Nickelodeon's The Crystal Maze is an all-new version of the legendary UK hit series, premiering Friday, Jan. 24, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The Crystal Maze will feature comedian/writer Adam Conover as the Maze Master, charged with guiding one family team through physical and mental challenges set within an elaborate labyrinth of four giant and immersive themed zones: Aztec, Eastern, Futuristic and Industrial.

The premiere episode of The Crystal Maze will feature a family from Houston, Texas, tackling a range of challenges in the maze for the first time ever for U.S. audiences. This season will feature families from: Scottsdale, Ariz; Lake Forest, Calif; Eastvale, Calif ; St. Augustine, Fla; Windemere, Fla; Chester, Va; Germantown, Tenn; Carollton, Texas; and Wheaton, Ill.

In each episode, the youngest family member takes on the role of team Captain. The successful completion of escape-room style challenges are rewarded with a “time crystal” granting the family five seconds in the centerpiece final zone called the Crystal Dome. The more crystals gathered throughout the game, the more time each family has for a dramatic clock countdown challenge inside the iconic Dome for a chance to win up to $25,000.

A current ratings smash in the UK, The Crystal Maze has been a beloved family and cult favorite since the mid ‘90s, with the current global popularity of the escape room phenomena reigniting interest further. The show was recently rebooted to great success with celebrity, charity and family seasons in UK, Australia and beyond.

The Crystal Maze is co-produced by Bunim/Murray Productions (The Real World, The Challenge, Born This Way) and RDF Television (Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, Wife Swap, Shipwrecked) under parent company Banijay Group. Gil Goldschein and Maria Pepin from Bunim/Murray Productions, Neale Simpson from Fizz, part of RDF Television, and Stephen David from Stephen David Entertainment serve as executive producers. Production of The Crystal Maze for Nickelodeon is overseen by Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content.

Production on the new series (10 one-hour episodes) took place on the show's original set located at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, England, earlier this summer.

Devised by Jacques Antoine, the UK version of The Crystal Maze was originally hosted by Richard O'Brien (Rocky Horror), followed by Ed Tudor-Pole. The reboot was originally presented by Stephen Merchant (for Stand Up To Cancer), and currently by Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd, Travel Man) with his "hand." The show's theme song is the legendary "Force Field", below. The show is currently filmed at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol.

As part of Cameron's prize for winning Top Elf, he will receive a three night stay at Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana and $25,000 to donate to his chosen charity, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a charity close to his heart, as his grandpa is still going through treatment.

Top Elf is a new competition series in which, across five one-hour episodes, seven kid “Elf-testants” with extraordinary building and design skills compete in festive challenges to become Santa’s ‘Top Elf’ and have their wish lists granted—not for themselves, but for good causes in their hometowns.

In Top Elf, Santa (Tommy Snider) and Ms. Jingles (Samantha Turret) invite seven civilian “Elf-testants” to the North Pole to test their skills in a series of holiday-themed challenges, from designing their own life-sized gingerbread clubhouses, to reimagining Santa’s sleigh, to creating giant 3-D holiday cards. And of course, building new toys!

Each “Elf-testant" is paired with one of Santa’s elves who help bring their visions to life. Meet the elves: Chip Snuggles (Rudy Martinez), Nog Shimmerhorn (David Magidoff), Ginger O’Tingleton (Jenna Wright), Merry Sparkleberry (Nataliz Jimenez), Tinsel Turtledove (Ashley August), Zippy Twinkles (Davied Morales) and Stretch McDancerpants (Eric Stretch).

The seven skillful “Elf-testants” competing this season are: Aiko from New York; Allison from Walnut, Calif.; Briana from Los Angeles; Cameron from Georgetown, Ky.; Hopper from Highland Park, Texas; Hud from Oxford, Miss.; and Justice from Jamaica, N.Y.

At the end of each episode, “Elf-testants” are judged by Santa, Ms. Jingles and a celebrity guest to decide who is on the “nice” or “naughty" list and one step closer to being named Top Elf. Celebrity guest judges helping Santa and Ms. Jingles find the Top Elf are: Frankie Grande, Amirah Kassem, Peyton List, Alex Wassabi and Pete Wentz.


Top Elf’s original concept was created by Mike Duffy and Tim Duffy of Ugly Brother Studios, who executive produce the series along with Jimmy Fox of Main Event Media, an All3Media America company. Bob Schermerhorn (Project Runway All Stars, America’s Next Top Model) and Lisa Fletcher (The Titan Games) are executive producers, with Fletcher also serving as the showrunner. Nickelodeon’s Vice Presidents of Unscripted Content Paul J Medford and Mandel Ilagan also serve as executive producers. The series is directed by Michael Pearlman (Chopped, Project Runway All Stars). Production of Top Elf for Nickelodeon is overseen by Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content.

Nickelodeon Partners with Faza Meonk for SpongeBob x Si Juki Collaboration

Update (16/12) - Nickelodeon and Faza Meonk will launch Si Juki x SpongeBob Story Book : Dunia Imajinasi at an event at Kota Kasablanka Mall in South Jakarta on Friday 20th December 2019 at 5pm!

It's SpongeBob SquarePants' 20th anniversary, and to celebrate, Nickelodeon is partnering with Indonesian comic series Si Juki for a brand-new collaboration! Faza Meonk, the creator of the comic series, announcing the sponge-tastic news via his @JukiHoki Twitter page.



Meonk spoke of his excitement on working on the project, revealing that SpongeBob was his and Si Juki's idol, and that the time has come for the two iconic characters to 'play together'.

Si Juki's latest collaboration received positive responses from many Indonesian citizens on Twitter.

Si Juki follow its namesake character Juki, a deviant young adult male throughout a variety of humorous scenarios and adventures. Originally published as a webcomic in 2010, the series is now available in both print and Line Webtoon in addition to various social media platforms. An animated movie inspired by the series was released 2017. According to Faza, he based the humor of Si Juki on SpongeBob SquarePants' all-age humor. Si Juki-themed stickers has also been released for Facebook Messenger and LINE, the latter receiving over a million downloads within two days. An inspired mobile game for iOS and Android was released in 2016. The Indonesian comic series is created and authored by Faza Ibnu Ubaidillah Salman or Faza Meonk

A release date for the #JukixSpongebob collab is yet to be announced, however, Meonk teased that it's coming soon.

The news follows Nickelodeon and Johnny Lau, the creator of Mr. Kiasu announcing plans to collaborate on a coffee table book that features everyone’s favourite yellow sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Singaporean comic figure, Mr. Kiasu.

Melalui pengumuman yang dikirim lewat akun Twitter resmi Si Juki, serial komik karangan Faza Meonk itu resmi berkolaborasi dengan serial animasi SpongeBob SquarePants milik Nickelodeon.

Cuitan tersebut disertai dengan hashtag JukixSpongebob yang diunggah pada hari ini, Jumat (6/12).

Faza Meonk sebelumnya mengakui bahwa SpongeBob, selain merupakan salah satu karakter kartun favoritnya, juga merupakan inspirasi dari karakter dan dunia Si Juki. Kolaborasi ini bisa dibilang salah satu mimpinya yang bakal menjadi kenyataan.

Ia pernah membuat beberapa fanart bertemakan SpongeBob dengan art style-nya yang khas.

Belum ada info mengenai tanggal rilis dari kolaborasi yang menghebohkan warganet Indonesia ini. Cuitan terakhirnya hanya mengungkapkan caption “Are you ready kids?” dan mengunggah gambar bertuliskan Juki dan SpongeBob dengan tulisan “Coming Soon”.

Faza Meonk, melalui akun Twitter @JukiHoki, mengumumkan bahwa Si Juki akan melakukan kolaborasi dengan Spongebob Squarepants karya Stephen Hillenburg. Dalam cuitannya, ia menyebut bahwa kolaborasi antara keduanya merupakan ‘kesempatan’ bagus.

“Pernah gak lo kebayang karakter yang pas kecil sering lo liat di TV eh sekarang bisa kolaborasi ama lo?. Sama sob!”

“Dari dulu kliatan bnget kan kalo Spongebob adalah idola gue. Dan waktunya tiba. Tahun ini gue dapat kesempatan maen bareng Spongebob.”

