Viacom Partners with Okko in Russia

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has reached a distribution agreement with Russian online streaming platform, Okko. As part of the deal, Viacom’s kids’ content is now available to Okko’s subscribers for the first time, giving them Video on Demand (VoD) access to a raft of popular Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. content.


Popular shows set to debut on the platform will include PAW Patrol, The Loud House, Dora the Explorer, Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

Elena Balmont, Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Viacom International Media Networks in Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Baltic States and CIS said: “We are really excited to collaborate with Okko, which are one of the leading OTT platforms in Russia. The deal will bring our most popular Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. shows to millions of subscribers across the region, not only via their televisions but also through their mobile devices and consoles.”

Ivan Grodetsky, CEO of Okko, added: “At Okko we always strive to provide customers with a wide variety of quality content from around the world. This new deal with Viacom will bring the best of pre-school and animated content directly to our platform, allowing access to the most exciting Nickelodeon shows at any time of day.”

Онлайн-кинотеатр Okko закупил контент Nickelodeon и MTV

Онлайн-кинотеатр Okko заключил сделку с американской ViacomCBS Networks Russia, соглашение включает «несколько тысяч единиц контента», в том числе права на контент брендов Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central, Channel 5 и MTV, сообщили “Ъ” в Okko. Сумма сделки не раскрывается.

В рамках сделки Okko становится «крупнейшим партнером ViacomCBS Networks International в сегменте видео по запросу в России», заявила старший вице-президент ViacomCBS Networks International в России, странах СНГ, Балтии, Украине и Грузии Елена Бальмонт. Сделка предполагает эксклюзивные права, в частности, на цифровые премьеры ViacomCBS, при этом «Щенячий патруль», «Губка Боб Квадратные Штаны» и «Эволюция Черепашек-ниндзя» «будут доступны пользователям онлайн-кинотеатра до показа в телевизионном эфире». «Онлайн-кинотеатр приобрел права на более чем 3 тыс. единиц контента»,— заявил собеседник, знакомый с условиями соглашения.

Как писал “Ъ” 12 сентября 2019 года, ранее крупную сделку с Viacom заключил конкурент Okko — онлайн-кинотеатр ivi. В соглашение вошли 75 сезонов анимационных сериалов, включая «Щенячий патруль», «Губка Боб Квадратные Штаны», «Даша-путешественница», «Черепашки-ниндзя» и др., предполагалось, что еще около 100 новых сезонов анимационных сериалов будут доступны в сервисе режима catch up («вслед за эфиром»). Также сделка включала права на вещание десяти телеканалов Viacom.

Что новенького в феврале

Хоть февраль и короткий, статья будет довольно длинной :)

Запасайся терпением и читай до конца, ведь у нас много хороших новостей! Начнём с новых серий в эфире Nickelodeon, а продолжим марафонами и новинками Nickelodeon HD.

А это тебе вместо валентинки, для важных переговоров :) Скоро ведь 14 февраля!

Ты много спрашиваешь, где же все наши новые шоу? Отвечаем: с 17 февраля смотри премьеру «Просто добавь магии»! Сериал про трёх подружек, начнётся с чердака и загадочной книги, полной магических рецептов, а продолжится он невероятными и волшебными приключениями.

Пропускать не советуем — ведь все мы немножко соскучились по магии :) Запоминай расписание: с понедельника по четверг показываем новые серии в 15:45 МСК, а в пятницу в то же время повторяем все четыре эпизода, вышедшие за неделю.

А теперь к новым сериям

У «Радужно-бабочково-единорожной кошки» появился конкурент — магнитно-шмеле-караоке-бегемот :) Серию про это странное создание смотри завтра, а послезавтра — серию про йетти. И в следующую субботу — 8 февраля эпизод про большие мифические гонки. Все эти серии новые и все они идут в 11:40 МСК.

