Nickelodeon megastar SpongeBob SquarePants and a group of football mascots have smashed a Guinness World Record to celebrate the launch of Nickelodeon UK's brand-new football series "Nick Kicks"!

Held on Tuesday 26th January 2016 at Alexandra Palace in London, SpongeBob SquarePants joined 15 mascots from The Football League to help Nickelodeon UK archive the Guinness World Records title for "The most football (soccer) penalty kicks scored by a team of mascots in 1 minute"!
Among The Football League mascots who took part in the record-breaking attempt were Rammie (Derby FC), Captain Blade (Sheffield United), Nelson the Dog (Portsmouth), Happy Harry (Luton), Billy the Badger (Fulham) and Robin & Valiant Knight (Charlton Athletic).

Nickelodeon UK was awarded the prestigious accolade by Mark McKinley, Records Manager at Guinness World Records.

Nickelodeon UK is Officially Amazing! Nickelodeon UK's Guinness World Records Record Holder certificate for the most football (soccer) penalty kicks scored by a team of mascots in 1 minute, achieved on Nick Kicks at Alexandra Palace in London, UK!
"Nick Kicks" is a brand-new live-action football programme which will cover all 72 clubs of the Football League.
Premiering on Nicktoons UK and Ireland at 8:00am on Saturday 6th February 2016, the 22-minute programme will run for 18 episodes ending on Saturday 4th June 2016. In addition to covering the remainder of the 2015/16 season, the series will air across the entirety of the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons. In total, Nickelodeon UK & Ireland has committed to producing over 100 episodes of the series across the three seasons!
Featuring highlights of Football League matches filmed, edited and delivered by ITN Productions, "Nick Kicks" is produced by the Nickelodeon UK production team. The production of "Nick Kicks" follows the broadcast deal struck between The Football League and Viacom International Media Network's (VIMN) Channel 5.
Produced in association with the Football League Trust, each episode of "Nick Kicks" will feature highlights across Championship, League 1 and League 2 matches. These clip packages will feature highlights from the week's football as well as the more humorous moments from the week and a look ahead to upcoming games. In addition to the packages, "Nick Kicks" will take viewers behind the scenes of the Football League with visits to local clubs. Kids will be given a chance to experience what it is like to be a football manager or player for the day at their favourite clubs as well as being given the opportunity to interview players and staff.
Nickelodeon superstar SpongeBob SquarePants will also play a part in the series as he takes on various club mascots in weekly challenges.
Roman Kemp and Rachel Stringer have been signed as presenters for "Nick Kicks". A popular YouTube personality and Capital FM presenter, Roman is an avid football fan and started the YouTube channel, "Pitch Invasion TV" in 2013. Rachel Stringer is a sports presenter working on BT Sports with previous experience working on "Match of the Day Kickabout".
"Nick Kicks" is supported with a dedicated page on the official Nicktoons UK website at nicktoons.co.uk/nickkicks. Short video segments from the series as well as additional behind-the-scenes content, polls and quizzes will be available on the site along with an exclusive "Nick Kicks" game. "Nick Kicks" content will also feature on Nickelodeon's award-winning Nick Play app available on Android and iOS devices.
