Kally’s MashUp is inspired by the real-life musical journey of Glee’s executive musical producer, Adam Anders. It follows the adventures of Kally, a young musical prodigy who tries to balance her life as a piano virtuoso and a regular girl when she moves from a small town to the most prestigious music university in the country. Although everyone thinks she was born to be a classical piano player, her true dream and passion is to be a pop star. Kally’s MashUp features original songs composed by Anders, his wife Nikki Anders, and longtime collaborator Peer Astrom. Anders serves as executive producer for the show and oversees all the music featured in the series.

Kally's MashUp season one (75×60-minute episodes) debuted on Nickelodeon Latinoamérica in October 2017 and has since been seen by more than 5 million viewers across the Latin American region, achieving the No. 1 position in Mexico among girls aged 7 to 14 years. Following its success, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica recently ordered more new episodes.

A new line of consumer products inspired by the popular series was released earlier this year. "Kally's MashUp: La música: banda sonora original de la serie de TV", a album featuring 18 songs from the hit TV show, was released on Friday 9th March 2018 by Deep Well Records, under exclusive license to Sony Music Entertainment US Latin LLC. The album can be downloaded now at kallysmashupofficial.com. A live stage show is expected to launch during winter 2018. Nickelodeon Latinoamérica recently hosted a contest in which one lucky Kally's MashUp fan won the chance to feature in the season finale of Kally's MashUp 2.

Maia na Nickelodeon

Estrelado pela atriz argentina Maia Reficco e pelo mexicano Alex Hoyer, ‘Kally’s Mashup’ retrata as aventuras de Kally.

Uma garota prodígio que depois de se mudar de uma cidade pequena para a mais prestigiada universidade de música do país, tenta equilibrar sua vida.

Entre ser uma virtuosa pianista e ao mesmo tempo uma garota comum.

Embora todos pensem que ela nasceu para ser uma pianista clássica, seu verdadeiro sonho e paixão é ser uma estrela de música pop.

No final da primeira temporada, Kally apresenta uma música original do pop clássico.

Os juízes se recusam a nomeá-la como a vencedora, porque ela apresentou um gênero musical que não é permitido nas regras da competição.

Mas acabam votando a seu favor, o que permite que Kally mantenha sua bolsa e continue no Allegro.

O álbum ‘Mashup: The Music’, da Kally, foi lançado na América Latina pela Sony Music e pela Deep Well Records.

A produção contém 18 músicas escritas por Adam Anders, em parceria com sua esposa Nikki Anders e seu antigo colaborador, Peer Astrom.

Adam Anders também atua como criador e produtor executivo.

A segunda temporada de Kally’s Mashup foi produzida pela 360 Powwow e pela Anders Media Inc., nos estúdios da Telefe, em Buenos Aires, Argentina. A série conta com seu elenco original, além de alguns novos personagens que prometem animar ainda mais essa história contagiante.

Viacom Launches Nickelodeon Play App in Central and Eastern Europe [Updated]

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is launching its first mobile video streaming app in partnership with an affiliate platform in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)!


Effective Wednesday 19th September 2018, Telenor customers in Serbia have free access to long-form content through Nickelodeon Play VoD mobile app. Telenor will also launch the app in Montenegro next month, with additional CEE affiliate partners to follow in the coming months.

The Nickelodeon Play app offers access to both full-length episodes of it Nickelodeon live-action and animated series and short form content, with a lineup of content from series such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Game Shakers, Alvin and the Chipmunks and PAW Patrol.


Nickelodeon Play is available under Telenor's Total 2, 5 and 10 packages, as well as the Play and Premium packages, free of charge. All other postpaid users can activate and try out the application for 30 days, after which the price of the tariff supplement is RSD 195.

Update (7/11): Viacom and Telenor have launched the Nickelodeon Play app in Montenegro! Play Plus and Premium Plus package users can activate the app for free, while for other postpaid and prepaid users they are available as a tariff add-on. Nickelodeon Play is part of Viacom’s wider suite of channel branded mobile apps for its core global brands, giving audiences direct access to a VoD content library of the most popular Nickelodeon shows, original animated shorts, games, and more. The app won the Emi Award for outstanding achievement in interactive media and enables users to watch their favourite cartoons and series and play original games whenever and wherever they want, on mobile devices.


“We’re delighted to be partnering with Telenor to allow mobile customers full access to the great Nickelodeon content on-the-go and on-demand for the first time in Serbia and Montenegro,” said Bartosz Witak, the Senior Vice President (SVP) and General Manager (GM) for VIMN in Central Eastern Europe and Israel. “The video streaming app will give Telenor premium customers greater flexibility and choice over when and where they experience their favourite shows and characters, serving their growing appetite for on-demand solutions.”

In this way, we continue to enrich the content we are offering and, consequently, the customer experience.”

Nickelodeon Arabia has announced the exciting news in a trailer that Nickelodeon Arabia will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon India's top-rated CG-animated series Motu Patlu very soon!



Update (5/11) - Nickelodeon Arabia will start to air Motu Patlu on Sunday 11th November 2018 at 12:12 (pm) KSA. Following launch, the series will air regularly on Nick Arabia. Motu Patlu will also air regularly on Viacom18's Rishtey Asia in the MENA region from Saturday 10th November 2018 at 08:00. Motu Patlu will be locally titled موتو باتلو in Arabia.

Motu and Patlu are two clueless, simple but lovable adventurers from Furfuri Nagariya, a small town in the heartland of India. The awesome twosome have an uncanny ability to attract trouble wherever they are, which only lands them in entertaining and hilarious situations. The two act like a trouble magnet but are always by each other’s side in all good and bad situations. They form a rather odd couple as Motu is a food addict and Patlu considers himself as the ‘Bright chap’ of the team, but when they come together, they sure bring laughter riots along. Join the awesome twosome in their journey of side-splitting adventures and ride through the thick and thin of comedy with them!


