NEW YORK -- SEPTEMBER 27, 2019 -- Tilting Point, Nickelodeon and Nukebox Studios, the mobile game developer behind the hit cooking game Food Truck Chef, today announced SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off, a brand-new mobile game where players get behind The Krusty Krab grill and serve orders to a cast of characters from the beloved animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants. Developed by Tilting Point and Nukebox Studios in partnership with Nickelodeon, the game will be available on iOS and Android devices this Winter.

In SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off, fans play as SpongeBob where they cook Krabby Patties in a competition against other players. Along the way, they explore Bikini Bottom, customize their underwater kitchens and interact with familiar faces from the SpongeBob SquarePants series. More details on the title, including release timing, will be revealed at a later date.

The game itself will see you playing as the titular sponge serving various characters from the show. As you can see in the trailer above and screenshots below, Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy and Patrick all make an appearance. You'll have to create the various orders that appear above the character's heads in speech bubbles and serve them before their personal timer runs out.

It doesn't appear that you'll just work at the Krusty Krab the entire time. Other locations you'll recognise from the show will also double up as restaurants where you'll have to serve different dishes from solely Krabby Patties.

Outside of SpongeBob's pineapple abode, we see a pancake stand and it appears that Sandy Cheeks is throwing a barbecue in her treedome. If other locations are present then we can possibly expect to see Plankton's Chum Bucket also make an appearance.

Nights Of The Jack, a Halloween jack o' lantern experience at King Gillette Ranch in the heart of Calabasas, California has announced the fangtastic news that they are partnering with Nickelodeon to host installations inspired by beloved series SpongeBob SquarePants and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the network's iconic animated series and the revival of the network's beloved horror anthology series!


Nights Of The Jack is more than your traditional Halloween attraction. Vast grounds of intricately hand-carved and illuminated pumpkins welcome visitors as they make their way through the half-mile trail around the ranch.

This year, in partnership with Nickelodeon, the event will feature a special SpongeBob SquarePants installation, which brings to life fan-favorite SpongeBob characters and iconic Bikini Bottom places through an illuminated pumpkin display, as well as an Are You Afraid of the Dark? pre-show tent space to include twisted surprises, along with an interactive augmented reality experience.

The grounds will also feature a live pumpkin carver, gift shop, food trucks from some of Los Angeles’ most popular dining destinations, "The Spookeasy Bar" @ Nights of the Jack, which will serve traditional alcoholic beverages as well as specially crafted Halloween cocktails, and tons of other “Instagrammable” moments for all to enjoy!

Rainbow's '44 Cats' Renewed for Season Two

Italian content powerhouse Rainbow Group has announced the pawsome news that it's popular CG-animated series 44 Cats has been renewed for a second season! 44 Cats debuted last year and is already a ‘pawsome’ success in various countries across the world, enjoying fast growth in both broadcasting and licensing.


Set in the world of animals, 44 Cats follows the daily adventures of Lampo, Milady, Pilou and Meatball – four adorable kittens who are part of a music band named The Buffycats.

The protagonists live and play in the Clubhouse, a garage beside old Granny Pina’s house. Their adventures explore the themes of friendship and altruism: the four cats love helping others and always find creative solutions to everyday hitches and help other cats in need. The series promotes positive attitudes and conveys educational messages dealing with important themes such as tolerance, diversity and solidarity in a funny way.

This eagerly anticipated show made its world debut on Rai Yoyo in Italy on Monday 12th November 2018. Nickelodeon International acquired the broadcast rights to the series in May 2018, and has been rolling the animated series out on Nickelodeon channels and branded blocks around the world, excluding Latin America, throughout 2019. It's currently unknown whether Nickelodeon will acquire the rights to 44 Cats season two.

44 Cats will also make its Canadian premiere on Treehouse TV on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 12:40 p.m. (ET/PT).

Season two of 44 Cats will contain 52 x 13-minute episodes, bringing the number of episodes of the series up to 104 x 13 minute episodes. The second season of 44 Cats is expected to be delivered soon.

44 Cats is inspired by the very popular Italian kids song "44 Gatti", which, in 1968, won the 10th edition of the Zecchino d'Oro and has since entered the collective imagination of Italians.

44 Cats is the first Rainbow Group production jointly developed with Bardel Entertainment, the Canadian animation studio it acquired in 2015, and jointly produced in collaboration with Antoniano Bologna and Rai Ragazzi, and combines great music and edutainment with high quality animation. The series also marks Rainbow’s (Winx Club, Regal Academy, Club 57, Mia and me, Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends) inaugural foray into preschool programming.

