MOHAMED HAMAKI, DYLER AND MOROCCAN BOYBAND FNAIRE WITH NORA FATEHI ALSO JOIN PERFORMER LINE-UP OF THE YEAR’S BIGGEST PARTY FOR KIDS

The show will premier in MENA on September 24th at 17:00 UAE/16:00 KSA on Nickelodeon on OSN

Abu Dhabi, September 9th – Nickelodeon and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) are pleased to today announce their latest addition for the lineup of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi – British singer, songwriter and YouTuber Conor Maynard, who is now confirmed to perform at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre for the year’s biggest party for kids.

Maynard first came to prominence when his debut album ‘Contrast’ went straight to #1. It featured numerous hit singles including ‘Can’t Say No’ and ‘Vegas Girl’. He followed that with ‘Covers’, a collection of his takes on modern classics from the likes of Drake, Zayn and Shawn Mendes. With five Top 10 singles and a #1 album to his credit plus millions of followers at social media, Maynard is one of British music’s biggest success stories. The stats speak for themselves: over 10 million monthly listeners on streaming services and over 2 billion career streams to date. He even took his talents to Broadway, to star as Charlie Price in the Tony Award-winning musical ‘Kinky Boots’ – following in the footsteps of Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie and Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters.

“I am so excited to be performing at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi, it’s always such a fun show! Here’s hoping I’m not going to get slimed!” said Maynard.

Considered one of the most prominent pop singers in the Arab world, Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki started his career back in 1997, with a series of singles in albums “Lekaa El Nogoum”, “Saaedi in the American University”, and “Hammaam in Amsterdam”. Since then, Hamaki has gained a lot of attention, success and recognition internationally: in 2007 he won a “Platinum Award” from “EMI” for achieving the highest sales in the Middle East in 2006 with his album “Kheles El Kalam”, and in 2010 he won “Best Arabian Act” at the “MTV EMAs”.

“I can’t wait to perform at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi 2019,” said Hamaki “Joining such a great line-up of international and local stars is a honour and pleasure for me. See you on September 20th!”


Dyler

Saudi Arabian singer and social media sensation Dyler announced he will perform at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi 2019 on his Instagram account on Friday. He said to his fans that he “can’t wait to party” with them at the ADNEC on Sept 20th, promising “It’s going to be awesome.”

Dyler launched his YouTube career when he was only 12. His first hit “Samoly” reached 69 Million views on Youtube. By the age of 14, he had paid off his education and now donates 50% of his income to a cancer charity.

Moroccan band Fnaire have been hitting the stage since 2001: from the very beginning of their career, the trio enjoyed extraordinary success, reaching the top of charts in Morocco and across the whole Middle East. They collaborated with Nora Fatehi on the Arabic version of the Indian song “Dilbar,” the soundtrack from John Abraham’s “Satyameva Jayate” movie.

For the first time in the market, the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi 2019 will be recorded on September 20th at ADNEC and will air on Nickelodeon on OSN in KSA, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Jordan,
Bahrain on September 24th at 17:00 UAE/16:00 KSA, and later premiere globally on Nickelodeon channels in the US, UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, India, China, Philippines and Pakistan.

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Abu Dhabi 2019 is part of Abu Dhabi Family Week, a 10-day programme of fun-packed, educational events dedicated to children’s and family entertainment organised by DCT Abu Dhabi. Additional activities include the brand new The World of Nickelodeon, a three-day Nickelodeon activation taking place from 19th to 21st of September at ADNEC.

