Red Tail Productions LLC and Charlie Blum Entertainment/CB Entertainment, in partnership with Nickelodeon, have announced new tour dates for Double Dare Live, a multi-city live stage tour inspired by the iconic TV game show Double Dare!

Coming off of a successful fall 2018 tour, Double Dare Live– featuring original host Marc Summers and his beloved sidekick Robin Russo – will resume touring on Tuesday, March 26 in Lancaster, PA and will tour North America this Spring, playing in 30 North American cities along the way!

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m. For a limited time, fans subscribed to the official DD Fan Club can purchase tickets right now, ensuring that they get the to the best seats in the house, using the club's exclusive early access pre-sale system. Inspired by the iconic TV game show Double Dare, Double Dare Live features two teams comprised of selected audience members competing to win prizes by answering brain-bending trivia questions, completing messy physical challenges, and ultimately facing the legendary obstacle course.

Attendees can register to be a contestant on Double Dare Live by completing the Official Rules and Waiver Form on doubledarelivetour.com. Participants must be 10 years or older to be eligible to be Contestants. Only persons 18 years or older can complete the Waiver Form; a parent or legal guardian 18 years or older must complete the Official Rules and Waiver Form for children under 18 years of age. When you’ve read, completed and signed the Waiver Form, hit ‘Submit’ and it will be entered into the database for each city. When you arrive at the venue, go to the Registration Table to verify that you’ve completed Official Rules and Waiver form, and present a valid photo ID and you and any family members that you registered will be given wrist bands which indicate to the show’s host that you are eligible to be a contestant on stage. Please wear athletic shoes if you hope to be called on stage.

Fans can also upgrade their tickets to the DD VIP Experience, featuring premium show seating, a pre-show meet & greet photo opportunity with Marc Summers and Robin Russo, and an official Double Dare Live tour laminate souvenir. There are a limited number of DD VIP Experience tickets which must be purchased in advance. They are designated as ‘VIP Tickets’ in each city’s ticketing system. Purchasers should plan to arrive at the theatre approximately 90 minutes in advance of the show start time. (Check for exact details when you purchase tickets, since timing changes slightly from city to city.) Each adult and child in a group must have a DD VIP Ticket. Go to the check-in table and pick up your DD VIP laminate. Patrons will be directed to the meet & greet which ends approximately 30 minutes prior to show start time. The highly anticipated return of the Double Dare series premiered in the summer of 2018 on Nickelodeon and ranked as the year’s No. 1 new kids show with kids 6-11, while retaining the core adult audience who grew up with the original television show. The new Double Dare is hosted by digital creator and actress Liza Koshy, with original host Marc Summers providing color commentary on the challenges and lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode. Double Dare premiered on Oct. 6, 1986 on Nickelodeon and ran from 1986-1993, making it the network’s longest running game show. Summers served as the show’s original host from 1986-1993. Shortly after its debut, Double Dare became one of the most popular original daily programs on cable television. The series went into syndication in 1988 and was later revived as Super Sloppy Double Dare in 1989. The show also ran on broadcast television as Family Double Dare in 1988, followed by new versions on Nickelodeon, including Double Dare 2000.

Double Dare’s Marc Summers Never Gets Tired of Hearing That He Made Your Childhood Awesome

When people see game show host and television producer Marc Summers outside of their TVs or childhood memories, he says he loves it when they come up to him, politely introduce themselves and tell him that they grew up watching him host Nickelodeon's messy kids' game show Double Dare.

"I get that every day and I love it," Summers says. "Because people grew up with it, the show had a huge influence on so many people and I find it amazing and fantastic."

Double Dare is more than 30 years old, and it's been part of the regular childhood TV diet of several generations of kids. Its multiple spinoffs, like the syndicated Super Sloppy Double Dare and Fox's prime-time version Family Double Dare and the reruns, aired long after the show's final episode. Last year, Nickelodeon brought the show back with Summers and YouTube comedy star turned TV host Liza Koshy for a whole new generation of kids and their parents who fondly remember rooting for contestants as they tried to find a flag in a giant pair of nostrils filled with neon green snot or run up the chocolate-covered slope to get to the bottom of the Sundae Slide.

The show has become such a big hit again that Nickelodeon launched a Double Dare Live tour just like the ones in the ’80s and ’90s. Summers and the game show's sets, props and obstacles are roaming all over the country to give kids and their parents a chance to win cash and prizes in their hometown. Summers' show will be in DFW on Saturday at The Theatre at Grand Prairie.

Summers says he's been trying to get Double Dare back on Nickelodeon for years. However, the tone of the network's non-animated shows shifted from rebellious kid fare like The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Clarissa Explains It All and You Can't Do That on Television to bubblegum pop comedies like iCarly, Big Time Rush and (cue shivers) Fred: The Show.

"I'd been trying to bring it back for 10 years and Nickelodeon wasn't budging on it," Summers says. "Then I saw they started thinking about picking up old shows like Blue's Clues and Clarissa and I just texted the management saying, 'Am I getting the next phone call?' And a few days later, I got an email saying, 'Give us a call.'"

