Nickelodeon USA Acquires Rights to Australian Drama 'The Bureau of Magical Things'

Nickelodeon USA has acquired the rights to The Bureau of Magical Things, a magical brand-new tween drama series from the makers of the global smash hits H2O - Just Add Water and Mako Mermaids!

Update (10/8): To celebrate the launch of The Bureau of Magical Things, Nickelodeon USA has digitally premiered the first three episodes of the brand-new series - "Magical Mishap", "Magic in the Air" and "All the World's a Stage" on nick.com!

Update (10/4): Nickelodeon USA will start to premiere The Bureau of Magical Things on Monday 8th October 2018 at 8:30pm ET/PT; 7:30pm C! Following launch, Nick will continue to premiere new episodes of The Bureau of Magical Things Mondays-Thursdays at 7:30pm ET/PT; 6:30pm C!


Be charmed by the fascinating world of The Bureau of Magical Things! This extraordinary original series follows the adventures of teenage girl Kyra who is magically transformed into a Tri-ling when caught in a clash between an elf and a fairy. Now being part human, part fairy and part elf, her new friends Lily (a fairy) and Imogen (an elf) introduce her to their secret world and take her to a magic school headed by Professor Maxwell. Here Kyra learns how to control her newfound magical powers and begins to lead a double life. When Kyra develops powerful unpredictable magic, and the source of her power is revealed, she becomes a valuable weapon and an unexpected threat emerges. These young guardians, humans, fairies and elves must unite to save both their worlds.

The news follows Nickelodeon Russia also recently announcing plans to debut The Bureau of Magical Things as part of the channels Autumn/Winter 2018 programming highlights! It's currently unknown whether Nick has the global rights to the series, or just the broadcast rights for the US and Russia.


Meet the characters:

Kyra (Kimie Tsukakoshi): Kyra is a smart, confident teenager who lives with her stepfather in River City. The star member of the Dragonflies basketball team is a competitive player who never gives up. Losing her mother Michiko has made Kyra independent, self-reliant, opinionated and stubborn. She is very much her own woman – no one tells her what to do! Due to a magical accident, Kyra becomes a Tri-ling –part human, part fairy and part elf. She exhibits powers of both kinds of beings, and more mysterious powers develop as time goes on.

Lily (Mia Milnes): Lily is a quintessential storybook fairy. She's sweet, fun and charming even when she's telling you off. She wears her heart on her sleeve. Subtle emotions are foreign to her and she can switch from panic to calm to tears in a flash. Lily always tries to see the positive side of things. She also tries to see the good in elves, even though she thinks they are blunt and crude. Lily and fairy Ruksy are good friends. Though they are quite different – Lily is all heart while Ruksy is all head – they balance each other out, and drive each other nuts.

Imogen (Elizabeth Cullen): Imogen is an elf. She's headstrong, spiky, calculating and career-driven. Imogen's ambition comes from a need to prove herself to her well-to-do parents, wanting to make them proud. Imogen has a low opinion of fairies, seeing them as all talk and no action. She'd rather act than speak. The sister of Darra, Imogen is sometimes frustrated by her brother's laid-back attitude.

Darra (Julian Cullen): Darra is a hipster elf – handsome, cool and charming. Darra knows he's attractive and acts on it. Though he's a rogue, he's disarmingly honest about who he is and what he wants. Darra comes from a privileged background. He has never had to work hard but he hates how people don't take him seriously because of his upbringing. Darra wants to prove himself within the magical world and move out from under his father's shadow. Darra is Imogen's brother. They enjoy verbally sparring like all siblings.

Ruksy (Rainbow Wedell): Ruksy is a fairy. She's loyal, rational, orderly and smart. She doesn't trust emotion and is happy to leave the mushy stuff to her friend Lily. Ruksy loves to learn, which makes her popular with Professor Maxwell. She likes to show off her knowledge and Imogen and Darra call her the 'teacher's pet'. Ruksy finds comfort in her wealth of knowledge and always being prepared. She finds it difficult to improvize and is a terrible liar.

Peter (Jamie Carter): Peter has been Kyra's classmate since primary school. He's a smart, curious comic book nerd who's intrigued by science fiction, conspiracy theories and the mysteries of the universe. Peter is a thinker rather than a doer. Instead of breaking a door down, he'll persuade someone to open it for him. Peter has a highly developed sense of humor and can't help seeing the funny side, even when the situation is serious.

Professor Maxwell (Christopher Sommers): Maxwell is a Halfling – half elf and half human. The professor of the local Magic School, Maxwell engages his students with his wit and his cheeky, dry sense of humor. Maxwell also runs a bookshop in the human world and this is his haven. He loves books and has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things magic.

Orla (Melanie Zanetti): Orla is an elf. She's bright, tough and charming with an unshakeable belief in her own cleverness. Orla works as an agent for the Department of Magical Intervention (DMI), which is responsible for containing magical outbreaks that might reveal magic to humans. In the human world, Orla is a news reporter. Here she diverts suspicion from magical outbreaks by casting doubt and ridicule upon them.

Sean (Nicholas Bell): Sean is a fairy and Lily's father, a dedicated family man. He is also the Director of the DMI and works hard to uphold the rules of the magical world. Sean believes that integration with humans is the key to the survival of the magical world and is diligent to make himself and his family appear like normal humans.


The show also features Steve Nation as Steve.


To celebrate the launch of the networks brand-new show, Nickelodeon has launched their official The Bureau of Magical Things show page on nick.com, which currently features information about the all-new series and a magical sneak-peek from the series premiere episode, "Magical Mishap"! In the series premiere, when ordinary teenage girl Kyra is caught in a magical tug of war between Imogen, a mischievous elf, and Lily, a conscientious fairy, she discovers an extraordinary world of magic that exists in secret all around and her life changes forever!



The Bureau of Magical Things (20 x 30') is created and executive produced by Jonathan M. Shiff via his Jonathan M. Shiff Productions Pty. Ltd production company. The series is a ZDF/ZDF Enterprises and Network Ten Pty. Ltd. co-production.

The show was filmed in Queensland in 2017, and features a Queensland cast, led by Brisbane actress Kimie Tsukakoshi (The Family Law). She is joined by siblings Elizabeth Cullen and Julian Cullen, who grew up in Cairns before moving to the Gold Coast, along with Gold Coast actors Mia Milnes, Rainbow Wedell and Jamie Carter.

Executive Producer Shiff seems to have the golden touch in picking future stars. His productions could be said to have helped launch the careers of Liam Hemsworth (Ghostbusters: Answer The Call) and Margot Robbie (The Elephant Princess), while H20 stars Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt moved on to US series The Vampire Diaries and its sequel The Originals; their co-star Luke Mitchell to Blindspot and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Bureau of Magical Things is supported with investment from Screen Australia and Screen Queensland. It was presold to Network Ten Australia, where it made its world debut on Eleven in July 2018, and ZDF Germany, and distributed worldwide by ZDF Enterprises. The series is supported by the Gold Coast City Council Film Attraction Program and was developed with support from Film Victoria.

Nickelodeon May Debut 'Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling' and 'Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus' on Streaming Services

Nickelodeon's upcoming Rocko's Modern Life TV movie "Static Cling", based on the networks classic ‘90s hit series, could be premiering soon - however, it may be debuting off-network!

Update (10/8): Craig Bartlett, the creator of Nickelodeon's iconic '90s animated series Hey Arnold!, has revealed that Nickelodeon may be planning to release both Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling and Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus on streaming services! In his interview with The Arun Mehta Show to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Hey Arnold!, Craig reveals that one of the reasons Nick may debut both movies on streaming services is because, once Nick commissioned the films, they have been finding it hard to make a must-see event from these properties for today's Nickelodeon audience.

Update (9/19): The tweet has now been deleted. However, in a separate tweet, Nico mentions that the special could still air on Nickelodeon and Netflix! Stay 'tooned for more updates!


Animator Nico Colaleo revealed in a Tweet today, the 25th anniversary of the iconic Nicktoons series, that Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, an hour-long TV special that will reunite the original voice cast members who will bring their iconic characters back to life, is slated to premiere soon. However, Nico also revealed that it'll make its debut on SVOD service Netflix!





Although surprising, if Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling is set to premiere on the streamer, it does falls in line with Viacom's initiate to identify intellectual property within it vaults that could be an ideal fit for a digital or linear programmer outside of Viacom. The initiative has also seen two deals with Netflix: for the brand-new animated series, Pinky Malinky, and the hot-of-the-press live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which was announced earlier today.


