Nickelodeon to Premiere 'Best & Bester' in Latin America and Brazil on August 6

Nickelodeon will premiere the brand new animated comedy series Best & Bester in Latin America (Latinoamérica) and Brazil (Brasil) on Saturday 6th August 2022 at 8 AM (COL) | 9 AM (BR/VEN/CHI)! Following launch, viewers can catch all new episodes regularly on Nick. The series is locally titled Best y Bester in Latin America and Best e Bester in Brazil.


Best and Bester are siblings and best friends obsessed with comparing the best things of all time while
enjoying the power to transform themselves into anything they want, once a day – if only they can figure out what the best thing to be actually is!

Best & Bester (52x11) is a co-production between London-based studio Eye Present and Finnish studio Gigglebug Entertainment. Nickelodeon International acquired the pre-buy rights to the series in February 2020. The deal includes creative editorial input and broadcast commitment from Nickelodeon International, as well as YLE, The Finnish Broadcasting Company, and development funding from Creative Europe, a cultural support program run by the European Union.


“Best & Bester offer both the laughs and the smarts that we think will resonate with our audience,” said Layla Lewis, Senior Vice President (SVP), Global Acquisitions and Content Partnerships, Nickelodeon. “We’re excited to welcome them to the Nick family and bring this comedic duo to our international screens.”


“We love the positive message of this show which is, at its heart, a celebration of diverse opinions and identities. Kids today live in a world that is full of possibilities, when you have a curious mind,” said Teija Rantala, Head of Children’s Programmes at YLE.

“This is great news, the Nickelodeon greenlight for the series now leads us to explore gaming and experiential content which is built into the core of the IP,” said Genevieve Dexter, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eye Present.


Creators Joonas Utti and Anttu Harlin are thrilled to have their latest creation signed with a global kids brand, following their credits on 101 Dalmatian Street and Gigglebug.

“We want to spread joy through animation. To make seriously silly stuff, with a purpose,” said Anttu Harlin, executive producer and co-founder of Gigglebug Entertainment.

Things start to go badly when Todd breaks the first magical rule by touching Shandu's magic wand. Although the wand brings him wonderful powers, it unleashes a demon called Nazrak. Todd must perform the ultimate trick to make it vanish in order to save himself and his mother.

Big Nate: Paramount Plus to Premiere New Episodes on August 6

Paramount+ will premiere more brand new episodes of the streamer's hit CG-animated Original Series Big Nate on August 19, 2022!


Based on the best-selling children’s books and comic strip written and drawn by acclaimed author and cartoonist Lincoln Peirce, Paramount+’s Big Nate features brand-new original storylines centered on Nate, a sixth-grade kid who has a never-ending need to prove his awesomeness to the world.

Whether he’s dealing with disasters at home or detention at school, Nate Wright is no stranger to a challenge. Luckily, he’s able to express himself through the world of cartoons that he creates. Charming, mischievous and a magnet for misadventure, Nate always finds a way to turn trouble into fun.


The series make its debut exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Australia, and will premiere later this month in the U.K. and Ireland. The first eight episodes are available in the U.S. and Canada. Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, Big Nate follows a precocious 11-year-old boy named Nate and his best friends as they navigate sixth grade with humor and style.

The Nickelodeon Animation series returns later this month with 9 all-new episodes following the continued misadventures of Nate as he pursues his dreams to become a singer, save a pregnant lizard, and take spring break to the next level; 10 more episodes ordered for previously announced Season 2, coming in 2023.

'Big Nate' returns to Paramount+ on August 19 with 9 all-new episodes.

Paramount+ has unveiled an exclusive teaser trailer for the return of Big Nate from Nickelodeon Animation, with nine all-new episodes hitting the streamer on August 19. The series is based on the best-selling children’s books and comic strip written and illustrated by acclaimed author and cartoonist Lincoln Peirce.

In the new episodes, our young hero, Nate (hero…?), is back with his continued (mis)adventures as he follows his dream to become a singer, save a pregnant lizard, and take spring break to the next level. What else should a tween aspire to?

The CG animated series features the exploits of Nate, a sixth-grade kid who has a never-ending need to prove his awesomeness to the world. Whether dealing with disasters at home or detention at school, Nate Wright is no stranger to a challenge. Luckily, he’s able to express himself through the world of cartoons that he creates. Charming, mischievous, and a magnet for misadventure, Nate always finds a way to turn trouble into fun.

In addition to this month’s new episodes, 10 more episodes have been ordered for the previously announced second season, slated for 2023. In the show’s 20-episode second season, the hilarious and heart-filled hijinks that define the series will dive deeper into the backstories of Nate’s friends, as well as introduce Nate’s grandparents.