Double Dare first appeared on TV schedules in 1986, starting a 10-year run that lasted long beyond its final episode in reruns. The show also helped bring the first big wave of watchers to Nickelodeon.

Summers, an Indiana native, had worked in Los Angeles as an actor, stand-up comedian and magician since the late 1970s before the network hired him to host the game show that pitted two teams of kids in a 30-minute game of trivia dares and messy physical challenges. Summers' smiling and sportive emcee style, splashy sport jackets and show-starting shouts of "On your mark, get set, go!" made him a perfect fit for the food-flinging game show that still bills itself as the messiest on television. Double Dare became one of the network's first certified hits right out of the starting gate.

"Back in the day when Nickelodeon was putting things together, they did a lot of research and found out that kids didn't have their own game show," Summers says. "They were living vicariously through their parents who were watching The Price is Right. So they decided that kids were already playing Truth or Dare on the playground back in the day and they added the mess and an obstacle course and it turned into what it turned into. Cable was in its infancy and Nick needed something to shout out big, 'Come and watch us!'"

Double Dare also made Summers an emcee TV star. He scored guest appearances across cable TV and the networks on other game shows, hosted his own talk shows and made guest appearances on late night talk shows.

His infamous appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno next to a notably cranky Burt Reynolds led to a series of verbal jabs about the late movie star's recent divorce and Summers' career before they poured mugs of water on each other and ended the bizarre segment with a pie fight and a hug.

The show's wild success prompted the first live tour to theaters where kids could get up on stage and make a mess for cash and prizes. However, the prizes they offered on the live tour weren't all that impressive, something Summers says he remarked on into his microphone at one of the live shows at which the sponsor was sitting in the audience.

"We would give away trips to Space Camp and on Fox, we were giving away cars and trips to Europe so I would say, 'If you get through obstacle No. 1, you get a box of Blow Pops and if you get through obstacle No. 2, we'll give you tickets to a movie.' And there was a sponsor that I can't name right now but it was a national sponsor who was in the audience and they didn't tell me," Summers says. "I said they would win a $10 gift certificate to this place and I looked down at the audience because I saw the Nickelodeon executives were there and I said, 'Come on, we can do better than this,' and they freaked out."

Summers says he's sure every contestant will be happy with the prizes on his current tour.

"Now we're giving away cash," he says. "People always like money."

The show also gave Summers a long-lasting television career in front of the camera as a host of shows like the long-running food documentary series Unwrapped on the Food Network and behind the camera as a producer on reality shows like Dinner: Impossible and Restaurant: Impossible. He also appears in an upcoming nature documentary series for the Discovery Channel. Summers says his son and daughter have also followed his footsteps into the TV business as a TV producer and editor, respectively.

"I'll be 68 in November, and I always feel like I've never worked a day in my life," Summers says. "I'll keep going and people seem to keep coming and I guess they'll tell me when it's time to stop."

Nickelodeon celebrated Double Dare's 30th anniversary in 2016 and brought Summers, announcer John Harvey and co-host and production assistant Robin Russo back together for a reunion special. Nickelodeon's new management started to commission reboots of some of the show's most memorable programs, like the sitcom Clarissa Explains It All starring Melissa Joan Hart and All That, which launched the TV comedy career of Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson, who is an executive producer of the kids' sketch show revival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A new Double Dare launched in 2018 that looks and sounds just like the original show, with a theme song that pumps out guitar riffs like a semi-auto confetti cannon and a loud, color-clashing set that the fashion conscious called "cool" in the '80s. Summers says the show reaches two audiences at once now with the lively Koshy as its new host for the YouTube generation and Summers as her co-host for the adults who grew up watching him.

"It was very smart because Liza has 15 or 20 million viewers through YouTube and there's a whole generation who don't know who she is but know who I am and vice versa," Summers says. "She's very open and sweet about taking direction, and very respectful. We’re actually really good friends. She comes to me for advice and it's worked out quite well. Not anybody can just walk in and do a game show even after being trained. It ain’t that easy, but she's incredibly bright and very funny and she picked it up in a nanosecond."

The live tour that was spawned by the show's most recent success picks both kids and adults in the crowd as contestants. Summers says each live show gives him an even more unique opportunity to see how Double Dare has grown over the last 33 years.

"When we raise the curtain and they see the set for the first time, we get a huge scream and people go crazy. And then we reveal the next curtain and the obstacle course comes out," Summers says. "The thing I love about it is even though we're only bringing 60 to 70 people up, everyone walks out feeling good and feeling participatory and involved. It's fascinating."

The tour also gives Summers a chance to meet fans who now span two generations of TV watchers, he says.

"A lot of times, there will be four grown-ups and I'll say, 'Where are the kids?' and they say, 'Oh heck, we left them at home,'" Summers says. "They all have stories about how we built an obstacle course in the living room and how Mom sent me to my room for a week. Everyone has a story and it's fascinating. I'm learning on this tour the impact of this show, and it's truly fascinating to me.

"People will say, 'Oh you probably don't want to hear this.' I do want to hear it. The fact that anybody remembers is great."

FRANK IERO SHOWS NO MERCY ON NICKELODEON’S ‘DOUBLE DARE LIVE’

He really went after the challenge.

