2018 has been another big year for Nickelodeon, with many brand-new shows and specials. We also sadly said goodbye to some of our favorite Nick shows.

Using the eight poll gadgets below, vote for your favourite new Nickelodeon shows, movies, specials and events of 2018, and for which show you were most sad to say goodbye to this year.

A few notes:

- Although this poll is meant for Nickelodeon fans around the world, some of the nominees have only aired or have been held in the USA.

- Technically, Harvey Beaks ended in late-December 2017, so wasn't included in last years poll. So I thought that it's only fair to include it in this years poll.

Can’t get enough of Jace Norman and Ariel “Baby Ariel” Martin? Here’s an awesome sneak peek of Bixler High Private Eye. The brand new Nickelodeon Original TV Movie premieres Monday, January 21st only on Nickelodeon USA!



In Bixler High Private Eye, Jace plays Xander DeWitt, who has a knack for solving mysteries and finds himself tackling his biggest case when his father leaves for work one day and suddenly disappears without a trace. After hijinks and skipping school to find his dad, Xander’s mom sends him to live with his former private investigator grandfather in his dad’s hometown. He finds a surprising lead there and teams up with Kenzie Messina, played by Baby Ariel, an investigative reporter for the school newspaper. The TV movie marks Henry Danger star Norman’s first time as executive producer.

Nickelodeon USA to Host Interactive 'New Year’s Eve Loud House Party' Marathon on Monday, December 31

Nickelodeon USA will be ringing in 2019 with a celebration of top programming and an extra special “New Year’s Eve Loud House Party” — an interactive marathon of fan-favorite 2018 episodes of The Loud House! The party kicks off Monday, December 31 from 5-9 p.m. ET/PT and features augmented reality (AR) integration using Nickelodeon Screens Up app as part of the network’s ongoing efforts to bring interactivity and gamification to the linear TV experience.


During the programming event, the show’s main character Lincoln Loud will enlist the help of viewers for an important mission: help “collect” his extensive assortment of sisters and best friend Clyde (in the form of digital AR stickers) to make his New Year’s Eve party the best ever, culminating in a big celebratory dance. Viewers should keep their eyes peeled throughout the show for each collectible character to pop up in graphic overlays during the on-air marathon. When they spot one, they can “capture” it by pointing their phone’s camera at the TV screen, which will unlock special AR stickers; collecting the whole set of stickers will unlock even more bonus sticker options, including a special bonus sticker of the Loud House crowd dancing away.



Viewers can use the Nickelodeon SCREENS UP app to collect the stickers and unlock bonus elements. The Loud House fans tuning in can also participate in live votes, meme makers, trivia and polls with real-time results tallied on-air using the app, or online at loudhouseplay.com.

SCREENS UP is available for download via the Apple App Store and Google Play.


The event is part of the network's plan to bring more interactivity and gamification into linear television to drive live viewership. Nick is also currently in production on an original virtual and augmented reality series that will be its first show made with virtual camera technology, dubbed Meet the Voxels. And the channel launched a series of new AR apps at its most recent upfront earlier this year.

Nickelodeon will also be running a PAW Patrol marathon on December 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET/PT, while TeenNick airs “Watch-A-Thons” of movies and specials from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and NickToons runs marathons of The Adventures of Kid Danger and Fairly OddParents from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET/PT.

New Year’s Eve highlights across Nickelodeon channels also includes a PAW Patrol marathon from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET/PT — including the premiere of “Pups Save a Pluck-O-Matic / Pups Save a Mascot” at noon on Nickelodeon; “Watch-A-Thons” of movies and specials on TeenNick from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT; marathons of The Adventures of Kid Danger and The Fairly OddParents from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on NickToons; and the premiere of brand-new preschool series Abby Hatcher on Nickelodeon on January 1 at 10 a.m. ET/PT.

Nickelodeon USA Debuts TeenNick Rebrand

Nickelodeon USA today kicked off the New Year by launching a all-new on-air brand refresh for TeenNick, Nick's network exclusively for and about teens and tweens!


TeenNick launched its new on-air branding this morning, Tuesday, January 1st, 2019, at 6:00 a.m. ET/PT, and marks the channel's first major rebrand since Summer 2015.

