HipDot Studios to Launch SpongeBob SquarePants Beauty Line

SpongeBob SquarePants Is The Newest Beauty Influencer

When you think about beauty influencers, you probably don’t think of SpongeBob SquarePants at first.

This won’t be the case for much longer, however, as the iconic cartoon character has an exclusive line of direct-to-consumer beauty products rolling out, thanks to a new partnership with HipDot Studios!

The HipDot Studios SpongeBob line will offer premium beauty products inspired by characters and will feature a palette, blush bronzer, lip glosses, and face masks that play on the iconic colors of the show.

This launch comes along with the introduction of HipDot Studios, a platform which helps influencers create and launch their own beauty brands. Founded by Jeff Sellinger, Sam Lim, and Mo Winter, this startup recently raised $2.5 million in funding from Founders Fund, Foundation Capital and Ludlow Ventures and brings together a team with experience at beauty brands like Milk Makeup, Kat Von D Beauty, and Lorac.

As part of the platform’s launch, they chose pop culture icon SpongeBob SquarePants as their first influencer partnership.

Why SpongeBob? Why not to partner with an influencer or celebrity who was already embedded in the beauty community? Also: He’s a cartoon character...who doesn’t wear makeup.

Sam Lim, one of HipDot’s Co-founders and Chief Creative Officer, shared with Forbes that SpongeBob actually did wear makeup once on the show. “True fans will remember the episode where he wears a sheer blue lipstick called 'Coral No. 5,' which we made as part of our lip gloss trio,” she explained.


The rest of the collection, however, is less about actually looking like SpongeBob and more about the ethos of the show, which focuses on imagination, joy, and creativity.

Born from a relationship between HipDot Studios and Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP), the two companies saw a unique opportunity for synergy and a chance to leverage a recognizable figure with a well-established brand that was also celebrating its 20th anniversary.

SpongeBob has influenced everything from fashion to art to the Internet over the past two decades, so it makes sense for him to take over the beauty world as well,” said Priya Mukhedkar, Vice President (VP) of Packaged Goods at Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products.

Buzz is also something SpongeBob has that the brand wanted to tap into. Lim shared that their research showed SpongeBob is mentioned every four seconds on social media and has a social fan base of almost 120 million people, two-thirds of which are over the age of eighteen.

But that’s not all. When the HipDot team did a social listening analysis and cross-checked both celebrities and influencers in the beauty community, they found many had posted about SpongeBob within the past year.

“SpongeBob is also garnering quite a bit of ‘cool kid’ street cred for himself lately,” Lim said. “A SpongeBob KAWS painting just sold for $6 million, Vogue put SpongeBob in the background of Kim Kardashian's shoot, and Travis Scott featured him during his halftime show at the Super Bowl.”

It wasn’t just social mentions that solidified the partnership, however. Studying memes has also been a large part of the platform’s launch strategy. HipDot found that memes are one of the most popular ways fans interact with SpongeBob, and utilizing a custom meme campaign presented a way for them to virally extend their target audience.

Tapping into the power of memes as a form of advertising isn’t a new idea, but it does appear to be an effective new way to connect with audiences. From a scientific perspective, research shows memes help make ideas and marketing campaigns more “sticky” or memorable, thus making it a wise approach, especially considering SpongeBob's existing popularity within modern meme culture.

So what’s ahead for this new platform after the SpongeBob product launch? HipDot Studios plans to partner with more influencers, both human and virtual, to roll out additional beauty product lines.

They see the future of beauty being built by the influencer demographic because of the influence they have on beauty purchase decision-making. Their market research showed as much as 65% of Gen Z buyers make their beauty purchase decisions based on social media content.

The fee structure for these partnerships will be organized as licensing deals, but in some cases they may be constructed as joint ventures.

“Specific deal terms are always confidential, but the opportunity to create a new brand can often provide far more upside than what influencers are being paid for social marketing or traditional endorsement deals,” said Jeff Sellinger, Co-founder and CEO at HipDot Studios. “Why take a check for a few million dollars when you can create a brand potentially worth hundreds of millions?”

As the platform is just rolling out, it’s still too soon to tell how fruitful these partnerships will be. However, looking to success stories of top influencers like Kylie Jenner launching thriving, multi-billion dollar beauty brands, it does pose an interesting avenue for beauty influencers to explore.

The HipDot Studios SpongeBob line forms part of the "Best Year Ever", Nickelodeon's year-long global celebration commemorating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. The “Best Year Ever” includes with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special, and leads up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming summer 2020.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and is about to have their own makeup and skincare collection in honor of their 20th anniversary? SpongeBob Squarepants. I know what you're probably thinking, "Wait, what? SpongeBob makeup?" or even "SpongeBob is about to be 20 years old?" And the answer to both of those is "Yes." The HipDot x SpongeBob Collection is set to launch next month on Wednesday, July 17 exclusively on HipDot.com so prepare to take your love for the yellow sponge to the next level.

