'Tim Rex in Space' to Land on Milkshake! in the UK on Monday 5th May 2025

Milkshake!, the preschool programming strand of Paramount-owned British public broadcaster 5, will premiere the brand new animated preschool series Tim Rex in Space on Monday 5th May 2025, with new episodes airing weekdays at 7:55am! The series will also be available to stream on 5's streaming service. Fans can also out-of-this-world sneak peeks on Milkshake! leading up to the show's premiere.

Tim Rex in Space follows a Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex) named Tim, his big brother Tommy, little sister Tia and triceratops bestie Kai as they tackle kid-shaped adventures with dino-sized solutions in space. Tim and his family live in a unique world comprised of a cluster of asteroids that make up the town of Rumbleton. This intergalactic environment is a quintessential 21st century suburban town, with each asteroid hosting family homes, cafés, shops, parks, and even a beach. All asteroids are connected by a network of slides, ziplines and trampolines, but can also easily be reached on a quick rocket ride.

Tim Rex in Space follows a T-Rex named Tim, his big brother Tommy, little sister Tia, and triceratops bestie Kai as they tackle kid-shaped problems with dino-sized solutions in space.

The series features: Cassian Swan-Mckee as Tim; Ace Gil as Tommy; Hope Delaney as Tia; and Jamie Smart as Kai. The voice cast also includes Stephen Alan Yorke, Nim Miller, Sophia Nomvete, Jessica Robinson, Alex Carter and Lorraine Bruce.

Created with a global audience in mind, the series blends humor, suspense, and everyday themes that kids can relate to. The 60×7’ series is set to premiere on Nickelodeon’s platforms worldwide and on Paramount-owned Channel 5 in the UK as part of its Milkshake! kids strand later this year.

Following the debut of its new Star Trek: Strange New Worlds x SpongeBob SquarePants promo video (which you can watch here), Paramount+ has dropped a behind-the-scenes blooper reel full of illogical, astro-nautical amusement.

Featuring a never-before-seen mashup of Star Trek and SpongeBob, the reel gives a fun peek behind the scenes at the filming of the spot starring Strange New Worlds cast members Ethan Peck (Spock), Anson Mount (Christopher Pike), and Celia Rose-Gooding (Nyota Uhura), who are joined on the Patrick Starship Enterprise by SpongeBob SquarePants, Sandy Cheeks, and Mr. Krabs. The new video pokes fun at the making of the short and features some funny moments where we see the creative stand-in solutions (including plushes and puppets) for the animated SpongeBob characters.

Nickelodeon's beloved Latina heroine Dora the Explorer made a triumph return in 2024 with the debut of her brand new series, DORA on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon, boasting an all-new look and new animation style, and soon fans will be able to bring the adventure home with the brand new DORA toy line from Spin Master, the global toy licensee for the series!

Expected to launch during Fall 2025, Spin Master's diverse DORA toy collection will include figures, dolls, playsets, vehicles, plush, roleplay, games and puzzles, inspired by Dora, her companion Boots and other beloved characters and locales they explore.

To celebrate the upcoming release of the all-new DORA toy range, Spin Master has unveiled a first look at two of their new DORA toys on the global children's entertainment company's official press website!

First up we have a look at the DORA Explore & Play Rainforest Casita playset. When opened, this immersive playset features 7 play areas that can be accessorized with the provided Dora and Boots figures and 8+ play pieces.

The Casita brings children hours of play as they go on their own adventures by sliding down the bright red slide, hanging from the vines and flower, swinging on the treetop swing, crossing the wobbly bridge, having a dance party with Boots and Dora, and even uncovering a surprise visit from Swiper. Luckily, you'll know just what to say to keep the crafty fox away: "Swiper, no swiping! Swiper, no swiping!"

IP and toy company Hasbro announced exciting Peppa Pig news on Friday, April 25: Mummy Pig is expecting a girl! A first-ever for Hasbro, the animated gender reveal was depicted in an exclusive episode of Peppa Pig Tales on Walmart's website.

In the Walmart exclusive episode, titled “Baby Balloon,” Peppa and George aren’t sure if they want a little brother or a little sister - or a dinosaur. But if they want to find out, they’ll have to catch the balloon that holds the answer! Unfortunately, the doctor has forgotten to include the vital information and needs to catch up with the rest of Peppatown to hand over the all-important letter.

Hasbro also hosted a party at the Peppa Pig store inside London’s Battersea Power Station on Friday, with character appearances, themed activities and specially decorated cupcakes. There was also fundraising in support of the NCT (National Children’s Trust), which is the official “Pregnancy and Parenting Charity Partner” for the brand in the UK.

The Battersea Power Station chimneys were lit up pink to reveal Mummy and Daddy Pig are expecting a baby girl – a little sister for Peppa, four and George, two.

Peppa's little sister will arrive in June, and audiences will get to see Peppa (and George) step into a bigger role with her new little sibling arriving in Season 11 later this year.

 A collection of new products that reflect the growing family will be available exclusively at Walmart and Walmart.com from Thursday, May 29 through Thursday, July 31. Select items available for pre-order beginning today include two Walmart exclusives — Oinks & Snuggles interactive baby doll and Peppa’s Dress Up Wardrobe— along with the Peppa’s Family Five Pack figure set. Following Peppa Pig‘s 20th anniversary celebration in 2024, the family expansion kicks off a new era in the brand’s evolution. The gender reveal continues momentum from Mummy Pig’s pregnancy announcement in February via an exclusive interview on the podcast Not Gonna Lie…with Kylie Kelce and entertainment content in March on Nickelodeon.

