Meet The Stars Of Nickelodeon's "School Of Rock"

Get ready to rock!

Nickelodeon and Paramount Television are gearing up for their brand-new live action musical comedy series "School of Rock", which will be based off the hit 2003 movie of the same name starring Jack Black, and to celebrate, MTV News has unveiled a fantastic first look at the entire cast of Nick and Paramount's all-new show!


Taking on the role of Dewey, Jack's character in the movie, is the tall blonde (second from left) Tony Cavalero. He plays a substitute teacher who uses rock music to inspire his kids and create the band School of Rock!

Next to Tony, holding the electric guitar, is Lance Lim, who plays Zach. The boy on the right manning the keys is Aidan Miner, who plays Lawrence.

The girls in the picture are Breanna Yde ("Haunted Hathaways"), who plays Tomika the fun-loving, tomboy bass player, and her bestie Summer, who is played by Jade Pettyjohn. For those that remember the movie, Summer, then played by a young Miranda Cosgrove ("Drake & Josh", "iCarly"),was the manager of the band.

Finally, there's Freddy, the guy on the drums, who is played by Ricardo Hurtado. He's the bad boy of the band who Summer has a major crush on him!

The 13-episode series is currently in production and is set to premiere on Nickelodeon USA during the networks Fall 2015 programming season!

Check out Nickelodeon's aweslime new feature for the 2015 Kids Choice Awards!

Just Jared Jr. has exclusively revealed The Human Slime Car Wash, which will send ONE lucky Nickelodeon cast through it with help from fans during the live show!


Fans will get the chance to vote during the live show on which cast — "The Thundermans", "Bella and the Bulldogs" or "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn"— they want to see ride through the car wash of slime in a convertible. The car wash will be complete with conveyer, spinning brushes, swinging flaps, and spraying nozzles!


Voting will be open at the beginning of the show and the winning cast will be revealed close to the end.

While they're not up for the Car Wash honor, the stars of "Henry Danger" paid a visit to patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon (25th March 2015).


Jace Norman, Sean Ryan Fox, Cooper Barnes and Riele Downs stopped by the hospital for a very special pre-KCAs event and snapped photos with patients, autographed posters and t-shirts. Patients were also treated to a special screening of Nickelodeon's brand-new original animated series "Harvey Beaks"!

Singer Mandy Capristo Wins Lieblingsstar: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2015 Award

Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) has announced the exciting Nickelodeon International news in the following press release, from Nick Germany's "Nick Pressecenter", that NickHeads in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have voted Mandy Capristo as the winner of the „Lieblingsstar: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz“ ("Favorite Star: Germany, Austria, Switzerland") Kids' Choice Awards 2015 award!


The singer, who has also received Nickelodeon's highest honour, a sliming, under Nickelodeon's "KCA Countdown" special Slime Shower, beat stiff competition from Joko und Klaas, Mandy Capristo, Mario Götze and "Revolverheld" to win the honour!

Mandy will travel to Los Angeles to accept her coveted orange Blimp award.

Also travelling to LA are YouTube stars Dagi Bee and Sami Slimani. Both are nominated in the "Lieblings-Videoblogger: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz" ("Favorite Videoblogger: Germany, Austria, Switzerland") KCA 2015 category. They will fight until the very end in a head-to-head race to win a Nickelodeon Blimp at the Kids' Choice Awards! The winner will be announced during the German premiere of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2015!

Fans can tune-in to Nick for the German premiere of the Nickelodeon 2015 Kids' Choice Awards, Nickelodeon's 28th Annual Kids' Choice Awards, the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards, hosted by the multi-talented singer/songwriter and actor Nick Jonas, on Sunday 29th March 2015 at 6:30pm, less than 24 hours after the live US show, which will take place in Los Angeles' legendary 'Fabulous' Forum for the first-time ever on Saturday 28th March 2015!

