London - Kid rapper and pint-sized powerhouse Young Dylan will join the Nickelodeon UK & Ireland family with the premiere of the brand-new live-action series, Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan in June 2020. Executive produced, directed and written by Perry, the series follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, Young Dylan (Dylan Gilmer), an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced. Michelle Sneed is also an executive producer, with Will Areu and Mark E. Swinton serving as producers. The series wrapped its first season on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Ga.
In Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, Dylan’s grandmother Viola (Aloma Wright) realizes that raising her grandson is too much to take on, so she decides to send him to live indefinitely with her affluent son Myles Wilson (Carl Anthony Payne II), his wife Yasmine (Mieko Hillman) and their two kids Rebecca (Celina Smith) and Charlie (Hero Hunter). Suddenly, the Wilson family household needs to adapt as lifestyles clash between rising hip-hop star Young Dylan and his straight-laced cousins. From Dylan giving Charlie, Rebecca, and her best friend Bethany (Jet Miller), lessons in “swag” and street smarts, to learning that even rappers have rules in the Wilson house, the series follows the hilarious hijinks this family faces as they try to get on the same beat.
Nickelodeon’s partnership with Perry is part of his long-term pact with ViacomCBS, producing original series for BET Networks (The Oval and Sistas) and other ViacomCBS networks, with exclusive licensing rights on this programming. Additionally, Perry recently announced his joint venture with BET Networks for the new streaming video on demand service BET+. Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan marks Perry’s first kids’ scripted series.
Born and raised in Annapolis, Md., Gilmer is known for his many appearances and performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at NBA All-Star Weekend. Gilmer has an overall talent deal with Telepictures, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Television, and has previously guest starred on the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit series All That.

Nickelodeon is celebrating “Tuesday Blue’s Day” all month long with episodes of the preschool hybrid hit Blue’s Clues & You! on air, and all-new virtual playdates with series host Josh (Josh Dela Cruz) on linear and Nick Jr.’s social channels beginning Tuesday, May 5.
In the brand-new episode “Science with Blue,” airing Tuesday, May 5, at 9 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, gospel sensation Yolanda Adams lends her voice to the character of the Sun, a stellar singer with a radiant personality. Josh and Blue meet her while exploring outer space and she leads them in a catchy song about the solar system. Adams previously wrote “Super Sea Star Savior” for The SpongeBob Musical.
Additionally, the network will debut original Blue’s Clues & You! virtual playdates that will let preschoolers sing, play, move and learn with Josh and Blue in all-new ways from the comfort of their own homes. The 10-minute playdates will be available Tuesdays at 9 a.m. (ET) on Nickelodeon, as well as the official Blue's Clues & You! YouTube channel and Nick Jr.’s Instagram and Facebook throughout the month of May.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—May 6, 2020—Nickelodeon is challenging the medium with two brand-new virtually interactive greenlights premiering this summer--Group Chat: The Show and Game Face (working titles). Hosted by social media stars Annie LeBlanc and Jayden Bartels, Group Chat: The Show is a video chat rundown of the week’s latest hot topics, taken directly from what kids love and are talking about across social media. Game Face is a game show that features a star-studded panel that must guess the identities of virtually disguised celebrity guests.
“Group Chat: The Show and Game Face will bring together kids’ favorite celebrities and topics in a format meant to live across all Nickelodeon screens,” said Ashley Kaplan, Senior Vice President, Digital Studios. “The virtual filming of these shows will provide the fun escape kids crave, but also let them know that we understand what they’re going through and are listening to what they have to say.”
Group Chat: The Show (six episodes) is a new pop culture talk show hosted by Annie LeBlanc and Jayden Bartels, co-stars of Nickelodeon’s Side Hustle. Each episode will also feature Hayley LeBlanc (Mani), along with fan-favorite stars, as they talk about the hottest trend topics of the week based on what kids are currently discussing across social media, play games and compete in challenges--all via video chat. Group Chat: The Show premieres Saturday, May 23, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
In Game Face (six episodes), celebrities’ true identities are hidden behind an animated filter and voice changer in the game show, while a star-studded panel is given wacky clues and competes to decipher the mystery guest. Viewers can get in on the fun by downloading the show’s filters to transform into the same characters as their favorite celebrities. A host will be announced at a later date. Game Face will begin remote production this month, with a premiere slated for Saturday, June 13, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
Since March 16, the Nickelodeon portfolio (Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons and TeenNick) has posted double-digits gains with Kids 6-11, up +24% versus prior four weeks and +5% year over year. Over the last month, Nickelodeon has posted double-digit gains, up +22% with Kids 6-11 (1.1/148,000) versus prior four weeks.
Nickelodeon’s YouTube channels (Nickelodeon, SpongeBob, All That, America’s Most Musical Family, Nick Animation, NickRewind, Henry Danger, The Loud House and The Casagrandes) have posted double-digit increases in consumption. The weekly average for the week of 3/15/20 – week of 4/19/20 was up +75% in views, and +95% in watch time compared to the 10 weeks prior (week 1/5/20 – week 3/8/20).

