How 'Monkey Quest' Helped Create 'Glitch Techs'

In the early '10s, Nickelodeon had a very popular massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) called Monkey Quest. Launched in April 2011, the free-to-play game allowed players to create a monkey warrior avatar and gear up for battle as they embarked on an epic adventure, fighting evil monsters bent on stopping them from completing quests, joining tribes, and ultimately unlocking the secrets of the legendary Monkey King and saving Ook. The game amassed over 10 million registered users, and was so popular that Nickelodeon once planned to produce an animated series based on the title!


In 2012, Nickelodeon turned to Glitch Techs co-creators Eric Robles and Dan Milano to adapt the online game into an animated series - in fact, it's how Robles and Milano first met! During their time working on the Monkey Quest animated series, Robles shared his concept materials for a show about kids who use technology to capture digital creatures that escape from video games. Milano immediately became obsessed with that idea and together they formed a fast partnership, developing the concept into a 22-minute series for Nickelodeon Animation.

Drawing on their mutual love of Saturday morning cartoons, video games, Ghostbusters (Milano kept an arsenal of full-sized Ghostbusters equipment props handy in his office!), toys, and adventure films they soon brought their enthusiasm to both the Nickelodeon Artists Collective and their own custom think tank of show collaborators. By opening their creativity up to the input of others, they vastly expanded the potential for the show’s world, characters, and themes — raising the quality of the project to something they both felt was new, exciting, and challenging.

Unfortunately, in September 2014, Nickelodeon decided to close down Monkey Quest so that they could focus on other digital and mobile experiences. And it seems like the Monkey Quest cartoon series met the same fate. However, Robles has been sharing some awesome development and concept art from his time working on the animated series Monkey Quest on Twitter!





While we unfortunately never got to see the Monkey Quest animated series, fans can stream Glitch Techs on Netflix!

The Muslim Public Affairs Council to Honor 'Glitch Techs' at 2021 MPAC Media Awards

The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) has announced the exciting news that they'll be honoring Nickelodeon's popular animated series Glitch Techs, along with co-creators Eric Robles and Dan Milano, actor Zehra Fazal, who voices Zahra in the show, and writer David Anaxagoras as part of the 2021 MPAC Media Awards!


Now in its 29th year, MPAC’s annual Media Awards celebrates members of the entertainment industry, artists, and activists who promote inclusion and social justice through their craft.

Glitch Techs is one of the most diverse series ever produced by Nickelodeon Animation. The series features a strong female Muslim recurring character, Zahra, who provides inspiration to young Muslim audiences who finally see themselves reflected in an animated character. With so many young children at home throughout the pandemic, Glitch Techs is a fun, action-packed, inclusive, family-friendly show for the entire family.

Glitch Techs features a diverse cast, including a Muslim-American female character, Zahra. When developing Glitch Techs, Dan Milano and Eric Robles wanted characters that represented the audience it was meant for, so someone can see themselves onscreen. -

VIACOMCBS INTERNATIONAL STUDIOS (VIS) AND THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO START PRODUCTION FOR THE SECOND SEASON OF CLUB 57


MIAMI – DECEMBER 15, 2020 – ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) and THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO announced the start of production for the second season of Club 57. The teen musical series produced for Nickelodeon Latin America is being shot in Bogota, Colombia and is the first production to have obtained the support of CINA, the new incentive plan for the development of the audiovisual industry promoted by the Government of Colombia.

Created by screenwriter Catharina Ledeboer, the series is comprised of 60 one-hour episodes led by a talented international cast including Venezuelan actress Evaluna Montaner de Echeverry, Riccardo Frascari from Italy, Colombian actors Sebastián Silva y Andrés Mercado, Chile’s Carolina Mestrovic, Fefi Oliveira from Venezuela and Cuban-American actress Isabela Castillo.  

This new season welcomes Argentine actor Santiago Achaga, Johann Vera of Ecuador and Colombia’s Carolina Angarita, Isabella Barragan, Nataly Vasquez and Daniela Perez. Angela Rincon, Gabriel Lopez, Jonathan Jose Quintana, Simoné Marval, Laura Rosguer, Martina Lavignasse, and Xavier Coronel also return for this second season.

The Club 57 soundtrack will once again be composed and produced by the award-winning singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner, with musical contributions by musical producers Mau y Ricky, Evaluna Montaner de Echeverry and Colombian singer-songwriter, Camilo Echeverry.

Eva and Rubén continue their time traveling adventures, but this time they are not the only ones leaping through time. Their paths will cross with unexpected time travelers that will put not only their intelligence in check, but their hearts as well. The Guardians of Time are also dealing with mysterious hidden forces in their midst, and we will see that nothing and no one is what it seems. They are also facing the typical teen problems with school and love and the frustrations that come with it…all while the clock continues to turn back time. Eva will have to make important decisions this season, as she will find herself at a crossroads with her feelings. Should she risk everything for love?

The first season of Club 57 premiered in Latin America in 2019 and captivated young audiences. It was seen by more than 19M [1] people in the region and positioned itself as the #1 show with Girls 7-14 in Argentina and Mexico and Girls 4-11 in Argentina. La serie juvenil, producida para Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, se está rodando en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia, y es la primera producción que ha obtenido el apoyo de CINA, el nuevo plan de incentivo para el desarrollo de la industria audiovisual, promovido por el Gobierno de Colombia.

Creada por la guionista Catharina Ledeboer, la serie compuesta por 60 capítulos de una hora cada uno es protagonizada por la actriz venezolana Evaluna Montaner de Echeverri, el actor italiano Riccardo Frascari, los colombianos Sebastián Silva y Andrés Mercado, la chilena Carolina Mestrovic, la venezolana Fefi Oliveira y la cubana Isabela Castillo, a quienes se suman el actor argentino Santiago Achaga, el ecuatoriano Johann Vera y las colombianas Carolina Angarita, Isabella Barragan, Nataly Vasquez y Daniela Pérez.

Continúan también en la serie los actores Angela Rincón, Gabriel López, Jonathan José Quintana, Simoné Marval, Laura Rosguer, Martina Lavignasse, y Xavier Coronel.

Asimismo, el premiado cantautor argentino-venezolano Ricardo Montaner, los productores musicales Mau y Ricky, y el cantautor colombiano, Camilo Echeverri serán, una vez más, los encargados de la banda sonora para esta segunda temporada.

En esta nueva temporada, Eva y Rubén continúan con sus caóticos saltos en el tiempo. Pero, esta vez no son los únicos, se cruzarán con inesperados viajeros que no solo pondrán en jaque su inteligencia sino también sus corazones.

