Jamie Lynn Spears May Have Just Confirmed That a 'Zoey 101' Reboot Is In the Works

Jamie Lynn Spears is adding some fuel to the fire when it comes to rumors of a Zoey 101 reboot. The actor who starred on the beloved Nickelodeon series from 2005 to 2008, posted a cryptic photo on her Instagram page that has fans speculating that a reboot could be in the works.


Jamie took to Instagram on Wednesday (November 13) night with a photo of a page in a script where most of the dialogue was crossed out except for two critical details. One line read, "Gimme that bacon." While another character's name was in full view: Sean. Fans of the show will recall that bacon was a central and hilarious theme throughout the shows four seasons, and while there was no character named Sean, Zoey's love interest was Chase played by Sean Flynn.

There is a possibility that Jamie was posting a throwback photo of a script from her glory days as Zoey Brooks, but it seems like she's got a little more up her sleeve.

Earlier this year, there was some speculation that a reboot was in the works. While none of the cast confirmed it, Jamie did have a hilarious response on social media. "Yo, Nickelodeon have your people call my people,"she replied on Instagram.

The reboot/revival is rumored to focus on Zoey's life 10 years later, where she'd have a couple kids in the show, just like real life.

In July the entire cast got back together for a reunion as well. Unfortunately, Jamie wasn't there because she was busy filming Sweet Magnolias in Atlanta. When the cast tried to FaceTime her, unfortunately, she was already in bed. "Not only did I miss the reunion, but I also missed the FaceTime, because I'm lame and fell asleep...." she wrote on social media. "Thank y'all for the video and hope to see y'all very soon."

Here's to hopefully seeing a lot more Zoey in 2020!

Viacom Partners with Okko in Russia

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has reached a distribution agreement with Russian online streaming platform, Okko. As part of the deal, Viacom’s kids’ content is now available to Okko’s subscribers for the first time, giving them Video on Demand (VoD) access to a raft of popular Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. content.


Popular shows set to debut on the platform will include PAW Patrol, The Loud House, Dora the Explorer, Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

Elena Balmont, Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Viacom International Media Networks in Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Baltic States and CIS said: “We are really excited to collaborate with Okko, which are one of the leading OTT platforms in Russia. The deal will bring our most popular Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. shows to millions of subscribers across the region, not only via their televisions but also through their mobile devices and consoles.”

Ivan Grodetsky, CEO of Okko, added: “At Okko we always strive to provide customers with a wide variety of quality content from around the world. This new deal with Viacom will bring the best of pre-school and animated content directly to our platform, allowing access to the most exciting Nickelodeon shows at any time of day.”

NE-YO to Fool the School in New Holiday Episode of 'The Substitute', Premiering Saturday, November 30, 2019 on Nickelodeon

NE-YO is set to guest-star on the holiday-themed episode of Nickelodeon's hit hidden camera prank show The Substitute, HollywoodLife has revealed!


The holiday-themed episode of The Substitute will air Nov. 30, at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. The episode will feature singer and World of Dance judge NE-YO, who will transform into three completely unrecognizable substitute teachers at John Muir Middle School in Burbank, California, pranking students as a master chef with a disastrous recipe for gingerbread cookies and eggnog, an out of control ‘90s rocker with an appetite for destruction, and a quirky artist with an unusual flair for the arts. He is completely unrecognizable with each and every look!

First look photos show the incredible transformation process for NE-YO. He clearly spent a lot of time in the makeup chair. From the prosthetic nose to a curly wig, the singer went to great lengths to go undercover. Check out NE-YO’s ’90s rocker below!

The Substitute features celebrities who are transformed by a team of Hollywood special effects artists to go undercover as a substitute, surprising unsuspecting kids in schools, camps, and other locations. At the end of the day, the substitute reveals themselves and the organization receives a donation for $25,000. The Substitute premiered in Oct. 2019 with John Cena guest-starring, following two specials that aired earlier this year with Henry Danger star Jace Norman and late-night host and YouTuber Lilly Singh. Additional celebrities who will appear on The Substitute will be announced at a later date.