The World of Nickelodeon will be the place to go for families and kids, where they can meet their favourite Nickelodeon characters and experience the real world of Nickelodeon in person. The World of Nickelodeon will feature a variety of play areas like a PAW Patrol branded area, PAW Patrol skills circuit, the Slime Zone, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles VR experience and pizzeria, SpongeBob museum, SpongeBob mini golf, SpongeBob arcades and Shimmer and Shine activities. Children can also interact with all their favourite Nickelodeon characters like Dora, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, PAW Patrol’s Chase and Marshall, and SpongeBob, as well as attend live entertainment shows and musical performances. School is in Session at the Berlin School of Arts When 'Spotlight' Returns for Season 4, Premiering Sunday 15th September 2019 on Nickelodeon Germany, Austria and Switzerland

The summer holidays are once again drawing to a close, and a new school year is about to commence at the Berlin School of Arts, a school where regular subjects including maths, German and English, as well as artistic subjects such as singing, dancing and acting are on the curriculum, when Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland), Austria (Österreich) and Switzerland's (Schweiz) hugely popular locally produced cross-media daily TV series Spotlight returns for a fourth season on Sunday 15th September 2019, bringing with it new and familiar faces!


Joining the cast for Spotlight season four are new students Mads (Mike Leon Lichtenberg), Nele (Alexandra Herbst) and Sam (Jerome Weinert).

In Spotlight season four, numerous secrets ensure a true jumble of emotions: Rocco (Malcom Meckert) does not dare to stand by his feelings for Greta (Chiara Tews); with the help of Milan (Simon Zeller), new classmate Nele (Alexandra Herbst) tries to gain the self-confidence they need to shine in dance lessons; and a secretive competitor tries to grab Prank King Tim's (Moritz Schirdewahn) crown. Meanwhile, Emily (Nevena Schöneberg) launches the online channel "Insider" in which she becomes a rabid reporter to fight for student rights.

Season four will also see the Berlin School of Arts students travel to a completely new location when they head on vacation to an ultra-cool Creative Camp on the lake, where casual rapper Mads (Mike Leon Lichtenberg), new to the school, falls head over heels in Lotte (Jesina Amweg), and emotions run high for their classmates! The trip will also see crazy pranks and very special performances. The internationally successful twins Marcus & Martinus will be among the very special guest stars.

Meet the New Students

Enrolling at the Berlin School of Arts in season four are:

- Cool rapper Mads wants to become a successful musician, and, with his own tracks a star - but without giving up the credibility. He is played by Mike Leon Lichtenberg, a musician in real life who has already amassed more than 100,000 fans on his Instagram profile @mikeleon_.

- The shy Nele wants to prevail in her dream of dancing at the Berlin School of Arts and must fight for it. She is portrayed by newcomer Alexandra Herbst.

For all those who can't get enough of the series, the official "Nickelodeon’s Spotlight" magazine will be published for the first time on Wednesday 18th September 2019. In cooperation with Egmont Ehapa Media, "Nickelodeon’s Spotlight" magazine will bring fans lots of exclusive information and pictures from the set, as well as take a look behind the scenes and bring fans exclusive interviews directly from the set as well as exciting background information. The publication is rounded off with styling and vlogger tips, as well as tricky puzzles and funny tests. Each issue, available every six weeks, will also come with free gifts, such as autograph cards or accessories for mobile phones styled after the series. The magazine will begin with 60,000 copies printed. Issue #1 costs 3.99 euros.

A extensive Spotlight consumer products range also launches at the drugstore chain Müller just in time for the start of the new season. Backpacks, key rings, pens, blocks and pencil cases are just a few of the new products inspired by the series that fans can take home.

Also playing a key role in the new season of Spotlight are 13 new songs, which the talented cast will perform. The pieces, like the new signature song "Gutes Gefühl" ("Feel Good"), were written and produced by rapper and musician Fargo ("Nick, wenn du") especially for Spotlight.

Spotlight season four will launch with double episodes on Sunday 15th September 2019, airing at 19:50 and 20:00 Uhr on Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) and at 19:55 and 20:05 Uhr on Nickelodeon Austria (Österreich) and Nickelodeon Switzerland (Schweiz). Following launch, new episodes will air everyday at 19:50 Uhr on Nickelodeon Deutschland and at 19:55 Uhr on Nickelodeon Österreich and Nickelodeon Schweiz. Each episode will also air on nick.de/spotlight.

