эпизоде мы (возможно) узнаем в кого влюблена Чапа, а ещё в нём же (скорее всего) появится Генри! Заинтриговали? Тогда не пропускай, в эту пятницу, 6 ноября в 16:05 МСК.

«Это Пони»

Начинаем смотреть новые серии в 14:30 по выходным с 14 ноября и продолжаем веееесь месяц. Будут серии про дружбу, про семью и даже одна хэллоуинская. Не пропускай!

«НУБЫ»

Да, наконец-то! Нам и самим уже не верится, но с 16 ноября по будням мы начнём показывать второй сезон! Ты ведь помнишь на чём мы остановились? Главные герои расслабились, ведь Геймовер повержен… Но! Кажется не всё так просто и новая угроза уже где-то рядом. Или даже старая?

В общем, в новом сезоне всё стало ещё круче, ещё сложнее, а героев ещё больше! Смотрим в то же время, 16:05 МСК.

P.S. Перерыв будет, но не так уж скоро :)

ДЕНЬ РОЖДЕНИЯ NICKELODEON

15 ноября мы отмечаем день рождения! По этому случаю в эфире новая серия «Рюкзака Олли» в 9:40 МСК, марафон клёвых серий «Губки Боба» в 12:30 МСК и новая серия «Это Пони» в 14:30 МСК.

А ещё: повтор финала «Опасного Генри» в 15:20 и повтор всех вышедших серий «Опасного отряда» в 16:05 МСК. Отмечаем вместе!

А дальше ничего нового… Но всё же лучше дочитать до конца :)
Снова в эфире: «Аватар: Легенда об Аанге»

Мы же говорили, что внимательно читаем сообщения и комментарии :) Аанг снова в эфире, по будням в 9:40 МСК, весь месяц! Что тут ещё скажешь))

Наконец-то наши любимчики в удобное время! Вернули минимум на месяц, смотри по будням в 22:55 МСК!

Возвращаем новости HD версии, постараемся коротко :) Кстати, эти серии ты уже мог видеть в эфире Nickelodeon, но если вдруг ты что-то пропустил, это отличный шанс их всё-таки заценить!

«Касагранде»

Смотрим новые серии со 2 по 19 ноября по будням в 19:40 МСК .

«Просто добавь магии»

Продолжаем просмотр третьего сезона по будням в 21:00 МСК. Впереди ещё 7 серий, смотрим до 10 ноября.

«Nickelodeon: Учитель на замену»

Остался один новый эпизод! Посмотрим в субботу, в 21:20 МСК.

«Опасный отряд»

А вот тут ещё две новых серии! Не пропускай, по воскресеньям в 21:00 МСК.

«Это Пони»

Пони вернулся к зрителям Nick HD на целых три недели! Причём тут будет парочка совсем новых серий, которых ещё никто не видел. Начинаем 9 ноября, смотрим по будням в 20:05 МСК.

«LEGO City Приключения»

Между прочим, зрителям канала очень повезло, ведь здесь мы смотрим уже второй сезон! На этот раз начинаем в понедельник 9 ноября с 7 серии второго сезона в 19:10 МСК. И смотрим по будням.

«Просто добавь магии: Таинственный город»

Решили не делать большой перерыв и показать спин-офф сразу. Начнём 23 ноября, показываем по будням в 21:00 МСК.

Ну вот и всё! Готовимся к зиме, праздникам и каникулам вместе :)

Nick Jr. UK to Premiere 'Paw Patrol: Jet To The Rescue' on Friday 27th November 2020

The PAW Patrol are set to Jet To The Rescue in their third made-for-TV movie, premiering Friday 27th November 2020 on Nick Jr. UK & Ireland!


In Paw Patrol: Jet To The Rescue, the Super Pups must defend Barkingburg from the Duke of Flappington, who has acquired the power of a mighty levitation gem! Also to add insult to injury, the Duke of Flappington plans to raise the entire village of Barkingburg into the sky using the stolen levitation device, so the pups really do have their work cut out for them!

The movie's synopsis reads: "Get Ready to zoom back to Barkingburg with the pups in this all-new movie! When the scheming Duke of Flappington steals a powerful levitation gem from the royal castle and uses its magical powers to raise Barkingburg into the clouds, Skye will need to overcome her biggest fears and lead the team in their biggest aerial rescue yet! Can PAW Patrol JET TO THE RESCUE and save the town before it is lost in the sky forever?" (#993)

Rider gives the mission briefing to Skye, Everest, and Tracker and reveals all-new jets.

Throughout the movie, the pups are going to be working overtime on this new rescue mission. Not only will they be expected to rescue Ryder and the other pups, they're also going to have to help out with Mayor Humdinger's kittens and save a stunt pilot.

Paw Patrol: Jet To The Rescue premiered on Nickelodeon USA on Friday, September 25, 2020, following a DVD release on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. The special also debuted theatrically in Australia and New Zealand.
