Dreamia TV Acquires Rights to 'Club 57'; To Air in Portugal and Africa on Biggs

Viacom International Studios Americas (VIS) has announced that Portugal's Dreamia TV network has acquired the rights to the the hit musical series Club 57, which Dreamia will broadcast in Portugal and across Africa via its children's cable network, Biggs. A co-production between VIS and Italian production company Rainbow Group, Club 57 originally premiered in Latin America and Brazil on Nickelodeon and on RAI in Italy. The series also aired on Viacom-owned Telefe in Argentina. The series became an instant hit on all four channels.

VIACOM INTERNATIONAL STUDIOS INKS AGREEMENT WITH DREAMIA FOR CLUB 57 DISTRIBUTION

Buenos Aires, August 29, 2019 - Viacom International Studios Americas (VIS) agreed with Dreamia the distribution of Club 57 to be broadcasted in Portugal and on the African continent through the Biggs youth brand. Club 57 is a co-production between VIS and Rainbow Group originally premiered in Latin America on the Nickelodeon screen and with RAI in Italy.

The musical series features an international cast led by Venezuelan actress Evaluna Montaner (Eva), Italian actor Riccardo Frasari (JJ), Colombian Sebastián Silva (Rubén), Mexican Martin Barba (Aurek), Cuban American Isabella Castillo (Amelia), Venezuelan Ángela Rincón (Sofía), Chilean Carolina Mestrovic (Vero) and Colombian Andrés Mercado (Manuel), among others.

Club 57 follows the adventures of Eva and her brother Rubén, who accidentally transport themselves to 1957. Both of them try everything to return home but Eva falls in love with JJ and decides to remain in the past, triggering a butterfly effect that changes her life for worse. With a mix of music, dance and time travel adventures, Eva must now figure out how to return to the present without giving up her first love.

The story is created by acclaimed screenwriter Catharina Ledoboer, who has written multiple hits including Every Witch Way (4 seasons), WITS Academy and Talia in the Kitchen for Nickelodeon USA; and 3 successful seasons of Grachi, Nickelodeon's Latin American fantasy series.

Go Go Power Rangers! Wednesday, August 28, 2019 marked National Power Rangers Day, a day that officially recognizes the original “teenagers with attitude” and celebrates all things Power Rangers!


The celebration of National Power Rangers Day continues and to kick off this year’s celebration, Hasbro is calling all of Ranger Nation to share their love and appreciation for all things Power Rangers with the first-ever official #HasbroToyPic campaign for the brand! The campaign will run through Friday, September 30, 2019.

Leading the charge with official ambassadors such as @SgtBananas and Professional toy photographer Mitchel Wu of Mitchel Wu Toy Photography, fans are encouraged to use #HasbroToyPic and #PowerRangers across social media platforms to share photographs of their Power Rangers figures. Photographs can range from snapshots of the Power Rangers Lightning Collection to imaginative scenes featuring the Power Rangers. Throughout the campaign, some photos using the #HasbroToyPic hashtag may be featured on the Hasbro Pulse Instagram.

Toms Partners with Hasbro to License Shoes featuring Power Rangers, My Little Pony, Transformers and More

Footwear brand Toms has announced a licensing deal with Hasbro, Inc.!


Through a three-year strategic agreement, the shoe company will create a series of products — including shoes, apparel and eyewear — inspired by the toy maker’s portfolio of hit children’s and entertainment brands, including Power Rangers, Transformers, Candy Land, Monopoly, Tonka, My Little Pony and more.

“Toms is excited to announce our partnership with Hasbro, a classic brand that has touched many generations,” said Liza Doppelt, vice president, global brand marketing at Toms. “This long-term collaboration will launch in Fall 2020 and bring together the iconic Toms styles that give back with the nostalgia of childhood Hasbro favourites.

“The collection of fun footwear for men, women and children will be available at select global retailers.”