Уверены, что ты уже успел полюбить шоу «Всякая всячина», поэтому мы будем смотреть его весь месяц — по выходным в 15:20 с повтором в 22:05 МСК. И не забудь подписаться на наших новых звёзд в Instagram, там очень много фотографий со съёмок, скетчей и блуперов :)

Ещё одна хорошая новость: в феврале мы покажем очень много новых серий «Чоп-Чоп ниндзя». Описывать тебе все сюжеты мы не станем, ведь это нужно видеть. Так что смотри по будням — с 3 по 14 февраля в 12:55, повтор в 18:30 МСК.

И наконец — «Эволюция Черепашек-ниндзя», финал первого сезона! Нам было бы даже немного грустно смотреть последние две серии в субботу 22 февраля в 17:45 МСК… Если бы не первая серия второго сезона, которую мы покажем 29 февраля в то же время! И, кстати, чтобы совсем развеять грусть, эти новые серии мы приурочили к интересному конкурсу, о котором совсем скоро тебе расскажем :)

Не просто марафоны

Главный секрет Генри Харта под угрозой! В связи с чем мы решили повторить все серии о главной тайне «Опасного Генри». Смотри марафон с 3 по 6 февраля в 15:20 МСК чтобы подобраться к самому опасному моменту: специальному эпизоду «Сюрприз от сестры» в двух частях! Именно 7 февраля нам наконец-то станет известно, узнает ли Пайпер, что её брат Генри — это…

Тс-с-с-с, секрет!

А вот у Губки Боба и Патрика секретов нет, они ведь лучшие друзья :) Именно им мы посвятим одну из февральских недель (не всё же валентинками обмениваться). Марафон «Лучшие друзья навсегда» покажем с 24 по 27 февраля в 18:55 МСК и 28 февраля закончим всё это новыми сериями «Губки Боба». Итак, новые эпизоды — «Няньки для старушки» и «Краб на картинке» — пятница, 28 февраля, 18:55 МСК.

Ещё немного марафонов

День всех влюблённых мы с тобой тоже отметим, но по-своему: 14 февраля с 15:20 МСК начнём смотреть Антивалентинов марафон с Джейсом Норманом. Сначала повторим романтичные (и не очень) эпизоды «Опасного Генри», а потом посмотрим «Руфуса» в обеих частях, « Болтуна» и «Расщепление Адама».

23 февраля, в честь праздника, покажем геройский марафон. Там, конечно же, будут героические серии «Губки Боба», будут «Черепашки-ниндзя» и «Грозная семейка», но главное — в 17:20 МСК мы покажем «ТУРБО-агента Дадли»! Так что не пропускай, пожалуйста.

На следующий день, в честь выходного понедельника, мы решили пересмотреть все новинки 2020 года. Ведь он только начался, а новых серий вышло уже ОЧЕНЬ много. 24 февраля в 12:05 МСК смотри «Мой шумный дом», «Чоп-Чоп ниндзя», «Всякую всячину», «Просто добавь магии», «Радужно-бабочково-единорожну кошку» и, конечно же, повтор той самой специальной серии «Опасного Генри».

Да, и ещё про Фелисити: смотреть самый радужный мультфильм Nickelodeon теперь можно и в будни! Ведь мы повторим весь сезон с самой первой серии — с 10 февраля в 13:45 МСК.

Fans will be able to meet and greet their favourite Nickelodeon characters at Bobbejaanland, when the amusement park, located in Lichtaart, Belgium opens for its 2020-2021 season on Saturday 4th April 2020! Bobbejaanland, which was founded by Flemish singer, guitarist, and entertainer Bobbejaan Schoepen, is owned and operated by Parques Reunidos, who has a partnership with Nickelodeon, which has seen the leisure park operator open Nickelodeon-branded attractions across Europe, including in intu Lakeside in Essex in the U.K. and at Thader Shopping Center in Murcia, Spain.

Dat park ligt ver genoeg van Movie Park.

Bobbejaanland zal van de eis van het Duitse filmpark in ieder geval geen last hebben. Beide parken hebben dezelfde eigenaar: de Spaanse parkengroep Parques Reunidos.

Smurfen
Eerder haalde Bobbejaanland De Smurfen binnen als mascottes, maar die samenwerking was geen lang leven beschoren. Er werd al na twee seizoenen mee gestopt.