Episode 109: “Best Laid Cell Plans” - When Francis gets an emergency cell phone, the gang makes major plans for it. But even the best-laid cell plans can go wrong. What ensues is a viral video, an investigation, an unlikely duo, and the strangest tea party ever.

Episode 110: “Game Over” - When Nate finds himself accidentally responsible for the cancellation of an entire species, he must save a pregnant lizard from the clutches of P.S. 38’s latest home EC teacher, Mr. Grey, who Dee Dee suspects is up to no good.

Episode 111: “‘Til Death Do We Rock” - Nate is asked to give up the center stage as the lead singer of ‘Fear the Mollusk’ to his sworn enemy, but he won’t give up that easily and neither will Martin, who tries to impress Nate with a job but instead gets caught in a lie.

Episode 112: “Randy’s Mom Has Got it Going On” (Nasim Pedrad guest stars as Barbara) - Martin's desire to dive into a relationship with Randy's mom blinds him to countless red flags, while Nate struggles to co-exist with the maniacal Randy who has now infiltrated every aspect of Nate's life.

Episode 113: “Ghostly Coven of Man Witches” (Halloween Special) - To dodge a science test, Nate concocts a plan to shut down P.S. 38 by pretending that it’s haunted. As he and his friends set the stage, they get locked in the school with a coven of man witches.

Episode 114: “The Future is Fuzzy” - Nate hopes to spin a newfound gift into a bright future but soon discovers there’s no fast track to success. Meanwhile, Dee Dee worries a new actress is stealing her spotlight and sets out to obliterate her.

Episode 115: “Big Freeze” (Winter Special) - Nate and Team Awesome face Jefferson in the annual ‘Big Freeze’ snow sculpture competition. Nate has his sights set on victory, but when a personal vendetta gets in the way, glory and a grand prize for P.S. 38 are on the line.

Episode 116: “The Curse of the Applewhites” (Winter Special) - Nate’s gym grade is on thin ice and the only thing that can save him from the humiliation of repeating 6th-grade gym is something he swore to hate for eternity: figure skating. Not to mention, an ancient curse on Chad’s family.

Episode 117: “The Thing That Wouldn’t Leave” – It’s Spring Break and Nate joins Francis on vacation!  There he discovers the Pope Family Schedule, aka an opportunity to pencil in AWESOMENESS. But not everyone is on board, especially when Nate’s alter ego, Nathaniel, emerges.

Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures Chief Buys Historic Montecito Estate

Though the Carpinteria-adjacent ranch he bought from Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi less than three years ago only just popped up for sale with a $13.5 million ask, veteran Hollywood producer Brian Robbins has already gone out and picked up a new residence, settling on a historic home in the heart of Montecito’s Golden Quadrangle.

Records show the Paramount and Nickelodeon CEO paid $17 million for the Spanish Colonial Revival-style digs, well under its $20 million ask. Built way back in the late 1920s by noted architects George Washington Smith and Lutah Riggs, and formerly known as “Las Armas,” the residence was previously owned for almost six decades by the late actress/model Suzy Parker and her husband, actor Bradford Dillman.

The premises have since undergone an extensive three-year restoration by architect Marc Appleton and designer Martin Logé. There are many original details — vintage light fixtures, tile floors, wood-beam ceilings and 16th-century carved wood doors — paired with modern amenities like an elevator and a Savant smart-home system. Numerous French doors along the lower level flow out to an expansive brick terrace ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining.

Tucked away on a 1.8-acre parcel of land, and fronted by a spacious motorcourt flanked by an inverted-arch wall bolstered by decorative antique statues, the white stucco and terracotta-roof structure is adorned with black shutters. Once inside, over 8,700 square feet of living space on two levels is introduced via a light-filled foyer punctuated by a soaring groin-vaulted ceiling and curving wrought-iron staircase.

Standing out on the main level is a living/media room displaying a fireplace, built-in bookshelves and a hidden doorway that opens to reveal a 4,500-bottle wine cellar. Other highlights include an updated kitchen outfitted with an eat-in island, top-tier stainless appliances, a butler’s pantry and adjoining breakfast nook, along with a fireside dining room and wet bar-equipped lounge area.

The upper level hosts six bedrooms, including a sizable master retreat sporting a custom walk-in closet and separate sitting room with fireplace, plus a luxe bath boasting dual vanities, a soaking tub and glass-encased shower. A guest bedroom with bath also can be found next to an attached two-car garage.

