Nickelodeon Picks Up New Comedy "Animal Rescue Show" From TV Executive Tracy Katsky

The entertainment news website Deadline.com is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon news in the following article that television executive Tracy Katsky has sold Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids and families, a brand-new multi-camera comedy series titled "Animal Rescue Show"!


The show centers on 12-year-old Taylor who has her life turned upside down when her single mother, in an attempt to "help" her make more friends, signs up their animal rescue facility as a place where her outrageous classmates can come work and receive community service hours for school. The series comes from writers Erika Keastle and Patrick McCarthy ("Good Luck Charlie").

The deal reunites WME-repped Katsky, a well respected development executive who is currently in a pod deal with Aaron Kaplan's Kapital Entertainment, with Nickelodeon, where she spent four years as the networks Senior Vice President (SVP) of Development & Original Programming:

Five months into her one-year pod deal with Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Tracy Katsky has sold six comedies to broadcast and kapitalcable networks, including a half-hour starring comedian Pete Correale at CBS and projects from Ajay Sahgal and Claudia Lonow. On the heels of their successful first selling season together, Katsky and Kaplan have extended their deal for a second year.

The pact with KatCo marked the first pod deal for Kapital Entertainment which has been making strides toward becoming a full-fledged studio that serves as an umbrella for independent production companies. It was followed by a similar agreement between Kapital and Sharon Horgan’s Merman Films.

On the cable side, Katsky has sold multi-camera comedy Animal Rescue Show to Nickelodeon, from writers Erika Keastle and Patrick McCarthy (Good Luck Charlie). The sales reunite WME-repped Katsky, a well respected development executive, with several of the networks she had previously worked for. She spent four years as SVP Development & Original Programming at Nickelodeon and also did stints as SVP Development for HBO Independent Prods, SVP and head of comedy for Fox and SVP and head of comedy for Regency TV. Before teaming with Kaplan, she was at Greg Daniels’ production company Deedle Dee Prods, where she worked on the upcoming NBC comedy series Mr. Robinson.