Spotlight season four will feature 93 episodes and will be once again produced by UFA Serial Drama. Production on the fourth season of Spotlightcommenced in July 2019.

Like previous seasons, Spotlight season four will extend to digital, allowing fans to access further Spotlight material from their favourite characters on social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram (@SpotlightDeutsch) and TikTok.

On Spotlight season four, Ulrike Lehmann (Nickelodeon) serves as Editor, Helga Löbel (UFA SERIAL DRAMA) serves as Producer, along with Claudia Danne, and Jasmin Schelling serves as Junior Producer.

September steht bei Spotlight wieder täglich um 19:50 Uhr Singen, Tanzen und Schauspielen auf dem Stundenplan. Nickelodeon teilt vorab erste Eindrücke von den brandneuen Folgen, den Gaststars und einen neuen Trailer.

Viele prominente Gesichter besuchen dieses Jahr die Berlin School of Arts. Die Spotlight-Darsteller bekommen in diesem Schuljahr Unterstützung u.a. von Max Giesinger, Stefanie Heinzmann, Iggi Kelly, Daniel Donskoy, Nikeata Thompson, Selina Mour, Wolfgang Bahro und TikTok-Star Dalia.

Egmont Ehapa startet am 18. September ein neues Print-Magazin für 9- bis 14-Jährige. In "Spotlight" dreht sich alles um die gleichnamige TV-Serie, die seit 2016 bei nickelodeon läuft und drei Tage vor Magazin-Start in ihre vierte Staffel geht.

Egmont Ehapa kündigt die neue Zeitschrift als Fan-Magazin an, das “einen Blick hinter die Kulissen” wirft, “exklusive Interviews direkt vom Set sowie spannende Hintergrundinfos” liefert. “Das Konzept wird durch Styling- und Vlogger-Tipps sowie knifflige Rätselseiten und lustige Tests abgerundet.” Außerdem – wie bei Kinder-Zeitschriften üblich – liegen dem Heft Gimmicks bei: “Darunter beispielsweise exklusive Autogrammkarten oder Accessoires fürs Handy im Spotlight-Style”.

CLARKE COUNTY, Miss. The Boys and Girls Club of East Mississippi hosted a big outdoors event Saturday, September 7, 2019.


Hundreds of families gathered in Highland Park for the 10th Annual Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play. It's an event that is designed to encourage children and parents to turn off the television and head outdoors to play. Thousands of people came out to fellowship and to have fun with all the activities including face painting, bounce houses, water slides and lots more.

"We like to bring a positive light and a shining like on this Highland Park. We want to show that everybody can come together and have a great time without any violence, fighting, or shooting. People come out to fellow and have a good time," Boys and Girls Club director of operation Jermaine Harris told WTOK.


Organizers with the event say there is an underlying cause for the day of play, that being families and kids need to be more active.

Two rollercoasters we’ve already heard about -- and two we haven’t -- were revealed at a recent gathering of roller coaster enthusiasts and industry insiders. The thrill rides are in the works inside the massive theme park in the under-construction American Dream mega-mall in Bergen County, New Jersey.


The American Coaster Enthusiasts held an annual “EastCoaster” gathering at Hershey Park this past weekend where representatives from Nickelodeon Universe unveiled four roller coasters that will be part of the indoor theme park at the American Dream, Elizabeth Ringas, communications coordinator for ACE said.

Triple Five, the developer of the American Dream, announced more than a year ago that two record-setting roller coasters would be coming to the site. But their themes and character-associations were not known until this ACE announcement.


Roller coaster enthusiasts rejoiced. Here’s what ACE has shared of the news:

The roller coaster with the record-setting steepness will be called the TMNT Shellraiser (TMNT = Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle). It’s from German-based Gerstlauer, and the model is referred to as the “Eurofighter.” It will hold the record as the steepest plunge on a rollercoaster in the world.