In a press release sent to Elite Daily, HipDot Studios, an incubator platform for influencers to create their own beauty brands, revealed that they would be releasing a makeup and skincare collection in honor of the cartoon's 20th anniversary. The HipDot x SpongeBob collection will include an eyeshadow palette, a blush bronzer, lip glosses, and sheet masks that are inspired by the show's characters, color schemes, and personalities.

It's worth noting that all HipDot products are cruelty-free and free of things like parabens, talc, petroleum, and phalates. And while the brand didn't reveal too many details about the new collection, they did give a sneak peak of the hero product: the 15-pan eyeshadow palette.

The palette features a range of vibrant hues in matte, shimmer, and metallic finishes that are perfect for creating those bold, bright summertime looks. The eyeshadow palette includes shades like "Bikini Bottom Blue," a light blue metallic, "Wumbo," a cotton candy pink matte, and "Jumpin' Jellyfish," a peachy pink shimmer. So basically, there's a shade that represents and is inspired by every creature in Bikini Bottom.

While HipDot hasn't yet shared the cost of any of the products, their other products are moderately priced with eyeshadow palettes costing $30 and lip glosses costing $12, so I imagine the products in the SpongeBob collection will cost around the same. Which means you won't have to sell a ton of Krabby Patties to be able to afford the products in the new collection.


In addition to the makeup producs in the collection, HipDot shared that there will be a selection of sheet masks holding down the skincare section, and I for one, am very excited. While, again, there are few details surrounding how many sheet masks there will be or what they will look like, my fingers are crossed that the sheet masks will double as character masks with Spongebob's, Patrick's, and Squidward's, and other characters faces illustrated across the front of the masks.

If you're a serious fan of all things SpongeBob, Bikini Bottom, and The Chum Bucket, then I recommend keeping a close eye on HipDot's website so you can cop this new collection as soon as it launches on July 17. Considering the collection is limited edition, you'll want to get your hands on all of the new drops before they sell out — which, let's face it, they probably will sell out super fast. Because I mean, who doesn't want to add SpongeBob-inspired makeup to their makeup collection to liven things up a bit?

What's more, a brand rep for HipDot Studios tells Allure that everything in the collection is vegan and cruelty-free, meaning any SpongeBob fan can use these products without worrying about animal by-products in cosmetics.

Additionally, while HipDot is unable to spill all the details, it did let us in on one secret regarding the lip glosses. "True fans will remember the episode where SpongeBob actually wears a sheer blue lipstick called Coral No. 5. This moment actually inspired one of the lip glosses in the collection," a rep tells Allure via email.

Now, HipDot isn't just releasing a SpongeBob-themed collection randomly. The collection comes as a celebration of the character's 20th anniversary and will drop on July 17. The only caveat? It will be limited-edition so you'll need to snag it before it sells out (and it will). You'll be able to score the eye shadow as well as the rest of the products on hipdot.com.

Are ya’ ready, kids? A SpongeBob-inspired makeup collection officially exists and it’s like the Bikini Bottom was brought to life.

The SpongeBob SquarePants makeup collection was created by clean and cruelty-free makeup brand Hipdot to celebrate the show’s 20th Anniversary, which falls on July 17, 2019. The brand is known for its bold makeup products — especially it’s eyeshadows — so it makes sense that the collection offerings are all about color.

When the beauty world got wind of the Bikini Bottom Eye Palette back in June, the news went viral on the Internet and got makeup collab-lovers excited (understatement). Nickelodeon's hit live-action comedy adventure series Hunter Street returns for an all-new third season this July, and to celebrate, Nick has unveiled a first look at the brand-new season! Filming for Hunter Street season three took place in Amsterdam during Spring 2019, and wrapped on Friday 4th May 2019.

Hunter Street stars Stony Blyden as street-smart Max; MaeMae Renfrow as the independent and resourceful sister Tess; Kyra Smith as the free-spirited youngest Hunter sister Anika; Daan Creyghton as Sal, the genius of the bunch; Thomas Jansen as the fiercely protective eldest brother Daniel; Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Jake Hunter; Kate Bensdorp as Evie; and Ronald Top and Tooske Ragas as Erik and Kate Hunter, the parents of the Hunter family. Joining the cast in season two is Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Jake Hunter.


Joining the cast in season three are newcomers, Dutch singer Sarah Nauta and Dutch actor Eliyha Altena, both of whom also star in the Dutch counterpart of Hunter Street, De Ludwigs.

SpongeBob SquarePants has featured nearly 80 celebrity guest stars - over 50 of them as animated characters - throughout the series' 20 years on Nickelodeon, including David Bowie, Amy Poehler, Betty White, Gene Simmons and more.