“We’re thrilled to work with Toms to provide fans of all ages a new way to engage with the Hasbro brands they love,” added Casey Collins, Hasbro’s GM and senior vice president, entertainment and licensing. “We know that our fans will appreciate the quality and care that Toms takes in the development of each of their designs, and we can’t wait to see people everywhere wearing the Hasbro x Toms collaboration!”

The first wave of Hasbro x Toms products will be available for fall 2020, with additional waves releasing over the next three years. The collaboration will include footwear in women’s, men’s and kids’ sizing. Styles will sell on Toms.com and through select retail channels.

Toms is well known for its charitable and philanthropic efforts, positively impacting more than 94 million lives through the giving of shoes, water and impact grants since the company's inception. The firm is excited to bring Hasbro into the one-for-one fold and continue its mission statement. With every purchase of the Hasbro x Toms collection, Toms will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need.

Earlier this year, the shoemaker expanded its existing relationship with Sesame Street to launch the new Sesame Street x TOMS collection (also part of the “One for One” program).

Last week, Hasbro entered an agreement to acquire Entertainment One for US$4 billion. Hasbro will take ownership of the company’s entire film and TV production slate, including hit kids IPs Peppa Pig and PJ Masks. It’s not yet clear if these properties will be part of the TOMS collaboration moving forward.

Nickelodeon today unveiled their latest teaser trailer for their upcoming Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival! Click play below, and please keep hands and feet inside the ride at all times.


Are You Afraid of the Dark? is a Canadian Twilight Zone-esqie anthology series created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel. It revolves around a group of teenagers who called themselves the Midnight Society that meet weekly at a secret location in the woods, where one member tells a scary story to the rest of the group, some of which are based on public domain fairy tales, short stories or urban legends. Subjects range from abandoned houses and vampires to scary clowns, witches and aliens.

The series debuted in 1990 on the Canadian children's channel YTV and was picked up by Nickelodeon USA in 1991, though it didn’t debut until SNICK’s launch on Saturday, Aug. 15, 1992. The show ran until April 1996, and a revival series with new writers, directors, writers and cast members was produced by Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2000. In all, the series ran for 91 episodes over seven seasons. Tia and Tamera Mowry (Sister, Sister), Will Friedle (Boy Meets World), Neve Campbell, Hayden Christensen, Jay Baruchel, Tatyana Ali, Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Jewel Staite (Space Cases), Emily VanCamp, and two-time Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling are just a few of the household names who have lent their acting skills to the anthology.

Each episode is introduced with the storyteller saying “Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society,” who then would announce the title of that segment. MacHale said the line was a tribute to the series The Twilight Zone, in which creator Rod Serling would introduce the episode by saying, “submitted for your approval.”

In Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival miniseries, through three hour-long episodes, the new Midnight Society will tell a terrifying tale about the Carnival of Doom, only to have the events of the story come to life. The revival will premiere this October on Nick.

The new members of the Midnight Society are: Gavin, played by Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.); Akiko, played by Miya Cech (Rim of the World,Always Be My Maybe); Louise, played by Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl,The Worst Witch); Graham, played by Jeremy Taylor (It,Goosebumps 2:Haunted Halloween); and Rachel, played by Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick,Black-ish). The Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, is played by Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).

The Are You Afraid of the Dark? limited series is produced by ACE Entertainment (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before,The Perfect Date) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers. The series is written by BenDavid Grabinski (Skiptrace) and directed by Dean Israelite (Power Rangers movie, Project Almanac), both of whom will also executive produce.

Paramount Players is also currently working on a feature film adaptation of Are You Afraid of the Dark?.

New Sketch Series Starring Seven Dynamic Kids Premieres
Friday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on YTV Canada

Canada - YTV will premiere All New All That, a revival of the Nickelodeon's iconic '90s sketch series featuring a talented and diverse group of comedians who reflect the spirit and humor of today’s generation of kids, on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 6:30pm (ET/PT)!

Ranging in age from 12-15, each new All That cast member brings their own unique comedic skill to the show, from impressions of today’s biggest celebrities, to original characters inspired by their lives, to physical comedy sketches, revitalizing the series for today's audience. Executive produced by original cast members Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, All That will air regularly on YTV.


