ViacomCBS Consumer Products Announces UK Partners for 'PAW Patrol: The Movie' Merchandise

ViacomCBS Consumer Products UK has signed 21 new and renewed partnerships for PAW Patrol: The Movie ahead of the film’s scheduled release into cinemas in August 2021.


The new licensing programme, due to hit shelves across the U.K. from July next year, includes products across an array of categories, including toys, apparel, accessories, consumer packaged goods, home, publishing and home entertainment.

Spin Master, producers of PAW Patrol and the master toy partner, will lead the roll-out by unveiling a specially developed toy line comprised of figures, plush, role play, vehicles and playsets, as well as a range of True Metal vehicles.

Further product launches in the U.K. will follow from a number of key licensees, including Play by Play, Crayola, Vtech, Sambro, RMS International and Kiddieland, who are all confirmed to create toys and games inspired from the new PAW Patrol movie look and feel.


On the home and apparel front, ViacomCBS Consumer Products has partnered with Blues and Fashion UK for daywear, Aykroyd TDP for nightwear and Amscan for costumes. Bedding and textiles will be created by Character World.

ViacomCBS Consumer Products will also continue its partnership with Worlds Apart, Kinnerton, Seabrook, Yoplait and Beiersdorf, as well as joining forces with new partners.

In the publishing space, Signature Gifts will release personalised books, and Egmont is set to release a PAW Patrol magazine special and movie tie-in books. Other partnerships include Danilo for social expressions and DNC and Sambro for back-to-school accessories.

PAW Patrol: The Movie is a Spin Master Entertainment production in association with Nickelodeon Movies and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

Venetia Davie, Vice President (VP) of ViacomCBS Consumer Products for the U.K. and Ireland, said: “PAW Patrol continues to shine in the pre-school space, dominating across traditional TV, streaming services, digital and retail, with next year’s movie set to be a summer cinema hit. We’re excited to be collaborating with such strong partners including Paramount Pictures and Spin Master, ensuring that the magic of the big-screen is translated into products which children up and down country will continue to love long after they have seen the movie.”

"No city is too big; no pup is too small!" In PAW Patrol: The Movie, Ryder and the pups are called to Adventure City to stop Mayor Humdinger from turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos. Get ready for exciting missions, high-stake rescues, new pups and amazing new vehicles making this the biggest Paw Patrol story ever!

The feature film will feature the voices of Kim Kardashian West, Dax Shepard (Chips, Idiocracy), Jimmy Kimmel, Tyler Perry (The Star), Yara Shahidi (Black-ish), Randall Park (Fresh Off The Boat, The Interview), Iain Armitage (Young Sheldon), Marsai Martin (Black-ish), and Will Brisbin (Forbidden Playground).

ViacomCBS Announces Major UK Merchandising Programme for 'Blues Clues & You!'

A raft of licensees was announced at the Festival of Licensing. Partners on board include Kid Designs, Kimm & Miller, Imagine8, Fashion UK, Character World, Amscan, Egmont and Signature Gifts.


Building upon the momentum of the successful debut of Blue’s Clues & You!, the reimagined Nick Jr. pre-school series, ViacomCBS Consumer Products (VCP) has confirmed a raft of partners for the hit show in the UK. The news, announced by Venetia Davie, Vice President (VP), VCP, UK & Ireland during this year’s virtual Festival of Licensing, supports the launch of a major licensing programme for the property which will first hit the shelves in July 2021.

This follows on from the announcement last year that VCP has partnered with leading global toy company, Just Play, which will be the property’s master toy partner and will enable the children’s brand to develop a line of toys aimed at pre-schoolers aged 2-5 years old. The varied line, which includes plush and interactive toys, will enhance the key brand attributes to translate success from screen to shelves across the UK marketplace.

Additional partners for the pre-school brand include Kid Designs for consumer electronics, Imagine8 on accessories and Kimm & Miller for novelty food gifting.

Fashion UK, who also partners with VCP for Paw Patrol: The Movie, will cover daywear, while Character World will focus on bedding and Amscan on costume and dress up. In the publishing space, Egmont has acquired the UK rights for Blue’s Clues & You! themed magazines and Signature Gifts on personalised books.


Since launching in April this year in the UK, Blue’s Clues & You! has quickly become a key driver for Nick Jr. – since launch, the show ranks as the No.4 show on the channel, only behind ratings juggernauts Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig as well as recently launched The Adventures of Paddington. A remake of the ground-breaking, curriculum-driven interactive series Blue’s Clues, Blue’s Clues & You! follows Blue as she invites viewers to join her and the host Josh on a clue-led adventure and solve a puzzle in each episode. With each signature paw print, Blue identifies clues in her animated world that propel the story and inspire the audience to interact with the characters.

“It’s indicative of the huge popularity of Blue’s Clues & You! that toys and products have been in such overwhelming demand since the series relaunched earlier this year,” commented Venetia. “It’s fantastic that Just Play is on board as master toy licensee, and I cannot wait to see how they, together with our other partners, turn Blue and her universe into toys and playthings for this next generation to enjoy.”

Blue’s Clues & You! will be launching this month on Channel 5’s Milkshake! with a second season heading to Nick Jr. in November and a third season already greenlit for 2021. The property is also available in different formats, including a dedicated YouTube channel which received over 98m global views between March and July this year alone and the Storytime with Josh & Blue podcast which launched this summer on Spotify, reaching over 100k people in just three weeks.

Nickelodeon Italy Announces SlimeFest 2020

Nickelodeon Italy (Italia) has announced plans to host SlimeFest 2020, the channel's fifth annual localised version of Nickelodeon's slime-filled, multiplatform music and entertainment event!


Due to the on-going COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, SlimeFest 2020 Italia will take on a whole new format. Instead of a live event, SlimeFest 2020 will be a TV special full of surprises, special guests and, of course, Nickelodeon Slime that will come directly from Nickelodeon's "Secret" laboratories!

Hosted by Cecilia Cantarano and Valeria Vedovatti, winners of "Nuova Star Italiana" and "Internet Star Italiana", respectively at Kids' Choice Awards 2020SlimeFest 2020 will premiere on Nickelodeon Italia on Friday 11th December at 20:00.

Additional talent will be announced in the coming weeks.