Motu Patlu made its debut on Nick India on 16th October 2012, and has since become one of the most popular cartoons in India. International co-productions are the way forward, says Cosmos-Maya CEO

Company takes three cartoon titles global

Cosmos-Maya, a leading studio in Asia and producer of many India's successful 3D and 2D animated series, has expanded globally with its three cartoon shows.

While Atchoo has been acquired by Nickelodeon and has reached 108 countries, Motu Patlu has been syndicated to the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) with Nickelodeon MENA. Tic Tac Tale and Atchoo too have expanded to MENA with Discovery Kids.

KKR-backed Emerald Media, a pan-Asia platform established by the leading global investment firm, recently acquired a controlling stake in the Singapore and India-based Cosmos-Maya. Emerald got Cosmos to create three linear channels for Wow Kidz, their own brand, and launch it on Yupp TV on a subscription basis, enabling access to the latter’s customers across the world.

In return, Yupp TV has helped launch Motu Patlu to an audience outside India. Anish Mehta, CEO, Cosmos-Maya spoke to BusinessLine on the state of the industry. Excerpts:

Technology is no more seen as intrusive as it used to be in creating animation. Your views?

India has had the technology and know-how of 2D animation since the 1990s. Yes, there have been technological advancements and we do have better tools at our disposal but animation has always been a medium of creative storytelling and the animator assumes utmost importance.

There have been improvements with each subsequent phase but the 2D animation process remains largely unchanged. There has been no change that drastically cuts down the production time. Even in the case of 3D animation, the Maya software has been in use since the early 2000s. There have been periodic upgrades but not much has changed.

How well the animator picks up the vocation is what matters in the end. The changes in creative expression and aptitude over the years matters more for us.

How is the explosive growth in new distribution platforms helping content creators?

The increase in distribution platforms has proved to be very beneficial to content creators. There is a plethora of new VOD platforms competing for both consumers and content. Content creators have been given a licence to create disruptive storylines which can be aired on a number of platforms.

Age-old formats have started changing. Episode numbers are no longer stipulated. As content producers, there are a lot of creative liberties we are getting nowadays, but whatever the medium, the connect with the audience still holds paramount importance.

There are examples where upstarts with great stories have made a name for themselves. YouTube has been the preferred platform in these cases given its high virality potential. However, for kids’ content, there are a lot of SMPs that creators need to keep in mind and only a compelling narrative does not suffice.

Low barriers and costs are driving upstarts into animation. What does the future hold for them?

This has been a boon for content creators. However, it is important to note that trends emerge, platforms proliferate at every phase of technological advancement. The one thing that remains constant is hard-to-please audience. The quality of the content plays a major role here.

Having said that, the freedom an individual consumer gets with these platforms is phenomenal. That makes things a lot more challenging creatively because one has to balance the commercial, technical as well as creative constraints while appeasing consumers who are so discerning.

Is ‘cartoon and animation on mobile device’ the next opportunity?

Yes, without a doubt. India is a country where most households have a single television set. When parents want to watch soap operas or a news channel, mobile is the only platform kids have for watching their favourite shows. Prime Video and Netflix both run on smartphones and there’s always YouTube. It helps our cause that more than 60 per cent of the content consumed on YouTube by children under the age of 14 is short form content.

India is a country with close to 600 million smartphone users. Kids, being very mobile-phone-savvy, are an unexplored audience whose digital consumption helps media conglomerates drive consumer-aggregation.

How is a globally distributed workflow, and the cloud at large, helping your cause?

International co-productions are the way forward. When two studios decide to produce a show together, distribution of the labour is only one of the benefits. The merging of cultures and creative inputs from each side ensures that the ideas generated are unique and have a global appeal. ‘Atchoo!’, one of our international co-productions has recently been syndicated to 108 countries. This speaks volumes of the success of such ventures.

Cloud computing has been a boon in this regard. Co-animators from different parts of the world can work together, store, manage and share their produce without ever being in physical proximity.

Ну а чтобы дети не скучали на осенних каникулах, телеканал запускает грандиозный марафон с 1 по 14 ноября каждый день с 17:40 до 20:10. В эфире будут как полюбившиеся новые шоу (например, все серии «Эволюции Черепашек-ниндзя» разом 4 ноября), так и старые шоу, которые так просили вернуть дети, – сериалы «АйКарли», «Биг Тайм Раш», «Сэм и Кэт».


А в конце месяца, с 26 ноября, по выходным в 21:25 стартует премьера второго сезона мультсериала «Добро пожаловать в Вэйн». Еще больше приключений в невероятно таинственном здании «Вэйн»!

Мультсериал рассказывает о приключениях Олли Тимберса и Энси Молины, двух десятилетних ребят, исследующих странное, безумное здание, в котором они живут, – «Вэйн». В сентябре на Nick Jr. состоялась премьера 5 сезона одного из самых любимых среди российских детей мультсериала «Щенячий патруль»[1]. В новых сериях зрители увидели приключения озорного мальчика Райдера и храбрых щенят – Гончика, Маршала, Скай, Крепыша, Рокки, Эверест и Зумы. Герои мультсериала помогают тем, кто попал в непростую ситуацию, а также противостоят котятам-хулиганам из команды «КОТастрофа» под руководством мэра города Фогги-Боттом Хамдингера. В новом сезоне отряд из смелых и решительных щенков, возглавляемый Райдером, находит потерявшегося страусенка, возвращает реликвию, пропавшую с места раскопок, а также выручает капитана Палтуса и его двоюродного брата, застрявших в батисфере на дне океана.