The ride will pause at the top of a 122-foot drop, giving riders a glimpse of New York City - the home of the Turtles - across the Hudson River!

The other record-setter we’ve been hearing about has now been identified as “The Shredder” -- likely named after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle antagonist, Shredder. It is also a Gerstlauer model and it will hold the record for being the tallest and longest free-spinning roller coaster.


Two previously unmentioned roller coasters were also unveiled: Sandy’s Blasting Bronco, inspired SpongeBob SquarePants’ dive suit-wearing friend, Sandy Cheeks, and Slime Streak, inspired by Nickelodeon's famous slime!


The final new ride unveiled is called Slime Streak. It’s manufactured by Kansas-based Chance Rides and is less heart-pounding and more family-oriented than the record-setting roller coasters planned for American Dream.



Representatives for American Dream and Nickelodeon Universe did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The 3 million-square-foot American Dream mega-mall is expected to open this spring. About 55 percent of it will be devoted to entertainment, including the 8-acre indoor Nickelodeon Universe amusement park. The rest will be retail.

American Dream has begun testing its amusement rides, Phil Murphy says

American Dream has begun testing its amusement park rides — a telltale sign that the retail and entertainment extravaganza will finally open this year, after nearly 15 years of delays, according to Gov. Phil Murphy.

In an interview earlier this week with 1010 WINS radio, Murphy said there are visible signs the structure is inching closer to completion: workers have begun testing amusement park rides and encasing the mall's indoor water park, and retailers' signs have gone up.

"It’s going to happen," Murphy said. "I don’t see any scenario where it doesn’t happen, because that’s an important point. For many years, we couldn’t answer that question."

Murphy made the assertions in a Facebook Live interview with 1010 WINS reporter Glenn Shuck on Wednesday.

An American Dream spokesperson declined comment on Friday afternoon.

Murphy is often asked about American Dream. Last year, officials promised a 2019 opening by March or April — and Murphy later hinted the opening would be "closer to June." Meanwhile, officials with the development have largely stayed mum, and routinely decline to comment on Murphy's remarks.

Last month, however, American Dream officials broke their silence and announced a late summer opening — which many saw as yet another delay.

Triple Five Group, the project's developer, last month also announced it hired Ken Downing, Neiman Marcus' longtime fashion director, as the company's chief creative officer, whose immediate focus will be on American Dream's final touches.

Downing's appointment, like the testing of its rides, signaled that the project may be in its final preparation before its long-awaited opening.

Once open, American Dream will feature 3 million square feet of retail, dining and entertainment — including more than 450 stores and restaurants, an amusement park, an indoor ski slope, an indoor ice-skating rink and an indoor water park. Officials estimate that the project will be 45 percent retail and 55 percent entertainment.

The project was first proposed in 2002 as Xanadu, a mega-mall envisioned by its original developer, Mills Corp. The project had languished alongside the New Jersey Turnpike since then. Over the past year, however, construction has intensified.

"I don’t have insight" into American Dream's opening date, Murphy told Shuck. "But I do know this – for instance, they are testing the amusement rides and that’s probably a good sign. They’re encasing, as we speak, the water park. They’re starting to see some of the retailers put their name up – Saks Fifth Avenue’s name is now up on the side of the building."

Murphy projected there are an estimated 2,000 workers at the site daily. Once the project is up and running, there will thousands of people employed by American Dream, he said.

Almost two weeks later, the developer admitted the opening is actually delayed until late summer.

In the Wednesday interview, Schuck said that people at the Bergen County Executive’s Office wanted him to ask the governor about American Dream.

“I know this has been in the pipeline,” said Schuck, a Bergen County resident. “There have been a lot of jokes about American Dream.”

The two then talked about how the project had been around since James McGreevy’s administration.