BURBANK, Calif.--June 18, 2019--Nickelodeon is celebrating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants by inviting fans to enter into the world of Bikini Bottom at Comic-Con International: San Diego July 18-21, 2019. Headquartered at its 1,800 square-foot booth (#4113) on the convention floor, Nickelodeon will pay tribute to incurably optimistic SpongeBob SquarePants and his undersea friends with activations, panels, talent signings and interactive design elements featuring: The Krusty Krab, The Chum Bucket and Mrs. Puff’s Boating School.

Every day of the convention, Nick’s booth will feature: an interactive game inside The Krusty Krab, where fans will go head to head to complete food orders in a race against the clock; a photo opportunity with a replica of Mrs. Puff’s Boating School; The Chum Bucket towering 22 feet tall over the retail area, where attendees can purchase a variety of exclusive Nick gear and one-of-a-kind collectables; costumed character appearances; autograph signings with SpongeBob SquarePants cast members and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creator and executive producers; and more special appearances to be announced in the coming weeks.


SpongeBob SquarePants celebrates 20 years of nautical nonsence with over 760 animated characters (each pictured) making their Bikini Bottom debut since its premiere on Nickelodeon in 1999.

Nickelodeon will present two panels during the convention: “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” a deep dive into the series, celebrating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants; and “To Shell and Back,” an exclusive history-making TMNT creator panel, comprised of three generations of Turtle creators.

PANELS

SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout!
Drop on the deck and flop like a fish because Nickelodeon is celebrating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants! Dive deep down into the making of the brand-new special, “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout!” with co-executive producers Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli. Voice actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) and Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs) will discuss what it was like to portray their characters in front of the camera for the first time in this live action-animation hybrid special. Moderated by: David Canfield (Entertainment Weekly).

To Shell and Back: An exclusive TMNT creator panel
It’s creator COWABUNGA time! Three generations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creators will take the stage to celebrate the history, fandom, and success of the Heroes in a Half -Shell. This exclusive history-making event will give fans rare access to co-executive producers Andy Suriano and Ant Ward (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), executive producer Ciro Nieli (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and legendary TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. United for the first time, these award-winning creators will answer fan questions, share audience giveaways and unveil never-before-seen original TMNT art. Moderated by Mike Cecchini (Den of Geek).

There are movies and shows, like My Little Pony, Transformers, and Care Bears, that are known as much for their merchandise as their sequels and reboots. April Fugett, ph.D. (professor, Marshall University), Keith Beard, psy.D. (professor, Marshall University), Britani Black, psy.D. (instructor, marshall University School of Medicine), Carrie Dean, m.A., and Casey Collins, M.A. (Marshall University) will discuss their research and findings from a study of participants examining personality measure results with selection of preferred “nostalgic” characters and shows demonstrating how personality informs our choices of the characters we identify with and follow, often for our entire lives. Specific traits that are associated with over 500 nostalgia-inducing characters and their associated rankings will be reviewed. Additional results and other psychological/personality factors will be discussed.

Nickelodeon has unveiled the first poster for Paramount Pictures, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies'The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2019! Check it out below!

In SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, the third SpongeBob SquarePants movie based on Nickelodeon's iconic animated series, reads, SpongeBob and Patrick go on a rescue mission to save Gary, who’s been kidnapped by Poseidon and taken to the Lost City of Atlantic City. The movie will reveal the first time our beloved characters (as kids) met at Camp…a magical moment that brings meaning to the power of true friendship. The movie is going to be a total trip!

The plot of SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge will be an origin tale with a bit of an homage to the Frank Capra holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life. Mireille Soria, president of Paramount Animation, revealed at the VIEW Conference in Turin, Italy in October 2018 that "for the first time ever, we're going to get to the origin of how little SpongeBob met the rest of the Bikini Bottom gang at summer camp," adding that "the film's opening will take place at Camp Coral when all of our favorite characters meet for the first time."

In addition to delving into SpongeBob's character history, the film is also set to depart from previous films as well as the television series in terms of how it's made as well. It's a Wonderful Sponge will be the first SpongeBob feature film not to be animated by the South Korean studio behind the TV show, Rough Draft Korea. Instead, Montreal-based Mikros Image will animate the film. The film will also be the first SpongeBob movie to feature entirely computer-generated animation as the first film was hand animated while the second, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, featured a mix of hand animated and CG-animated scenes.

SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge is scheduled to be released in theaters on Friday, May 22, 2020, to coincide with the Memorial Day Weekend, and as the culmination of Nickelodeon's the “Best Year Ever” event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, which kicked off Friday, July 12 with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special that will feature for the first time the celebrated voice talent behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton playing live-action doppelgänger versions of the animated characters they voice. In the one-hour special, Patrick and SpongeBob journey to the surface world, where they come across a few familiar characters during lunchtime rush at The Trusty Slab restaurant. Meanwhile, the Bikini Bottom residents set up a surprise party for SpongeBob.

Sitting in the director's chair for the movie will be Tim Hill, known for his work on the TV series, who will be directing from a screenplay by Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger and Michael Kvamme. Additionally, Hill co-wrote the script for The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in 2004. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justicecinematographer Larry Fong boarded the project in December 2018. Expected to lend their voices to reprise their roles as well are voice actors Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, Clancy Brown, Mr. Lawrence, Jill Talley, Carolyn Lawrence, Mary Jo Catlett, and Lori Alan. Composer Hans Zimmer will also be providing the music.

Sadly, this movie marks the first SpongeBob SquarePants production to follow Stephen Hillenburg's death. The creator of SpongeBob passed away in November after a battle with ALS, ans is expected to receive an "In Memory Of" credit in the movie.

The film will be the third in the series with The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie having been released in 2004 and its sequel, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, in 2015.

Both The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water were box office successes for the studio, bringing in a combined $465.3 million on a budget of $104 million between the two films.

Since its launch in July 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants has emerged as a pop culture phenomenon. The series has been the most-watched animated program with kids 2-11 for more than 15 consecutive years, and over the past several years, it has averaged more than 100,000,000 total viewers every quarter across all Nickelodeon networks. SpongeBob SquarePants is the most widely distributed property in Viacom International Media Networks history, seen in more than 208 countries and territories and translated in 55+ languages. The Paramount Pictures feature film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water premiered Feb. 6, 2015, landing at #1 opening weekend. Nickelodeon Italy (Italia) is commemorating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants with the “Best Year Ever”—a tribute to one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. SpongeBob launched July 17, 1999, and has reigned as the number-one kids’ animated series on TV for the last 17 years, generating a universe of beloved characters, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony award-winning Broadway musical and a global fan base. Nickelodeon Italia officially kicked off it's “Best Year Ever” celebration with a big party during Nickelodeon SlimeFest 2019 at Mirabilandia on Saturday 15th June 2019. The party will continue with the premiere of the brand-new hour-long SpongeBob Birthday Special, “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout” ("SpongeBob, una grandiosa festa di compleanno"), an original mixed live-action and animated special, on Saturday 13th July 2019 at 14:00! Nickelodeon will also air special moments from the series throughout the year in the lead-up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming summer 2020.

It’s SpongeBob’s birthday in “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” which features for the first time the celebrated voice talent behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton playing live-action doppelgänger versions of the animated characters they voice in the North American dub of SpongeBob SquarePants. In the one-hour special, Patrick and SpongeBob journey to the surface world, where they come across a few familiar characters during lunchtime rush at The Trusty Slab restaurant. Meanwhile, the Bikini Bottom residents set up a surprise party for SpongeBob. The special will premiere on Friday, July 12, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon USA, followed very shortly by a global roll-out, and also features special guest stars, including David Hasselhoff (Baywatch), Jack Griffo (The Thundermans/I Thunderman), Daniella Perkins (Knight Squad), and Kel Mitchell (All That, Game Shakers).

To further celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants' 20th anniversary, Nickelodeon will host a big Sponge-Tastic party at the 49th Giffoni Film Festival on Saturday 20th July 2019, which will include a special screening of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout”!

In the Italian dub of "SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout", the theme song will be performed by Matteo Markus Bok, a very young and talented artist. He sings, plays guitar and piano, dances, acts and speaks four languages perfectly: Italian, German, English and Spanish. The party at Giffoni will include a special sing-along of the iconic SpongeBob SquarePants theme song for fans to join in with!

Following the debut of "SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout", Nickelodeon will treat fans to marathons dedicated to different SpongeBob SquarePants characters every Saturday from 2:00pm up until Saturday 10th August 2019. The SpongeBob room at Acquario di Genova will also receive a new design to celebrate SpongeBob’s 20th anniversary!

I produttori: in un mondo ambiguo è l’unico ad avere una morale

Quando il biologo Stephen Hillenburg ebbe l’idea di fare una serie animata su una spugna marina, difficilmente avrebbe potuto immaginare che vent’anni dopo non solo sarebbe stata ancora in onda, ma, soprattutto, che quell’«organismo pluricellulare» che vedeva nella sua testa sarebbe diventato, nel mondo, un’icona della cultura pop. Purtroppo, la Sla non gli ha permesso di festeggiare questo compleanno: Hillenburg è morto lo scorso 26 novembre. Ma il biologo poi diventato disegnatore ha assistito a tutta l’ascesa della sua buffa creatura, che ha divertito milioni di bambini nel mondo ma anche scatenato proteste, accusata in alcuni Paesi (tra cui l’Ucraina), di turbare la pubblica moralità «promuovendo l’omosessualità», per via di quella stretta amicizia con Patrick, la stella marina sovrappeso.