Leading up to SlimeFest 2020, Nickelodeon will air "Road to SlimeFest", which will introduce viewers to the artists and guests who will be appearing on the show.

Henry Danger fa spazio a Danger Force

I supereroi hanno sempre fatto presa sul pubblico televisivo e soprattutto su quello più giovane, che negli ultimi anni si è appassionato alle vicende de I Thunderman ed Henry Danger. Ed è proprio sulle orme di quest’ultima serie che nasce il nuovo progetto di Nickelodeon, al via oggi alle 19.10: si tratta del suo seguito Danger Force, prodotto dal protagonista principale Jace Norman.

L’interprete di Henry Kart, appena ventenne, ha deciso di sfruttare al massimo la serie che gli ha dato la popolarità, realizzandone questo sequel insieme a Cooper Barnes, già volto del supereroe Capitan Man, che avevo trasformato Henry nel suo assistente Kid Danger. Ma, mentre Norman si limiterà a restare dietro le quinte, Barnes tornerà a dar vita al suo personaggio, affiancato da Michael D. Cohen, che riporterà sullo schermo lo scienziato Schwoz.

Danger Force: trama e cast

I due fonderanno una scuola di formazione per giovani supereroi, la Swellview Academy, partendo da alcune reclute inesperte che dovrebbero diventare i nuovi idoli dei ragazzini. Si tratta di Chapa (Havan Flores), Miles (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Mika (Dana Heath) e Bose (Luca Luhan), che insieme formeranno la Danger Force e dovranno allenarsi duramente, imparare a mentire come fanno i supereroi, difendere la città ed evitare di fare troppe brutte figure. La scuola, per essere presa sul serio, dovrà, infatti, conquistare una licenza e superare dei test.

Gli episodi della prima stagione, trasmessi negli Stati Uniti dallo scorso mese di marzo, sono in tutto tredici, a cui vanno aggiunti cinque corti. La serie sarà accompagnata in video dalla repliche di Henry Danger, tuttora presenti in diverse fasce orarie nel palinsesto del canale satellitare.

Pluto TV to Launch in Brazil in December 2020

ViacomCBS-owned Pluto TV will will be expanding its reach in South America by launching in Brazil in December, the media giant has said.


The advertising-supported Video on Demand (AVoD) service will launch across all mobile, web and connected TV streaming devices with 24 curated streaming channels including: Pluto TV Cine Sucessos, Pluto TV Cine Comédia, Pluto TV Cine Drama, Pluto TV Cine Terror, Pluto TV Séries, Pluto TV Retrô, MTV Pluto TV, Pluto TV Anime, Pluto TV Investiga, Pluto TV Natureza, Pluto TV Junior, Nick Jr. Club (featuring preschool programming from Nickelodeon), Pluto TV Kids, and Nick Clássico (featuring retro Nickelodeon favourites).

Update (19/10) - Pluto TV Brasil will also launch with a dedicated Rocko's Modern Life (A vida moderna de Rocko) channel!

Pluto TV will offer an extensive film library for Brazilian audiences, including Babel (starring Brad Pitt), Blue Jasmine (starring Cate Blanchett), Underworld (starring Kate Beckinsale), The Big Wedding (starring Diane Keaton and Robert DeNiro), Blue Valentine (starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams), Burnt (starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller), Mud (starring Matthew McConaughey), The Paperboy (starring Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (starring Will Ferrell), Snowpiercer (starring Chris Evans), Transporter 3 (starring Jason Statham) and classic Star Trek films.

JC Acosta, president of ViacomCBS Networks Americas, said: “Following the launch of Pluto TV in Latin America earlier this year, the service has quickly attracted millions of viewers in a short period of time and we are incredibly proud of its performance. As ViacomCBS Networks International continues to expand its streaming presence globally, the expansion of Pluto TV furthers this mission and enables audiences in Brazil to enjoy premium streaming content entirely for free.”

Pluto TV launched in Spanish-speaking Latin America in April when it became available in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, El Salvador, Uruguay and Venezuela, and now has 46 live and original channels as well thousands of on-demand movies in partnership with major TV networks, movie studios, publishers, and digital media companies, from all genres and for all ages. Globally, Pluto TV claims to reache 33 million monthly active users. To date, Pluto TV in Latin America has signed on Liverpool store in Mexico, DirecTV, Movistar, Telecom, Unilever, Rappi, Mondelez and Mercado Libre as advertising partners for the streaming service.

The global service is proving to be increasingly important for ViacomCBS as it gears up for the launch of its ‘super service’ streamer next year.

Speaking during the company’s most recent earnings call, CEO Bob Bakish said that the new product will be designed to complement its AVOD service Pluto TV and that they will “move in parallel”.

In recent months, Pluto TV announced distribution agreements with Hisense and LG and is in conversations with other smart TV manufacturers, mobile and broadband operators, e-commerce services, and other digital distribution partners in the region.

As of the end of Q2, Pluto TV was registering 33 million monthly active users.

The company does not break down figures into regions, but international operations – encompassing both Europe and Latin America – registered 6.5 million users on June 30. In the U.S., the platform grew 61% year over year.

Earlier this week, Pluto announced they expanded their categories and added 12 new channels in the U.S. Some of those include channels dedicated to Three’s Company, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and classic comedies and dramas like Roseanne and Married… with Children. Nick Games and Nick Movies moved to Pluto TV Tween.

Over the last few months, Pluto TV has been updating their streaming player and mobile apps with a brand new interface to make navigation of their hundreds of channels easier than ever. The company has now expanded their categories to make it easier to find just the content you want.

The new categories include: Movies, Entertainment, Featured, News + Opinion, Reality, Crime, Comedy, Classic TV, Home + DIY, Explore, Sports, Gaming + Anime, Music, Latino and Kids.

ViacomCBS also announced that Pluto TV saw a spike in users on the platform in their Q2 2020 earnings report. The service reached 26.5 million domestic monthly active users. This is up from the 24 million active monthly users they reported last quarter and significantly higher than the 22 million they announced the previous quarter.

ViacomCBS is also planning to launch Pluto TV in Spain by the end of 2020 and France and Italy in 2021.

Segundo comunicado enviado à imprensa, os canais ofertados pelo Pluto TV vão desde comédia e drama a terror, séries, programas de investigação, natureza e atrações para o público infantil. Cada um desses canais vem com essa subcategoria – Pluto TV Cine Drama, Pluto TV Retrô, MTV Pluto TV, Pluto TV Investiga, Pluto TV Kids, e por aí vai -, e será possível assistir toda a programação pelo celular, computador ou Smart TV.

