New year, new toons! Nickelodeon UK and Ireland has unveiled the latest batch of freshly selected "Short Toons" on their official Nicktoons website and award-winning Nick Play app!
What could be better than even more side-splittingly funny cartoons, online and free whenever you fancy a chuckle?
Covering topics as varied as video games, zombie siblings and port-a-loo-loving Meerkats, developed shorts from the 2013 edition of Nickelodeon's world renowned Global Animated Shorts Programme are currently rolling out on nicktoons.co.uk and Nick Play App. Four of the funniest shorts will be available to view at any one time and, on the Nicktoons site, viewers will be able to show their appreciation for the creative work by selecting the "vote" button.
The current shorts available to view are:
Bug Salad, created by Carl Faruolo
Scott the Worm tries to be a good influence on his bug buddy Winston in the garden neighborhood...even when Winston makes some dangerous choices.
Earmouse and Bottle, created by Brian Morante
Bottle learns courage when he and his scrappy friend Earmouse wreak havoc on the evil Wizard!
Broats, created by Jack Cusamano
No one wants to play with the Goats so these Broats come up with a great idea!
By Request Pizza, created by Arica Tuesday and Mick Ignis
If Petey was in charge, he would never make the same pizza twice!
"The Animated Shorts Program aims to discover, mentor and collaborate with exciting new talent in order to develop the best content for Nickelodeon," said Nina Hahn, Senior Vice President, International Production and Development, Nickelodeon. "These shorts all have the potential to be developed into a longer-form series so it is great to be able to share them with UK fans and, through the vote button, get a sense of what is popular with audiences."
The Global Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Program is open to creatives across the world. The 2016 edition of the initiative will launch in January 2016. More information is available at http://nickanimationstudio.com.
