The Midnight Society returns with Nickelodeon's all-new Are You Afraid of the Dark? three-part limited series event. Based on the ‘90s kids’ cult classic, and reimagined for a new generation, part one of Are You Afraid of the Dark? debuts on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT), with parts two and three to follow Oct. 18, and Oct. 25, respectively.

Across the three hour-long episodes, Are You Afraid of the Dark? will follow members of an entirely new Midnight Society, who tell a terrifying tale of the Carnival of Doom and its evil ringmaster Mr. Tophat, only to witness the shocking story come frightfully to life. In the just-released trailer, viewers meet the new members of the Midnight Society, get a glimpse at the uncertainty that awaits and prepare for an adventure beyond their wildest nightmares.

In Are You Afraid of the Dark?"Part One: Submitted for Approval", members of the Midnight Society tell a terrifying tale of the Carnival of Doom and its evil ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, only to witness the shocking story come frightfully to life. (#101)


The new members of the Midnight Society are: Rachel, played by Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick); Gavin, played by Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.); Akiko, played by Miya Cech (Rim of the World, Always Be My Maybe); Graham, played by Jeremy Taylor (IT: Chapter Two, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween); and Louise, played by Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl, The Worst Witch). The Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, is played by Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).

Are You Afraid of the Dark? is produced by ACE Entertainment (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Perfect Date) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers. The series is written by BenDavid Grabinski (Skiptrace, Happily) and directed by Dean Israelite (Power Rangers movie, Project Almanac), both of whom are also executive producers. Chris Foss is also an executive producer.

One of the Nickelodeon’s most iconic series from the ‘90s, the original Are You Afraid of the Dark? delivered riveting stories of horror to young audiences, all from a kid’s perspective. Are You Afraid of the Dark? is owned by DHX and was created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel, who are also executive producers on the project.

Join Master Mayhem and his league of monsters as they battle to take over our planet, and the three real kid Heroes that step into the action and compete in three intergalactic elimination challenges for the chance to win awesome prizes, save the planet and become Earth’s Champion!

Each episode features three real-life kid heroes competing in a gauntlet of Intergalactic Battle Alliance challenges to become Earth’s champion and face off against Master Mayhem’s league of monsters in the ultimate “Monster Mashdown.” The unique series combines cutting-edge, real-time CGI and pre-visualization technology.

Massive Monster Mayhem is the ultimate action-packed adventure game show starring the greatest Massive Monster Superstars in the universe versus three real kid heroes! Each episode features Master Mayhem and his team of monsters as they battle to take over our planet. Three real kid heroes step into the action and compete in three challenges for a chance to win awesome prizes, save the planet and become Earth’s Champion!

RoBro – A fitness-themed Buff Bot from the planet Dumbell who was the result of every Buff Bot on the planet melting together into one large Buff Bot following an intense training program. RoBro's Mayhem Level is 8.

Dome Diddy Dome – The robotic Vessel of Vengeance from the planet Randome. He was forged in the fiery furnace of a dying sun. Any object placed in Dome Diddy Dome's dome controls his body. His Mayhem Level is randomized depending on the object in his dome.

Teensy the Tri-Terror-Tops – A Tri-Terror-Tops from the planet Dinorrhea in the Cretaceous Galaxy. Outside of being the ruler of Dinorrhea, he is also the lovable host of everyone's favorite kids' show "Teensy Time." Teensy's Mayhem Level level is 9.

Macho Cheese – A luca libre-themed cheese Appeterrorizer from Moons of Planet Moo Moo who had fermented for millions of years at the center of the Milky Way. When Macho Cheese isn't doing any melting to planets, he chases his dream of being a stand-up comic even though he tells bad jokes. His Mayhem Level is 7.

Major Disappointment – An entitled super celebrity from the planet Cellphie. As the son of the most greatest and feared Monster Superstars of all time where he inherited the strength of his father and the sparkling eyes of his mother, he has not lived up to his potential of conquering the universe where he would often text on his cell phone and order pizza. His Mayhem Level is 6.

Me-Ouch! – A laser-toothed ti-grrrl from the planet Furball who enjoys destroying planets and ruining people's furniture. Me-Ouch! is a quadruple threat which means she is extremely threatening. Her Mayhem Level is 9.

Eye Eye Eye – A warrior queen from the planet Ohno. Her Mayhem Level is 9.

The Megalator – The players must go through a futuristic obstacle course where the two players with the fastest time will go on to the next round.

