To celebrate Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures upcoming brand-new "SpongeBob SquarePants" movie, "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water", Nick and Paramount have today, Tuesday 10th June 2014, released the first teaser poster for their all-new SBSP film, which you can view below! The poster appears to be for the UK audience, as the poster mentions that the movies' official website is SquarePantsMovie.co.uk, the UK version of the films official website:
The poster for "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water", along with the movies' tagline, "He's Leaving His World Behind", suggests that the movies main storyline will be about SpongeBob leaving his underwater home of Bikini Bottom to visit the world above sea level. The poster also suggests that "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" will feature a mix CG-animation and live-action footage, similar to "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie", which features a mix of 2D animation and live-action.
"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water", formally titled "Spongebob Squarepants 2", is directed by Paul Tibbit (writer and producer of Nickelodeon's hit original animated "SpongeBob SquarePants" television series) and written by "Kung Fu Panda 2" writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. No plot details are yet available, but Tom Kenny will reprise his voice role as the titular character, and many of the other characters from the animated series are expected to return as well, including Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, the great Clancy Brown as Mr Krabs, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy, and Mr Lawrence as Sheldon Plankton. They shall be joined by a live-action performance from Antonio Banderas, who is reportedly playing a pirate. Paramount Pictures will release the sequel in 3D in theaters everywhere next year on Friday 6th February 2015.
To compliment the movie, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures have also launched the official movies official UK website, SquarePantsMovie.co.uk, and the movies official USA and UK Facebook pages! SpongeBob fans in the USA can visit Facebook.com/SpongeBobMovie for the latest "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" news, whilst SpongeBob fans in the UK can find the latest news about "Sponge Out of Water" at Facebook.com/SpongeBobMovie.UK.