Nearly all of TeenNick's on-air aesthetics have been updated during the refresh: the v-chip rating, the on-air bug/dog (which now features three colors for the "Teen" part of the logo that change after each commercial), the "up next" lower third (which has now moved to a block in the top right of the screen), the re-typed end credits have had a font and text color update, and most notably are the new show-specific bumpers - something that the channel has not used in a long time. There are at least two bumper card styles for each show.

Josh Peck and Wife Paige O’Brien Welcome Baby Son, Max Milo Peck

A huge congratulations to Josh Peck and his wife, Paige O’Brien who have just welcomed a baby together!


The 32-year-old former The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh star and his wife welcomed their first child together, son Max Milo, on Saturday, Dec. 29 in Los Angeles, California.

On Monday, December 31, 2018, Josh and Paige both shared sweet images of their newborn son to Instagram. The first, posted by both parents, featured Max sleeping in his hospital blanket and hat.

Meanwhile, the second photo, posted by proud mama Paige, captured their baby boy staring up at the camera, swaddled in a brown blanket with a white hat and white pacifier.

The couple first announced over the summer in Instagram posts that they were expecting their first child together.

“Oh baby. Literally, there’s a baby in there. Love u @paigeobrienn,” Josh captioned a photo of himself and Paige, where the latter’s baby bump is visible under a pretty polka-dot dress.

One Peck fan who more happy about the baby news than anyone else was Peck's former Drake & Josh co-star Drake Bell.

"It was hard keeping this one in!!" Bell wrote on Instagram in August. "I could NOT be happier for these two! Congratulations to @shuapeck and @paigeobrienn!!! Ima be an Uncle!!! I love you two so much and am so excited!!!! Also cutest pic EVER!!"

The first-time father tied the knot with Paige, his longtime girlfriend, in June 2017 during a sweet ceremony held in Malibu, California.

They were joined by friends, family and a few celebrity guests — including close pal John Stamos, who costarred with Josh on the 2015 Fox sitcom Grandfathered.

Josh’s engagement first made news in March 2016, with Paige sharing a smiling photo of the two (and her massive cushion-cut engagement ring with a diamond halo). She’d share another adorable pic of the two that June — this time thanking Josh for the ring in the caption.

In May 2017, Paige celebrated her then-upcoming nuptials, writing, “Thank you to my friends and family for the cutest bridal shower a girl could ask for.”

After announcing that she was pregnant this past summer, Paige showed off her humor by saying, “Hey guys, if I do that fun thing that pregnant women like to do and ask if I should chop my hair off or get bangs, please say no. Thank you in advance 😘.”

Peck opened up to ET last year about his former Grandfathered co-star John Stamos being his father icon.

"Stamos is already crushing fatherhood. No joke," Peck raved of the actor, who is dad to young son Billy.

"Can you imagine John Stamos changing a diaper? I mean, that baby is lucky. But his son, Billy, is gorgeous and if I can get anything quite like that, I'll be overpaid."

"He's done this incredible, beautiful transition into being a dad," he continued.

"And I know that he wanted to have a kid for so long. So to watch him sort of flourish in that way has been a joy."

Peck added that Stamos could be in the running for his baby's godfather.

"Maybe, you never know. Stamos as a godfather? Not bad. I'd want him looking out for my kid for the rest of his life," Peck said.

Nickelodeon Brazil to Launch 'Slime é Nick Experience' Shopping Centre Activation

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has partnered with Brazilian shopping centre chain Iguatemi to launch a brand-new and unique retail activation inspired by Nickelodeon's iconic slime!


Designed by creative agency Outra Praia, the space, entitled "Slime é Nick Experience", features a circuit divided into five slime-themed zones - the ‘Elásticos Slime’ obstacle course, ‘LED Slime’, ‘Piscina de Slime’ ('Slime Pool'), ‘Slime Lab’ e ‘Piscina de Bolinhas’ - each providing children of all ages lots of fun and interactive activities. Kids are also invited to make their very own slime in a unique and playful way, and take their photos at the bespoke Cachoeira de Slime (Slime Waterfall), located nearby outside the circuit.

The "Slime é Nick Experience" will make its debut at the Iguatemi Florianópolis shopping centre on Friday 11th January 2019, where kids can take part in the slime-themed activities weekdays between 2pm-8pm and Saturdays between 12pm-8pm. The "Slime é Nick Experience" is free to attend and take part in, and will be visiting Iguatemi Florianópolis until Sunday 3rd February 2019.