Frank Iero appeared on Nickelodeon’s Double Dare Live to take part in a physical challenge involving quite a lot.

The challenge involved passing balloons on plungers, and Iero ended up beating two strangers.

Before the actual event started, he talked to host Marc Summers about the strange resemblance he has to one of his family members.

“Everybody used to say that you look just like my dad,” he said, adding that they’re both handsome.

Then, he faced off against his two opponents. He shared a video of his win on Instagram, and you can hear his two children cheering him on from the stands.

“Sometimes you have to wait 30 years but your dream finally comes true ….and you get to destroy two young strangers on a Double Dare physical challenge in front of a live studio audience. (while your kids cheer you on!),” he wrote in the caption.

Earlier this year, Pete Wentz made a guest appearance on Double Dare and really got slimed.

The game show originally aired from 1986 to 1993. It has been revived twice, once in 2000 and again last year with a second season airing this month.

Rowena Cordrey to join Viacom as VP, Head of Content, Legal and Compliance

Current ITN deputy head of compliance, Rowena Cordrey, is to join Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) as Vice President (VP), head of content, legal and compliance.


In this role, Cordrey will oversee the legal and regulatory compliance of Viacom’s content across Channel 5, Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central; including broadcast, online and marketing output across the UK, Northern and Eastern Europe.

Cordrey’s remit will primarily be across Channel 5, working with programme makers and the editorial team to represent the channel from a content legal perspective. She will be responsible for recommending strategy, policy, process and best practice in relation to regulatory and legal programme compliance. Cordrey will report into Marcus Lee, VP for General Counsel, VIMN, UK, Northern & Eastern Europe.

Cordrey joins Viacom from ITN where she provided pre and post broadcast/publication legal, compliance, reputational and ethical advice for programming across ITN and its clients including Channel 5, Channel 4 and ITV. Prior to this, she held roles as a lawyer in Channel 4’s Legal and Compliance team and a solicitor at BBC Litigation.

Lee said: “Rowena has extensive experience within broadcast media and a thorough understanding of the complexities surrounding the legal and compliance processes so we’re delighted to have her on board.

“She will play a key role on the team, helping Channel 5 in its mission to deliver insightful public interest programming, whilst ensuring compliance from a legal and regulatory standpoint.”

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE

Deliver brand-defining commercial events & experience plan with core tentpole, secondary & licensed events/tour properties which appeal to the whole family, have distinct USP’s, are cross-regional in the UK & Ireland, and have the potential to be rolled out in the UKNEE cluster.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Develop an Events & Experience strategy with the VP Marketing, Commercial & Events (in association with the VP CP UKNEE and LBE in NYC) to deliver on overall Commercial Events plan and revenue targets as well as helping to deliver on 360 brand strategies.

  • Proven leadership qualities and people managment skills within an event and team environment

JoJo Siwa Kicks Off ‘D.R.E.A.M.’ Tour (and Celebrates Her 16th Birthday) with Sold-Out Show

Glittering Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa has kicked off her first tour with a bang. On Sunday, May 19, 2019 — which was also Siwa’s 16th birthday — she opened D.R.E.A.M. The Tour with a sold-out live show in Phoenix, Arizona that drew nearly 5,000 to the city’s Microsoft Theater.


The kidfluencer, who has 9.7 million subscribers on YouTube and 8.3 million followers on Instagram, took to social media this morning to share her excitement.

“WOW! What a unreal night. ❤️ Opening night of D.R.E.A.M. The tour was a literal DREAM come true. I can’t explain how I feel after tonight, it’s so rewarding getting to do what I love in front of thousands of people! 🎉 To the 4800 tonight in Phoenix, AZ… thank you for a incredible night! And to the over 100 people on the D.R.E.AM. Nation CREW thank you for a incredible tour,” JoJo wrote.

She continued, “Everyone has worked so hard to help me make my dream happen, and it 100% did! 💛 To Everyone at Nickelodeon, AEG, My Dancers, My choreographer, My Friends, My family, I love you guys. She added, “Everyone has worked so hard to help me make my dream happen, and it 100% did!”

D.R.E.A.M. The Tour, presented by Party City and produced by Nickelodeon and AEG Presents, celebrates the release of Siwa’s first EP (also named D.R.E.A.M.). Over the next four months, she’ll visit more than 70 U.S. cities, concluding Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Grand Prairie, Texas. The tour was originally meant to visit only 22 cities, but following fan demand, Nickelodeon expanded it in December, and then again in April.

Siwa’s birthday special, JoJo’s D.R.E.A.M. Birthday, premiered on Nickelodeon USA on Saturday, May 18, 2019. During the special, she surprise-dropped a new music video for her song “Worldwide Party” on YouTube. JoJo’s D.R.E.A.M. Birthday is currently rolling out onto Nickelodeon channels worldwide.



Nickelodeon signed Siwa to a talent deal in 2017, following a licensing deal in 2016. Her D.R.E.A.M. EP and tour are both part of the entertainment giant’s plan to build up a stable of influencers and take them into ventures outside of television.

