BURBANK, Calif.–May 22, 2018–Get ready for a summer full of Double Dare, as Nickelodeon sets Monday, June 25, at 8:00 PM (ET/PT) as the premiere date for the iconic game show’s return. Digital creator and actress Liza Koshy has been tapped to host the brand-new version of Double Dare, where a new generation of fans will compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives.

Bringing together new fans and the iconic game show’s millennial audience from the ‘90s, original series host Marc Summers returns to give color commentary on the challenges, lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode.


Said Koshy, “This is a dream that I have been dreaming to live! From watching Double Dare to hosting it!? I am ready for a summer of slime and nose picking.”

Said Summers, “I can’t think of many shows like Double Dare that have the ability to bond people together--those who grew up watching the original series can now pass along their love for this game show to today’s kids. It’s an honor to be a part of this reboot.”

Double Dare features two teams competing to win prizes by answering brain-bending trivia questions, completing messy physical stunts and ultimately facing the legendary obstacle course--the human hamster wheel, the classic gigantic mouth, the wringer, the iconic Double Dare nose and more.


Nickelodeon’s new Double Dare will also spill off of the screen and into the real world this summer, connecting to fans both old and new in a series of forthcoming location-based live experiences. There will be opportunities for fans to play Double Dare in on-the-ground versions at VidCon 2018 in Anaheim, Calif., and all summer long at Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America in Minneapolis.

Double Dare premiered on Oct. 6, 1986, on Nickelodeon, and ran from 1986-1993, making it the network’s longest running game show. Marc Summers served as the show’s original host from 1986-1993. Shortly after its debut, Double Dare became one of the most popular original daily programs on cable television. The series went into syndication in 1988, and was later revived as Super Sloppy Double Dare in 1989. The show also ran on broadcast television as Family Double Dare in 1988, followed by new versions on Nick, including Double Dare 2000.

Double Dare is produced for Nickelodeon by FremantleMedia North America. Marc Summers is Executive Producer. Liza Koshy is Executive Producer. Peter Herschko and Josh Silberman will serve as Executive Producers.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nickelodeon has renewed some of the biggest hits in preschool TV: PAW Patrol, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Rusty Rivets and Top Wing. The renewals--a sixth season of PAW Patrol, a fifth season of Blaze and the Monster Machines, a third season of Rusty Rivets and a second season of Top Wing--are part of the network’s largest preschool content pipeline ever of more than 300 returning hit shows and new series for the 2018-2019 season.

Nickelodeon is currently home to eight of the top 10 preschool shows on all TV, including number-one ranked PAW Patrol, followed by Blaze and the Monster Machines, Rusty Rivets, Shimmer and Shine and Thomas and Friends. Year to date, Nick ranks as the number-one basic cable network for Kids 2-5, Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11.


In the sixth season of PAW Patrol (26 half-hour episodes, produced by Spin Master Entertainment), the heroic pack of pups--Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky, Zuma and Everest--transform into the greatest team of superheroes the world has ever seen--Super PAW. Joined by new superpowered friend Tracker, no danger in Adventure Bay will be a match for the rescue pups’ incredible speed, high-flying or super-strength abilities. PAW Patrol features a curriculum that focuses on citizenship, social skills and problem solving.


Season five of Blaze and the Monster Machines (20 half-hour episodes) takes all terrain to a new level with monster-sized racing adventures. Monster truck Blaze and his eight-year-old driver AJ will travel over land, under the sea and into orbit as Blaze transforms into awesome new vehicles designed to push the limit while helping his friends cross the finish line. The series is the first preschool show on TV to comprehensively cover all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in every episode.


In the third season of Rusty Rivets (26 half-hour episodes, produced by Spin Master Entertainment), Rusty and Ruby go on all-new, larger-than-life adventures as they discover new locations with their amazing robotic dinosaur builds which include an awesome brontosaurus Mobile Rivet Lab, a speedy robotic raptor, and a daredevil robotic pterodactyl. Inspired by the DIY culture of the maker movement, Rusty Rivets helps preschoolers gain confidence and fuel their creativity with a focus on inventing, creating and problem solving.


Season two of Top Wing (26 half-hour episodes, produced by 9 Story Media Group) follow the cadets--Swift, Penny, Rod and Brody—as they graduate to a new level and tackle all-new, action-packed rescues on land, through the sea and in the air. With the help of their upgraded HQ Command Flyer, and brand-new uniforms and vehicles, the pilots will put their new-found rescue skills and teamwork to the test as they help those in need. Top Wing features storylines that help preschoolers build self-confidence, and includes lessons about perseverance and hard work.