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has announced the aweslime news that it has renewed the network's hit game show Nick Master Slime for a second season - and that Nick are now looking for kids to take part!


Do you know EVERYTHING there is about slime and want to be the next person to take home the coveted Nick Master Slime trophy, all whilst competing in crazy games against other slime enthusiasts? Now's your chance, as the most messiest show in Brazil is coming back!

To celebrate the return of Nick Master Slime, Nickelodeon Brasil are now inviting kids across Brazil aged between 7 and 13 years old to apply to become contestants on Nick Master Slime 2! Kids can register their interest on appearing on the series by visiting trendybynick.com.br and filling out the form the page links to! Registration closes Thursday 13th February 2020.

Aligned with the Slime Fever that has gripped kids for the past couple of years, Nickelodeon, widely regarded as the inventor of authentic slime. Launched in August 2019, Nick Master Slime is the first reality show dedicated to finding the best Slime Master in Brazil. A 100% Brazilian production, season one of the hit reality show was hosted by teen actor, singer and YouTuber João Guilherme, and featured a team of judges who are experts on the subject of slime. In season one, 10-year-old Mei Goya was crowned the winner.

Set in a Slime Lab, throughout the series, Nick Master Slime sees six contestants take on fun and challenging challenges in pursuit of the title of Master Slime, using a variety of ingredients to use and mix into the slime needed to win.

MEDIA RELEASE – SYDNEY, 19 NOVEMBER 2019 -READY SET DANCE, an innovative participatory dance program for preschoolers that launched on Nick Jr. Australia in January 2019, will expand internationally beginning January 2020 in an additional 122 countries and translated in 25 languages.

Bursting with energy and designed to develop confidence, coordination and creativity, the Australian series premiered to critical praise from preschoolers and parents alike, ranking as the no. 1 STV program (excluding live sports/movies) amongst children 0-12 in Australia.


Following its local success and international expansion, READY SET DANCE has also been greenlit for a second season in Australia. Season two will enter production locally in January 2020, and is slated to premiere in Australia in April 2020.

For the stars of the show, a troupe of young Australian actors and dancers known as the Kid Crew, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be seen on screens around the world. Animated hosts Twirl and Freeze, who offer a playful social connection throughout the series, will keep their Australian accents across English speaking markets.

READY SET DANCE features fun and energetic short-form dance videos designed specifically for preschoolers aged two - five years old. Differing from other dance shows on the market, the series is underpinned by a core educational curriculum designed to teach kids fundamental movement skills while building confidence, coordination and creativity.


In each episode kids learn a signature dance move as instructed by friendly animated hosts Twirl and Freeze, and then see the move performed by the talented Kid Crew as part of a story-driven, mini-musical. At the end of the episode kids are encouraged to practice their new move during the preschool dance party, jumping and jiving along together with fellow preschoolers on screen.


This unique Australian series was developed in collaboration with expert preschool dance educators and dance studio owners Jade Barnes, Belinda Agostino, Natalie Ettingshausen, Glenda Yee and Priscilla Severino. The five successful entrepreneurs launched their innovative class-based dance program for preschoolers, also titled READY SET DANCE, after identifying a gap in the market. Ready Set Dance busts a move worldwide

Nick Jr. Australia has ordered new episodes of its preschool-skewing series ahead of its international rollout to 122 countries.

Nick Jr. will roll out its interactive dance series Ready Set Dance internationally in 122 countries in 25 languages, starting January 2020.

After premiering earlier this year in Australia, the kidsnet also renewed the preschool series for a second season. Season two enters production locally this January and is set to debut in the region in April. The 15 x five-minute show is hosted by two animated characters who teach real kids a signature dance move every episode. Aimed at two- to five-years-olds, it ranked number one on subscription television with kids zero to 12 in Australia, according to the kidsnet.

Produced in-house by Nickelodeon in Australia, the series was developed in partnership with a group of Aussie preschool dance educators and dance studio owners Jade Barnes, Belinda Agostino, Natalie Ettingshausen, Glenda Yee and Priscilla Severino. Nickelodeon International is the distributor of the show and has licensed the series to more than 200 dance schools in Australia and New Zealand.