“These songs aren’t born out of a specific show, as iCarly or Victorious were,” Doug Cohn, Nickelodeon’s Senior Vice President (SVP) of music, said when D.R.E.A.M. dropped last November. “Rather they appear on all of our various platforms in a multitude of ways — both audio and visual. The landscape is changing, and Nickelodeon is changing with it.”

Ariana Grande’s Rendition Of A Classic ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ Song Is Surprisingly Heartfelt

Ariana Grande took to her Instagram on Sunday (May 19) to share a Sponge-Tastic video of herself taking it back to her Nickelodeon roots. The musician performed a short cover of "This Grill is Not A Home" -- a dramatic and heart-wrenching duet between SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs from the 2002 episode "Welcome to the Chum Bucket" -- showcasing her stunning vocals.

In the episode, Mr. Krabs lost SpongeBob to Plankton in a game of cards, so SpongeBob was forced to work at the Chum Bucket. During the episode, SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs sing the duet, which is actually a pretty emotional song that features lyrics like, “But this grill is not a home / This is not the stove I know / I would trade it all away / If you’d come back to stay.”

"This kitchen's not the same without you," the former Nickelodeon star (Victorious, Sam & Cat) belts at the top of her lungs. "It's just a greasy spoon," she continues to sing. Grande didn’t sing the whole thing start to finish in her Instagram video, but belted out some lyrics between bouts of laughter, showing that even when she’s goofing around, there’s no turning that voice off.

Her love for SpongeBob is well documented, and lately, she’s been putting her powerhouse vocals to use by singing some of the show’s iconic music. Last month, she was caught singing the “Krusty Krab Pizza” song.

It seems as though Grande is a huge SpongeBob music fan, as just last month, she was caught in a video singing the "Krusty Krab Pizza" song.

He lives in a pinneapple under the sea all while being absorbent, yellow and porous, and is now making his way to toy shelves in honor of his 20th anniversary on Nickelodeon. Spongebob Squarepants has emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon since first premiering on the network in July 1999 and has been the most-watched animated program for more than 17 consecutive years that has been seen in more than 208 countries and translated in more than 55 languages.

All thanks to Alpha Group US, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alpha—one of the leading animation and toy companies in China, fans of all ages can now bring home some awesome collectibles and toys from Spongebob CulturePants vinyl figures to Slimeez with Nickelodeon Slime to Exsqueeze Me Plush toys and much more.

“It’s been a brand that has been around for so long since it’s now in its 20th year,” said Kim Morris, who is the senior director of global marketing at Alpha Group. “It’s a powerhouse and pop culture brand, and it has an incredible following. “From the perspective of tapping into the brand, it was just a monumental time to push it from all angles and we could compliment it with new and exciting ways through our toy designs,” said Amrtiz Lay, who is the senior marketing manager for Alpha Group.

One of the exciting new products to hit shelves is the 8-inch Masterpiece Memes figures that bring to live fan-favorite show and movie moments that have become some of the most popular viral memes. Some of the figures that fans can buy are Mocking Spongebob, Imaginaaation Spongebob, Spongeegar and Surprised Patrick among others.

“The fans themselves have Spongebob in their lives every day through these memes,” explained Lay. “So it made it really easy for us to just pick and choose from the top used meme. There’s a built in audience and there’s a hunger for them. We’re super excited about the reception that they received.”


When Alpha Group got the license to make the toys, one of the things the toy company wanted to do was to get out of Bikini Bottom, the home of where Spongebob and all his nautical friends reside, and do something that hasn’t been done before.

“We have a multi-tier strategy in our product development,” said Morris. “We have one that’s very focused on kids and one that is very focused on the collectors and the fans, and in the social digital age it allows us to go after those fans.”

Also for the first time ever, Spongebob and the iconic green Nickelodeon slime come together in Alpha Group’s new Spongebob Slimeez figures.

“Through our Slimeez products, it’s the first time that Spongebob is partnered with official Nickelodeon slime,” said Lay. “It’s a great way to take it on the go. It comes in a blind bag so they don’t really know what they’re getting and there’s a play pattern that is all the hype right now. It’s a great assortment of all the key characters of the ‘Krusty’ crew.”


Lay also mentioned how the toy company’s plush character toys have been a popular item to buy including the Exsqueeze Me interactive plush that burps and farts that feature both Spongebob and Patrick. The company is also excited about the Giggle Blaster that is launching this fall.

“The Giggle Blaster has party string and you just insert any party string in there and when you pull the trigger it shoots the party string about 15 feet,” said Morris. “When you trigger it, it makes all these different sounds and phrases from Spongebob. So even when you run out of the string, you still have a lot of play value. It’s been really well received.”

This fall, Alpha Group is also putting out a large scale Spongebob plush that will have a 20th anniversary logo sewn onto his back. The commemorative plush will also tell jokes when you pull Spongebob’s tie.

“For both of those products [the Giggle Blaster and the Spongebob commemorative plush], we recorded with Tom Kenny, so they’re all fresh recordings and deliveries especially the Giggle Blaster,” said Lay.

Some of Lay’s favorite Spongebob products include the Masterpiece Memes and CulturePants figures.