"As a big sister, Peppa Pig's relationship with little brother George has provided sweet moments throughout the years, as well as many important lessons about confidence and how to be a good sibling," Hasbro said in a news release. "As the new family dynamic develops, Peppa will have many opportunities to show George the ropes alongside viewers who may be adapting to changes and ‘big feelings’ in their own families."

Fans across the globe will first see the new family of five beginning May 30, as part of Peppa Pig’s ‘Peppa Meets the Baby Cinema Experience.’ In partnership with Trafalgar Releasing, the special event will feature 10 oinktastic new episodes, six brand new songs and music videos. Mummy Pig talks pregnancy, big feelings

Peppa Pig's mother first broke the news of her pregnancy in late February, sharing the "joyous baby news" in a podcast interview with Kylie Kelce, host of Not Gonna Lie, on Feb. 27. Peppa and her little brother George also made a cameo on Kelce's show.

"Mummy's on a call, you two. Sorry, where was I? Oh yes, the announcement," Mummy Pig said. "Well, I'm thrilled to say I'm pregnant. Baby #3 is due in the summer."

Kelce, also pregnant with her fourth daughter at the time, extended her congratulations and asked how Mummy Pig's other children, Peppa and George, were handling the news.

"In my experience, kids can have lots of different reactions to news like this," Kelce said.

Mummy Pig revealed that Peppa and George were taking "everything in their stride," telling Kelce that Peppa refers to her as an "even bigger mummy" and herself as an "even bigger sister."

Though Mummy Pig and her husband, Daddy Pig, experienced a "few big feelings" from both Peppa and George, they do have conversations and reassure them often. Mummy Pig was also feeling all the feels, telling Kelce she was excited, nervous, often a bit nauseous and couldn't go five minutes without needing to go to the restroom.

"It's an exciting change, but it is a big one," Mummy Pig said.

"The announcement of Mummy Pig's pregnancy aligns perfectly with the Kelce family's own joyful anticipation of a new arrival, making it a truly magical moment of parallel beginnings," Hasbro's news release stated.

Kelce welcomed her own bundle of joy, daughter Finnley, on March 30.

The third season of Nickelodeon's hit CG-animated Paramount+ Original preschool series, DORA, is set to premiere in July 2025! The launch of the new season will coincide with the Great Dora Fiesta.

The series stars Diana Zermeño as Dora; Asher Colton Spence as Boots; Anairis Quiñones as Map and The Fiesta Trio’s Armadillo; Marc Weiner as Swiper; Mike Smith Rivera as Papi; Maria Canals-Barrera as Abuela; Danny Burstein as Grumpy Old Troll and The Fiesta Trio’s Frog and Marmoset; Katarina Sky as Backpack; Donovan Monzon-Sanders as Tico; Tandi Fomukong as Isa; Quintún Muñoz as Benny; Chris Gifford as Big Red Chicken; and Kathleen Herles, the original voice of Dora the Explorer, as Mami. The series has already been greenlit through to season four, which will introduce viewers to new thematic elements, and making it one of the largest multi-season commitments in Nickelodeon's history.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Nickelodeon's beloved preschool property.

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an all-new original 2D animated series. All 12 episodes of the premiere season of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originally made their debut on Friday, August 9 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, and on Saturday, August 10 in the U.K. and Australia. The series also airs on Nickelodeon channels internationally. The first half of season one made their linear TV debut on Nickelodeon USA in February 2025.

From the universe of the Mutant Mayhem film, the all-new Paramount+ original series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles explores the adventures of everyone's favorite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey are faced with new threats and team up with old allies to survive both teenage life and villains lurking in the shadows of the Big Apple.

The series serves to bridge the time between the critically-acclaimed feature film Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, released in 2023, and its upcoming sequel, currently slated to be released in theaters on October 9, 2026. This will be accompanied by a comprehensive global marketing campaign by Paramount Consumer Products.

Reprising their roles from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem are Micah Abbey (Cousins for Life) as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. (The Chi) as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) as Leonardo, Brady Noon (Family Switch) as Raphael and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as April O'Neil.

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles guest stars include Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live) as Rod, a lazy rich kid who loves Mutants so much, he'll do everything in his power to become one, and Alanna Ubach (Ted) as Bishop, a brilliant inventor who believes mutants are the greatest danger to humanity and that all of them, including the Turtles, must be eliminated. Additional guest stars include:  Rose Byrne as Leatherhead; Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut; Post Malone as Ray Fillet; Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Pigeon Pete; Timothy Olyphant as Goldfin; Jillian Bell as Lee the Eel; and Danny Trejo as Mustang Sally.

The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Point Grey Pictures, who brought audiences last summer's smash-hit Paramount Pictures film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

Paramount+, on Monday, May 5, revealed the first look trailer for the highly anticipated original series NCIS: Tony & Ziva ahead of the trailer debuting on broadcast in that evening's season 22 finale of NCIS on CBS. The 10-episode series is the newest installment of the global NCIS franchise and will premiere this fall on Paramount+.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva picks up after Ziva’s supposed death when Tony left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Since then – and where we find them in NCIS: Tony & Ziva– Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.

(TSX: TOY) (www.spinmaster.com), a leading global children's entertainment company, announced today that PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, the upcoming third feature film in the blockbuster PAW Patrol franchise, has rounded out its cast with a host of fan-favorite stars, including Jameela Jamil, Terry Crews, Paris Hilton, Emmy® winners Snoop Dogg and Bill Nye, Meredith MacNeill, and PAW Patrol veteran Ron Pardo.

Also newly announced are several young talents including Henry Bolan as Ryder. Starring as the beloved PAW Patrol pups are Lucien Duncan-Reid and Nylan Parthipan, returning as Rubble and Zuma, respectively, joined by Carter Young as Marshall, Hayden Chemberlen as Rex, Rain Janjua as Chase, and William Desrosiers as Rocky. The new additions join a star-studded voice cast that already includes EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson and popular comedian Fortune Feimster, as well as Emmy nominee Mckenna Grace, who reprises her role as Skye.