The new Kids of Comedy are:

· Ryan Alessi– Born and raised in Chicago, Ryan Alessi, 14, began studying improv comedy at age eight with The Second City Improvisational Comedy Troupe. After moving to Los Angeles, he started studying with The Groundlings and developing his own characters and performing various impressions and accents.

· Reece Caddell– A Denver native, Reece Caddell, 12, started acting at the age of five and began performing sketch comedy when she started a YouTube channel with her two older sisters.

· Kate Godfrey– Kate Godfrey, 15, is an actress, singer and dancer from Scottsdale, Ariz. She began her career in her local community theater at the age of nine and was quickly accepted to the Broadway Youth Ensemble where she performed in New York City.

· Gabrielle Green– Gabrielle Green, 14, moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career after studying theatre at BAK Middle School of Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, Fla. Her credits include acting, voiceover work and working as a brand representative.

· Nathan Janak– Originally from Sugar Land, Texas, Nathan Janak, 14, began acting at six years old. In 2016, he participated in a nine-month intensive actor training program and later moved to Los Angeles. Janak has previously been seen as a guest star in Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger.

· Lex Lumpkin– Lex Lumpkin, 13, is an actor, singer, writer, impressionist and pianist from Indianapolis. His acting career began two years ago when he played the role of “Stuart” in the Indianapolis Repertory Theater’s production of Stuart Little.

· Chinguun Sergelen– Raised in Chicago, Chinguun Sergelen, 13, began acting at age nine. He is a Youth Ensemble member at The Second City Training Center Chicago and Laugh Out Loud Theater.


In the series premiere, the new All That cast will be joined by original All That cast members Kel Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg and Josh Server, who impart advice and words of wisdom to help the new cast sharpen their comedic skills. The episode will also feature a performance by Grammy®-nominated multiplatinum powerhouse trio Jonas Brothers of their smash hit “Sucker.”

Shot in front of a live studio audience, this season of All That will see beloved roles are reprised in some of the series’ most memorable sketches including Mitchell as Good Burger's "Ed"; and Denberg as “Ms. Hushbaum,” the hypocritical “Loud Librarian.” The season will also feature musical performances from today’s hottest artists, including JoJo Siwa, Daddy Yankee, Ally Brooke and Kane Brown, with surprise guests from the worlds of TV, film, comedy and more. The show's iconic '90s theme song, "All That", performed by TLC also makes a welcome return.

The All New All That made its world premiere on Nickelodeon USA on Saturday, June 15, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

The all-new episode of The Loud House is going to put the HIP in FRIENDSHIP, the ICK in CHICKEN, and the LIT in LITERALLY!

In the all-new episode "A Grave Mistake", Lucy faces off against her friend Haiku to become the new president of the Young Morticians' Club at school! Then, later in "Leader of the Rack", Leni is promoted to temporary manager at work, but worries about remaining good friends with Miguel and Fiona. (#410)

Two separate competitions were awarded Thursday (June 6, 2019) night in a joint ceremony: Global Excellence and North America. The first competition recognizes outstanding achievement from the leading media companies on every continent; The latter competition celebrates marketing and design teams in the United States and Canada. The Promax Awards 2019 ceremony was hosted by Penny & Sparrow at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE.

The ceremony is the culmination of the Promax Conference 2019, the annual summit where the world’s leading media companies and agencies gather for three days of cutting edge insights, strategy, creativity and professional development.

Winners are chosen in a two-step process: an initial round of online peer judging by Promax members and the Board of Directors determines the finalists, while a second round of juries convened in Los Angeles and New York selects the winners.

This year, for the first time ever, jurors from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America convened in New York for a Global Excellence Awards jury. Representing Nickelodeon on the jury was Michael Waldron.

Viacom18 Media, WATConsult win big at 2019 BrandVid Awards

Viacom18 Media won three gold metals at the inaugural edition of the awards

MUMBAI: The first edition of Indiantelevision.com's BrandVid Awards, which recognized the best-in-class brand films, brand integration and branded programming, was a huge success with several agencies, production houses, and projects winning big for cutting-edge work in the world of branded video.