Henry Hart's animated exploits as Kid Danger will unfold in Nickelodeon’s newest series, The Adventures of Kid Danger, which made its debut on Nickelodeon Benelux on Friday 18th May 2018 at 18:00 uur on Nickelodeon Netherlands (Nederland) and at 18:45 uur on Nickelodeon Belgium (België; Flanders)! The 10-episode series follows the heroic Kid Danger and Captain Man as they embark on brave new adventures—battling bizarre criminals and super villains with their sharp wit and amazing crime-fighting skills. Locally titled De Avonturen van Kid Danger, new episodes of The Adventures of Kid Danger will continue to air regularly Fridays at 18:00 uur on Nickelodeon Nederland and at 18:45 Nickelodeon België.

Prior to the episode, viewers were treated to the brand-new Henry Danger episode “Blijf kijken voor meer Danger,” when Henry and Ray get a copy of the new Kid Danger and Captain Man cartoon and see that there’s trouble, they must hurry to fix the cartoon before the big premiere party. Olympian Shaun White guest stars as himself.

The half-hour animated series, based on characters from TV’s number one kids’ series Henry Danger, will reveal brand-new areas of the superheroes’ headquarters for the first time, including the Man Cave tube system, which propels the crime fighters into adventure; and the Man Hanger, filled with crime-fighting vehicles and gadgets used on missions.


For the US-English dub of The Adventures of Kid Danger, the original Henry Danger live-action cast continue their roles, now as voice talent, on the brand-new animated series: Jace Norman as “Henry Hart/Kid Danger;” Cooper Barnes as “Ray/Captain Man;” Michael D. Cohen as “Schwoz;” Riele Downs as “Charlotte;” Sean Ryan Fox as “Jasper;” Ella Anderson as “Piper Hart;” and Jeffrey Nicholas Brown as “Mr. Hart.”

In the series premiere, "Popcornmonster,"; when Ray and Henry’s cloning experiment to create two identical pieces of popcorn accidentally creates the Popcorn Monster, it’s up to Captain Man and Kid Danger to take it down. Next in "Droneduel", Ray says he doesn’t want to enter the Swellview Drone Dash because Dr. Minyak always wins, so Schwoz hatches a plan to shrink Kid Danger and have him pilot his own drone.


The Adventures of Kid Danger first found life as a Nickelodeon short-form “motion comic” digital series, which debuted July 2015 in the USA. New episodes of live-action Henry Danger will continue to premiere on Nickelodeon throughout 2018.

Online at nickelodeon.nl and nickelodeon.be, fans can watch the first episode of De Avonturen van Kid Danger, "Popcornmonster / Droneduel" dubbed in Dutch. Fans can also visit Facebook and Instagram to learn more about The Adventures of Kid Danger.

The Adventures of Kid Danger is created and executive produced by hitmaker Dan Schneider (Henry Danger, Game Shakers, iCarly) and produced by Powerhouse Animation, which also produced the short-form series.

The The Adventures of Kid Danger TV series (originally titled The Adventures of Kid Danger and Captain Man) made its world premiere on Friday 19th January 2018 on Nickelodeon USA, and is expected to roll out on Nickelodeon channels and programming blocks globally in 2018.

Nickelodeon Netherlands And Jantje Beton To Hold Buitenspeeldag 2018 On Wednesday 13th June 2018

Nickelodeon Netherlands (Nederland) has announced the exciting news that they have partnered with Jantje Beton, an organisation dedicated to providing youth services, to hold the 11th edition of Buitenspeeldag, Nickelodeon Nederland's localised version of Nickelodeon's "Worldwide Day of Play", on Wednesday 13th June 2018!


For Buitenspeeldag 2018, Nickelodeon and Jantje Beton are inviting everyone to help make the Netherlands one big playground, and to organise and register activities on Nickelodeon and Jantje Beton's giant map, so that thousands of children across the Netherlands can go outside and play, whether in a garden, in a park or at a playground!

On Wednesday 13th June 2018, games will be anything but boring or unsafe. Throughout the Netherlands, streets will be closed and places will be transformed into giant playgrounds so that children can enjoy a day of fun and games with friends!

Nickelodeon and Jantje Beton are calling on municipalities, parents and caregivers, playgrounds, schools, youth clubs, youth organisations and associations to help turn the Netherlands into one of the biggest playgrounds on the planet by organising tons of fun activities for kids! Activities can then be submitted to be placed on Nickelodeon and Jantje Beton's Buitenspeeldag 2018 map at www.jantjebeton.nl/buitenspeeldag! At the time post publishing, more than 750 schools, companies, neighbourhood associations, parents, municipalities and children have reported an activity!



