The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has today, Monday 19th October 2015, announced the shortlist of films, television programmes and games for this year's BAFTA Kids Vote, the only categories voted for by children, at the 20th British Academy Children's Awards!
As part of the 2015 British Academy Children's Awards, Nickelodeon's "SpongeBob SquarePants" has been nominated for two BAFTA Kids Vote awards: in the Favourite Film category for Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Animation's hit theatrical film "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water", and in the Favourite TV Show category for favourite TV series!

From today until Saturday 21st November 2015, children aged seven to 14 can cast their votes at the new-look BAFTA Kids website – www.baftakids.org– which includes online challenges, competitions, and information on BAFTA's year-round events and initiatives that give families an insight into creative excellence within film, television and games, through behind-the-scenes roadshows, workshops and masterclasses, and special hospice screenings.
Helen Blakeman, Chair of the BAFTA Children's Committee said: "I'm very excited for this year's BAFTA Kids Vote – all to be launched on our brand new BAFTA Kids website. The shortlist showcases a huge range of high quality children's media. I can't wait to see who the audience votes for this year"
The nominations for the British Academy Children's Awards will be announced on Thursday 22 October 2015.
Winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony hosted by British actor, rapper, comedian and screenwriter Ben Smith, aka Doc Brown, at the Roundhouse in London on Sunday 22nd November 2015.
The BAFTA Kids Vote is the Academy's long-running audience award as voted for by children in three categories – Film, TV and Game – whose winners are revealed at the Children's Awards. Introduced in 1996, the Children's Awards celebrate talent from all areas of children's media including film, television, games and online. Categories include: Animation, Channel of the Year, Comedy, Drama, Entertainment, Factual, Feature Film, Game, Independent Production Company of the Year, Interactive - Adapted, Interactive - Original, International, Learning - Primary, Learning - Secondary, Performer, Pre-School Animation, Pre-School Live Action, Presenter, Short Form, Writer and the Special Award.