Согласно результатам рейтингов, по сравнению с предыдущим годом, в сентябре 2018 года дошкольники смотрели любимые мультсериалы на Nick Jr. на 4% дольше, что составило 73 минуты в день[2].

NEW YORK-Aug. 20, 2018-Nickelodeon, in partnership with Red Tail Productions, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Tail Entertainment, and CB Entertainment, announced today Nickelodeon’s Double Dare Live, a multi-city live stage tour inspired by the iconic TV game show Double Dare. Featuring original host Marc Summers and his beloved sidekick Robin Russo, the live stage show will debut in Fayetteville, NC, on October 30 and will tour North America through November. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m. Fans can visit doubledarelivetour.com for a list of upcoming Double Dare Live tour cities, times and ticket information.

“Hosting the Double Dare Live tour couldn’t be any more exciting, and I look forward to bringing the fun and messiness of Double Dare to audiences across the country,” said Marc Summers. “Doing the show again with my sidekick Robin will fulfill childhood dreams of the generation that grew up with us and introduce this classic show to the next generation.”

Double Dare Live will feature two teams comprised of selected audience members competing to win prizes by answering brain-bending trivia questions, completing messy physical challenges and ultimately facing the legendary obstacle course.


The brand-new Double Dare series premiered this summer and ranks in the top three shows with Kids 6-11 on all TV. The new Double Dare TV series is hosted by digital creator and actress Liza Koshy, with original host Marc Summers providing color commentary on the challenges and lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode.

Double Dare premiered on Oct. 6, 1986, on Nickelodeon, and ran from 1986-1993, making it the network’s longest running game show. Marc Summers served as the show’s original host from 1986-1993. Shortly after its debut, Double Dare became one of the most popular original daily programs on cable television. The series went into syndication in 1988, and was later revived as Super Sloppy Double Dare in 1989. The show also ran on broadcast television as Family Double Dare in 1988, followed by new versions on Nick, including Double Dare 2000.

Update (8/24): Red Tail Live! has announced on Twitter that they'll be rolling the second leg of the Double Dare Live tour during Spring 2018, which will visit the West side of the USA, as opposed to this Fall which focuses on the East! Red Tail Live! added that they don't yet know exactly what cities they are coming into yet, but advised fans to definitely keep a lookout!

Those aged 18 years or older who purchase tickets may also return to the site after purchasing to register for a chance to be a contestant on the live show! The show will begin accepting online applications to participate on Oct. 1. You can also register to be a participant in person on the day of the show. This could be your one chance to face the legendary Double Dare obstacle course and get really messy!

For fans who are interested in meeting Marc Summers and Robin Russo, there are special VIP tickets you’ll be able to buy that include premium show seating, a pre-show meet and greet photo opportunity with Marc Summers and Robin Russo on the Double Dare Live stage, and an official Double Dare Live tour laminate souvenir. 'Double Dare Live' in Nashville: 'Relentless' Marc Summers still the draw

Few TV shows are more beloved by children of the ‘80s and early ‘90s than ‘Double Dare,’ the famously sloppy Nickelodeon game show hosted by Marc Summers.

From 1986 to 1993, its young audience tuned in to watch kids like them compete in messy “Physical Challenges” and race through a slime-filled obstacle course.

Now, 25 years later, “Double Dare” has made a comeback. A new version of the show began airing on Nickelodeon earlier this year, and a national tour, “Double Dare Live!” comes to TPAC’s Jackson Hall on Friday.

But in Marc Summers’ world, ‘Double Dare’ has never gone away.

“We haven't stopped doing the show for 32 years,” Summers tells The Tennessean. “Even when it wasn't on the air, we were doing it somewhere.”

While he moved on to other TV hits like The Food Network’s “Unwrapped,” Summers continued to host a special version of “Double Dare” for corporate events.

When fans of the show reached drinking age, he presided over an annual, highly unofficial “Drunk Double Dare” for Philadelphia Beer Week.

And for years, he hounded executives at Nickelodeon about bringing the show back – until they finally gave in.

The new “Double Dare” has a new host – social media star Liza Koshy – while Summers serves in a supporting role. But for the “Double Dare Live” tour, he’s again at center stage, just as he was for the show’s original tours in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

He told us about the journey to get “Double Dare” back on the air, how he had a "big learning curve" returning to kids’ entertainment in 2018, and shared his best tips for fans that are hoping to compete on stage in Nashville.

'I'm pretty relentless'

“I've been crawling up Nickelodeon's uh, body part for a long time, trying to get them to do this, and the answer was always, 'No,’” Summers says.

“I'm pretty relentless. So I read that they were bringing back 'Blues Clues,' and then I read that they were bringing back 'Clarissa (Explains It All).' I sent an email to the executives that simply said, 'Am I getting the next phone call?' That's all it said. 'Send.' And a few mornings later, I woke up, and the email (from Nickelodeon) said, 'Can you call us?' This was the opening line: 'Your persistence has paid off.' So you know, never give up.”

'It's another world'

Summers jokes that they last had a “Double Dare” tour “a hundred years ago.” But it likely felt that long when he jumped back into the world of kids’ TV after 25 years away.

Today’s “Double Dare” contestants, for example, celebrate with victory dances learned from the video game “Fortnite.” And while Summers got his start as a warmup comedian for sitcoms like “Alice” and “Soap,” new host Koshy became a star on the social media platform Vine.

“I had a big learning curve, quite honestly,” he says. “Because when I first had the meeting with (Nickelodeon), they said, 'You know, you're not going to host it.' I said, 'No, I understand that. Do you have somebody in mind?' And they said, 'Yes, we want to bring on an influencer.' And I said, 'I have no idea what that means.' I didn't know the term.

I had to do homework, really quick, and get online and start looking at Liza's stuff. I realized that when she broke up with her boyfriend, 30 million people watched. It's another world.”

“When I walked out (on stage) the first couple of days, before the show was on the air, the parents would be in the back row, and they would go nuts. And the kids would go (murmurs) 'Who's that old guy?' And then Liza would walk out, and it was like seeing the Beatles. And the parents would go, 'Who's that?' We've now merged two generations, and it's just working. It's weird.”

'The one thing I tell parents is...'

“It’s all being bought by (adults),” Summers says. “They all have stories. The show on the air is for the parents who have kids who are the same age they were when the show first started.”

With that in mind, he has a tip for those families hoping to participate in the live show.

“The one thing I tell parents is, 'Don't tell your kids that you'll get on stage no matter what.'…When there's 3,000 people in an audience, and you're only bringing 75 on stage, don't tell your kids that they're gonna get on. I select the people right out the audience. If you're sitting there with your head down and your hands wringing, I'm not going to select you, but if I see energy, enthusiasm, 'Pick me! Pick me!' You've got a really good shot.”

DULUTH, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators have announced the full details for the team’s annual Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend on November 16th, 17th and 18th.

The Gladiators tradition of painted-ice for Hockey Fights Cancer weekend will return, but with a new twist. At the ice signing event on Wednesday, November 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, fans will have the unique opportunity to go onto the ice and paint the names of loved ones battling cancer, those who have survived cancer, or in honor of those who have passed away. The team will then play the three home games of Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend (November 16, 17, 18) on top of the names in the ice. To participate in the ice signing event, fans are asked to donate $5 to the Canvas for a Cause charity, who will also be attending the event.

“Our main goal is to make this the most successful Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend we have ever had,” said Team President Scott Henrichsen. “It was our mission have as many exciting things as we could to go along with our HFC initiative such as the Nickelodeon Takeover Night with special jerseys, a $5 frenzy and much more to get the most exposure we can for this incredible cause. We have many great cancer organizations partnering with us to make sure we raise as much funds and awareness as we can.”


Aside from the traditional fundraising opportunities for Metro-Atlanta cancer organizations and charities all weekend, the team will have numerous chances to give back to the Hockey Fights Cancer cause at all three games. The showcase evening of the three games will be Saturday, November 17th at 7:35 pm. On this date, the Gladiators will host their first ever Nickelodeon Takeover Night with a, mainly, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme. ECHL ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH NICKELODEON FOR 2018-19 SEASON

The ECHL (East Coast Hockey League) has announced that the League has partnered with Nickelodeon to host a “Nickelodeon Takeover Experience” at 26 home games during the upcoming 2018-19 season! The announcement was made yesterday (Monday 24th September 2018) at Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.


Teams will be able to choose from popular Nickelodeon properties including Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol and NickSplat, the network’s multi-screen destination dedicated to Nick’s legendary library of hits from the ‘90s and 2000s, as the theme for their designated game.

As part of the experience, OT Sports will produce a set of Nickelodeon-themed jerseys for teams to wear on their selected night, and teams will build their in-game promotions around the characters of their choice.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the ECHL,” said ECHL Commissioner Ryan Crelin. “Nickelodeon is a cherished brand for families in all of our markets, and the ability to bring their characters into our arenas will undoubtedly provide for a heightened game experience and welcome new fans into our buildings.”



“At Nickelodeon we create content and on-the-ground experiences that are fun, engaging and relevant to our audience, said Eddie Hill, from Nickelodeon Sports. “Through this expanded partnership with the ECHL, we will celebrate kids’ love for the action and excitement of hockey, combined with the Nick characters they love.”

N00Bees, whose title denotes a person who is new at playing an online game and/or is bad at it, follows Silvia, her brother Erick and their friends Tania, Pablo and Niko. Silvia has never been interested in video games. She has always preferred the outdoors and playing her favorite sport basketball. She is the opposite of her father, Hector, and her brother - for them video games is everything! When Erick is presented with the unique opportunity of participating in the E-Sports Championship, his greatest dream, Silvia does everything possible to help him achieve it, even if it means becoming a professional gamer. Silvia and Erick along with their friends create N00Bees - an E-sports team that will compete for the title at the Professional Video Games League. But the task will not be easy. Besides dealing with all the usual problems associated with growing up, Silvia will have to learn how to play video games while competing against David, the best player in the region and with whom she'll fall in love. What nobody knows is that something will happen to Silvia that will make her gain some incredible powers allowing her to control the way she plays videogames, and this will be epic! All this will unleash all kinds of adventures and moments that fans CANNOT miss!

N00bees is the Nickelodeon's first-ever gaming series, co-produced with Mediapro, and will bring fans closer to the world of video games. The show began filming in Bogotá, Colombia in May 2018, and is set to air on Nickelodeon Latinoamérica in the fall. The series, featuring 60 1-hour episodes, will also run on the free-to-air (FTA) network RCN in Colombia later this year. The Spanish language series will also be adapted to Portuguese for Nick viewers in Brazil (Brasil).


N00Bees is created by Enrique Pérez from Mediapro Group’s production company 100Balas.

The show features new and established pan-regional actors, including Mexican natives Michelle Olvera (La Doña, Huérfanas, O Señor De Los Cielos) and newcomer Andres de la Mora; Colombians Maria Jose Vargas (Majo Vargas YouTuber e Celebridade no Instagram, Puro Flow, Francisco El Matemático) and Ilenia Antonini (Chica Vampiro); and Argentinean Lion Bagnis (La Doña, Baila). Additional cast members are Colombian actress and model Karen Martinez (Cartel De Los Sapos, Final Tiempo), Brandon Figueredo, who returns to Nickelodeon screens following his role in Nickelodeon Latinoamérica's hit series Yo Soy Franky, and Brazilian actress Clara Tiezzi (Malhação, Rebelde), among others.

The series will include images from Mediapro’s Professional Videogames League (LVP), the biggest e-sports league in Spain and host of major online and offline tournaments for such hit games as “League of Legends” and “Call of Duty.”

La colombiana ingresa a la serie ‘Noobees’ que se graba en Bogotá y que estará al aire desde este 17 de septiembre.

Ya es un buen número de producciones que el canal juvenil, Nickelodeon ha venido realizando en Colombia, que suele contar con un elenco integrado con actores de distintos países de América Latina, pero con un especial aporte del talento nacional.

Es el caso de ‘Noobees’, su nueva serie que se encuentra grabando a dos móviles en los estudios de Televideo, así como en distintas locaciones de Bogotá, y que llegará a la pantalla de este canal, en su señal de América Latina, a partir del 17 de septiembre.

“Ha sido una gran experiencia que me ha permitido reencontrarme con las experiencias de los jóvenes y el mundo de los videojuegos, que para mí es algo muy nuevo. Poder conocer cómo se mueven estos muchachos que se dedican a los videojuegos, muchos de ellos de manera profesional”, comentó Santiago Vargas, quien dirige la segunda unidad de grabación de la serie.

Se encuentran grabando a dos móviles para poder realizar los 60 capítulos, cada uno de una hora, que harán parte de su primera temporada, que más adelante también será emitida por el Canal RCN en Colombia.

Dentro del elenco que hace parte de esta nueva serie se encuentran actores mexicanos como Michelle Olvera, quien ha trabajado en producciones que se han emitido en Colombia como ‘La Doña’, ‘Huérfanas’, ‘El Señor de los Cielos’, además de Andrés de la Mora, quien hace su debut con esta serie.

Con tan solo 17 años, María José Vargas tiene una trayectoria y experiencia en dramatizados que muchos actores ya consagrados envidiarían.

Tras su debut en Tres milagros (2011) ha pasado por series como Lady, la vendedora de rosas, Comando Elite, Francisco, el matemático, Las Santísimas y Garzón. Su más reciente aparición es en La reina del flow, donde además debutó como cantante de música urbana.

La actriz antioqueña, hermana de Yuri Vargas, se prepara para el estreno de la serie juvenil Noobees, sobre videojuegos, del canal Nickelodeon, en la que se meterá en la piel de la antagonista.

“Soy la que le pone la chispa a la historia, siempre me meto en problemas y no siempre salgo bien de ellos. Es un personaje muy divertido, que por momentos pueden odiar, pero que van a disfrutar mucho”, así define ella este rol. En la producción, que se está grabando en Bogotá, comparte elenco con los mexicanos Michelle Olvera y Andrés de la Mora, más Karen Martínez (la esposa de Juanes) y Luis Fernando Salas.

María José, fanática del videojuego de Mario Bross, anota que esta serie servirá para cambiar el falso concepto que muchos tienen sobre los gamers. “Vengo de novelas de muchas escenas de llanto, en cambio en Nickelodeon es pura diversión y risa, ha sido una experiencia muy bonita, pero a la vez una responsabilidad muy alta por el público al que le llegamos, los más jóvenes”.

El mundo de los videojuegos se verá expuesto en la más reciente producción de Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, N00bees, que contará con talento colombiano, argentino, brasilero y mexicano.

Este seriado relatará, a partir de este lunes, la historia de Silvia (la mexicana Michelle Olvera), una joven que apenas inicia en el mundo de los videojuegos y que siempre ha preferido el aire libre y jugar su deporte favorito, el baloncesto. Su vida da un giro cuando su hermano Erick (Brandon Figueredo) tiene la oportunidad de cumplir su mayor sueño: participar en el E-Sports Championship. Silvia hará todo lo posible para ayudarlo, aunque también tenga que convertirse en una gamer profesional.

Así es como crean N00Bees, un equipo de eSports que competirá por el título Professional Video Games League. En el camino a Silvia le tocará lidiar con problemas usuales relacionados a su desarrollo como persona, como el amor que sentirá por David (el mexicano Andrés de la Mora), el mejor jugador de la región y los obstáculos que creará la antagonista de la historia, Ruth (la colombiana María José Vargas).

El elenco también incluye a la reconocida actriz colombiana y modelo Karen Martínez y a la actriz brasileña Clara Tiezzi, entre otros.

“Ruth es la chica que hace travesuras. Es influencer y youtuber. Tiene mucho estilo y está enamorada perdidamente del protagonista que se llama David, por lo que hará hasta lo imposible por llamar su atención”, comentó Vargas, que se inspiró para interpretar este personaje en las “villanas” que ve desde niña en productos audiovisuales.

Con la idea de dar a conocer como es la convivencia y cuales son las internas del mundo de los esport, las productoras Grupo Mediapro y Viacom International buscaron reflejar con gran realismo el fenómeno gaming que no para de crecer en el mundo juvenil.



Noobees trata sobre las aventuras de un equipo de esports que competirá en la Professional Video Games League y reproduce el ambiente de las grandes partidas, las finales, la competitividad entre los equipos, incluyendo espectaculares imágenes de la LVP. La historia tiene puesto el foco sobre Silvia, a quien nunca le interesaron los videojuegos y sus pasatiempos no podrían más distintos que los de su familia. Mientras que a ella le interesan las actividades al aire libre y jugar al basket a Hector, su padre, y Erick, su hermano, viven y respiran por los gameplay. Para ellos los esports son una forma de vida y su pasión.

Pero a pesar de las diferencias en cuanto a pasatiempos, cuando a Erick se le presenta la oportunidad de cumplir el sueño de su vida, ganar el campeonato de esports, Silvia hará todo lo que esté en su poder para hacer realidad el sueño de su hermano, aunque eso signifique salir de su zona de confort. Los hermanos, acompañados por sus amigos, Tania, Pablo y Niko crean su equipo de esports: Noobees. La joven no solo tendrá que lidiar con los problemas de la adolescencia, sino que también tendrá que aprender a jugar mientras compite contra David, el mejor jugador de la región y de quien se enamorará. Sin embargo, algo extraño pasa de repente y desarrolla una habilidad para los videojuegos casi sobrenatural que pondrá a su equipo en el mapa.

La producción cuenta con talento joven y proveniente de diferentes partes del mundo. Una de ellas es Majo Vargas, quien a su corta edad ha logrado formar una carrera exitosa en nuestro país y ahora, también afuera.

“Mi personaje Ruth es la antagonista de la historia, es creída, irónica, pero a la vez es simpática y extrovertida. En cuanto a su personalidad es un poco bipolar. Ella está enamorada del protagonista, tanto así que llegará a hacer cosas que ni ella misma pensaba que sería capaz de hacer.

Además de lo que cuenta Majo, Ruth es una joven caprichosa y no le importará pasar por encima de quien sea para alcanzar sus objetivos.

“Y por eso meterá a muchos en problemas pues los convertirá en sus cómplices. A veces los planes le saldrán bien, en otras ocasiones no, pero la verdad es que esto se convertirá en un punto interesante para todos los televidentes de esta serie”.

Las actrices aseguran que además de entretener, uno de los objetivos principales de esta serie es acabar con los estereotipos creados a partir de la figura del gamer.

“Esta serie tiene una gran diversidad de actores y personalidades, por eso sé que cada joven podrá identificarse con un personaje diferente”, Majo Vargas, actriz colombiana

“En la sociedad actual muchas personas tienen el pensamiento de que un gamer es una persona que se la pasa encerrada en su casa todo el día al frente a la consola, y la verdad es que no es así. Lo cierto es que un verdadero gamer tiene que pasar por una formación muy fuerte para llegar a convertirse en el mejor. No es solo estar frente a una pantalla. Se preparan tanto física, como mentalmente. Es un mundo tan grande y no tan conocido por las personas”, asegura Majo Vargas.

Michelle agrega que

además de hablar de videojuegos, también se tienen en cuenta otro tipo de temas, importantes para aquellos niños y jóvenes que están en plena formación de su personalidad. “Y es que al tema principal le agreguemos otros aspectos de mucha relevancia como la importancia de los valores y de la familia”.

Noobes le apuesta al talento joven de Latinoamérica

Además de Majo, el elenco también incluye a colombianos como Karen Martínez, Felipe Arcila, Kevin Bury, Ilenia Antonini y Brandon Figueredo, quien regresa a la pantalla de Nickelodeon tras su participación en Yo Soy Franky. En cuanto a artistas extranjeros los televidentes se encontrarán con Andrés de la Mora quien hará su debut en esta serie, el argentino Lion Bagnis y la actriz brasileña Clara Tiezzi, entre otros.

“Estar con actores de diferentes partes del mundo ha sido como una clase. Todos los días aprendemos algo diferente, y no solamente de herramientas actorales, también de cultura, pues cada artista es un universo diferente y tiene una historia nueva para contar sobre su país de origen. No solo ha sido llegar a grabar, también ha implicado que nos sentemos a hablar varias horas sobre palabras, comidas, ciudades y más. Ha sido muy divertido”.

Las grabaciones de esta serie se realizaron en Bogotá, lo que implicó que actores como Michelle tuvieran que radicarse en Colombia durante un tiempo y debieran enfrentarse a un país diferente.

“Al principio no entendía muchas palabras, no sabía qué era “paila”, sin embargo, ya me quedó en el diccionario mental y ya hasta la adopté. Está padre probar y saber otras cosas. Ya no necesito que nadie me cuente porque ya experimenté”.

Cualquier novato o con poca destreza en el mundo del gaming no tendrá problema en seguir la trama de N00bees, la nueva serie emitida por el canal Nickelodeon y producida en Colombia por Viacom International Studios. Sí, hablo de videojuegos pero desde una perspectiva poco usual, fuera de su estigma de alternativa de ocio adictiva y aparentemente poco provechosa.



El gaming profesional es toda una realidad a nivel internacional, donde se conforman ligas y desarrollan torneos de alto vuelo, al punto de convertirse en opciones de vida para sus integrantes. Eso sin contar el atractivo que representa la creación de videojuegos dentro de la denominada “economía naranja”. Por mencionar un caso, ya en Bogotá existe el Kamp Arena, donde se entrena en eSports. O en Medellín, donde existe la primera gaming house de Colombia.

Ambos factores sirven como contexto para darle forma a la historia de N00bees, un argumento que busca conciliar las emociones de estos torneos con valores como el trabajo en equipo, la unión familiar y la importancia de no descuidar el mundo real.



Gracias a una cortesía de la producción conocí los estudios de la grabación de N00bees antes de su debut y quedé gratamente sorprendido por la calidad de la dirección de arte. Los sets son frescos, dinámicos, con colores vibrantes que van acorde al estilo de la serie, que no descuida detalles para recrear el mundo que se ha propuesto describir. Tuve la opción de conversar con el director de la segunda unidad, Santiago Vargas, y comparto en el siguiente audio su explicación del propósito de la serie.

Desde luego, conversé con parte de su elenco, quienes hablan de sus respectivos personajes y el mensaje que desean transmitir a jóvenes y padres de familia al respecto. Por un lado conversé con Kevin Bury e Ilenia Antonini , a la vez que compartí unos momentos con Clara Tiezzi y Brandon Figueredo. Todos son promesas actorales y desde el capítulo uno se percibe el buen ensamblaje actoral, todos en el mismo tono sin caer en exageraciones.

Este 17 de septiembre se estrenó para toda la región en Nickelodeon a las 6:00 p.m. y se emite diariamente desde entonces. Ya se anunció su debut en el Canal RCN para el mes de octubre durante los fines de semana, así que no hay excusa para sumergirse en la pasión de los juegos de video del momento con N00bees.

Se trata de un divertido elenco que quiere retratar cómo mediante el juego se puede incluso aprender. La antagonista de la historia es nada más y nada menos que la actriz colombiana María José Vargas, quien ha mencionado que estar en este papel no fue una tarea sencilla: en una entrevista del Espectador afirmó lo siguiente:

“Mi personaje se llama Ruth, y es la chica que le pone un poco la chispa a la trama y la que se mete siempre en problemas. Algunas cosas le salen bien y otras no tan bien, pero es la que siempre trata de dañar los amores. Está enamorada del protagonista, tanto que es capaz de cualquier cosa. Además, mi personaje es una youtuber que tiene muchísimos seguidores y quiere que todo el mundo sea igual que ella. No fue nada fácil para mí al principio meterme en un personaje que es todo lo opuesto a mí, pero lo logré con el tiempo”.

La serie pretenden derribar los estereotipos que existen alrededor del gaming, y cómo este mundo requiere de disciplina, talento, estrategia, incluso inteligencia, todo lo contrario, a “vago”.

De acuerdo con la antagonista de esta divertida historia, los jugadores cuiden su cuerpo, y su salud mental, emocional, y contrarío a lo que se cree, si tienen vida social.

Al respecto Sergi Mesonero, co-fundador de la Liga de Videojuegos Profesional, hizo un post en twitter donde anunciaba la serie de gaming dirigida al público juvenil, que surge de la unión entre Nickelodeon Latinoamérica y el Grupo MEDIAPRO."



La serie, llega en septiembre, estará compuesta de 60 episodios de una hora cada uno, prometiendo enamorar a los chicos amantes de los videojuegos, la serie es grabada en Bogotá, Colombia, en las instalaciones de Televideo de MEDIAPRO, en la cual se han creado producciones como Chica Vampiro y Yo Soy Franky de Nickelodeon Latinoamérica.



Sinopsis
N00Bees nos acerca a la historia de una persona que es nueva en el mundo del gaming o que no es buena jugando. Silvia nunca ha tenido interés por los videojuegos. Siempre ha preferido el aire libre y jugar a su deporte favorito, el baloncesto. Es lo opuesto a su padre, Héctor, y a su hermano Erick, para los que los videojuegos lo son todo. Cuando Erick tiene la oportunidad cumplir su mayor sueño, participar en el E-Sports Championship, Silvia hará todo lo posible para ayudarlo a lograrlo, aunque ella también tenga que convertirse en un gamer profesional.

Silvia y Erick, acompañados por sus amigos, Tania, Pablo y Niko crean N00Bees (un equipo de e-sports que competirá por el título de Professional Video Games League) pero esto no será fácil. Además de lidiar con los problemas usuales asociados con crecer, Silvia tendrá que aprender a jugar videojuegos mientras compite contra David, el mejor jugador de la región y de quien se enamorará. Lo que nadie sabe, es que algo le pasará a Silvia que le dará unos poderes increíbles permitiéndole controlar la forma en que ella juega.

Que los jóvenes ven “eSports” ya es de conocimiento popular. Tal y como se informó en Gamelab (Feria profesional sobre videojuegos y ocio interactivo creada en España), cerca de 400 millones de espectadores en todo el mundo siguen estas competiciones de videojuegos en las distintas plataformas de “streaming”.

De esos espectadores, según un análisis de Limelight Networks (https://www.limelight.com), la mayoría son “millennials”, jóvenes de 18 a 25 años, que dedican más tiempo a ver deportes electrónicos que tradicionales. Y un tercio de ellos querría dedicarse a ellos profesionalmente.

Con estos datos, no es de extrañar que los “eSports” hayan dado el salto de internet a la televisión convencional, pues distintos canales de varios países ya emiten competiciones y contenido sobre los deportes electrónicos.

Sin embargo, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica ha ido un paso más allá y, en colaboración con Mediapro, ha lanzado recientemente la serie de televisión, “N00bees” o “NooBees”, idea original de Enrique Pérez “Flipy” (famoso productor, actor y presentador televisivo, conocido por “El Hormiguero”) y la productora 100 Balas.

La trama de la serie se centra en un grupo de jóvenes que quieren competir al máximo nivel y dedicarse a los “eSports”, y está dirigida a un público infantil y adolescente, aunque ampliable al resto de la familia, debido a que sirve para comprender este mundo tan nuevo y ponerlo a disposición del público.

ACERCARSE A LOS VIDEOJUEGOS EN FAMILIA.

La actriz mexicana Michelle Olvera es la encargada de protagonizar “N00bes” y acercar así los deportes electrónicos a aquel sector de la audiencia que no los conozca. Porque, aunque sea joven, Silvia, el personaje al que Olvera da vida, no está muy puesta en los videojuegos.

La joven prefiere los deportes tradicionales al aire libre, y le gusta jugar al baloncesto, a diferencia de su padre, Héctor (el colombiano Luis Fernando Salas) y su hermano Erick (Brandon Figueredo), que disfrutan del “gaming”.

Sin embargo, cuando Erik tiene la oportunidad de cumplir su sueño y competir en el eSports Championship, Silvia no dudará en apoyarle, aunque eso suponga convertirse en una “gamer” profesional. Lo que nadie sabe, es que contará con un poder que la ayudará a pasar de inexperta a deportista electrónica.

Los dos hermanos, junto a sus amigos: Tania (la italo-colombiana Ilenia Antonini), Pablo (el colombiano Kevin Bury) y Niko (Andy Munera), crearán “N00Bees”, el equipo con el que competirán en la Liga Profesional de Videojuegos (LVP).

“N00bees es un equipo que apenas está iniciando, pero que tendrá un gran futuro gracias al verdadero trabajo en equipo”, dijo Michelle Olveras a Publimetro.

Pero no todo será un camino de rosas para el equipo, pues deberán enfrentarse, entre otras cosas, a “Rockers”, el equipo más potente de la región. De él forma parte David (el mexicano Andrés de la Mora), el mejor jugador de la zona, que compartirá un romance con Silvia.

Este será el motivo por el que Silvia tendrá como antagonista a Ruth (la colombiana Majo Vargas), una “influencer” y “youtuber” miembro de “Rockers”, que está perdidamente enamorada de David.

El resto de los “Rockers” son Lili (la japonesa-colombiana Megumi Hasebe), Roberta (la colombiana Karol Saavedra”), y “Kong” (el colombiano Felipe Arcila).

REPARTO TAN INTERNACIONAL COMO EL “GAMING”.

Y, como el mundo de los eSports une y confronta a gente de distintas nacionalidades rompiendo barreras gracias al factor digital, el resto del reparto muestra esa internacionalización, contando con actores como la brasileña Clara Tiezzi, en el papel de Laura; el argentino Lion Bagnis, como Matt; o el colombiano-estadounidense Oscar Rodo, que dará vida a Roberto.

Tras su debut el pasado 17 de septiembre en Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, “NooBees”, rodada en Televideo (los estudios de Mediapro en Colombia), ha llegado en octubre a RCN (Radio Cadena Nacional), cadena pública colombiana que emite la serie tras el noticiario.

Así, la serie mezcla los tejemanejes del mundo del “gaming” y los deportes electrónicos, con las inquietudes propias de niños y adolescentes, ahondando en sus rivalidades y amoríos, y en conceptos como la competitividad o la amistad.

“Al tema principal (los ‘eSports’) le agregamos otros aspectos de mucha relevancia como la importancia de los valores y de la familia”, explicó a este respecto Michelle Olvera en declaraciones también a Publimetro.

“En la sociedad actual mucha gente tiene el pensamiento de que un ‘gamer’ es una persona que se la pasa encerrada en su casa todo el día al frente a la consola, y la verdad es que no es así”, comentó Majo Vargas para el mismo medio.

La actriz también ha comentado que un “gamer” precisa de una formación importante para llegar a ser el mejor, en el plano físico y mental, que no es solo sentarse durante horas frente a una pantalla.

De momento, la serie consta de 60 capítulos de una hora de duración, y cuenta con imágenes de la propia LVP. Ha sido producida en español, pero doblada al portugués, de cara al público de Brasil.

Por el momento, ha entrado pisando fuerte, pero, ¿conseguirá los mismos números que los deportes electrónicos fuera de la ficción? Pronto lo descubriremos.

Nickelodeon USA has announced the aweslime news that, following the tremendous success of the first Nickelodeon SlimeFest in the U.S. in June, Nickelodeon's multi-day music festival for kids and families will return in 2019!

Nickelodeon SlimeFest is a multi-day immersive event for kids and families of all ages. Nickelodeon SlimeFest 2018, held on Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10 at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago, Illinois featured musical performances by Grammy-winning artist, DJ and producer Zedd, chart-topper Liam Payne, multi-platinum artist Flo Rida, and Lip Sync Battle Shorties and social media star JoJo Siwa, as well as special appearances by a raft of popular Nickelodeon stars, including Kel Mitchell and Benjamin Flores Jr. (Game Shakers), Riele Downs and Ella Anderson (Henry Danger), Breanna Yde (School of Rock), and Daniella Perkins and Owen Joyner (Knight Squad), as well as character appearances from SpongeBob SquarePants and the Fairly OddParents, plus immersive one-of-a-kind experiences and plenty of the network’s signature green slime - presenting the audience with tons of opportunities to get covered in Nickelodeon's iconic goo!

Nickelodeon's second annual Nickelodeon SlimeFest will once again take place in Chicago, IL (venue TBD) between Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. The first act confirmed to be taking the stage at Nickelodeon SlimeFest 2019 is Nick superstar JoJo Siwa, who will be performing at the event as part of her just announced live concert tour, Nickelodeon’s JoJo Siwa D.R.E.A.M. Nickelodeon 'DIY With Me' Host Sissy Sheridan Selected as Grand Marshall for 2018 Reston Holiday Parade in Virginia

Reston, Virginia - The 28th annual Reston Holiday Parade returns to Reston Town Center on Nov. 23 (Friday) at 11 a.m., bringing a flurry of festive activities for participants!

Sissy Sheridan, a 14-year-old stage and screen actress born and raised in Reston, will act as the event’s grand marshal, leading the parade in a chauffeur-driven convertible.

She is known nationally for her popular children’s series, Chicken Girls and she also hosts the Nickelodeon YouTube series DIY with Me, as well as Netflix’s Maniac, which also stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill.

Until January 2019, Sheridan will appear in Billy Elliot at Signature Theatre in Arlington. After the event at around noon, Sheridan will be available for a meet and greet with fans in Fountain Square.

USA Today Travel named it one of the best parades in 2016 and 2017. It includes Macy’s-style balloons, marching bands, dancers, antique cars, characters, as well as Santa and Mrs. Clause in a horse-drawn carriage. More than 1,400 performers are scheduled to participate in the one-hour, half-mile parade along Market Street. This year, the guest emcees are Angie Goff and Doug Kammerer of NBC News4.
