Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Northern Europe will be continuing the global roll-out of Nickelodeon's award-winning Nick Play app with the launch of the Nickelodeon app in Poland (Polska), Sweden (Sverige), Norway (Norge) and Denmark (Danmark) this Spring!
The quartet of new launches will take Nick Play (formerly the Nick App) into 41 international markets with notable recent launches including in Australia and with OSN in the MENA region.
The interactive app features full-length episodes of hit Nickelodeon shows, original short-form videos, exclusive games and behind the scenes footage, with new content added daily. The Nick App has a moveable tile layout that can be swiped in any direction, promoting discovery and exploration and offers kids instant and on-demand access to Nickelodeon-themed content. Kids can also 'favourite' their favorite videos and watch them whenever they want.
The goal of the app is to go beyond free video viewing, and instead offer more interactive content not seen on television - whenever and wherever the user wants it. As a result, it was honoured with a Creative Arts Emmy in the Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media category in September 2013, as well as a Broadcast Digital Award in 2014 and a Meffy Sector Award in 2015.
Nick Play is available for iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Following its launch in 2013, Nick Play has been downloaded and installed four million times to date.