Já entre os filmes disponíveis no serviço, a companhia destaca Babel, Blue Jasmine, Anjos da Noite, O Casamento do Ano, Namorados Para Sempre, Pegando Fogo, Amor Bandido, Obsessão, Expresso do Amanhã, e os títulos clássicos da saga Star Trek. A maioria das produções vem dos estúdios Paramount, que é de propriedade da ViacomCBS. A empresa norte-americana também é dona dos canais de TV por assinatura MTV, Nickelodeon e Comedy Central.

Em todo o mundo, o Pluto TV já atua em 22 de países, com um total de 33 milhões de usuários ativos por mês. Para efeito de comparação, a Netflix, que cobra uma assinatura mensal, fechou o primeiro trimestre deste ano com quase 183 milhões de usuários no mundo, sendo que 15 milhões estão no Brasil. O Globoplay, plataforma de streaming do Grupo Globo, tem um número menor: 6,5 milhões em 2020, de acordo com um levantamento recente.

E como o Pluto TV pretende sobreviver sem cobrar nada do usuário? Usando publicidade, uma vez que anunciantes pagam para colocar suas marcas no serviço. Na América Latina, a plataforma tem patrocínios como Mercado Livre, DirecTV, Movistar, Telecom, Unilever, Mondelez e Rappi. Também anunciou acordos com Hisense e LG, além de estar em negociações com outras fabricantes de Smart TV, operadoras de celular e banda larga, sites de comércio eletrônico e outros parceiros de distribuição.

É um modelo bem parecido ao Crackle, serviço de streaming gratuito lançado pela Sony em 2012 na América Latina. A plataforma tinha exatamente a mesma proposta: uma alternativa gratuita com filmes e séries, embora fossem apenas produções da Sony Pictures. A empreitada durou até 2016, quando a empresa limitou o acesso somente para assinantes de TV a cabo. Desde abril de 2019, o Crackle foi desativado no Brasil, e todo o catálogo do serviço foi transferido para os canais Sony Entertainment Television e AXN, ambos na TV paga.

Vale lembrar que, há cerca de uma semana, a empresa espanhola Vix lançou no Brasil o Vix Cine e TV, plataforma online que reúne séries, documentários, filmes, shows, conteúdos educativos, entre outras opções. O serviço também é totalmente gratuito e pode ser acessado via TV, smartphone e PC.

Dal 5 novembre su Netflix – tranne negli Stati Uniti che verrà distribuito da CBS All Access, Canada e Cina dove se ne occuperà Paramount Pictures – arriverà il film d’animazione SpongeBob: Amici in fuga. Il film è diretto e scritto da Tim Hill, da un soggetto di Tim Hill, Jonathan Aibel e Glenn Berger, il film è prodotto da Ryan Harris e vede Stephen Hillenburg, creatore della serie, come produttore esecutivo.

Si tratta del primo film della serie SpongeBob ed è realizzato in CGI stilizzato anziché in animazione 2D tradizionale. Il film è prodotto da Paramount Animation, Nickelodeon Movies e United Plankton Pictures, animato dallo società Mikros Image e doveva uscire a inizio 2021 distribuito da Paramount Pictures. Nel luglio Netflix si aggiudicò i diritti di distribuzione internazionale fissando la data di uscita per novembre.

SpongeBob: Amici in fuga vede un prestigioso cameo dell’attore Keanu Reeves, nei panni del Saggio. Le musiche sono composte dal maestro Hans Zimmer.

La trama
Dopo che Gary, l’amato animale domestico di SpongeBob, è stato rapito, la famosa spugna di mare e il suo migliore amico Patrick Stella si imbarcano in un’avventura epica nella Città Perduta di Atlantic City per riportare Gary a casa. Mentre si destreggiano tra le delizie e i pericoli di questa divertente ma allo stesso tempo rischiosa missione di salvataggio, SpongeBob e i suoi amici dimostrano che non c’è niente di più forte del potere dell’amicizia.

ViacomCBS Launches NickMusic in Brazil

Nick News Mini: ViacomCBS Networks Américas has launched NickMusic, Nickelodeon's music channel for kids in Brazil!


NickMusic Brasil reportedly launched on Brazilian telecommunications company TVC on Sunday 18th October 2020. The channel can be found at 20.4.

The news follows ViacomCBS launching NickMusic in Latin America in September 2020.

It's currently unknown whether ViacomCBS is also planning to launch Nick Music on additional operators, such as SKY and Claro.

It's also currently unknown what feed NickMusic Brasil uses - whether it's own independent feed, the "global" NickMusic feed, or NickMusic USA, however, as NickMusic Latinoamérica uses the latter, its more than likely that the Brazilian channel does, too.

The news also comes as ViacomCBS is planning to launch its advertising-supported Video on Demand (AVoD) service Pluto TV in Brazil in December. Among its launch line-up will be serveral Nickelodeon-themed channels, including: Nick Jr. Club, Pluto TV Kids, Nick Clássico and A vida moderna de Rocko. There will also be a channel dedicated to the hit anime series Naruto.


Canal NickMusic entra na TV por assinatura brasileira

Canal do grupo Nickelodeon surgiu discretamente na grade de uma operadora regional; saiba mais detalhes.

No último domingo, 18 de outubro, o canal NickMusic surgiu discretamente na grade da TVC, provedor regional de internet, telefonia e TV por assinatura.

A inclusão surpreende já que a emissora pertence ao grupo Nickelodeon, da imponente ViacomCBS.

O esperado era que o canal fizesse um lançamento mais alarmante e integrado nas líderes do mercado de TV paga como SKY e Claro net.

Assinantes da TVC HD em São José (SC) já podem conferir a programação da nova emissora pelo número 20.4.

O NickMusic é uma espécie de extensão do Nickelodeon, porém focado na música.

A programação, inclusive, lembra muito a dos canais MTV Hits e VH1 MegaHits por causa da concentração em videoclipes musicais.

No entanto, a exibição é mais direcionada para o público infanto-juvenil, que é parte da estratégia do grupo.

ViacomCBS Consumer Products has released a brand new web ad for Nickelodeon's beloved SpongeBob SquarePants brand!