The Mega Duel – The remaining two players will compete in a duel where the player with the most points will go on to the final round.

The Mash Down – The final round takes place in Mega City where the players must fight the Monster Superstar, break the Prize Buildings, and gather Power Pods to throw into the Mega Laser's Mega Reactor so that it can send the Monster Superstar back to Master Mayhem's world. The Mayor of Mega City would often promote one of Mega City's locations which results in her getting injured by the Monster Superstar. During the fight, there are Boom Buildings in which if they are destroyed, all the prize money will be lost. The players can even call upon their Mega Mech Battle Suit's special abilities to help them in battle. In addition, the players will obtain a Mayhem Pod which will summon a rival Monster Superstar to fight the featured Monster Superstar for a short time. If the hero manages to beat the featured Monster Superstar, break any prize buildings, and load the Mega Reactor with Power Pods before time runs out, the Earth will be saved and the hero will be crowned Earth's Champion and win the prizes. If the featured Monster Superstar wins, Master Mayhem will destroy the world unless the player sacrifices themselves in the Chamber of Doom as part of the agreement Master Mayhem made with the Intergalactic Battle Alliance. Either way, the players will go home a hero.

New Series Follows Adventures of a Multigenerational Mexican-American Family
in Spinoff of the Emmy Award-Winning The Loud House

Eugenio Derbez, Carlos Alazraqui, Carlos PenaVega and Alexa PenaVega Bring the Family
to Life, Along with Melissa Joan Hart and Ken Jeong Lending Voices as Their Neighbors

Canada - A new home in the city holds big adventures, laughs and love around every corner in Nickelodeon’s new original animated series The Casagrandes, premiering Sunday, October 20th, at 9:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on YTV. A spinoff of Nick’s animated hit The Loud House, The Casagrandes tells the story of 11-year-old Ronnie Anne who moves to the city with her mom and older brother to live with their big, loving family, the Casagrandes. Following its premiere, new episodes will air regularly on YTV.

Leading up to the debut of The Casagrandes, YTV will air a super sneak-peek on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. (ET/PT)!

Starring Izabella Alvarez (Westworld) as 11-year-old Ronnie Annie, Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush) as her brother Bobby and Sumalee Montano (Nashville) as her mom Maria, the series showcases the culture, humor, and love that’s part of growing up in a multigenerational Mexican-American family. After moving in with their grandparents in Great Lakes City, Ronnie Anne adjusts to her new life living under one roof and over the family-run mercado (local market), which is a gathering place for everyone in the neighborhood.

Alvarez, PenaVega and Montano bring these characters to life, alongside: Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParents) as Carlos, “Tio;” Roxana Ortega (The League) as Frida, “Tia;” Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids) as Carlota; Jared Kozak (Born this Way) as CJ; Alex Cazares (The Boss Baby: Back in Business) as Carl; Ruben Garfias (East Los High) as Hector, “Abuelo;” and Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street) as Rosa, “Abuela.” Additionally, Eugenio Derbez (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) gives voice to Dr. Santiago, a physician living and working in Peru, who is Ronnie Anne and Bobby’s father.


Ronnie Anne’s new apartment building holds new friends and neighbors, including: Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken) as Stanley Chang; Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) as Becca Chang; Leah Mei Gold (Legion) as 12-year-old Sid Chang, Ronnie Anne’s new friend; and Lexi Sexton as Adelaide Chang, Sid’s 6-year-old little sister.

In the first episode, “Going Overboard,” Ronnie Anne finds out her Tio Carlos was a famous skateboarder and she begs him to teach her some new moves. Then, in “Walk Don’t Run,” Ronnie Anne and Sid start a dog-walking business to save up for a new skateboard in a plan that quickly gets out of hand.

The Casagrandestheme song is performed by pop star Ally Brooke.

The Casagrande family was first introduced in the The Loud House special, “The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos,” which premiered May 2017 and ranks as the highest-rated premiere for the series in Live+7 with both K2-11 (6.6/1.8M) and K6-11 (8.1/1.3M).

The Casagrandes will make its world premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday, October 14, at 1:30 p.m. (ET/PT).


The Casagrandes is produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, Calif. The series is executive produced by Michael Rubiner (The Loud House), with Karen Malach (The Loud House) serving as producer, Alan Foreman as supervising producer and Miguel Puga as supervising director. Award-winning cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz (Coco) serves as consulting producer and cultural consultant.