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie follows the recent ten-year anniversary of the global smash hit franchise and one of the world's most popular preschool shows. Building on the success of its first two films, which together earned over $350 million at the global box office, the film sees the return of director Cal Brunker, who co-wrote alongside Bob Barlen. It is being produced by Spin Master Entertainment's Jennifer Dodge, Laura Clunie, and Toni Stevens with Spin Master Co-Founder Ronnen Harary as executive producer, in association with Nickelodeon Movies. The film will have an exclusive theatrical release on July 31, 2026, distributed by Paramount Pictures worldwide, excluding Canada where Elevation Pictures distributes.

In PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, after their ship gets caught in a mysterious storm, the PAW Patrol pups crash land on an uncharted tropical island filled with dinosaurs. They meet Rex, a pup who has been stranded on the island for years and has become an expert in all things dino-related. When the PAW Patrol's archrival, Humdinger, begins recklessly mining in hopes of exploiting the island for its natural resources, he inadvertently causes a huge, dormant volcano to erupt. The PAW Patrol pups are thrown into a series of high-stakes, dino-sized rescues bigger than anything they've done before, as they must stop Humdinger before everything on the island goes extinct.

SAG-AFTRA and Nickelodeon Reach a Tentative Agreement; National Board to Review

Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and Nickelodeon have reached a tentative agreement on terms for their 2025 SAG-AFTRA/Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Inc. Basic Cable Television Animation Agreement (“Nickelodeon Animation Agreement”).

The Nickelodeon Animation Agreement is the contract covering animated programs for Nickelodeon basic cable and Paramount + (The Loud House, Patrick Star Show, Kamp Koral, Rock Paper Scissors, Rugrats, Dora the Explorer, etc.). 

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland said, “I’d like to thank our hardworking negotiating committee for their dedication to their colleagues who provide their voice artistry to Nickelodeon’s programming. I’m especially pleased that Nickelodeon agreed to commonsense A.I. protections for voice actors.”

Chair of SAG-AFTRA’s Nickelodeon Animation Agreement Negotiating Committee David Jolliffe said, “We’re thrilled that productive bargaining has resulted in a very strong contract for voice actors that includes A.I. guideline enhancements that protect voice performers. There’s much to celebrate about this deal and we look forward to sending it to the Board for review.”

Among the highlights of the contract are: 

  • Pay increases worth over $3.25 million dollars in instant gains for members.
  • Retained higher Legacy rates.
  • Increased rates for Interstitials.
  • Increased promo tag rate to $93 per tag.
  • Special allocation of Health and Retirement contributions increase 75% to Health, 25% to Retirement.
  • New 25% premium for multitracking/sweetening.
  • Incorporate the updated Television Animation Agreement Made For New Media Sideletter, which includes 2023 SVOD budgets for animation, SVOD residuals improvements, a Success Bonus, new AVOD terms.
  • Increased clip use payments
  • Payment due date moved up to 5 business days.
  • Substantial artificial intelligence protections and gains for voice actors from the Television Animation Agreement, that will automatically conform to any updated provisions secured in upcoming negotiations on that contract. These A.I. protections include:
    • Specific language acknowledging that the term “voice actors” includes only humans and that acknowledges the importance of human voice acting.
    • Removal of the requirement that a digital replica must exclusively sound like the recognizable natural voice of an actor in order to be protected.
    • Language specifying that “employment-based digital replicas” need only be recognized and identifiable via contracts and other regular business documents, confirming that it was in fact the performer's voice used to make the replica.
    • Language specifying that “independently created digital replicas” need only sound like the “character voice” from which the replica was created.
    • Confirmation that if the voice actor’s performance is digitally altered into a foreign language, the voice actor shall be eligible for residuals based on the distribution of the foreign language version.
    • Language clarifying that when prompting a generative artificial intelligence system with a performer name or names, consent of those performers is required. The contract has removed the requirement, which exists in live action, that a “major facial feature” be included in the prompt with no substitute for that criterion.
    • The establishment of regular, mandatory artificial intelligence meetings with producers, which will include discussion of methods and systems to track the use of digital replicas.

The 2025 SAG-AFTRA/Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Inc. Basic Cable Television Animation Agreement is a three-year contract that will be considered for ratification by SAG-AFTRA’s National Board.

Paris, le 29 avril - NICKELODEON annonce le lancement de sa nouvelle série MES PARRAINS SONT MAGIQUES : UN NOUVEAU SOUHAIT, dès lundi 26 mai.

Hazel Wells, une petite fille de dix ans, joyeuse et créative, vient d'emménager avec ses parents dans la grande ville de Dimmadelphie. En plus d'être nouvelle en ville, c'est la première fois qu'elle se retrouve sans son grand frère, parti faire ses études à l'université. Ces grands changements la rendant peu sûre d'elle, Hazel peine à s'adapter à sa nouvelle vie. 

Tout bascule lorsque le couple aux cheveux roses et verts vivants à côté se révèle être Cosmo et Wanda, des Parrains Magiques déguisés, prêts à exaucer tous ses vœux ! Cependant, le duo, un peu rouillé, provoque des ratés dans ses souhaits, entraînant des situations chaotiques qu'ils devront résoudre tous les trois.

Fans across the globe will meet the latest addition to Peppa Pig’s family in cinemas on May 30th, and a trailer has been released to help build anticipation.