Ia juga menyebut bahwa Spongebob Squarepants merupakan idola Si Juki, dan ia menyebut bahwa waktunya telah tiba bagi mereka untuk ‘bermain bersama’. “Are you ready kids?,” ujarnya dalam cuitannya di Twitter.

Kolaborasi terbaru Si Juki tersebut mendapat respon positif dari banyak warganet Indonesia yang mengikuti akun Intellectual Property karya Faza Meonk tersebut.

‘Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge On the Run’ Paparkan Alur Cerita!

Seperti yang sudah kita ketahui bahwa Paramount Pictures melalui akun Twitter resminya mengumumkan produksi film terbarunya yaitu “The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On the Run”.

Berdasarkan trailer yang sudah dirilis oleh Paramount Pictures, diketahui film tersebut mengisahkan tentang pertemuan pertama antara Spongebob dan Gary saat Spongebob berkemah di Camp Coral.

Tapi di suatu hari, sepulang Spongebob bekerja, tanpa diduga Gary menghilang (lagi) entah kemana. Alhasil Spongebob panik dan mencoba menanyakan keberadaan Gary pada teman-temannya. Saya menambahkan “lagi” karena sebelumnya Gary sempat menghilang di salah satu episode Spongebob Squarepants yang berjudul “Have You Seen This Snail”.

Karena tidak membuahkan hasil, Spongebob memutuskan untuk berpetualang bersama Patrick untuk mencari Gary hingga ke kota yang hilang Atlantis. Bahkan menariknya selama perjalanan, Spongebob dan Patrick bertemu dengan Sage yang diperankan oleh Keanu Reeves.

Dikutip dari ComicBook, ternyata ada yang menarik dibalik judul film tersebut. Diketahui judul sebelumnya dari film itu adalah “The Spongebob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge” yang akan menceritakan asal mula cerita Spongebob.

Dikarenakan pada trailernya, masih ada elemen cerita yang menampilkan Spongebob semasa muda dan momen pertama kali Spongebob bertemu Gary.

Pencipta karakter Si Juki Faza Meonk, melalui akun twitternya @fazameonk membagikan rasa harunya.

"Terharu, dari awal cuma nonton dan ngefans sama Spongebob, sekarang officially diajak collab," tulis Faza.

Salah satu alasan Nickelodeon mengajak kolaborasi dengan tokoh Si Juki ialah karena adanya kemiripan dengan Spongebob.

Nickelodeon membaca keterangan Si Juki di Wikipedia berbahasa Inggris.

"..tertulis disana gue banyak terinspirasi bikin Juki karena Spongebob yang bisa menyajikan Jokes berlapis, dewasa, remaja, anak bisa ketawa bareng nonton Spongebob," tulisnya.

Faza mengatakan kolaborasi antara Si Juki dan Spongebob akan diumumkan di penghujung Tahun 2019.

Faza mengatakan, kolaborasi antara Si Juki dan SpongeBob akan diumumkan pada pengujung 2019.

"Tanggal 20 kita akan launch," ujar Faza seperti dikutip dari Antara.

Ini bukan pertama kali karakter Si Juki berkolaborasi dengan tokoh lain.

Karakter itu pernah muncul bersama karakter asal Negeri Ginseng untuk mempromosikan Seoul hingga bersama BoBoiBoy dari Malaysia.

Karakter ini juga sudah diadaptasi ke layar lebar pada akhir 2017 dan akan hadir dalam film baru Si Juki the Movie: Harta Pulau Monyet tahun depan bersama pengisi suara pesohor ternama, seperti Jaja Miharja, Maya Wulan, Indro Warkop juga Mandra.

Sementara itu, SpongeBob juga akan muncul dalam film layar lebar The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run yang dijadwalkan tayang pada 2020.

JAKARTA, iNews.id – MNC Licensing menyelenggarakan acara bertajuk “Christmas Celebration with Nickelodeon Spongebob 20 Best Year Ever" untuk memeriahkan perayaan Natal 2019. Acara digelar di pusat perbelanjaan Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta Selatan.

Vice President MNC Content and Licensing Shierly Kosasih mengatakan, acara ini sengaja menghadirkan Spongebob Squarepants karena film tentang kartun itu mengisahkan persahabatan dan kekeluargaan. Selain itu Spongebob dkk dapat menjadi teman liburan akhir tahun bagi anak-anak.

Selain itu, kerja sama MNC Group dengan Nickelodeon telah berlangsung lama atau sejak 2013. Spongebob juga telah lama hadir di layar kaca GTV dan membuat anak-anak familiar dengan karakter tersebut.

"Ini merupakan bentuk kerja sama yang spesial dengan karakter Spongebob. Apalagi banyak pesan moral yang terkandung di dalamnya," kata Shierly di Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta Selatan, Jumat (19/12/2019).

Dia berharap masyarakat bisa menikmati sajian liburan yang dihadirkan MNC Licensing. Anak-anak dapat bermain sekaligus belajar.

Acara Christmas Celebration with Nickelodeon Spongebob 20 Best Year Ever akan berlangsung sejak 21 Desember 2019 hingga 5 Januari 2020. Pengunjung dapat berinteraksi dengan Spongebob Squarepants, Patrick Star dan Squidward.

Selain itu, mereka juga bisa bermain di arena Spongebob Ball Pit dengan membayar Rp100.000.

Kehadiran Spongebob disambut antusias pengunjung. Salah satunya artis Eriska Rein (25) yang mengajak putranya Mikhail Zayn Mushin menghadiri acara meet and greet Spongebob Squarepants ini.

Eriska menuturkan, banyak hal yang bisa dieksplorasi dari acara ini mulai area permainan untuk anak hingga meet and greet. Kehadiran para karakter Nickelodeon ini menghadirkan keseruan.


"Seru banget, momennya pas sama liburan anak-anak. Zayn juga sudah kenal sama karakter Spongebob, jadi dia paling antusias," kata Eriska.

JAKARTA - Eriska Rein menyambut antusias acara Meet and Greet Spongebob Squarepants bersama Patrick dan Squidward. Sebab, artis 25 ini tak perlu jauh-jauh mengajak sang putra, Mikhail Zayn Mushin berlibur.

Eriska Rein menuturkan banyak hal yang bisa di eksplore dari acara yang bertajuk Christmas Celebration with Nickelodeon Spongebob 20 Best Year Ever. Dimulai dari area permainan untuk anak hingga Meet and Greet bersama penghuni Bikini Bottom.

"Seru banget, momennya pas sama liburan anak-anak. Karena Zayn sudah kenal sama karakter Spongebob, jadi dia paling antusias," kata Eriska Rein saat ditemui di Mall Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta Selatan pada Jumat (19/12/2019).


Bagi Eriska Rein, tokoh Spongebob bukan hanya dikenal baik oleh sang putra. Namun juga dirinya yang kini menginjak usia 25 tahun.

"Datang kesini selain menemani anak, aku juga bisa nostalgia sama Spongebob," jelasnya.

Pemilihan Spongebob sebagai teman liburan anak-anak bukan tanpa sebab. Shierly Kosasih, Vice President MNC Content dan Licensing menerangkan kerja sama MNC Group dengan Nickelodeon berlangsung sejak 2013. Selain itu, penayangan di GTV membuat anak-anak familiar dengan karakter tersebut.


"Ini adalah bentuk kerja sama yang spesial dengan karakter Spongebob. Apalagi banyak pesan moral yang terkandung di dalamnya," kata Shierly.

Beberapa diantaranya seperti nilai persahabatan, kekeluargaan hingga saling tolong menolong satu sama lain.

Sebagai informasi, acara ini akan berlangsung sejak tanggal 21 Desember 2019 hingga 5 Januari 2020. Pengunjung bisa berinteraksi dengan Spongebob Squarepants, Patrick Star dan Squidward.

SpongeBob Squarepants meluncurkan kolaborasi dengan beberapa karakter lokal di Tanah Air Jumat (20/12/2019) kemarin.

Peluncuran kolaborasi ini diselenggarakan di Mal Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta Selatan dan terlaksana berkat kerja sama dengan MNC.