“I don’t see any scenario where it doesn’t happen. So that’s an important point,” Murphy said. “Because there were many years where we couldn’t answer that question.”

And, while he said he doesn’t have information on the late summer opening date, "they are testing the amusement rides. And that’s probably a good sign.”

“They’re encasing, as we speak, the waterpark,” Murphy continued. “You’re starting to see some of the retailers put their names up. Saks Fifth Avenue’s name is now up on the side of the building.”

Murphy said he thinks there are about 2,000 workers at the site daily.

Citing “something like $1.2 billion of payroll eventually for New Jersey” and “probably $140-something million in taxes,” the governor praised the project, though he admitted it’s “slower than probably any of us would’ve wanted.”

NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NY) - The 'American Dream' mega-mall will soon become a reality.

After more than 15 years of starts and stops, the mall and entertainment space at the Meadowlands formerly known as Xanadu is scheduled to open to the public in October.

Good Day New York's Rosanna Scotto got an exclusive tour inside the new American Dream with owner Don Ghermezian.

The Nickelodeon amusement park and Dreamworks water park are all taking shape along with hundreds of retail stores and dozens of other experiences.

Sixteen years and several owners after Xanadu was first conceived, what makes this time different?

"We just took a different approach. We looked at it: where is the world headed? Where does retail need to be? What lacks in this market place?" said Ghermezian.

Not only can you experience a year-round summer at the indoor water park, but you can enjoy winter fun, 365 days a year on the ice rink or the ski slope. They will even make it snow down on skiers using snowmaking equipment.

There will also be 23 full-service restaurants, a food court, Kosher food hall, and about 300 stores and entertainment venues.

Want To Work At American Dream's Theme Parks? They're Hiring

Lifeguards, ride operators, and security offers are needed for the $5 billion retail and entertainment destination set to open Oct. 25.

American Dream is hosting a job fair this month for positions at its Nickelodeon and DreamWorks theme parks. [...]

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ —American Dream is looking to fill positions at its DreamWorks water park and Nickelodeon Universe theme park.

American Dream is hosting two hiring fairs on July 24 from 2 to 7 p.m. and July 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bergen County Community College's Meadowlands Campus at 1280 Wall St. West in Lyndhurst.

American Dream also needs to fill positions on its parking, traffic, and engineering teams.

The following positions are available for the DreamWorks water park and Nickelodeon Universe theme park:

Lifeguards
Ride and ropes course operators
Guest service representatives
Ride maintenance supervisors and technicians
Admissions representatives, cashiers
Supervisors and trainers are also available at the DreamWorks water park.

Engineering and maintenance personnel are also needed, including HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, custodians, and waste and recycling workers.

The security department needs to hire patrol, bike, dispatch, and youth liaison officers. Parking attendants and parking and traffic maintenance technicians are also needed.

Those positions are just some 1,200 full- and part-time positions that American Dream needs to fill before its Oct. 25 opening, said Dana McHugh, an American Dream spokesperson. Wages for the positions will be "competitive," she said.

American Dream will host other hiring events in Bergen County and surrounding area.

American Dream is forecast to support 16,000 jobs and generate $1.2 billion in income, Gov. Phil Murphy previously said.

The DreamWorks water park will be the largest indoor water park in North America. The 8-acre park will have 15 wet and wild attractions from ProSlide, creator of some of the world's largest and most popular water rides.

The Nickelodeon Universe amusement park will be located next to the water park. It will feature the Spinning Coaster, the tallest and longest free-spinning coaster in the world, and the Euro-Fighter, among other attractions.

The DreamWorks water park will have "Shrek" and "How To Train Your Dragon" attractions.

American Dream will open Oct. 25 after years of delays. Previously, there was some question if the DreamWorks water park would open with the rest of American Dream.

