Netflix is reportedly planning to release The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run on its streaming service internationally on Thursday, November 5, 2020!

Update (8/25) - It has been confirmed that Netflix is currently planning to debut The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run on Thursday, November 5, 2020. This date may change nearer the future. An interesting tidbit is that Netflix currently lists the expiration date for the movie as 2030. Its unknown whether this is the actual case or just a placeholder date they've put into the system. Time will tell.

The news follows the streaming giant acquiring the international rights to the third theatrical movie inspired by Nickelodeon's beloved animated series SpongeBob SquarePants movie earlier this summer, after the film had to forego its theatrical release in most countries due to the on-going COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

In the U.S., the film will debut digitally via premium video on demand in early 2021 and then move exclusively to CBS All Access. The movie will be joined by SpongeBob prequel series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years.

The only country where the movie has been released theatrically (so far) is in Canada, where it opened on in 300 theaters on Friday, August 14, pulling in $900,000 for its opening weekend. The film will move to Netflix Canada in the near future.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run sees best friends SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star venture out of Bikini Bottom and head to the Lost City of Atlantic City on a rescue mission to save SpongeBob’s trustee snail Gary. Its the third SpongeBob film, after 2004’s The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and 2015’s The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. Those movies were commercially successful, earning over $450 million globally combined.


In Sponge on the Run, after SpongeBob’s beloved pet snail Gary is snail-napped, he and Patrick embark on an epic adventure to The Lost City of Atlantic City to bring Gary home. As they navigate the delights and dangers on this perilous and hilarious rescue mission, SpongeBob and his pals prove there’s nothing stronger than the power of friendship.

Sponge on the Run will see the cast of SpongeBob SquarePants reprise their respective roles: Tom Kenny (SpongeBob and Gary), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Douglas Lawrence (Plankton), Jill Talley (Karen), Mary Jo Catlett (Mrs. Puff), and Lori Alan (Pearl). An actor named Antonio Raul Corbo will be voicing young SpongeBob.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run will feature a raft of guest stars, including: Keanu Reeves (as a tumbleweed named Sage), Awkwafina, Reggie Watts and Snoop Dog (as a Zombie Cowboy). Cyndi Lauper (The SpongeBob Musical) has written original songs for the film.

Based on the TV series created by Stephen Hillenburg, The SpongeBob Movie is written and directed by Tim Hill, and produced by Ryan Harris, with Stephen Hillenburg exec producing. Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies present, in association with MRC A United Plankton Pictures production.

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has announced their exciting programming highlights to celebrate Children's Day 2020 (Dia das Crianças) on Monday 12th October 2020!

Séries The Thundermans, Bob Esponja, The Loud House, Dorg Van Dango e Danger Force estão na programação

Em comemoração ao Dia das Crianças, amanhã, dia 12, o canal pago Nickelodeon dará start à nova programação. Amanhã, a partir das 13h, a Nick exibe os episódios mais incríveis das séries The Thundermans, Bob Esponja, The Loud House, Dorg Van Dango e Danger Force. Serão quatro horas de muita diversão.

No sábado todos poderão curtir O Portal do Ollie, às 16h, animação que conta sobre um menino de 13 anos que, com a ajuda de seus melhores amigos, Cleo e Bernie, e do treinador de monstros, o Capitão Wowski, protege e controla um portal da sua mochila para o mundo dos monstros! Às 18h será a vez de Dorg Van Dango – história de um unicórnio superlegal, um curioso alienígena, uma bruxa das antigas e um misterioso fantasma como melhores amigos, que são secretos.

O Despertar das Tartarugas Ninja terá estreia no domingo, dia 18, às 19h. As Tartarugas Ninja estão de volta e desta vez elas têm novos poderes incríveis.

Vivo libera canais infantis para celebrar o Dia das Crianças

Os canais Nick Jr, Nickelodeon, TV Rá Tim Bum, Tooncast, Boomerang, Gloob, Globinho, Nat Geo Kids e Disney XD estarão disponíveis.

Clientes do serviço de TV da Vivo vão poder usufruir dos conteúdos infantis da grade da operadora, sem bloqueios. Os canais Nick Jr, Nickelodeon, TV Rá Tim Bum, Tooncast, Boomerang, Gloob, Globinho, Nat Geo Kids e Disney XD estarão disponíveis com diversas programações para entreter toda a criançada. Dia das Crianças: SKY abre sinal de mais de dez canais infantis para celebrar data

Às vésperas de mais um Dia das Crianças, as empresas se movimentam para ações e promoções especiais para celebrar a data. No caso da SKY, a operadora anunciou nesta sexta-feira (9) o sinal aberto de dez canais infantis para clientes pós e pré-pago com recarga ativa.