New Live-Action 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Series Reportedly Coming To Netflix

Viacom has kept the live-action part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise on the back-burner for a while now, following Paramount and Nickelodeon's Out of the Shadows theatrical movie in 2016, however, this may be about to change!


Earlier this year, co-creator Kevin Eastman teased that there might be a live-action TV show brewing in development and while nothing was outright confirmed and still hasn’t been, We Got This Covered has heard from their sources – the same ones who said Bill Murray was returning for Ghostbusters 3 and that a Scream reboot was in the works, both of which we now know to be true – that it is indeed happening and it’ll be coming to Netflix.

The news follows Nickelodeon and Netflix forming a new, multi-year output deal to produce original animated feature films and television series - based both on the Nickelodeon library of characters as well as all-new IP - for kids and families around the world.

From what We Got This Covered understands, it’ll be produced by Nickelodeon and aimed at teens, with the tone said to be close to the original comics and the adaptation overall apparently quite faithful to the source material. Besides that, and a possible 2021 release, not too much else is known at the moment, but this is still pretty exciting.

After all, a TMNT show more closely aligned with the comics of the 1980s is an interesting idea, especially given the latitude of Netflix. And while some may prefer to see a new movie, a TV series could make it easier to really dive into what’s become a rather complex mythology for the Turtles. Not to mention that there’s a pretty deep history to mine here, including both the original comic runs and the more recent stuff from IDW Publishing.

Netflix is also currently in the midst of producing a live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Canada--It’s time to pull up the Thinking Chair and follow the paw prints as Blue and her crew return in Nickelodeon’s brand-new preschool series Blue’s Clues & You!, debuting Monday, Nov. 11, at 1:05 p.m. (ET/PT) on Treehouse in Canada. Steve Burns (Steve) and Donovan Patton (Joe) will reprise their roles in the series premiere, “Meet Josh!,” and help new live-action host Josh (Joshua Dela Cruz) and the audience solve their first game of Blue’s Clues.

Blue’s Clues & You! will feature brand-new elements alongside refreshed iconic items from the original series, including:

  • New CG-animation for Blue and Magenta;
  • An updated Handy Dandy Notebook equipped with a new blue crayon and smartphone technology, allowing Josh and Blue to receive emails and video calls;
  • An all-new Handy Dandy Guitar;
  • The return of fan-favorite characters: Tickety Tock, Slippery Soap, Shovel, Pail, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Cinnamon, Paprika, Felt Friends, Sidetable Drawer and Mailbox, plus the original Thinking Chair;
  • And the introduction of Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper’s newest additions—twins Sage and Ginger.


A remake of the groundbreaking, curriculum-driven interactive series Blue’s Clues, Blue’s Clues & You! follows Blue as she invites viewers to join her and Josh on a clue-led adventure and solve a puzzle in each episode. With each signature paw print, Blue identifies clues in her animated world that propel the story and inspire the audience to interact with the characters.

Blue’s Clues & You! will make its world premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday, Nov. 11, at 1:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The first three episodes are available to stream for free today on Vudu. To celebrate the launch of Blue’s Clues &You!, the 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature a brand-new float inspired by the network’s highly anticipated preschool show.

Wayside is based on Louis Sachar’s best selling book series. Millions of young readers have enjoyed the comically-absurd tales of students on the top floor of Wayside, a quirky grammar school that was accidentally built 30-stories high.

The original plans called for 30 classrooms on the ground floor, but the builder made a mistake and stacked all 30 on top of each other (he said he was sorry).

Now the students on the 30th floor enjoy a world where pigtails come to life , class elections are decided playing dodgeball, and being turned into an apple “is just part of growing up.”

Wayside is more than just another classroom comedy. It is a fantastic, defiant romp through the peculiar twists and turns of kid logic--which just happens to take place in school.