Buitenspelen is super belangrijk, maar wordt steeds minder vanzelfsprekend. Daarom organiseren Jantje Beton en kinderzender Nickelodeon al meer dan 10 jaar de nationale Buitenspeeldag. Tijdens de Buitenspeeldag maken we samen van Nederland één grote speelplek.

Buitenspeeldag 2018 aims to get kids to go outside and play. Studies have found that 1 in 5 children doesn't play outside, or plays outside only one day a week, which is quite alarming. That is why Nickelodeon and Jantje Beton are organising Buitenspeeldag 2018, to help kids experience how massively fun it is to explore the world outside.

Outside is also the place kids can charge up their energy or wear themselves out. Outside play is not only fun, but is also essential for physical, mental and social development. Playing is important for kids, however, it is something that isn't taught enough in the current, performance-oriented society.

The news follows Nickelodeon Belgium (België; Flanders) hosting the Belgium edition of Buitenspeeldag 2018 on Wednesday 18th April 2018. Nickelodeon will be partnering with the Flemish Government again next year to host Buitenspeeldag 2019 on Wednesday 24th April 2018, and are looking for people to organise and register activities!

Wat is de Buitenspeeldag?
De Buitenspeeldag van initiatiefnemers Jantje Beton en Nickelodeon is de grootste buitenspeelactie van Nederland. Tijdens de Buitenspeeldag worden in heel Nederland straten afgesloten en plekken omgetoverd tot speelplek. In 2018 is de Buitenspeeldag op woensdag 13 juni.

Wanneer is het Buitenspeeldag?
In 2018 is de Buitenspeeldag op woensdag 13 juni. Op die dag willen wij van heel Nederland één grote speelplek maken!

Tot wanneer kan ik mijn activiteit aanmelden?
Tot en met woensdag 13 juni is het mogelijk om een activiteit aan te melden. Wil je een gratis 'Stop nooit met spelen' spandoek ontvangen? Meld je activiteit dan snel aan want op=op!

Wat te doen als aanmelden van mijn activiteit niet lukt of als ik mijn aanmelding wil wijzigen?
Mocht het aanmelden op de website niet lukken, of wil je je aanmelding achteraf nog wijzigen, neem dan contact met ons op via buitenspeeldag@jantjebeton.nl

Wat moet ik doen als ik met meerdere organisatoren op dezelfde locatie een activiteit organiseer?
Alleen maar goed. Op het aanmeldformulier kan je bij de omschrijving aangeven dat je met meerdere organisatoren de activiteit organiseert. Door je samen sterk te maken om kinderen buiten te laten spelen, wordt de Buitenspeeldag een nog groter succes. Stem onderling af wie de contactpersoon is en zorg dat een van de organisatoren zich opgeeft.

Geeft het een probleem als er in een gemeente op meerdere locaties een activiteit wordt georganiseerd?
Dit is geen probleem. Er kunnen prima meerdere activiteiten naast elkaar georganiseerd worden.

Met welke regels heb ik te maken?
De regelgeving kan verschillen per gemeente. Bedenk bij elke activiteit die je opzet, welke regelgeving er van toepassing is. Voor een straatactiviteit is een vergunning nodig die je 6 tot 8 weken van tevoren moet aanvragen bij je gemeente.

Vindt de Buitenspeeldag plaats als het regent?
Ja, want ook in de regen kun je leuke spelletjes spelen. De kans bestaat dat geplande activiteiten letterlijk in het water vallen. Bedenk dus altijd een regenalternatief.

Is er budget bij de organisatoren van de Buitenspeeldag om activiteiten te organiseren?
Nee, wie deelneemt aan de Buitenspeeldag is zelf verantwoordelijk voor de kosten van de activiteiten die hij of zij organiseert in het kader van de Buitenspeeldag. Je kunt natuurlijk de middenstand of bedrijven benaderen voor sponsoring. Ook stellen sommige gemeenten en welzijnsorganisaties een bijdrage beschikbaar. Of vraag geld aan bij Jantje Beton voor je speelidee.

Is het mogelijk om de Buitenspeeldag op een andere datum te organiseren?
Op 13 juni willen wij van Nederland de grootste speelplek van Nederland maken. Door je activiteit op 13 juni te organiseren kan je meeprofiteren met de promotie vooraf en de media aandacht voor alle activiteiten op de dag zelf!

Mocht je toch de Buitenspeeldag op een andere datum organiseren.Geef dit dan aan tijdens het invullen van het aanmeldformulier. De afwijkende datum wordt kenbaar gemaakt in de landkaart waar alle Buitenspeeldag activiteiten worden vermeld.