Peppa Meets the Baby Cinema Experience

Hasbro announced Peppa Pig’s Peppa Meets the Baby Cinema Experience earlier this year. The screenings will arrive in more than 2,600 cinemas across 14 countries from Friday 30th May this year. In partnership with Trafalgar Releasing, tickets for this cinema-exclusive release are available now at https://peppapigcinemaexperience.com.

Fans will be able to join Peppa Pig and her family at the cinema as they get ready for their biggest adventure yet: welcoming a new baby. The family has also decided the time is right to embark on a full house renovation and shop for a new car, as they make special memories together.

Audiences can celebrate the beginning of this new era of Peppa Pig at this big screen experience, which promises an hour of laughter, tears and loads of heartwarming moments. With ten new episodes, and six brand new songs and music videos, little ones are invited to dance and sing along with Peppa and her family and friends.

Mummy Pig’s announcement marked the beginning of a transformational era for the Peppa Pig brand that will continue with new content across entertainment and retail, as well as updated narratives for the next twenty years and beyond. Additional details, content, products and events showcasing the new family of five and this monumental change will roll out throughout the spring. The new baby’s gender has already been revealed, and now fans are eagerly awaiting news of the baby’s name and more.

Q1 2025 CONSOLIDATED RESULTS

Total company revenue decreased 6%, which included an 8 percentage point impact from CBS’s broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII in the year ago period. Excluding the Super Bowl comparison, Q1 revenue grew 2%. Total company advertising revenue decreased 19%, reflecting a 19 percentage point impact from CBS’s broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII in the year ago period. Excluding the comparison, Q1 advertising revenue was unchanged.

DIRECT-TO-CONSUMER

OVERVIEW

Bolstered by hit originals, post-theatrical releases, CBS primetime and sports, DTC carried its momentum into Q1, delivering strong revenue growth and improved profitability. Paramount+ once again ranked as a top three SVOD service in Original Series hours watched domestically, marking another record breaking quarter in viewership and engagement for the platform. Landman remained the #1 new streaming original series for the second straight quarter and joined 1923 as two of the top ten streaming originals in Q1. MobLand was the biggest global series premiere ever on Paramount+, and Yellowjackets’ premiere broke records in the quarter as the most streamed episode in the series’ history. Internationally, Yellowstone continues to be the #1 engagement and start driver. Pluto TV delivered its highest consumption by total hours both domestically and globally and reaches more countries than any other FAST service.

Q1 FINANCIALS

▪ DTC revenue increased 9% year-over-year. –DTC subscription revenue grew 16%, driven by subscriber growth for Paramount+.

–DTC advertising revenue decreased 9%, principally reflecting an 8% impact from the comparison against Super Bowl LVIII in the first quarter of 2024.

–Global viewing hours increased 31% year-over-year across Paramount+ and Pluto TV.

–Paramount+ revenue grew 16%, driven by year-over-year subscriber growth and improvements in churn.

TV MEDIA

OVERVIEW

CBS is poised to be the most-watched network in primetime for the 17th consecutive season, the longest winning streak on record. Including sports, CBS shows claimed 15 of the top 25 programs, such as Tracker and Matlock. Sports programming continued to attract audiences, most notably the AFC Championship Game on January 26 that averaged 57.4 million viewers, setting the all-time record for the AFC and the largest overall conference championship in 15 years. On cable, episodes of The Daily Show with host Jon Stewart averaged 1.3 million viewers per episode.

Q1 FINANCIALS

▪ TV Media revenue decreased 13% to $4.5 billion, including a 10% impact from the comparison against CBS’s broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII in the first quarter of 2024.

–Advertising revenue decreased 21% due to the Super Bowl. Excluding the Super Bowl, TV Media advertising revenue was flat.

–Affiliate and subscription revenue decreased 9%, driven principally by subscriber declines as well as the impact of recent renewals.

–Licensing and other revenue increased 4%.

 ▪ TV Media adjusted OIBDA decreased 36%, primarily reflecting the comparison against the broadcast of the Super Bowl, as well as the decline in affiliate revenue.


FILMED ENTERTAINMENT

OVERVIEW

Paramount Pictures delivered another quarter of revenue growth and improved profitability with the continued success of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and the #1 domestic debut of Novocaine at the box office. Gladiator II and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 were strong in home entertainment and streaming, driving acquisition on Paramount+ and ranking among the top-5 most-viewed movies in the platform’s history, with the former earning the distinction as the most-viewed film ever on Paramount+.

Q1 FINANCIALS

▪ Filmed Entertainment revenue increased 4% to $627 million.

–Theatrical revenue decreased 3% to $148 million. The first quarter of 2025 benefited from the continued success of the fourth quarter 2024 releases of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Gladiator II and the late first quarter 2025 release of Novocaine, while the first quarter of 2024 benefited from the releases of Bob Marley: One Love, Mean Girls and Miramax’s The Beekeeper.

–Licensing and other revenue increased 6%, driven primarily by higher home entertainment revenue from recent theatrical releases.

▪ Filmed Entertainment adjusted OIBDA increased $23 million, driven by the success of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

SKYDANCE TRANSACTIONS

Completion of the Skydance transactions is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The transactions are anticipated to close in the first half of 2025. Until then, Paramount continues to operate in the normal course of business.

Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for taking the time to join us for our first quarter 2025 earnings call. Joining me for today's discussion are Paramount's co-CEOs, Brian Robbins, Chris McCarthy, and George Cheeks, and our CFO, Naveen Chopra. Please note that in addition to our earnings release, we have trending schedules containing supplemental information available on our website.

Before we start, I want to remind you that certain statements made on this call are forward-looking statements that involve risks and uncertainties. These risks and uncertainties are discussed in more detail in our filings with the SEC. Some of today's financial remarks will focus on adjusted results.

Now, I will turn the call over to Chris.

