Colors Tamil to Launch ‘Nick Neram’ Nickelodeon Programming Block in India

India - The true definition of happiness is in finishing classes and tuning in to watch your favourite Nicktoons. Colors Tamil, the fastest growing GEC of Tamil Nadu, is all set to entice its young viewers’ with the launch of ‘Nick Neram’, a kids’ special segment, from the house of Nickelodeon!

Rudra: Boom Chik Chik Boom

As a part of this special initiative, Colors Tamil will air Golmaal Jr and Rudra: Boom Chik Chik Boom, two brand new animated series every Monday to Friday at 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM respectively, starting 24th January, 2022.

In an endeavour to establish a deeper relationship through its home-grown content, the Nickelodeon franchise in association with Colors Tamil will engage viewers in a language of their choice. Created by prominent Bollywood director Rohit Shetty, Golmaal Jr. is inspired by his own comedy film series, Golmaal.

Meanwhile, premised on the fictional magical cities Sun City and Kaal City, Rudra: Boom Chik Chik Boom narrates the story of a 9-year-old magician, who is learning to harness his supernatural powers.

Commenting on the new shows, Rajaraman S, Business Head, Colors Tamil, said, “After the success of our current shows, we are elated to introduce two animated series to our lineup. While all our fiction and non-fiction shows have been popular among the Tamil viewers, we are now confident that Nick Neram will help us gain prominence among children as well.

“We are certain that this fresh, relevant, localized and compelling segment is another landmark for Colors Tamil in its journey to become the most preferred family entertainment channel in the Tamil entertainment space,” Rajaraman  said.

Speaking on synergising its content for Tamil viewers, Anu Sikka, Head, Creative, Content and Research, Kids TV Network, Viacom18, said, “At Nickelodeon, it has always been our endeavour to make our stories and characters to travel and reach out to a wider audience set. Tamil is an important market for our kids cluster and Colors Tamil’s popularity will help us establish a deeper relationship with our existing viewers while attracting new viewers with home-grown content that is relatable.

“We are excited on this integration with Colors Tamil and will continue to synergise and explore similar possibilities going forward,” Sikka said.


Nickelodeon India and Colors Tamil are owned and operated by Viacom18, a joint venture operation between TV18 and ViacomCBS.

Nickelodeon Teen Can Keep Channel Name in France

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) can continue to broadcast its teen and tween focussed channel under the name Nickelodeon Teen instead of TeenNick, the name of the channel stated on its broadcast license, in France, the Czech Radio and Television Council (RRTV) has ruled. The request was made by Prague-based ViacomCBS Networks International Czech s.r.o.  Nickelodeon Teen France is a sub-feed of TeenNick Comm, which broadcasts in France, Hungary and Poland.

Společnost ViacomCBS Network International může na francouzském trhu nabízet dětský kanál pod názvem Nickelodeon Teen místo původně licencovaného kanálu TeenNick. Rozhodl o tom český regulátor médií na žádost vysílatele.

Rada pro rozhlasové a televizní vysílání (RRTV) na svém letošním prvním zasedání konaného v tomto týdnu vyhověla požadavkům pražské společnosti ViacomCBS Network International Czech. Ta 28.12.2021 požádala o výmaz Francie ze satelitní licence pro program TeenNick.

Regulátor zároveň vyhověl dalšímu požadavku provozovatele a to rozšíření satelitní licence programu Nickelodeon Teen o území Francie, na kterém bude program vysílán s odlišným označeném a logem programu podle žádosti ze dne 28. prosince 2021.

Edward Venero Readies 'RUGRATSxVNRO' Rugrats Fashion Collection

ViacomCBS Consumer Products Americas and renowned Peruvian designer Edward Venero are collaborating to develop a very special fashion collection inspired Nickelodeon's endearing animated series Rugrats, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary!