American Dream was originally slated to open in 2017, but Triple Five pushed back the completion date because it had difficulty securing the financing. It worked with Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan to secure $1.6 billion in construction financing. Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan also sold $1.1 billion in tax-exempt bonds for the project.

American Dream will be hosting a job fair next week, and it will be the first of many leading up to the mega entertainment and retail center's long-anticipated opening this fall.

The company's first job fair will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. at Bergen Community College's Meadowlands campus at 1280 Wall Street West in Lyndhurst. The two-day event will continue July 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The job fair will be run on a walk-in basis, officials said. Positions range from part-time to full-time for employees with various levels of experience. Although American Dream won't open until fall, officials expect to begin training and pre-opening programs in August for those hired.

American Dream officials said they plan to hire about 1,200 employees leading up to the center's Oct. 25 opening. They also plan to host additional hiring events in Bergen County and surrounding counties. Information about those events will be announced in the future.

All jobs being offered at the job fair will be strictly for American Dream roles, many of which are already posted online. Retailers, which manage their own employees, have also quietly begun their own hiring.



The project's completion is expected to bolster job creation in the Meadowlands region. Triple Five last year estimated that American Dream would generate about 16,200 jobs at the complex, and an additional 7,000 jobs in surrounding towns. Those jobs would generate $1.2 billion in wages, the company has said.

The 3 million-square-foot center will be the first of its kind in the region. Officials have estimated the project will be 45 percent retail and 55 percent entertainment, a model that retail experts have applauded.

Once open, the center will feature hundreds of stores and eateries and more than 15 entertainment options, including an indoor amusement park and indoor water park; North America’s first indoor snow sports center; an NHL‐size ice rink and skating and hockey facility; an 18‐hole mini golf; an aquarium; a movie theater, and a performing arts center.

Gerstlauer gmBH Amusement Rides: German Company Debuts New Rides at Nickelodeon Theme Park

Gerstlauer gmBH Amusement Rides is ready to thrill visitors to the American Dream mega-mall scheduled to open in late summer 2019. The theme park, located in the mall’s Meadowlands, New Jersey location, will be showcasing two new rides from Gerstlauer gmBH Amusement Rides. The company, based in Munsterhausen, Germany is known for its coasters, and the two created for Nickelodeon make a strong addition to a group of four coasters. There are 23 other rides as well at the new mall-based theme park. Gerstlauer gmBH is also behind a different version of the ride, known as the Fairly Odd Coaster that’s located at Minnesota’s Mall of America.

The two coasters at the theme park are connected: the Euro-Fighter coaster breaks the record for the steepest drop on a roller coaster while the spinning coaster holds the title for the world’s tallest and longest free-spinning coaster.
The Shredder is uniquely positioned to become a top coaster-fan favorite as the longest spinning roller coaster in the world. It runs 1,322 feet in length. According to the managing director of Gerstlauer, Siegfied Gerstlauer “We have worked on many projects, but this will be unlike anything we have ever designed. Visitors to Nickelodeon Universe at American Dream are in for a great ride.” The Shredder will hold the title for the world’s longest and tallest free spinning roller coaster.

For the steepest plunge on a roller coaster worldwide, Gerstlauer will be using the company’s Euro-Fighter. The ride will hold the record for offering the steepest plunge in North America, providing a vast first drop of 97 degrees, a height which is itself an innovation from Gerstlauer.

For even more excitement, the ride will pause at the top of a 122-foot drop, providing riders an expansive glimpse of New York City, just across the Hudson River.

The unbelievable drop just starts out the ride. Gerstlauer describes the roller coaster experience it offers as allowing unlimited possibilities for layout and customization within an existing terrain or footprint – such as inside a mega mall. It’s described by the company as a “combined dark ride and roller coaster, launched with LSM or compact on a base frame.”

The cars themselves carry eight passengers and can master virtually any ride configuration from a loop to an inline loop, overbanked curve, heart-line roll, rollover-loop, zero-G roll, dive loop, or cobra roll among others.