Por otro lado, fuerzas misteriosas se ocultan entre los guardianes, y veremos que nada ni nadie es lo que parece. Mientras enfrentan los problemas típicos de todo adolescente: la escuela, las frustraciones, el amor… todo eso mientras los relojes siguen girando al revés. Eva tendrá que tomar decisiones importantes en esta temporada mientras sus sentimientos se encuentran en una encrucijada ¿Vale la pena arriesgarlo todo por amor?

La primera temporada de Club 57 se estrenó en América Latina en 2019 y logró cautivar al público juvenil. Fue vista por más de 19 millones de personas en la región y se posicionó como el show número uno en el segmento niñas 7-14 en Argentina y México; y 4-11 en niñas en Argentina.

A su vez durante los fines de semana Club 57 fue el show número uno durante el bloque infantil en Telefe en Argentina. La serie tuvo más de 69 millones de video views lo largo de todas las plataformas y fue la propiedad número uno en Nick Play durante sus estrenos.

La serie juvenil, producida para Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, se está rodando en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia, y es la primera producción que ha obtenido el apoyo de CINA, el nuevo plan de incentivo para el desarrollo de la industria audiovisual, promovido por el Gobierno de Colombia.

Consejo Nacional de Economía Naranja aprobó cupo fiscal por $517.000 millones para 2021

Felipe Buitrago, viceministro de Creatividad y Economía Naranja del Ministerio de Cultura, dijo que el reto es generar empleos

Durante el octavo Consejo Nacional de Economía Naranja, que contó con la participación de 12 entidades del Gobierno Nacional, en cabeza del Ministerio de Cultura, se aprobó un cupo fiscal de $517.000 millones para impulsar proyectos del sector cultural y creativo en 2021. Se espera que estos recursos generen inversiones por más de $1,4 billones para los sectores de la Economía Naranja.

Felipe Buitrago, viceministro de Creatividad y Economía Naranja del Ministerio de Cultura, dijo que el gran reto para el 2021 es generar empleos y nuevas oportunidades para los artistas, creadores, gestores y emprendedores del país. "Nuestra meta es recuperar alrededor de 100.000 empleos para el sector cultural y creativo”.

Entre las grandes apuestas para 2021 está el sector audiovisual que, gracias a los incentivos tributarios puestos en marcha durante este año, tendrá inversiones por $283.900 millones, a través de 17 proyectos de largometrajes, series y realities que se realizarán en Colombia.

“En 2021 tendremos en el país rodajes como la tercera temporada de la Reina del Sur, con inversiones por el orden de los $61.000 millones; Master Chef Ecuador, Club 57 de Nickelodeon, Ex on the beach y Tayrona, entre otros. Cartagena se convertirá en el hub de los realities de MTV. Tenemos identificados más de 30 proyectos para 2021, que implican inversiones por el orden de los $250.000 millones”, afirmó el viceministro Buitrago.

Según el funcionario, casas de producción de Estados Unidos y Europa están interesadas en venir a rodar a Colombia, gracias a la creación del certificado de inversión audiovisual (CINA), que se ha convertido en un mecanismo para atraer inversión extranjera al país.

De igual manera, con la Ley ReactivARTE se creará el Fondo para la promoción del patrimonio, la cultura, las artes y la creatividad (Foncultura), que incentivará el desarrollo de proyectos de economía creativa. También se destinarán mayores recursos a los departamentos y municipios gracias a la devolución del 20 por ciento de la Estampilla Procultura, que espera recaudar alrededor de $90.000 millones para financiar la ejecución de procesos, acciones y proyectos del sector cultural.

Esta misma Ley dejó permanente la reducción a 4% de la tarifa de retención en la fuente para 27 actividades culturales y creativas, entre las que se encuentran: edición de libros y publicaciones periódicas, distribución y exhibición de películas cinematográficas y videos, programación y transmisión en el servicio de radiodifusión y televisión, creación cultural, literaria, musical y teatral, actividades de fotografía, espectáculos en vivo y actividades de bibliotecas y archivos, entre otras.

A esto se suman los ‘Compromisos ReactivARTE- Agendas creativas 2020-2023’, que ha firmado el Ministerio de Cultura con 10 ciudades del país (Bogotá, Cali, Medellín, Pasto, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Cartagena, Valledupar, Manizales y Bucaramanga), que esperan movilizar más de $1,2 billones en el desarrollo de proyectos para impulsar las industrias culturales y creativas.

Cifras destacadas en 2020

Gracias a la articulación de las entidades que pertenecen al Consejo Nacional de Economía Naranja y a la importancia que le ha dado el Gobierno Nacional al sector cultural y creativo, se destinaron 2 billones de pesos para impulsar su desarrollo.

Así mismo, gracias al liderazgo de las alcaldías y a los incentivos y mecanismos creados por el Gobierno Nacional, se han creado 42 Áreas de Desarrollo Naranja en 17 ciudades de 9 departamentos y el Distrito Capital, que además de incentivar la reactivación de las industrias culturales y creativas, van a promover el turismo cultural.

A la fecha, 326 empresas del sector cultural y creativo han sido beneficiarias del incentivo de exención de renta por 7 años.

Como parte de la implementación del Decreto 697 de 2020 se abrió la convocatoria ‘CoCrea, un compromiso por Colombia’, que recibió en tres meses 486 proyectos, de 24 departamentos y 120 ciudades y municipios, por un valor de $403.000 millones, que esperan generar 42.579 empleos para los sectores de la Economía Naranja. Esta convocatoria es liderada por la nueva Corporación CoCrea, que articula recursos del sector público y privado para incentivar el crecimiento de las industrias culturales y creativas en el país.

El guayaquileño, quien ganara la Gaviota de Plata en Viña del Mar, es uno de los artistas que estará en la segunda temporada de la serie Club 57, en la que también interviene la actriz Evaluna Montaner.

"Tengo muchas historias que contarles respecto a este proyecto. Una de ellas es que yo había audicionado y quedado en la primera temporada y días antes de grabar me salí porque tenía miedo de que mi música pasara a un segundo plano. En verdad creo que solo tenía miedo de volver a actuar después de más de 4 años. Pero Dios es grande y lo que es para uno, es para uno", relata en su imagen posteada.

Vera estará en la segunda temporada de esta producción creada por la guionista ecuatoriana Catharina Ledeboer.

Catharina Ledeboer, la escritora y guionista ecuatoriana, creadora de la serie ‘Club 57′, habla de su segunda temporada en Nickelodeon

La ecuatoriana está trabajando en nuevos proyectos con contenido enfocado para público más adulto.

Se fue a Estados Unidos en el 2003, pero oficialmente se radicó allá en el 2005. Y aunque su trabajo como escritora y guionista la mantiene gran parte del tiempo creando y lejos, Ecuador, su país natal, no sale nunca de sus planes.

