The Society Of London Theatre has announced in a post on officiallondontheatre.co.uk the exciting news that as part of Kids Week 2013, a week dedicated to encouraging young people to experience the magic of live theatre, that a brand new live stage show featuring Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.'s megastar "Dora the Explorer", called "Dora The Explorer and The Tiger Who Came To Tea", will be one of the record 38 shows taking part in the annual event that will run throughout the whole of August 2013!
An official Cultural Olympiad event in 2012, as part of the London 2012 Festival, Kids Week has been giving children the opportunity to experience, and get involved with, West End theatre for a decade and a half, and is celebrating by extending the popular promotion to an entire month.
The feast of family fun offers one free child's ticket with every full paying adult to a host of incredible London shows, with an extra two children able to go at half price.
This year there is a bumper crop of productions to choose from, ranging from favourites such as Disney's "The Lion King" and "Billy Elliot The Musical" to new shows like "Top Hat","Drinking Orange Rain" "Singin' In The Rain" and this year's all-conquering, Olivier Award-dominating "Matilda The Musical". There are also shows aimed directly at younger audiences, such as "Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain" and Nickelodeon's very own "Dora The Explorer and The Tiger Who Came To Tea".
Kids Week is about far more than just free tickets! As part of SoLT's Kids Week initiative, there is also a host of workshops and activities available, allowing theatrical kids to throw themselves fully into West End life, from becoming a Munchkin at "The Wizard Of Oz" to a Q&A session with "Sweeney Todd".
