Nickelodeon France will premiere Knight Squad, Nickelodeon's newest live action comedy series, on Saturday 10th November 2018 at 10:55! Set at a magical school for knights in training, where two mismatched students form an unlikely alliance to protect each other’s secret and pursue their dreams, new episodes of Knight Squad, locally titled L'École des chevaliers will continue to air regularly on Nickelodeon France.


Get ready for an enchanted series full of magic, castles and swords when two mismatched students at Knight School form an unlikely alliance to protect each other's secrets and pursue their dreams to become knights.

There is only one place in the magical land of Astoria where the young and fearless can train to become elite warriors - Knight School! Meet Ciara, the fierce and competitive star student who is hiding a colossal secret - she is the royal princess in disguise! Things only get crazier at school when Arc, a cocky and streetwise outsider, strolls in with a pretty big secret of his own.

This unlikely pair will have to team up if they want to become legendary knights. Picked up for an initial 20 episodes, Knight Squad is created and executive produced by Sean Cunningham and Marc Dworkin, executive producers of The Thundermans, and being produced by Liv and Maddie producers John D. Beck and Ron Hart. Nickelodeon renewed Knight Squad for a 10-episode second season in July 2018, which went into production in late-October 2018.

Knight Squad made its world premiere on Nickelodeon USA in February 2018, and is currently rolling out on Nickelodeon channels and programming blocks globally.

Nickelodeon Names Ramsey Naito as EVP, Animation Production and Development

Oscar-nominated producer to take charge of the network’s animation content across all formats and platforms spanning digital, TV and film.


BURBANK, CA -- Nickelodeon has appointed Oscar-nominated producer Ramsey Naito to the role of Executive Vice President (EVP) of Animation Production and Development, in charge of the network’s animation content across all formats and platforms spanning digital, TV and film. Reporting to newly appointed Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins, Naito will be based in Nickelodeon’s Burbank, CA studio.

“Ramsey is a proven hit-maker and creative leader who has helped bring to life some incredibly imaginative characters for audiences of all ages,” Robbins said in making the announcement. “One of our goals is to exponentially grow our animation business and output on every platform, and I have no doubt that Ramsey will help us get there through a new generation of innovative, creator-driven content.”

In her new role, Naito also will manage the day-to-day operations of Nickelodeon’s animation group, where she will identify new talent and projects to further enrich Nick’s content pipeline. Additionally, she will oversee the network’s key animated franchises, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Loud House.

Naito most recently oversaw production on Paramount Pictures’ upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants movie, "It’s a Wonderful Sponge", slated for 2020. She produced DreamWorks Animation’s Oscar-nominated feature, The Boss Baby, while also earning her a PGA nomination for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures. Prior to DreamWorks Animation, Ramsey worked as a producer for Blue Sky Studios (the studio which produced Nickelodeon's iconic Nicktoons ident in the '90s), at Cartoon Network as Head of Movies, and at Nickelodeon Movies as Vice President of Development & Production.

Her executive and producer credits include: Barnyard (2006), The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004), The Wild Thornberrys Movie (2002), Hey Arnold! The Movie (2002), the Oscar-nominated Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001), Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (2000), and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999).

Naito is a member of Women in Animation and the Producers Guild of America. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art and her Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts.

Chris Viscardi, who formerly was Senior Vice President (SVP) of Animation and Development at Nick, will now move into a producer role for the network, overseeing the creation of feature-length animated content for both Nickelodeon and third-party digital and linear platforms.

The appointment of Naito follows Robbins’ recent hire of longtime close associate Shauna Phelan to the newly created position as SVP, Live-Action Scripted Content, for the Nickelodeon Group.

Viacom Américas Launches Nickelodeon's NOGGIN on TV Alphaville and X-Play in Brazil

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) – Américas has announced the exciting news that they have close agreements to launch NOGGIN on TV Alphaville and X-Play in Brazil! NOGGIN launched on the telecommunications platforms in mid-October 2018, and offers customers access to Nickelodeon's top-ranked video subscription service for preschoolers at no extra charge.