Catharina Ledeboer, guionista ecuatoriana, es la artífice de mágicas historias que enganchan al público infantil y juvenil internacional. De su maravillosa mente y pluma han salido mundos y personajes como Toni la chef, Grachi y Club 57, transmitidos en Nickelodeon, canal extranjero del que la compatriota forma parte desde hace once años.

Frente al mar de Salinas, donde está disfrutando de unos días de descanso luego de compartir con su progenitora que vive en el país y de comer su infaltable pan de yuca -luego de aterrizar-, Ledeboer conversa con este Diario sobre la segunda temporada de Club 57, en Nickelodeon, que se prevé esté lista para junio de este año.

Música y ciencia ficción

Club 57, protagonizada por Evaluna Montaner y Sebastián Silva, presenta a los hermanos Eva y Rubén, quienes descubren una máquina del tiempo creada por su abuelo, que los lleva por accidente a 1957. Ella se enamora de JJ (Ricardo Frascari) y este nuevo amor cambiará su decisión de retornar al presente.

“En esta temporada vamos a viajar por muchas más épocas, una de las cosas que nos dimos cuenta, en la primera temporada, es que los viajes en el tiempo tuvieron aún más éxito, les gustaron más a los niños, les encantó la música y los viajes en el tiempo. Entonces nos hemos concentrado bastante en toda la tecnología de los viajes en el tiempo, en toda la parte científica, manteniéndola superdivertida. En esta temporada tenemos nuevos guardianes, tenemos nuevos conflictos, ponemos nuevas preguntas acerca de si se debe viajar en el tiempo o no se debe, retomamos el amor entre JJ y Eva, si es que puede ser un amor que dure o no, por lo que son de otras épocas. Tenemos muchos personajes nuevos”, detalla Ledeboer.

De acuerdo con Ledeboer, en la actual entrega habrá un nuevo personaje para un triángulo amoroso. “Ahora ya no solo va a ser entre Vero, JJ y Eva. Ahora tenemos una competencia para JJ. Yo estoy contentísima con esta temporada. Hoy día vi la mitad del primer capítulo y estoy orgullosísima del trabajo que hemos hecho con todos en conjunto”, añade.

La producción de la segunda temporada de Club 57 comenzó con retraso por la pandemia del COVID-19. El rodaje, que se desarrolla en Bogotá (Colombia), inició su convocatoria para nuevos talentos en junio del año anterior.

“Me fui hacia atrás y volví a reescribir todos los libretos (...), ya sabíamos que íbamos a usar a Johann (Vera), a muchos que ya les habíamos puesto el ojo y de ahí comenzaron a grabar a finales de octubre, comienzos de noviembre. Estamos en grabaciones hasta mayo. Esta grabación ha sido más lenta porque estamos con todos los protocolos de seguridad, nuestro enfoque número uno ha sido la protección de nuestro equipo de producción y actores, todo es mucho más lento”, explica Ledeboer.

Música exclusiva para la serie

En esta entrega, la banda sonora así como la ambientación estarán enfocadas en los años ochenta. “La música es toda nueva, escrita por el grupo de Ricardo Montaner, la música es escrita por Ricardo Montaner con Mau & Ricky (sus hijos), Camilo (su yerno) y Evaluna, por supuesto. Todo es nuevo, pero tiene ese sonido, hay varias canciones que se sienten ochenteras, están muy bacanes”, menciona.

Montaner junto con su familia también fueron responsables de la musicalización de la primera temporada. La primera en sumarse fue Evaluna, quien también fuera parte de la serie Grachi.

“Yo quería hacer algo de ciencia ficción y Nickelodeon quería un musical. Yo dije: Mira, te hago las dos cosas juntas, entonces primero Evaluna hizo el casting y quedó. Ella era Eva, la vimos y dije: Ella es el personaje principal. Ricardo nos llamó y dijo que él quería hacer la música, y ha sido un placer trabajar con él y con gente con tanto talento, lo único que hacen es subirme el nivel de la novela, la verdad”, asevera.

Apoyo al talento nacional

“A mí me encanta trabajar con talento ecuatoriano, una de las cosas después de que ya me ha ido bien afuera siempre es tratar de resaltar el talento ecuatoriano. Siento que somos un país pequeño, pero que tenemos tanto talento que siempre quiero resaltarlo, no solamente adelante de las cámaras sino atrás también. Y con Johann, él hizo un casting para la primera temporada, pero tuvo unos conflictos de horarios y no pudo, y en esta segunda temporada lo logramos comprometer y ha funcionado, aparte estaba loco por estar en el elenco, porque todos son amigos de él. Este ha sido uno de mis mejores elenco”, admite.

El cantante ecuatoriano Johann Vera, quien ganara la Gaviota de plata en el festival de Viña del 2020, como mejor intérprete internacional, es parte en esta entrega de Club 57, cuya primera temporada está disponible en Netflix. (E)

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--Feb. 26, 2021--The quest is yet to come in Nickelodeon’s all-new live-action puppet comedy series, The Barbarian and the Troll (previously Brendar the Barbarian), premiering Friday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).  The series follows Evan, a bridge troll in search of adventure, and Brendar, a fierce female warrior on a quest to defeat the evil demon who has imprisoned her brother.


In the premiere of The Barbarian and the Troll, Evan the troll decides to burn his bridge and venture out into the world of Gothmoria for the first time to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a singer.  He soon meets Brendar, who had been expelled from the Royal Order of Warrior Princesses and is now known as a “feared and revered” barbarian.  After Evan convinces Brendar to bring him on her quest to vanquish the evil demon, they cross treacherous terrain to confront bizarre and magical creatures and encounter an eclectic puppet cast of wacky characters.


The series stars Spencer Grammer (Rick & Morty) as the voice of Brendar, Gothmoria’s most feared and revered warrior; and Drew Massey (Mutt & Stuff, Sid the Science Kid) as Evan, a bridge troll with a dream of becoming a singer.  Joining Massey as puppeteers and voice talent are Colleen Smith, Allan Trautman, Sarah Sarang Oh, Nicolette Santino, Peggy Etra, James Murray and Jeny Cassady.  The series also features the voice of comedian Gina Yashere.


The Barbarian and the Troll is co-created and executive produced by Mike Mitchell (Trolls, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part) and Massey.  Mitchell also serves as the show’s primary director.  Production of The Barbarian and the Troll for Nickelodeon is overseen by Zack Olin, Senior Vice President, Live Action; and Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live-Action Scripted Content.

Paramount+, the newly launched streaming service from ViacomCBS, today (March 24) added the SpongeBob SquarePants documentary SpongeBob DocuPants: A Bikini Bottom Documentary to its programming library!

Paramount+ Adds Raft of Nickelodeon Classics

Paramount+, the newly launched streaming service from ViacomCBS, today (March 24) added another raft of classic Nickelodeon series to its programming library!