Rainbow inked a licensing deal for 44 Cats with Thai Group’s Hong Kong-based company, Toy Plus in August 2018. Under the terms of the agreement, Toy Plus will develop a variety of products including interactive plush, figurines, play sets, musical toys and more based on the music, creative play patterns and collectability featured in the series. The line of merchandise debuted in Hong Kong in October, and is slated to become available for purchase around the world in fall 2019. Media Service Zawada represents the property in Poland.

Rainbow has also secured a new licensing deal for 44 Cats with holistic lifestyle company Artsana Group. Under the agreement, the company will develop a range of licensed 44 Cats-themed infant educational toys for infants and a nursing line under its Chicco brand, the largest infant brand in Europe. The deal also includes apparel and accessories collections by Prenatal and Chicco. Products are expected to hit retail shelves later this year and will be supported by a dedicated, high-level marketing campaign delivered jointly by Rainbow and Artsana Group, which is also based in Italy.

Additionally, Rainbow has tapped The Joester Loria Group (JLG) to represent the 44 Cats animated series in the U.S., and Bandai America has been appointed by master toy partner Toy Plus to distribute their full range of 44 Cats toys in the U.S., Canada and Australia markets. A collection including figurines, play sets, plush, and musical toys will debut at retailers early next year. Simba Dickie Group’s is the exclusive distributor for Europe and the Middle East.

44 Gatti become the most watched Italian-produced cartoon of 2018 when it debuted on Rai Yoyo on Monday 12th November 2018, recording record ratings of 527,000 viewers and a 2.71% audience share, helping Rai Yoyo to continue to be the most watched children's channel in Italy! Since its debut, 44 Gatti has also held the record for the highest viewing share amongst children aged 4-7 years, reaching 16% and an average audience of 350,000 viewers in the 19.15 timeslot.

Rainbow SpA will be showcasing its portfolio of top-rated properties, including 44 Cats and Winx Club, at Brand Licensing Europe (BLE). Rainbow's booth will be situated at B180.

Nickelodeon Goes Behind-The-Scenes of 'The Casagrandes' at the 2019 Ottawa International Animation Festival

Nickelodeon is set to premiere The Casagrandes, the network's highly-anticipated upcoming animated The Loud House spin-off which will follow Ronnie Anne and her chaotic multi-generational family in Great Lakes City, on Monday, October 14, 2019, and to celebrate, Nickelodeon today, Friday, September 27, 2019 hosted a special presentation of The Casagrandes at the 2019 Ottawa International Animation Festival!


The Casagrandes tells the story of Ronnie Anne, an independent, adventurous 11-year-old who explores city life with her big, loving, multi-generational Mexican-American family. Her new life promises to be an adventure, especially now that she’s living under one roof with her grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins, and a sass-talking parrot.

Titled "Behind-The-Scenes of Nickelodeon's The Casagrandes", the hour-long special presentation took place at the Château Laurier - Jam Filled Drawing Room at 10:30 a.m., and invited OIAF attendees to go behind the scenes with Nickelodeon's newest series. Guests joined Karen Malach (Producer), Miguel Gonzalez (Art Director), and Alan Foreman (Supervising Producer) for a lively discussion, along with a Q&A on how the animated show came to life.

The event was open to all TAC delegates and directors from OIAF19 competition and showcase selections and pre-registered students.

Prior to their The Casagrandes panel, Nick also hosted the Nickelodeon ART + BIZ Day: Networking Breakfast" in the Château Laurier - Jam Filled Drawing Room at 9:30 a.m. The event's description was as follows:

"Looking for new artists, new visions and a chance to meet with some of the filmmakers being showcased as part of the OIAF19 programming? Hosted by Nickelodeon, Art+Biz Day features a networking breakfast, a special presentation and a signing.

The breakfast offers a chance to sit down with other Delegates, network, and meet Festival Filmmakers.

Afro pop singer Teni the entertainer, pop singer Fireboy and Hip-Hop artist Rema are set to take centre stage at the Nickelodeon NickFest Nigeria 2019, brought to you by Maltina and scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28 September and Sunday, 29 September 2019 at the Federal Palace, Balmoral Event Centre.