The launch of NOGGIN on the platforms is part of Viacom's international expansion for the top-rated SVoD service, following its launch on Oi, Watch and Net.com in August 2018. With a focus on educational content, NOGGIN brings viewers full-length library episodes of Nickelodeon’s hit preschool series such as As Pistas de Blue (Blue's Clues), Blue's Room, Dora, A Aventureira, Fifi and the Flowertots, Go, Diego, Go!, Max & Ruby, Moose and Zee, Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, Olive the Ostrich, Peter Rabbit, and Robô e Monstro, Super Fofos! (The Wonder Pets!), as well as the recently added episodes of Mutt & Stuff, Team Umizoomi, Rusty Rivets and Rugrats.

NOGGIN is now available in all Latin American countries, following Nickelodeon launching the service - based on the US version - in Latin America in 2015. The service has seen significant growth in the last year, with the number of viewers using the service quadrupling.

Nickelodeon India Promotes a Noise-Free Diwali with New Pro-Social Initiative

The channel undertakes several steps to spread awareness about the harmful effects of noise pollution


MUMBAI: Nickelodeon, India’s leading kids’ entertainment franchise from Viacom18, is churning a new wave of change this Diwali by encouraging kids and adults to have a noise-free Diwali. With this initiative, this year Nickelodeon hopes to spread awareness about importance of noise-free Diwali and also reaches out to some of the most severely affected groups by the noise pollution caused during the festival.

One such group being affected the most owing to the noise of firecrackers is Mumbai Traffic Police. Whilst revellers know the harmful effects of bursting crackers on their environment, seldom do they think about the consequences of their acts on traffic police-men who are on-duty during the festival. They not only affected by the air but also are affected by noise pollution generated by the fire crackers in the midst of an already high decibel noise of traffic. This Diwali, Nicktoon Shiva as a gesture of respect and gratitude to the department, gave away several sweet boxes to these traffic policemen.

Also affected are our little pooches who are highly sensitive to noise and face the brunt of noisy fire crackers! Several such munchkins, who we call family, get lost every year trying to escape from the loud noises of firecrackers and lose a home! To create awareness about the severe effects of noise pollution, Nickelodeon has sent out Earmuffs for pets to not just protect them from the noise pollution, but to stir a conversation and create awareness on the issue.

JoJo Siwa, ecco la teen idol che combatte il bullismo e va pazza per i fiocchi

“Forse non tutti lo sanno, ma ho iniziato a usare YouTube a 5 anni. Facevo video a caso, mi riprendevo mentre ballavo, all’epoca non lo usavo seriamente. Poi, a 12 anni, ho conosciuto una YouTuber a cena, Colleen Ballinger. Mi ha consigliato di usarlo, di produrre, perché tutti conoscevano YouTube. La sera stessa ho creato il mio canale, e da lì è partito tutto”.

A parlare è JoJo Siwa, statunitense, classe 2003. Giovanissima, come tutti i suoi fan, che ormai ne seguono le gesta quotidianamente, tanto che definirla una teen idol non sarebbe solo corretto, ma riduttivo.

Cantante, ballerina, attrice, youtuber e muser, JoJo Siwa è figlia di un’insegnante di danza e, proprio grazie alla sua passione per la danza, ha debuttato in TV nei reality show Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition e Dance Moms. Ora è uno dei volti di punta del canale Nickelodeon (il brand di Viacom International Media Networks Italia per ragazzi e famiglie presente in esclusiva su Sky al canale 605) e in Italia la vedremo presto anche su Super!, il canale in joint venture tra De Agostini Editore e Viacom visibile in chiaro sul digitale terrestre al canale 47.

Incontriamo JoJo a Londra: è fresca di SlimeFest (il festival che si è tenuto dal 20 al 22 Ottobre 2018 all’Arena di Blackpool), sul palco del quale si è esibita per due volte al giorno. Sfoggia vestiti coloratissimi, addobbati con i suoi immancabili fiocchi. Sembra ed è giovanissima, ma parla con una consapevolezza sorprendente, anche di temi non banali, come il bullismo.