Dance is a perennially popular genre in the industry and Nick’s renewal and roll out comes as broadcasters, streamers and licensing agencies are putting on their dancing shoes and heading to floor with new content. Disney+ added to its nonfiction catalogue by commissioning the six-part docuseries On Pointe, which revolves around the young students of the School of American Ballet. Meanwhile, PBS KIDS greenlit two more seasons of arts-focused animated preschool series Pinkalicious & Peterrific, which will ramp up its dancing aspect of the show in its future episodes.

Charlie’s stage fun

There’s no business like show business and six-year-old Busselton dancer Charlie Deroost can attest to that.

He has just returned from filming an episode of Ready Set Dance, the hit Nickelodeon Jr. television show.

The young performer’s episode will air in season two, where nine children, from ages four to 12, danced to a sports theme.

As Charlie’s chaperone, his mother, Donna Deroost, was flown from Perth to Sydney for the whirlwind production and was allowed backstage to watch the filming and prepping.

Charlie regularly attends Ready Set Dance lessons at the Jazz Attack Gymnastics & Performing Arts Studio in Busselton every Saturday.

The lessons are a one-hour combo of jazz, tap, hip-hop, singing and music helping to foster kids’ love of performing while enhancing the three cornerstone elements of drama, confidence, co-ordination and creativity.

Charlie said his favourite dance style was hip-hop and the experience was “really fun”.

His mum was impressed by the crew’s professionalism: “It was brilliant, I felt like a stage mum and I’m so proud of him. He looked right into the camera and co-operated well with the director.”

Jazz Attack director Tara Howson said Charlie was selected from thousands of applications across Australia after the studio recorded an audition video and submitted it to Nickeledeon Jr.

“The kids love Ready Set Dance because it gets them active and the teachers are really happy and super energetic and it’s just amazing to see Charlie get selected.”

New Streaming Services Capture Recognition


SAN FRANCISCO, February 6, 2020—As parents and educators continue to seek out quality media for kids amid a dizzying flurry of choices, Common Sense Media has designated 29 new TV series and specials as Common Sense Selections, with the new streaming services of Disney+ and Apple TV+ capturing recognition.

Five shows on Disney+ and seven on Apple TV+ were given the special designation. Series and specials that debuted between October 2019 and January 2020 were eligible.

The Common Sense seal program was originally developed to recognize outstanding movies, TV series, and TV specials with an official seal. Whenever you see the new and improved Common Sense Selection seal, you can trust that the content is not only age-appropriate but has the potential to spark family conversations, entertain families of all kinds, and have a positive, lasting impact on society.


Prominent themes among the 29 new series and specials that have received the designation include empathy, perseverance, curiosity, compassion, and teamwork. Highlights include:

  • Four series on the newly launched Apple TV+: Ghostwriter, Helpsters, Little America, and Snoopy in Space. Ghostwriter is a reboot of the classic '90s series that brings book characters to life, promoting literacy and a love of books in a fresh, fun way. Helpsters introduces preschoolers to friendly monster puppets who help kids learn to solve problems with critical-thinking skills. Snoopy in Space gives kids lots of facts about NASA and space exploration from familiar Peanuts characters.
  • Series that are great for families of teens include Little America (12+) on Apple TV+, Party of Five (13+) on Freeform, Star Trek: Picard on CBS All Access (13+), and Cheer on Netflix (14+). Party of Five and Little America give families with teens lots to talk about, including the American immigrant experience, courage and compassion, and why it's important to hear and see diverse voices on TV. In the same vein, Star Trek: Picard explores similar issues in a sci-fi future where humans and aliens are still working to create a peaceful galaxy. The community college athletes of Cheer show perseverance and teamwork at its best.
  • Five Disney+ series are receiving the designation, including Encore!, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Forky Asks a Question, and Marvel's Hero Project, which received 5 stars and top marks for positive messages as well as positive role models and representations by showcasing young, real-life "superheroes" who go above and beyond to make the world a better place. Encore! and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series introduce a new generation to the exciting world of the performing arts, where teamwork and respect are valuable strengths.