“CulturePants are $9.99 vinyls that are on a smaller scale,” said Lay. “They’re super detailed and some of them are completely brand new and that’s cool because when you talk about why Alpha was excited to become the master toy license is because we had these liberties and this trust with Nickelodeon to explore these new designs. So if you look at our old-timey CulturePants [figures], these are never seen before and that’s really fun to see the development process. They super affordable to collect.”

Spongeheads also make Lay’s list of all-time favorite Spongebob products.

“They’re these inflatable heads of the characters,” said Lay. “They’re just funny, I don’t know what it is. They’re zany. I don’t know how to classify them, but kids will enjoy them and college kids can enjoy them. It’s great for Halloween too.”

“Another thing that I would add is that I think when we did the line, our designer on the brand who is a huge fan of Spongebob and knows every episode so intimately,” said Morris. “What’s important to know is that we have [something] for everyone in the line, so if you’re a kid and you just want basic Spongebob that’s fine, but if you’re somebody who really knows the show, you can buy these CulturePants [figures], you’ll get a particular episodic moment of that figure you love. There’s just a really nice broad array of options for someone who wants a basic character or one who really wants something more nostalgic. We’re really excited about it.”

Google Assistant Adds 'Rise of the TMNT' Alarms; To Add Nick Jr. Stories Soon

COWABUNGA! Google today announced a whole new set of smart-home features for the Google Assistant, the company's AI-powered voice helper!

Especially during the holiday season, sticking to family habits can be challenging, whether that’s picking up toys, making the bed or getting started with homework. To make these a bit more fun, Google today announced that they are adding the ability to set up an alarm from popular animated characters with the Google Assistant on smart speakers. These new alarms will have signature music, jokes, facts, words of encouragement and wisdom, and other fun messages from many popular characters from children's entertainment, including Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello and April O’Neil from Nickelodeon's brand-new TMNT series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to remind everyone it’s time to finish playing and get in the bath or to brush their teeth. To activate it, just say, “Hey Google, set a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle alarm for 8:00 PM” for example, and then pick your favorite TMNT character. Cowabunga! These alarms are available to enable in the US now. Additional alarms include characters LEGO City, LEGO Life, and LEGO Friends, with plans to add characters from Spin Master’s Hatchimals later this year.

Google has also announced that in the coming weeks, they will be adding 25 new family-friendly stories by Nickelodeon, including PAW Patrol’s “The Pups Save the Bunnies,” Dora the Explorer’s “Dora's Super Sleepover,” Blaze and Monster Machines’ “Let's Be Firefighters” and many more!

Update (11/29): Google Assistant has added brand-new holiday-themed Nick Jr. stories to celebrate the festive season, including Dora the Explorer’s "The Little Christmas Tree" and PAW Patrol’s "Holiday Helpers"!

Additionally, say “OK Google, call Santa,” and you’ll meet Santa in the middle of rehearsal for a concert at the North Pole!

St. Louis' Hi-Pointe Drive-In Acquires the Good Burger Hamburger Car

Update (4/9) - It's been revealed that the Hi-Pointe Drive-In in St. Louis, Missouri has purchased the iconic Good Burger mobile! The restaurant took to Facebook and Instagram to have loyal customers guess the name of the movie for a $50 gift card but it it unknown when and where the car will be on display.

Fans of Nickelodeon Movies' cult classic Good Burger film should look away now!


A fan of ’90s nostalgia contacted Jalopnik earlier this week to share a vague Facebook Marketplace ad for a 1975 AMC Pacer described simply as “Good Burger mobile from Nickelodeon's 1997 movie Good Burger” [sic] and yeah, there’s really no mistaking this particular Pacer despite the fact that it looks like it’s been sitting in an oceanside parking lot since the movie came out.


Released in 1997, Good Burger was based on a sketch from All That, Nickelodeon's Saturday Night Live for kids. In the movie, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell star as Dexter and Ed, who kids who work at a homely burger joint called Good Burger and end up in some kind of battle with a flashy new burger establishment across the road.


The movie also starred Sinbad, as well as the iconic AMC Pacer with a giant burger mounted on its hood, known as the (what else?) Burgermobile.


Sadly, the Burgermobile has seen better days. Although its hamburger is still (barely) intact, the pickle hubcaps are missing.


It's currently unknown whether this is the official Good Burger Mobile. And if so, is it screen used or made for promotional uses. The International Hamburger Hall of Fame and the Hamburger Museum say they have bought the car in a effort to save it from the scrap yard, however, movie companies sometimes make multiple versions of cars for use in production as well as for promotions.


The Burgermobile is for sale in Florida now for a cool $10,000 USD. Then Jalopnik replied to the ad and got a little background from Karl, who’s selling the car–apparently his dad “bought it off someone who I think won it in a contest after the movie release” approximately 12 years ago. As you can tell from the pictures, it hasn’t moved a whole lot since then.

Looks like a pretty gnarly restoration project, but then again, ’90s nostalgia is so strong right now that I bet somebody will step up to take this on. How hard can it be to find Pacer parts?