In collaboration with Nickelodeon Latin America, the new RUGRATSxVNRO line is full of colour and Peruvian motifs inspired by the beloved characters of the series: Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Phil and Lil, as well as the emblematic Nazca Lines, an attraction and symbol of Peruvian culture. The 45-piece collection includes t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, bandanas, swimwear and for the first time, an exclusive line for pets. Each garment in the collection is unique and exclusive. The collaboration can be found at VNRO's pop-up store, its e-commerce store and Falabella Jockey Plaza and Plaza San Miguel + e-commerce shops.

"All the garments in this collection have been made with 100% Peruvian material. It is a local production that meets all the quality standards for a very special collaboration for the 30th anniversary of Rugrats," Venero said.

The RUGRATSXVNRO fashion show will be filmed at the five-star Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya. This is the first Nickelodeon resort in Mexico and the second in Latin America, and features an infinity pool on the terraces of all its suites, a spectacular ocean view, six Gourmet Inclusive® restaurants, famous slime baths, as well as the Aqua Nick® water park that offers the unique experience of living with the characters of the incredible world of Nickelodeon. Following the taping, the fashion show will be broadcast on Pluto TV's Fashion Box channel on Monday, December 13.

The news follows Venero launching a fashion collection inspired SpongeBob SquarePants in October 2019, as well as a recently debuted MTV collection.

The news also comes as Nickelodeon launches the network's brand new CG-animated Rugrats series.

Edward Venero presenta VNRO X Rugrats en Falabella Perú


El diseñador peruano Edward Venero presenta VNRO X Rugrats en Perú. Venero, repite colaboración con Nickelodeon, esta vez en la celebración de los 30 años del programa Rugrats. La colección se encuentra disponible únicamente en Falabella. 

Una treintena de prendas de vestir entre camisetas, crop tops, sacos y pañuelos componen la colección que logró reunir todos los elementos característicos del clásico programa infantil nacido en los 90. La totalidad de las prendas se encuentran disponibles en la tienda en línea de Falabella en Perú, con envíos a todo el país, así como en su tienda física del distrito de San Miguel, en Lima. 

La democratización de la moda se encuentra con el diseño, las licencias, la nostalgia de los años 90 y la mano de obra 100 % hecha en Perú. Las prendas de edición limitada tienen precios que van desde los 69 y 239 soles (unos 17 a 59 dólares) y son realizadas con diferentes técnicas de intervención, desde estampación hasta bordados.

Recientemente, el diseñador peruano colaboró con Nickelodeon en el lanzamiento de una colección especial de Bob Esponja. 

Adicionalmente, Edward Venero ha colaborado con gigantes como Sanrio y MTV para la creación de colecciones y cápsulas especiales. Venero es uno de los diseñadores modernos más reconocidos del país por su universo creativo, estética e interpretación de la cultura y la herencia local.

El universo de color de Edward Venero y la historia sobre su colección con los ‘Rugrats’

El diseñador peruano da rienda suelta a su creatividad con una colección inspirada en una de las series animadas más famosas de los ‘90: “Rugrats, aventuras en pañales”.

Las aventuras de Tommy, Carlitos, Angélica, Fili y Lili nos enseñaron a soñar en grande. Y no particularmente a los niños de los noventa, pues es un hecho que caló en más de una generación. Cuando a Edward Venero (@vnro) le hablaron sobre configurar una colección inspirada en estos entrañables personajes (a finales del 2020), no dudó ni un segundo en decir que sí.

“No solo es una de mis series favoritas. Es, además, uno de los primeros espacios en los que realmente se trató temas por los que hoy estamos luchando: el poder femenino, los roles paritarios en el hogar y que los niños también pueden llorar”, confiesa para Somos el diseñador cusqueño.

Bajo el slogan “Si a las estrellas, no a los meteoritos”, esta propuesta combina a la perfección el colorido universo de los Rugrats con la cultura local a partir del escenario de las Líneas de Nazca, tándem que el modisto ha aplicado en colecciones anteriores: con Bob Esponja incluyó figuras como la piedra de doce ángulos y la alpaca; mientras que la de Sanrio fusionó los quipus de la cultura inca con el Mizuhiki, antiguo arte japonés de atado de cordones.