The animated ad, above, teases fans by saying: "Dive Deeper Into The Universe Of... SpongeBob SquarePants - Unexplored Bikini Bottom Stories Take Center Stage in 2021!"

It's currently unknown what the advertisement refers to. Could it be talking about the series, which is just about to enter its 13th season? Could it be the franchise's brand new movie, Sponge on the Run and spin-off series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years? Could it be a brand new immersive experience, like The Bikini Bottom Experience? The ad has been placed on trade news websites, such as License Global by ViacomCBS Consumer Products, the licensing and merchandising division of Nickelodeon's parent company, ViacomCBS, however, it could still be referring to any of the aforementioned, or something that's still to be announced.

Karisma Previews New Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya Vacation Destination; To Open in 2021 [Updated]

Update (21/7/2020) - Karisma Hotels and Resorts has revealed that Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya will feature a water park with 10 slides and a theater with a capacity for 500 people! Its also rumoured that travel agents will start taking bookings for Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya in October 2020 for a Spring 2021 opening!

Update (23/4/2020) - Karisma Hotels and Resorts has revealed that the opening of Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya has been delayed slightly, and is now set to open in 2021.

Update (11/5) - Karisma Hotels and Resorts has revealed that the opening of Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya has been delayed slightly, and is now set to open towards the end of 2020. It's also been revealed that the resort will have a slime river.

Unfortunately, it's also been revealed that a construction worker has been injured in an accident on the construction site of Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya. The worker, who fell from a height whilst welding structure, has since been compensated 500 pesos.

Karisma Hotels and Resorts’ new Nickelodeon hotel in Mexico is now set to open in 2020. At the organization’s annual Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultants Awards (GIVC Awards), Travel Agent spoke with Kelly Poling, Karisma’s senior vice president of marketing, to learn the latest on what guests and agents can expect from the new property. The 11th annual GIVC Awards took place at the El Dorado Royale Riviera Maya, a Spa Resort by Karisma from December 5 – 8.

“When it opens it’s going to become our new flagship Nickelodeon hotel,” Poling says.

Situated next to Karisma’s Generations Riviera Maya property, the newbuild Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya will draw some design inspiration from its fellow family-friendly resort, Poling says. For example, its extra-large rooms will be configurable into one-, two- or three-bedroom suites to allow maximum flexibility for multigenerational groups, or families who wish to have a separate room for the kids. Every room will also have two bathrooms.

That said, the new hotel will also have plenty of Nickelodeon-themed features, as well.

“We’re making everything with Nickelodeon in mind,” Poling says.

SpongeBob's Pineapple House at Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana

The popular SpongeBob SquarePants-themed Pineapple Villa from Karisma’s first Nickelodeon property in Punta Cana will be here. In a similar vein, there will also be a new, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed “lair” Penthouse, as well. All told, there will be four character-themed Penthouse suites on the resort’s roof, all of which will have infinity pool swim-up access.

Another key selling point: “All of our rooms will be oceanfront,” says Poling. Additionally, every room – regardless of floor – will have swim-up access. In addition to the four Penthouses, there will be 276 Pad Suites and Flat Suites. The rooms will be set across two six-story buildings, in a design reminiscent of the Generations property.

Another major difference from the Punta Cana property will be the resort’s water park, which, at 500,000 square feet, will be much bigger. “It’s five to 10 times bigger than the one in Punta Cana,” says Poling.


Dubbed “Aqua Nick,” the new water park will have activities ranging from a lazy river to waterslides, a splash park and an interactive water playground for toddlers to mini relaxation pools. The variety of activities will be one way that the resort appeals to kids of multiple age ranges.

“The water park will be organized into different ‘lands,’” says Poling, with a more toddler-friendly land and a land with more thrill-type rides for teens.

“I think the Nickelodeon characters can appeal to kids of all ages as well,” Poling says, citing more young-kid-friendly characters like the pups from Paw Patrol and Dora the Explorer, as well as characters like SpongeBob, who can appeal to older kids.

The variety of activities could be a draw for repeat guests from the Punta Cana property, Polling hopes. “As children get older, they can ‘graduate’ to the Riviera Maya resort,” she says.

In terms of the resort’s culinary product, Poling says that the focus will be on experiential, social media-friendly venues and dishes.


“We know that people want to be able to see and capture amazing images, so we’ll have plenty of ‘Instagrammable’ dishes,” Poling says. “For example, at the Punta Cana property, we have the ‘Machete Burger’ – it’s so big, they have to cut it at the table with a giant machete. We’ll be carrying those types of things over to the Riviera Maya.”

All told the property will have six restaurants, including the Bikini Bottom fast-casual restaurant, the seafront Yacht Club, and the Mexican cantina Expadin, as well as four bars, including Bikini Bottom Bar, The Bar, and two swim-up bars. There will also be a Lobby Lounge that will aim to serve as a family-centric hub with music, entertainment and broadcasts of live sporting events. Much of the resort’s organic produce will be sourced from Karisma’s greenhouse, which is located next store at the El Dorado.

Karisma expanding with Nickelodeon, Margaritaville hotel brands

Karisma Hotels & Resorts is expanding its footprint in the Caribbean.

The hotel company, which has several resort brands under its umbrella, has already made quite the name for itself in the Mexican Caribbean as well as Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. When it comes to expanding, it is showing no signs of slowing down.

"We own a massive stretch of beach property, called Sugarcane Bay, in Jamaica," Kelly Poling, senior vice president of marketing for Karisma, told me. I was on location at the Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant awards, Karisma's annual awards ceremony and marketing forum for its top-producing agents, held every year at El Dorado Royale just outside of Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

"We own a number of different plots," Poling said. The plan is to build "a complex of hotels, which will be a combination of Karisma-built hotels and others that will be built [separately] and that Karisma will manage."

Poling elaborated that this is the opportunity to build out the brands that Karisma is most focused on at the moment, Nickelodeon and Margaritaville, an All-Inclusive Experience by Karisma.

There is a Nickelodeon hotel in Punta Cana and one in construction in Riviera Maya, which will be located next to the Generations Riviera Maya property when it opens in 2020.