Sadly, its a fate far too common with classic movie cars. The iconic Ecto 1 from Ghostbusters was also left to rot, until it was restored to promote Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Famous Burger Mobile from 90s film 'Good Burger' could be spotted on St. Louis streets this August

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Welcome to Hi-Pointe Drive-In, home of smashed-thin burgers, Can I take your order?

The iconic drive-in is bringing a blast from the 90's past to the St. Louis area. The famous Burger Mobile featured in the 1997's Nickelodeon film Good Burger will soon have a new home, thanks to the Hi-Pointe Drive-In.

Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson and actor Kel Mitchell drove the 1975 AMC Pacer, which had a hamburger on its hood, to deliver the burgers in the movie.

Fast forward 22 years, the car is now covered in rust and has been purchased by the owners of the drive-in.

Mike Johnson, the owner of the drive-in, said the car was purchased for $6,000 and had to be towed to St. Louis from Daytona Beach. The car is currently undergoing around $20,000 worth of work.

“People these days want to have an Instagramable picture, so we'll keep it open and let people open it and sit in it to take pictures and stuff. Hopefully there will be less glass in the seats,” Johnson said.

The restaurant took to Facebook in early April to have loyal customers guess the name of the movie for a $50 gift card but it unknown when and where the car will be on display.

According to Johnson, the 'Burger Mobile' should be spotted on St. Louis-area streets in August.

Nickelodeon Portugal has announced the very exciting news that Nickelodeon will host Portugal's second "Nick Fest", Nickelodeon's hit family-centric festival at Quinta da Marialva Park in Seixal, Portugal!


Taking place over Friday 31st May 2019 and Saturday 1st June 2019, NickFest 2019 will welcome kids and families for an amazing two days full of music, entertainment and family fun for all ages!

NickFest 2019 will be hosted by Catarina Perez (Nick Chefs) Mafalda Creative, and will feature musical performances from headline acts Fernando Daniel, ÁTOA, Paulo Sousa and D.A.M.A.

In addition to musical performances, attendees can also look forward to many activities, including Nickelodeon Reporter casting, a slime pool, minigolf, traditional games, an arts workshop, a photo booth, and inflatables for all ages.

Fans can also meet and greet their favourite Nickelodeon characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, Marshall and Chase from PAW Patrol, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello!

Day one will feature smashing performances by Fernando Daniel, winner of the fourth season of The Voice Portugal, and Átoa, who will close the first day.


Day two will feature awesome performances by Paulo Sousa and D.A.M.A., the latter of whom will close two day Nickelodeon festival with a out-of-this-world performance.

The second edition of Nick Fest 2019 is the result from a partnership between Nickelodeon Portugal and the Seixal City Hall. Designed for the whole family, from kids to adults, this is a festival that brings together young Portuguese talent and fan-favourite characters all in one place, with a lot of activities and lots of entertainment planned. In the first edition in 2017, the festival counted on about 13,500 visitors, a number that is expected to be surpassed this year.

Viacom International Studios Greenlights Second Season of "Noobees"

Nickelodeon Latin America's Hit Gaming Series with Co-Production Partner MEDIAPRO Group


After the pan-regional success of hit gaming series Noobees, Viacom International Studios (VIS) announced that it has greenlit a second season (60 x 1 hr.) for Nickelodeon Latin America with co-production partner, Barcelona based multimedia communications group, Mediapro Group. The announcement was made by Tatiana Rodríguez, Senior Vice-president of Programming & Creative Strategy for Nickelodeon Latin America and Javier Méndez, Head of Content at Mediapro Group, at the National Association of Television Executives (NATPE) conference in Miami Beach, Florida.

The first season of the show, which premiered in September 2018, yielded more than 10.4 million pay-tv viewers in the region positioning itself in the #1 spot with girls ages 4-11 in Mexico, and performing +64% above the channel average with kids 4-11. Premieres of the show were seen by more than 3 million viewers in this market alone. In Colombia, the show ranked #2 with girls 7-14[i]. The show was also the #1 property on Nick Play based on video views. Noobees S1 will premiere on Nickelodeon Brazil on February 4th, in addition to several European markets.


With this success, VIS adds this new season of Noobees to the already impressive and growing roster of scripted series currently being distributed by the studio. Additionally, this latest installment positions Nickelodeon Latin America as one of the top novella creators for young audiences in the region.


"Noobees connected incredibly well with viewers in the region and created an amazing fan base for the show and its characters," commented Rodriguez. "To be able to extend this production with Mediapro gives us great satisfaction as there are many more stories to be told about the show's avatars, their secret gaming universe and the e-sports tournaments within the show."

Noobees S2 is written by Argentine screenwriter Marcela Citterio, whose hits include Nickelodeon's tween/teen favs Yo Soy Franky and Chica Vampiro. The series will be shot on-set and on-location at Mediapro's production facility, Televideo in Bogota, Colombia and will feature images from Mediapro's Professional Videogames League (LVP), the biggest e-sports league in Spain and host of major online and offline tournaments for games such as League of Legends& Call of Duty, among others.

Noobees S2 will be produced for Nickelodeon Latin America's Spanish and Portuguese-speaking audiences, and will be distributed internationally by VIMN Americas' Content Distribution team.