The big winners on the night were Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd with seven metals and WATConsult, from the Dentsu Aegis Network stable, with six. Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd also won the maximum gold metals on the occasion.

Viacom18's impressive tally comprised 3 golds, 3 silvers and one bronze. This also included wins of Best Creative Director for Sanhita Das and Next Gen Award for Vedushi Sinha. Its ‘Nickelodeon Egg Opera Ident’ won the gold in ‘Best Brand Film: Entertainment and Media’ category, silver in ‘Most Innovative Brand Video’ category, and bronze in ‘Non-Fiction’ category.

WATConsult won 1 gold for ‘#Unplanned (Bajaj Allianz General Insurance)’, 2 silvers for ‘Main’ Se ‘Hum’ Real Life Real Stories ft. Pabiben (SBI Life Insurance) and Zor Mat Lagao (Naturolax), and 3 bronze metals for #IndiasBestFreestyler (Apollo Tyres), Tata Harrier Conquers Ladakh (Tata Motors PVBU), and Ensure Diaries Campaign (Ensure) campaigns.

Pocket Aces bagged the Best Branded Content Studio while Excel Entertainment Pvt Ltd. was recognised for making the Most Innovative Brand Video for Gold ‘Stand Up For Gold’. MTV India was honoured with the BrandVid Movers and Shakers of the Year award for its exemplary creative contribution to the industry.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (Zee Cinema) took home the gold in the ‘Best Use of Social Media by a Brand’ category for its ‘#ZingaatWorkoutChallenge’ for the movie Dhadak.

Gold Coast in lights again for Australian-first screening of Dora


The Premier has joined 400 Queensland cast and crew involved in the filming of blockbuster Dora and the Lost City of Gold for a special Australian-first screening on the Gold Coast today.

The movie is the latest release of a string of blockbusters filmed in Queensland and sees Dora The Explorer transformed from the much-loved animated series to a real-life teenager on the big screen.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Dora had led Queensland to a treasure trove of jobs and opportunities.

“Our journey to bring Dora’s adventure tale to Queensland began back in February last year when I met with Paramount Pictures during a trade mission to the United States,” the Premier said.

“I still remember saying, we did it! We knew the incredible economic boost and jobs the production would bring.

“It was a really exciting time and that excitement has only grown through the buzz of production filming and now with the movie coming out.”

The Premier said across 15 weeks of pre-production and 15 weeks of filming, Dora and the Lost City of Gold employed more than 400 Queensland cast and crew, engaged 200 small businesses and injected approximately $43 million into Queensland’s economy.

“Dora’s voyage to the hidden Inca ‘City of Gold’ would not have been possible without our own city of gold – the Gold Coast,” she said.

“In August last year, Dora was the first production to use Village Roadshow’s Sound Stage 9 following its transformation for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.



“The studio was one of 16 locations across the South East used in the film including Tamborine Mountain, Tallebudgera Valley, the Old Museum in Brisbane and Palm Beach Currumbin State High School which was transformed into an all-American school campus.

“I thank Screen Queensland, Paramount Pictures and the film’s cast and crew for taking our State along on this exciting adventure.”

At a recent red carpet event in the United States, the cast of Dora talked about how much they loved filming in Queensland and working with a local crew.

Eva Longoria (Elena):“Brilliant, they were so great, they had big project after big project, so they had Aquaman and us and King Kong. It was one of the most experienced crews I’ve ever seen just for the amount of work they’re continuously doing there.

Isabela Moner (Dora):“Amazing, I love Queensland and I want to go back. They were wonderful, Aussies are such good people. Specifically, I’ve never seen so many women crew members which is so cool, really, really, cool and it felt like such a great environment to be surrounded by.”

James Bobin (Director):“Goldy, I loved it, we had a really fun time. We were there for a long time, about 7 months last year and I loved it.”