The entertainment packed event will be hosted by Nigerian radio presenter, Mannie Essien and will be co-hosted by talented Nigerian child singer, Amarachi Uyanne, also popularly called Amarachi Dance.

This year, families can anticipate an amazing character lineup and performances by Nickelodeon’s International superstar characters, including: SpongeBob SquarePants; Adventure Bay’s intrepid Paw Patrol pups: Skye, Rubble, Marshall and Chase; Shimmer and Shine, the twin genies who can solve any problem will be performing for the first time in Nigeria; family favorites The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Turtles, and many more.

The Nigerian Breweries Plc says it is set to hold this year’s edition of its biggest family festival, tagged “Nickfest” in Lagos on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29.

The company’s Portfolio Manager, Non-Alcoholic Drinks, Mrs Ngozi Nkwoji, said on Monday in Lagos said that Nickfest was a very important investment for the company as it recognises the significance of family time.

Acording to her, Nickfest is an annual family spectacle, a weekend of epic entertainment that has annually, since 2017, welcomed over 4,000 children and parents.

Nkwoji said the company was always excited whenever they get opportunities to share happiness, especially when they bring families together for fun and excitement.

Mark Hamill Voiced 'Invader Zim' in Show's Original Pilot

We all know Invader Zim's iconic voice. But did you know that it could of sounded much different to what we know and love?


The original pilot for Invader Zim featured legendary actor Mark Hamill (Star Wars) provide the lead voice. Debuting on Nickelodeon in 2001, Invader Zim creator Jhonen Vasquez managed to launch a character that is still relevant today. Despite being canceled after just two seasons, the series has continued to find new life through various formats, such as the recent Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus movie on Netflix.

Following the antagonistic alien, Invader Zim was created to target an older demographic for the studio and had a surprisingly quick development process. Nickelodeon contacts Vasquez based on some of his comic books and he quickly came up with the idea for Invader Zim. Once Nickelodeon heard the pitch for the pilot and ordered Invader Zim to series, it then came time for Vasquez to figure out who would voice his lead character. Fans of the character may associate Richard Steven Horvitz (The Angry Beavers) with the role, but it was the man behind Luke Skywalker who was originally going to supply the voice.

Mark Hamill's casting came during Vasquez' initial search for the voice of Zim. When he started this search, Vasquez wanted to find someone with a distinct voice so that the actor didn't have to do a weird voice every time. This led him to Hamill - who has a prolific voice career - and he cast him in the role. Hamill recorded his part for the original pilot, but Vasquez decided late in the process that Hamill's voice was not working with Zim and they went their separate ways.

Despite having an entire pilot with Hamill's voice recorded, the audio of Hamill's take on the character has never been released. Considering Vasquez's preference to just let the natural voice of whoever he cast be how Zim sounds, then it isn't difficult to imagine what Hamill would bring to the role. If it would've stuck, Invader Zim could've been another notch in his voice acting work, which includes one of his most well-known roles as Joker, as well as voice work on Nickelodeon's Lucky, SpongeBob SquarePants, Danny Phantom and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the actor also wants to star in Netflix's upcoming live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series).

Once Invader Zim and Vasquez did move on from Hamill as the voice of the titular character though, it wasn't the last time that the voice was changed. Vazquez's first choice to take over the part was Billy West (Doug, Ren & Stimpy) and he did so in the pilot. But, West was replaced with Richard Steven Horvitz once the how was given a full-season order. One of the reasons for this was West's involvement with Futurama, as he voiced the lead character, Phillip J. Fry, with Vasquez saying that Billy West was "too well known" and that he wanted all of the voices for the main characters to be unique and not voices people had heard before. Also, due to Futurama still being on the air at the time, Vasquez did not want the same voice actor to be the lead in two contemporaneous sci-fi comedies.

2 September, 2019 – Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) announced the launch of the BOOKIDS BY Nickelodeon app, the world’s first mobile subscription offer to a digital library of kids’ books that includes all Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon’s most beloved characters. The exclusive E-Book service is available in France on Android and iOS, as well as an add-on through VIMN’s Pay-TV partners.

‘We’re very excited to announce the launch of our first mobile E-book service of Nickelodeon content in France,’ said Raffaele Annecchino, President and MD of VIMN Southern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa, and President of Digital Mobile Strategy for VIMN, ‘Bookids by Nickelodeon is an innovative digital library that will give kids and families even more ways to interact with our content, now available via our E-book app on all their mobile devices.’