La serie de videojuegos de Nickelodeon Latinoamérica tendrá 60 nuevos episodios de una hora

Después del éxito de la primera temporada de la serie de videojuegos "N00bees", Viacom International Studios (VIS) ha anunciado una nueva tanda de 60 episodios de una hora para Nickelodeon Latinoamérica junto con su socio de producción, el Grupo MEDIAPRO. El anuncio ha sido realizado por Tatiana Rodríguez, Vicepresidenta Senior de Programación y Estrategia Creativa para Nickelodeon Latinoamérica, y Javier Méndez, Director de Contenidos de MEDIAPRO, en el marco de la conferencia realizada por la Asociación Nacional de Ejecutivos de Televisión (NATPE), en Miami Beach (Florida).

La primera temporada, que se estrenó en septiembre de 2018, alcanzó más de 10,4 millones de espectadores en la TV de pago en la región. Estos episodios se estrenarán en Nickelodeon Brasil el 4 de febrero, además de hacerlo en varios mercados europeos. VIS añade la nueva temporada de "N00bees" al destacado catálogo de series que actualmente distribuye. Red Tail Productions LLC and Charlie Blum Entertainment/CB Entertainment, in partnership with Nickelodeon, have announced new Fall/Winter 2019 tour dates for Double Dare Live, a multi-city live stage tour inspired by the iconic TV game show Double Dare!

Coming off of successful fall 2018 and Spring 2019 tours, Double Dare Live– featuring original host Marc Summers and his beloved sidekick Robin Russo – will resume touring on Tuesday, October 15 in Oakland, CA and will tour North America throughout Fall and Winter 2019, playing in 15 North American cities along the way!

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. Fans can visit doubledarelivetour.com for a list of upcoming Double Dare Live tour cities, times and ticket information.

Inspired by the iconic TV game show Double Dare, Double Dare Live features two teams comprised of selected audience members competing to win prizes by answering brain-bending trivia questions, completing messy physical challenges, and ultimately facing the legendary obstacle course.

Attendees can register to be a contestant on Double Dare Live by completing the Official Rules and Waiver Form on doubledarelivetour.com. Participants must be 10 years or older to be eligible to be Contestants. Only persons 18 years or older can complete the Waiver Form; a parent or legal guardian 18 years or older must complete the Official Rules and Waiver Form for children under 18 years of age. When you’ve read, completed and signed the Waiver Form, hit ‘Submit’ and it will be entered into the database for each city. When you arrive at the venue, go to the Registration Table to verify that you’ve completed Official Rules and Waiver form, and present a valid photo ID and you and any family members that you registered will be given wrist bands which indicate to the show’s host that you are eligible to be a contestant on stage. Please wear athletic shoes if you hope to be called on stage.

Fans can also upgrade their tickets to the DD VIP Experience, featuring premium show seating, a pre-show meet & greet photo opportunity with Marc Summers and Robin Russo, and an official Double Dare Live tour laminate souvenir. There are a limited number of DD VIP Experience tickets which must be purchased in advance. They are designated as ‘VIP Tickets’ in each city’s ticketing system. Purchasers should plan to arrive at the theatre approximately 90 minutes in advance of the show start time. (Check for exact details when you purchase tickets, since timing changes slightly from city to city.) Each adult and child in a group must have a DD VIP Ticket. Go to the check-in table and pick up your DD VIP laminate. Patrons will be directed to the meet & greet which ends approximately 30 minutes prior to show start time. Latecomers risk missing the opportunity.

The highly anticipated return of the Double Dare series premiered in the summer of 2018 on Nickelodeon and ranked as the year’s No. 1 new kids show with kids 6-11, while retaining the core adult audience who grew up with the original television show. The new Double Dare is hosted by digital creator and actress Liza Koshy, with original host Marc Summers providing color commentary on the challenges and lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode. Season two is currently airing on Nickelodeon.

Inspired by Nickelodeon's hit animated series of the same name, SpongeBob SquarePants explodes with energy and features an original pop and rock-infused score by a legendary roster of Grammy® Award-winning songwriters. The Broadway cast for SpongeBob SquarePants included Tony Award Nominee Ethan Slater as SpongeBob SquarePants, Tony Award Nominee Gavin Lee as Squidward Q. Tentacles, Lilli Cooper and Christina Sajous as Sandy Cheeks, Brian Ray Norris as Eugene Krabs, Danny Skinner as Patrick Star and Wesley Taylor as Sheldon Plankton.

The ensemble included Brandon Espinoza, Alex Gibson, Gaelen Gilliland, Juliane Godfrey, Jordan Grubb, Kyle Matthew Hamilton, Curtis Holbrook, Jesse JP Johnson, L'ogan J'ones, Jai'len Christine Li Josey, Kelvin Moon Loh, Lauralyn Mcclelland, Vasthy Mompoint, Oneika Phillips, Catherine Ricafort, JC Schuster, Allysa Shorte, Abby C. Smith, Robert Taylor Jr., Allan K. Washington, Brynn Williams, Matt Wood and Tom Kenny as the French Narrator.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Musical has a running time of 2 hours 30 minutes, and features two acts (ACT I: 1 hour 15 minutes; ACT II: 1 hour) and a 15 minute intermission.