Originally airing from 1993-1996, the animated series Rocko’s Modern Life follows the adventures of an Australian wallaby named Rocko and his two companions, Heffer and Filburt, through their adventures in their home of O-Town. Just like the original ‘90s series, "Static Cling" is hand-drawn special that stars Rocko, a wallaby who emigrated from Australia to the United States and enjoys the simple things in life; Heffer, Rocko’s best friend; Filburt, Rocko’s other best friend; and Ed Bighead and Bev Bighead, Rocko’s neighbors; as well as the other colorful characters.

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling brings the beloved characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko wholeheartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.


The voice actors reprising their famed roles include: Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParents) as Rocko, Spunky, and Leon; Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Heffer Wolfe, Chuck, and Really Really Big Man; Mr. Lawrence (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Filburt Turtle and Maitre D’; Charlie Adler (Blaze and the Monster Machines) as Ed Bighead, Bev Bighead, Mr. Dupette, Grandpa Wolfe, and Mrs. Fathead; Linda Wallem (Nurse Jackie, executive producer) as Aunt Gretchen and Dr. Hutchinson; Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Nosey and Joe Murray as Ralph. Additionally, Steve Little (Adventure Time) joins the cast as Cowboy and Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, director) as Pillow Salesman.

Monday 15th October 2018 at 7:30pm - A Knight to Remember: A dangerous suit of armour escapes from the Museum of Magic and, against Imogen’s wishes, Kyra joins the hunt. Kyra is able to stop the rampage, but when a news reporter claims the armour was a publicity stunt, Peter suspects a cover-up. (#105)

Tuesday 16th October 2018 at 7:30pm - The Test: While under the scrutiny of crack DMI Agent Orla, Kyra’s class are tested on their ability to handle magical outbreaks. When Orla releases a magical force that endangers Peter, Kyra must choose between the two worlds she now inhabits. (#106)

Wednesday 17th October 2018 at 7:30pm - Fairy For A Day: Kyra is confused about her place in the magical world so Lily transforms her into a fairy. Monday 29th October 2018 at 7:30pm - Forces of Attraction: A friendly game of basketball causes Kyra’s and Darra’s attraction to grow while in the Restricted Section of the Library, Ruksy, Imogen and Lily are trying to learn about Kyra’s power and discover that Maxwell has been lying to Kyra. Tuesday 30th October 2018 at 7:30pm - The Eye Of Horus: Maxwell reveals that Kyra’s power came from the Orb which was hidden in the book that made her magical. While attending a magical outbreak with Orla, an ancient artefact endangers Darra, and Kyra realises her new power is his only hope. (#114)

Upcoming Episodes

Judgement Day: Sean’s distrust of Kyra results in a lunch invitation, during which Kyra must be on her best behaviour. At the bookshop, Peter and Ruksy negotiate their relationship while trying to deal with an object that has escaped from the Library. (#115)

Prize Day: Realising a special award is an attempt to secure her loyalty, Kyra argues with Sean, which makes her get home late and Steve think she doesn’t want to go camping with him. Kyra is at a loss until Lily and Ruksy come to her rescue. (#116)

Accused: When Kyra learns that her Orb magic can be removed, but she will lose all memory of magic, she gets Peter to make a film to remind her. But before Kyra’s magic can be removed, the Orb is stolen – and Imogen appears to be the culprit. (#117)

Chilean Entertainer Carolina Mestrovic Cast in New Nickelodeon Show [Updated]

Chilean singer, actor and TV host Carolina Mestrovic has been cast in a brand-new Nickelodeon show!


Mestrovic rose to fame when she appeared on television in 2008 in the Chilean program Rojo fama contrafama (Red, the Value of Talent), where she won in the Singers category and received a car as her reward. She subsequently joined Chilevisión's youth program Yingo, which also showcased her singing talent. In 2010 she competed on Yingo and won second place, collecting a CL$1,000,000 prize. In December 2010 she participated in Yingo′s "great challenge" as a couple with Jaime Artus.

Mestrovic has since worked on many various programmes on the Chilean television network, where she is currently the host of Sabingo.

However, the 27-year-old all-round star will be travelling with her daughter Julieta to Miami, Florida in the USA in October 2018 to shoot a brand-new Nickelodeon series at Viacom International Studios!

Mestrovic went through several audition processes, competing with talents from around the world, before landing the role.

No further information about Mestrovic's latest project or her character has been revealed, however, filming for the production is expected to be completed in February 2019.

Although the name of new Nickelodeon show that Mestrovic will be starring in and her role have yet to be revealed, it is thought that it may be Club 57 for Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica).

Club 57 is a brand-new time-travelling themed series that tells the story of a 14-year-old tech loving girl who accidentally travels back in time. Stuck in the past, she discovers her passion for music, and falls in love. The first season of Club 57 will feature 75 60 one-hour episodes. Nickelodeon is producing the series with Rainbow Group (Winx Club, Regal Academy, 44 Cats, Mia and me, Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends).

However, Mestrovic's new project doesn't mean that the entertainer will be leaving CHV. The station has granted her a special permit to be absent while she is recording her new show in the United States last. When filming has commenced, she'll be able to resume hosting duties on Yingo.

La información fue confirmada la tarde de este lunes 10 de septiembre por Publimetro, donde consignaron que la joven comunicadora vivirá unos meses en la ciudad de Miami.

No obstante, Mestrovic no dejará sus funciones en el canal pripiedad de Turner, donde actualmente conduce el programa Sabingo, ya que recibió un permiso especial para ausentarse a trabajar mientras dure la producción en Norteamérica.

Según se detalló, esta nueva serie se grabará entre el próximo mes de octubre y febrero de 2019.

En 2008, la carrera televisiva de Carolina se inició en TVN en el espacio de talentos Rojo, en el cual se proclamó como ganadora.

Luego se trasladó a Chilevisión para ser parte del programa vespertino Yingo, donde fue parte del elenco estable y se inició en la animación.

Otro hito importante en su carrera fue encabezar las entrevistas del backstage del Festival de Viña del Mar entre 2013 y 2018, años en que CHV era el canal oficial.

Según confirmó Publimetro, la conductora de "Sabingo" fue convocada por la señal infantil para participar de una nueva serie que se rodará en Miami hasta febrero de 2019, razón por la que se trasladará a vivir allá junto a su pequeña hija Julieta (fruto de su relación con Mario Velasco), quien incluso ya tendría un colegio esperándola.

Este no será el primer trabajo como actriz de Mestrovic, pues en el pasado fue parte de cuatro producciones de la señal propiedad de Time Warner: "Amor virtual", "Don Diablo", Gordis" y "Graduados".

Cabe mencionar que su incorporación a Nickelodeon no significa que vaya a decir adiós definitivo a CHV, pues el canal le otorgó un permiso especial para que pueda ausentarse de sus funciones en Chile mientras dure su trabajo en EE.UU. Y es que no tiene plan alguno de dejar una casa televisiva que, aseguró hace unos días a Nueva Mujer, "tengo en el corazón".

El vínculo emocional entre la también cantante y CHV no sorprende, pues la estación lleva años apostando sus fichas en ella. De hecho, de 2013 a 2018 fue la conductora oficial de los "backstage" del Festival de Viña del Mar, y en más de una ocasión los ejecutivos quisieron potenciarla desde diferentes proyectos.

Mientras la ex "Yingo" esté fuera, Daniela Urrizola será su reemplazante en "Sabingo", tal como ha ocurrido en algunos capítulos de estas últimas semanas, pues "Carola" ha estado yendo y viniendo desde Miami a Santiago para ver los detalles de su próximo arribo.

“Estoy muy feliz por ella, conocí el proceso que hizo, sin saber ella para qué era finalmente. Fue muy circunstancial todo, no esperado. Cuando supe que esto no era para una cosa pequeña, si no que para Nickelodeon y Miami, me puse muy contento por ella”, dijo su partner.

“Es una tremenda oportunidad que no podía dejar pasar. Ella estuvo compitiendo con talentos de todo el mundo y es maravilloso que haya quedado dentro de varios casting que hizo”, agregó el buen compañero. César dice, entre risas, que si su colega necesita un asesor “que me lleve a mí”.

Cuenta también que esta semana ha sido de locos para su “amigui”, ya que “está tratando de grabar todo antes de que se vaya”. De hecho, por esa razón, fue imposible para La Cuarta comunicarse con ella durante todo el día.

La animadora de CHV conversó con Publimetro respecto a su arribo al canal infantil, donde protagonizará una serie.