Os canais inclusos na campanha são estes: Boomerang, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Gloobinho, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nat Geo Kids, Tooncast e ZooMoo Kids a todos os assinantes, além de Disney Channel e Gloob, aos usuários do SKY Pré-Pago. O período vai de 9 até 18 de outubro.

Como é possível conferir no vídeo acima, produzido para o Canal do Cliente da operadora, a gravação mostra o muppet Churro, no “Show do Churro”, divulgando os principais conteúdos disponíveis também sob demanda, na plataforma SKY Play.

Durante o mês de outubro, o Boomerang exibe, às sextas-feiras, a partir das 19h, os novos episódios de “Zuzubalândia” e, no dia 08 de outubro, às 19h30, o canal traz a festa à fantasia mais assustadora no “Especial Oddbods: Party Monsters”. Já quem chega ao Gloobinho são os amigos Tina e Tony. A elefanta e o hipopótomo que, em muitas maneiras, se assemelham a duas crianças, desbravam o mundo em que vivem em busca de suas identidades. Na animação inédita, que estreia no dia 12 de outubro, às 11h, os personagens desenvolvem suas habilidades para se comunicar e lidar com cada emoção da nova infância.

Também no Dia das Crianças, em 12 de outubro, a diversão começa logo de manhã: às 8h, o canal Disney XD traz uma maratona especial de Ducktales e Phineas & Ferb. Às 12h, começa o especial de filmes no NatGeo Kids com os títulos: The Smurfs, Blinky Bill: O Filme, Kikoriki: A Lenda do Dragão Dourado, Cãestronautas, Um Halloween Monstruoso e Os Smurfs. Às 18h, todos podem conferir os planos de Lincon, no canal Nickelodeon, para sobreviver à rotina com cinco irmãs mais velhas e outras cinco irmãs mais novas em “The Loud House”.

Além de comemorar o Dia das Crianças, o canal Tooncast também preparou uma programação especial para o mês mais assustador do ano. O Especial de Halloween apresentará muitos mistérios com “As Terríveis Aventuras de Billy e Mandy”, “Coragem, o Cão Covarde” e “Scooby-Doo!”, com exibição de segunda a sexta, às 09h e 21h, e aos fins de semana às 10h30 e 22h30.

Ainda no dia 12 de outubro, o canal ZooMoo Kids traz muitas novidades. Entre elas, a estreia de “Cineminha Animazoo”, com as histórias animadas de Léo, Danda, Kako e Caio, às 12h e 20h; e os novos episódios de Zooparky, que traz o clima da amizade em um parque cheio de aventuras, música e diversão, às 15h30 e 18h30. No mesmo dia, às 15h e 18h, tem a girafinha mais inteligente da TV, na “Maratona Giramille”; e a seleção escolhida pela audiência nos Favoritos do ZooMoo Kids, às 11h30, 13h30 e 17h30. 

Além disso, o canal Disney Junior traz especiais do programa “As Manhãs com Mickey”, o novo bloco matinal que conta com apresentação de Mickey, e o Nick Jr. apresenta episódios de “Patrulha Canina”.

Nickelodeon is expanding the world of the number-one kids’ series, Henry Danger, with the launch of Danger Force, a brand-new original live-action spinoff premiering this October on Nickelodeon International!

Created and executive produced by Christopher J. Nowak (Henry Danger, Sam & Cat), the new series stars two of the most beloved characters from Henry Danger, “Ray/Captain Man” (Cooper Barnes) and “Schwoz” (Michael D. Cohen), and introduces four new superheroes-in-training as they team up to fight crime in their town of Swellview. Danger Force (13 episodes) is produced by Barnes and Jace Norman (Henry Danger), and production for the series is currently underway.

Danger Force will premiere on Nickelodeon's international feeds on Sunday 18th October 2020. Following launch, new episodes will continue to air every Sunday. Below is a list of airtimes for Danger Force:

“A key part of our content strategy is to grow original franchises like Henry Danger by expanding their worlds through new characters and more high-stakes adventures,” said Brian Robbins, President, Kids & Family Entertainment, ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks. “We’re spinning off our Henry Danger mega-hit into Danger Force, where a new set of characters join members of the original cast for a wholly new take on this long-running series.”