Nickelodeon South East Asia Acquires Rights to 'Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty'

Nickelodeon South East Asia has acquired the rights to the brand-new animated series Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty, and will premiere the series as part of the channel's 2019 programming highlights!


Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty is animated comedic adventure about a spirited and adorable kitty named Felicity who acquires magical powers. Part Rainbow, part Butterfly, part Unicorn and 100% Kitty, Felicity goes on amazing adventures with her friends, including her best friend Miguel the Chihuahua, across a magical mashup world!

Each episode explores female empowerment and non-conformity when Felicity’s magical abilities allow her to transform with the powers imbued by her mythical makeup—she can shoot glowsticks from her paws and lasers from her unicorn horn. Athena, a book-smart owl, and Betti the Yetti round out the quirky cast of characters.

Targeted towards kids aged six to 11, this fun 2D-animated show features photo-real elements, and is filled with adventure and heart, bringing viewers a celebration of individuality and self-confidence.


Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty is produced by Saban Brands with animation by Vancouver, Canada-based Bardel Entertainment. California’s Funrise Inc. has been tapped at the property's global master toy partner and co-production partner. Funrise’s toy line will cover a number of categories including figures, playsets, plush and dress-up.

“It’s different. It’s definitely out there,” Fred Soulié, Saban Brands EVP of global distribution and consumer products, told Kidscreen. “It’s also really cute and so funny. The humor comes from the relationship between Felicity and Miguel; they’re the comedic duo.”

With balance achieved between the colorful and fantastical through Felicity and the more down-to-earth and active Miguel, Soulié expects the series to perform equally well with boys and girls.

Saban is currently in talks with a global linear kids broadcaster, with plans to launch the show in Spring 2019. An international rollout for the series will follow shortly thereafter. Soulié says Italian prodco Rainbow (Club 57, Winx Club, 44 Cats, Regal Academy, Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends), which acquired Bardel in 2015, is on-board as a co-producer and will represent the property in Italy, along with a number of additional European territories.

Meanwhile, Saban has tapped California’s Funrise Toy as a global master toy partner and co-production partner. Saban is also on the hunt for additional licensees for apparel, accessories, interactive and health and beauty categories. Like the show, the CP program will target boys and girls ages six to 11.

According to Soulié, the program will reflect the personalities of each character, as well as different versions of Felicity. She transforms with the powers of her rainbow, butterfly and unicorn features, and various consumer products will represent each of these aspects of her magical abilities.



“She transforms on the show, and that will translate to the products,” Soulié says. “You’ll see different versions of the kitty in the line [depending on which of her powers are being represented], and that provides different options for kids to identify with and interact with her and the other characters.”

Nickelodeon's new animated preschool series, Butterbean’s Café

Preschoolers will be whisked away on magical culinary adventures in Nickelodeon’s brand-new CG-animated series, Butterbean’s Café, premiering Monday 4th February 2019 at 07:35 Uhr on Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) and at 07:45 Uhr on Nickelodeon Austria (Österreich) and Nickelodeon Switzerland (Schweiz)! Following launch, new episodes of Butterbean’s Café will air regularly weekdays at 07:35 Uhr on Nick Deutschland and at 07:45 Uhr on Nick Österreich and Nick Schweiz.

Butterbean’s Café will also premiere on Nick Jr. Deutschland on Monday 4th February 2019 at 03:00 Uhr, and will regularly throughout the week.

Created by Robert Scull and Jonny Belt (Bubble Guppies), Butterbean’s Café, the series (40 episodes) centers on a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running her neighborhood café and bakery, and showcases creative cooking and features a curriculum with social-emotional lessons that highlight kindness and gratitude, and leadership skills.

In the series, Butterbean, her fairy friends--Dazzle, Poppy and Jasper --and her little sister Cricket take pride in serving up healthy snacks and sweet treats to the residents in their community of Puddlebrook. Butterbean’s special magic beans, the fairies’ enchanted kitchen tools and the team’s can-do spirit all combine to make their cafe the most awesome eatery in town.



In Butterbean’s Café’s series premiere, “The Grand Opening!,” Butterbean and her friends work together to make the opening of the café a success, while competing café owner Ms. Marmalady (voiced by Alysia Reiner of Orange Is the New Black) attempts to throw them off track.