“Es una oportunidad muy bonita, así que estoy feliz”, cuenta emocionada Carolina Mestrovic a Publimetro, acerca del salto a la televisión internacional que se apronta a dar. Y es que la animadora de Chilevisión se sumará, a partir del próximo mes, a las filas de la cadena infantil Nickelodeon para ser parte de una nueva serie.

“Fue algo inesperado. No estaba dentro de mis planes, no lo estaba buscando, pero las cosas se dieron y ya está todo listo para partir”, explica la joven, quien revela que la “oferta” laboral le llegó a través de redes sociales.

“Ellos me contactaron a través de una agencia de representantes en Italia, me contactaron vía Instagram. Lo que pasa es que hace años había mandado algunos videos y cosas…, fue en la época que salí de ‘Rojo’. Pero desde ahí no había tenido más contacto y con tanto trabajo me fui olvidando del tema hasta que hace cinco meses me volvieron a escribir para hablarme de este proyecto y todo se dio muy rápido”, explica.

Aunque la conductora de “Sabingo” afirma que no puede contar mucho respecto a la serie y el papel que le tocará interpretar, si adelanta que es una producción juvenil “que incluye actuación, baile y canto”; muy al estilo de éxitos de Disney Channel como “Violetta” o “Soy Luna”.

“Ojalá salga todo bonito. Por suerte he tenido todo el apoyo de mi familia y de mi pareja, así que nos vamos a trasladar todos juntos a Miami”, comenta, y destaca que “eso para mí ha sido importante porque ya tengo una familia armada, entonces ha sido clave recibir el apoyo de todos”.

Mestrovic se trasladará a Miami no sólo junto a su hija Julieta y su novio, sino que además con la hija de éste. “Nos vamos los cuatro, así que las niñas van a cerrar ahora su año escolar para que pase lo que pase allá, eso no influya en que pasen o no de curso. Creo que esto también va a ser una bonita experiencia para ellas”, indica.

Respecto a su vinculo laboral con Chilevisión, la otrora figura de “Yingo” indica que tiene contrato vigente hasta el 31 de diciembre, pero que le gustaría renovarlo a su regreso a Chile. “Mi corazón y cariño están siempre con este canal. Ha sido mi casa durante los últimos diez años…, han sido muy cariñosos conmigo y han estado dispuestos a darme nuevas oportunidades. Yo estoy full agradecida con CHV”, dice la joven y aclara que en primera instancia estará sólo tres meses grabando la serie, y después volverá al país.

“Voy a dar el 200 por ciento para que todo lo que va a pasar sea para bien”, asegura.

Corría 2008 cuando con 17 años Carolina Mestrovic se coronaba como la mejor cantante de “Rojo”, antes del receso que vivió el espacio de TVN. Tras eso, emigró a Chilevisión, donde llegó como participante a “Yingo”. Luego se convirtió en animadora del espacio, pasó a “Sabingo”, fue parte backstage del Festival de Viña por seis años y participó en diferentes producciones dramáticas con mucho éxito.

En ese contexto fue llamada para hacer un casting para un programa infantil, y tras ser aprobada supo que era para Nickelodeon. La ariqueña ya tiene listas sus maletas junto a la familia para cumplir el sueño americano de grabar una serie junto al gigante de la televisión infantil.

“Estoy muy contenta, es una gran oportunidad, feliz, con ganas de aprovechar esto que es único”, cuenta Mestrovic, quien vivió todo de manera muy rápida, ya que “a través de una agencia de representantes de talento en Milán, habíamos hablado hace mucho tiempo cuando salí de ‘Rojo’, me escribieron hace como cinco meses, me pidieron videos cantando, bailando, envié todo y tuve que mandar escenas para un casting hasta que resultó”.

La decisión no se pensó mucho y junto a su pareja, el abogado Felipe Sánchez, la hija de él, Priscila de 15 años; y la hija de Mestrovic, Julieta de 7, decidieron irse a EE.UU., ya que es el mismo casting que pasaron todas las estrellas del canal infantil: “Él ha sido un tremendo apoyo, se atrevió con todo. Es diferente cuando una está sola en el mundo, a tener algo formado, evalué todo, lo vimos como una oportunidad mágica y nos vamos con todo”.

– ¿De qué se trata el proyecto?

Es una serie juvenil que tendrá baile, canto, actuación. Son todas las cosas que siempre me han gustado en la vida, me voy a fin de septiembre y parto grabando en octubre.

– Estilo “Violeta”, “Floricienta”…

Algo así, está enfocada al público infantil-juvenil, el cual comparto a través de la Julieta. Conozco cómo son estas series y me encantan, así que le vamos a poner lo mejor de mí para que salga todo bien.

– ¿Qué pasará con “Sabingo”, sigue grabando?

Lo tendré que dejar, pero aún así he grabado el doble. Ha sido intenso el tema, pero entretenido, es un programa al cual quiero mucho.

– ¿Qué se siente volver a actuar en tevé tras cinco años?

“Graduados” fue lo último que hice y es lindo volver. Estoy llena de ilusiones por el desarrollo personal, ojalá que sea un proyecto fructífero para toda la familia, le hemos puesto mucha energía.

– ¿Internacionalizar tu carrera era algo que buscabas ?

No, nunca me imaginé que me iba a trasladar del país con la familia, pero es bonito dejarse sorprender por las oportunidades que te da la vida.

– En Miami hay una comunidad importante, va a tener que pedir membresía…

Jajajá, claro, hay muchos chilenos, así que veremos cómo nos sumamos a ese clan.

“Mi contrato termina en diciembre, pero feliz volvería a Chilevisión”
Esta aventura, en primera instancia, duraría hasta finales de año, fecha en la que también termina su contrato con Chilevisión. ¿Qué pasará con el futuro de Mestrovic? Ella se lo toma todo con calma.

“En el papel mi contrato llega hasta el 31 de diciembre y feliz volvería a CHV, este proyecto es de tres meses y veremos qué sucederá más adelante, pero mi espíritu y corazón está con el canal, porque me han apoyado para que vaya y que todo resulte bien. Saben que es una oportunidad única y lo entendieron muy bien”.

Sin duda, una de sus principales preocupaciones eran los estudios de su hija. En este contexto, explicó que la menor pudo cerrar su año escolar sin problemas. “Así que se va prácticamente de vacaciones. Aunque igual voy a tratar de que refuerce su inglés”, añadió la animadora.

En cuanto a la postura de Mario Velasco, el papá de su hija, Caro reconoció que la apoyó en todo. “Además coincide en que es una súper buena experiencia para Julieta”, finalizó sobre la estadía que durará 3 meses.

Update (27/9) - Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Italia has announced that Viacom Pubblicità & Brand Solutions will be closing the 2018 (January 2017-September 2018) with excellent results, featuring a 36% growth over the previous year! In particular, the Kids & Family arm of VIMN Italia recorded very positive ratings. Comprised of Super! and Pop on FTA and the Nickelodeon Network on Sky Italia, grew overall by +13% (in revenues). Nickelodeon: le novità dell’autunno

In arrivo l'attesa serie reboot «Rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles», ma anche «La banda di Becca» per i più piccoli e «Star Falls» per i più grandicelli

Anche per i bambini l'autunno sarà pieno di novità. Sui canali Nickelodeon infatti stanno per arrivare episodi inediti delle serie più amate, da «Paw Patrol» su Nick Jr., il canale dedicato ai più piccoli (canali 603 e 604 di Sky), a «I Thunderman» su Nickelodeon (canali 605 e 606 di Sky), senza dimenticare «I am Franky» su TeenNick, il canale per i più grandicelli (canale 620 di Sky).

Ma stanno per arrivare anche dei nuovi titoli. Il più atteso è sicuramente «Rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles», reboot della famosa serie animata. Debutterà con due episodi in anteprima il 31 ottobre, per poi proseguire da novembre con un nuovo episodio ogni settimana. In arrivo anche la nuvoa serie per i bambini di fascia prescolare «La banda di Becca», su Nickelodeon Jr., e la serie live action «Star falls» su TeenNick.

Nickelodeon

Dal 10 settembre arrivano gli episodi della quarta stagione di «Henry Danger», che segue le avventure di Kid Danger e Captain Man alle prese con i cattivi che minacciano la citta di Swellview. Sei gli episodi in programmazione, con tanto di episodio speciale in cui i protagonisti dovranno viaggiare nel tempo per una nuova missione. Altri nove episodi inediti arriveranno su Nickelodeon a novembre. Il 19 settembre invece ci aspettano gli episodi finali della quarta stagione de «I Thunderman», la famiglia di supereroi di Nickelodeon.