Pluto TV Set to Launch in Latin America in March 2020; Brazil by the End of the Year

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI), the international arm of ViacomCBS, has announced that its free, ad-supported streaming service Pluto TV will launch in Latin America at the end of March 2020, with the service expected to reach Brazil by the end of the year!


The platform will offer programming in Spanish and Portuguese, and it will be available on pay-TV platforms, its own website and via iOS and Android apps.

“The launch of Pluto TV across Latin America marks another huge step toward achieving our mission of entertaining the planet,” said Tom Ryan, the streaming service’s CEO and co-founder. “We see massive opportunity and consumer demand for a high quality, free ad-supported streaming TV service throughout Latin America and therefore are excited to introduce viewers in the region to Pluto TV very soon.”

Pluto TV in Latin America will launch with 24 channels across a range of genres, including action, comedy, drama, horror, games, sports, music, kids and family, cooking, travel, mysteries, wildlife and reality. The service will continue to add channels after the launch, reaching more than 80 by the end of the calendar year.

The initial channel offering will include Pluto TV Cine Estelar, Pluto TV Cine Acción, Pluto TV Cine Drama, Pluto TV Cine Comedia, Pluto TV Cine Terror, Pluto TV Series, Telefe Clásico, MTV Vintage, Nick Pluto TV, Nick Jr. Pluto TV, Pluto TV Junior, Pluto TV Kids, Pluto TV Anime, Pluto TV Deportes, Pluto TV Cocina and Pluto TV Viajes.

“The launch of Pluto TV in Latin America enables our partners to offer their viewers a new value-added service, complementing their premium and linear offerings,” said Pierluigi Gazzolo, president of studios and OTT for ViacomCBS Networks International. “I am confident that Pluto TV will quickly become an essential platform for partners and consumers across Latin America as it has been in the U.S. and Europe.”

About 80% of Pluto channels are curated by editorial teams, giving the platform unique flexibility. While it faces several competitors in ad-supported streaming, its live, linear focus differs from rivals’ largely on-demand orientation.

Most recently, Pluto TV has been expanding its European footprint, particularly in the U.K. where the service launched the channels Made in Britain and Brit-pocalypse. The AVOD bowed in the U.K. in 2019 and now has more than 80 channels in the country.

Pluto TV is a flexible platform that enables a variety of options for both content partners and viewers alike. Pluto TV’s lineup presents a unique offering of curated, thematic and genre-based channels that are programmed with premium long-form content from major media partners. Some of the types of channels include branded partner channels, Pluto TV original channels (owned & operated) and Pop-Up channels that are designed with limited windows to tap into timely topics, cultural moments, and single series marathons.

For example, in advance of the launch of the MTV series, The Hills: New Beginnings, free-to-view Pluto TV offered the original hit series The Hills. Similarly, other popular channels include iconic hits such as Baywatch, and genres including news, sports, comedy, movies & TV, science & tech, pets, lifestyle and more.

Pluto TV channels, which can be viewed linearly or on demand, are all unique to the platform.

Viacom acquired the Los Angeles-based Pluto for $340 million last year.

ViacomCBS plans Latam push for streaming service Pluto TV

BUENOS AIRES (Reuters) - ViacomCBS will launch its free streaming platform Pluto TV in countries around Latin America in late March, an executive told Reuters, a move that could raise a challenge to subscription services in the region like Netflix.

Pierluigi Gazzolo, who is spear-heading the roll-out of the advertising-based platform, told Reuters the firm could have an edge in Latin America, where consumers may prefer to avoid the regular costs of subscription.

“I think Latin America is the perfect market for this product,” Gazzolo said in a telephone interview ahead of the official announcement. “You have the (users) who have pay-TV, who are consuming more and more and are going to be able to consume it, as well as those who have never been able to pay.”

Free, advertising-based services such as Pluto TV and upcoming Peacock from Comcast-owned NBCUniversal are seen as potential challengers that could limit the pricing power of paid platforms like Netflix and Amazon.com’s Prime Video, according to research from Citigroup.