Esta, es una de las colecciones más completas de Venero, pues además de repetir el plato con opciones de ropa de baño como lo hizo en el 2019, el diseñador ha decidido innovar con piezas más femeninas, enriqueciendo su propuesta inicialmente genderless. “Sí a las estrellas, no a los meteoritos es una frase poética, si lo piensas bien. Y es que, en medio de esta pandemia, todos somos estrellas, con fortaleza para seguir sobreviviendo y brillando en el espacio”, concluye.

Mundo de fantasía
Edward Venero es el diseñador peruano pionero en la configuración de colecciones inspiradas en clásicos de la tv. El 2019 supuso un antes y después en su carrera, luego de sorprender con piezas inspiradas en uno de los personajes ícono de Nickelodeon: Bob Esponja. Su siguiente musa fue la gatita más querida, Hello Kitty.

Paramount Moves Forward Release of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Chapter' Movie

Paramount Pictures has slightly moved forward the release date of the studio's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! Originally slated for August 11, 2023, the theatrical, currently titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Chapter, will now be released in theaters on August 7, 2023!


Additionally, a new animated Transformers film, not thought to be related to Nickelodeon's upcoming Transformers series, will also debut on July 19, 2024.

Erik Davis from Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes shared the new Paramount Pictures release dates on Twitter.

The world’s most fearsome fighting team began as a joke in 1983, but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have had serious success ever since. Countless comic books, television shows, films, and video games have shown the group’s lasting appeal. So it’s no surprise they’re gearing up for another big screen adventure. Nickelodeon is teaming up with Seth Rogen on an all-new CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Nickelodeon first announced it is partnering with Point Grey Pictures’ Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver to develop a new CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film in June 2020. It will also be Nickelodeon Animation Studio’s first-ever CG theatrical release. Jeff Rowe (Gravity Falls, Connected, Disenchantment) will direct. Brendan O’Brian (Neighbors, Sorority Rising) will write the script. Nickelodeon’s Executive Vice President Ramsey Naito will lead the production for Nickelodeon, alongside Point Grey Pictures’s Josh Fagen. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film globally.

“Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property,” said Brian Robbins, President, Kids & Family for ViacomCBS, in a statement.

Plot details for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remain under wraps, but Rogen previously revealed that the film will use the "teenage" part of the title as the "jumping off point for the film."

"As a lifelong fan of Ninja Turtles, weirdly the 'Teenage' part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was always the part that stuck out to me the most. And as someone who loves teenage movies, and who’s made a lot of teenage movies, and who literally got their start in their entire profession by writing a teenage movie, the idea of kind of honing in on that element was really exciting to us. I mean, not disregarding the rest, but really using that as kind of a jumping off point for the film."

This is the most recent heroes in a half shell project from Nickelodeon. The network debuted the 2D-animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2018. The network is also working with Netflix on an original animated 2D film based on that most recent series. Season one of Rise of the TMNT is currently streaming on Paramount+.

This is not entirely new ground for Leo, Donatello, Mikey, and Raph. Nickelodeon previously produced a CG-animated series that debuted in 2012. And Warner Bros. also produced a CG-animated feature film. TMNT, whose cast included Chris Evans as Casey Jones. That one released in 2007.

In addition to the CG-animated TMNT film, Colin Jost (Saturday Night Live) and his brother Casey (Impractical Jokers) are reportedly penning a new live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie for Paramount.

And we’re sure this won’t be the group’s last big screen foray. That’s one heck of a legacy for superheroes who began as a joke.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--Dec. 20, 2021--Nickelodeon’s new live-action buddy comedy series Warped! is set to premiere on Monday, Jan. 31, at 6:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on YTV. The show follows two employees of a popular comic book shop, Warped!, who learn to embrace their differences, become best friends and set off to create the world’s greatest graphic novel.