Thanks Jamie and good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for joining us on our Q1 2025 earnings call. I'm Chris McCarthy and I'm joined here by my fellow co-CEOs George Cheeks and Brian Robbins.

I'll start by saying we are very pleased with our performance in the quarter. Our focused execution with high performing content drove strong results across the company. Total company revenue grew 2% year-over-year excluding the Super Bowl.

D2C OIBIDA improved nearly $180 million year-over-year and we generated $123 million of free cash flow. We're off to a good start for 2025 and important to note we have not seen a meaningful impact due to the dynamic macro environment.

That said, looking forward given the uncertainty, we are prioritizing key investments while taking incremental steps to streamline non content expenses. Now let's get into some of the highlights of Q1. Starting with D2C where we continue to focus on driving profitable growth.

Paramount+ ended the quarter with 79 million global subscribers, up 11% year-over-year, including 1.5 million new subscribers in the quarter. Global watch time per user increased up 17% year-over-year and churn improved 130 basis points year-over-year.

Taken together, Paramount+ revenue increased 16% year-over-year. Now this success was driven by our differentiated content strategy, a fewer, bigger breakthrough original series where we continue to see great momentum.

In the U.S. Paramount+ again had the second most top 10 SVOD originals for the quarter. That includes Landmine in 1923, which were our number one and two starts and engagement driver respectively.

Looking across both Q4 and Q1 combined, Paramount+ had 25% of the top 10 SVOD originals, second only to the market leader and two and a half times greater than the next closest competitor.

On the premium tier in the U.S. Dexter: Original Sin was the most streamed Showtime series ever and that was followed by Yellowjackets, which was the second most streamed Showtime series ever.

Now turning to international all of these series are delivering strong results. Combined with South Park and Yellowstone where we have these series exclusively. South Park continues to be a top starts driver and a top engagement driver and starting this July the series will be coming to Paramount+ in the U.S.

Now turning to Yellowstone, the series remains the number one-star driver and the number one engagement driver for us internationally and the momentum will continue as we expand the franchise with three new series. Starting with the Dutton Ranch which will premiere globally in Q4.

That's followed by the franchise's first procedural, The Marshals, premiering on CBS and next day on Paramount+ globally starting in Q1 of 2026. And later next year the anthology series will continue with the next chapter 1944.

Looking ahead, we have a great slate of returning hits and big new originals. Our new series MobLand premiered at the end of Q1, becoming Paramount+'s biggest global series launch ever. And today Criminal Minds: Evolution returned. Next week Showtime series The Chi premieres on the premium tier in the U.S.

Now the second half of the year will see more originals to maximize the impact of increased viewership, starting in July with South Park, followed by Dexter Resurrection, Showtime's biggest franchise returns with star Michael C. Hall and in August sees the first ever NCIS streaming extension with Tony & Ziva.

Followed by Taylor Sheridan's powerful slate of originals starting with Tulsa King in September, then Mayor of Kingstown in October. Last year's smash hit Landmine returns in November, plus the all-new Yellowstone franchise extensions the Dutton Ranch.

Now turning to Pluto TV, the service delivered its highest consumption ever with global viewing time up 26% year-over-year. Now monetization has been softer than expected due to the influx of supply.

We anticipate supply demand dynamics will stabilize over time and the continued increases in engagement on Paramount+ and Pluto will lead to improved monetization over time. Turning to D2C profitability, we've made great progress driven by subscriber growth, ARPU expansion and churn reduction combined with a disciplined approach to managing investment.

And as a result, we continue to expect Paramount+ domestic profitability for 2025 and now I'll turn it over to George.

George Cheeks

Thanks Chris. For TV Media, we continue to leverage our content investments in sports, news and entertainment across linear and streaming, with a focus on increasing cost efficiencies. On the revenue side, since early last year we've renewed key affiliate deals that secure revenue and support streaming growth.

This approach has contributed to the combination of affiliate and D2C subscription revenue, returning to growth on a total company basis in Q1. In advertising, we're leveraging our content portfolio with live sports being more valuable than ever.

In Q1 TV media advertising, excluding the super bowl was flat year-over-year. Powered by the NFL playoffs and March Madness. We recently kicked off our upfront dinners. We're once again highlighting the strength of our mass appeal programming paired with Paramount's unique set of broadcast, cable, theatrical and streaming platforms across free and pay.

Clients consistently remind us that in challenging markets there are few partners that provide the reach, brand safety and impact of the Paramount portfolio. CBS continues to deliver audiences at scale across sports and entertainment. The NCAA championship game averaged 18 million viewers, capping the most watched Final Four weekends since 2017.

The Masters Sunday broadcast scored nearly 13 million viewers, the largest final round of golf on any network in seven years. And CBS will win a record setting 17 consecutive season as the most watched broadcast network with eight of the top 10 shows.

CBS network audience grew 3% in the quarter compared to last year with the super bowl and was up 12% without the sports comp. At the same time, streaming of CBS primetime shows on paramount increased by 35%, another example of multi-platform strength.

According to Nielsen competitive data for all broadcast and streaming shows since October, CBS has six of the top 20 slots, second only to Netflix, with Tracker and Matlock ranking number four and number five respectively. This pipeline is poised to continue.

Yesterday we announced CBS's primetime schedule for the '25 '26 season. The new shows will include franchise expansions for FBI, Fire Country and Blue Bloods. And as Chris pointed out, CBS will premiere the first broadcast procedural drama from the Yellowstone universe.

And as always, we remain laser focused on efficiency with all our content investments, monetizing current and library programming across our platforms and through licensing. Brian?

Brian Robbins

Thanks George. In films entertainment, we are continuing our focus on delivering a slate with widespread audience appeal and one that balances investment across titles and drives downstream revenue.