“Ero in terza elementare, vivevo in Nebraska. – ci racconta JoJo – C’era una ragazza, che nel mio libro JoJo’s Guide to Sweet Life chiamo Lucy. Era vittima di bullismo. Io ero arrivata l’ultimo semestre e tutti mi dicevano di non parlarle. Lei però con me era sempre carina. Verso la fine dell’anno, organizzarono un grande party a base di gelati. La quantità di gelati che avevi a disposizione, dipendeva dai tuoi voti in matematica. Io devo ammettere che sono molto brava, per cui avevo accesso a tutto. Lucy è una ragazza un po’ diversa, per cui aveva voti molto bassi. Stava in un angolo da sola a piangere. Mi sono detta che non poteva andare bene una cosa così, quindi le ho portato tutti i miei gelati. Lì ho capito che qualcosa doveva cambiare”.

JoJo confessa poi di essere stata vittima di bullismo, ma di sapersela cavare. “Tante persone, invece, non sanno come comportarsi – continua – per questo mi batto”.

Il tema è così caro a JoJo, che la ragazza ha scritto anche una canzone in proposito, Boomerang (“Non mi importano cosa dicono gli altri – canta – tornerò indietro come un boomerang, non lascerò vincere gli haters”). E, in effetti, anche la sua carriera da popstar non è da sottovalutare, considerando che ama scrivere le proprie canzoni e che venera artisti come Gwen Stefani e Lady GaGa, che considera le sue più grandi ispirazioni.

Come se non bastasse, JoJo ha anche fondato una propria linea di fiocchi.

“I fiocchi? Beh li ho sempre indossati, penso da quando sono nata. Non scherzo! – ci rivela – Confesso che più cresco, più i fiocchi diventano grandi. Ho anche una mia linea di fiocchi, che ha un significato più profondo. Se indossi uno dei miei fiocchi, infatti, sei una Siwanator. Il che implica che tu sia gentile, educata e consapevole”.

JoJo Siwa sarà protagonista del Natale di Nickelodoen all’interno dello stunt natalizio, in onda venerdi 21 dicembre con Lip Sync Battle shorties holiday special da lei condotto, mentre venerdi 28 dicembre andrà in onda JoJo Siwa My World.

Su Super! (Canale 47 DTT) il 16 novembre alle ore 20.00 andrà in onda il film Jeremy senza freni con Jace Norman (Thunderman) e JoJo Siwa, mentre il 22 dicembre alle ore 21.15 andrà in onda Lip Sync Battle Holiday Special, condotto da JoJo Siwa.

It’s nearly apocalyptic, the way Nickelodeon star and entrepreneur Jace Norman talks about the transitioning media industry. Lounged on a loveseat in the green room of the Flaunt studio, he says the future of entertainment is in social media, which he believes might be as damaging for creators as it could be for consumers, especially children.

“There are so many false narratives being portrayed, like, ‘This is what life is supposed to be. It’s supposed to be perfect and you’re supposed to have fun all the time,’” he tells me. “And I think, when you’re a kid, and you’re seeing all this, and you’re constantly getting that information like…” he gapes, wide-eyed at an invisible phone in his palm he pretends to scroll through. “I bet it has some effect.”

When I remind Norman that this is the exact sort of attitude people had about television and the radio, he says, “It could be that.” He thinks about it for a moment. “I could be just a cranky old man already,” he adds with a laugh.

Not by any definition, I know. Norman, star of the hit show Henry Danger, co-founder of the company Creator Edge, and budding television producer, is only eighteen years old. He first hit the small screen as part-time superhero sidekick Henry Hart/Kid Danger in 2014, and with four Kids’ Choice Award nominations and one win under its superhero belt, Henry Danger is now on its fifth season.