Shierly Kosasih, Vice President MNC Content & Licensing, mengatakan kolaborasi ini dilakukan dalam rangka perayaan ulang tahun ke-20 seri Spongebob Squarepants.

Menurut dia, inisiasi proyek kolaborasi ini sudah dimulai sejak tahun 2018 sebagai bagian dari ulang tahun ke-20 seri animasi dari Nickelodeon tersebut.

"Sepanjang tahun 2019 pihak Nickelodeon memiliki inisiatif untuk menjalin kerjasama dengan banyak brand dan seniman dari berbagai belahan dunia dalam rangka ulang tahun Spongebob Squarepants," kata Shirley di Kota Kasablanka, Jumat (20/12/2019).

Si Juki

Salah satu karakter lokal yang dipilih Spongebob Squarepants untuk kolaborasi ini adalah Si Juki.

"Tidak mudah memilih karakter lokal yang sesuai dengan karakter Spongebob. Untuk Indonesia, Si Juki terpilih untuk berkolaborasi langsung dengan karakter populer karya Stephen Hillenburg ini," urai Shierly.

Faza Meonk kreator Si Juki merasa sangat terhormat bisa mendapat kesempatan untuk mengolaborasikan karakter ciptaannya dengan Spongebob Squarepants.

Sejak pertama kali tayang di stasiun televisi swasta pada tahun 2000an, Faza menjadi penggemar seri animasi tersebut dari kecil hingga sekarang.

Baginya Spongebob adalah salah satu karakter yang menjadi inspirasi terkuat dalam pembuatan karakter Si Juki yang masih terus dikembangkan hingga sekarang.

“Saya suka Spongebob sejak kecil dan bahkan karakter tersebut menjadi salah satu inspirasi terkuat saya dalam membuat Si Juki," tutur Faza.

"Sebab, Spongebob bisa menyampaikan komedi berlapis yang bisa dimengerti oleh anak-anak maupun orang dewasa. Karena itulah saya membuat Si Juki untuk bisa dimengerti oleh semua umur,” tambahnya.

Menurut Faza, karakter Si Juki memiliki banyak kesamaan dengan Spongebob Squarepants. Tidak hanya dari segi komedi berlapis saja, dalam animasi warna suara antara kedua karakter ini tidak terlalu jauh berbeda.

"Secara karakteristik Si Juki memiliki sifat iseng yang mirip dengan Spongebob, meskipun Si Juki terlihat lebih licik, " paparnya.

Dari sisi visual, Faza mengakui bahwa selama ini ia membuat Si Juki dengan gaya gambar yang tidak jauh berbeda dengan gaya gambar Spongebob Squarepants.

Maka dari itu Faza tidak terlalu merasa kesulitan saat membuat berbagai artwork untuk kolaborasi ini.

Dalam kolaborasi ini, Faza membuat berbagai artwork Si Juki dan Spongebob sebagai teman sepermainan.

Nantinya berbagai artwork tersebut bisa dikembangkan ke dalam berbagai macam media seperti merchandise, fashion, toys, dan bentuk kolaborasi lainnya.

Kesempatan kerjasama juga terbuka luas bagi seluruh pihak yang ingin turut serta berpartisipasi dalam kolaborasi Si Juki dan Spongebob Squarepants ini.

Selain Si Juki, brand desain karakter lokal Indonesia Show The Monster juga mendapat kesempatan berkolaborasi dengan Spongebob.

Show The Monster terpilih sebagai salah satu karakter lokal Indonesia yang berhasil mengubah konstruksi Spongebob dengan menggabungkan karakter original Show The Monster dan Spongebob yang kemudian diaplikasikan dalam format busana.

Hasil karya Show The Monster x Spongebob ini bisa disaksikan dalam rangkaian pameran dan peragaan busana di Kota Kasabianka pada Sabtu, 21 Desember 2019.

"Show The Monster menggandeng Spongebob Squarepants untuk ikut serta meramaikan kampanye yang selama ini diusung untuk mengajak generasi muda Indonesia agar lebih berani mengekspresikan diri mereka melalui desain busana Show The Monster yang dipenuhi dengan warna dan karakter-karakter yang unik serta mencuri perhatian," tutur Evan Aditya Creative Director Show The Monster.

Tidak hanya itu saja, lanjut Evan, Show The Monster juga berhasil mendefinisikan Spongebob sebagai karakter internasional yang bersifat fluid dengan mengemas kolaborasi ini ke dalam bentuk print and pattern.

“Show The Monster berharap dapat memberikan generasi muda sarana untuk mengkspresikan diri mereka yang unik dengan karakter monster kami yang unik," kata Evan.

Pameran kolaborasi ini berlangsung dari tanggal 19 Desember 2019 - 5 januari 2020, dan peragaan busana dari koleksi kolaborasi Show The Monster x Spongebob Squarepants dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 Desember 2019 pukul 19.00 MB.

Pameran dan peragaan busana ini bebas biaya, dan terbuka untuk umum.

Serunya lagi, Luciana menambahkan, terdapat 20 Best Year area yang menyajikan berbagai area menarik seperti permainan mandi bola di Spongebob Ballpit yang buka mulai pukul 10 pagi hingga 10 malam dan bisa diikuti oleh anak hingga usia 17 tahun.

"Untuk mencoba pengalaman bermain di area Ballpit, pengunjung cukup membayar sebesar 100 ribu per orang dan pengunjung dapat bermain selama satu jam penuh," kata dia.

Bagi pemegang PG Card Kota Kasablanka, nikmati diskon 20 persen untuk pembelian tiket Ballpit.

Menariknya lagi, terdapat juga kolaborasi Spongebob x Si Juki yang tentunya akan

O Beach Park recebe, a partir do mês de dezembro, uma programação especial para o verão. Com atrações inéditas, o Verão Beach Park terá, até fevereiro, apresentações, shows e campeonatos esportivos em todas as áreas do destino turístico. Entre os destaques, o lançamento de uma nova atração exclusiva de realidade virtual, o Submerso, que irá simular o fundo do mar através de imersão em 4D na água.

O Submerso é a segunda atração de realidade virtual do Beach Park, que também conta, desde julho, com o Insano Virtual, simulador do toboágua mais radical do mundo. O brinquedo funciona através do uso de uma máscara especial de mergulho com realidade 360 4D, replicando o ambiente marinho e é fruto de uma parceria com o canal OFF, que cedeu vídeos exclusivos em de expedições feitas pelas equipes de reportagem dos programas para o Beach Park.

Outra atração que promete fazer a cabeça da criança é o Nickelodeon Slime Beach Park. Em parceria com a Nickelodeon, o Aqua Park terá um espaço especial para a criançada brincar e fazer experiências de slime. A Arena Slime funcionará todos os dias, de acordo com o horário de funcionamento do parque aquático, com ingressos de R$33 por 15 minutos. A Arena irá estimular a criatividade das crianças propondo experiências com a geleca dentro de um laboratório e contará com o acompanhamento de monitores. Além disso, durante o Verão Beach Park, o famoso baldão do Aqua Show irá surpreender os pequenos com um “banho de slime”. O brinquedo despejará a substância para que o público do parque tenha a sensação de tomar banho com o próprio slime.

Ainda no Aqua Park, os visitantes também poderão se divertir com apresentações e desafios com os personagens da Turma do Parque, shows de abertura do parque aquático e do Insano e aulas de dança no Maremoto.

E encerrando a programação do verão, em fevereiro, no gramado do Coqueiral, a banda Melim faz um show repleto de hits como “Meu Abrigo”, “Ouvi dizer” e “Gelo” para toda a família. Verão na Vila Azul do Mar

Novidades na Gastronomia

O restaurante à beira da praia do Beach Park conta com cardápio renovado para a estação, elaborados pelo chef Bernard Twardy e reunindo o melhor da gastronomia cearense.

Com uma proposta que busca mais conforto aos visitantes que querem curtir praia, o Bubble Lounge possui um cardápio com DNA cearense. Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) has announced the exciting news that it's latest original live-action series, Club 57, has become a hit with fans, garnering strong ratings in the region!

Since its premiere on Nickelodeon Latinoamérica and Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) in May 2019, the series has led the ratings in key demographics in Argentina, Mexico and Brazil, achieving great ratings on Pay TV throughout the region and on FTA channel Telefe in Argentina.

On Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, the series ranked #1 in Argentina, including all children's channels in the target of girls aged 4-11 and 7-14, and #2 with boys aged 4-11, while in Mexico Club 57 ranked #1 with girls aged 7-14.

In Brazil, the series ranked #2 with girls aged 7-14 and with boys aged 7-14, and in Colombia the series ranked #2 with girls 7-14.

On FTA channel Telefe in Argentina, Club 57 was the number-one show in its timeslot, achieving the #1 position during its broadcast from May to July. More than 17.8 million viewers throughout Pay TV and TVA have tuned into the series since its premiere.

Update (25/11) - Since launching on Biggs in Portugal, Club 57 has become a ratings winner in the country, with episodes reaching around 80,000 viewers, making the series appear regularly in the list of the TOP 25 of pay-TV programs in Portugal!

Club 57 is a brand-new time-travelling themed series that tells the story of a 14-year-old tech loving girl who accidentally travels back in time. Stuck in the past, she discovers her passion for music, and falls in love. The first season of Club 57 features 60 one-hour episodes.

Club 57 launched as Nickelodeon Latinoamérica celebrates 10 years of local productions, and also marks Nickelodeon's 10th locally produced show for audiences in Latin America and Brazil.

Club 57 has also been a success beyond it's linear broadcasts, with the series also becoming the #1 property on Nick Play, the channel's digital platform, with 1.8 million views.

El canal para niños aumentó sus ratings un 30% desde octubre de 2018, logrando el mayor crecimiento de la categoría infantil.

Nickelodeon anunció un nuevo crecimiento en ratings en Argentina durante el mes de julio de 2019.

El canal continúa conquistando audiencias y se ubica en el top 3 en los canales de TV paga infantiles, con una diferencia de 0,002 respecto al top 2.

Nickelodeon incrementó su rating un +30% (rat% 0.58) desde octubre de 2018 a la fecha logrando el mayor crecimiento de la categoría infantil.

El canal se posicionó en el podio de los canales infantiles en Argentina ocupando de manera sostenida el tercer lugar, subiendo 3 posiciones con respecto al año pasado.

Pierluigi Gazzolo on Viacom International Studios, the Spanish-language Market

CANNES — The L.A. Screenings represented the coming out of Viacom International Studios, which hit the market, then Conecta Fiction in Spain, with a powerful presentation of trailers.

The Conecta Fiction lineup signaled that VIS is also open to co-production and collaboration with creators in not only Latin America but far beyond; “To Catch a Thief” is written by one of Spain’s foremost TV creators, Javier Olivares;“Victoria Small,” Daniel Burman’s daily scripted comedy drama hit is produced with The Mediapro Studio; “Bad People” with “La Casa de Papel” original producers Atresmedia.

Also on the Conecta Fiction presentation was the “Red Dot,” a fantasy romantic thriller produced in Spain; “Spirit House,” originated by “Final Destination” creator Jeffrey Reddick, and produced with Convergence Entertainment; “Before I Forget,” a reversion from Turkey’s Ay Yapim.

In the run-up to Mipcom, it didn’t seem that a day went by without an announcement from VIS or Viacom Intl. Media Networks – Americas. During that period, Pierluigi Gazzolo, president of Viacom Intl. Media Networks – Americas, updated Variety on the dramatic build of VIS, and trends sweeping Latin America, and that the boom in its programming is not just a question of language.

Could you talk about what you think are the main trends of production in drama series?

Viacom has always been an IP-driven company. We’ve always been about content, and in the ’90s, in LATAM, our focus was primarily on the network business. The reality is that in addition to the networks, we own 95% of our content. We have always said we must continue expanding. The media world is changing, and owning IP is key. In Latin America specifically, we’ve long had the U.S. properties, but we also created content for our Latin American networks: Nickelodeon, MTV, and Comedy Central. We then added Telefe, which as you know is one of the largest producers of content in Argentina, and then we acquired Porta dos Fundos, which is one of the top YouTube channels in Brazil, focused on TV-quality comedy content. We took these three and said: Let’s put them together, and that is how we created Viacom International Studios. Since then, from the beginning of 2018, we’ve grown significantly in revenues, and we’ve produced about 900 hours of content. We are expecting to continue growing our revenues at very high levels of nearly 60% this year.

60% in 2019?

Correct. We expect to grow nearly 60% in studio revenues compared to last year. Within Latin America the Studio has become a powerhouse production house, creating content for our channels and third parties. We create content for SVODs like Amazon and Netflix, and broadcasters like Mega and TV Azteca. In some cases, we even create content for our competition. It really has become a full-fledged studio.

Can you give a few examples?

For the first time,Telefe is exporting is content outside not only Argentina, but outside of Latin America, going to the U.S. For example, we recently announced that we closed a deal with Paramount TV to produce “100 Days To Fall In Love,” which was a hit format created and developed by Viacom International Studios for Telefe and Underground Producciones in Argentina for Showtime. It was a big hit in Argentina, with a 60% audience market share. We are also having conversations with countries in Europe to sell them the format to produce their own versions of our hit novelas.

Another example of Viacom International Studios creating great content for export is in Brazil with our hit YouTube comedy channel, Porta dos Fundos. A few weeks ago, we signed an agreement with YouTube Originals to produce a new reality series, “The New Future Ex Porta Actor,” which will document the search for a new comedian to join the Porta Dos Fundos’ cast exclusively for YouTube. This summer, we launched the Spanish-language version of the comedy platform, called “Backdoor,” which has already reached over 2 million subscribers and we just announced last week an agreement with Amazon Prime Video to acquire the first season of “Backdoor – Humor por donde no lo esperas” (Backdoor- Comedy Where You Don’t Expect It) (20 eps. x 30 seconds). The series will feature brand new comedy sketches by Backdoor and premiered on Comedy Central Latin America on Sept. 9, with the full series coming to Prime Video in Latin America later this year.

Quite a lot of the shows you were showing at Conecta Fiction are co-productions, is that correct?

Yes. Sometimes we develop on our own from the start, but we also like to work with third parties that we respect. We recently partnered with Mediapro Studio to produce “Victoria Small.” In its first week of air in Argentina, it reached 50% market share viewing. It’s our next big hit. It has the promise to be the next format to travel around the world, similar to “100 Days to Fall in Love.” So yes, we work with co-production partners, and sometimes we also do pre-buys with partners; however, we always seek to own the majority of the production and retain distribution rights.

How would you judge the demand for scripted content or Spanish language scripted content now?

There is so much content being produced right now, that I said to myself: “Where is it going to go?” But the reality is that the psychology of consumption has changed, and people need more and more content to watch. They want more choices and distributors and platforms want to offer more choices. The average consumer has more headspace to watch much more, so I think it will continue. I think their desire for content was underestimated in the past. There will always be more demand in our view of consumption. That’s the exciting part.

And demand for a specific type of content?

In our particular case, we’re finding that dramas with comedic events, “dramadies”, that have some sense of lightness– lead the way. Great examples are “100 Days To Fall in Love” and now “Victoria Small,” co-produced with Mediapro Studio. Also, tween telenovelas, such as VIS’s Nickelodeon “Club 57,” are becoming popular all over the world

What about the export potential?

There are amazing writers and developers in the Spanish-speaking world, incredible production quality both in Latin America and Spain, and the stories that are being told are universal. “100 Days to Fall in Love” is a perfect example. We develop the story, so it is ready to be exported. Even shows that have stayed in Spanish for distribution like Atresmedia/Netflix’’s “La Casa de Papel” go worldwide. It’s a very exciting time, and I think Latin America and Spain will continue to be big players.

Is that because we are a very big language market?

Yes, but it’s important to note that it is not just the language. Even within Latin countries there are complexities of culture. Argentine versions are not the same as in Chile, even though they are right next to one another. Same for Chilean and Mexico. So, there’s nothing that can replace the passion and knowledge in a script. We have become very good storytellers, and I think the world recognizes that. So when I say Latin America and Spain will continue to be big players, I’m referring to how we tell stories and how our formats can travel around the world regardless of language.