The app offers nearly 200 e-books published by Nickelodeon and will be refreshed with an average of 10 new books every month. Kids can read books featuring their favourite Nickelodeon heroes such as SpongeBob, PAW Patrol, Ninja Turtles, The Loud House, Dora The Explorer, Shimmer and Shine, and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

The user-friendly digital library is divided by themes and ages (“3-7 years” and “6-12 years”). Categories include:

  • « AUDIO BOOKS»: children can read along while listening to the story, improving their reading abilities
  • « ILLUSTRATED BOOKS » for toddlers
  • « CHAPTER BOOKS » for grown ups
  • « ACTIVITY BOOKS » books with interactive games: drawing, coloring, puzzles

These categories will be updated with other event categories (Holiday Specials, PAW Patrol Specials, SpongeBob SquarePants’ 20th Anniversary etc.).


BOOKIDS BY Nickelodeon features an off-line connection mode, a “progressive download” system and a “multitask mode” for audio books.

Available on mobile and tablet via Android and IOS, the app will be on Google Play and the App Store for 6.99€ per month (incl. taxes). The app will include an operator authentication system for pay TV or mobile subscribers wishing to access BOOKIDS By Nickelodeon. The ad-free app, which features a interface similar to that of Netflix, will contain more than two hundred books in total and will be enriched with ten new titles each month.

Bookids will be available to download for Apple iOS and Android devices for free from the App Store and Google Play.

Bookids costs €6,99 a month, and currently has two special offers available: €15.99 for 3 months and €29.99 6 months.

The news follows Nickelodeon Denmark (Danmark) launching "Nick Stories", a similar subscription-based digital reading service that invites kids into the adventurous world of books, earlier this year.

Arrivée dans le Google Play et l’App Store, l’application Bookids réunit tous les personnages des chaînes Nickelodeon. NBA superstar Kyrie Irving will have a whole new set of teammates when he tips off his first season with the Brooklyn Nets this fall, including one very different kind of superstar: SpongeBob SquarePants.

When Nickelodeon’s Consumer Products team joined Nike and Irving to design a new line of sneakers, they agreed to a couple of parameters: the shoes had to be available in sizes from toddler to men’s humongous, and they had to appear in women’s styles so they could be worn on a WNBA court. Most important, the partnership had to feel authentic.

“It’s important whenever we do these kinds of collaborations that there’s a natural connection between our characters and our properties and whoever we’re collaborating with,” Viacom Vice President of Specialty Retail Development and Fashion Collaborations Alana Visco told an audience of Viacom employees earlier this week. “If we have to think about it for longer than 30 seconds, we’re probably better off just not doing it, because the fan of both sides really feels that.”

The fans must have been feeling the authenticity: When Nick put up a couple thousand pairs of Kyrie SpongeBobs up for sale at San Diego Comic Con in July, they sold out in less than an hour. Later that month, the Phoenix Mercury’s Brittney Griner wore all five styles of the sneaker during the WNBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas.

Visco’s remarks came during a panel entitled “Why Inclusivity in Consumer Products Matters,” which was part of Viacom’s first Global Inclusion Week, a series of discussions and workshops dedicated to diversity and inclusion.

The panel was one of dozens planned for the multi-week, global event, and highlighted how awareness of cultural nuances and details comes into play when reaching consumers in varied cultures around the world.

This includes not just finding the right partners for products, but finding the right products and versions of products to begin with. In Europe, for example, magazines are still very popular. Activity books rule in Latin America. And a simple children’s storybook won’t work with a mere translation in Russia, where parents tend to associate a density of language with authentic learning—meaning that eight words on one page of a Paw Patrol book morph into 50-plus words and four paragraphs for the Russian-language version.

“One size does not fit all, and we do make a very conscious effort to think about how our content can travel across the world, and where it cannot, and we need to adapt the content for different markets,” said Linda Lee, vice president of global publishing for Viacom and Nickelodeon Consumer Products.

It’s also important to represent characters in an authentic way, an aspiration that can be challenging to execute across supply chains and far-flung factories.

When the toy team wanted to introduce a second “styling head” (a doll with comb-able hair that includes an assortment of brushes and barrettes) for the character Rox in Nick Jr.’s Sunny Day toy line, their product partner wanted to save money by darkening the skin of a head that had already been produced for main character Sunny. Aside from the fact that Sunny is white and Rox is black, the characters have completely different facial features.