Lunedì 1 ottobre arrivano invece i cinque nuovi episodi di «A casa dei Loud», che racconta la caotica vita dell'undicenne Lincoln, che divide la propria casa con ben dieci sorelle. Ad Halloween ci aspettano in anteprima i primi due episodi della nuova serie reboot «Rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles», incentrata sulla crescita delle quattro tartarughe mutanti più famose del mondo. Da novembre andrà in onda un nuovo episodio ogni settimana.

A novembre arrivano anche sette episodi inediti della terza stagione di «Alvinnn!!! And the Chipmunks» e altri sette episodi che concludono l'undicesima stagione di «Spongebob», la serie cult sulla spugna più amata di sempre.

Infine, a dicembre arrivano la prima stagione di «Knight Squad», serie live action che mescola avventura e comicità, ambientata in una magica scuola per aspiranti cavalieri.

Nick Jr.

Anche sul canale dedicato ai più piccoli ci aspettano tante novità. A settembre ogni mercoledì sera sarà dedicato alle «Maratone educational», per imparare divertendosi con episodi delle serie prescolari più amate dai bambini. Ogni maratona sarà incentrata su un tema diverso. Delle maratone tematiche sono previste anche per i venerdì di dicembre: «Il Natale con Nick Jr.» prevede infatti episodi tematici delle serie preferite dai più piccoli.

A ottobre arrivano quattro nuove puntate della quinta stagione di «Paw patrol», con i cuccioli impegnati in nuove missioni di salvataggio, mentre da lunedì 22 ottobre arrivano nove episodi inediti di «Sunny Day», con una puntata speciale prevista per il 31 ottobre. La serie segue le avventure di Sunny, che con le amiche gestisce un salone di bellezza.

A inizio novembre torniamo a seguire le vicende degli uccellini protagonisti di «Top Wing», con i nuovi episodi della prima stagione. In arrivo anche un episodio speciale (di 40 minuti) di «Paw Patrol», intitolato "Mighty Pups": stavolta i cuccioli acquisiranno dei veri e propri superpoteri dopo che un meteorite si abbatte sulla città. Infine, quattro nuovi episodi di «Blaze e le mega macchine»

I weekend di novembre si trasformano nei "weekend dell'amicizia", con una maratona tematica dedicata alle serie più amate del canale, da «Paw Patrol» a «Nella principessa coraggiosa».

A dicembre tornano le avventure delle geniette combinaguai protagoniste di «Shimmer and shine», di cui vedremo i nuovi episodi della quarta stagione. Poi ancora nove puntate inedite di «Rusty Rivets», su scienza e tecnologia.

Infine, una novità assoluta. A dicembre approda infatti su Nick Jr. «La banda di Becca», sulle avventure di Becca, uccellino dal cuore d'oro.

TeenNick

Sul canale dedicato agli adolescenti è tempo di novità. A settembre infatti debutta una nuova serie live action: «Star Falls» che segue le vicende di Sophie, quattordicenne intraprendente che cerca di fare in modo che sua madre finisca insieme a Craig Brooks, star hollywoodiana appena trasferitasi nella cittadina di Star Falls. Craig e i suoi tre figli si trasferiranno così da Sophie e sua madre, portando dietro tanti guai.

A ottobre invece arriva la seconda stagione di «I am Franky», che racconta le avventure dell'androide Franky alle prese con le emozioni umane. In questi nuovi episodi, Franky farà la conoscenza di un nuovo androide, appena arrivato nel suo liceo.

Viacom presenta i nuovi palinsesti e chiude l’anno fiscale con una bella raccolta adv (+36%). Romano: approccio distintivo

Viacom Pubblicità, concessionaria del gruppo guidato da Andrea Castellari, chiude il fiscal year 2018 (gennaio 2017-settembre 2018) con una crescita del +36% sul precedente.

Un risultato, precisa , Paolo Romano, responsabile di Viacom Pubblicità & Brand Solutions, non a perimetro omogeneo ottenuto grazie ad un portfolio di 14 canali – 8 sul dtt e 6 su Sky tra quelli che fanno capo al gruppo e quelli di editori terzi, oltre a Super! canale in JV tra De Agostini e Viacom Italia – in crescita, alla qualità dell’offerta e alla capacità di intercettare i target pubblicitari più importanti per il mercato.

In particolare l’area Kids&Family registra un andamento molto positivo. Composto da Super! e Pop sulla free e dal network Nickelodeon su Sky, complessivamente cresce del +13% (raccolta). In ascolti i kids registrano complessivamente una share dell’11% (va precisato però che Pop è però rilevato solo per 5 mesi su 12) e una crescita del +23% in share. La concessionaria rappresenta il 28% degli ascolti dell’offerta kids, seconda solo a Publitalia. La raccolta del resto dell’offerta Viacom cresce del +48%, con un bel +13% di Paramount Channel.

“La nostra unicità sta nell’approccio, sia come Viacom Pubblicità sia come editore”, spiega Romano, “poter contare su brand rilevanti che definiscono in maniera chiara i pubblici di consumo secondo logiche che non sono più soltanto socio-demografiche ma più contemporanee. Non vendiamo solo canali ma mondi di appartenenza, stili di vita e prodotti complementari al mondo in cui i nostri interlocutori vivono. Cerchiamo di instaurare partnership di lungo periodo e di trovare per i nostri partner delle soluzioni di comunicazione distintive e uniche, ponendoci anche come loro consulenti”.

Le novità dei palinsesti autunnali di Viacom Italia (nota del gruppo)

Sul digitale terrestre, i protagonisti dell’autunno 2018 di Paramount Channel (canale 27 del dtt) saranno George Clooney, Carlo Verdone del quale il canale celebrerà il 58esimo compleanno, il grande cinema dagli anni ’50 ad oggi, Marylin Monroe che sarà l’affascinante proposta del canale per il sabato sera. Le serie tv, dal light crime di Cassandre al daytime con La casa nella Prateria e Le Sorelle McLeod. E una serie di sorprese Natalizie che saranno svelate di giorno in giorno a partire dal 1° dicembre grazie ad un vero e proprio Calendario dell’Avvento. Film e serie che Paramount Channel riesce a rendere contemporanei e attuali grazie ad un trattamento moderno e alla forza di un brand riconosciuto e affidabile.

Su Spike (canale 49 del dtt), il canale che quest’autunno compirà il suo primo anno di vita, la novità lanciata a fine agosto in sintonia con i gusti degli spikers è stata Top Gear, programma davvero cult in tutto il mondo in onda sul canale con 3 stagioni intere di cui due in premiere assoluta sul fta, girate in seguito al burrascoso addio di Clarkson e che vedono l’ingresso nel cast di Matt Le Blanc, meglio conosciuto come l’esilarante Joey di Friends. Esilaranti, ma per altri motivi, gli appuntamenti autunnali con Made in Sud e la comicità di Maurizio Battista, comicità che ben rappresenta l’altra anima degli spikers.
Continuano poi gli appuntamenti con Bellator: Spike ha, infatti, acquisito i diritti degli eventi Bellator fino a fine anno nei quali saranno protagonisti le più grandi stelle mondiali di MMA, appuntamento fisso della seconda serata del sabato sera anche in autunno.

Su VH1 (canale 67 del dtt), la musica come sempre farà da padrone soprattuto nel daytime con fasce dedicate di video rotation, mentre la novità dell’autunno saranno le serie tv tramesse in serata dalle 19.30: da E.R Medici in Prima Linea e Will&Grace, da Merlin a Relic Hunter e Tutto in famiglia. Non mancheranno poi, nella programmazione serale, i live come lo Speciale Biffy Clyro a settembre e un nuovo Storytellers con Elisa a dicembre che verrà registrato a novembre durante la Milano Music Week, di cui Viacom Italia sarà per il secondo anno consecutivo il Main Partner con i brand VH1 e MTV.

Novità, innovazione, sperimentazione e irriverenza caratterizzeranno la programmazione dell’autunno anche per i brand di Viacom Italia presenti in esclusiva su Sky.