Il motivo principale di questo successo è che non siamo mai stati accondiscendenti, nemmeno nei confronti di quelli che ci guardano: siamo autentici nella scrittura dello show. Per noi la comicità viene prima di qualsiasi messaggio, sottotesto o insegnamento». E pazienza per il politicamente corretto: «L’unico dotato di una vera morale è il personaggio di SpongeBob. Ha un cuore enorme e fa sempre il possibile per far funzionare il mondo che lo circonda. Nessuno degli altri è come lui ma non intendiamo chiedere scusa per nessuno di loro. Gli spettatori ci seguono per divertirsi. E sono tantissimi gli adulti che ci ringraziano per poter vedere un cartone animato con cui ridono assieme ai figli».

Per festeggiare il compleanno della spugna del Krusty Krab appuntamento con un episodio inedito della serie animata in arrivo il 13 luglio

Lanciato il 17 luglio del 1999, negli ultimi 20 anni ha regnato come serie animata numero uno per bambini. Per celebrare il compleanno di SpongeBob, la spugna gialla dei cartoni animati, Nickelodeon propone un episodio speciale della serie che andrà in onda sabato 13 luglio alle ore 14 (sul canale 605 di Sky). Un originale misto tra live-action e animazione della durata di 45 minuti, che verrà trasmesso anche sabato 20 luglio durante la 49esima edizione del Giffoni Film Festival. Ma i festeggiamenti non terminano qui: durante tutto l’anno ci saranno sul canale momenti speciali fino all’estate del 2020 quando arriverà l’atteso film, prodotto da Paramount Pictures e Nickelodeon, intitolato «The SpongeBob Movie».

I protagonisti
Creata da Stephen Hillenburg, la serie è ambientata a Bikini Bottom, una cittadina sul fondo dell’oceano Pacifico, abitata da creature marine antropomorfe e dotate di intelligenza umana. SpongeBob è una spugna sempre allegra e felice, lavora come cuoco al Krusty Krab, un fast food sottomarino, dove cucina i Krabby Patty, i panini più gustosi dell’Oceano. Il suo migliore amico è Patrick Stella, una stella marina rosa, totalmente smemorata. Tra gli altri protagonisti ci sono anche Squiddi Tentacolo, il polpo di color verde chiaro che ha sempre qualcosa di cui lamentarsi e Mr. Krabs, capo di SpongeBob, il crostaceo più avaro dell’Oceano.

La visione sarà introdotta da Cecilia Padula, Senior Director di Nickelodeon Italia, che davanti ad un pubblico di ragazzi racconterà come SpongeBob sia diventato una delle icone pop più amate da tutte le generazioni.

Gli spettatori guardano SpongeBob per divertirsi. L’episodio “SpongeBob, una grandiosa festa di compleanno”, realizzato con tecnica live-action e animazione, racconta il compleanno di SpongeBob e per la prima volta possiamo ascoltare il talento vocale di SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward e Plancton che suonano con i loro sosia. Nello speciale di un'ora, Patrick e SpongeBob viaggiano nel mondo di superficie, dove incontrano alcuni personaggi familiari durante l'ora di punta al ristorante The Trusty Slab. Nel frattempo, i residenti di Bikini Bottom stanno organizzando una festa a sorpresa per SpongeBob.

Nell’episodio ci sarà anche un cameo con l’attore David Hasselhoff, che torna nei panni di bagnino che l’hanno reso famoso in Baywatch.

Nella versione italiana, la sigla della puntata “SpongeBob, una grandiosa festa di compleanno” è interpretata da Matteo Markus Bok, un giovanissimo e talentuoso artista che ha cantato la sigla per la prima volta dal vivo sul palco di SlimeFest lo scorso 15 giugno a Mirabilandia.

Matteo Markus Bok canta, suona la chitarra e il pianoforte, balla, recita, parla perfettamente 4 lingue: italiano, tedesco, inglese, spagnolo, ed è un grandissimo fan di SpongeBob.

For TIME's fifth annual roundup of the most influential people on the Internet, the publication evaluated contenders by looking at their global impact on social media and their overall ability to drive news.