Pluto TV, which Viacom acquired at the beginning of 2019 in a $340 million deal, has around 20 million monthly average users in the United States.

In the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America, Gazzolo said the platform would start with 24 channels, rising to nearly 100 by end of the year. He declined to give investment figures or user projections.

“Pluto TV is in the lower part of the pyramid, which is wider, with many more people, that is the people in Latin America that are not going to pay and are willing to see publicity to not pay,” he said.

The company is also evaluating the launch of Pluto TV in Brazil by the end of the year, Gazzolo added.

Brothers Sid & Marty Krofft have been producing quality family entertainment for more than 50 years. Sid & Marty first became a household name in the 70’s with quite a list of TV Shows. “H.R. Pufnstuf”, “The Bugaloos,” “Lidsville”, “Land Of The Lost”, “Sigmund & the Sea Monsters,” “Pryor’s Place” (starring Richard Pryor), “Far Out Space Nuts,” “Lost Saucer,” “The Krofft Supershow,” “Wonderbug and Bigfoot,” “Electra Woman & Dyna Girl,” and “Bigfoot & Wildboy.”

For primetime they created the satirical and funny “D.C. Follies” series, produced and created the “Donny & Marie Show” “The Brady Hour” and “Barbara Mandrell & the Mandrell Sisters”, all of which were audience favorites and remained in the top 10.

They opened their World of Sid & Marty Krofft amusement park in downtown Atlanta in 1976, where CNN is now headquartered. They were creative directors for Six Flags and produced live shows in parks across America before they embarked on their television career. By the time he was a teenager Sid was a show business veteran, able to strike out on his own and join the Ringling Brothers Circus sideshow. He was billed as “the world’s youngest puppeteer”. After a year he moved on and soon was touring the world, opening for the likes of Judy Garland and Liberace. But Sid wanted to be more than just an opening act. He wanted big, fantastic puppet shows.

Enter Marty. He had been working puppets off and on with Sid for years, but in the meantime had been gaining experience in the business world. They realized that for what they wanted to do, for Sid’s vision, they needed a company of their own. Their vision was to take puppets out of realm of strictly children’s entertainment and build a slightly risqué adult-oriented puppet show called “Les Poupees De Paris”, loosely based on the cabarets of Paris. It was a success! The show traveled throughout the United States — from the Seattle World’s Fair, to New York Worlds Fair playing to millions people across the country.

Hanna Barbara approached the Kroffts to help create the “Banana Splits” for Hanna Barbara and NBC. In 1969, the Kroffts were approached by NBC to create their own Saturday Morning Children’s Series. They picked HR Pufnstuf, by far the fans’ favorite character from their live shows. Its success spawned a feature film produced with Universal Pictures as a partner and distributor.

In the late 80s, the Krofft’s created and produced D.C. Follies, featuring a cast of life-size puppets ranging from ‘Richard Nixon’ to ‘Arnold Schwarzenegger’, with outrageous political and current events satire. D.C. Follies ran for two seasons, prematurely ending with a writer’s strike.

The Krofft’s produced a series of live shows entitled “Comedy Kings” for the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

In 2018, Sid & Marty received the Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Now, as Sid & Marty celebrate their "Golden Anniversary", along with H.R. Pufnstuf, they are still going strong as they have created three series and five pilots in the past three years. The three series include the 2-time Emmy nominated Nickelodeon television series Mutt & Stuff, a remake of Electra Woman & Dyna Girl, which aired on Fullscreen from Legendary, and a remake of Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, which is currently streaming on Amazon with David Arquette starring as Captain Barnabas … AND THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

Check out an exclusive sneak peek of Playing With Fire, starring John Cena (Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader), Keegan-Michael Key, and John Leguizamo, in theaters November 8th. Rated PG.

The film stars Cena as a firefighter leading an elite team called the Smoke Jumpers, who rescue a trio of siblings from a cabin fire. The members of the team have to take care of the three kids until their parents can be found, leading to all sorts of shenanigans at the remote firehouse.