One of the first hotels to open in Sugarcane Bay, Jamaica, will be a Margaritaville. Poling said that the Margaritaville brand could be applied to almost any island on the Caribbean. "Jamaica is obvious," she said. "As it stands now, the first will open in Riviera Maya, but shortly thereafter it will open in Jamaica. We've looked at the entirety of the Caribbean that has hotel inventory, and we think that Margaritaville can be supported anywhere."

With that said, the plan is not to bring massive hotels to smaller islands. The primary reason that Karisma envisions Margaritaville on smaller islands is that the Margaritaville hotels are flexible, from small hotels of 100 to 200 rooms on up. "When we build in Jamaica and the Riviera Maya, the resorts will be large," Poling said. "But smaller islands with smaller room inventory are possible for a boutique offering."

As for Nickelodeon, the next one to open will be in Riviera Maya in 2020. This resort, with 276 oceanfront swim-up suites, as well as four signature Penthouses, will be the flagship property. It is being built from the ground up.

Karisma is looking at expansion opportunities for Nickelodeon all over Latin America, where Poling said brand awareness is strong.

Karisma Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its presence in the Mexican Caribbean. At the company's 2018 Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant (GIVC) awards and marketing forum last week, I learned about the company's aggressive growth plans for the region.

Karisma's latest property, Xolumado Inspiration Village, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony during GIVC. The village, which had its soft opening this month and will have its official opening in January, was announced at last year's conference. Tucked in the jungle behind Generations Riviera Maya, Xolumado Inspiration Village comprises 41 villas within 2.5 acres of a jungle retreat.

Surrounded by gardens and pathways, Xolumado Inspiration Village has cottages in three suite categories: Serenity Suites, which have palm thatched roofs, open terraces, and Mexican and Asian-inspired decor; the Zen Garden Suite, with a private balcony; and the Tranquility Suite, which comprises two adjoining Zen Garden Suites. The property also has a pool, access to beach cabanas, and the Xolumado Restaurant BBQ & Bar.

The vibe at Xolumado is tranquility and relaxation, with daily yoga and meditation, and a Shhh Experience complete with sound healing, outdoor breathing exercises and massage lessons. There are also Spanish and Mayan classes, Mexican cooking classes, tequila and mezcal tastings, movie nights in the jungle, pottery painting, diving and wine pairings. Guests can also access Generations Riviera Maya, including its five restaurants, three bars, lounges, pool and beach.

Karisma is also in the process of constructing Mexico's first Nickelodeon Hotel & Resort Riviera Maya, which will open in 2020 right next door to Generations Riviera Maya.

Nickelodeon already has a property in Punta Cana, but this will be the brand's first for Mexico. "This will be the flagship Nickelodeon," said Kelly Poling, senior vice president of marketing for Karisma. "As great as the Punta Cana property is, this hotel from pencil to paper was always going to be a Nickelodeon and I think it will be the best in the portfolio."

The resort will have 276 oceanfront swim-up suites, plus four Nickelodeon-themed signature Penthouses on top of the two six-story buildings. Penthouses are being designed in accordance with Nickelodeon characters like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob Square Pants. All four penthouses will have infinity pool swim-up access, and sky-high oceanfront views of the property's white-sand beach.

But the piece de resistance of this property will be Aqua Nick, a 500,000-square-foot water park, and one of the largest water parks in Mexico. Activities will include a lazy river, waterslides, splash park, an interactive water playground for toddlers and mini relaxation pools.

At the heart of the resort will be Nickelodeon Place, where guests of all ages can mingle with characters like Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob. Within the Place is Club Nick, a hangout for kids; Plaza Orange, for music and games; and MainStage, a theater for entertainment experiences. A spa has kids' treatments, individual suites, couple's suites, a bridal suite, and outdoor treatment areas.

Restaurants will be part of the Gourmet Inclusive Experience, from the seafront Yacht Club to the Mexican cantina, Espadin. The Bikini Bottom gourmet corner is a fast, casual, midday meal venue, and guests will also have access to the restaurants at Generations Riviera Maya.

"Nickelodeon has extreme brand awareness," said Poling. "When looking at where to expand we did a study on the entirety of Latin America. Nickelodeon reaches 25-30 percent of kids in Latin America. It's a vast household name." Karisma has plans to expand the brand across Latin America, but Poling specifically noted looking at Colombia, Brazil and Argentina.

Karisma’s second Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts property will open in the Riviera Maya in 2020. Mandy Chomat, chief sales and marketing officer at Karisma, said the project was set back a few months for various reasons, including delays in securing permits needed for the hotel’s main attraction, the water park.

This will follow the successful debut of Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, which Chomat said has been “booming” amongst both the U.S. Millennial market and the local Dominican Republic market since it opened in 2016.

Chomat said Karisma will officially be announcing the third location for Nickelodeon within the next six months, but told TravelPulse that Cartagena, Colombia could very likely be that destination.

Karisma already has three properties in Colombia, including two in Cartagena, all in the form of the company’s Allure Hotels, which are all high-end, boutique, EP properties. Allure Bonbon, by Karisma and Allure Chocolat are located in Cartagena, while Allure Cafe Mocawa is located in Armenia.

Rafael Feliz, chairman and CEO of Karisma, also added that Jamaica is also in consideration for the third location.

Although Nickelodeon will continue to have a growing presence in the Caribbean and Mexico, it appears the brand is heavily targeting Central and South American destinations.

“Let's just say we would love to have a Nickelodeon in every single country in Latin America,” said Chomat. “We are looking at every single country to see which ones would work and the best plans. We are always scouting land and always looking at places where we can get a lot of the domestic market in these locations.”

Feliz told TravelPulse that Peru, Brazil and Panama will all be scouted for possible Nickelodeon hotels. However, two Latin America destinations you might be able to cross off the list of potential Nickelodeon landing spots are Argentina and Ecuador, mainly due to obstacles the weather at each destination could pose for an outdoor resort, said Feliz. Feliz also told us Dubai is being looked into as a possible Nickelodeon destination.

Rienk de Jong, vice president of sales and marketing at Premier Worldwide Marketing / Karisma Hotels & Resorts, noted that many locals in the destinations Nickelodeon is eyeing do not have visas, making it even more likely that a heavy portion of Nickelodeon’s Latin America business will be domestic.

“Nickelodeon has a lot of brand recognition,” said de Jong, “and a lot of the destinations (in Latin America) have a lot of locals who don’t have visas, so they cannot travel to the U.S. for something like Nickelodeon.”