Su MTV (canale 130 di Sky) quest’anno verrà alzata ancora un po’ l’asticella con l’arrivo dal 26 settembre ogni mercoledì alle 22.50 di Ex on the beach Italia, il reality targato MTV che ha già riscosso grande successo in USA, UK e Benelux, nel quale 8 single molto attraenti, quattro uomini e quattro donne, dovranno fare i conti con il passato sullo sfondo delle spiagge paradisiache della Thailandia. Inviata speciale per tutte le puntate dello show sarà Elettra Lamborghini, eclettica ereditiera italiana che MTV ha lanciato e valorizzato televisivamente. A novembre tornerà l’appuntamento con gli MTV EMAs, il live show di musica e spettacolo che premia gli artisti più amati dai ragazzi di tutto il mondo, che quest’anno saranno in diretta da Bilbao il 4 novembre su tutti i canali di MTV, Italia compresa. Come sempre non mancheranno grandi ospiti, esibizioni spettacolari e esilaranti momenti di intrattenimento. E sul finire dell’anno arriverà poi l’attesa terza edizione di #Riccanza, programma cult che MTV Italia ha creato, prodotto e trasmesso con grandissimo successo, generando, come solo MTV sa fare, un fenomeno sulla bocca di tutti e icone pop che abbiamo visto ospiti in tanti programmi delle tv generaliste. Nuovi personaggi faranno parte del cast della terza stagione (prodotta anche quest’anno dalla DueB).

Su Comedy Central (Sky 128) arriva da martedì 25 settembre alle 21.00 Untraditional 2, la seconda inedita stagione della serie di e con Fabio Volo. Ad ottobre torna, invece, l’irriverenza di South Park con la nuova e inedita 22esima stagione che si preannuncia salace e che avrà il Presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump al centro della satira. Satira che su Comedy Central parla anche italiano, con il ritorno a grande richiesta di Battistology! con una nuova terza edizione, nella quale il comico Maurizio Battista racconta la «sua» Roma, prevista per fine anno, e gli spettacoli di Stand Up con grandi artisti del panorama comico italiano a novembre.

Sui canali del networks Nickelodeon presenti nell’area kids&family di Sky dove, accanto ai nuovi episodi delle serie più amate e seguite, da Paw Patrol, Blaze e le mega macchine e Shimmer & Shine sul pre scolare NickJr (Sky 603), alle live action Herny Danger e I Thunderman su Nickelodeon (Sky 605) e I am Frankie su Teen Nick (Sky 620), la grande novità dell’autunno sarà il reboot de Le Tartarughe Ninja: un look completamente rinnovato che esordirà ad Halloween con l’anteprima dei primi due episodi della nuova serie, più colore, più comedy, più divertimento nelle avventure sotterranee di Raffaello, Leonardo, Donatello e Michelangelo.

Su Super! (Canale 47 dtt), il canale free to air per ragazzi in joint venture con De Agostini Editore, in autunno tornerà la grande animazione con le nuove attesissime puntate previste per ottobre della serie Spirit Riding Free di DreamWorks Animation che racconta la storia della piccola Lucky e del suo inseparabile cavallo Spirit. La sigla italiana della serie internazionale è cantata da Mal e Thomas. Spazio anche ai beniamini del pubblico di Super! con due appuntamenti ad ottobre in prima tv: JoJo Siwa: My World che racconta attraverso segreti ed aneddoti come la giovane JoJo Siwa sia diventata una stella di Nickelodeon e un personaggio amatissimo dai teenager di tutto il mondo e Matt & Bise come sopravvivere a New York, un formato breve grazie al quale i telespettatori viaggeranno con i due youtuber più amati d’Italia alla scoperta di New York, in occasione dell’uscita del loro terzo libro “Come sopravvivere a New York”.

Per quello che riguarda, invece, i canali di editori terzi seguiti dalla concessionaria Viacom Pubblicità & Brand Solutions, in particolare segnaliamo queste novità in arrivo a partire da lunedì 1° ottobre.

Su Pop (canale 45 del dtt) dal 14 ottobre arrivano le avventure di Stuart Little 2, il topo parlante più amato da tutti , mentre dal 20 ottobre Gatto Contraffatto, un nuovo divertentissimo cartone con due gatti matti. Il mese continua il 27 ottobre con Zeus alla conquista di Halloween, in onda sia il 27 che il 31 ottobre, per arrivare allo Speciale Halloween, dalle 16.00 del 31 ottobre: una selezione degli episodi più spaventosi delle serie più amate, da The Bagel and Becky Show a Wild Kratts, fino all’episodio di Zeus in onda alle ore 20.00.

Su CineSony (canale 55 del dtt) l’autunno sarà sempre all’insegna dle grande cinema in prima serata. Si parte il 3 ottobre con la commedia romantica Every Day, il 7 ottobre con il thriller Trappola Criminale, per arrivare poi ai grandi classici come L’Avvocato del Diavolo, thriller soprannaturale con Keanu Reeves in onda il 21 ottobre mentre il 28 ottobre sarà la volta de Il Genio della Truffa con Nicolas Cage diretto da Ridley Scott. Per il ciclo dei grandi eventi, il 1 ottobre vedrà la serata dedicata ad Alfred Hitchcook, con 4 dei suoi film più famosi in onda a partire dalle 21.00 mentre per quanto riguarda il ciclo Cine Family sabato 13 ottobre vedrà una maratona di film dalle 14.40 alle 21.00 con titoli per tutta la famiglia. Il mese terminerà poi con una maratona dedicata ad Halloween.

Su Deejay Tv (canale 69 del dtt) è ripartito dal 17 settembre DeeJay Chiama Italia il programma cult con Linus e Nicola Savino in onda in diretta dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 10.00 alle 12.00 con commenti ironici e divertenti dei fatti del giorno e tanti ospiti. Dal 1 ottobre parte, invece, Pomeriggio su DeeJay, in onda dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 14.00 alle 17.00, un nuovo programma in esclusiva Tv con Gianluca Gazzoli, Frank e Wad.

La raccolta dell’area kids cresce del 13%, quella sui canali per il pubblico adulto del 48%

L’anno fiscale 2018 di Viacom Pubblicità (1 ottobre 2017 – 30 settembre 2018) chiuderà con una crescita del 36% sul 2017 (a perimetro non omogeneo), come dichiarato da Paolo Romano, Direttore Generale Viacom Pubblicità & Brand Solutions. In particolare, la raccolta dell’area kids&family (Super! e Pop sulla free e il network Nickelodeon su Sky) è cresciuta del 13%, mentre gli ascolti hanno generato una share complessiva dell’11% (va evidenziato che Pop è stato rilevato per cinque mesi su 12 del FY Viacom) e una crescita del 23% sull’anno. La concessionaria rappresenta il 28% degli ascolti dell’offerta kids, ed è seconda a Publitalia. I brand destinati a un pubblico adulto (nove canali, di cui 6 fta e 3 Sky) ha visto la raccolta crescere del +48%, di cui un +13% su Paramount Channel. Sul fronte ascolti, a settembre il comparto ha visto crescere il proprio share del 42% (vs settembre 2017). Bene anche il target Millennials, con il sito di Mtv che supera oggi i 5mln di utenti unici. Eventi (come gli Mtv Emas, Storytellers con Elisa, che sarà l’evento di inaugurazione della Milano Music Week, di cui Viacom Italia è main partner), branded content, partnership, proposte di addressable tv e i progetti di Viacom Lab (incontri indirizzati ai partner e clienti della concessionaria, dove vengono presentate ricerche internazionali con focus locali) sono tra gli asset della concessionaria per offrire ai clienti soluzioni che vadano oltre le classiche logiche sociodemografiche. I risultati della concessionaria, ha spiegato Romano, sono frutto di un lavoro di squadra, che vede nella prima linea Micaela Lodrini (responsabile area Brand Solutions), Michele Strazzera (responsabile area operations e sales development), Stefano Tenca (direttore commerciale agenzie e centri media), Andrea D’Alonzo (direttore commerciale area nord) e Gianluca Stivali (direttore commerciale area centro-sud).

Viacom Pubblicità continua a credere nell’advertising addressable e conferma la partnership avviata a inizio anno con Smartclip, anche grazie all’adesione di clienti del calibro di Ferrero e Toyota. «Grazie all’addressable siamo in grado oggi di pianificare banner interattivi all’interno della nostra offerta televisiva fruita in chiaro sul digitale terrestre attraverso le smart tv», spiega il direttore generale Paolo Romano. «In questo modo possiamo da un lato contare su una nuova fonte di ricavi, dall’altro sperimentare nuove forme di relazione con gli spettatori in un mondo dove la televisione e il web si vanno sempre di più ad affiancare se non sovrapporre». Nuovo frontiere della pianificazione pubblicitaria che ad oggi impattano ancora poco sui conti dei broadcaster nazionali ma che presto assumeranno un peso più rilevante.