“We insisted on a new Rox head,” said Junist Ortiz, senior director of Viacom’s Global Creative Group. “She has a more defined nose, fuller lips, and a chiseled jaw, and we also insisted that the hair rooting was thicker and fuller.”

To keep costs down, the dolls do share a torso, base and styling tools. But as Nick’s characters grow more diverse, the importance of maintaining consistent skin tones across all product lines becomes more urgent. When Nick introduced Nella the Princess Knight, the brand had to work with partners to devise new colors to accurately represent the biracial character.

“Our team has done a really good job of making sure that we are representing all of our characters in a really authentic way,” says Pam Kaufman, president of Viacom and Nickelodeon Consumer Products. “Because of how we feel as a company, we’ve always pushed our partners to do the right thing and be that way.”

July 22, 2019 - Bikini Bottom is officially making its debut on land — and on the basketball court. Taking Kyrie’s love for Nickelodeon's beloved animated series and fusing it into his shoe, the Nike Kyrie x SpongeBob SquarePants collection is ready for on-court action, and of course, jellyfishing.

SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krabs and Sandy Cheeks all have their own iteration of the shoe built off their unique characteristics. The star of the show, SpongeBob, has a version featuring a porous bright-yellow upper with a brown and red sole symbolic of his everyday outfit. The lovable best friend Patrick Star is known for his cheery pink coloring and green tonal shorts, both of which are represented in his shoe. In Squidward’s, his recognizable seafoam green coloring is prevalent and his typical callous expression can be found inside the heel. Mr. Krabs and Sandy both have low versions of the shoe, incorporating their signature colors and styles.

The Nike Kyrie x SpongeBob SquarePants Collection releases globally August 10.

The video goes on to reveal that Irving has been following the cartoon since its debut in 1999, as well as why he continues to look to the animated series for inspiration and life lessons — he can even be heard whistling the show’s theme song near the end of the video. If you watch closely at the 6:20 mark, there’s also a colorway that hasn’t been shown before, one that closely resembles SpongeBob’s iconic 124 Conch Street pineapple house.

VOICES AT VIACOM: MAKING ‘HENRY DANGER THE MUSICAL’ A NICKELODEON SUMMER EVENT

Paul DeBenedittis, Executive Vice President (EVP) of Programming and Content Strategy at Nickelodeon, transformed a musical episode of Henry Danger into a must-see moment.

When Paul DeBenedittis took on the role of executive vice president of programming and content strategy at Nickelodeon just a few months ago, Henry Danger was already in its fifth season. The superhero comedy series, starring Jace Norman as Henry Hart, a normal kid by day and a sidekick to the superhero Captain Man by night, had an established and passionate fanbase. So when one of the show’s writers, Stephanie Martin, came to the team with an idea for a musical, DeBenedittis knew it was worth pursuing.

Henry Danger: The Musical aired July 27, reaching 2.2 million viewers—its most in more than two years. It also generated 9.2 million views on YouTube, contributing to a record-setting July for Nick, which scored its best month ever on YouTube in views and watch time. The reception was so positive that Nick decided to run a special sing-a-long version on Aug. 3.

“We knew we were onto something and we didn’t want the special to end there,” DeBenedittis says. “I like to think of content as us owning a bit of the Monday morning quarterback story. If you put something out there, you can’t just let it end. You have to keep the social conversation going, to keep our linear and digital channel still fueled by the moment.”

DeBenedittis worked on the programming side at Disney for a decade before joining Nickelodeon in January. As a competitor, he was familiar with Henry Danger’s avid following. Now, he’s in control of the story.

“Having been at Disney for 10 years and watching this series over multiple seasons, it’s a thrill for me to be at the helm, leading the content strategy and planning for the series,” DeBenedittis says. “It’s really quite fun now.”

Here’s how DeBenedittis landed at Nick and how his team made Henry Danger The Musical a Nickelodeon success story this summer:

Nicole Bitette: Tell me a little bit about Henry Danger. Why do you think it’s so successful?

Paul DeBenedittis:Henry Danger is really about a superhero kid by night and a regular teenage kid by day, having to live the duality of these two roles. In this fictional world, he is the sidekick to superhero Captain Man. He’s a kid who lives his regular life, while also trying to keep this secret from his family and friends.

It’s funny. It’s tremendously funny. The team is constantly about elevating the story and keeping the mythology moving. It never feels stale. There’s an element of relatability to a kid that could see himself or herself as a regular kid and fantasy of living this life.