If you weren’t one of the nearly 600 travel advisors to attend Karisma Hotels & Resorts’ 11th annual Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant (GIVC) awards, AGENTatHOME will fill you in on what you missed—and explain why this news should be on your radar.

The event drew some of the industry’s top producers to El Dorado Royale in the Riviera Maya for education, networking and honors.

Major Jamaica Expansion

Donnie Dawson, deputy director of tourism, sales, U.S. and Latin America for the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), was in attendance for the first time in the show’s history, a sign of Karisma’s recently increased business in Jamaica.

The biggest deal between Karisma and Jamaica in recent years came in the form of the Sugar Cane Jamaica deal, which over the next 10 years will add 5,000 rooms in seven hotels.

And as for new developments in its existing Jamaica hotels, the company recently announced the debut of an adults-only section at Azul Beach Resort Negril by Karisma.

Nickelodeon Riviera Maya

El proyecto hotelero de cinco estrellas Nickelodeon, que se esperaba abriera sus puertas en el verano de 2018, no podrá abrir hasta finales del 2020, debido a la realización de una ampliación en las obras de su parque acuático, según informa la vicepresidenta de Grupo Lomas Travel, Samanta Frachey.

El proyecto de 276 habitaciones se construye en la zona norte del municipio, en los límites con el municipio de Puerto Morelos y cuenta con una inversión de 120 millones de dólares, que incluye la ampliación de este parque acuático. Se trata de un hotel temático con personajes de series infantiles como Bob Esponja, Las Tortugas Ninja y Dora la Exploradora.

Samanta Frachey ha señalado que se realizó una revisión de las obras del parque acuático que tendrá capacidad hasta para mil 200 personas. El hotel tiene el 60 por ciento de avance, el parque, no obstante, está al 45%, según informa Quintana Roo Hoy. Con la apertura de este hotel se prevé generar entre 600 y mil empleos directos, dependiendo de las estaciones y las temporadas.

A host of Nickelodeon stars have received  nominations in the 2020 Young Entertainer Awards (YEA)!


Like most other award ceremonies, Hollywood's 5th Annual YEA ceremony will be held virtually, taking place online on Sunday, October 25 from 2:00-4:30 p.m. Pacific time, streaming live on Facebook and YouTube. There is no charge but proceeds from donations will support scholarships for young people who wish to pursue a career in filmmaking.

The YEA recognizes actors, filmmakers and musicians under the age of 21, in a range of categories including feature length films, short films, television, stage, web series, commercials, voiceovers and more.

Among this years YEA nominees are:

Gem sister Mercedes Lomelino, who as been nominated for "Best Recurring Young Actress | Television Series" for her roles on Nickelodeon's revived All That.

Every Witch Way star Paris Smith has been nominated for "Best Guest Starring Young Actress | Television Series" for her guest starring role as Princess Dimples on Knight Squad.

Keegan Hedley has been nominated for the "Best Young Actor 10 and Under | Voice Over Role" award for voicing Rubble on PAW Patrol.

Giselle Lomelino has been nominated in the "Best Young Actress | Voice Over Role" category for voicing Miley and Dusty in Nickelodeon's webseries, The JoJo & BowBow Show Show.

Ava Close has been nominated for "Best Young Actress 12 and Under | Voice Over Role" for voicing Clarissa in Nick Jr.'s Corn & Peg.

Christian Convery has been nominated for the "Best Leading Young Actor | Feature Film" award for his portrayal of Will in Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures Playing With Fire. He's also been nominated for "Best Performance in an Independent or Film Festival Feature Film | Young Actor" for playing Willian in Cinemundo and for "Best Leading Young Actor 10 and Under | Television Series" for Disney Channel's Pup Academy.

And Brianna Denski, Sofia Mali, Oev Michael Urbas have been nominated for "Best Ensemble Cast | Voice Over Role" for voicing June, Young June, and Banky, respectively, in Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures Wonder Park.

Finally,  Keith L. Williams, star of Nickelodeon's upcoming sci-fi series The Astronauts, has been nominated for "Best Young Ensemble Cast | Feature Film" for his role in Good Boys, along with his co-stars Jacob Tremblay, Brady Noon and Lina Renna.

Keke Palmer is an actress, music artist, host, author, humanitarian and a passionate voice for her generation. ViacomCBS to Launch TeenNick Channel in Hungary

ViacomCBS Networks Central and Eastern Europe are set to launch a TeenNick channel in Hungary (Magyarország)!


A launch date for TeenNick Magyarország has still to be announced, but the channel will replace RTL Spike on the EPG, which will be closing due to low ratings. Launched in December 2016, RTL Spike is completely owned and operated by ViacomCBS, with RTL Group's lending its name to the channel.

The news comes as ViacomCBS has been expanding Nickelodeon's TeenNick brand globally, including launches in Latin America and Greece. There are also TeenNick channels in Israel, France and the Middle East.

TeenNick is Nickelodeon's brand exclusively for and about teens and tweens that features a distinct perspective that connects its audience to the electricity and possibilities of teendom, anytime and anywhere, with original series and ever-popular favourites. TeenNick is available in more than 71 million households via cable, digital cable and satellite as well as on mobile, VOD and broadband.

TeenNick will join Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons in the country.

It's currently unknown whether ViacomCBS CEE will roll out TeenNick to other countries within Central and Eastern Europe, such as Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia.

Megszűnik az RTL Spike, felváltja a tiniket megcélzó TeenNick.

Az RTL Spike 2016-os debütálása óta rengeteg szériát mutatott be a magyar nézőknek, ám az utóbbi időben leginkább csak árnyéka volt önmagának. Sohasem tudta igazán megtalálni a saját közönségét. A műsorszerkezete napközben többnyire ismétlésekre épült. A premiertartalmaik folyamatosan szorultak egyre jobban vissza az esti órákra. Hiába próbálkoztak különböző sorozatokkal és filmekkel, kiugrást csupán a The Walking Dead világpremierrel érkező epizódjai tudtak okozni. Utolsó újdonságai között az október végén érkező A halottkém új évadja fogja jelenteni. Az elmúlt évek során realityk és nagyobbaknak szánt animációk színesítették a kínálatot. Itt volt látható a Pumpedék vagy a Playback párbaj. Először volt látható A galaxis őrzői animációs széria, a Batman: A rajzfilmsorozatot pedig szintén az RTL Spike-nak köszönhetően láthattuk végig, a hiányzó részek szinkronizálásával. Népszerű sorozatok is bemutatkoztak az elmúlt években: A visszatérők (The 100), Sötét árvák (Black Orphan) vagy az iZombie szintén itt debütáltak magyar nyelven.