JoJo Siwa


There is no teen star quite like JoJo Siwa, a relentlessly enthusiastic 16-year-old from Nebraska who sings, dances, and vlogs on YouTube and TikTok. She wears bright colors and plays with unicorn toys; the trademark giant bows that she wears became so popular among tweens that they were banned at a number of schools in Great Britain, one of the star’s few controversies. More recently, she has parlayed her online fame into a real-world music career; as part of a larger creative collaboration with Nickelodeon, she has embarked on tour to perform songs like “Boomerang,” a sugary anthem against cyberbullying that has 700 million views on YouTube. But she still makes time to vlog the more mundane aspects of her life, such as bowling or shopping at Target. Ariana Grande didn’t have to put out a second album, Thank U, Next, just months after her Grammy-winning 2018 project Sweetener. Her success was buoyed, in part, by hype she built via Twitter call-outs that doubled as song lyrics and music videos designed for (and steeped in) internet culture, including a Mean Girls-inspired concept for the album’s title track. Country duo The Belles will join Nickelodeon's JoJo Siwa's D.R.E.A.M. Tour for additional dates following the 71 previously announced shows. Tickets go on sale this Friday (6/14). The now 82-show run kicked off May 17 in Phoenix, AZ and has been named one of StubHub's Top U.S. Summer Tours alongside The Rolling Stones, Queen, Ariana Grande and more!

Making history as the first Country mother-daughter duo since The Judds, Kelli and her mom Jaymie were offered the opportunity of a lifetime to join their close family friend and fellow Omaha native JoJo Siwa on her massive debut tour. If you’ve been to one of JoJo Siwa‘s concerts this summer on her D.R.E.A.M. Tour, you most likely have fallen in love with her tour openers, The Belles!

Made up of Kelli and her mom Jaymie, the two opened up with JJJ about hitting the road with JoJo.

“It’s awesome to be on tour with JoJo because she’s so high energy and makes everything fun,” Kelli says. “I used to take dance from her mom, Jessalyn, back in Omaha when I was little, so we’re all like a big family who’s known each other forever!”

Jaymie added, “The beautiful thing about being on tour with JoJo is to see all the kids in the audience so happy! I love to watch the moms and daughters while we’re performing on stage – we all share the same bond!”

“One song in particular we play during our set, ‘Beautiful Girl’, talks about being strong in who you are, believing you are beautiful just the way you are, and I love sharing that message with not only the young girls in the audience, but also moms like me.”

Kelli also shared their fave thing to do together while on the road: “I love when we all go out to dinner together after a show, or when we go on adventures in different cities during the day. We went to the Space Needle in Seattle, scootered on the pier in San Diego, visited the arch in St. Louis, and toured the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. This is tour is really a D.R.E.A.M come true!”

The Belles will be dropping their new single, “Beautiful Girl” this week!

- Kelli graduated from high school at 16, and moved to Nashville at 18 to be a songwriter. She travels between Omaha and Nashville, and just graduated from the University of Nebraska at age 20.

= Kelli has two brothers, Michael (17), who is captain of his high school hockey team, and Drew (15), who is the drummer in his high school jazz band.

- Jaymie used to sing in a band with her sisters called Mulberry Lane. Their first single, “Harmless,” was top 25 on the Billboard charts.
Kelli’s favorite road snacks are FUNYUNS and Beef Jerky. Jaymie’s favorite road snacks are coffee and almonds.

- Our first tour outfits were created by Maggie Barry, who also makes clothes for JoJo and Lady Gaga. We love all the rhinestones on our bell bottom jeans!

Mystery and adventure returns to Nickelodeon in the third season of the hit live-action series Hunter Street, premiering Monday, July 29, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on TeenNick USA!


A lot has changed for the Hunter family in season three, and a mysterious treasure map brings them on a new and exciting adventure. The Hunter kids will once again need to work together, along with some new friends, to uncover the hidden treasure, outwit dangerous enemies, and discover major secrets about their family’s past along the way.


In the premiere episode, "The Birthday Gift", Anika is celebrating her 14th birthday when she is sent an unusual present – a miniature pyramid wrapped inside a torn treasure map. Before the kids can figure out what it means and who sent it, their parents announce they’ve booked a vacation to get away from renovations at the Hunter Museum. Once there, Sal discovers the gifts tied to a long-lost Aztec treasure – and an ancient curse. A new mystery has begun!

Hunter Street season three stars Kyra Smith as the outgoing leader Anika; Daan Creyghton as Sal, the genius of the bunch; Kate Bensdorp as the adventurous and youngest Hunter sibling Evie; Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as the talented artist Jake; Eliyha Altena as their quirky new friend Oliver; and Sarah Nauta as their brave new friend Jasmyn. Both Altena and Nauta also appeared in the Dutch counterpart of Hunter Street, De Ludwigs.

New episodes of Hunter Street will air weekdays at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on the TeenNick channel, and is produced by Blooming Media.

Nike Kyrie 5 X SpongeBob SquarePants Collaboration to Release in Saturday, August 10, 2019

Continuing the trend of strange but awesome shoe collaborations, Nike may be releasing a crossover with a beloved cartoon character under the sea, SpongeBob SquarePants!