Heading outdoors, you’ll find lushly manicured grounds laced with stone fruit trees, a 15-variety citrus grove and raised garden beds, and hosting an 88-foot pool and spa with a Baja shelf and sprawling sundeck — all overlooking picturesque views of the Santa Ynez Mountains.

In addition to his Santa Barbara properties, Robbins maintains a $16 million mansion in Beverly Hills’ Trousdale Estates neighborhood. The Montecito listing was held by the Riskin Partners Estate Group of Village Properties; Branden and Rayni Williams of the Williams & Williams Estates Group at The Beverly Hills Estates repped the buyer.

Sony to Release New ‘Garfield’ Movie in February 2024

The new fully-CG-animated Garfield movie will be serving up saucy feline funnies in theaters in under two years, with the news that global distributor (exc. China) Sony Pictures has set a post-Valentine’s date of February 16, 2024.

The pic will voice star Jurassic World‘s Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation, The LEGO Movie, Onward, Untitled Super Mario Bros. Movie) as Garfield and screen legend Samuel L. Jackson (Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Incredibles) as Garfield’s father, Vic, a new character.

The movie is based on the classic comic strip by Jim Davis, who sold the rights to financer/producer Alcon Entertainment (Blade Runner: Black Lotus) and will serve as executive producer. DNEG (Ron’s Gone Wrong) is producing the animation.


Mark Dindal is directing Garfield from a script by his The Emperor’s New Groove partner David Reynolds. Bridget McMeel and Craig Sost are exec producers alongside Davis; producers are John Cohen and Steven P. Wegner, Alcon’s Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, and DNEG Animation’s CEO Namit Malhotra and President Tom Jacomb.

Paramount+ Joins The Roku Channel’s Premium Subscriptions Lineup, Bringing a Mountain of Entertainment to Streamers

Users can subscribe to Paramount's ad-supported Essential Plan or ad-free Premium Plan within The Roku Channel

Live sports from the most popular sports leagues and properties arrive in Premium Subscriptions just in time for fall sports season 


San Jose, Calif. – August 3, 2022: Today Roku, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROKU) announced that Paramount+ will launch as a Premium Subscription within The Roku Channel later this month. The launch will make  Paramount+‘s  critically acclaimed originals, hit movies, a world class library of popular series, 24/7 news and marquee sports, accessible directly to consumers within The Roku Channel.  

Users can subscribe to Paramount+'s ad-supported Essential Plan ($4.99 monthly) or the Paramount+ ad-free Premium Plan ($9.99 monthly) on The Roku Channel. 

Within the Paramount+ experience on Premium Subscriptions, Roku has also created a dedicated Live TV Guide for all Paramount+ live content, marking the first time a dedicated programming guide for a Premium Subscription partner has been created. Through the dedicated Live TV Guide consumers will be able to access Paramount+’s live content all in one place. This includes marquee sports, such as THE NFL ON CBS and UEFA, as well as breaking news from CBS News Network and the latest in entertainment news from Entertainment Tonight.  Premium subscribers also have access to their local live CBS station, which includes the live stream of must-watch events and specials. The addition of Paramount+ to The Roku Channel will also mark the first time that live sports content will be available for streamers within Premium Subscriptions.

Paramount+ finds the chalk of Chalk-Chalk-ChalkZone!


Update (8/4) - After being unavailable for a few days, ChalkZone is back on Paramount+!

Paramount+ recently removed all episodes of Nickelodeon's popular animated series ChalkZone from its programming library.

At the moment it's currently unknown why the series was removed from the platform, however, it is being speculated that the show's removal could be due to a licensing issue.

ChalkZone was created by Bill Burnett and Larry Huber and initially debuted as part of Oh Yeah! Cartoons. The full series premiered on March 22nd, 2002 and ran for 40 episodes over four seasons.

Nickelodeon Italy Premieres 'Best & Bester'

Nickelodeon Italy (Italia) will premiere the brand new animated comedy series Best & Bester on Monday 4th July 2022 at 15:30! Following launch, viewers can catch all new episodes everyday at 15:30 on Nick. The series will also stream on NOW.


Best and Bester are siblings and best friends obsessed with comparing the best things of all time while
enjoying the power to transform themselves into anything they want, once a day – if only they can figure out what the best thing to be actually is!

Best & Bester (52x11) is a co-production between London-based studio Eye Present and Finnish studio Gigglebug Entertainment. Nickelodeon International acquired the pre-buy rights to the series in February 2020. The deal includes creative editorial input and broadcast commitment from Nickelodeon International, as well as YLE, The Finnish Broadcasting Company, and development funding from Creative Europe, a cultural support program run by the European Union.