Cisneros Media’s Mobius.LAB Kids has signed an agreement with ViacomCBS Networks Americas to develop a new children’s series for Nick Jr. and the Noggin SVOD platform in Latin America!
The new 26-episode preschool series will be a fusion of live-action and mixed-media, with humor and friendship serving as the main drivers of the story. It will be available in Spanish and Portuguese on Nick Jr. and Noggin throughout the region. Preproduction is slated to begin this month.
Ailing Zubizarreta, Vice President (VP) of content development and creative services at Cisneros Media, said: “We are thrilled to seal this agreement and set off on our second original production for Nickelodeon. The preschool segment is comprised of the Alpha Generation. They are digital natives who require a unique and innovative approach.”

Nickelodeon is counting down the most out of control pranks from the hidden camera show The Substitute with a new special: The Substitute Top 10 Wildest Pranks. Revealing the hit series’ funniest and craziest moments, the special will include bonus, never-before-seen footage and show guest stars Asher Angel, Cooper Barnes, The Bella Twins, John Cena, Kel Mitchell, NE-YO, Jace Norman, Johnny Orlando, Rico & Raini Rodriguez, Lilly Singh, JoJo Siwa and Shaun White. The Substitute Top 10 Wildest Pranks premieres Saturday, May 9, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
The Substitute features celebrities who are transformed by a team of Hollywood special effects artists to go undercover as the most insane substitutes, surprising unsuspecting kids in schools, camps and other locations. After a day full of ridiculous mayhem, the substitute reveals themselves and the featured school receives a donation for $25,000.
Season one of The Substitute premiered January 31 with guest stars The Bella Twins after previewing in October with international superstar John Cena and in November for a holiday-themed episode with Grammy Award-winning artist and performer NE-YO. Johannesburg, 05 May 2020: African culture proud, multiple award winning rapper and singer Sho Madjozi and actor, comedian and social media sensation Prev Reddy scooped the 2020 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for Favourite African Star and Favourite African Social Media Star respectively. The channel is set to premiere the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together, on Friday, May 08 at 16:10 p.m. (CAT) on NickToons (DSTV Channel 308). The show will be hosted by Victoria Justice (Victorious) and will be jam-packed with stars, surprises and slime. Kids around the world cast millions of votes for their favourite celebrities, movies, games and more, this year’s virtually produced show will reveal the winners through some of the most creative orange-blimp acceptances in KCA history.

Sho Madjozi was nominated alongside Shekhinah, Teni and Patricia Kihoro in the Favourite African Star category. Prev Reddy was nominated in the Favourite African Social Media Star category with Anne Kansiime, DJ Cuppy and Chané Grobler.
With appearances from cast members of The Avengers: Endgame (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner), and a sneak peek of Nickelodeon’s new live-action series The Astronauts, from Imagine Entertainment, Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together will also feature segments unlike any other awards show including: JoJo Siwa discovering slime secretly placed in every area of her home; a performance by recording artist and actor Asher Angel of his chart-topping single “All Day”; and an exclusive look at Nick’s Slime in Space voyage.