Eugenio Derbez (Alejandro): The people in Queensland are the best crew I’ve ever worked with, I swear. They’re the nicest people in the universe.”

Screen Queensland’s Acting CEO Jo Dillon said the Production Attraction Strategy was driving a broad range of ongoing positive outcomes for Queenslanders.

“Major feature film productions such as Dora create jobs and opportunities that have made Queensland crews and studio facilities among the most sought after in the global screen industry,” Ms Dillon said.

“They also drive tourists to our shores by showcasing our picturesque locations and the Production Attraction Strategy has made this possible by supporting back-to-back productions in Queensland”.

Dora the Explorer is one of Nickelodeon Junior’s longest-running animated shows, translated into dozens of languages and adapted into video games, stage productions and now, a live-action feature film.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold tells the story of Dora – now a teenage explorer – who accompanies her friends on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost Incan civilization.

It is released in cinemas Australia-wide on 19 September 2019.

Production Attraction Strategy

Since its inception in 2015–16, the Palaszczuk Government through the Production Attraction Strategy has secured 23 high-end television series, feature films and post, digital and visual effects projects to Queensland creating more than 7,500 jobs and delivering a boost to the economy in excess of $679 million.

Nickelodeon Cancels 'Double Dare' Revival

Marc Summers has announced on Twitter that Nickelodeon has sadly decided to cancel and not renew it's Double Dare revival for a third season. Marc also revealed that Nickelodeon will premiere the remaining eight episodes during Fall/Winter 2019 - four episodes in October (Halloween themed week) and four episodes in December (Christmas holiday themed), and confirmed that the Double Dare Live tour will also be coming to an end in December 2019.


"Double Dare on tv has been cancelled!," Marc posted on Twitter. "Eight more shows will air in Oct and Dec but then it disappears. So this becomes my FAREWELL TOUR. Last time I will ever perform this show. Go to http://www.doubledarelivetour.com and book some seats. After Dec 22 I’m done!"

Marc also payed tribute to the show on Instagram, posting: "Where do I begin? 33 years is a long time to do anything. Double Dare has been an amazing opportunity for me. And whether they admit it or not, put Nickelodeon on the map. I pushed for ten years and got it back. We shot a total of 60 episodes. Four more will air in October and the last four in December. There will be no season three. So I am announcing my FAREWELL TOUR! Go to www.doubledarelivetour to see all the dates. We are adding more. Check it weekly. But after Dec 22 I WILL NEVER DO THIS SHOW AGAIN! Thanks for all your support over the years. I’ve had a ball and thousands of smiles and laughs entertaining a few generations. Stay tuned for what happens next!"

Hosted by digital creator and actress Liza Koshy, Nickelodeon's Double Dare revival sees a new generation of fans compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives. With Double Dare remaining an iconic touchstone for its original millennial audiences, the new version will feature the gameplay and challenges they remember, as well as appearances from blasts from the past and stars from today, including original series host Marc Summers, who returns to give color commentary on the challenges, lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode. The revived Double Dare premiered on Nickelodeon during Summer 2018.

Series guests include Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg, Jamie Lynn Spears, Josh Server, Rico Rodriguez, Chloe Kim and Lindsey Vonn.



Double Dare premiered on Oct. 6, 1986 in US, on Nickelodeon, and ran from 1986-1993, making it the network’s longest running game show. Marc Summers served as the show’s original host from 1986-1993. Shortly after its debut, Double Dare became one of the most popular original daily programs on cable television. The series went into syndication in 1988, and was later revived in the US as Super Sloppy Double Dare in 1989. The show also ran on broadcast television as Family Double Dare in 1988, followed by new versions on Nick, including Double Dare 2000. The original US version also inspired localised series in the UK (which, hosted by Peter Simon, aired as part of the BBC's Saturday morning show Going Live!) and Australia.

The revival is also spilling off the screen with a live tour, featuring original host Marc Summers and his beloved sidekick Robin Russo, bringing families across North America the chance to become contestants on the show.
