It's morphin' time!
Nickelodeon will premiere Power Rangers Dino Fury, the 28th season of the iconic long-running Power Rangers series on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. (ET/PT)! Following launch, new episodes will air Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nick.
In Power Rangers Dino Fury, when an army of powerful alien beings is unleashed on Earth threatening life as we know it, a brand-new team of Power Rangers, fueled by the pre-historic power of the dinosaurs, are recruited to deal with the threat!
In the season premiere, "Destination Dinohenge," Go-getting reporter Amelia accompanies Ollie and his mom, Dr. Akana, to investigate the mysterious Dinohenge statues. The run into an evil warrior named Void Knight and a threat that puts the entire world in danger. (#1101)
Then, in episode two, "Sporix Unleashed," airing Saturday, February 27, Ollie carries out a plan to catch Sporix without his teammates' knowledge. When monsters take advantage of his idea, Ollie realizes the benefit of working as a team. (#1101)
Power Rangers Dino Fury will star Russell Curry as Zayto (Red Ranger), Hunter Deno as Amelia (Pink Ranger), Kai Moya as Ollie (Blue Ranger), Tessa Rao as Izzy (Green Ranger; a genderswap from the Super Sentai counterpart) and Chance Perez as Javi (Black Ranger). The Blue Dino Fury ranger will have two sai’s, and the Pink Ranger will wield a mace.
Two "monsters of the day" the Dino Fury rangers will have to battle will be Doomsnake and Shockhorn.
Power Rangers Dino Fury will take footage from the Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger season of the Japanese Super Sentai series.
The latest season will see the return of the Dinozords, which have appeared periodically throughout the Power Rangers canon. Dino Fury is the fourth season to be based on dinosaurs, following in the footsteps of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Dino Thunder and Dino Charge. Its sister series Ryusoulger incorporated a knight motif into the dinosaur theme.
According to the trailer, which debuted during the Power Rangers Entertainment Panel at Hasbro PulseCon on Saturday, September 26, 2021, in Power Rangers Dino Fury, the aliens that have come to Earth are seeking the prehistoric power for themselves, and the new team of Power Rangers will have to use the Dinozords to prevent their power from falling into the wrong hands.
Trailer transcription: "65 million years ago an ancient force brought the power of the Morphin Grid to planet Earth. Now, the forces of evil have come to claim that power, and a group of heroes must rise up to meet this challenge. Harnessing the energy of the Morphin Grid with the prehistoric power of Dino Fury. They will unlock incredible new Morphers, Dino Powered Weapons, powerful new Zords, and astonishing new Megazords. In the tradition of dinosaur teams of the past comes a brand new entry, Power Rangers Dino Fury."
As with previous seasons, Power Rangers Dino Fury will transcend into the toy aisle, with action figures, morphers and Zords based on the show slated for release.