NB: Where did the idea for the musical come from?

PD: From one of the key writers on this series, Samantha Martin. She put together some songs on spec and pitched out a story for half-hour version of the musical to Chris Nowak, the EP and showrunner. I was early on in the company when the show’s EIC pitched me the idea and played me the rough music tracks. It was so funny, so different, so unique that I just knew we had to elevate this and expand it to a 1-hour. That was the beginning of creating this huge tentpole for us. After asking if we could turn this into a 44-minute tentpole movie and event, Samantha and Chris worked to make that happen.

Then we partnered with many different individuals across Nickelodeon, both the creative teams, the strategy teams, our sales teams, even with talent, our social media, digital marketing, and promotion and event synergies, so that we really could lean in on what we saw as our version of Grease Live. We packaged it up this way. I loved seeing everyone lean in and really try to do something different and build this plan so that kids can really feel like this was something very special on Nickelodeon.

It was a huge success. It was our biggest in two years. Fans who had been part of the Henry Danger journey, no matter how old they were—and maybe they aged out of this show—came back to watch this because it’s just so different and fun.

NB: How did you get to your current position?

PD: I started at Nickelodeon about six months ago, when Brian Robbins came onboard heading up [Nickelodeon]. I’m happy to be back at Nickelodeon, because for me, it feels like I’m coming back to a newly refurbished home, given that I had worked for Viacom for about 10 years at MTV. It’s exciting to be back at Viacom with a lot of people that I have admired and worked with over the years.

Prior to Nickelodeon, I spent some time in the AI (Artificial Intelligence) space looking at creating digital personas and computer learning for various fictional characters. Prior to that, I was at Disney for 10 years, where I oversaw programming and content strategy for Disney Channels worldwide.

NB: What made you decide to return to Viacom?

PD: I’ve always had a passion for Viacom and believed in the brand. I was a competitor of Nickelodeon for 10 years, so it was exciting to join forces over at Nickelodeon. With all the change happening at both Viacom, and especially with Brian Robbins as the new lead here, it felt like an exciting opportunity to be at Nickelodeon.

NB: How do you describe what you do to your friends and family?

PD: My job as I describe it to my friends and family is looking at all the content we create, determining the best strategy to achieve the widest reach for our content across our various platforms, and ultimately guide the teams towards the areas that we’re not thinking about in terms of kids’ programming and kids’ content. And, beyond content, how our brand could be reaching kids everywhere they’re at, at as many different touch points, and as many different times in their day.

NB: Where do you go from here?

PD: You know, we’re always open to (doing more musicals). It all comes from a writer bringing a great idea.

I couldn’t be more excited about the new Nickelodeon networks. In addition to Henry Danger, which was an anchor for us on Saturday night, we launched the return of All That. We have a new cycle coming this fall in addition to a live-action scripted, we have a huge live-action non-scripted series and a musical competition show, called America’s Most Musical Family. It’s part of our initiative to bring in a broader kid and family audience in an effort to really lean in on the desire that families, parents, and kids are looking for this sort of co-viewing times that they can actually watch and be entertained together. This series launches this fall and it features Nick Lachey as host.

And then over to animation, we have the new series, The Casagrandes, which is going to be premiering this fall. It’s a really funny show that comes from the team that brings you Loud House. And then, it wouldn’t be Nickelodeon if I didn’t mention SpongeBob, there will be multiple new episodes that we’ll have premiering in the fall and into 2020.

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has announced the finalists of Meus Prêmios Nick 2019, Nickelodeon's Brasil's 20th annual local version of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards!


Update (27/9) - Nickelodeon Brasil has announced the exciting news that Melim will be performing at Meus Prêmios Nick 2019, airing on Saturday 19th October 2019 at 19:00!

Meus Prêmios Nick is Brazil's largest children's and teen awards, and celebrates kids’ favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more! Like previous years, Meus Prêmios Nick 2019 will feature lots of musical performances, irreverence, orange blimps, jokes, social responsibility and, of course, slime!

Over the past month, NickHeads in Brazil have been voting for their favourites to become finalists in each category, with the top four (out of eight) most voted for nominees in each of the 20 voting categories going onto the final stage of voting.

To celebrate the 20th annual MPN, this year's awards will include three new categories celebrating the best of the best over the last 20 years.