Paramount+ has today added Hey DudeSalute Your ShortsKABLAM!, Nickelodeon GUTS, Nick Arcade, You Can't Do That On Television (14 episodes), and Legends of the Hidden Temple! The news follows Paramount Plus added Eureeka's Castle on Tuesday, March 23.

In addition to the classic Nick series, Paramount+ has added modern classic True Jackson, VP, and modern favorites Frankie and Frank (which mainly aired on Nickelodeon's international channels) and The Bureau of Magical Things, ahead of its upcoming second season.

Paramount+ has also added missing seasons of AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, The Wild Thornberrys, Paradise Run and Clarissa Explains It All., and well as the first six episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants season 12. The service has also added the documentary SpongeBob DocuPants.

SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple under the sea. It's in the theme song - we've heard it in just about every SpongeBob episode that aired on Nickelodeon. Turns out it's mathematically impossible. A background designer on the show came forward with a brand new pineapple design - and it's all thanks to a fan!




Nickelodeon is slated to premiere the brand new SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Bubble Bass's Tab; Kooky Cooks" on Friday, April 9, 2021! Although a time has yet to be announced, it is speculated that the all new episode will air at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT), and will serve as a lead-in to the second episode of Nick's brand new show, The Barbarian and the Troll at 7:30 p.m.


In "Bubble Bass's Tab", Bubble Bass avoids paying his bill at the Krusty Krab, so SpongeBob and Squidward are sent to collect the cash. Then in "Kooky Cooks," Mr. Krabs makes SpongeBob and Squidward cook a fancy meal for Mrs. Puff, but every dish becomes a dispute.

IMPS to Present New 'The Smurfs' Animated Series at Digital MIPTV 2021

MIPTV has announced the Smurf-tastic news that International Merchandising, Promotion and Services SA (IMPS) will be presenting their brand new The Smurfs animated series during this year’s Partner Content Showcases, taking place as part of Digital MIPTV on Friday 9 April and Monday 12 April and on catch up until 14 May!


Based on the iconic property and in partnership with LAFIG Belgium and IMPS, The Smurfs is a brand-new original CG-animated TV series following Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty, Clumsy and others, on all-new adventures, packed with humor, heart and high-stakes action. The series is set to premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. in October 2021, and is slated to roll-out on Nickelodeon channels and programming blocks shortly after.

In a press release, MIPTV said: "IMPS presents their brand new Smurfs TV Series.  Two seasons of 52 episodes of 11 minutes each have already been snapped up by Nickelodeon and although several free-to-air partners are on board, IMPS is still looking for TV channels to hop on, especially from Asia and Latin America."

The Smurfs is produced by Belgium's Peyo Productions and France's Dupuis Edition & Audiovisuel. It is being directed by William Renaud (CalimeroCasper’s Scare SchoolA Kind of Magic) and written by Peter Saisselin (Sonic BoomALVINNN!!! And the Chipmunks) and Amy Serafin (Sonic BoomAlvin!!! And the Chipmunks).

In addition to the content partnership, ViacomCBS Consumer Products (VCP) will manage consumer products licensing for The Smurfs property across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Malaysia. VCP will seek new merchandising and promotional partners in select categories and territories for The Smurfs classic brand, in addition to a new product line for the new animated series The Smurfs, spanning categories including toys, stationery, apparel and accessories, home, consumer packaged goods and more, to launch at retail in 2022.

Created in 1958 by Belgian cartoonist Peyo, pen name of Pierre Culliford (1928-1992), the Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs) evolved from secondary comic characters in Peyo's Johan and Peewit (French: Johan et Pirlouit) comic series and spinning off into their own series the following year, in which they became the small centerpieces of the massive franchise that skyrocketed to global fame with the 1981 launch of The Smurfs (Smurfs' Adventures) Saturday morning cartoon series, which, produced by Hanna-Barbera aired new episodes on NBC until 1989, running for more than 250 episodes and several specials over nine seasons. It would eventually manifest in live-action CG-animation hybrid splendor on the big screen. The 2011 feature film of the same name and its 2013 sequel, The Smurfs 2 were produced by Sony Pictures Animation and released by Columbia Pictures. Hank Azaria and Neil Patrick Harris starred in live-action roles, with voiceovers by Anton Yelchin, Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry (famously providing the voice of Smurfette), Jayma Mays, and George Lopez. A fully CG-animated standalone movie, The Smurfs: Lost Village was released in April 2017, featuring the voices of Demi Lovato, Rainn Wilson, Ellie Kemper, Julia Roberts and Mandy Patinkin. The Smurfs have also featured in two shorts.

ViacomCBS Launches Paramount Plus in the Nordics

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) Nordics today (March 25) launched their new and improved Paramount+ SVOD service in the Nordic region. The service will initially be available through local partner, such as Apple TV, Telia TV in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and Tele 2, Telenor and Allente in Sweden, with plans to release a direct-to-consumer Paramount+ app in April 2021.


With more than 6,000 episodes and films to be released throughout the year, Paramount+ will be home to iconic hits from across the ViacomCBS portfolio of brands and networks, including Nickelodeon, including the brand new SpongeBob SquarePants spin-off series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years. Local productions available from launch include the first season of Ib the Dog, with season two, being produced exclusively for the premium streaming service in the Nordics region, set to arrive in summer 2021.

Unlike the North American version, the Nordic version of Paramount Plus won't carry The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, as Netflix has the international rights to the film.

ViacomCBS annonserte denne uken at deres nye strømmetjeneste Paramount+ fra og med 25. mars kommer til å være tilgjengelig via Apple TV.

Apple TV-appen er tilgjengelig i Norden på iPhone, iPad, Apple TV iPod touch, Mac-maskiner, på utvalgte smart-TV-er fra Samsung, LG og Sony samt på PlayStation og Xbox.

Paramount+ har i lengre tid vært tilgjengelig for kunder av Telia og Telenor, men i dag skjer det altså en nylansering av tjenesten som innebærer en hel rekke nytt innhold og en opptrapping mot lanseringen av strømmetjenesten på et helt drøss plattformer i april.

«Paramount+ har posisjonert seg godt med tanke på å bli en sentral aktør blant de norske strømmetjenestene», sier Jesper Dahl, nordisk direktør for ViacomCBC.

Den nye, internasjonale, strømmetjenesten Paramount+ ankommer Norden i dag.

Med høstens lansering av Disney+ i Norden har kampen om de attraktive strømmeabonnentene virkelig hardnet til.

Netflix har (godt hjulpet av lockdown under koronapandemien) allerede passert 200 millioner abonnenter, mens «nykommeren» Disney+ nylig passerte 100 millioner – og det på litt over ett år.

Siden 2017 har ViacomCBS hatt en strømmetjeneste i Danmark: «Paramount+», nå lanseres snart tjenesten i resten av Norden samt 20 andre land.

