The Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association (ASTRA) has announced the aweslime Nickelodeon News that Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand, the Australian and Kiwi version of the popular children's channel, won two ASTRA Awards at the 2013 ASTRA Awards, which was held on Thursday 25th July 2013 at Sydney Theatre in Sydney, New South Wales (NSW), Australia!
Nickelodeon Australia's inaugural "SLIMEFEST" event, "SLIMEFEST 2012", Australia's first music festival just for kids, tweens and teenagers, which, hosted by Luke and Wyatt (also known as Luke Ryan and Wyatt Nixon-Lloyd), combined all the best bits from the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards with Australian celebrities, and of course, lots and lots of Nickelodeon's world famous SLIME, won the ASTRA Award for "Most Outstanding Music Program or Coverage", and Nick Jr. Channel Australia's new locally produced music-themed short-form preschool puppet series "Didi and B", which stars a two best friends - a optimistic butterfly and a friendly spelling bee - which, from their garden world of learning, aim to help kids wake up, have lunch and go to bed, and features episodes with topics such as the alphabet and days of the week, won the ASTRA Award for "Most Outstanding Children’s Program or Event"!