It's currently unknown whether any of the original Broadway cast will be reprising their characters for the U.S. tour of the show. However, judging from the first promotional photo release, it'll feature a new ensemble cast. The cast will be announced at a later date.

The critically acclaimed SpongeBob SquarePants musical was named Best Musical by the Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle and earned 12 Tony Award nominations - the most nominated musical of the 2017-2018 theatre season - including nods for Best Musical, director Tina Landau, book writer Kyle Jarrow, title player Ethan Slater (in his Broadway debut), and the all-star roster of songwriters (including Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper, and John Legend) who contributed to the score. The production earned 12 Tony Award nominations including best musical, equaling Mean Girls for the most of any show this season, and while The Band's Visit swept the honors, SpongeBob did score a deserved win for Best Scenic Design of a Musical for David Zinn's scenic design. The show’s director, Tina Landau, earned a Tony Award nomination for her inventive and unconventional approach to the material that humanized the characters than creating literal representations of the familiar Nickelodeon cartoon.

Following a Chicago tryout during summer 2016, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical opened at Broadway's Palace Theatre during Fall 2017, where it ran for 327 regular performances and 29 previews, defying critical expectations by earning some of the warmest reviews of the season. The show closed in September 2018 to make way for refurbishments at the Palace Theatre.

While many expected a theme park-style brand extension, the show surprised theatergoers with its wild Dadaist comic sensibility, ingenious design and winning performances, notably from gifted 26-year-old newcomer Ethan Slater, making a terrific Broadway debut in the title role.

Early in 2019, school and youth group licensing rights will be available, with professional licensing to follow. A North American tour will begin fall 2019.

SpongeBob SquarePants first debuted on Nickelodeon USA on May 1, 1999 and is still going strong.

Since its launch in July 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants has emerged as a pop culture phenomenon. The series has been the most-watched animated program with kids 2-11 for more than 15 consecutive years, and over the past several years, it has averaged more than 100,000,000 total viewers every quarter across all Nickelodeon networks. SpongeBob SquarePants is the most widely distributed property in Viacom International Media Networks history, seen in more than 208 countries and territories and translated in 55+ languages. The character-driven cartoon chronicles the nautical and sometimes nonsensical adventures of SpongeBob, an incurably optimistic and earnest sea sponge, and his undersea friends in the fictional underwater city of Bikini Bottom. Among those friends are SpongeBob's best friend, a pink starfish named Patrick Star, his neighbor and co-worker octopus Squidward Tentacles, and Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel from Texas.

SpongeBob SquarePants is created by Stephen Hillenburg, who previously worked as a writer, director and creative director on Nickelodeon's animated series Rocko's Modern Life. Hillenburg graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a master's degree in experimental animation and his undergraduate degree, from Humboldt State University, was in natural science with an emphasis in marine biology. Hillenburg executive produced the series until his untimely passing in November 2018. His first feature film, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which debuted Nov. 19, 2004 and his second theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, hit theaters Feb. 6, 2015, landing at #1 opening weekend.

SpongeBob SquarePantshas been renewed through to at least the show's twelfth season, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019, has its own critically acclaimed Broadway show, set to tour the U.S. from Fall 2019, and has a third upcoming movie, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, set to be released in Summer 2020. Nickelodeon also recently revealed plans to spin off the characters from SpongeBob SquarePants into their own stand-alone series, specials and feature-length movies. The series is produced at Nickelodeon in Burbank.

“It’s a pretty big deal for us and for Wichita to be able to bring ‘Spongebob’ on the first national tour. It’s exciting,” Amy Hamm, executive director of The American Theatre Guild, told The Wichita Eagle. “We’re feeling confident this is a show that audiences are going to love.”

The characters don’t wear the exact costumes of their cartoon counterparts, she said, but enough for anyone who has seen the series to know who they are.

Rather than one composer, the music for “Spongebob” was written by various pop-rock performers, including David Bowie, Plain White T’s, Panic! at the Disco, Cyndi Lauper, Flaming Lips, John Legend, Aerosmith, They Might Be Giants and Bareilles.

“It’s kind of a neat twist in addition to being a big, bright, fun show with a ton of heart,” Hamm said. “I think it will be a surprise because it has some amazing messages about friendship and teamwork. It’s an important kind of show to have now, a good show with a good message.”

“I’m excited about the lineup of shows we’re announcing for the 2019-2020 season,” said Ty Sutton, President and CEO of Victoria Theatre Association. “The Premier Health Broadway Series features two Ohio premieres, hot new titles such as ‘The Spongebob Musical,’ ‘Summer: The Donna Summer,’ and ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,’ as well as beloved revivals like ‘Cats,’ ‘Once On This Island,’ and the ‘Rent 20th Anniversary Tour.’ Plus, we have several great shows booked as part of our Projects Unlimited Star Attractions, including ‘Black Violin,’ ‘The Color Purple,’ ‘The Midtown Men: Holiday Hits Tour,’ ‘We Shall Overcome: A Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,’ ‘Drum Tao 2020’ and more to be announced later.”