In Warped!, Milo (Anton Starkman), the beloved head geek at a popular strip-mall comic book shop, Warped!, finds his world disrupted when his boss hires a new employee. With the quirky and excitable Ruby (Kate Godfrey, All That) now on the payroll, the two form an unlikely alliance to create the world’s greatest graphic novel.  Joining them in their adventures are Darby (Ariana Molkara, Septembers of Shiraz), a smart and fashion-forward friend who is always there to lend a hand, and Hurley (Christopher Martinez, Timmy Failure), a neighboring pizza shop employee who spends his time coming up with brilliant culinary creations.


Warped! is created, written and executive produced by Kevin Kopelow & Heath Seifert (All That, Good Burger) with Kevin Kay (All That, Lip Sync Battle Shorties) serving as executive producer.  Jeny Quine (Cousins For Life, The Thundermans) also serves as executive producer.  The pilot is directed and executive produced by Jonathan Judge (A Loud House Christmas, All That, Punky Brewster).  Production is overseen for Nickelodeon by Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan, Co-Heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. Bryan Schwartz serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for Warped!.

Warped! made its world premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Thursday, January 20.

Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Nickelodeon Releases New Mobile Game on Apple Arcade

Nickelodeon is set to release Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis, a brand new family-friendly mobile game that brings together characters from every corner of the Nickelodeon Universe to compete in a tennis tournament on Apple Arcade, Apple's subscription-based gaming service, very soon!

Update (1/14/22) - Apple Arcade will release Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis on January 21!


Nickelodeon characters featured in the game include SpongeBob SquarePants, Garfield, retro Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Angelica from classic Rugrats, CatDog, Arnold and Helga from Hey Arnold!, Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life, Invader ZIM, and Danny Phantom.


A multiplayer mode pits players against each other against Nickelodeon-themed backdrops like Bikini Bottom, ZIM's secret base, and the TMNT rooftops, and there is also a single-player story mode where players are tasked with advancing through unique challenges for each character. Players can also earn outfits and rackets to customize their characters. Fans are sure to love this game!

Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis will be available on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. No specific release date has been shared yet for the game, but Apple Arcade subscribers can sign up to be notified when the game becomes available by tapping on the "Notify Me" button in the game's listing on the App Store.


Apple Arcade is a subscription-based gaming service accessible through the App Store. Priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, the service provides subscribers with access to a growing catalog of games across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. All games on Apple Arcade are free of ads and in-app purchases.

Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis, will follow the success of Nickelodeon's previously released Apple Arcade games: SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit and Loud House: Outta Control. The news also follows Ludosity and GameMill releasing Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl on consoles and PC.

Nickelodeon Latin America to Premiere 'The Smurfs' on Feb. 5, 2022

Paramount+ Latin America (Latinoamérica), the streaming service from ViacomCBS Networks Americas, will be premiering the brand new CG-animated The Smurfs (Los Pitufos) series on Monday 1st November 2021 and adding Nickelodeon's hit animated preschool series Baby Shark's Big Show! (¡Baby Shark, el gran show!) on Saturday 27th November 2021!

Baby Shark's Big Show

Baby Shark y su mejor amigo, William, se embarcan en aventuras llenas de diversión en su comunidad de Carnivore Cove. Baby Shark's Big Show es una serie de televisión infantil animada basada en la marca "Baby Shark" de la empresa surcoreana Pinkfong. SmartStudy, la empresa matriz de Pinkfong, coproduce el programa con Nickelodeon Animation Studio de Estados Unidos.

LOS PITUFOS: NUEVA SERIE ANIMADA YA DISPONIBLE EN PARAMOUNT+

La plataforma de streaming de ViacomCBS, Paramount+ finalmente ha estrenado la primera temporada de la nueva serie de Los Pitufos, una animación en CGI estrenada en septiembre en Estados Unidos. 

Junto a esto, y como ya se conocia previamente, el 26 de noviembre, Nickelodeon también presentará un vistazo especial de la animación.

La serie marca el regreso a las series animadas de los mundialmente conocidos personajes a la televisión por primera vez en casi 40 años. Sigue a Papá Pitufo, Pitufina, Filósofo, Fortachón, Tontín y los demás habitantes de la Aldea de los Pitufos en aventuras totalmente nuevas, llenas de humor, corazón y acción de alto riesgo.