Is de Buitenspeeldag hetzelfde als de Straatspeeldag?
De Straatspeeldag is opgegaan in de Buitenspeeldag. Nickelodeon heeft samen met Jantje Beton de handen ineengeslagen om de jaarlijkse Buitenspeeldag te organiseren.

Ik wil een deel van de straat afzetten. Heb ik daarvoor een vergunning nodig?
Ja, hiervoor moet je ongeveer 6 tot 8 weken van tevoren een vergunning aanvragen bij je gemeente.

Hoe moet ik een vergunning aanvragen bij mijn gemeente?
Kijk op de website van je gemeente voor meer informatie.

Hoe ben ik verzekerd tijdens de Buitenspeeldag?
De verzekering van iedereen die meedoet aan de Buitenspeeldag, van organisator tot deelnemer, is de verantwoordelijkheid van de organisatie van een lokale activiteit. Nick@Nite USA will host the Nickelodeon network premiere of the hit blockbuster comedy The Karate Kid (2010) on Sunday 27th May 2018 at 8:00 P.M. (ET/PT)!


When his mother's career results in them having to move from Detroit to China, 12-year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) finds that he is a stranger in a strange land. Dre feels lost in a world very different from what he knows. Though he knows a little karate, his fighting skills are no match for Cheng (Zhenwei Wang), the school bully. Bullied and beaten up by some fellow students in his school, Dre is rescued by martial-arts master Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), his apartment building’s handyman, who is mourning a devastating loss. Mr. Han takes pity on Dre and agrees to teach him kung fu to defend himself in the hope that Dre will be able to face down Cheng and perhaps win the heart of a pretty classmate named Meiying (Wenwen Han). Training together, teacher and student learn to trust each other, and ultimately form a friendship that heals them both. Also starring Taraji P. Henson (Sister, Sister).

Nickelodeon SLIME CUP is back this June for Season Three, featuring twelve talented teams of two going head-to-head, facing off in the Slime Arena!


To make it to the arena, 12 talented Nick-themed teams of two selected from Nickelodeon's live SLIME CUP try-outs as well as from online video auditions must prove they’ve got the skill, smarts and swag to compete for the most epic honour imaginable, facing off against each other in challenging heats before the top three teams meet in the finals.

SLIME CUP is the slimiest challenge show in Australia and New Zealand, featuring Aussie and Kiwi kids taking on messy challenges. The SLIME CUP represents the crowning glory of kid achievement and every kid wants it - but it ain’t gonna be easy to get! Standing in the way are off-the-scale crazy challenges, SPLATacular spills, and unspeakably OTT tasks guaranteed to get you covered head-to-toe in slime.

The six-episode series will see tricky challenge heats in Episodes One to Three, followed by the sizzling semifinals in Episodes Four and Five. Episode Six will feature the epic finale, where only one team will take home the ultimate crowning glory of being the SLIME CUP champions!

Viacom's SpongeBob Keeps Rights To 'Krusty Krab' Restaurant Name

Aye, aye, captain: the rights to The Krusty Krab, the fast-food establishment featured in Nickelodeon's hit animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, belong to Viacom Inc. and not to a Texas restaurateur hoping to open a seafood chain with that name.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 3-0 on Tuesday (22nd May 2018) that Viacom deserves trademark protection for The Krusty Krab, and that IJR Capital Investments LLC and its owner Javier Ramos cannot use it for their restaurants.

Circuit Judge Priscilla Owen wrote that Viacom proved that diners would likely be confused if IJR used the name The Krusty Krab, the restaurant located in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom where SpongeBob works as a fry cook.


She also said while Viacom had not registered “The Krusty Krab” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the name was important enough to the SpongeBob series to deserve trademark protection, despite not being the title.

Owen said The Krusty Krab has appeared in 166 of 203 SpongeBob episodes since its 1999 premiere on Viacom’s Nickelodeon network, as well as in two feature films.

She said that made it like the Daily Planet, the newspaper that employed Clark Kent in Superman, and the orange General Lee muscle car from The Dukes of Hazzard, both of which received trademark protection in earlier court rulings.

“In the minds of consumers, The Krusty Krab identifies the source of products, which is Viacom, the creator of the SpongeBob SquarePants fictional universe and its inhabitants,” Owen wrote.

A lawyer for IJR and Ramos did not immediately respond to requests for comment by Reuters.

Ramos claimed not to have heard of The Krusty Krab when he began fishing for a name, and chose it after checking Google and finding no restaurants using that name.

Viacom and its lawyers also did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Tuesday’s decision by the New Orleans-based appeals court, which upheld an April 2017 dismissal by U.S. District Judge Gray Miller in Houston.

The case is Viacom International Inc v IJR Capital Investments LLC, 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, No. 17-20334.