Update (7/19) - - The SpongeBob and Patrick editions of the Nike Kyrie 5 X SpongeBob SquarePants line of sneakers will be released on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.! The sneakers will be available in a variety of sizes and price points: KYRIE 5 ($130), BIG KIDS' KYRIE 5 ($110), LITTLE KIDS' KYRIE 5 ($80), and TODDLER KYRIE 5 ($55)! Earlier this year, the shoe model’s namesake, Boston Celtics Point Guard Kyrie Irving told Complex about several TV-themed collabs he had in the works, including a pair linked to SpongeBob SquarePants. That's seemingly been confirmed with this first look at a unique make-up that pulls its palette directly from the cartoon's lead character.

A first-look of the bold yellow pair was shared earlier today via @leo_zd_37 on Instagram, and by the looks of it, it takes clear inspiration from the show’s lead character and his iconic look.


The upcoming Kyrie 5 colorway, dubbed the KYRIE 5 X SpongeBob, features a full yellow-bodied upper with golden dot “spongey” accents decorated throughout to mimic SpongeBob’s porous body. The gum soles feature a red, white and brown scheme that mimics the colors of SpongeBob’s iconic tie, shirt and squarepants combo. Finishing the design is Kyrie’s insignia on the tongue tab, a wavy, sponge style Nike swoosh, and the Nickelodeon logo atop the Flytrap midfoot wrap, all of which suggests that this is an official project.

NBA star Irving and Nike recently released a Kyrie 5 inspired by his favorite show Friends. It's also been reported that Irving is a huge fan of SpongeBob and even quotes some episodes word-for-word in his teams' training rooms. Irving is also slated to be working on a Family Guy edition of Nike Kyrie 5's.

In addition to TV series, Irving also recently released “Mamba Mentality” (for Mamba Day 2019) and “Have a Nike Day” editions of his signature Nike Kyrie 5 silhouette.

As of now, no official photos or release date has been shared for the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired Nike Kyrie 5, while the image above isn't even guaranteed to be the final version of the shoe, but Irving initially implied that there would be a Patrick Star colorway, so this pair may be part of a multi-shoe pack in the works. Keep an eye out for updates here as soon as more about this collaboration is announced.

Update (6/13) - It has been confirmed that the Nike Kyrie 5 X SpongeBob SquarePants Collaboration will feature a pair styled after Patrick Star, with Nickelodeon hinting that they'll also be pairs styled on Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krabs and Sandy Cheeks! New on-foot images of of the SpongeBob and Patrick kicks have also been released!

The "Patrick" Kyrie 5 is highlighted by it's pink construction, yellow midsole and "Patrick Star" detailing behind the tongue. Both the SpongeBob and Patrick kicks come equipped with Nickelodeon branding on the tongue shroud with "NIKE" text on the heel inspired by the show title's font. Release details have not yet been announced, although Nick has revealed that they should be released this summer, so stay tuned for more info. Both have the Nike logo in the SpongeBob SquarePants font on the heel.

Additionally, on Instagram, Nickelodeon has hinted that Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krabs and Sandy Cheeks will also be getting their own kicks, with the network releasing the famous NIKE ticks stylized after each character!

Sandy's colorway draws its white, grey, and brown colorway from her space suit, and adds a dash of signature detailing via a red dot on the midsole and a flower on the midfoot overlay, and Mr. Krabs' color schedule features light jade and soft blue, accented by blue and gold.

The sneakers also feature a Nickelodeon stamp across their Venus Flytrap-inspired lace sheath for co-branded styling.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, and Nickelodeon are commemorating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants with "Best Year Ever", a year-long global celebration of one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. The “Best Year Ever” includes with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special, and leads up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming summer 2020.

It’s SpongeBob’s birthday in “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” which features for the first time the celebrated voice talent behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton playing live-action doppelgänger versions of the animated characters they voice. In the one-hour special, Patrick and SpongeBob journey to the surface world, where they come across a few familiar characters during lunchtime rush at The Trusty Slab restaurant. Meanwhile, the Bikini Bottom residents set up a surprise party for SpongeBob. The special, premiering Friday, July 12, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon USA, also features special guest stars, including David Hasselhoff (Baywatch), Jack Griffo (The Thundermans), Daniella Perkins (Knight Squad), and Kel Mitchell (All That, Game Shakers).

SpongeBob launched July 17, 1999, and has reigned as the number-one kids’ animated series on TV for the last 17 years, generating a universe of beloved characters, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony award-winning Broadway musical and a global fan base.

Nickelodeon also recently revealed plans for a series of SpongeBob SquarePants spin-offs.