Nickelodeon se corona como el segundo canal infantil más visto en Argentina

Es el canal con mayor aumento en sus niveles de audiencia, en un año en el que la mayoría de los canales de niños sufrieron una caída en las mediciones.

Además, en lo que va de 2019, más de 8.2 millones personas sintonizaron Nickelodeon, el cual logró superar la hora promedio de visionado (66 minutos), lo que representa un 14% de crecimiento con respecto a 2018.

Nickelodeon, una marca propiedad de ViacomCBS sigue avanzando posiciones en los ratings de la categoría infantil. En la semana del 18 y el 24 de noviembre de 2019, logró ser el canal más visto en TV paga (no solo de canales infantiles).

The Sundance Institute has announced that the 2020 Sundance Film Festival will host the world premiere of Happy Happy Joy Joy - The Ren & Stimpy Story, a brand new documentary exploring the rise and fall of the groundbreaking animated series The Ren & Stimpy Show and its controversial creator, John Kricfalusi - whose abusive relationship with an underage woman destroyed his once-celebrated career - through archival footage, show artwork and interviews with the artists, actors and executives behind the show.


“It’s wild and disturbing,” said Sundance director John Cooper. “It’s not trying to make the show separate from the creator. That’s what we hoped to see in it.”


From production industry veterans Ron Cicero and Kimo Easterwood, Happy Happy Joy Joy - The Ren & Stimpy Story is a crowdfunded documentary that has been in development for a couple of years, before Ralph Bakshi acolyte Kricfalusi's highly inappropriate behavior came to light. When the docu was first pitched, it was set to "delve deep into the world of Ren the rage-fueled chihuahua and Stimpy the simpleton cat. The filmmakers’ goal is to show that the creativity that fueled the animated series is akin to the intrepid genius and controversial merit of Banksy and Warhol."

Happy Happy Joy Joy - The Ren & Stimpy Story is produced by Ron Cicero, and features the cast of: John Kricfalusi, Robyn Byrd, Vanessa Coffey, Chris Reccardi, Richard Pursel, and Bobby Lee.

Ren & Stimpy premiered on August 11, 1991 as one of the original Nicktoons, alongside Rugrats and Doug, and followed the chaotic adventures of a psychotic Chihuahua (Marland “Ren” T. Höek) and dimwitted Cat (Stimpson “Stimpy” J. Cat). The series ran on Nickelodeon for 5 seasons and spawned the spin-off Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon in 2003.

In the early 1990s, the animated show Ren & Stimpy broke cable ratings records and was a touchstone for a generation of fans and artists. Creator John Kricfalusi was celebrated as a visionary, but even though his personality suffused the show, dozens of artists and network executives were just as responsible for the show’s meteoric rise. As Kricfalusi’s worst impulses were let loose at the workplace and new allegations about even more disturbing behavior have surfaced, his reputation now threatens to taint the show forever.

With clips recognizable to any Ren & Stimpy fan and interviews with Kricfalusi and his fellow creators whose work has been both elevated and denigrated by their connection to him, this film is a complex look at a show that influenced the history of television, animation, and comedy. More than a celebration, Happy Happy Joy Joy - The Ren & Stimpy Story forces us to consider the role of media creators and how we reckon with the reality of who they are versus what we see on the screen.

Throughout his 15-year producing career, Ron Cicero has produced a long list of commercials, branded shorts, and experiential installations. He has partnered with industry-leading creatives including Judd Apatow, Aaron Ruell, and Jesse Moss, as well as experience company Magnopus, led by Academy Award–winners Ben Grossmann and Alex Henning. This is Cicero's first feature documentary as a producer and director.

Kimo Easterwood started his career as a tour photographer counting Chris Rock, Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, Usher, and ZZ Top among his clients. Nickelodeon's is currently in the midst of the network's "Best Year Ever", a year-long global celebration of SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. The “Best Year Ever” launched with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special earlier this summer, and leads up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, coming May 2020.

Something Glitchy This Way Comes.. Nickelodeon's brand-new animated adventure-comedy series follows two newly recruited kids as they battle video game monsters that come to life in the real world.

This brand new animated series features High Five and Miko, two gamers who are recruited into the world of Glitch Techs: kids who battle the video game glitches that enter our world through faulty game consoles!

In the world of Glitch Techs, Hinobi is a huge gaming and tech company that makes massively popular video games consoles. What Hinobi customers do NOT know is that their games sometimes glitch and release dangerous video game creatures into the real world! That’s when the company send the Glitch Techs: a trained support team equipped with an arsenal of fantastic gaming gear designed to capture video game pests and out them back where they belong!

Once a glitch is returned, the Techs must remove any evidence it was there – including the memories of any witnesses! Not only do Glitch Techs fight for the safety of the city, they also work at Hinobi stores, helping customers with tech support and service needs.

Enter Miko and high Five – new recruits who fight glitches and reformat witnesses all before the store closes at 5pm. Talk about a crazy job! Respect the Tech!

Glitch Techs comes from Eric Robles (Fanboy & Chum Chum, The X's, Ni Hao, Kai-Lan) and Dan Milano (Greg the Bunny, Warren the Ape), both hailing from Nickelodeon's Artist Collective, an internal artist-led development program, and is produced at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, Calif. Nickelodeon has picked-up Glitch Techs for an initial 20-episode first season. A second season was commissioned, however, Nickelodeon halted production half-way through.

Glitch Techs will boast a multi-ethnic cast, including a Muslim-American female character who will wear a hijab. At a industry panel, the co-creators explained that when they were developing Glitch Techs, they “recognized the need to incorporate characters reflective of the viewing audience, whether they are background characters or main characters,” and revealed that they had worked with MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Council) to “figure out how to accurately display an authenticity, even down to little behaviors.” Dan Milano further elaborated, “Even though we’re an animated show and they are trying to catch creatures, we want small things. We want to know that a stray hair came out of that hijab, and she had to tuck it behind her ear because that’s a human moment, that’s a practical moment, from everyday life.”

It was recently announced that Emmy-award winning actor Bryton James (Winx Club, The Young and the Restless) will be voicing a character in Nickelodeon Glitch Techs.

Wonder Park Animated TV Series

Nickelodeon is slated to premiere Adventures in Wonder Park, an animated series inspired by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies hit 2019 theatrical feature Wonder Park, in 2020! The series in feature the voices of: Kitana Turnbull as June, Greg Cipes as Peanut, Ken Hudson Campbell as Boomer, Jill Talley as Mom, Cam Clarke as Dad, Rachael MacFarlane as Greta, Kevin Michael Richardson as Gus, Aryan Simhadri as Banky, Stephen Tobolowsky as Uncle Tony, Daran Norris as Principal Peters, Kate McGregor-Stewart as Aunt Albertine, and Raymond McLeod.

Counting Stars
Expected: 2020


Counting Stars is a brand-new series following a group of mega-talented freshmen at the most elite music performance boarding school in the country who compete to perform at the year end talent showcase. Rehearsals for the show will begin in December 2019 followed by filming in January 2020.

Although currently unconfirmed, it is thought that Counting Stars is the Simon Fuller/Ryan Tedder-Produced Untitled Project announced during Nickelodeon Upfront 2019. The project announcing during Nick's Upfront revealed that it would be a scripted music series set in a boarding performing arts high school, with original music in every episode. A nationwide search will be conducted to cast the show. Simon Fuller is a legendary, multi-hyphenate creator, producer and manager behind iconic franchises such as the global Idol phenomenon and Spice Girls. Grammy Award-winning Ryan Tedder is the frontman of OneRepublic and writer behind countless hit songs from artists ranging from Beyoncé and Adele, to Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran and Kelly Clarkson, among others.

Characters in the show will include: Taylor Hutchinson (Lead; female, 13-15); Eva Ruiz (Lead, female, 13-15); Madison Montgomery (Female, 13-15); Jacob Evans (Lead; male, 12-15); Chase Jones (Lead; male, 13-15); and Austin Peterson (Lead; male, 13-15).

The Crystal Maze
Premieres:Friday, Jan. 24, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT).