A Nickelodeon és alcsatornái – a már sok éve bejáratott kicsiket megcélzó Nick Jr. és a viszonylag meglehetősen újnak számít rajzfilmekre kihegyeződő NickToons – már sok éve dominálják a magyar nézettségi toplistákat. Így feltehetően nem szorul sok magyarázásra, hogy a ViacomCBS miért döntött arról, hogy újrapozicionálják a még 2016-ban, az RTL brandinggel indított csatornájukat. A névvel, és a közhiedelemmel ellentétben a csatorna kezelését teljes egészében a ViacomCBS intézte. Így a váltás nem fog fennakadásokat okozni az üzemeltetőnek. 

Harsányi Gábor, a Viacom közép-kelet-európai vezérigazgatója annyival magyarázta a Spike átalakulását, hogy a csatorna nézettsége nem hozta az elvárt szintet. Pontos információkat nem közöltek a változás időpontjáról. Amint további információk derülnek ki a dátumról és az induló TeenNick műsorainak listájáról, arról beszámolunk majd. A TeenNick a tengeren túlon egész nap a tini és a fiatal felnőtt közönséget célozza meg, az estéket pedig a a NickRewind (korábban: NickSplat) műsorblokkja tölti ki, ahol a csatornához tartozó retro sorozatokból csemegézhetnek a nézők. Ennek a magyar érkezéséről azonban jelenleg nincs semmi információ. A csatornák tematikája változik, azonban a ViacomCBS piacvezető pozíciója továbbra is állandó marad.

Ennyivel azonban nem merülnek ki a változások: A ViacomCBS azonban nem mond le az általános szórakoztató tartalmaikról. A bejáratott Paramount filmcsatornájuk (jelenleg Paramount Channel néven) is átalakuláson megy át. Kiszakad a filmek bezártságából és átveszi a csatornacsalád általános szórakoztató szerepét, melyre az is utalt korábban, hogy a Yellowstone című sorozatot már ott is vetítették. Feltehetően a Spike által korábban elkezdett sorozatok is ide vándorolnak át. A Paramount Network címre átkeresztelődés érdekessége, hogy két évvel ezelőtt Amerikában a ViacomCBS hasonló döntést hozott, azonban ott a zászlóshajónak számító Spike megnevezést vezették ki teljesen, hogy helyet adjanak a Paramount Networknek.

Az RTL Spike csatorna megszűnését Harsányi Gábor, a ViacomCBS Networks International közép-kelet-európai alelnök-vezérigazgatója jelentette be a keddi Big Picture tévés konferencián.

Az RTL Spike mellett az MTV-t, a Nickelodeont, a Paramount Channelt is működtető médiavállalat az RTL Spike helyett TeenNick néven indít új tévécsatornát. Ez, ahogy nevében is utal rá, kifejezetten tiniknek szól és elsősorban vígjátékokat fog sugározni.

A Spike-ot az RTL Magyarországgal együttműködve indították el 2016 decemberében, de a csatorna nem az RTL Magyarországé volt, bár az RTL segítette a reklámidejének értékesítését, illetve hozzájárult az RTL név felhasználásához.

A csatorna megszűnéséhez az vezetett, hogy annak nézettsége kedvezőtlenül alakult az elmúlt időszakban – ismerte el Harsányi Gábor az interneten zajló tévés konferencián.

Az eddig az RTL Spike-on sugárzott népszerűbb műsorokat, mint amilyen például a Cobra is, áthelyezik a Paramount Channelre, amely egyébként felveszi a Paramount Network nevet.

A konferencián az nem hangzott, hogy a változásokra mikor kerül sor pontosan. Elhangzott viszont, hogy a Paramount+ néven indított videótáruk népszerűsége szépen emelkedik, duplájára nőtt rajta a tartalomfogyasztás, és az hamarosan a MindigTV (Antenna Hungária) rendszerén is elérhető lesz.

A Big Picture konferencián tovább bejelentések is elhangzanak, ezekről folyamatosan teszünk közzé híreket.

Positions company to seize global opportunity in streaming through integrated strategy and structure across free and pay platforms

NEW YORK--October 20, 2020--ViacomCBS (Nasdaq: VIAC, VIACA) today announced a new leadership structure for its global ecosystem of free and pay streaming services. The integrated structure, which is effective immediately, will ensure a more holistic approach across both free and pay streaming, more closely align the company’s streaming initiatives globally, and enhance ViacomCBS’s ability to leverage the cross-house franchise and content strength of ViacomCBS to seize the global opportunity in streaming.

Tom Ryan, currently CEO of Pluto TV, will assume the role of President and CEO, ViacomCBS Streaming, overseeing CBS All Access, which will relaunch as Paramount+ in early 2021, and Pluto TV. In this expanded role, he will have global oversight of the company’s streaming strategy. Marc DeBevoise will step down from his role as Chief Digital Officer, ViacomCBS, and President and CEO, ViacomCBS Digital, serving in an advisory capacity for the remainder of 2020 to support a seamless transition and the ongoing transformation of the digital organization.

As President and CEO, ViacomCBS Streaming, Ryan will lead ViacomCBS’s efforts to further accelerate the growth of its free and pay streaming services, building on his success establishing Pluto TV as the #1 free ad-supported streaming TV service in the U.S. and a growing global force. He will now also oversee the transformation of CBS All Access into Paramount+, working closely with the team on programming strategy, platform development and marketing for the enhanced streaming service. In his new capacity, Ryan will partner with the ViacomCBS Content Council to accelerate a franchise-driven content strategy across the company’s streaming ecosystem, formalizing the role of ViacomCBS’s studios as multiplatform content providers. This will maximize the deployment of both IP and talent relationships across ViacomCBS’s streaming and other platforms.

