In January 2015, Nickelodeon UK unveiled Code-It!, a brand-new online experience designed to help kids explore the fundamentals of computer coding that complements the new national curriculum.

Through Code-It kids can manipulate a variety of popular Nickelodeon characters, including Nickelodeon megastars SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; animating them to move, change their expression, their size and much more. Providing 'how-to' videos and graduated levels of difficulty to encourage and challenge all users, Code-It has been designed to promote and support an understanding of coding syntax, employing a specially-created coding language that is aligned to commonly-used code. As users gain more confidence, taking on more complex coding tasks and animating more Nickelodeon characters, they will earn special rewards – badges visible to other Code-It users. More experienced coders can also write their own code in the Advanced Code Editor.