Before reaching the heights of child-stardom, Norman lived in a rural area in New Mexico, and grew up exploring the outdoors with his brother. His heroes included Albert Einstein and Harrison Ford, the former because the star-to-be related to Einstein’s sense of curiosity as well as his dyslexia; the latter because Norman loves Indiana Jones.

He recalls, “I saw Indiana Jones when I was a little kid, and I was just like, ‘How did they make that? How did they do that? What was the process of actually doing that?’ Because for me, it felt like magic.”

Jump cut to Norman’s family moving to San Diego, from where within a few years, his parents would begin driving to Los Angeles for upwards of two hours to get their son to auditions after school. And after landing a few Disney and Nickelodeon side-roles, Norman was approached by Nickelodeon and thereafter became Kid Danger, donning a red and silver domino mask and ZAP! POW! WHAM!-ing off to solve silly crimes with the superhero Captain Man.

Norman’s position as a comedic child star beloved by children is reminiscent of Cole and Dylan Sprouse’s position during their time on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, or Drake Bell and Josh Peck’s during the height of their eponymous series. The “kid sitcom,” as Norman refers to it, has served as a launching pad for many careers. But he believes that his kind may be endangered. “I would say that Henry Danger is of the last kid sitcoms,” he says, explaining that children are now often fans of more dramatic, single-camera shows like The Flash and Stranger Things, increasingly viewed on streaming services.

Though, that’s just scripted content. Social media is another story. “The whole time I’ve been on Henry Danger I’ve had, like, anxiety about how kids are going to stop watching TV,” he says. “So I thought, ‘I have to do something,’ and I decided to make a company that was in the social media field.”

That would be Creator Edge, a social media branding company that connects influencers and organizations wanting to sell their product. “It’s so easy to scroll past something that you’re not interested in. Most people aren’t interested in ads like this,”—he holds out an invisible product, like a socialite in a selfie brandishing multivitamins you’re not positive they take.

Norman saw that the most successful brands advertising on Instagram created partnerships with their influencers, and showcased their products as something that is a part of the social media stars’ personal aesthetic. That’s what makes followers pay attention. That’s what Creator Edge does.

But what happened to cranky-old-man Norman and his growing disdain for the next phase of media consumption?

“That’s the tough thing,” Norman says. “Social media is the future, but at the same time, it’s super messed up right now. Do I join it, or do I completely rebel against it? There’s been many times where I don’t want to use social media and want to just focus on acting. It’s this constant conflict for me.”

In any case, acting is currently not Norman’s only focus, now that he’s testing out the waters of producing as well. While still working on Henry Danger, he has created two television programs that are now in development, and are, of course, more dramatic, single-camera shows.

The first project, Gaps, taps writers from recent comedy smash Blockers, and is a parody of Norman’s life, following an actor on a kid’s show behind the scenes. Norman would be a star as well as a producer for this project, and as of this interview, he has already shot the pilot and is ready for pitching.

The second show, Get Some, for which Norman would focus on showrunning rather than acting, is about the provocative and messy experiences of social media stars in Los Angeles. The material clearly comes from a personal place, and Norman returns to his criticisms of the social media machine. “It’s all predicated on people selling themselves… It’s very psychologically hard on people to sell themselves on Instagram. You get caught up in this, and it really can destroy you from the inside out.”

This is Jace Norman’s dilemma. He is a creator, he is an actor, he is an entrepreneur, and his insider’s knowledge tells him that the future of media is something of a dark one. So, what is he going to do? What should all of us do, as suckers for Instagram shots of beautiful people doing beautiful things?

From his experience as a child star occasionally overwhelmed with the pressures of his job and people managing his image, Norman gives this: shut everything out and ask what matters.

“To me, what really matters is creating and basically being, I guess,” Norman says. “Basically being your authentic, kind self.”

So, Norman’s authentic, kind self will continue working, on Henry Danger, on his new shows, on Creator Edge, and on a new idea for a subscription box that would deliver stylish pairs of socks to their customer’s door. We might even expect to see Norman promoted to full blown superhero soon, with the way things are going.

