Spongebob Squarepants fan wins Nickelodeon UK and Character World design competition
Challenge was to design a Spongebob duvet set.
A ten year old Spongebob Squarepants super fans has won a competition to design his own Spongebob duvet set - in association with Nickelodeon UK and Character World.
James Dent from Cirencester beat hundreds to win the competition advertised in Argos, by designing a summer-themed Spongebob duvet. He is now working with professional product designers at Character World to bring his design to life for an exclusive, one of a kind duvet.
"James was a worthy winner, as he really brought Spongebob's fun character to life, with his surfing design," said Marianne James, VP of consumer products, UK & Ireland and European retail sales and marketing at Nickelodeon. "The competition was created to give kids the chance to put their own stamp on a much loved character and we were blown away by the quality of all the entries we received."
Tim Kilby, brand director at Character World, added: "Congratulations to James. Hopefully this will be the start of a career in design for him. He has been invited to our headquarters to experience how we design and produce a range of licensed bedroom accessories. We hope to inspire him creatively."