by Nicole Mormann "You got to take it like a man," said Jay Schmalholz, Nickelodeon's senior vp live event television and executive producer of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2015, when asked what first-timers to being slimed should do. "You just got to stand there, open arms, and embrace it." So that's what I did. Standing on the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards stand at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., I spread my feet wide, grasped the hand of the little girl next to me, and took it like a man. So that's what I did. From four abyss-like holes surrounding the circumference of the main stage shot bursts of slime on the count of one. The landing stuck, falling heavy and gooey on our heads and down our backs as a young girl, her two friends and I squeezed each other's hands. The moment marked our initiation into sliming, and admittedly the fulfillment of my childhood dream, but the time for slime had only just begun for crew members. Poised to be the biggest and slimiest Kids' Choice Awards yet, this year's event will feature slime-dropping drones, a slime car wash and a tunnel of slime, which the winners will walk through on their way to the stage as streams of slime dance in a synchronized movement overhead. The Forum, said to be the show's largest venue thus far, will house the ceremony on Saturday, March 28, airing live at 8 p.m. ET (tape-delayed in the West Coast) on Nickelodeon. Nick Jonas is hosting the event, and performers include Five Seconds of Summer and Iggy Azalea. "You never know what you're going to get with this show, or who's going to get slimed," Schmalholz said in discussing the surprise elements awaiting the audience. With everything green and gelatinous still coming into place for Saturday, Schmalholz is already brainstorming slime-related ideas for next year's event. "If I had my way, I would bring the Bellagio fountains to life," said Schmalholz. "Still in development though." Though the future and formula of slime remain secret, one thing is certain: a great deal of sliming will be had at this year's Kids Choice Awards. As for me, I think I'll wait until the green dye washes out of my clothes and hair before stepping up to the slime cannons again. Or at least until the kid, or should I say "man,' in me decides a second helping is in order. To celebrate Nickelodeon USA starting to premiere and show the networks brand-new original comedy series "Make It Pop" weekdays at 7:00pm (ET/PT) from Monday 6th April 2015 in a special one-month event, Nick USA has premiered the music video for "Turn Up The Spotlightz", a song which will feature in a upcoming episode of "Make It Pop", on the networks official YouTube channel, which you can watch in the online streaming video clips below!:

Meet Sun Hi, Jodi and Corki - three very different girls living in one shared room. Don’t miss the premiere of Make It Pop, premiering April 6 at 7/6c on Nickelodeon, the home of the Kids' Choice Awards!

"Make It Pop" is a brand-new comedic, music-infused daily strip about three unique girls who come together to start their own K pop- inspired band. Randomly selected to room together at boarding school, three freshman girls – bookish Corki (Erika Tham), fashion forward Jodi (Louriza Tronco), and social media maven Sun Hi (Megan Lee) – meet and bond over music. With the help of fellow boarding school classmate and DJ hopeful, Caleb (Dale Whibley), the girls grow from roommates to bandmates as their band, "XO-IQ", becomes a school-wide sensation and they compete for a place in the upcoming school musical.

The series, which will feature original songs and performances in every episode, is co-created by Thomas W. Lynch and Nick Cannon and produced by DHX Media. "Make It Pop" is executive produced by Lynch and Cannon, together with Steven DeNure and Anne Loi for DHX Media. DHX Media will also handle global distribution and brand management for "Make It Pop", as well as merchandising and licensing through appointed agency, Copyright Promotions Licensing Group Ltd. (CPLG).

YTV in Canada will debut the series during Summer 2015.

To make Nickelodeon's 28th Annual Kids' Choice Awards the biggest, bestest and and slimiest 'Kids' Choice Awards' ever, Nickelodeon gave fans around the world the opportunity to vote for who they would like to receive Nickelodeon's highest honor, a epic sliming, to celebrate Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards 2015!


As part of Nickelodeon's global KCA Slime Vote, Nickelodeon's international channels and networks nominated local celebrities from their local KCA 2015 nominations to go head-to-head with other global stars for the chance to be slimed! NickHeads around the world voted for who they would like to see slimed for Nickelodeon's annual slimefest using special custom hashtags on Twitter.

To celebrate the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2015, Nickelodeon's 28th Annual Kids' Choice Awards, Variety has unveiled a exclusive interview with Nick Jonas, the host of KCA 2015, and Jay Schmalholz, Nickelodeon's Senior Vice President of live event television and Executive Producer of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2015, about Nickelodeon's annual slimefest ceremony, in which they talk about what fans can expect at the live event, reveal that there will be some unannounced special celebrity appearances and sliming spectacles that will have to be seen to believe, and announce that Nickelodeon will be using very special 3D mapping technology to create multiple and unique environments in the house!:

The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards is right around the corner, and the 28th annual slime-fest is set to be bigger than ever.

For the first time, the show will be simulcast across Viacom properties Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and TV Land, in addition to live streaming on Nick.com and the Nick App. Following the live show, encores will air across said cable nets, and CMT.

"At Nickelodeon, we are really in touch with kids and this show always reflects what's going on in their lives," exec producer Jay Schmalholz tells Variety. "Having fun, making kid's laugh, staying relevant and, of course, slime" are all key components that make Kids' Choice a success year-to-year.

Hosted by Nick Jonas from the Forum in Inglewood, California, the KCAs will welcome the likes of Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Liam Hemsworth, Grant Gustin, Nick Cannon, Josh Gad, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and YouTuber Bethany Mota, plus tween fan-favorites including Laura Marano, Ross Lynch, Debby Ryan, Shawn Mendes and Zendaya.

"I'm really excited to see Jamie Foxx, Chris Pratt and some surprise guests I can't mention," Jonas tells Variety.

Jonas also revealed that as emcee, he gets special privileges. "As the host, I also got to send the show my wish list of celebrity slimings," he teased. "You'll have to tune in to see who it will be."

Pulling double duty, the singer will open the show with a medley performance of his double platinum smash hit "Jealous" and "Chains." Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer is also set to take the stage, along with Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson who will play their duet "Trouble" together.

Jonas and Schmalholz tell Variety what else to expect this weekend at the Kids' Choice Awards:

What makes you the perfect Kids' Choice Awards host?

Jonas:"I grew up watching Nickelodeon and in addition to winning a couple of blimps, I had the opportunity to perform on the show while with the Jonas Brothers. I've always dreamed of hosting the show and am really excited. It will be fun."

Did you watch the KCAs when you were a kid?

Jonas:"Of course! I loved watching all of the performances, but I think my favorite part was seeing the celebrity slimings."

How are prepping for the big show?

Jonas:"I've been watching videos of previous hosts, focusing and visualizing success."

Schmalholz:"It's always hard to top yourself. But this year, we're in the biggest venue we've ever been in, so by scream volume alone, we've already topped ourselves. Our host Nick Jonas is incredibly relevant right now. He connects with kids everywhere because he's a kid himself."

What is different about the show this year?

Schmalholz:"We're incorporating our Nickelodeon stars more than ever this year. You will see cast members from 'Bella and the Bulldogs,''Henry Danger,''Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn' and 'The Thundermans' to name a few. This year we built the first-ever human slime car wash for the winner of our live voting category, and created a dancing archway of slime for our winners to walk through prior to accepting their award."

Do you have any surprises up your sleeves?

Jonas:"I can't give away any surprises — where's the fun in that?!"

Schmalholz:"Yes, but if I told you they wouldn't be surprises! What I can tell you is that we will have some unannounced special celebrity appearances and sliming spectacles that will have to be seen to believe. Also, we're using a 3D mapping technology to create multiple and unique environments in the house."

Why do celebrities love the Kids' Choice Awards?

Schmalholz:"Celebrities are always looking to connect with their audience and there's no better place than Nickelodeon for them to do that. This show is a lot of fun and winning a blimp and getting slimed is the ultimate honor in Hollywood…every A-list celebrity in Hollywood has either asked to be slimed or is waiting to be slimed."

Are you ready to get slimed?

Jonas:"Yes! To be slimed has often been described as "the ultimate honor" and who wouldn't want to be honored?"

How much slime should we expect?

Schmalholz:"Slime is always the star of the Kids' Choice Awards, and this year we are truly infusing it in every aspect of the show…For our finale, we will be using more slime than ever with 5 Second of Summer. Let's just say, it will be a slime finale of epic proportions."

Hip-hop phenomenon Iggy Azalea was joined by Academy Award- and Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson onstage in a bold and dynamic rendition of their hit "Trouble," which continued the storyline of their popular music video. In an epic finale, Aussie pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer's powerful performance of "What I Like About You" literally blew out the slime-filled speakers, flooding the stage with thousands of gallons of slime.

This year's Kids' Choice Awards proved to be as messy as ever, from Jennifer Lopez presenting Jonas with his award and a surprise sliming; to the Favorite Family TV Show stars of Modern Family getting doused in goo; Jonas chugging a mug of slime in a "Dare or Dare" slime challenge; and a backstage pie fight between Chris Pratt and the cast of Henry Danger.

The stars of The Thundermans cleaned up the special live vote during the show, which garnered over 7 million votes. They beat out the casts of Bella and the Bulldogs and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and received the deluxe treatment from the first-ever human slime car wash complete with conveyer, spinning brushes, swinging flaps, spraying nozzles and, of course, tons of slime.

Kids and families paid tribute to their favorites by casting votes in 21 categories, from Feb. 20-March 28, including the newly introduced Favorite Talent Competition Show, Favorite Family TV Show, Most Addicting Game and Favorite New Artist. Fans were able to vote for their favorites across all of Nickelodeon's digital platforms including Nick.com; the Nick App on Android, iOS and Kindle; and through Twitter using #KCA.

The star-studded telecast featured additional celebrity participants, including: Jamie Foxx, Emma Stone, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Rock, Zendaya, Echosmith, Josh Gad, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Grant Gustin, Debby Ryan, Chloe Bennet, Fifth Harmony, Joe Jonas, Nick Cannon, Shawn Mendes, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Kevin James, Mo'ne Davis, Skylar Diggins, Ross Lynch, Quvenzhané Wallis, Meghan Trainor, Jennette McCurdy, Laura Marano, Katherine Herzer, Jennette McCurdy and Bethany Mota, plus cast members from The Haunted Hathaways, Instant Mom, SpongeBob SquarePants, and many others.