Den nye strømmetjenesten er tilgjengelig via Apple TV-kanalene på Apple TV-appen for første gang i Norden fra og med i dag.

Apple TV-appen er tilgjengelig i Norden på iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch og MacBooks. Smart TV-er: Samsung, LG  og Sony, samt på spillkonsollene PlayStation and Xbox.

Den nye strømmetjenesten vil også tilby nye originalserier, som American Rust og Halo.

Paramount+ lover også lokalprodusert, nordisk, innhold på tjenesten. Men det eneste de så langt har annonsert (en dansk barneanimasjonsserie, Hunden Ib, som allerede er vist på NRK) vitner ikke akkurat om store ambisjoner på dette området. Et felt som domineres av Netflix og HBO.

Mer nordisk strømmeinnhold

Netflix har siden 2016 ledet an i dette viktige segmentet (Marseille, sesong 1), og lanserte allerede for to år siden sin første nordisk serie, The Rain (som i fjor kom med sin tredje sesong) i Danmark.

Deretter har Netflix lansert Hjem til jul, Ragnarok og Kadaver i Norge, samt Quicksand – störst av allt og  den fornøyelige Kjærlighet & anarki i Sverige. I Danmark slapp de for kun 3 uker siden den spennende serien Equinox – og har allerede annonsert den kommende Chosen.

HBO Nordic har har på sin side lansert den norske serien Beforeigners, de to svenske seriene Gösta og Bjørnstad, samt den kommende (norske) Velkommen til Utmark.

Paramount+ vil også være hjemmet til en noen av verdens største filmserier som Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones og Gudfaren-trilogien, i tillegg til eksklusive strømmepremierer på filmer som Light of My Life, Tesla, Capone, Survive the Night, Wild Rose og Escape from Pretoria.

Med lanseringen av Paramount+ vil strømmemarkedet bli enda er fragmentert, der flere og flere aktører sitter med eksklusive rettigheter på filmer og serier; det være seg nye så vel som arkivtitler.

Det store spørsmålet blir jo nå hva de små, nasjonale strømmetjenestene som TV Sumo og Viaplay i fremtiden skal tilby av innhold, om alle de store internasjonale filmselskapene trekker ut sitt innhold for å tilby det eksklusivt på sine egne strømmetjenester.

Ny streamingtjeneste rammer det danske marked i dag

Paramount+ sparker nu dørene op til det danske marked med et nyt streaming-univers. For 59 kroner om måneden åbnes der op for en række originale produktioner og velkendte klassikere. Men det er ikke alle, der vil kunne få adgang til tjenesten i første omgang.

Fra og med i dag får danskerne endnu en streamingtjeneste at vælge imellem.

Paramount+ slår nemlig dørene op til det danske marked.

Bag tjenesten står den amerikanske mediekoncern, ViacomCBS.

Streamingtjenesten koster 59 kroner om måneden, og indenbords finder man en ræke kendte titler samt nye produktioner.

Blandt trækplastrene findes den nye dramaserie om amerikanske præsidentfuer, "The First Lady," der er instrueret af danske Susanne Bier.

En anden original titel er The Offer. En serie, der handler om tilblivelsen af en af de største filmklassikere nogensinde, The Godfather.

Af velkendte titler findes Mission Impossible, Twin Peaks, Indiana Jones og Dexter. Målretter de små findes Svampebob Firkant og Paw Patrol.

Den nye streamingtjeneste har over 6.000 film og serieafsnit fra blandt andet filmselskabet Paramount Pictures samt TV-kanalerne CBS, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV, Showtime og Smithsonian.

Til at starte med lanceres tjenesten dog ikke via en selvstændig app.

ViacomCBS skriver i en pressemeddelelse, at tjenesten i første omgang integreres direkte i Apple TV-app’en som en kanal. Dertil indgår tjenesten som bland selv-produkt hos YouSee fra i dag.

Det betyder samtidig, at Android-brugere er forment adgang til tjenesten, indtil der lanceres en selvstændig app i løbet af april måned.

Apple TV-app’en er tilgængelig i Norden på iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch og MacBooks, på udvalgte smart-TV fra Samsung, LG og Sony samt på PlayStation og Xbox, lyder det.

"Paramount+ tilbyder et bredt udvalg af indhold på tværs af alle de vigtigste genrer. I dag lanceres Paramount+ i Norden

Den nye, internationale streaming-tjeneste Paramount+ ankommer til Norden i dag.

Med efterårets lancering af Disney+ i Norden er kampen om de attraktive streaming-abonnenter virkelig spidset til.

Netflix har (godt hjulpet af lockdown under coronapandemien) allerede passeret 200 millioner abonnenter, mens den “nye” tjeneste Disney+ nærmer sig 100 millioner – og det på kun lidt over et år.

For en måned siden udvidede Disney+ udbuddet voldsomt med det nye voksensegment Star.

Som vi tidligere har fortalt, springer endnu en aktør nu på streaming-toget. Streaming-tjenesten CBS All Access relanceres som Paramount+ i USA og lanceres i Norden i dag, den 25. marts. ViacomCBS har ganske vist haft en streaming-tjeneste i Danmark under navnet Paramount+ siden 2017, men nu bliver tjenesten altså lanceret i resten af Norden samt 20 andre lande. Og den bliver lettere tilgængelig i Danmark.

Den nye streaming-tjeneste vil være tilgængelig på Apple TV-kanalen via Apple TV-app’en i Norden fra i dag. Apple TV-app’en findes på iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch og MacBooks samt smart-TV’er fra Samsung, LG og Sony. Plus spilkonsollerne PlayStation og Xbox.

Paramount+ er også tilgængelig via YouSee, Telenor og Allente (tidligere Canal Digital). I løbet af april vil tjenesten desuden blive tilgængelig via en egen app samt ParamountPlus.com på Android-mobiler, Android-TV’er og Amazon Fire TV.

ICON Creative Studio to Handle Animation for Nickelodeon's New 'Transformers' Series

The Emmy-nominated independent Canadian animation studio ICON Creative Studio has recently updated their website with a new placeholder graphic listed alongside their other programs, revealing that they will be producing the animation for Nickelodeon and eOne's upcoming Transformers animated series! Additionally, the studio has revealed that the series is currently in production, and are also hiring new animators for the job.


The Icon Creative Studio team has worked with Disney and streaming services like Netflix, and is behind such CG-animated series as Elena of AvalorRocket Club, Monsters At WorkKong: King of the Apes, and T.O.T.S. Check out their reel here.

Although unconfirmed, it's thought that the currently-untitled Transformers series will also be CG-animated, although the art style of the show is yet to be revealed.

The series will premiere exclusively on Nickelodeon in the U.S. in 2022 before rolling out internationally.

