Paramount Pictures has released (via Fandango) a brand new clip from their upcoming live-action Dora the Explorer movie, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, featuring our titular explorer along with her cousin Diego and their friends as they try to run away from some flying arrows. Check out the clip by hitting play on the video player below!
Dora’s going on her biggest adventure yet in Dora the Explorer, inspired by Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series Dora the Explorer, swinging into theatres across the U.S. from Friday, August 9! #DoraMovie
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
Tickets for Dora and the Lost City of Gold are available to purchase now!
To celebrate the brand-new movie, Nickelodeon has launched a Dora the Explorer-themed pop-up channel Dora TV on Pluto TV! Launched on Wednesday, July 17, Dora TV is airing episodes of Dora the Explorer 24/7. Nickelodeon’s animated adventure series (179 x 22-minutes) revolves around a young bilingual Latina who ventures through tropical settings and overcomes obstacles to reach her goals. Aimed at kids two to five, the preschool-skewing pop-up channel is the most recent addition to Pluto TV’s lineup since the streamer was acquired by Viacom earlier this year. The kidcaster announced its plans to launch branded channels on the network for its classic shows, including All That, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Fairly OddParents. Dora TV joins the Nickelodeon-branded Nick Pluto TV and Nick Jr. Pluto TV on the ad-supported free streaming service.
The Nick Jr. channel has also been treating fans with the premieres of new Dora the Explorer specials throughout July!
First launched in 2000, Dora the Explorer is now viewed by more than 100 million people in 150 countries and territories, according Pluto.
To further celebrate the movie, Nickelodeon and Paramount have launched the "What's In My Backpack" (#WhatsInMyBackpack) sweepstakes, in which fans can win awesome prizes, including: Herschel daypack, a Dora and the Lost City of Gold T-shirt, a Mini Maglite Pro LED Flashlight in Rose Gold, a pack of Yambas Plantain Chips with Chilli and Lime, and a Dora and the Lost City of Gold yo-yo! To enter, record yourself showing what you keep in your backpack, and upload it to Facebook (in this post), Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #DoraMovieGivaway! The contest closes Friday, August 9, 2019 at 8:59 a.m. (PT). Visit http://whatsinmybackpacksweeps.com/ for more information. Good luck! :)