It’s designed for the ultimate in safety according to Gerstlauer, with comfortable shoulder restraints, that include what is described as “redundant, hydraulic cylinders that safely keep the passengers in the ergonomic bucket seats” throughout the ride. The ride includes sturdy, durable magnetic brakes for the utmost in “comfortable deceleration before they enter the station.” The company says the ride is also energy efficient due to using individual cars and low-energy consumption drive concepts. The ride is available with either foundations or a base frame.

At American Dream, The Shredder is themed and named after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ nemesis, Shredder. The unique coaster will hold the record for being both the tallest and longest free-spinning roller coaster. According to Gerstlauer, a spinning coaster combines roller coaster speed with a carousel ride experience. Coaster cars spin freely and react to acceleration, creating an individually unique experience for each rider. The company’s safety reputation is high, and with spinning coaster rides, that means passengers are held safely in their seats by lap restraints.

Along with these combined coasters, Gerstlauer offers eight other coaster styles in its manufacturing and design quiver as well, including the soap-box styled, 22-meter Kiddy Racer to give the littlest riders a safe and age appropriate thrill; and a six-passenger Launch Coaster that provides a rapid acceleration of 1.2 Gs in 1 to 3 seconds for its 6-passenger cars, and smooth acceleration due to state of the art linear synchronous motors. The company offers bobsled racers, family coasters, and wooden coasters, too.

Aside from roller coasters, Gerstlauer also makes a Giant Wheel, designed to be either stationary or transportable. The iconic classic ride offers brilliant LED illumination with multiple color patterns. It can be customized to offer four columns instead of eight. Gondolas are V-shaped and feature hanging-arms for the best possible rider views. The closed design makes the ride family friendly, and 360 degree windows provide the view. The company also stresses the ride’s energy efficiency, using electric motors that are also quiet.

Flat rides and transportation systems round out the family of rides that the company provides. Among the flat rides offered is the Sky Roller, which offers an individual interactive ride in open seats, with wing control on the side. It allows riders to choose their type of ride – a scenic view, or a thrill ride. Gerstlauer received the Bavarian State Prize for the ride at the 2018 International Trade Fair for craft trades.

The waltz ride offers a circular track in free-rotating gondolas; the Space:Walk is a moving platform controlled by weight shift.

The company has rides located throughout North America, including Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Legoland in Carlsbad, Calif. The company also has rides in Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and Africa.

Nearly two decades since it was first floated as a concept, workers are putting the finishing touches on the entertainment portion of American Dream, the mammoth retail and amusement center scheduled to open in the heart of East Rutherford in six weeks.

Ahead of its long-anticipated grand opening on Oct. 25, officialsinvited a small team from (201) Magazine — an affiliate of NorthJersey.com, The Record and the USA TODAY NETWORK New Jersey — inside the project for a fashion photoshoot in August. As part of the magazine's welcome, the team stepped past American Dream's guarded walls and into the sleek, developing world the public will soon know firsthand.

Behind the scenes photos and videos from the magazine's photoshoot provide a glimpse of how the 3-million-square-foot space is shaping up. The team was invited inside the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and DreamWorks Water Park, the Ice Rink, and a section of the center's retail end. Here's what we learned.

Active construction

The American Dream project is very much an active construction site. Workers in neon yellow vests and white hard hats were scattered across the site, and the sounds of drilling and beeping machines pierced the air. Some workers operated machinery, while others plastered floors or sat atop electric scissor lifts between the American Dream's many levels. There were cables, multiple levels of scaffolding, makeshift work stations, wooden planks and construction-grade floor polishers. From one of the many roller coaster rides inside the project hung an American flag.

Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and DreamWorks Water Park

American Dream's indoor theme and water park will sprawl across 16 acres — two of the main attractions inside the massive project. Both parks have record-breaking attractions: the theme park has three world-record-breaking coasters, and the indoor water park will be home to the world's largest indoor wave pool, the tallest indoor body slide and more. This portion of American Dream is slated to open on Oct. 25, and shows significant progress.