In Danger Force, four kids--Chapa (Havan Flores), Miles (Terrence Little Gardenhigh), Mika (Dana Heath) and Bose (Luca Luhan)--are recruited to attend Swellview Academy for the Gifted (SW.A.G. for short), a school conceived by Captain Man and brought to life by Schwoz, after having been accidentally mutated in the fight to save Swellview. While there, the kids must learn to harness their frequently troublesome and sometimes uncontrollable superpowers as they begin to fight crime. Despite the dangerous circumstances of their new lives, the superheroes must keep their real identities a secret from both from their families and the villains who are out to destroy them.

Danger Force’s four brand-new superheroes-in-training were introduced in the final episodes of Henry Danger. Henry Danger is Nick’s longest running live-action sitcom, with 128 episodes across five seasons. For 2019 and year to date, the series is the number-one show for Kids 6-11 on all TV.

Production of Danger Force is overseen for Nickelodeon by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live-Action Scripted Content. Omar Camacho serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.

Danger Force made its world premiere on Nickelodeon USA on Saturday, March 28, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

Danger Force underscores a key element of Nickelodeon's content strategy, to build and expand the worlds of its enormously popular franchises like Henry Danger, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Blue's Clues & You!, among others, to give audiences more of what they love. Are You Afraid of the Dark? is locally titled ¿Te da miedo la oscuridad? in Spain and Félsz a sötétben? in Hungary.

Across the three hour-long episodes, Are You Afraid of the Dark? will follow members of an entirely new Midnight Society, who tell a terrifying tale of the Carnival of Doom and its evil ringmaster Mr. Tophat, only to witness the shocking story come frightfully to life. In the just-released trailer, viewers meet the new members of the Midnight Society, get a glimpse at the uncertainty that awaits and prepare for an adventure beyond their wildest nightmares.

In Part One, "Submitted For Approval", tormented by nightmares, the new girl in school feels and out of place until a mysterious group invites her to join. All she has to do is tell a truly terrifying story.

In Part Two, "Opening Night", when a friend's disappearance seems to be linked to Rachel's story, the Midnight Society decides to attend the Carnival of Doom. Is it the same carnival from her nightmares? How?

In Part Three, "Destroy All Tophats", with her friends' lives at stake, Rachel decides to take charge and end Mr. Tophat's reign of terror. Will the story have a happy ending, or is the Midnight Society doomed?

The new members of the Midnight Society are: Rachel, played by Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick); Gavin, played by Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.); Akiko, played by Miya Cech (Rim of the World, Always Be My Maybe); Graham, played by Jeremy Taylor (IT: Chapter Two, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween); and Louise, played by Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl, The Worst Witch). The Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, is played by Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).

Are You Afraid of the Dark? is produced by ACE Entertainment (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Perfect Date) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers. The series is written by BenDavid Grabinski (Skiptrace, Happily) and directed by Dean Israelite (Power Rangers movie, Project Almanac), both of whom are also executive producers. Chris Foss is also an executive producer.

One of the Nickelodeon’s most iconic series from the ‘90s, the original Are You Afraid of the Dark? delivered riveting stories of horror to young audiences, all from a kid’s perspective. Are You Afraid of the Dark? is owned by DHX and was created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel, who are also executive producers on the project.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? made its world premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT), as part of the network's Halloween programming highlights. A second season has been commissioned and an podcast series is in the works.

Eric Robles Confirms There Were Plans for a 'Glitch Techs'/'TMNT' Crossover

Could Nickelodeon have been planning a crossover between Glitch Techs and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?


Update (9/13) -Glitch Techs co-creator Eric Robles has confirmed that a Glitch Techs and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover was planned! Titled "Glitchy Mutant Ninja Turtles" (#209), the unproduced episode features TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman as the voice of Shredder, Glitch Mutant and "Booming Voice"!:

Update (10/12) - Dan Milano shared a glimpse of the Glitch Techs/TMNT crossover!:


In a recent tweet, cartoonist Dan Milano (Greg the Bunny, Warren the Ape), a co-creator of Glitch Techs hinted that a Glitch Techs/Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover was planned at one stage!

A little history about Glitch Techs: when Nickelodeon originally picked up the show in 2016, they initially ordered 20 episodes for season one. The series then got picked up for an additional 10 episodes. These 10 episodes were written, storyboarded and designed before Nickelodeon placed on the show on hiatus, so unfortunately never got animated and are sitting inside Nickelodeon’s server. However, if enough people watch Glitch Techs, which finally debuted on Netflix in February, there is a chance the remaining episodes will be made.

Whilst retweeting a piece Glitch Techs fan art, Dan mentioned "All I can say is peeps r really gonna want those currently unfinished eps of ours to get produced. Thx for this awesome art!!!"