The performance of the segment in Q1 was strong thanks to the major theatrical success of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, delivering box office sales of nearly $500 million. A franchise best which continued to excel in both home entertainment and streaming.

Sonic 3 was a top acquisition driver on Paramount+ following its mid-February release and ranks as a top five movie on the service. Not only did our growing fan base come to the service for Sonic 3, but we also saw a nice lift for Sonic 2 and the Knuckles series on Paramount+.

Another huge win for us was the streaming performance of Gladiator 2, which became the number one movie in Paramount+ history. And speaking of powerhouse franchises, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning promises to be a global event with its premiere on May 23.

Mission continues to be instrumental in lifting the value of Paramount IP, permeating almost every line of business across the organization since the film franchise's inception nearly 30 years ago.

Holistically, we've built our slate this year to balance the scope and scale of a film like Mission Impossible with other titles that span genres and budget levels, which better positions the studio for profitability.

This includes Edgar Wright's The Running Man, a reboot of the comedy The Naked Gun starring Liam Neeson, and our family animation titles Smurfs and The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants.

With the goal of driving profitability we successfully reduced average production costs on Paramount pictures films by 35% over the last 24 months. All of this momentum across every aspect of our business is underpinned by our world class entertainment offerings across all of our verticals.

We have much to be excited about as we continue to advance the business. Every day our teams remain focused on execution, delivering hit series, blockbuster films and live sports to audiences around the world, and we're seeing that pay off.

We also remain on track to close our pending transaction with Skydance in the first half of this year. Now let me turn it over to Naveen to provide more details on the financials. Naveen?

Naveen Chopra

Thank you, Brian. Good afternoon, everyone. In Q1, Paramount generated total company revenue of $7.2 billion and adjusted OIBDA of $688 million. Adjusted OIBDA reflects year-over-year improvements in D2C and filmed entertainment, while results at TV media were heavily impacted by the comparison to last year's Super Bowl.

Free cash flow was $123 million, including $108 million in payments for restructuring and other initiatives. Now let's turn to our operating segment results starting with Direct to Consumer.

In Q1, D2C continued to deliver healthy top line growth, up 9% year-over-year to $2 billion. Subscription revenue grew 16%, driven by Paramount+ but was somewhat offset by a 9% decline in D2C advertising revenue, which includes an 800-basis point headwind from the comparison to last year's Super Bowl.

Excluding this comparison, DTC advertising was down 1%, largely due to increased supply in digital video. This disproportionately affected Pluto TV, which has the greatest exposure to the indirect marketplace.

Despite the advertising headwinds, D2C OIBDA improved by $177 million to a loss of $109 million through a combination of healthy subscription revenue growth and continued expense management.

Turning to TV media, Q1 revenue and OIBDA trends reflect the comparison to CBS's broadcast of the super bowl last year. TV media advertising revenue, excluding the super bowl was flat year-over-year and we saw improvement compared to the underlying trends in Q4.

Linear advertising in the quarter benefited from continued strength in sports, including strong demand for the NFL playoffs and the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Affiliate revenue declined 8.6% in the quarter, principally as a result of subscriber declines as well as the impact of recent renewals.

TV Media OIBDA was $922 million in the quarter. Expenses declined 4% year-over-year, primarily driven by the comparison to the Super Bowl. We remain highly focused on delivering incremental cost efficiencies and maximizing earnings in our TV media business.

In film entertainment, we generated revenue of $627 million, up 4% year-over-year and OIBDA of $20 million, which compares to a loss of $3 million in the year ago quarter. Our Q1 results primarily benefited from the success of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which was released late in Q4.

Now let me provide some color on Q2, starting with linear advertising where sports demand continues to be robust. Although consistent with prior years, Q2 results will reflect a lower volume of sports versus Q1.

In digital advertising we expect trends in Q2 to look similar to the underlying trends in Q1. At Paramount+, we continue to expect healthy revenue growth driven by an acceleration in ARPU consistent with our plan to achieve domestic P+ profitability this year.

Additionally, the combination of our traditional and streaming businesses will again yield net growth in total company, affiliate and subscription revenue, a key indicator of our ongoing transition to streaming.

Q2 subscribers will decline given the combination of content seasonality and the termination of an international hard bundle partnership. In film, we expect strong revenue contribution from the release of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.

However, given the timing of marketing spend for the film, we anticipate that the segment will generate an OIBDA loss for the quarter. In terms of free cash flow, we expect Q2 to look similar to last year, including cash restructuring payments of approximately $100 million. Looking further ahead, our priorities for the full year have not changed.

We continue to expect to deliver Paramount+ domestic profitability for 2025. We're also working toward the full year OIBDA and free cash flow outlook we provided on our Q4 call. Though growing macroeconomic uncertainty, particularly in advertising, has the potential to impact our results later in the year.

In the meantime, we continue to proactively manage spend while prioritizing investment in key growth initiatives. Coming into 2025, we have continued driving D2C growth and significant improvements to profitability, leveraging the powerful reach of broadcast while capturing cost efficiencies and maximizing the value of our deep library and iconic IP.

Although we are operating in a dynamic macro environment, the progress we've made on our strategic priorities combined with focused execution and some of the industry's most compelling and enduring content, positions Paramount Global for the long-term.

Thank you. Just first on advertising, interesting comment you made on Pluto and digital advertising and some of the pressure there. I think, Chris, you said that you expect that that pricing pressure might abate over time? So I'm just wondering if you're seeing that yet. Is it firming up?

There's a lot of new digital inventory coming to market from a variety of platforms, so just wanted to see if that's a trend you have line of sight on yet? And then separately maybe for George. So the FCC's been pretty vocal about some things it wants to do with affiliates and talking about reverse comp.