Nickelodeon is bringing the legendary UK hit game show The Crystal Maze to the U.S. in an all-new version, co-produced by Bunim/Murray Productions (The Real World, The Challenge, Born This Way) and RDF Television (Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, Wife Swap, Shipwrecked), all under the Banijay Group. A longtime staple of British pop culture and family entertainment, The Crystal Maze--considered the forerunner to the current escape room craze--is a competitive challenge featuring a family team who must utilize physical and mental skills to successfully navigate an elaborate labyrinth of four giant and immersive themed zones. Guiding teams through each challenge and adventure around the Crystal Maze will be Maze Master Adam Conover, a comic famed for his work on College Humour, TV series Adam Ruins Everything, and Netflix's BoJack Horseman.

Production on the new series (10 one-hour episodes) took place on the show's original set located at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, England, earlier this summer. The series premiere will be announced at a later date.

Nickelodeon’s version of The Crystal Maze will feature a team of family members tackling a range of challenges in zones collectively known as The Crystal Maze. Each successful game is rewarded with a ‘time crystal’ that equals five seconds in the centerpiece Crystal Dome. The adventure culminates in a spectacular finale, as the team enters the Dome to grab a cash prize as it flies around them during a dramatic clock countdown.

A current ratings smash in the UK, The Crystal Maze has been a beloved family and cult favorite since the mid ‘90s, with the current global popularity of the escape room phenomena reigniting interest further. The show was recently rebooted to great success with celebrity, charity and family seasons in UK, Australia and beyond.

Devised by Jacques Antoine, the UK version of The Crystal Maze was originally hosted by Richard O'Brien (Rocky Horror), followed by Ed Tudor-Pole. The reboot was originally presented by Stephen Merchant (for Stand Up To Cancer), and currently by Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd, Travel Man) with his "hand." The show's theme song is the legendary "Force Field", below. The show is currently filmed at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol.

Life is more exciting, fun, and unpredictable with a pony, as seen in Nickelodeon’s new original 2D-animated buddy comedy series It’s Pony, premiering Saturday, Jan. 18. The 20-episode series follows the comedic adventures of Annie and her best friend, who just so happens to be an enthusiastic, unpredictable, and carefree pony. Following its premiere, It’s Pony will continue to air Saturdays on Nickelodeon and will air internationally in April 2020.

The series stars Jessica DiCicco (Adventure Time) as Annie, an optimistic and determined farm girl living in the city with her family and best friend Pony; Josh Zuckerman (Strange Angel) as Pony, who is naïve and impulsive, but loves Annie more than anything; Abe Benrubi (E.R.) as Dad, who treats Pony as a nuisance, but recognizes the special bond he shares with Annie; and India de Beaufort (All Hail King Julien) as Mom, who loves Annie and Pony’s relationship and always has a new project in the works.

Created by Ant Blades, It’s Pony (formally titled Pony) is inspired by a short from Nickelodeon’s 2015 International Animated Shorts Program. A pre-released episode will be available starting Wednesday, Dec. 25 on the Nick App, Nick On Demand, and YouTube.

It's Pony is produced in London, UK by Blue Zoo, which has produced on-air presentation for Nick Jr. UK & Ireland, as well as series such as Nick Jr.'s Digby Dragon and Olive the Ostrich, and shows such as Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small and Q Pootle 5.

Kamp Koral

Kamp Koral is a original CG-animated spin-off series of Nickelodeon's iconic hit, SpongeBob SquarePants that introduces viewers to a 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants during his summer at sleepaway camp. The series was greenlit earlier this year and commenced production in June 2019 at Nickelodeon Studios in Burbank, California.

In the series, SpongeBob and his pals spend the summer building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral.

Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller (SpongeBob SquarePants) are co-executive producers on the series.

Untitled Squidward Tentacles Spin-Off

Nickelodeon are said to be planning a brand-new music-based SpongeBob SquarePants spin-off centered on Squidward Tentacles, the malcontent anthropomorphic octopus as part of the network's freshly announced multi-year output deal with Netflix!

Squidward Tentacles is SpongeBob’s not-so-happy neighbor who would do anything to get away from him. Unfortunately for Squidward, he and SpongeBob are also coworkers at the Krusty Krab. This clarinet-playing job-hating cashier just wants some peace and quiet. Squidward is often a very cynical, selfish individual and displays an unjustified air of superiority. He lives a a Easter Island, located between SpongeBob's pineapple home and Patrick's rock, and is voiced by Rodger Bumpas.

Rugrats Revival
Expected: 2021


Nickelodeon will relaunch the iconic kids’ TV series Rugrats with a 26-episode new season, which will include new adventures with beloved characters Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie and Angelica, and will also introduce a new world of characters!

Original creators Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain will return to the TV series as executive producers. Nickelodeon’s Rugrats will be produced in Burbank, Calif., with production already underway. Additional news of the TV series, airdate and casting--and Reptar sightings--will be announced in the coming months. Veteran cast members are expected to return to reprise their roles.

Rugrats focuses on a group of toddlers, Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, twins Phil and Lil DeVille, and Angelica Pickles, and their day-to-day lives that became adventures in their imaginations. The original Rugrats series launched in August of 1991 and instantly became a groundbreaking phenomenon, spawning consumer products, three hit theatrical releases and cementing its place in pop culture history through its iconic characters, storytelling and unique visual style. Rugrats was in production for nine seasons over the course of 13 years. The series earned four Daytime Emmy Awards, six Kids' Choice Awards and its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

A live-action Rugrats movie featuring CGI characters from Paramount Players was in the works, but it's release is currently on hiatus.

Untitled Animated Star Trek Series

Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios have announced the greenlight of a new animated Star Trek series to be developed by Emmy Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters and Ninjago) and overseen for Nickelodeon by Ramsey Naito, EVP, Animation Production and Development, Nickelodeon.

Debuting exclusively on Nickelodeon, the series expands the Star Trek universe for a new generation of fans. The new original CG-animated series follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation.

The series will be from CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Television Studios’ new animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth will serve as executive producers alongside Kevin and Dan Hageman. Aaron Baiers will serve as a co-executive producer.

The new Star Trek series is the third animated series from CBS Television Studios, following Star Trek: Lower Decks for CBS All Access and Our Cartoon President for SHOWTIME.

Claudia Spinelli, VP Animation Development, Nickelodeon, is the executive in charge of the new animated Star Trek series for Nickelodeon. The series will also be overseen by Alec Botnick, SVP, Comedy Development and Head of Animation, CBS Television Studios.

Meet the Voxels

Nickelodeon originally announced the development of Meet the Voxels (working title), an original TV, virtual reality and augmented reality series conceived by Chris Young, Senior Vice President of Nickelodeon’s Entertainment Lab, in August 2018. The animated sitcom, created in a game engine, marks a first for Nickelodeon in its use of cutting-edge virtual cinema technology, including real-time full body and facial performance capture, bringing an innovative approach to immersive storytelling. Nickelodeon’s Entertainment Lab is the network’s division established to spearhead long-range research and development around emerging platforms and new technology. Meet the Voxels is being developed to air across Nickelodeon’s channels globally.

The series will feature an African-American and Latinx family where everyone is from a different video game.

Meet the Voxels takes kids behind the scenes of a video game world and follows a family of video-game characters, the Voxels, on their adventures on-and-off-duty. When the project was first announced, the family members were named: Hunter, the 13-year-old star of a laser-tag video game; Maude, a 16-year-old girl fighting to pop as many bubbles as she can; their younger brother Cody who has not found his video game calling yet; Mom, a popular street fighter in her game; and Dad, a 90’s-era classic console game character who quit the business years ago. It's currently unknown whether any of these details have changed since the property was originally announced.

The pilot for Meet the Voxels has been written by Jana Petrosini (Henry Danger, Kid Danger, Game Shakers) and Sean Gill (Henry Danger, Kid Danger, Game Shakers).

Meet the Voxels represents a significant expansion of both the Entertainment Lab’s capabilities and Young’s work. To date, the Lab has been responsible for the creation and implementation of SlimeZone and The Loud House 360, and now Meet the Voxels represents an evolution of content development and creation using real-time animation technology.

Actor, writer, comedian and host Kelly Vrooman will have a role on the series.