La concessionaria di Viacom, il gruppo statunitense che edita in Italia i canali Paramount Channel, Spike, Vh1 e Super! (quest’ultimo in joint venture con De Agostini Editore) sul digitale terrestre, e Mtv, Mtv Music, Mtv Hits, Mtv Rocks, Comedy Central, NickJr, Nickelodeon e Teen Nick su Sky, ha chiuso intanto l’esercizio fiscale al 30 settembre «con un fatturato pubblicitario in crescita del 36% a perimetro non omogeneo», considerando dunque anche i nuovi lanci avvenuti lo scorso anno, tra cui Vh1 e Spike, così come le nuove concessioni da parte di editori terzi, tra cui Pop e Cine Sony, i nuovi canali della Sony e Alpha di De Agostini Editore (quest’ultimo passato quest’estate a Sky Media).

Nell’area dei ragazzi, «da noi presidiata con Super! e Pop sul digitale terrestre gratuito, e con il network Nickelodeon su Sky, la raccolta pubblicitaria è aumentata del 13%. La concessionaria, grazie ad audience in costante crescita, è arrivata a rappresentare il 28% degli ascolti dell’offerta kids, in seconda posizione dietro a Publitalia. Nel mondo degli adulti, invece, l’insieme dei nostri 9 canali tra digitale terrestre e satellite ha raggiunto il 2,5% di share e ha aumentato le entrate pubblicitarie, sempre a perimetro non omogeneo, del 48%. Paramount Channel in particolare, il nostro canale di punta, ha aumentato i ricavi del 13%».

Performance positive ma sempre al di sotto delle attese della concessionaria, dal momento che «il mercato continua a non riconoscere il giusto valore ai risultati di ascolti dei nostri canali, premiando piuttosto più del dovuto i broadcaster storici del mercato. Secondo le nostre valutazioni, l’1% di share dovrebbe valere oggi circa 29/30 milioni di euro netti di raccolta pubblicitaria, un risultato che non vede lontano alcuni dei nostri canali e molto distanti invece altre emittenti del portafoglio che gestiamo. Il nostro obiettivo rimane dunque far capire ad aziende e centri media il valore di canali che hanno ottenuto in breve tempo ottimi risultati di ascolto con offerte molto targetizzate».

La concessionaria, prosegue Paolo Romano, ha invece potuto contare «su una forte spinta da parte dell’area delle cosiddette brand solutions, ovvero gli eventi e i progetti di branded content, con un peso ormai pari al 13% del giro d’affari complessivo», mentre l’87% del fatturato spetta alla pubblicità tabellare tra tv e siti. Un progetto di branded content pensato inizialmente solo per il mondo digitale prenderà il via lunedì 1 ottobre. Le sette puntate di “Brain back home”, questo il nome della produzione, saranno trasmesse per cinque settimane sul sito e i canali social di Mtv, grazie alla partecipazione al progetto di Perfetti e Personal Book.

Nell’esercizio 2017, chiuso alla fine di settembre dello scorso anno, Viacom Italia aveva incassato 67,9 milioni di euro, in aumento di oltre il 20,6% rispetto al 2016, mentre il valore della produzione di Viacom Pubblicità aveva ha raggiunto i 51,16 milioni di euro, cin un crescita del 68 sul 2016. Meus Prêmios Nick is Brazil's largest children's and teen awards, and celebrates kids’ favourites from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and more! Like previous years, Meus Prêmios Nick 2018 will feature lots of musical performances, irreverence, orange blimps, jokes, social responsibility and, of course, slime!


Kids across Brazil can now vote for who they want to see win a coveted Nickelodeon Orange Blimp Award in the second round of voting online at meuspremiosnick.com.br, via the Nick Play app (available to download for free on iOS and Android devices), and on Twitter using the hashtags below. O maior evento da televisão paga infantil já tem data para acontecer. Em 7 de novembro ocorre o Meus Prêmios Nick, no Credicard Hall, em São Paulo. A Nickelodeon divulgou a lista de finalistas da 19ª edição do evento, que irá premiar as personalidades que mais de destacaram no entretenimento e no mundo digital.

As votações da segunda fase estão abertas e podem ser feitas pelo site da premiação, pelo aplicativo Nick Play ou pelo Twitter, usando #MPN e a hashtag do nome do indicado. Ao todo, são 19 categorias integrando a lista da premiação. 'Meme do Ano' e 'Ship do Ano' são novidades que, a partir de 2018, irão premiar seus destaques também.

Nickelodeon promove ação de seeding para os finalistas dos "Meus Prêmios Nick 2018"

A segunda fase de votações da 19° edição de ‘Meus Prêmios Nick’ já começou. Para comemorar, os finalistas das categorias Canal de YouTube Favorito eGamer do Ano foram surpreendidos com uma ação de seeding desenvolvida pela área de marketing da Nickelodeon com o objetivo de confirma-los na segunda fase da competição e engajar o público nessa corrida final. A premiação acontece dia 7 de novembro, no Credicard Hall, em São Paulo.

Personalidades como Maisa Silva, Bibi Tatto, TazerCraft e Am3nic receberam uma caixa misteriosa cheia de Slime e com um único aviso: ‘Pegue a câmera e grave a abertura do momento mais marcante do seu dia!’. A ideia era que cada um gravasse sua reação ao mergulhar a mão noSLIME para descobrir que está na final da premiação.

Maisa concorre em quatro categorias e foi uma das influenciadoras que compartilhou seu momento ao saber que segue entre os finalistas de ‘Meus Prêmios Nick’ 2018.

Ainda como parte da estratégia de campanha foi desenvolvido um concurso em que serão distribuídos para o público 300 ingressos para o show. O concurso se baseia em captar vídeos das crianças fazendo seu próprio slime. A área de marketing Viacom foca em ações interativas com o público de forma a aproximar as crianças do mundo aspiracional da marca.

Nickelodeon today announced its latest TV movie titled Bixler High Private Eye, starring Jace Norman and Ariel Martin, TheWrap reports. The comedy tells the story of a young sleuth whose father suddenly goes missing.

Norman plays Xander DeWitt, who has a knack for solving mysteries and finds himself tackling his biggest case when his father leaves for work one day and suddenly disappears without a trace. After hijinks and skipping school to find his dad, Xander’s mom sends him to live with his former private investigator grandfather in his dad’s hometown. He finds a surprising lead there and teams up with Kenzie Messina, played by Baby Ariel, an investigative reporter for the school newspaper.

The TV movie also marks Henry Danger star Norman’s first time as executive producer. See the first look photo above.

In the awesome photos below, you can see Jace and Ariel Martin, a.k.a. Baby Ariel, in action. This movie looks like it’s going to be so much fun. This is Baby Ariel’s acting debut. “Bixler High Private Eye is very special to me since it is the first project that I helped to develop with Nickelodeon and executive producing a movie has always been a dream of mine” Jace told HollywoodLife. “Bixler High Private Eye is a funny, heartwarming story, with mystery and lots of action. Ariel and I had great time working together on this movie and can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

Baby Ariel is just as pumped as Jace for the movie! “I am beyond excited for the release of Bixler High Private Eye,” she said. “I had the best time playing Kenzie, a passionate and hard-working teenager, whose heart and determination was inspiring. The cast and crew were a dream to work with. Jace and I not only worked so well together, but also laughed non-stop. Our director, Leslie [Kolins Small], made being on set everyday such a joy and pleasure.” The movie is set to air in early 2019.

Norman executive produces with Scott Norman, Rene Rigal and Tobin Armburst. Greg Sills produces. The movie was written by Danny Kallis, Michele Wolff and Christopher Baldi, and directed by Leslie Kolins Small.

Norman currently stars in Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger and has a start-up social media marketing company called Creator Edge Media. Martin, also known as “Baby Ariel,” is a social media star, singer, entrepreneur, and author. She has reached an audience of nearly 40 million on her social media platinums. Her book, Dreaming Out Loud, will be released Oct. 9.

Henry Danger is year-to-date the number-one show on TV with kids 2-11 and 6-11, according to Nickelodeon.

Over 4,000 Children And Their Families Attend Nickelodeon’s Nickfest In Lagos

Nigeria - Federal Palace Hotel witnessed an incredible fun-filled experience at the second edition of Nickelodeon's family festival NickFest Nigeria on the 29th and 30th September. The event which had over 4,000 kids in attendance is one that attendees will not forget in a hurry!