John Leguizamo and Keegan-Michael Key co-star in the film as two of the firefighters, and Deadpool's Brianna Hildebrand plays Brynn, the oldest of the three siblings. Judy Greer, Christian Convery, and Finley Rose Slater also star. Andy Fickman directed Playing With Fire, with a script from Dan Ewen and Matt Lieberman.

Playing With Fire comes from Paramount Pictures, Paramount Players and Nickelodeon Movies. As expected based on Nickelodeon's involvement, it's a family comedy for viewers of all ages.

When straight-laced fire superintendent Jake Carson (John Cena) and his elite team of expert firefighters (Keegan-Michael Key, John Leguizamo and Tyler Mane) come to the rescue of three siblings (Brianna Hildebrand, Christian Convery and Finley Rose Slater) in the path of an encroaching wildfire, they quickly realize that no amount of training could prepare them for their most challenging job yet: babysitting. Unable to locate the children’s parents, the firefighters have their lives, jobs and even their fire depot turned upside down and quickly learn that kids (much like fires!) are wild and unpredictable.

Synapse Games Developing New TMNT Game for Kongregate

Kongregate, a leading US-based developer and publisher of browser, mobile, PC and console games, will be launching a brand new game based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2020! The Turtley Awesome news was announced by Swedish international entertainment group Modern Times Group (MTG), who owns the game publisher and web gaming portal, during the company's Q4 2019 earnings call.


Kongregate's new TMNT game will be Cross-platform strategy game from Synapse Games, the developers of Animation Throwdown, which combines the worlds of Fox's Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, Bob's Burgers and King of the Hill.

The TMNT game will boast 3D Lair Best-in-class graphics, as well as unique heroes and strong monetization.

It's currently unknown what medium the new TMNT game will be released on, and whether it'll use character styles from an existing part of the franchise, such as the animated series and comics, or new styles created especially for the game.

Considered one of the most popular kids' television programs of the 1980s, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a classic, global property created in 1984 by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. It first debuted as a successful comic book series and then became a hit animated TV show, a live-action television series and later spawned four blockbuster theatrical releases. The property has also translated into a significant consumer products business - with toys apparel, home goods, video games, DVDs and more--that has generated billions of dollars at retail. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a top selling action figure and the franchise is a previous recipient of the Toy Industry Association's top honor for Property of the Year at the TOTY Awards.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles follows four mutant turtles—Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo—trained in the art of ninjutsu by their mutant rat sensei, Master Splinter, who teaches the turtles to battle evil from the New York City sewers.

Nickelodeon acquired the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2009 and launched a CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series which re-energized these iconic characters of this wildly popular franchise in 2012. Nickelodeon followed up the CG-animated series, which ran for four seasons, with Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which premiered in 2018. The action-comedy series follows the band of brothers as they discover new powers and encounter a mystical world they never knew existed beneath the streets of New York City. Currently in its second season, Rise of the TMNT airs globally across Nickelodeon's channels and branded blocks in 170+ countries and territories.

Rise of the TMNT is co-executive produced by Andy Suriano (character designer, Samurai Jack) and Ant Ward (supervising producer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) at Nickelodeon in Burbank, California.

Kongregate is a leading US-based developer and publisher of browser, mobile, PC and console games in multiple genres, including strategy, action, adventure (RPG) and sports. Founded in 2006, Kongregate has published over 100,000 titles on its own web platform and has reached a milestone of 100 million mobile downloads. After successful expansion to Steam and mobile, Kongregate continues the momentum by investing in console game development in the bid to offer multi-platform game experiences.

Kongregate’s free-to-play games have strong Google Play and App Store featuring and include hits like The Trail, Animation Throwdown and BattleHand. In 2017 Kongregate launched its first Xbox One title, GRIDD: Retroenhanced, also available on Steam. The company's most downloaded apps include AdVenture Capitalist, Pocket Politics, and Star Trek Trexels.

Modern Times Group's Viaplay previously partnered with Nickelodeon in October 2014, which gave Viaplay the exclusive stand-alone video on demand (VOD) rights to a raft of Nickelodeon programming in the Nordic region until 2020.