Nickelodeon and Imagine Kids+Family are partnering to develop the original live-action series, Untitled Space Show (working title). Untitled Space Show will be showrun and written by Daniel Knauf (Carnivàle, The Blacklist) and centers around a group of kids who mistakenly launch into space. The series marks the first project co-produced by Nickelodeon and Imagine Kids+Family. Untitled Space Show will be executive produced by Imagine Entertainment Chairmen Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, Imagine Kids+Family President Stephanie Sperber, and Knauf. The production will be overseen by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Scripted Content for Nickelodeon and by creative executive Will Davis for Imagine Kids+Family.

In Untitled Space Show, an almost-finished spaceship is about to launch into space with the world’s leading scientists to investigate a mysterious asteroid passing by earth. After a dare gone wrong, a group of kids accidentally launch the ship, putting them in the path of an asteroid. Without any proper training, they embark on a journey of survival using their smarts and friendship as their tools, as their parents watch from back on earth and attempt to guide them to safety.

Untitled Young Dylan Show (Live-Action)

Nickelodeon, the number-one kids’ network, and Tyler Perry Studios have entered into a content partnership to jointly develop and produce a new kids and family live-action series with 10-year-old rapper Young Dylan (Dylan Gilmer, @officialyoungdylan). The news was revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Written by Perry, the project tells the story of a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced.

Nickelodeon’s partnership with Tyler Perry Studios is part of Perry’s long-term pact with Viacom, producing original series for BET Networks and other Viacom networks, with exclusive licensing rights on this programming. Additionally, Tyler Perry Studios recently announced its joint venture with BET Networks for the new streaming video on demand service BET+.

Born and raised in Annapolis, MD, Young Dylan is best known for his many appearances and performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at NBA All-Star Weekend. He also made a guest appearance on the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit series, All That. Young Dylan has an overall talent deal with Telepictures, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Television.

Dylan Gilmer is represented by Sherry Kayne of The Green Room and Chris Abramson at Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson. City of Annapolis recently presented Gilmer with the key to the city in recognition of his big break.

Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender Netflix Series

Netflix has announced that it is set to produce a live-action series based on Nickelodeon’s mid-2000s hit animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, and is bringing aboard original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko as executive producers and showrunners! The new series will be made in partnership with Nickelodeon, with production to start during early 2020 in Canada. The new series will air exclusively on Netflix.

The series will feature a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast.

Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes1 & 2, The Lego Batman Movie, ITChapters 1 & 2, the Netflix adaption of Death Note) has boarded the project as a producer under his Lin Pictures banner.

In Avatar - The Last Airbender, the world is divided into four nations; the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation and the Air Nomads. Each of these are represented by a natural element for which the nation is named. The Benders have the ability to control and manipulate the element in their nation. Only the Avatar is the master of all four elements. The ruthless Fire Nation wants to conquer the world but the only bender who has enough power, the Avatar, has disappeared until now. His tribe soon discovers that Aang is the long lost Avatar. Now Katara and Sokka must safeguard Aang on his journey to master all four elements and save the world from the Fire Nation.

Konietzko and DiMartino also created a follow-up series, The Legend of Korra, that returned to the world of Avatar years after Aang’s death to follow Korra, his successor as Avatar. That series ran between 2012-2014.

The stories of both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have continued on in graphic novel series.

Garfield

Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ: VIA, VIA.B), through one of its subsidiaries, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Paws, Inc., the entity holding global intellectual property rights to the Garfield and the U.S. Acres (a.k.a. Orson’s Farm) franchises--including corresponding rights related to content, consumer products, and location-based experiences. The deal will see Nickelodeon develop a new Garfield animated television series, as well as new Garfield content for all platforms for a new generation of fans.

The acquisition of Garfield is part of Nickelodeon’s strategy to be the home for the biggest franchises kids and families love, and it expands Nickelodeon’s growing portfolio of influential properties that already includes SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the forthcoming Blue’s Clues & You!, the first-ever SpongeBob spinoff, Kamp Koral, and all-new animated Star Trek and Paddington series.

Nickelodeon also recently revived its iconic '90s sketch series All That, as well as partnered with LEGO and YouTube influencer “Ryan,” the central figure in the online series “Ryan ToysReview”, to launch two new series, LEGO City Adventures and Ryan's Mystery Playdate.

Global merchandising rights to Garfield will be managed by Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP), including the property’s existing portfolio of licensees. Garfield creator Jim Davis will continue to produce the Garfield syndicated comic strip as he has done since creating the lazy feline since 1976. The cartoon has chronicled the life of the eponymous cat, his owner Jon Arbuckle and Odie the dog, as well as various friends. Known for his love of lasagne and coffee and his disdain for Mondays, Garfield has spawned a slew of movies and TV shows - Garfield and Friends in the 1980s and '90s on CBS and the CG-animated The Garfield Show on Cartoon Network from 2009 to 2012 — and a pair of feature films, Garfield: The Movie (2004), a live-action/animated hybrid in which the corpulent cat was wryly voiced by Bill Murray (Ghostbusters), opposite Breckin Meyer’s Jon, and Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006) and three straight-to-video sequels. The property has received four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program for the animated specials Garfield on the Town, Garfield in the Rough, Garfield’s Halloween Special and Garfield’s Babes and Bullets. Garfield and Friends previously aired on Nickelodeon USA between 1997–2000.

Created by cartoonist Jim Davis, Garfield is the most widely syndicated comic strip in the world (Guinness World Records), and the franchise spawned movies, TV shows, stage shows and merchandise. Quibi has announced the reviving and reimagining of Legends of the Hidden Temple, the cherished 90's competition show that included teams competing against one another to retrieve “historical artifacts” in a Mayan-themed temple by performing physical challenges and asking trivia questions, produced by Nickelodeon and Stone & Company. Originally airing from 1993-1999 on Nickelodeon, Legends of the Hidden Temple holds a special place in millennial hearts -- inspiring a movie, mobile games and one of the most popular Halloween costumes every year. During its heyday, Entertainment Weekly described the show as “Gladiators meets Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.”

This new, supersized, reimagined version will preserve many of the favorite original elements of the show - the contestant-soaking Moat Crossing; Olmec, a disembodied talking stone head; and the game-culminating Temple Run, a maze full of treacherous obstacles where young adolescents would flex their physical and mental prowess - but will see them "grown up" for an audience that's grown up along with them. Instead of being filmed at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida, the entire set will be taken out of the studio, into a jungle and scaled up with tougher challenges and bigger prizes on the line.

The original Legends of the Hidden Temple game show was originally hosted by Kirk Fogg, with Dee Bradley Baker (SpongeBob SquarePants, American Dad) providing the voice of the all-knowing Olmec. The pair returned and reprised their respective roles for a TV movie inspired by the series (with Michael Benyaer as Olmec’s human form) in 2016. It also featured elements from the show, like the Steps of Knowledge, and featured cameos from animals who lend their names to the competition teams. No word on Fogg or Baker's involvement in the new series.

Preschoolers will journey across the pond to London for heartwarming adventures with beloved British bear Paddington in Nickelodeon’s brand-new CG-animated series The Adventures of Paddington. Premiering in the U.S. on Monday, Jan. 20, at 12:30 p.m. (ET/PT), The Adventures of Paddington (26 episodes) centers on a younger Paddington as he writes letters to Aunt Lucy celebrating the new things he has discovered through the day’s exciting activities. Following its U.S. launch, The Adventures of Paddington will roll out on the net’s international channels and branded blocks beginning March 2020.

In advance of the series debut, Nickelodeon will air a holiday presentation of “Paddington Finds a Pigeon/Paddington and the Chores List,” on Friday, Dec. 20, at 12:30 p.m. (ET/PT). In the episode, Paddington nurses an injured bird back to health and discovers a new friend in Pigeonton. Then, Mr. Brown creates a list of chores for Paddington, who accidentally picks up the wrong list.

The Adventures of Paddington is a Heyday Films and STUDIOCANAL production in association with Copyrights. Actor Ben Whishaw (Paddington 1 & 2) reprises his role as the voice of the title character, alongside new cast members Morwenna Banks, Bobby Beynon, Sheena Bhattessa, Darren Boyd, Noel Clarke, Phyllis Logan, Monica Lopera, Sabrina Newton-Fisher, David Schofield, Reece Shearsmith, Liz Sutherland-Lim and Jeremiah Waysome. In the Jan. 20 series premiere, “Paddington Finds a Hobby/Paddington and the Stamp,” Paddington doesn’t have a hobby, so Mrs. Brown helps him find out what he’s good at. Then, Paddington gets his arm stuck in a mailbox while sending a letter to Aunt Lucy.