Hosted by the very friendly and hilarious duo of IK Osakioduwa and Nigeria’s Got Talent winner Amarachi the event was all shades of fun as kids were excited seeing their favourite animated Nickelodeon’s superstar characters live such as SpongeBob Squarepants, Adventure Bay’s intrepid pups, Skye, Rubble Marshall and Chase from Paw Patrol, the energetic Dora the Explorer with her animal rescuer cousin, Diego and her best pal, Boots to everyone’s favourite genies, Shimmer and Shine and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The two-day extravaganza kids event, was a blend of loads of fun and good music from Africa’s adored A-list music acts such as MI, Simi, Adekunle Gold and Mayorkun who satisfactorily entertained the children, parents and fun lovers with some of their family-friendly songs which of course got the whole venue in an endless sing-along. Nickfest’s Host, Ik Osakioduwa, co-hosts Amarachi and Mannie from Cool fm as well as other celebrities in attendance, got slimed several times over to raise awareness and funds for indigent Children’s Trust project.

They all slithered around and bathed in thousands of litres of gloriously gooey slime in the legendary slime zone. The venue was transformed into a beautiful wonderland for the kids with amazing toys, fun game and activities, and plenty of colour, notably Nickelodeon's traditional bright orange which helped achieve a beautiful, fun-friendly and relaxing ambience.

Speaking at the venue of the event, Alex Okosi, Executive Vice President (EVP) and Managing Director (MD) VIMN Africa, owners of Nickelodeon, said: “Over the years, Nickelodeon has entertained families world over. Nickelodeon Benelux to Premiere 'De Viral Fabriek' Season 2 on Sunday 7th October 2018 [Updated With PR]

Nickelodeon Benelux has once again teamed up with popular YouTube stars for a second season of the networks hit weekly competition series De Viral Fabriek (The Viral Factory), set to premiere at 6:00pm uur on Sunday 7th October 2018 on Nickelodeon Netherlands (Nederland) and Belgium (België; Flanders)! The second season will be presented by Nienke van Dijk and Jasper Publie.


Who doesn't dream of becoming the next big YouTuber, coached along the way by some of today's most popular YouTubers? In Nickelodeon's De Viral Fabriek, eight new teams of young YouTubers will compete with some of the biggest Dutch and Belgian YouTubers!

Following the broadcast of each weeks episode, the battle will continue online, when the contestants place their vlogs on Nickelodeon Nederland's official YouTube channel. Each weeks winner will be determined by the number of likes viewers give each video. The winning kids will then go on to compete against each other in the big live final on Sunday 2nd December 2018, where one lucky winner will win the grand prize: A professional camera package and training from a YouTube professional on how they can build their own successful YouTube channel!

One of the eight teams competing on De Viral Fabriek season two is comprised of Ambachtse Aniek and Ju-lieke, who were selected to compete on the show out from lots of contestant applications.

For the last two weeks, the two young girls from Drechtsteden, in the company of a well-known YouTuber and a Nickelodeon camera crew, we spotted in Drechtsteden. Aniek Groenewout and Ju-lieke Snijders are two enthusiastic vloggers. They continuously film and vlog, but there is still little home-made content produced by them on the internet. Editing the raw film material is something that the girls still find difficult. When Nickelodeon was looking for new contestants for the The Viral Factory season two, the decision to sign up was quickly made. Because how can you learn how to YouTube better than from real YouTubers? The ladies recorded a movie and sent it in. After an selection period, the pair were eventually chosen as one of the 8 participating teams.

Dit najaar krijgt nieuw, jong Youtube-talent weer de kans om gecoacht te worden door de populairste YouTubers van dit moment in het Viacom/Nickelodeon programma 'De Viral Fabriek'.

Tijdens de afleveringen volgen we de deelnemers die, onder leiding van hun coach, een video maken met maar één doel: viral gaan! Onder leiding van 8 van de grootste YouTubers van Nederland en België gaan kids de strijd met elkaar aan.

'De Viral Fabriek' wordt gepresenteerd door Nienke van Dijk en Vlaamse co-host Jasper Publie. De Vlaamse YouTube sterren Morgane Eyletten en Just Jade coachen de deelnemende kids, samen met hun Nederlandse collega's: Mark Hoekx, Royalistiq, Cromotag, Femke Meines, Jill en Bokado. Just Jade komt zelfs weer terug voor het tweede seizoen!


De strijd gaat online verder

Na de TV-uitzending gaat de strijd online verder wanneer de deelnemers hun vlog op het Nickelodeon YouTube-kanaal plaatsen, waar de winnaar van de week bepaald wordt door het aantal likes op de video door de kijkers. Hierna strijden de winnende kids per aflevering tegen elkaar tot de grote live finale. De prijs? Hamleys’ Regent Street store played host to an entourage of ninja turtles this weekend to celebrate the launch of the new Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line with a special meet and greet event!

The new look Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey, brought some colour and humour to a wet, grey day at Hamleys flagship store on Regent Street as they met the public in their first ever Rise of the TMNT UK character appearance.

The reimagined turtles are now four different species: Raph is a jagged-shelled snapping turtle; Leo is a red-eared slider turtle; Donnie is a soft-shell turtle, and Mikey is a box turtle.

Store visitors also had the chance to participate in special ‘light-speed’ challenges, have their faces painted and watch episodes of the new Nickelodeon show in store. The meet & greet follows the recent launch of the latest reimagining, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, airing now on Nicktoons and Channel 5.

People visiting Hamleys on Sunday were also be able to see the new Turtles in half hour slots on the hour from 12pm-4.30pm and participate in activities listed above. Visitors were encourages to share their photos on social media using the hashtag #HamleysTurtleTakeover on both days.

The breathtaking merchandise includes action figures, vehicles, play sets and role-play, and are already some of the hottest toys on wish lists in the run-up to Christmas! The all-new highly detailed Action Figures are uniquely sculpted and fully articulated with heights ranging from 3” to 5”. Each figure comes with translucent accessories. The Deluxe Ninja Action Figures have flipping actions plus movement and weapon sound effects. To complete the collection, The Giant Figure Assortment stand 11” tall and have 13 points of articulation. Fully equipped and ready for battle.



The new Shell Hog Motorcycles let the foursome take out any villains. The Hogs are equipped with spring loaded projectiles and can connect to one another to pack a punch going into battle.

The Turtle Tank 2-in-1 toy has two modes. In vehicle mode, the front cab opens for two Turtles to sit inside and drive the brothers into action. Then Donatello’s removable lab rises up and serves as the mobile command headquarters.

The Role-Play Assortment includes four sets of the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arsenal of weapons. Each ninja weapon comes with a signature Turtles mask and a new throwing star. Each set is true to its character with Raphael’s Tonfas, Leonardo’s Odachi Sword, Donatello’s Tech-Bo Staff and Michelangelo’s Kusari-fundo.

Nickelodeon International has entered a pan-European, multi-year toy partnership with SAMBRO, a global supplier of licensed merchandise! The new agreement expands Nickelodeon’s relationship with SAMBRO to include more properties, product categories and European markets.

As part of the expanded partnership, SAMBRO will develop a complete new range range of outdoor and novelty toys, arts & crafts, stationery and bags, plus new educational games and role play sets for Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. branded products, as well as select character brands.

“SAMBRO impressed us with their work on Nickelodeon Slime from January this year, and this new, expanded agreement signals our confidence in the relationship,” said Mark Kingston, Senior Vice President (SVP), International, Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP). “We believe that the same creativity SAMBRO showed with Nickelodeon Slime will shine through in all of the properties covered in this new agreement.”


This partnership with SAMBRO is Nickelodeon’s broadest rights deal with a single partner in Europe. A new product line will launch in Spring/Summer 2019 and will include PAW Patrol, Shimmer & Shine, Nickelodeon Slime, Nella the Princess Knight, Rusty Rivets, Nick 90’s and more.

Pam Kaufman, president of global consumer products at Viacom/Nickelodeon, will take part in a fireside chat with License Global content director Amanda Cioletti during the opening day keynote at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe (BLE). The session, titled "Brand Licensing Europe Official Keynote Session 1", will take place on Tuesday, October 9th at 12:00pm BST (GMT+1).


National Geographic, Moomin, Richard Pink, Sanrio and LIMA are also confirmed to speak at the BLE 2018 seminar program.

Kaufman will share her insights into the changing retail landscape and will discuss why the newly-formed, globally-aligned Viacom/Nickelodeon Consumer Products positions the organization for success and where consumer products fit into Viacom’s broader strategy.

“Brand Licensing Europe is one of the industry’s premier events, and I am honored to be part of this year’s program,” says Kaufman. “2018 was a pivotal year in retail and also a year of big changes at Viacom/Nickelodeon Consumer Products, as we became one globally unified team earlier this year. In additional news, Jules Borkent, Executive Vice President (EVP), Content Management and Network Strategy at Nickelodeon, will be a key speaker in the MIPJunior 2018 "View from the Top: Gazing into the Future of Kids’ Media" session, taking place on Saturday 13th October 2018. During the session, Borkent will make predictions about the future of the industry and take questions from the audience. Borkent will be joined by a selection of his fellow kids television executives, including Turner’s Adina Pitt, Universal Kids’ Karen Miller and BBC’s Jackie Edwards.