Kelly Day, COO, ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI), will take on an expanded role as President of Streaming, VCNI, overseeing all ex-U.S. digital and streaming platforms in addition to her COO responsibilities. She will work closely with Ryan and David Lynn, President and CEO of VCNI, on ViacomCBS’s international streaming expansion, including the debut of Paramount+ in Australia, Latin America and the Nordics in 2021, as well as the ongoing international rollout of Pluto TV. As previously planned, Pierluigi Gazzolo will step down from his position as President, Streaming and Studios, VCNI, to pursue other interests.

Ryan has served as CEO and Co-Founder of Pluto TV since early 2014. Under his leadership, Pluto TV has become the leading free, ad-supported streaming TV service in the U.S. and rapidly grown its presence in international markets, reaching 33 million monthly active users globally. He also led Pluto TV through its acquisition by Viacom in January 2019. Earlier in his career, Ryan served as CEO of Threadless, an online art community and e-commerce company, from 2008 to 2012. Previously he was Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy and Business Development at EMI Music and was part of the early team at Virgin Mobile USA. He also co-founded Cductive, a pioneering online music service that merged with eMusic in 1999.

Day has served as COO of VCNI since March 2020. Prior to that, she served as President of Viacom Digital Studios (VDS) since November 2017, overseeing Viacom’s digital strategy, including the expansion of Viacom’s original programming across its leading online video and social media platforms. Under her leadership, VDS created and distributed thousands of hours in premium digital content across Viacom’s global entertainment brands, leading the company to reach new heights in audience engagement – becoming #1 for quality social views among media and entertainment properties, based on Tubular ratings. She previously served as the Chief Business Officer and Chief Digital Officer of multi-platform media company Awesomeness, where she was responsible for international expansion, global distribution strategies and revenue across television, mobile and OTT providers, also driving the company’s product and technology investments.

MIAMI & NEW YORK--OCTOBER 20, 2020--ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI), a division of ViacomCBS Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAC), has today confirmed the departure of one of its longest serving executives, Pierluigi Gazzolo, who will step down from his role as President, Streaming and Studios for VCNI at the end of this month to focus on other interests.

During Gazzolo’s tenure as President of Streaming and Studios for VCNI, he successfully established the content proposition, team and go to market strategy for the international launch of Paramount+ and expanded the roadmap for Pluto TV internationally.

VCNI Streaming Leadership

Reporting to David Lynn, President and CEO of VCNI, and working closely with Tom Ryan, President & CEO of ViacomCBS Streaming, Kelly Day, Chief Operating Officer of VCNI, will take over leadership of the division’s streaming business as President of Streaming and COO of VCNI. In this new role, Day will have oversight of the international roll-out of Paramount+, a new premium SVOD service due to launch in 2021 across Australia, Latin America, and the Nordics; as well as the ongoing expansion of Pluto TV, following its successful launch in Latin America.

Regarding Day’s expanded remit, Lynn added, “We are in the fortunate position of going from strength to strength with this transition. With a truly global streaming organization, it’s a pivotal moment in the evolution of our streaming strategy, with the expansion of Paramount+ and Pluto TV, both of which are critical to our future growth. Kelly has an enviable track record of launching and growing streaming businesses and has added a layer of extraordinary digital expertise to our management team in a short space of time. Now, also, working closely with Tom Ryan, I’m confident Kelly will accelerate our transition to becoming a more digitally-led business, while seizing our global streaming opportunity.”

ViacomCBS International Studios Leadership

ViacomCBS Studios International (VIS) will supply original content to the new Paramount+ service in some markets, while continuing to supply scripted, comedy and reality series to VCNI’s free and pay TV networks as well as third party streamers and broadcasters.

Also, reporting to Lynn, JC Acosta, who oversees VCNI’s operations in Latin America and Canada as President, VCN Americas, will take on additional responsibility as President, ViacomCBS International Studios.

Lynn added, “One of our biggest achievements in recent years has been the formation and expansion of VIS, which really couldn’t have happened without Pier’s vision. In the past year, under Pier’s leadership he doubled the global development slate, setting VCNI up for continued global success in the studios arena.”

“Now with JC’s expertise in production and development, coupled with his drive and dedication its incredibly reassuring that JC will take over leadership of VIS,” said Lynn. “Given JC’s intimate understanding of our Studios business, his connections and his knowledge of the international content market, we couldn’t be better positioned for continued growth.”

Gazzolo’s Tenure

Paying tribute to Gazzolo, Lynn said, “While he will hate to be labelled as a veteran, there’s no better word to describe someone who has dedicated so much of his career to our company and who has benefited it so much with his wisdom and experience. He’s a brilliant all-rounder who has played in many positions for our team, but always with the same outstanding results. It’s typical of Pier’s commitment that he’s stayed to oversee a seamless handover to Kelly and JC, even though he’s been signaling his interest in pursuing his own projects for some time. I can’t thank him enough for his contribution to our business over many years. I know everyone at VCNI will join me in genuinely wishing him well in his future endeavors.”

About Pierluigi Gazzolo

Prior to taking up his current role as President, Streaming and Studios in November 2019, Pierluigi Gazzolo was President, Americas for Viacom International Media Networks, which was renamed as VCNI after the ViacomCBS merger in December last year.

Based in Miami, he oversaw a marked expansion of the company’s operations across Spanish-speaking Latin America and Brazil, spearheaded by two key acquisitions – ownership of Argentina’s leading free-to-air broadcaster, Telefe (2016), and a majority stake in Brazilian comedy producer, Porta dos Fundos (2017). Combining Telefe’s studios business and Porta dos Fundos with VIMN’s existing production activities in the region, Gazzolo formed VIS and secured its first sales to both Netflix and Amazon Prime, as well as a host of other deals with broadcasters and streamers across the region. Under his leadership, VIS has expanded its production activities in the UK, Europe, and Asia.

At the same time as leading the company’s operations in Latin America, Gazzolo continued to lead Nickelodeon internationally, giving him oversight of this critical brand in all markets outside the U.S. In this role, he oversaw an increase in international supply to Nickelodeon’s global content pipeline with locally developed shows being remade for global distribution, including Talia in the Kitchen and Every Witch Way.

Previously, Gazzolo was Chief Operating Officer for VIMN (2011 to 2014) and its predecessor MTV Networks International (2009 to 2011), reporting in both roles to Bob Bakish, who is now CEO, ViacomCBS Inc. Before 2009, he held several different roles with the company including serving as President of MTV Networks Latin America.