The live broadcast of Nickelodeon's 28th Annual Kids' Choice Awards encores Saturday, March 28, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nick at Nite, and Sunday, March 29, at 12 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. London, 29th March 2015 6:40pm– Global pop phenomenon, One Direction and the group's legions of fans were recognised at 28th Annual Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards. The group took home two blimps, winning Favourite Music Group in the international vote as well as UK Favourite Music Act. Devoted fans of the group, the Directioners, were also recognised as they won UK Favourite Fan Family.

Other UK winners at this year's Kids' Choice Awards included Rixton(UK Favourite Breakthrough) and Alexis Sánchez(UK Favourite Football Star). Zoella (Zoe Sugg) repeated her victory of last year, winning UK Favourite Vlogger for the second year in a row. In the new categories for the year, The Diamond Mine Cart, took the blimp for UK Favourite Tipster while pet of Joey Essex, Prince Essex, proved himself 'the cat's meow,' by being voted UK Favourite Celebrity Animal. Recognising their outstanding contribution to entertainment, Ant and Dec were awarded the honorary UK TV Legends Award. Fans that missed the premiere broadcast of the Awards this evening will have another chance to catch the slime and star-filled Awards Show when it encores at 6:30pm on Monday, 30th March. The Awards will air through the week on Nickelodeon and, for the very first time, on Channel 5 on Sunday, 5th April.

Hosted by recording artist/actor and kids' pick for Favourite Male Singer Nick Jonas, the awards were broadcast from Los Angeles' legendary "Fabulous" Forum, where kids celebrated their favourites from the worlds of film, music, television and more. Kids from around the world cast more than 500 million votes, a record-breaking tally.


Multi-talented host Jonas opened the show with a stunning performance of his Billboard Top 10 smash, "Chains" and radio hit, "Jealous." Backed by tween-metal trio Unlocking the Truth, his theatrical set also featured a celeb-filled video montage, 3D elements and aerialists. Nickelodeon UK, the number one commercial kids TV network in the UK, announced today during a very special sneak-peek preview that Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon's brand-new original comedy series "Bella and the Bulldogs" in April 2015!

In Nick's new comedy ripped right out of the headlines of girls playing traditionally "boy" sports, Bella Dawson, a confident, caring and talented teenager, suddenly finds herself fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming the star quarterback of her middle school football team but also having to navigate the world of her teammates Troy, Sawyer and Newt, without losing her two best friends, Pepper and Sophie from the cheer squad.

Executive produced by Jeff Bushell, the show was created by Nickelodeon Writing Program alumni Gabriel Garza and Jonathan Butler, who also serve as co-executive producers. Garza began his writing career by being selected for the program in 2009, where he met his future writing partner and fellow program alum Jonathan Butler. Prior to selling their pitch to Nick and beginning development on "Bella and the Bulldogs", both Butler and Garza were staff writers on "The Haunted Hathaways".

Nickelodeon South East Asia has announced the exciting Nickelodeon International News in a post on their official Facebook profile page, Facebook.com/nickasia, that Nick SEA will start to premiere the show "Get Blake!", a brand-new exciting cartoon style comedy series filled with visual gags and delirious characters, on Monday 30th March 2015 at 11:25am on Nickelodeon Indonesia (WIB), 7:30pm on Nickelodeon Philippines (PH), and at 12:25pm on Nickelodeon Singapore (SG) and Nickelodeon Malaysia (MY)!


Additionally, to celebrate Nickelodeon South East Asia starting to premiere and show Nickelodeon's newest live-action comedy series "Bella and the Bulldogs" in April 2015, Nick SEA will also be airing a special sneak peek preview of Nick's all-new sitcom on Monday 30th March 2015! "Bella and the Bulldogs" premieres on Nickelodeon Asia on Monday, 6 April at 5.15pm (HK/SG) and 5.30pm (PH), and Saturday, 11 April at 3.55pm (TH/WIB) and 4.55pm (MY)!

Nickelodeon Announces The International Winners Of Kids' Choice Awards 2015

Nickelodeon International's "Nickelodeon 2015 Kids' Choice Awards" winners are in!


To help make Nickelodeon's 28th Annual Kids' Choice Awards the most global and successful "Kids' Choice Awards" ever, many international Nickelodeon channels and networks announced their localized country specific voting categories and nominations, which allowed Nickelodeon viewers around the world (Planet Orange) to cast their votes for local celebrities, as well as for Nickelodeon's global 2015 Kids' Choice Awards nominees.

This year, NickHeads cast a record breaking 500 million votes for their KCA favorites globally! Voting for the 2015 KCAs spanned six continents across 19 localised voting sites, in addition to Twitter hashtag voting (#KCA), giving kids practically everywhere the chance to decide who takes home a coveted orange blimp award.
