Country music superstar and coach panelist on NBC's The Voice Blake Shelton is known to crack some good jokes, but there's one girl who's just not that into him: Grumpy Cat!

In Nickelodeon's latest brand-new promo for the 2016 Kids' Choice Awards, the "Sangria" singer, who's hosting the show this year, attempts to win a smile from the famous feline to no avail.

To be fair, the duo start off on the wrong foot. "I gotta say, it is so cool meeting you Mr. Grumpy Cat. It's like a dream come true, really," says Shelton, without realizing that Grumpy's actually female!

Attempting to smooth things over, the singer cracks a few Cat puns. "I think it's fair to call myself a Hunger Games super fan. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about Grumpy Cat... niss," says Shelton, who's nominated for favorite male singer. Grumpy Cat is also a nominee in the 2016 Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards - she's been nominated for UK Favourite Celebrity Animal!

To see how she responds, watch the video below:

It's not easy making Grumpy Cat smile, but our KCA host, Blake Shelton, sure came close! Catch more Blake (and maybe a few more awesome cat puns) during the Kids’ Choice Awards on March 12 at 8pm/7c