Baby Shark’s Big Show!: ‘It Caters to Pre-Schoolers, Parents, Grandparents’


Baby Shark is coming to Nickelodeon. On Friday, March 26 a new animated series called Baby Shark’s Big Show! will make its debut. The series stars Kimiko Glenn as Baby Shark and Luke Youngblood as Baby’s best friend William. Baby Shark has been a cultural phenomenon for a long time and this series will provide something for young kids and parents alike as the show follows Baby and William on fun-filled adventures in their community Carnivore Cove.

CBS Local caught up with Glenn and Youngblood to preview the new series, discuss the keys to succeeding in Hollywood and the cultural impact of Baby Shark.

“It is so cool. Being part of a universe that is gigantic and that every single person on the planet knows about already is really great,” said Youngblood, in an interview with CBS Local’s DJ Sixsmith. “Everything has been elevated and it’s just a pleasure to work with Kimiko and the rest of our fantastic cast.”

“The entire thing is so cool. I’m honestly so grateful to be here,” said Glenn. “I think what really excites me about Baby Shark and Baby the character is he is so sweet and so bubbly and so down for anything. He’s down for any adventure. He’s really brave and imperfect. They go around and make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s very emotional in the best way possible. It’s just a pleasure to do and to get to sing all the music that actually drives the plot forward. It’s just such an honor to be here.”

In Friday’s premiere episode, Baby gets his first tooth loose and calls on William to help him lose the tooth so he can trade it for a sand dollar. Both Youngblood and Glenn are excited that parents and kids alike will be able to enjoy this series.

“I think it’s about telling the truth and it’s not thinking about this going out to a three-year-old or a 30-year-old,” said Youngblood. “It’s going out a human being and that’s what is so wonderful about this show in particular. It caters to a pre-school audience and the parents and the grandparents. It is so reflective about what this show is all about.”

“It’s surprising that I am having the time of my life,” said Glenn. “We have fun doing voiceovers, but do this every week and sometimes twice a week. I’m always so excited to go in and do it. It feels very much a part of me. It’s a part of me that I finally get to express. It brings out my inner child and when I end the sessions, I leave with this great feeling of good energy.”

Baby Shark is coming to Nickelodeon and this Phoenix-born actress voices him. How to watch

Billions of people around the world have heard the hit children’s song “Baby Shark.”

Since the earworm went viral in 2017 — becoming the most-viewed YouTube video of all time with over 8 billion views — Nickelodeon has turned the character into a show for preschoolers that premiered last year.

Voicing Baby Shark is Kimiko Glenn, a Phoenix-born actress who is well-known within the Valley’s theater community.

Before the versatile 31-year-old actress appeared in feature films, Netflix dramas and animated movies that became box office hits, she performed with Valley Youth Theatre. Her first role was in its production of “Snow White” when she was in the fifth grade during the 1999-2000 season.

The role of Baby Shark helps her connect to her inner child, Glenn said in an interview with The Arizona Republic.

“I seriously feel like I'm constantly in contact with my inner child and the Kimiko that was in ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ and (who) expressed herself in such a big, earnest, childlike way,” she said.

“It's so much fun.”

“Baby Shark’s Big Show!” which is in its first season on Nickelodeon, is created through a partnership with South Korean education brand Pinkfong, which made "Baby Shark Dance” in 2016.

Nearly five years since "Baby Shark" was posted on YouTube, it has garnered more than 8 billion views. That’s more than some of the most-played pop songs on the platform, which include Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" (2017) and Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" (2015).

Glenn returns to TV as Baby Shark when the spring premiere of the show airs March 26. 

Studying theater in Phoenix ‘taught me everything I know’

As Glenn tells it, her involvement with “Snow White” was her father’s answer to her “raucous and wild” tendencies in childhood.

“My dad was like, ‘I think we should harness this for good and … make this useful somehow,’” she said. “I feel like, among my family, I was a bit of an anomaly. They're all very heavily logical, book smart, wonderful people. And I was always really raucous and wild and had so much energy and was constantly imitating people.”

She learned how to sing, she said, by imitating Celine Dion.

So she redirected her energy into performing on stage. Through Valley Youth Theatre, she starred in productions such as "The Secret Garden,” “Into the Woods,” “Cats” and "Bye Bye Birdie."

“I just finally had an outlet to really let it free,” Glenn said. “Valley Youth Theatre is the theater I grew up with. That was the theater that sort of taught me everything I know.”

Roles in 'Orange Is the New Black,''Bojack Horseman'

Since her youth theater productions, Glenn has become known to audiences as Brook Soso on Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black,” Peni Parker in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and Stefani Stilton on “BoJack Horseman.”

After living in New York City for a decade, during which she landed a role on Broadway as Dawn in “Waitress,” Glenn moved to Los Angeles, where she currently lives.

Her immediate family still lives in Arizona, Glenn said, and continued to attend Valley Youth Theatre shows well into her professional career.

“They're just supportive of the place that kind of raised me in a way — or a certain part of me,” she said.

She has continued to support the organization by participating alongside fellow alumni, including Emma Stone, Chelsea Kane and Nick Cartell, in annual fundraisers.

Her sister, Amanda, is “kind of a superstar” and continues to do theater in the Valley, Glenn said.

Baby Shark is Getting His Own TV Show and Here’s What You Need to Know About It

We sat down with Kimiko Glenn, who voices Baby, and Luke Youngblood, who voices William, to learn more about the highly-anticipated series.

Yes, you read that headline right… Baby Shark is getting his own TV show and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

After becoming a worldwide phenomenon with its catchy theme song, Nickelodeon Animation Studio and SmartStudy, the global entertainment company behind the beloved children’s brand Pinkfong, created Baby Shark’s Big Show — a preschool series that follows Baby Shark and his best friend William as they journey on fun-filled comedic adventures in their community of Carnivore Cove, make new friends and sing original catchy tunes along the way.

In the premiere episode titled “Baby Tooth/Slobber Slug,” Baby Shark gets his first loose tooth and enlists William’s help to lose it so he can trade it in for a sand dollar. When their antics get the tooth lost for real, they must team up with the Toothfish Fairy to track it down. Then, while Baby Shark and his friends are playing Barnacle Ball, Hank’s pet rock, Rocky, is accidentally sent soaring into the lair of the vicious Slobber Slug and they must stage an elaborate rescue mission.

According to Nickelodeon, the cast is absolutely “swimsational,” as Kimiko Glenn (Orange is the New Black) plays Baby Shark and Luke Youngblood (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) plays Baby’s best friend William. Glenn and Youngblood recently opened up to Celeb Secrets about their experience on the show, and they both touted it as a dream come true with smiles from ear to ear.

“I was so tickled. I don’t know how else to describe it,” Kimiko says about her first reactions when she found out she was going to voice Baby. “It was like excitement and just like, ‘Oh my gosh, what a fun fact, you know?’ I’m just so excited and so honored to be here.”