The theme park will feature more than 20 rides, according to American Dream's website. During last month's shoot, many attractions looked nearly or completely finished. There was a giant orange blimp with the "Nickelodeon" logo and (fake) green slime dripping off; a blue train that looks as though it can take you for a sky ride across the park; a tiny Ferris wheel and a carousel. Coasters have empty carts sitting idle on the tracks.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Aug. 21, 2019 -- Universal Brand Development (Universal), the LEGO Group and Nickelodeon have announced the all-new, animated mini-series, LEGO® Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar, will debut Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon in the U.S. The 13-episode CG-animated mini-series, taking place before the events of 2015's blockbuster Jurassic World film, will continue to premiere Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Set in 2012, newly hired animal behaviourist, Owen Grady, and Assistant Manager of Park Operations, Claire Dearing (characters played in the films by Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) and Bryce Dallas Howard, respectively, though both are voiced by different actors for this animated series) team up on Isla Nublar to deal with everything the Jurassic World park throws their way, including runaway dinosaurs, ongoing construction to expand the park, throngs of tourists, unpredictable tropical weather and an impulsive boss!


In LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar, there's also a mysterious saboteur with surprising ties to the park's past who is on a quest to find a legendary treasure and destroy Jurassic World forever. What could possibly go wrong? Well…everything.

A prequel to the brand-new mini-series, LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit Part 1 and Part 2, will be available on the Nick App and VOD beginning Sunday, Aug. 25. In The Secret Exhibit, Simon Masrani has an idea for a new attraction that is guaranteed to keep Jurassic World at the forefront of theme park entertainment, but in order for it to succeed, he needs his right-hand can-do problem solver, Claire Dearing, and newcomer Owen Grady, to get a trio of dinosaurs across the park to the new, super-secret exhibit. Unfortunately, delivering the dinosaurs to the new attraction is not as easy as they thought! LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit is currently airing on Nickelodeon, with Part 2 premiering Saturday, August 24 at 11:30 a.m. (ET/PT).

Beginning, Sunday Aug. 25, a sneak peek episode, "Mission Critical," will be available for fans to watch on the Nick App, Nick On Demand and Nickelodeon's YouTube channel.

The set of 16 Nick Jr. models go into production shortly, featuring a host of Nick Jr.’s most popular properties including Top Wing, Shimmer & Shine, Blaze and the Monster Machines alongside Ryder with the PAW Patrol pups.

The Nick Jr. characters - presented and built by BRICKLIVE – will take in the region of 3,000 hours to build by a team of highly skilled Bright Bricks builders using over 500,000 toy bricks. The touring exhibit will also have interactive features including a sit-on Magic Carpet selfie zone from Shimmer and Shine, plus a walkin 160,000 brick selfie zone of Blaze from Blaze and the Monster Machines. The models will form an engaging trail to create a memorable and fun experience for all visitors and families.

BRICKLIVE touring shows have enjoyed huge success with the UK’s favourite visitor attractions over the last six months. Some highlights from 2019 so far include the SAFARI tour which enjoyed early summer in Whipsnade Zoo, Marwell Zoo launched BRICKOSAURS in April including an 8m Tyrannosaurus Rex and Blackburn BID launched the PAW Patrol models in Blackburn Town Centre in August. BRICKLIVE touring shows are the perfect addition to any visitor attraction and come in many shapes and sizes. They’ve been popping up in zoos, visitor attractions, shopping malls and town centres to drive footfall and visitor numbers with engaging trails of highly detailed brick models.

Demand for the new PAW Patrol touring models has been overwhelming since July with five bookings for 2019 and 2020 already confirmed so Nickelodeon and BRICKLIVE have brought forward the design and build schedule for the amazing new Nick Jr. models.