Margie Cohn, President of DreamWorks Animation Television will also keynote at MIPJunior 2018. The keynote will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel on Sunday, October 15 at 5 pm and will be followed by Q&A session with Margie Cohn, moderated by Anna Carugati of Worldscreen.

Cohn previously spent 26 years at Nickelodeon, where in various development and production roles she helped make the network number one in cable television for 18 consecutive years. She started as a coordinator in physical production and left as President of Content Development. During her years at Nick, she was involved in every type of production including live action scripted comedy; animation; games and reality; TV movies; documentary; soap opera and event programming. Some of the series under her guidance that went on to become beloved hits include Double Dare, Clarissa Explains It All, All That, The Fairly OddParents, SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, iCarly, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee and the Kids’ Choice Awards among many others.

São Paulo, Brazil - To celebrate Children's Day, the Central Plaza Shopping has teamed up with Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) to bring the Nickelodeon Arena to the shopping centre in São Paulo this October! The Nickelodeon Arena is an immersive fun-filled multi-zoned activation where kids can take part in a variety of activities inspired by the hit Nickelodeon shows Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and Shimmer and Shine. JAKKS Pacific Officially Inks Deal with Paramount Players for Creepy Crawlers Feature Film

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAKK), a leader in children’s entertainment, today announced Paramount Players, a division of Viacom’s (NASDAQ: VIAB) (NASDAQ:VIA) Paramount Pictures Corporation, has officially acquired the feature film rights to CREEPY CRAWLERS™, the iconic toy brand owned by JAKKS Pacific!

Neal H. Moritz will produce and Marc Gurvitz and Stephen Berman will serve as executive producers of the feature film. Ali Bell and Royce Reeves-Darby will be overseeing the project for Paramount Players.

“Paramount and Viacom are best-in-class partners. We are thrilled to be in collaboration with this powerhouse team, including Neal Moritz, on the development and production of a CREEPY CRAWLERS™ feature film for Family audiences around the world,” said Stephen Berman, Chairman and CEO of JAKKS.

When the news was announced earlier this year, Berman said in a statement: “Creepy Crawlers has been an iconic brand since the 1960’s and we are honored to work with Neal Moritz, Paramount Players, and the Nickelodeon-Viacom Family in bringing it to life on the big screen,” adding “We, and the studio, envision the property to be developed into a family adventure film in the vein of Jumanji.”

Composer and former The B-52s band member Pat Irwin discusses Rocko’s Modern Life, The Good Cop& more!


Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series Rocko’s Modern Life was a staple for a lot of kids in the mid-’90s and over the years has even garnered a new generation of viewers through reruns. So when Nick announced it was making a new made-for-television movie version of the show with the original voice cast members, fans were over the moon. The film is called Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling and is slated to be released soon. On top of the original voice cast members coming back to the project, the show’s composer Pat Irwin will also be creating new tunes for the latest installment. Irwin scored the entire original run of the show along with hits such as Nurse Jackie, Pepper Ann, and a few episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants to name a few. Aside from Rocko, Irwin’s music can also be heard on Netflix’s The Good Cop, which just premiered starring Tony Danza and Josh Groban. Nerd Reactor decided to speak with Irwin about creating these iconic scores and more in this interview.

You scored the iconic Rocko’s Modern Life for Nick. Can you tell us how that came about and what initially attracted you to the project?

I was in a band called the Raybeats that was making a little noise around New York City when Nickelodeon was starting out as a network. It just so happened that an executive at Nickelodeon was a Raybeats fan and he recommended me for the job. I’ve always loved cartoon music and this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.


Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling

Whenever you are looking back on Rocko’s Modern Life, what do you remember most about working on the project?

I remember the musicians. We had a phenomenal band and we really began to play like one. Kevin Norton, who at the time was playing with Anthony Braxton, set the tone for everyone. David Hofstra played bass and tuba. He was in the Raybeats for a while and he also played with the Contortions, The Microscopic Septet, John Zorn, and just about everyone else in the Downtown music scene. Art Baron played the trombone and Rob DeBellis played the clarinet. Art was in the Duke Ellington Orchestra. He’s a master and brought a depth of playing that set the tone for not only the band but my writing. Rob was playing in a band called Big Trouble and was also playing in a band led by the great Don Byron. Don had just put out a record called Bug Music that featured some of the great cartoon music written by Raymond Scott. These musicians raised the level of the whole experience.

Over 20 years after Rocko’s Modern Life went off the air, Nick is bringing it back with a new feature film titled Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling. Are you doing anything to update the score? Also, are there techniques or instruments that you used on the original that aren’t available now?

I used the same band on the movie that played on the cartoon, so it was kind of like a family reunion. Dan Rieser also played drums on some of the cues. Dan has worked with me on The Good Cop, Nurse Jackie, and Bored to Death, and is one of my favorite musicians.

You are currently scoring Netflix’s The Good Cop. Is there a different approach to scoring live action as opposed to animation?

When you score for animation the music gets much closer to the picture. Sometimes it feels like you’re inside the drawings. When you score for live action it’s up to the composer to find more distance.

Even though Rocko’s Modern Life and The Good Cop are two completely different shows, are there any similarities between the two show scores?

To be honest, I can’t find any similarities between the scores for Rocko and The Good Cop except they’re both written by the same composer.

Your résumé includes four episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants. Can you tell us a little about that?

The score for SpongeBob was created using mostly needle drops. The music editor, Nick Carr, and I had worked together on Rocko and Pepper Ann. Nick pulled together the library for SpongeBob and asked me to contribute.

Would you like to score more SpongeBob?

I love SpongeBob and would gladly score more if I had the time.

If given the opportunity to score any of the Marvel projects, which one would you pick?

Marvel! I’m a Silver Surfer fan.

Hachette Livre was appointed as the master publishing partner for Oggy and the Cockroaches, and Panini is on board to launch Oggy and the Cockroaches sticker collections and magazines. Hachette will develop chapter, story, activity and novelty book formats, in addition to stationery lines. The items will be available at mass, book and toy retailers, as well as online. Oggy and the Cockroaches titles will be released from Q4 2018. The deal marks the launch of the first-ever chapter books for Oggy and the Cockroaches, and the titles will be published under Hachette’s Bibliothèque Rose brand. Xilam’s agreement with Panini will see the launch of Oggy and the Cockroaches collectible stickers and albums, as well as a quarterly magazine. Available at news kiosks and mass market retailers and on Panini’s websites, the branded sticker collection and magazine will be based on the fifth season of the show, titled Oggy Through the Ages. The French licensing program for Oggy and the Cockroaches is spearheaded by new master toy partner Lansay, which launched its first permanent line in January. For Christmas 2018, Lansay will introduce a new action game. Additionally. CCI is gearing up to launch its first shoe range this autumn/winter.

-- Claude Schmit, CEO of Germany's RTL, reveals that PAW Patrol and Peppa Pig are big hits for Super RTL! Excerpts:

TV KIDS: What’s driven that dominance for you?

SCHMIT: Our in-house productions, our magazines, are working very well. That’s not surprising, because they distinguish us from the American channels. We do invest heavily in our own shows. We have Super Toy Club, which we first had on air 15 years ago. Boys compete against girls and the winning team gets three minutes to run through the aisles of a toy store collecting whatever they want in a shopping cart. We are producing the second season and there are more seasons to come. We have Woozle Goozle, a science and knowledge magazine that is very funny. The classic Warner Bros. titles are doing very well. The DreamWorks shows are doing fine. Angelo! is doing terrifically. PAW Patrol, a Nickelodeon production, airs on Super RTL and the ratings are going through the roof. It has a huge market share among younger kids. It’s our best-performing preschool format. We are also the merchandising agent on PAW Patrol. That’s a very interesting blueprint. We did a similar deal with Peppa Pig, which was part of German public television’s Die Sendung mit der Maus (The Show with the Mouse). That is working well as well. That might be a blueprint for future cooperation.

TV KIDS: You mentioned earlier that Super RTL is the German merchandising agency for PAW Patrol and Peppa Pig. How has your licensing and merchandising business been, and what are your forecasts for it in the years ahead?

SCHMIT: Fifty percent plus. There is much positivity in that business right now. We are, after Disney, number two in the merchandising field in Germany; we used to be number four or five. A powerful impact is coming from PAW Patrol. That is going through the roof.