I want to ask you to comment specifically on what the FCC may plan to do. But as you look at the reverse compensation contribution to your affiliate revenue, I think it's a little more than a billion dollars.

Is that something you think could have some pressure over time or, or do you think this is just a lot of noise and you'll be able to work around this and hold that line relatively flat? Thank you.

Chris McCarthy

Hey Steve, thanks for your question. This is Chris. I'll take the first part of that and then pass over to George to take the second piece of that. Listen, we're definitely pleased with our performance for the quarter. From the total ad sales perspective, broadcast really was significant.

CBS Sports and the stable hits really helped us to make up some for some softness in the digital space. Now as you know, last year there were some new entrants that came into the digital supply space which is impacting the volume of supply. Now we do definitely expect that that is going to balance out as supply demand dynamics will balance out.

We've yet to see that at this moment, but we're confident that that's going to happen. Now more importantly though, Steve, we are very pleased with the engagement that we continue to drive at both Paramount+ and Pluto.

At the end of the day this is a hits driven business and our hit volume and hit content continues to drive more and more engagement and over time we are definitely confident that that will turn into increased monetization.

George Cheeks

Great. Hi, it's George. So, look Steve, the relationship between CBS and our affiliate partners is really a mutually beneficial one. We provide valuable content and our affiliates provide scale distribution.

We're investing heavily in must have live sports and the most watched primetime entertainment schedule. Now if this dynamic were to change, it would be difficult for us to continue to foot that bill and in that case the affiliates and local viewers, they would be harmed.

So we have a strong record of securing partnerships with all our station groups including renewing 60 CBS affiliates over the past year alone. So I think that will continue.

Thank you. Good afternoon, everyone. Can you help us think about the right balance in licensing your library and some of these new original content to third party streamers versus keeping the content exclusively for Paramount+.

Just curious if an arms dealer licensing strategy is still able to command the strong economics that it once did? And then maybe if I can shift over to sports given the success of sports driving the strong viewership that you talked about on CBS.

Just interested in your current thoughts on bidding for more sports rights like ESPN's MLB package or the UFC package that's in the marketplace now. How do you differentiate between must have and nice to have? Thank you.

Brian Robbins

Hey Robert, this is Brian. I'll take the licensing piece. You know, content licensing is a growth business for us. In particular our secondary licensing business. Our content is valuable and it drives demand for us. That said, we believe in using our most valuable IP to grow our owned and operated assets.

That doesn't mean we're not going to continue to license that product as well, maybe on a co exclusive basis or after it premieres on one of our owned and operated stations. But we believe that's the best path for our content.

Chris McCarthy

Great. Thanks. Robert, on the sports side, look, I believe we have a very robust sports portfolio. We've got core franchises, we feel very good about it, but we're always going to be open, opportunistic.

We'll continue to take a disciplined approach and our goal will always be to ensure that we have the optimal sports portfolio. We're always looking for sports rights that really matter and that really drive audience and scale.

Thanks. I guess this is probably for Naveen, but obviously interested in what everyone's take on it is. Naveen, you mentioned you expect another quarter of net subscription revenue growth in Q2, so streaming growing fast enough to offset the linear declines.

As you take a longer-term view, can you talk a little bit about the expectations you have for linear declines and streaming growth, the drivers behind those things? I'd be curious if you think what we're seeing in linear this year is unusual based on some of the renewals you had last year or if this is sort of normal trend?

And how you think about the drivers of D2C subscription revenue growth, you know, kind of longer term from the scale that you've achieved today with Paramount+? Thank you.

Naveen Chopra

Yes. Hey Ben, thanks for the question. So, you know, look on the linear side of the business, the two major drivers there are the rate of, call it pay tv, subscriber decline in the ecosystem more broadly and then the nature of the deals that we negotiate.

Certainly, the primary factor that is driving the revenue trend is the, excuse me, the subscriber decline. And I think that will likely continue to be the case. There has been some impact from deal renewals in the last couple quarters.

But if I look at the trends, for instance in Q1, you know, I don't expect major changes over the next few quarters there. So you know the net of what you're seeing in terms of sub declines and deal renewals, I think in Q1 is indicative of what we'll see over the next few quarters.

On the streaming side, the growth drivers there are very clear. It is continued subscriber growth. It is improvements in churn and ARPU which ultimately drive revenue growth. And given that it's largely a fixed cost business, the more we can scale that revenue, we see significant improvements in profitability similar to what you've seen over the course of both 2024 and continuing to move forward in 2025.

Thanks for taking the question. You know, Chris, I was watching your interview or read your interview the other day about Taylor Sheridan. And you know, I think the amount of times that you mentioned Taylor Sheridan between you and George earlier, it's obvious how important Taylor Sheridan is to Paramount's current and future.

I'm curious why you haven't sought to acquire 101 Studios to be fully vertically integrated with Taylor. 101 has been reportedly been for sale on and off for several years. I mean, I guess another way of asking the same question is like why is the current state of your relationship with Taylor Sheridan the optimal model for maximizing value for Paramount?

Chris McCarthy

Hey Rich, thanks for your question and thanks for reading the article. Listen, we absolutely value both of those parties. Let me first start though by saying that they're two separate entities, you know, Taylor and 101. Now Taylor is a very gifted and unique creative and Paramount has an exclusive with him through 2028 and we own all the IP that comes out of that.

You know, we have a great relationship with him, deep partnership that we built over time and it's working. You know, the results really speak for themselves and we're confident that that partnership and hits will continue. Now as it relates to 101, you know, they're absolutely a preferred partner.