“That’s our Marvel Universe,” Nickelodeon president Brian Robbins said in February. “You have this amazing show that’s run for almost twenty years.”

Robbins pledged that the network would still continue to make our favorite yellow sponge. They’re simply looking to expand on the idea.

As far as spinoff options go, Robbins states they may be looking to “tell an original story about SpongeBob and Patrick, or maybe tell a Sandy Cheeks stand-alone story, or can Plankton have his own? I think the fans are clamoring for it.”

Nickelodeon celebrated 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 with a "Big Birthday Blowout!" panel for the happy-go-lucky fry cook who lives in a pineapple under the sea. In attendance were co-executive producers, Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli, as well as the principal voice cast: Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) and Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs).

“It was about time for the characters to meet themselves ... We had to keep them wet," said Waller of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout”, the animated/live-action star-studded special that aired on television July 12. In it, SpongeBob and Patrick travel onto the surface in an aquarium-like coach bus and meet their real-world counterparts at the Trusty Slab restaurant.

"The live-action stuff was a little more bizarre," Kenny said, explaining how you're so much more aware of your body movements as opposed to when you're just recording in a booth somewhere. Bumpass—who jokingly voiced his support for a live-action SpongeBob series to much applause from the audience—seconded those sentiments by singing the Twilight Zone theme song.

Combining animation with live-action elements was more in line with the two feature films based on the show. Longtime fans probably remember a time when the characters were represented by really low-budget puppets on sticks whenever they came up on dry land.

"It was so ghetto," offered Kenny, also describing the current trend of SpongeBob memes as "pop culture recycling."

The panel was even more poignant given the death of series creator, Stephen Hillenburg, in November of last year. The marine-biologist-turned-animator was 57-years-old when he succumbed to the effects of ALS, a neurodegenerative disease.

“SpongeBob, to me, represents Steve in a really profound way … It’s built on his spirit," said Fagerbakke, who didn't believe the pilot episode (for which he was paid $600) would go anywhere. Years later, however, he admitted his love for the Tiny Tim scene, where SpongeBob feeds the anchovies Krabby Patties.

"It embodies, to me, everything perfect about SpongeBob, that sequence," he added.

“It just reminds me of a time when SpongeBob only existed in Steve Hillenburg’s desk drawer," Kenny continued. "I just remember when he had me come over [and talked about pitching it to Nickelodeon and showed me the initial artwork] ... It turned into this thing that conquered the world. Talk about the power of ideas ... “About four seasons in, I was resigned to the fact that Tom Kenny was just SpongeBob’s host body.”

Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway were also fondly remembered by the cast. The McHale's Navy alums voiced Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy for many years and died within a few years of one another. Conway just passed away in May.

And, of course, Mr. Lawrence couldn't let the panel finish without the iconic exclamation from Fred the Fish, "MY LEG!!!"

Things really wrapped up with a "Sweet Victory" sing-along with dancing costumed characters in an attempt to make up for the fact that the iconic "Band Geeks" track was not sung at the 2019 Super Bowl.

The debut of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout” on Friday, July 12 kicked off "Best Year Ever", Nickelodeon's year-long global celebration commemorating 20 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created, which includes the launch of the official SpongeBob SquarePants YouTube channel, brand-new merchandise and a app, and will lead up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming 2020.

The cast of “SpongeBob SquarePants” paid tribute to the late Stephen Hillenburg during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.

“SpongeBob to me represents Steve in a really profound way,” said Bill Fagerbakke, who voices Patrick Star. “The nature of that character is what the whole show is built on and so it’s kind of built on his spirit in that way.”

Tom Kenny, who voices the titular talking sponge, added, “SpongeBob has conquered the world. He’s probably in almost every language on earth in every country on earth. He’s on every conceivable product you could put him on…It reminds me of a time where SpongeBob only existed in Steve Hillenburg’s desk drawer.”

“It was something he drew on a piece of paper from his own head that conquered the world,” Kenny added. “Talk about the power of ideas and art and silliness.”

Hillenburg, the creator of “SpongeBob,” passed away in November after battling ALS. After college, Hillenburg became a marine biology teacher at the Orange County Marine Institute (now the Ocean Institute). That, combined with his love of art, led him to write and illustrate stories as teaching tools with characters that would later become the denizens of SpongeBob’s home, Bikini Bottom.

“SpongeBob Squarepants” has gone on to become one of the most successful and well-recognized animated series of all time, reigning as the number-one kids’ animated series on TV for nearly two decades. The show was recently renewed for a thirteenth season at Nickelodeon following the success of the anniversary special “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout.”

Nickelodeon announced back in June that the series would get its first spinoff, currently titled “Kamp Koral.” The series will see SpongeBob and his friends as 10 year olds at summer camp. The series has received an initial 13 episode order.