During this year’s show, NBA champion and global icon LeBron James received the 2020 Generation Change Award, honouring his commitment to creating real and lasting change through education. The LeBron James Family Foundation’s ground-breaking I PROMISE School serves his hometown’s most at-risk students and their entire families with the support, programming and wide-ranging resources they need to succeed in the classroom and at home, creating a new model for urban, public education.
As part of its longstanding connection and dedication to kids, Nickelodeon will support the mission of No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America, and present within the show a $1 million donation in support of those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Every day that schools are closed, kids in need miss nearly 34 million school meals. No Kid Hungry is working to ensure every kid gets three meals a day during this time of crisis and all year long.

Nigerian music superstars Teni and DJ Cuppy have been nominated for the Favourite African Star and Social Media Star respectively in Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020. The event, which will be hosted by American Rapper Chance The Rapper, will take place at the Forum in Inglewood, California on Sunday, 22 March 2020 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT), simulcasting live on Nickelodeon in the U.S. and YTV in Canada, as well as stream across Nickelodeon's YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter handles and channels. Within hours of the live show, KCA 2020 will roll-out on Nickelodeon channels internationally, providing kids around the world in more than 170 countries and territories a front row seat to all the stunts, surprises and slime! In Africa, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 will broadcast on Nick Toons (DStv Channel 308) on Monday, 23 March 2020 at 17:30 CAT, 24 hours after the event in the USA. The show will also be repeated on Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305) on Wednesday, 25 March 2020 at 18:00 CAT.
Also nominated are international superstars Will Smith, Beyonce, Kelvin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran, Angelina Jolie and many more. Leading the pack with the most nominations are Avengers: Endgame, with 11 nominations; Taylor Swift, with five nominations; and Frozen 2, Henry Danger and Lil Nas X, with four nominations each. DJ Cuppy has earned a nomination at the 2020 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

The Gouws family wins a trip to LA for the Nickeoldeon Kids' Choice Awards
This week on 947, the 947 Breakfast Club was looking for the ultimate ‘Nickelodeon Superfam’ - a family that eats, sleeps and breathes Nickelodeon. They wanted to send one lucky Joburg family to the 2020 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California!
Each day from Monday to Thursday, two families went up against each other, hoping to make it to the ig finale - which took place on Friday 21 February 2020.

'Aunty Shamilla' nominated in Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award
Durban - INTERNET sensation Preven Reddy has been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, in the African Social Star category. Having merged stand-up comedy with his experience in filmmaking, Reddy has garnered thousands of followers on social media.
His most popular alter-ego is his portrayal of his mother as “Aunty Shamilla”.
“I knew that the internet was where entertainment was going and I wanted to find a way to make a career out of it.”
The online antics led to Reddy, of Queensburgh, performing at several sold-out shows in South Africa.
“Aunty Shamilla was never supposed to happen. In the first video I did of her, she did not have a name or a back story. I just had an idea to create a video about what happened between my mom and I earlier that day and, before I knew it, so many people related to that situation. They also liked the way I portrayed my mother.”
After reading the positive comments, he decided to hone down on the character.
“And I eventually turned that character into Aunty Shamilla.”
A day before Valentine’s Day, Reddy received a call from the Nickelodeon team. He was told he was nominated for a Kids Choice Award.
Nickelodeon is an American pay television network, launched in 1977 as the first cable channel for children.
“I still cannot believe it’s real. I got to do some stuff at the Nickelodeon pop-ups at Comic Con last year and it was really fun. But I did not expect this. I cried for a solid 10 minutes.”
He said, while in primary and high school, he used to watch the awards with his grandmother.
Reddy added that, at the start of every year, he made a vision board - where he set goals and visualised where he wanted to be by the end of the year.
“This year, I stuck a logo of Nickelodeon on the vision board. I knew I wanted to work with them or be a part of that fun world. And a month later - here we are.”
Reddy added that African categories were fairly new and that a friend went through previous nominees, as well as winners, only to find there were no Indian South Africans.
His message to his fans: “Thank you to everyone who have supported and been a part of this journey with me. This feels like the beginning and I would love to bring this award home to South Africa.”
The other nominees in the category are: Anne Kansiime, Chanè Grobler and DJ Cuppy.
The nominees in the Favourite African Star category are: Patricia Kihoro, Shekhinah, Sho Madjozi and Teni.