“[My] jaw hit the ground,” Youngblood adds about playing William. “Its the same thing [like Kimiko] — it’s just exciting to be a part of something from the inception of its new phase and existing property that so many people around the world that you know love and enjoy. Getting to be a part of it from the beginning is just unbelievable. It’s just a dream come true.” 

Baby Shark, created by Pinkfong, was introduced to the world in November 2015 and took the world by storm, amassing 8 billion views and becoming the most-watched video in the platform’s history. With music, characters, story and dance all combined together, the song certified RIAA Diamond and 11x platinum single for selling over 11 million units in the U.S., and spawned a viral phenomenon #BabySharkChallenge, generating over one million cover videos around the globe.

Baby Shark's Big Show premieres Friday on Nickelodeon at 12:30 p.m. ET/PT

Luke Youngblood has won the title of coolest uncle ever.

Starring alongside Kimiko Glenn in the upcoming Nick Jr. series Baby Shark's Big Show, the actor, 34, tells PEOPLE that his younger nieces and nephews are floored to see him be a part of the cultural touchstone.

"Everyone is just so shocked and amazed that we get to be a part of the phenomenon," he says.

After the "Baby Shark" song went viral in 2015, Nickelodeon teamed up with SmartStudy — the global entertainment company that owns Pinkfong, the original creators of the song — for a 2D animated series.

In Nickelodeon's spin on the iconic shark tale, Glenn plays the titular character Baby Shark — a sweet, bubbly young shark who sometimes bites off a bit more than he can chew. Youngblood plays Baby's best pal William, a quick-witted pilot fish who can be quite the jokester.

Glenn and Youngblood spoke with PEOPLE about how they felt taking the reins on the iconic piece of pop culture.

"[I love] being a part of something that is already loved by so many people around the world, and just being able to build on the expansive universe," says Youngblood, who is no stranger to famous franchises having appeared in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Glenn adds, "It's so iconic and I think when I auditioned I just really felt a connection to Baby."

However, the show didn't come without its challenges. Baby Shark's Big Show was in production largely during the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning that the actors couldn't go into a studio to record most of their voiceovers.

Instead, they had to set up their own equipment for each session and, of course, weather a few technical difficulties before getting the hang of it.

"It was a bit of a learning curve figuring out the equipment ... we've now gotten a rhythm about it," Glenn says. "It was a little scary at first, but otherwise so much fun."

"And [you need] fast internet!" Youngblood chimes in with a laugh. "But being able to roll out of bed and be in the studio sometimes in your pajamas is actually a really nice treat."

Both Glenn and Youngblood have a background in theater, which they say immensely helped when it came to both problem solving and also embodying these exuberant characters.

"I think that being on stage and expressing yourself that way, it's so vocal. I think it all just sort of lends itself to voiceover," Glenn says. "It's just so much fun and it feels so natural and easy in that way because I spent my whole life doing it."

The actors also express gratitude that, even in the midst of lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they could continue to create the show. And while production has now resumed for many film and television projects, Broadway and West End have remain shuttered for over a year.

"I'm mostly grieving for my friends" whose livelihoods relied on live theater, Glenn says, reflecting on the shutdown. "I'm really hoping that things are able to open up soon so that they're able to experience that magic again, because it truly is magical."

Youngblood echoes her sentiment, but concludes that "we must live in a hope."

"It's an art form that has been around for thousands of years, so it's not going anywhere," he says. "It's just taking a break and we're going to get back on the horse. It might look a little bit different when it comes back, but change is good."

Baby Shark's Big Show premieres Friday on Nickelodeon at 12:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Nickelodeon’s Baby Shark’s Big Show! is going to follow Baby Shark and his best friend William as they adventure in Carnivore Cove and we were lucky enough to get to speak with Luke Youngblood who will be voicing William.

Luke Youngblood is the voice of William, a quick-witted pilot fish with a flair for the funny who is always down for jaw-some adventures with his best bud Baby Shark.

BSCKids: Tell us a bit about the character you are voicing on Baby Shark’s Big Show! and how you got the role.

Luke Youngblood: I voice Baby Shark’s best friend and pilot fish, William. He is super quick-witted and very funny. But most of all, he is down for any and all adventures that he and his best bud, Baby, go on. The audition came through my agent and I met with the producers of Baby Shark’s Big Show! at Nickelodeon via Zoom since we were in the middle of a pandemic — and then, met again, and then found out that I had booked the role a few weeks later. I was so pumped!

Do you remember the first time you heard the Baby Shark song?

Funnily enough, the first time I heard the Baby Shark song was when I was doing research for the role. I know, I know, it’s unbelievable that it hadn’t worked its way into my psyche before then, but as soon as I heard it, like everybody else, I WAS HOOKED!

How does a typical day go for you when working on the show and how do you get in character?

Due to the pandemic, I (as well as the rest of my castmates) record from my home studio — meaning a closet that I have turned into a studio. I’ll roll out of bed, eat some breakfast, make some throat coat tea for my session and then sign onto Zoom. Getting into the William character, I’ll say my name a few times and then magically I am locked in and ready to go.

Do you find live-action acting or doing voice work harder for you?

Live action is definitely harder for me. There are so many moving parts and people to navigate. Whereas voiceover is a super seamless process and extremely fun.

Tell us something that people would be surprised to learn about you?

I think that people would be surprised to learn that I went to fashion school for four years. There was a period of time when I was set on becoming a designer. I had paused my acting career whilst studying at the London College of Fashion, but then the bug came back and I couldn’t resist but to dive back in again and I’m so glad that I did.

If you could guest star on any Nickelodeon show which one would it be and why?

Spongebob! Hands down. No question. It’s so funny and I would absolutely love to work with the legend that is Tom Kenny. Maybe we could magic up a Baby Shark’s Big Show! and SpongeBob SquarePants crossover in the future?

Tell us why Baby Shark’s Big Show! is the best show and why you think it really resonates with children.

Baby Shark’s Big Show! is funny, full of adventure, has an incredible cast of characters and the music is next level! If you think the Baby Shark theme is catchy, think again. We have a new musical moment in every episode, which spans all genres. Each episode of Baby Shark’s Big Show! also has a social emotional lesson woven into the storyline whether it’s about patience, facing problems directly, or staying true to your unique self.

If you could have a Baby Shark’s Big Show! toy what would it be?

I would have a Burpin’ Bubbz that was featured in our holiday special. I know that it would provide endless entertainment.

Is there anything else you are working on that you can tell us about?

BSCKids: Tell us a bit about the character you are voicing on Baby Shark’s Big Show! and how you got the role.

Kimiko Glenn: Baby is a fun-loving, bubbly, adventurous little shark who is absolutely ready for anything. He gets whacky ideas in his head and always jumps in headfirst with his best friend William. I just auditioned. It was slightly more extensive than most animation auditions, but I felt confident in what I was bringing to the character and I think they liked it!