Around this time last year, the pop culture fanatics at FYE partnered with Nickelodeon to make the dreams of Rugrats fans come true by releasing a real life Reptar chocolate bar filled with green frosting. It was a fun dose of nostalgia for the fan favorite Nicktoon of children of the ’90s, but it sounds like they may have heard the cries of some fans who were hoping for a more authentic recreation of the cartoon treat.


FYE is releasing a new and improved Reptar bar that is actually in the shape of the mighty Reptar, the dinosaur that Tommy Pickles and his friends were so obsessed with on Rugrats. And the good news is that the candy concoction is still filled with frosting that turns your tongue green. Find out how and when to get it below!

The taste of the Reptar bar may actually be improved too. While the initial Reptar bars were milk chocolate with frosting inside, you’ll notice that these new Reptar bars are actually caramel milk chocolate with peanut crunch. Now the only downside is that the Reptar bar doesn’t come inside of a wrapper that looks like Reptar himself, but we’ll take what we can get.

They've also created a "Reptar on Ice" version of the original bar that features blue frosting inside, which will turn your tongue ice blue!

IDW Games To Release 90s-Nick Themed 'Nickelodeon Splat Attack!' Board Game In February 2019

IDW Games has announced the aweslime news in its Fall 2018 solicitations that the company plans to release Nickelodeon Splat Attack!, its brand-new Nickelodeon board game featuring iconic characters from '90s Nickelodeon, in February 2019!

Update (11/7): IDW Games has announced that, due to a a few issues popping-up with the factory they were using to produce Nickelodeon Splat Attack!, IDW Games moved production to a new factory. However, because of the production delay caused by the move, they are looking at a delivery date that will be around February 2019, instead of the expected delivery in November 2018. IDW are sorry about the delay, but understandably want to make the best product they can and are very happy with this new manufacturer. IDW have also treated fans to a first-look at the dice that players will use to play Nickelodeon Splat Attack!!

Nickelodeon’s Splat Attack! is a fast and frantic food fighting board game for 2 to 4 players, designed by Jonathan Ying (Star Wars Imperial Assault, Doom The Board Game) and featuring characters from Rugrats, Invader Zim, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Wild Thornberrys, Hey Arnold!, CatDog, The Angry Beavers, Rocket Power, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Ren & Stimpy Show, and Rocko’s Modern Life!


In Splat Attack, players will take control of a team of 4 characters, grab a hand of food cards, and load up their team with Cool Points. Cool Points range in value from 0 to 3 points, and can be stolen from your characters when they get hit with food! However, additional Cool Points can be collected by reaching key locations on the game board.


When hit with food, splat tokens must be placed on the defending character. Placing these tokens strategically will be key to your success, as your character’s grid space is limited. Once a character’s grid is fill, the character is splatted and out of the game.

Players that are able to get the last hit in and splat a character, earn a golden Cool Point. Once the last golden Cool Point is taken, the game ends, and all players add up their Cool Points to determine a winner. The game takes roughly around 45-60 minutes to play, and is recommended for ages 14+.


IDW Games announced Nickelodeon’s Splat Attack! at San Diego Comic Con 2017, with the game hitting Kickstarter in May 2018. Every Pledge in IDW Games' Kickstarter campaign includes the Reptar Rampage Expansion, the classic cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and a set of all Stretch Goals!

Prepare for the food fight to end all food fights in an all-star, jam-packed, crossover event featuring Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, and Invader Zim. In Nickelodeon’s Splat Attack!, two to four players select a team and head to the cafeteria to unload their trays! Sling unique food items and roll dice to determine your hits! When getting splattered with food, pull a splat token from a lunch bag and place it on your character’s grid. If your character’s grid is full, then they’re splat’d and out of the game!

Attempt to defeat Reptar by teaming up and splatting him with food, but be careful! Every successful splat causes Reptar to rampage, stomping across the board! If you get stomped on, then Reptar eats your points! The player with the most points at the end of the game wins!
