Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures have released the first full trailer for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows", the Michael Bay-produced sequel to 2014's hit film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"! Booyakasha!:
Released on Wednesday 9th December 2015, not long after actor Stephen Amell teased 14 seconds of footage via his own Facebook page, the action-packed trailer, set to a remix of Run DMC's "It's Tricky," features the four iconic heroes in a half shell brothers, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo back in action after saving New York City residents from a deadly virus in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and exhibiting their trademark humor and fighting skills. Shredder (Brian Tee) is on another tear, and this time, he has two henchmen, fan-favorites Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (current WWE World Heavyweight Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly), to do his evil bidding. The trailer also features a first-look at the Ninja Turtles' Battlewagon, "Tartaruga Brothers", in action!
April O' Neil (Megan Fox) and her bumbling cameraman Vernon Fenwick (Will Arnett) also return as they once again attempt to help out the four brothers as they battle with Bebop and Rocksteady who were transformed into monstrous creatures by T.C.R.I scientist Baxter Stockman played by Tyler Perry. William Fichtner also reprises his role of Eric Sacks from the 2014 movie. Returning voice actors include Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Johnny Knoxville as Leonardo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello and Tony Shalhoub as Splinter.
Other newcomers for the sequel include "Arrow" star Stephen Amell as the hockey stick wielding vigilante Casey Jones, Brittany Ishibashi as Karai, and and J.J. Redick, along with a number of other players from the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks.
Laura Linney also makes an appearance in the trailer as new reporter Rebecca Vincent who jokingly asks the Turtles, "What are you? Superheros?"
At one point, when masked vigilante Casey Jones (Amell) tries to rescue April, Michelangelo gets protective and suspicious. "One question: Are you two guys, like, a thing?" he asks them.
"When something bad happens, you want to be with the Turtles" - Vernon Fenwick
General Krang, a commanding warlord in Dimension X in the popular "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" comic book series, is also rumoured to be making a appearance in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II". According to reports, the character will be rendered using CGI.
A car in the movie will also feature the license plate "Mirage84" as an Easter Egg, which is a reference to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" first appearing in Mirage Comics in 1984.
Directed by David Green and produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Galen Walker and Scott Mednick, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" opens in US theaters on Friday 3rd June 2016.
The sequel is anticipated to be another success, following the first film earning more than $493 million globally on a reported $125 million budget.