Do you remember the first time you heard the Baby Shark song?

I can’t remember distinctly, but it was likely creeping into my social media, slowly infiltrating my subconscious until I knew it without knowing it. It’s so catchy and fun!

How does a typical day go for you when working on the show and how do you get in character?

Well, the process has changed a lot. It started out as mostly voice looping to the already finished animation and matching scratch vocals. We were playing catch-up for a while as plans for the show shifted with the pandemic. But now that we are all caught up on episodes, we are doing ensemble records with the rest of the cast on Zoom which has been super rewarding.

Do you find live-action acting or doing voice work harder for you?

Voice work is definitely a natural fit for me. I’ve always loved to sing and imitate crazy voices and characters, so it’s just like being a kid again.

Tell us something that people would be surprised to learn about you?

I am incredibly musical, but I cannot keep rhythm or snap my fingers.

If you could guest star on any Nickelodeon show which one would it be and why?

I’ve always wanted to be on All That! I was such a fan of SNL and MadTV, and I think doing a show like that would be the joy of my life.

Tell us why Baby Shark’s Big Show! is the best show and why you think it really resonates with children.

Baby Shark’s Big Show! is an amazing show because it is enjoyable for everyone! It’s geared toward preschoolers but there are some serious nuggets of comedy goodness in there for the adults to enjoy. My friends have come back to me with glowing reviews truly enjoying it, and I trust them implicitly!

If you could have a Baby Shark’s Big Show! toy what would it be?

I LOVE the character Hank. The little whale fish. Kind of obsessed. He’s so cute, I could cry. I would definitely have a little speaking stuffed animal of that character.

Is there anything else you are working on that you can tell us about?

I am currently doing several other animation projects that will be released throughout this year and I’m also shooting a third season of the YouTube hit series Liza On Demand with Liza Koshy and having a blast!

Nickelodeon UK to Premiere 'Hunter Street' Season 4 on Monday 5th April 2021

A brand-new mystery is in store for the Hunter family in the all-new fourth season of Hunter Street, premiering Monday 5th April 2021 at 8:00pm on Nickelodeon UK & Ireland!


Fun, laughs and action await viewers this upcoming season, which will follow the Hunter kids undercover to find and unite both new and ancient technology, discover that they are not the only kid members of ‘The Relatives’ as they had previously thought, and take on powerful enemies with grudges against the Hunters that threaten to tear the family apart. Hunter Street season four will air on Nickelodeon’s international channels in 170+ countries and territories.

Hunter Street will see returning stars Kyra Smith as the free-spirited Hunter sister Anika; Kate Bensdorp as Evie; Eliyha Altena as Oliver; Sarah Nauta as Jasmyn; Alyssa Guerrouche as Jennie; Tooske Ragas as Kate Hunter; Ronald Top as Erik Hunter; and Cystine Carreon as Oliver’s Mom, Dottie; and some new cast members to be announced.

Originally announced in February 2020, production of Hunter Street season 4 was originally planned to commence in May 2020, however, the announcement was made just before the world went topsy turvy due to the global COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Filming was then shifted to summer/autumn 2020.

Hunter Street is produced for an international audience by Blooming Media. The series was originally co-developed with the Nickelodeon Netherlands series, De Ludwigs.

If you're a fan of SpongeBob SquarePants, chances are that at some point in your life you’ve had a craving for a Krabby Patty.


Spend any amount of time watching Nickelodeon's beloved animated series and there is literally zero chance that you won’t eventually be licking your lips thanks to the Krusty Krab’s delicious menu.

If you live in Melbourne, your under-the-sea dreams of gorging on a Bikini Bottom dinner could finally become a reality!

South Melbourne’s The Pickle & The Patty are serving up a Bikini Bottom Degustation, inspired by the iconic Nickelodeon show.


But this is not your typical under-the-sea fast food fare, the chefs are bringing you a 5 course seafood degustation.

So you won’t exactly be able to order from the exact Galley Grub menu, but you will be able to grab a retro “Krabby Patty”, New Orleans-style shrimp Po’ Boy and a lobster roll, obvs. There'll also be neon-green Kelp Shakes to wash everything down.

It’s happening at South Melbourne’s The Pickle & The Patty on Sunday April 18 at 5PM, it’s a limited ticket event, you can grab yours here.


"We are excited to bring you our April event, a 5 course seafood degustation inspired by our favourite land under the sea. Although there will be no burgers or fried chicken in sight, expect the same love of house pickles, ferments and sauces to shine though in this very fun degustation.

Drawing inspiration from the show, menu items on the night include a retro “Krabby Patty,” New Orleans style shrimp Po’ Boy marinated in house dill fermented hot sauce and of course, a lobster roll topped with champagne pearls . To finish the night, we can guarantee a ‘gram worthy dessert where each diner will experience their very own pineapple under the sea.


Each ticket includes 5 rounds of food with a drink on arrival, with the option to chose between two different entree’ and main selections. We have also given the option to add additional food items to your ticket if you’re feeling the food FOMO kick in.

Two of Nickelodeon's unscripted properties have received nominations in the 2021 International Format Awards!


Nickelodeon's Kid of the Year has been nominated in the "Best Brand-Driven Format" category of this year's International Format Awards. Kid of the Year is a multiplatform initiative recognizing extraordinary young leaders who are making a positive impact in their communities. After whittling down an extensive list of honorees, the top 5 honorees were featured in a TV special hosted by Trevor Noah (The Daily Show with Trevor Noah) in December 2020, with 15-year-old scientist and inventor Gitanjali Rao from Colorado ultimately being recognized as Kid of the Year and featured on a cover of TIME with a companion story in TIME for KidsKid of the Year is co-produced by TIME Studios, Day Zero Productions, Mainstay Entertainment and Nickelodeon for Nickelodeon Networks, and is distributed by Nickelodeon.

Joining Kid of the Year is The Substitute, which has been nominated for the "Best Comedy Format" award. Currently in its second season, the series is hosted Mexican social media sensation Juanpa Zurita, who helps undercover celebrities pull off a day of ridiculous mayhem as the substitutes for unsuspecting kids. The series is produced by The Intellectual Property Corp for Nickelodeon Networks and distributed by Nickelodeon.

The 2021 International Format Awards were unveiled following four weeks of online voting by a panel of the world’s leading format commissioners, buyers and producers.

More than 200 formats were entered from across the globe in a year when the quality and range of the formats has not been dimmed by the pandemic. A full list of 2021 International Format Awards finalists can be found here.

The winners will be announced in a digital ceremony to be streamed on C21Media.net and the MipFormats website on April 13 at 16.00 CET.

The International Format Awards are a coproduction between C21Media, FRAPA, the Entertainment Masterclass and MipFormats.