We love working with them and David and what he and his team have built and so much so that we've invested in them. But we do like that. We like the relationship we have. We think the incentives are based on where they should be. And so we maintain, we plan to keep that current process and the current relationship as it is.

Now related to Taylor. He really helped us to learn some new models. He's a unique creative and we built a model that was uniquely around him as a farmer to forcing him through our structure.

Now we since used that as a playbook to bring in new creatives. And you know, Jez Butterworth is one of the most recent ones where we've seen great success with him with the agency and most recently with MobLand.

And you know, MobLand as we talked about, was the biggest global premier that we've had on Paramount+ to date. So, listen, we love the relationship with Taylor. We're welcoming in new creatives and we definitely will continue to use one on one as a pro preferred partner.

But we like the relationships we have today.

Thanks. Good afternoon. Obviously, a lot of industry attention on streaming, potential for bundling joint ventures, maybe M&A domestic, international maybe if you can just walk through the different types of combinations and the pros and cons of how you think about your desire or interest in participating in some of those versus a do nothing?

Chris McCarthy

Hey Rick, how you doing? It's Chris again. Happy to take that question. Listen, we're very happy with the success that we've had to date. We only launched just a few years ago and we're already up to nearly 80 million global subs right now.

Revenue this quarter up 16%. So real momentum. We're seeing great engagement growth, really good, solid improvement in churn. And listen, all of that is driven by our hits and we have a powerful combination between the CBS primetime slate sports and our originals on streaming, where we really are in a class of our own.

So we feel great about the momentum. We're just on the cusp of Paramount+ domestic profitability, so we feel really good. Now listen, that said, we're always going to take an opportunistic look at different opportunities, whether that's bundling, whether that's doing something maybe more deeper with a partner.

Certainly nothing to announce today, but I can say that we are big fans of bundles. In fact, we were some of the early movers. But it's important that when we look at bundles we do that at a very incremental audience point of view.

So particularly when they're harder to secure. So you take something like what we did with Walmart, which has been and continues to be a great partnership for us, or whether we bundle with hard bundle internationally with some great partners to get some distribution.

You know, we'll continue to look at all types of bundles, but really going to take an opportunistic look at that at really what's going to drive the most value and what's going to accelerate our plans.

The TV media were well ahead of expectations and above the core trends you saw last quarter. Maybe you could talk about what drove the upside there in the quarter and maybe look into Q2 I appreciate that sports ad inventory is sequentially lighter but separate to that, can you help us think about any current linear trends?

Especially as you head into the upfronts? Naveen, I just wanted to make sure in terms of the guidance for the full year on OIBDA and free cash flow, I just want to make sure that I didn't miss it that you're effectively reiterating the prior guidance? Thank you.

Chris McCarthy

Hey Kutgun, I'll take the first half of that question and then pass it over to Naveen for the second half. Listen, we're absolutely pleased with the performance that we had this quarter as it relates to revenue and certainly the strength of CBS and the broadcast slate 17 straight quarter in a row where they're number one and sports was really a big driver.

Now that helped us to make up for some softness in the digital landscape. And as Naveen talked about, we still have good solid sports in Q2, although a little lighter. So we continue to expect those trends to look very similar and in terms of how things are looking in the upfront.

Listen, we feel really good about the conversations and discussions that we've been having. I will note that scatter in this quarter is up double digits, which has always been a really interesting early indicator for us for the upfronts. So we're feeling really good.

Now listen, macro is certainly on people's mind, but everyone is giving us great feedback. We continue to hear good things, particularly around the unique set of assets and the volume of hits and the really strong sports portfolio. So, we feel pretty good. Naveen?

Naveen Chopra

Yes, thanks Chris. So, with respect to our comments on full year guidance, I think it's important to remember a few things. Number one, the fundamental drivers of earnings improvement that was built into our 2025 plan remain in place.

That includes significant improvements in B2C profitability that take advantage of the improvements in churn in ARPU and sub revenue growth that we highlighted. It includes the ongoing non content expense reductions that we're making across the company and it includes finding ways to get more leverage from those content investments across all the dimensions of our business.

Linear, Spirit, streaming, licensing, theatrical and you heard a number of examples of that from the CEOs today. All that said, the macro environment is uniquely dynamic right now, and that does create some uncertainty which has the potential to impact revenue, primarily in advertising.

At the same time, we are pushing the pedal harder on expense reductions, but I think it's premature to try to quantify the impact of that on earnings and cash flow until we have more clarity on how all the macro stuff will unfold.

CBS, which is on track to win its 17th consecutive season as the most-watched network, today announced its 2025-2026 primetime programming lineup of CBS Originals, featuring one new comedy, four action-packed dramas, three unscripted series, 18 returning series, sports and special event programming. It also revealed new series orders for Y: MARSHALS and HARLAN COBEN’S FINAL TWIST.

The 2025-2026 schedule reflects significant programming moves:

  • Mondays launch a powerful new Dick Wolf drama block from 9:00-11:00 PM with FBI and CIA and offbeat new comedy DMV at 8:30 PM.

  • Tuesdays introduce the first-ever all NCIS night featuring the #1 global franchise from 8:00-11:00 PM.

Wednesdays add two big names for midseason and spring with HARLAN COBEN’S FINAL TWIST true-crime series and Padma Lakshmi’s cooking competition series AMERICA’S CULINARY CUP airing after the highly anticipated SURVIVOR 50.

EINSTEIN is a drama with comedic undertones starring Matthew Gray Gubler as Lew Einstein. Brilliant but directionless, the great-grandson of Albert Einstein spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor until his bad boy antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective solve the most puzzling cases.

EINSTEIN is executive produced by Andy Breckman, Randy Zisk, Tariq Jalil, Rose Hughes, Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia and Laura Beetz for CBS Studios and will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