DURBAN comedian Prev Reddy said he was so happy that he cried at being nominated for the prestigious Nickelodeon 2020 Kids’ Choice Awards. Durban - Aunty Shamilla, Durban actor and comedian Prev Reddy’s alter ego, will be shaking things up with some of Africa’s top stars as she vies for a top Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award. Reddy has been nominated in the Favourite Social Star (Africa) category and was taken by surprise when he heard about the nomination.
“I screamed and cried,” he said when he got the news.
The Kids’ Choice Awards is one of the most popular awards on the awards calendar and belongs to international pay television network Nickelodeon.
This year’s awards, to be held on March22, will be its 33rd edition.
For Reddy, being nominated was a huge achievement. He is the only KwaZulu-Natal representative among the SA Nickelodeon nominees.
Also flying the national flag are musicians Shekhinah, Sho Madjozi and vlogger Chané Grobler in the Favourite African Star and Favourite Social Media Star (Africa) categories respectively.
Reddy will be competing with Grobler, Ugandan entertainer Anne Kansiime and Nigerian disc jockey DJCuppy for the Favourite Social Media Star (Africa) category.
“I used to watch the Kids’ Choice Awards with my gran as a child,” Reddy recalled. The 24-year-old said it had been his goal for the year that he would do something that involved Nickelodeon. His family were also in shock and happy about the nomination, Reddy said.
He was thrilled about the nomination because it also meant that his work was being recognised abroad.
Reddy’s videos on social media have been viewed thousands of times. He said the nomination validated his work, but this did not mean he would be resting on his laurels: “I can push and take it to the next level.”
Winners this year will be partly determined by the number of votes they receive. Reddy urged people to go to the Nickelodeon website (https://kca.nickelodeonafrica.com/vote/) and vote for him.

Prev Reddy talks his Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards nomination
The KZN entertainer and actor has been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award in the African Social Star category.
Officially, Prev Reddy is the first South African-Indian to be nominated for a Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award! Sharing his excitement with Darren, Keri, and Sky, he says he is truly honoured to be nominated.
His alter ego, Aunty Shamila, constantly leaves social media in stitches. Throw in sold-out shows in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban, and Prev is quickly becoming a household name.
Prev has been nominated alongside other favourite African stars Patricia Kihoro, Shekhinah, Sho Madjozi, and Teni.
Grateful for all the support he's received from friends and family across the country, he took to social media to announce his nomination:

Kenyan entertainer Patricia Kihoro has been nominated for this year’s 2020 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards.
Ms Kihoro is nominated for ‘Favorite African Star’ category. The annual American children’s awards ceremony show that is produced by Nickelodeon.
Usually held on a Saturday night in late March or early April, the show honours the year’s biggest television, movie, and music acts as voted by viewers worldwide of Nickelodeon networks.
Ms Kohoro took to social media and requested her fans to vote for her.
She wrote: “I really didn’t see this coming. Thank you to everyone who’s been asking how to vote, sharing and being so encouraging. I honestly didn’t think it was real. It was announced just under a month ago but I don’t know, kinda trippy seeing my name in the same sentence as all those folks. Ha. A whole Beyonce even. When. I figured it might be a mistake.”
Patricia is nominated alongside African stars like Sho Madjozi and Shekhinah, Anne Kansiime, DJ Cuppy, Teni, Chane Grobler and Prev Reddy.
Global stars on the award show, which will be hosted by Chance The Rapper, include Beyonce, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and Selena Gomez.
The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 will be broadcast on Nick Toons (DStv Channel 308) on Monday, March 23, at 5.30pm – 24hours after the event in the US.
Durban's 'Aunty Shamilla' wins Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award
Durban - Durban comedian Preven Reddy has won a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, in the African Social Star category.
Reddy, who goes by the alter ego of Aunty Shamilla, received a phone call in February, where he was informed he had been nominated for the award.
He posted on Facebook earlier today: "I have been crying happy tears all morning. We actually did it. Thank you so much to every single person who voted for me continuously. I am genuinely at a loss for words, this is so so surreal. Thank you for believing in me South Africa."
On his nomination Reddy told POST that while in primary and high school, he used to watch the awards with his grandmother and knew he wanted to work with them someday.
“I got to do some stuff at the Nickelodeon pop-ups at Comic Con last year and it was really fun. But I did not expect this. I cried for a solid 10 minutes," Reddy told POST.
Nickelodeon is an American pay television network, launched in 1977 as the first cable channel for children.
Reddy has almost 50 000 followers on social media.