What makes Dan's comment more interesting is that the fan art features Donnie from Rise of the TMNT as a Glitch Tech.

Could this mean that a Glitch Techs/RTMNT was once planned by Nickelodeon? It's certainly not impossible, looking at the facts:

-- Both shows are animated by Flying Bark Productions

-- Both shows shared some of the same staff whilst in production at Nickelodeon Animation.

-- Nickelodeon is producing a Rise of the TMNT animated movie for Netflix.

- TMNT (as a franchise) has crossed over with other franchises before, including Batman and Power Rangers.

Even if there was Rise of the TMNT/Glitch Techs crossover once planned, unfortunately it seems like there's little chance that we'll get to see it. Glitch Techs ended production in January 2019, and Rise of the TMNT is speculated to be out of production at the moment, too.

The only real chance that we'll see this crossover, if it was indeed once in the pipeline, was by tuning in and spreading the world about Glitch Techs, which is available now on Netflix, and the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie which is set to debut on the streaming service soon.

SMITE Announces Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Pass

The iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will soon become playable characters in the hit mythological action video game SMITE, publisher Hi-Rez Studios and developer Titan Forge Games announced!


This epic crossover event will see Donatello, Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo face their toughest challenge yet: SMITE’s Battleground of the Gods. Can the Heroes in a Half Shell stop evil gods of ancient myth like Hades, Jormungandr, Medusa, and Thanatos?

For this event, players will be able to gain access to four new skins for existing SMITE gods, each representing a different Ninja Turtle. There is also an alternate skin for each Turtle available through the prestige track. These cel-shaded skins are called Radical skins and more closely resemble their early animated appearances:

- Leonardo, Radical Leonardo (Osiris)
- Donatello, Radical Donatello (Sun Wukong)
- Raphael, Radical Raphael (Loki)
- Michelangelo, Radical Michelangelo (Mercury)

Each of the Ninja Turtles has a skin that can be used with a specific character. For Leonardo, players will have the abilities and powers of Osiris. Donatello is represented by Sun Wukong, another bo staff user, while Raphael is a skin for Loki. Finally, players wanting to play Michelangelo will use the powers of Mercury, using his skateboard to keep up with the God of Speed's insane movement capabilities. Reception to these choices are mixed, with some players questioning why Kuzenbo, the actual Japanese Turtle God, wasn't used as the base for at least one of the Ninja Turtles.

And, yes, you can also unlock a “cowabunga” emote.


In general, fans are very excited about this inclusion, though some are starting to notice a pattern. The last major cross over event held in SMITE was with Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, franchises also owned by Nickelodeon. This connection has prompted many to jokingly speculate that SMITE signed some sort of deal with Nickelodeon, and that more characters from that network might make their way into the game soon. Some popular requests in the video's comment section include SpongeBob and Drake and Josh (will Smite play on the GameSphere?), but fans are going wild with other predictions as well.


Though they aren't featured in the reveal video above, the Turtles' mentor Splinter and nemesis Shredder are also confirmed to be coming to the game, as SMITE shared images of the two characters on Twitter. Players are speculating that Shredder will be a Ravana skin while Splinter will be a Hachiman skin, but SMITE will reveal that information on Wednesday's TMNT update show at 3 PM ET.


SMITE’s unique blend of third-person action combat and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) strategy has attracted more than 30 million players to the Battleground of the Gods. SMITE features an ever-growing roster of 100+ Gods and Goddesses from pantheons around the world and throughout history, and is free to play on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).

Hi-Rez went all in on the nostalgia on announcing the Turtley Awesome news, even including the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song in the reveal trailer.

SMITE has a history of crossing over with some pretty bizarre franchises, having already done collaboration events with the likes of Avatar: The Last Airbender& The Legend of Korra, and RWBY, and even Bob Ross. Though these crossovers add a certain degree of silliness to the game, fans seem to love them and Hi-Rez is keeping them coming. 

The TMNT Battle Pass will become available in November 2020.

Nickelodeon UK Network Ratings for week of Monday 28th September 2020 - Sunday 4th October 2020.


Viewing figures were down generally across the Nickelodeon network compared to the previous week (Sept. 21-27), according to BARB data. Danger Force, the spin-off from hit series Henry Danger continued to do well. Nickelodeon's Unfiltered, Nick's new virtually produced game show made its Top 15 debut, and It's Pony also made a welcome appearance.

Horrid Henry was Nicktoons' top TV show for the week, with new show Dorg Van Dango also returning to the channel's Top 15.