“Best & Bester offer both the laughs and the smarts that we think will resonate with our audience,” said Layla Lewis, Senior Vice President (SVP), Global Acquisitions and Content Partnerships, Nickelodeon. “We’re excited to welcome them to the Nick family and bring this comedic duo to our international screens.”

Nickelodeon Sonic India Premieres 'The Smurfs'

Blue and small, and standing only three apples tall, The Smurfs are set to make their debut on Nickelodeon Sonic in India on Monday 13th June 2022, airing weekdays at 11:30am! The CG-animated series follows the beloved characters embarking upon rousing adventures.


The original series marks the return of the globally renowned characters to television for the first time in nearly 40 years and follows Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty, Clumsy and the other inhabitants of Smurf Village on all-new adventures, packed with humor, heart and high-stakes action. In the premiere episode, “Smurf-Fu,” when Smurfette rescues Brainy from a giant snake, the other Smurfs ask her to teach them “Smurf-Fu.” Next in, “Diaper Daddy,” when everyone is tired of changing Baby’s diapers, Handy decides to invent a robot that will do the job.


The voice cast pushing the charm and absurdity of the original comics to even greater heights in the U.S.-English dub includes: David Freeman (7 Promises) as Papa Smurf, the father figure keeping the other Smurfs in line; Berangere McNeese (Matriochkas) as Smurfette, a curious Smurf who is always ready to take part in new adventures; Lenny Mark Irons (No Man’s Land) as Gargamel, a conniving human wizard with a bottomless thirst to capture Smurfs; Youssef El Kaoukibi (NRJ Belgium) as Brainy, who considers himself the smartest of the bunch; and Catherine Hershey (Boundary Games) as Willow, the brave and wise matriarch of a new tribe of girl Smurfs.


Nickelodeon, LAFIG Belgium and IMPS announced a second season (26 episodes) pickup of the original CG-animated The Smurfs television series earlier this year. The all-new season will continue to follow the Smurfs on a variety of adventures, including time traveling, inventing a magic camera, accidental body swapping, and more. No release date was shared.

Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Pictures also announced at the same time that they have formed a deal with LAFIG Belgium and IMPS to produce multiple feature films based on The Smurfs, the iconic characters and stories created by Belgian artist Pierre Culliford, also known as Peyo. The first project under the new partnership is an animated musical feature film set to begin production in 2022 with a planned release on December 20, 2024.

The Smurfs CG-animated series acquisition is overseen by Layla Lewis, Senior Vice President, Global Acquisitions and Content Partnerships and Dana Cluverius, Senior Vice President, Current Series Animation for Nickelodeon.

The brand-new series underscores Nickelodeon’s strategy to be the home of the biggest franchises kids and families love. The Smurfs expands Nickelodeon’s growing portfolio of influential properties that already includes SpongeBob SquarePants, The Patrick Star Show, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, PAW Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Blue’s Clues & You!, the all-new animated Star Trek: Prodigy series and the Transformers co-production, EarthSpark.

LONDON – August 8, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced casting for its upcoming original U.K. drama series, SEXY BEAST, which commenced production, filming on location in Liverpool.

James McArdle (“Mare of Easttown,” “Angels in America”) leads the cast as Gal Dove and Emun Elliott (“The Rig,” “The Gold”) stars as Don Logan – the duo are best friends and small-town thieves, living the good life in ‘90s East London. Sarah Greene (“Dublin Murders,” “Normal People”) is Deedee, a captivating adult film star, who has the potential to turn Gal’s whole life upside down. Stephen Moyer (“Shots Fired,” “True Blood”) is Teddy Bass, a rising name in the gangster world, who Gal and Don are offered the chance to work with on a high-profile heist. Tamsin Greig (“Episodes,” “Friday Night Dinner”) is Don’s stern and formidable older sister Cecilia. The prequel series will explore Gal and Don’s complicated relationship as Gal finds himself descending into the seductive madness of the London criminal world during the vibrant and volatile 1990s, while falling in love with DeeDee.

Produced by Chapter One Pictures, Anonymous Content and VIS, the international studio division of Paramount Global. The series is written by showrunner and executive producer Michael Caleo (“The Family,” “The Sopranos”) and the opening episodes are directed by Daniel O’Hara (“Brassic”), who also serves as executive producer. August 5, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced that the return of the hit reality competition series INK MASTER will premiere exclusively on the service Wednesday, Sept. 7 and roll out internationally where the service is available. Additionally, it was also announced that Joel Madden, lead vocalist for the pop/punk band Good Charlotte and co-founder of music companies Veeps and MDDN, will join the series as host, with former INK MASTER winner Ryan Ashley, celebrity tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado and industry veteran Ami James serving as judges.