La nueva versión de Los Pitufos está siendo producida por Peyo Productions, en colaboración con el estudio belga Dupuis Audiovisuel y el licenciatario IMPS. Está dirigida por William Renaud (Calimero, La escuela de los sustos de Casper), con guión de Peter Saisselin y Amy Serafin, el dúo que también escribió episodios de Sonic Boom y Alvinnn! y las ardillas.

Este lunes, Nick Jr. estrena la quinta temporada de Peppa Pig

El lunes 3 de enero a las 09:05h Nick Jr. estrena la quinta temporada de Peppa Pig, en la que la cerdita más querida de la televisión llegará con nuevas y divertidas aventuras que irán desde la visita a un parque de dinosaurios y a un nuevo parque temático, hasta aprender a cultivar semillas y sorprender a su profe favorita ¡con una super fiesta de despedida!

En esta nueva temporada, Peppa Pig se embarcará en alucinantes excursiones como la que hará junto a su familia a la Ciudad de las Patatas, el nuevo parque temático en el que descubrirán la magia de las verduras; o como la que hará otro día con sus amigos del cole al teatro para disfrutar de una función especial de Navidad.

Aunque si hay algo que realmente le gusta a la cerdita es aprender a hacer cosas nuevas, por lo que en otra de las aventuras disfrutará mucho aprendiendo a cultivar semillas en el jardín junto a su abuelo Pig, George y Papá Pig. Además, otra de las cosas que caracteriza a Peppa Pig es su buen corazón, pues en otra ocasión, ella y sus compañeros del cole se pondrán manos a la obra para organizar la mejor fiesta de despedida para su profesora favorita, la señora Madame Gazelle. ¿Conseguirán que todo salga bien?

Nuevas series para los pequeños de la casa

En enero, los más pequeños podrán disfrutar de muchos contenidos pensados sólo para ellos. Así, el lunes 10 de enero a las 16.30 horas Nickelodeon estrenará una nueva versión animada en 3D de Los Pitufos, la icónica serie basada en el cómic que Peyo (Pierre Culliford) publicó en 1958. The NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon will showcase one-of-a-kind kid-focused content and Nick-themed elements throughout, including a special halftime presentation, guest reporters, original on-field graphics, virtual filters, and more for kids and families.

The NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon will be streamed via the NFL app on mobile for free, and will air alongside CBS Sports’ coverage of the game, which will be available on The CBS Television Network. Baby Shark Dance Becomes the First Video in History to Hit 10 Billion Views on YouTube

SEOUL, South Korea, Jan. 14, 2022 --The Pinkfong Company, creator of Baby Shark, announced that its iconic 'Baby Shark Dance' music video has officially become the world's first video ever to hit 10 billion views on YouTube, making it the most viewed video in YouTube history, as of January 13th, 2022. The video was released in June 2016.

Since surpassing 'Despacito' by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee in November 2020, 'Baby Shark Dance' has reigned as the most-viewed video on YouTube for 15 consecutive months. Now the video is 2.3 billion views ahead of second place.

Having achieved more views than the entire human population with its video, Baby Shark has become one of the most notable cultural phenomena generating tremendous amounts of engagement across the world. Accompanied by its iconic songs, dances and characters, it took the world by storm with the viral dance challenge called the #BabySharkChallenge, which everyone from little kids to the biggest global pop stars participated in. In addition to the viral challenge, its song swept the music charts recording a 20-week streak on Billboard's Hot 100 and certifying RIAA Diamond (11x Platinum) and BRIT certified 2x Platinum.


Following the global success of the original video, Baby Shark has expanded its universe beyond the internet with its own TV animated series on Nickelodeon, global merchandise licensing program, live tours throughout the world, interactive games, NFTs and more.

Baby Shark's Big Show!, the hit animated preschool series co-produced with Nickelodeon Animation Studio, successfully rolled out internationally in 2021 and has been greenlit for a second season while its feature film is in development.