In "Melhores Apresentadores (20 anos)", kids can vote for their favourite Meus Prêmios Nick presenter: Lucas Silveira (2010), Di Ferrero (2010), Rodrigo Faro (2012), Sabrina Sato(2014), Fabio Porchat (2015), Christian Figueiredo (2016), Larissa Manoela (2017) and Maisa (2018).

In the "Melhor Show (20 anos)" category, fans can vote for their favourite Nickelodeon show from the last 20 years: NXZero (2009), Anitta (2015), Luan Santana (2018), Kally’s Mashup (2018), Big Time Rush (2012), Drake Bell (2010) and Ludmilla (2016).

Meus Prêmios Nick wouldn't be Meus Prêmios Nick without slime! Fans can vote for their favourite slimy moment from the past 20 years in the "Slime Épico" category: Isa TKM (2009), Di Ferrero e Lucas Silveira (2010), Spencer – iCarly (2013), MariMoon e Larissa Manoela (2013), Fábio Porchat (2014), Eduardo Sterblitch (2014), Felipe Castanhari (2017) eMaisa, Matheus and Kauan (2018).


Kids across Brazil can now vote for who they want to see win a coveted Nickelodeon Orange Blimp Award in the second round of voting online at meuspremiosnick.com.br, on Instagram (using the dedicated posts) and on Twitter using the hashtags below. Fans can vote as many times as they wish to support their favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more!

Nickelodeon is preparing tricks and treats with its hidden camera prank show The Substitute, this time with John Cena going undercover at the Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills in Monrovia, CA. The debut episode airs on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Using a full costume and prosthetics to hide his identity, Cena is transformed into three completely unrecognizable camp counselors, pranking campers as a quirky environmentalist, a fearful fire safety expert and a CPR instructor with an unusual best friend.

The series features stars who are transformed by a team of Hollywood special effects artists to go undercover as professionals in various fields, surprising unsuspecting kids in schools, camps and other locations. During the reveal at the end of the day, each organization receives a $25,000 donation.


Following the premiere of The Substitute, a new episode of the hit family game show Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader will air at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, hosted and executive produced by Cena.

The premiere of The Substitute follows the strong performance of two specials that aired earlier this year, and has been picked up for a full 10-episode order. The Substitute’s first special debuted in April with guest star Jace Norman (Henry Danger), and the second special premiered in May, guest starring multitalented comedian Lilly Singh.

The Substitute is produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation. Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman and Todd Hurvitz (Punk’d), serve as executive producers, with Hurvitz also serving as the showrunner. Jessica Brown, Nickelodeon’s Vice President of Current Series, also serves as an executive producer. Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader is executive produced by Mark Burnett, Chairman of Worldwide Television, MGM (Survivor, The Voice) and Barry Poznick, President, Unscripted Television, MGM (Beat Shazam,The World’s Best). Production of The Substitute and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader for Nickelodeon is overseen by Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content.

Nickelodeon is preparing for the return of The Midnight Society with the all-new Are You Afraid of the Dark? three-part limited series event. Based on the ‘90s kids’ cult classic, and reimagined for a new generation, part one of Are You Afraid of the Dark? will debut on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT), with parts two and three to follow Oct. 18, and Oct. 25, respectively.

Across the three hour-long episodes, Are You Afraid of the Dark? will follow members of an entirely new Midnight Society, who tell a terrifying tale of the Carnival of Doom and its evil ringmaster Mr. Tophat, only to witness the shocking story come frightfully to life. In the just-released trailer, viewers meet the new members of the Midnight Society, get a glimpse at the uncertainty that awaits and prepare for an adventure beyond their wildest nightmares.


The new members of the Midnight Society are: Rachel, played by Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick); Gavin, played by Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.); Akiko, played by Miya Cech (Rim of the World, Always Be My Maybe); Graham, played by Jeremy Taylor (IT: Chapter Two, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween); and Louise, played by Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl, The Worst Witch). The Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, is played by Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).

Are You Afraid of the Dark? is produced by ACE Entertainment (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Perfect Date) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers. The series is written by BenDavid Grabinski (Skiptrace, Happily) and directed by Dean Israelite (Power Rangers movie, Project Almanac), both of whom are also executive producers. Chris Foss is also an executive producer.

One of the Nickelodeon’s most iconic series from the ‘90s, the original Are You Afraid of the Dark? delivered riveting stories of horror to young audiences, all from a kid’s perspective. Are You Afraid of the Dark? is owned by DHX and was created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel, who are also executive producers on the project.