In the new season of INK MASTER, hosted by artist, entrepreneur and culture enthusiast Madden, legendary fan-favorite artists return to compete in the ultimate tattoo competition. The artists will battle it out and face some of the biggest, most exciting and epic challenges seen in the history of the competition, all for the biggest grand prize yet: $250,000 and the title of “Ink Master.”

From MTV Entertainment Studios and Truly Original, the 10-episode season also introduces three new judges: Ryan Ashley, the first female tattoo artist to win INK MASTER (season eight); Nikko Hurtado, one of the world’s best color realism artists; and Ami James, a well-known Japanese tattoo specialist and entrepreneur with almost 30 years of experience. Former host Dave Navarro returns to the series as the “Master of Chaos,” introducing crazy twists and game-changing bombs to the competition.

The legends will need to prove they possess the high level skills that sets an Ink Master apart: composition, precision, color theory, finesse, stamina and endurance. With stakes higher than they’ve ever been, a single misstep could send them home and, in the end, only one artist will walk away with the title.

INK MASTER is executive produced by Glenda Hersh, Steven Weinstock and Andrea Richter. Benjamin Hurvitz, Jessica Zalkind and Tim Palazzola serve as executive producers and Donny Hugo Herran as executive in charge of production for MTV Entertainment Studios.

Nickelodeon Announces Kids' Choice Awards México 2022 Nominations

Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) has announced the finalists of Kids' Choice Awards México 2022!


Kids' Choice Awards is the world's largest children's and teen awards, and celebrates kids’ favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more. Kids' Choice Awards México 2022 is the 13th annual local edition of Nick's Kids' Choice Awards slimefest tentpole in Mexico!

Over the past month, NickHeads in Mexico have cast votes for their favourites to become finalists in each category, with the top four (out of eight) most voted for nominees in each of the voting categories going onto the final stage of voting. Nickelodeon Latinoamérica has also added an extra category for the second stage of voting: Activista Fav, recognising content creators who are committed to social causes. In addition, for the first time, the Kids' Choice Awards also includes two categories to recognise talent from Argentina and Chile.

Fans across México are now able to vote for their favourites from the worlds of entertainment and social media across 22 voting categories online at https://www.kcamexico.com and on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags below. Fans can vote as many times as they wish to support their favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more!

Voting for the final stage of KCA México 2022 opened on Monday 25th July 2022 and will close at 23:59 on Friday 19th August 2022. The winners of Kids' Choice Awards México 2022 will be announced when Nickelodeon returns to the Ciudad de México for a star and slime-studded ceremony at the Auditorio Nacional in Ciudad de México, which will air on Nickelodeon on Tuesday 30th August 2022 at 8:00 pm, simulcast on YouTube and Pluto TV.

With the exception of the international or mixed categories, only individuals, programs, films, public figures and games originating from a Spanish-speaking country and, where applicable, features more than 51% of it's dialogue in Spanish were eligible to be nominated in Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards México 2022.

The Pro-social blimp will be awarded to the organization and/or the individual whose work is focused on the well-being of children within the Mexican territory (and may also have activities within the territory of other countries); and the Leyenda award will be given to the artist of any Latin American nationality who has a remarkable career in the children's entertainment industry. The prize will be awarded in recognition of their artistic career.

¡Llegó la hora de elegir a los ganadores de los Kids’ Choice Awards México 2022 (#KCAMexico)! Nickelodeon Latinoamérica reveló hoy la lista de nominados para la 13° entrega del show. Los KCA regresan al Auditorio Nacional en la Ciudad de México y se podrán ver a través de Nickelodeon Latinoamérica el martes 30 de agosto a las 8:00 pm y en simultáneo por YouTube y Pluto TV.

Danna Paola, Sebastián Yatra, Kenia Os, Domelipa y María Becerra son algunos de los nominados a los Kids’ Choice Awards México 2022. Durante esta entrega se premiarán a ganadores de 22 categorías, quienes buscarán hacerse del codiciado blimp naranja al recibir el reconocimiento de los fans. Además, por primera vez, la premiación favorita de los niños también incluye dos categorías en reconocimiento al talento de Argentina y Chile con las categorías Artista Argentin@ y Celebridad Chilena. 

Las votaciones ya están abiertas hasta el 19 de agosto, y a partir de esta fase, se suma una nueva categoría “Activista Fav” en reconocimiento a los creadores de contenido que están comprometidos a causas sociales.