Over land and on the high seas, the pups set out to find the treasure for Mayor Goodway so the celebration can go on. Things get ruff when Mayor Humdinger wants to find the treasure first for Foggy Bottom. The pups need all paws on deck for this pirate adventure, including help from the newest pup who's all ears…Tracker! Using their heroic rescue skills, problem solving and teamwork, the pups set sail to save the day. No job is too big, no pirate pup is too small!

Slime City


Nickelodeon is giving kids and families the chance to see, feel and get doused in its iconic green goo at Slime City, the brand’s first-ever pop-up experience dedicated to all things slime.

Following its successful opening at The ATL in Atlanta, Georgia during summer 2019, Nickelodeon's touring Slime City pop-up experience will be heading to Miami, Florida this December!

Opening at the Aventura Mall on Friday, December 6, 2019 and running through Monday, January 20, 2020, fans will have the opportunity to create their own gooey slime concoction and receive Nickelodeon’s ultimate honor– getting slimed! The installation will take visitors on an experiential slime-filled adventure throughout a unique 20,000 square-foot space that features an array of insta-worthy, slime-tastic moments for kids of all ages.

Tickets will be available on www.NickSlimeCity.com, where visitors can also sign up for Slime City updates. Reduced pricing available for dates December 6-22 if visitors book before December 5. VIP Sliming Add-On tickets, giving visitors the chance to get slimed SOLO in the green stuff and take home an ‘I Got Slimed’ t-shirt, are also available.

The Nickelodeon Slime City experience will feature eight unique, themed spaces designed to let visitors interact with slime in various ways.

Chicagoans will soon be able to visit the home of the Good Burger, drink an orange soda and live out their ’90s Nick Kid dreams at a new Chicago pop-up restaurant!

After a successful run in Los Angeles, the Good Burger pop-up inspired by Kel Mitchell's fast-food sketche on Nickelodeon's All That (and the beloved 1997 movie adaptation of the sketch) will make its way east to the city in 2020. Organizers haven't announced an exact location or an opening date yet, but that's not going to stop fans from getting stoked about finally trying Ed's secret-recipe special sauce for themselves!

Hosted by digital creator and actress Liza Koshy, Nickelodeon's Double Dare revival saw a new generation of fans compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives. With Double Dare remaining an iconic touchstone for its original millennial audiences, the new version featured the gameplay and challenges they remembered, as well as appearances from blasts from the past, including Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg, Jamie Lynn Spears, Josh Server from All That and stars from today, such as Rico Rodriguez, Chloe Kim and Lindsey Vonn. Original series host Marc Summers also returned to give color commentary on the challenges, lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode. The revived Double Dare premiered on Nickelodeon on Monday, June 25, 2018 and concluded its run after 61 episodes over two seasons with a Holiday special on Friday, December 20, 2019. The series also inspired a live tour, hosted by Summers.

Top Elf is a new competition series in which, across five one-hour episodes, seven kid “Elf-testants” with extraordinary building and design skills compete in festive challenges to become Santa’s ‘Top Elf’ and have their wish lists granted—not for themselves, but for good causes in their hometowns.

In Top Elf, Santa (Tommy Snider) and Ms. Jingles (Samantha Turret) invite seven civilian “Elf-testants” to the North Pole to test their skills in a series of holiday-themed challenges, from designing their own life-sized gingerbread clubhouses, to reimagining Santa’s sleigh, to creating giant 3-D holiday cards. And of course, building new toys!

Each “Elf-testant" is paired with one of Santa’s elves who help bring their visions to life. Meet the elves: Chip Snuggles (Rudy Martinez), Nog Shimmerhorn (David Magidoff), Ginger O’Tingleton (Jenna Wright), Merry Sparkleberry (Nataliz Jimenez), Tinsel Turtledove (Ashley August), Zippy Twinkles (Davied Morales) and Stretch McDancerpants (Eric Stretch).

The seven skillful “Elf-testants” competing this season are: Aiko from New York; Allison from Walnut, Calif.; Briana from Los Angeles; Cameron from Georgetown, Ky.; Hopper from Highland Park, Texas; Hud from Oxford, Miss.; and Justice from Jamaica, N.Y.

At the end of each episode, “Elf-testants” are judged by Santa, Ms. Jingles and a celebrity guest to decide who is on the “nice” or “naughty" list and one step closer to being named Top Elf. Celebrity guest judges helping Santa and Ms. Jingles find the Top Elf are: Frankie Grande, Amirah Kassem, Peyton List, Alex Wassabi and Pete Wentz.

The winning “Elf-testants” was Cameron Fulton from Georgetown, Ky.


Top Elf’s original concept was created by Mike Duffy and Tim Duffy of Ugly Brother Studios, who executive produce the series along with Jimmy Fox of Main Event Media, an All3Media America company. Bob Schermerhorn (Project Runway All Stars, America’s Next Top Model) and Lisa Fletcher (The Titan Games) are executive producers, with Fletcher also serving as the showrunner. Nickelodeon’s Vice Presidents of Unscripted Content Paul J Medford and Mandel Ilagan also serve as executive producers. The series is directed by Michael Pearlman (Chopped, Project Runway All Stars). Production of Top Elf for Nickelodeon is overseen by Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content.

  • Slime-Tennial Park– Paying homage to Atlanta’s famous Centennial Olympic Park, visitors can take a spin or a swing on an exciting slime-inspired playground.
  • Slime Bubble-Torium– In this slime bubble-filled world, guests can burst goopy green bubbles.
  • Slime Central– It’s slime time, where visitors receive Nickelodeon’s ultimate honor of being slimed.

Nickelodeon turns Aventura into Slime City ... for the whole family

Get ready slime-ballers. Slime City Miami, a new pop-up experience that allow fans to play with the iconic green goo, is heading to Aventura Mall Dec. 6-Jan. 20.

The ooey gooey installation, which was first staged in Atlanta this summer, is moving to South Florida because the region is such a fun-time destination, according to spokesman John-Michael Hines.

“Miami is a city with something for everyone, something for every family,” Hines says. “And Aventura Mall is one of the most popular malls in the country.”

Hines is the general manager of Feld Entertainment, which is producing Slime City Miami for Nickelodeon.

What can you actually do?
Hines says the first Slime City was themed around Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park, but that Slime City Miami will have a beach theme.

Inside the 20,000 square foot space, participants can get slime-tastic by:

- Slime HQ: You can touch slime and play with various wheels and levers.

- Slime Central: You get a poncho so that when you get slime dumped on you, it won’t stain your clothes. You can go into a solo slime tank for a VIP add-on ticket.

- Great Wall of Slime: You can push in the oversized pins or move large levers in the wall to make different shapes or impressions (great for Instagram shots).

- Slime Bubble-Torium: The slime bubbles are really large balloons that kids can throw and kick around (and yes, even pop on occasion).

- Slime Lab: If you purchase an add-on ticket, you can go inside this slime workshop and create your own take-home slime concoction.

The history of Nickelodeon’s slime

Today, two or three generations now think of slime as being synonymous with Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, when TV, movie and pop music stars risk getting a vat of viscous green slop (the formula is vanilla pudding, apple sauce, green food coloring and oatmeal) dumped on them.

But the idea first made it onto television in Canada in a show called “You Can’t Do That on Television," which was also broadcast in the States in the ’80s. Later, the Nickelodeon game show “Double Dare” made sliming a regular thing on the cable channel for children, using it on shows such as “Wild and Crazy Kids,” “Figure It Out" and “Weinerville." When Nickelodeon moved the slime attack to their awards show, it went viral, before going viral was even a thing.

Slimers will also want to know that Nickelodeon is staging SlimeFest music festival March 21-22, 2020, at the Forum in Inglewood, California. The bill for the two-day, family-friendly event will include French Montana, Blanco Brown and JoJo Siwa and culminate in the live broadcast of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 (also from the Forum) on March 22.