On the heels of her 'Best New International Act' BET award, Sho Madjozi continues to collect international honors one after the other.
South African rapper Sho Madjozi was recently named "Favourite African Star" at this year's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the event took place virtually and was hosted by actress and singer Victoria Justice. This is Sho Madjozi's second international award following her "Best New International Act" BET award last year in June. Additionally, South African actor and comedian Prev Reddy was awarded "Favourite African Social Media Star".
The "John Cena" superstar took to social media to express her gratitude at having received the award saying, "Our job is to work, move forward and never reverse; Nickelodeon, thank you for this amazing award and to everyone that voted." She went on to add, "World, we have one message for you, Africa is coming and we are coming for you."
Monde Twala, Senior Vice President and General Manager of ViacomCBS Networks Africa commented on Sho Madjozi's win saying: "This incredible win comes at a crucial time for us as the continent observes and celebrates Africa Month. Former National Rugby League (NRL) star and Fox League commentator Michael Ennis' 11-year-old daughter Kobyfox, is preparing for her television debut on Nickelodeon Australia!
And on Wednesday (6th May 2020), the 36-year-old retired footballer told The Daily Telegraph's Confidential the advice he gave Kobyfox on dealing with nerves.
Michael said he encouraged her to be 'authentic' and to just 'have fun'.
'I don't think anyone can ever question you when you're yourself,' he added.
'She's a really vibrant, young girl, and loves to have fun, and I tell her to show that, be confident and just be yourself.'
Kobyfox will make her Kid Crew debut on season two of READY SET DANCE, premiering on Nick Jr. Australia on Monday 11th May 2020.
The show encourages preschoolers to build confidence, creativity and coordination, through energetic dance videos. This unique Australian series was developed in collaboration with expert preschool dance educators and dance studio owners Jade Barnes, Belinda Agostino, Natalie Ettingshausen, Glenda Yee and Priscilla Severino. The five successful entrepreneurs launched their innovative class-based dance program for preschoolers, also titled READY SET DANCE, after identifying a gap in the market. This program is currently licensed to over 200 dance schools around Australia and New Zealand.

Michael shares Kobyfox with wife Simone Ennis, and announced in 2016 that he was retiring at the end of the season to spend more time with his family.
'It's time to be a dad, it's time to go and spend some time with my family,' the former Cronulla Sharks hooker said at the time.
'I love the game, I think I'll always love the game. I love my relationships with my teammates and the people that run the football clubs.
'But it's time to be honest and be open and that was today. While I still think I've got a really good 10 or 12 weeks ahead of me, I can tip all my energy into that. But that's it.'
Michael went on to describe his sporting career as 'a hell of a journey' with 'plenty of us and downs along the way'.

Nickelodeon has released its first-ever augmented reality (AR) app Do Not Touch in Australia!
Launched in Australia on Tuesday 5th May 2020, the app allows users to bring Nickelodeon’s iconic properties to life in a new and exciting way.
Do Not Touch users experience interactive surprises and mini-games in the app which highlight Nickelodeon's properties including SpongeBob SquarePants, The Loud House, Slime and the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards blimp, along with original animations.
The app makes Nickelodeon’s recognisable 'Do Not Touch' button found on Nickelodeon's official websites and the Nickelodeon Play app, and the animations and interactive experiences it randomly generates, seem to appear in a user’s surrounding physical space when viewed through a mobile device’s camera.
Moving a device allows users to see the action from all angles on the screen, and tapping characters and objects reveals more surprises.
The award-winning app will rollout new games and features on a weekly basis to keep users entertained and engaged.
