'90s Nickelodeon kids! Our favorite 90’s comedy duo is back!
Following their epic surprise reunion on Jimmy Fallon, Nickelodeon megastars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are reportedly planning on working together again! Thompson's and Mitchell's respective careers had gone in different directions, and they showed little interest in rehashing the "All That" days, but the fan reception they received during their reunion must have given them a change of heart!
In the midst of promoting his latest Nickelodeon show "Game Shakers" on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", Fallon (much like he did with his "Saved By the Bell" reunion) takes a trip down memory lane to remember his time working at Good Burger for a truly magical seven minutes!
In the sketch, Kel reprises his role of Ed (now promoted to a supervisor role) and Jimmy plays his employee - two of the most bumbling fast food workers ever. Thompson returns as Lester Oaks, the hangry impatient construction worker who frequents Good Burger with no time for Ed's "good shake". Of course, it wouldn't be complete without Ed welcoming everyone into the shop by saying, "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger. Can I take your order?"! The "Good Burger" sketch also featured guest star Black Thought of the Roots.
Kel spoke to The Huffington Post on their recent comeback:
"From this, working together and talking about it and seeing reaction from the fans and how they were screaming, and seeing that the magic is still there, we're just like, 'Yeah, we gotta do some more stuff,' so you'll definitely see some more stuff. You'll definitely see something coming up.
I remember Kenan and I both walked to the hair and makeup room, and I saw [Ed's "Good Burger"] hair on the mannequin head. And it was just this moment that was like, 'Ahhhhh!' I put it on, and it was amazing."
In another interview with E! News, Mitchell said that the two had actually been waiting for an opportunity to work together again and this appearance on "The Tonight Show" was just perfect for a reunion: "We've been wanting to get back together," Mitchell told E!. "It was just about the right project...it felt like home.”
The unbelievable sketch made it look like their chemistry as a comedic team was still there and it quickly went viral. Over 4.2 million YouTube users have seen it already, so there clearly is an audience clamoring for more Kenan & Kel!
Mitchell didn't give any details on another project, but it is time to get that bottle of orange soda out! Between the sketch, Mitchell's role in "Game Shakers" and the launch of Nickelodeon's The Splat, it's a great time to be a fan of '90s Nick shows!
Kel recently delighted fans by performing the entire "Kenan & Kel" theme song in a video, and he still knew all the words by heart!
To refresh your memory, the theme song, "Aw, Here It Goes", was originally sung by Coolio, and it was the pinnacle of '90s jams. Here are a couple of fantastic pics from the video's shoot, taken way back in June 1996:

Almost 20 years later, Kel straight-up slayed the tune — he doesn’t even trip up once! Watch below and see how well YOU remember!:
If you need a refresher, here's the original theme song, in all its nostalgic glory!:
