Nickelodeon Releases New 'Loud House: Outta Control' Game on Apple Arcade

Apple Arcade added a new game to its catalog of over 100 games on Friday. Loud House: Outta Control features characters from Nickelodeon's hit animated series The Loud House. The game, like the show, centers around the zany adventures of 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and his 10 sisters -- Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa and Lily.


Help the siblings reach their goals and unlock new levels. Don't crash into each other or cause sibling rivalry fights, though -- a task more challenging that it might seem. The timer adds an extra level of mayhem as you direct Lincoln to his comic books or Lana to her mud pies. You'll get bonus points for beating the clock. Every floor of the Loud House has new challenges waiting and special items to collect.

The game is designed to make the player become "part of the family," according to Adrian Wright, Vice President (VP) of Games at Nickelodeon.

"Nickelodeon's Loud House: Outta Control celebrates what makes The Loud House great: Having fun surviving household chaos, generating laughs through characters and their relationships, and grounding gameplay in personal stakes," Wright said in a release.

A huge congratulations to Nickelodeon alums Cree Cicchino and Jaheem Toombs, who announced their engagement today, Valentine's Day, on Instagram! For the special occasion, Toombs bent down on one knee to propose in front of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland California!


"...now I’m in a whole new world with you ✨#isaidyes💍" Cicchino captioned a series of photos on her Instagram. Among the many fans congratulating the Game Shakers star were co-Nickelodeon stars such as Henry Danger's Riele Downs, who replied "omg!! 🤭 so happy for u 💋", and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn's Lizzy Greene, who asked "can i be the flower girl😭❤️" at their wedding, which Cicchino replied "absolutely🖤".

"But when I’m way up here, it’s crystal clear.....💍 @creecicchino #shesaidyes 😉" Toombs' captioned a set of photos on his Instagram. Among the many fans congratulating the 100 Things to Do Before High School star were School of Rock's Ricardo Hurtado, who replied saying "Congrats bro🙌🏻❤️", Henry Danger's Riele Downs, who replied saying "congrats 🥳👏🏾", and Star Fall's Siena Agudong, who replied saying "AWWWWW [...] CONGRATULATIONS".

Nickelodeon to Host Kids‘ Choice Awards 2020: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz at Europa-Park in Germany

Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland), Switzerland (Schweiz) and Austria (Österreich) are once again partnering with Europa-Park, Germany's largest amusement park, to host the third annual Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Nickelodeon GSA's localised version of Nickelodeon's 2020 Kids' Choice Awards!


Launched in 2018, Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz invites kids across Germany, Switzerland and Austria to vote and celebrate their local favourite stars from film, television, music and social media, with the winners receiving their Orange Blimp Awards at a super slimy event at Europa-Park in Rust in front of a audience of more than 1,000 children.

Hosted by Lisa & Lena for the second year in a row along with Jan Köppen (Ninja Warrior Germany), this years Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz will take place on Thursday 9th April 2020, and will give 2,800 kids the chance to see their favourite celebs walk the Orange Carpet and experience the slimiest party of the year!

As in 2018 and 2019, Nickelodeon is teaming up with MackMedia, Europa-Park's own production company, to film and produce a television special featuring all the slimy highlights from the show, which will air on Nickelodeon Deutschland, Nickelodeon Schweiz and Nickelodeon Österreich on Easter Sunday, 12th April 2020 at 19:00 Uhr.

Nickelodeon Deutschland, Nickelodeon Schweiz and Nickelodeon Österreich will also air the international edition of KCA 2020 on Monday, 23rd March 2020 at 19:00 Uhr!


Being hosted at Europa-Park allows Nickelodeon to take kid-favourite celebrities on the rides - and slimes - of their lives! In 2018, Henry Danger star Jace Norman and German model and a TV presenter Rebecca Mir took the "Roller Coaster Slime Challenge" on the Blue Fire Megacoaster, which culminated in a epic Nickelodeon sliming. This was followed in 2019 when singer-songwriter and Eurovision Song Contest winner Meyer-Landrut and German fashion model and television host Lena Gercke received Nickelodeon's highest honour on the Atlantica SuperSplash water ride. The newly opened indoor water park Rulantica could be the scene of this years epic sliming!

Among the many stars performing and making special appearances at Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz will be: The cast of Spotlight, the cast of Kartoffelsalat 3 - Das Musical, The Voice Kids 2020 - Coaches, Deine Freunde, Freshtorge, Julien Bam and Matthias Schweighöfer!

Heute startet der Kartenvorverkauf für die Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards 2020: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz im Europa-Park in Rust, Deutschlands größtem Freizeitpark. Kurz vor Ostern können wieder bis zu 2.800 Kids die coolste und slimigste Party des Jahres erleben. Tickets gibt es ab sofort hier.

Die lokale Version der weltweit größten Preisverleihung von und für Kids wird zum zweiten Mal von den Social-Media-Lieblingen Lisa & Lena, die unter anderem 15,2 Mio. Follower auf Instagram haben, moderiert – diesmal zusammen mit TV-Host Jan Köppen, bekannt durch Ninja Warrior Germany.

Die von Nickelodeon und MackMedia produzierte Show wird am Donnerstag, den 9. April, aufgezeichnet und am Ostersonntag, 12. April um 19:00 Uhr bei Nick gezeigt.

Und natürlich gibt es wieder spektakuläre Slimings. Es ist wieder KCA-Zeit! Wenige Wochen bevor rund ums Osterwochenende wieder die Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards: Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz stattfinden, steigt schon die große, slimige Party in Los Angeles: Dieses Jahr ist der mit drei Grammy® Awards ausgezeichnete Musiker Chance The Rapper Gastgeber der Nickelodeon Kids‘ Choice Awards am Sonntag, 22. März 2020.

Neben dieser News wurden am gestrigen Abend von Sängerin und YouTube-Star Annie LeBlanc und ihrer Schwester Hayley LeBlanc während eines Livestream-Events die diesjährigen Nominierten bekanntgegeben.

An der Spitze der Liste mit den meisten Nominierungen für die US-amerikanischen KCAs stehen: Avengers: Endgame mit 11 Nominierungen, Taylor Swift mit fünf Nominierungen und Die Eiskönigin 2, Henry Danger sowie Lil Nas X mit jeweils vier Nominierungen. Zu den erstmals Nominierten gehören: Tiffany Haddish, DaBaby, Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Lizzo und Megan Thee Stallion. De Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards: maandag 23 maart om 18.30 uur op Nickelodeon.


Grammy® Award-winnende superster Chance the Rapper presenteert dit jaar de Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2020, het grootste en slijmerigste feest van het jaar speciaal voor kinderen!

De awardshow vindt op zondag 22 maart plaats in het Forum in Inglewood, Californië. US, en is maandag 23 maart om 18:30 uur te zien op ViacomCBS zender Nickelodeon.

De bekendmaking van de host werd dit jaar aangekondigd door Annie LeBlanc en haar zus Hayley LeBlanc via een Kids’ Choice Awards nominatie-evenement op de YouTube, Instagram, Facebook en Twitter kanalen van Nickelodeon.

Asia - Feb. 14, 2020—Grammy® Award-winning superstar Chance the Rapper is set to host Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020, the biggest and slimiest awards show where kids are in control, airing in Asia on Wednesday, March 25 at 5pm (WIB) and 6pm (MY, PH).

Catch the replays on the following days:

· Thursday, March 26 at 3pm (WIB) and 4pm (MY, PH)

· Friday, March 27 at 7pm (WIB) and 8pm (MY, PH)

· Saturday, March 28 at 5.30pm (WIB) and 6.30pm (MY, PH)

The news, which also included this year’s nominees, was announced by Annie LeBlanc and her sister Hayley LeBlanc, stars of Nickelodeon’s digital competition show Annie vs. Hayley during a Kids’ Choice Awards nomination event across Nick’s YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter handles and channels.


With surprises at every turn, Chance the Rapper will bring his charisma and upbeat energy to the Kids’ Choice Awards, an epic celebration of kids’ favorite stars across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more. Viewers everywhere will be able to experience the show on all Nickelodeon screens and platforms, as Nick offers a front-row seat to slime, stunts and celebrities.

Said Chance the Rapper, “I’m honored to host this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards. I watched Nickelodeon growing up and now I get to slime some of my favorite people on stage. This is going to be a party that you won’t want to miss!”

Leading into the award show, Nickelodeon SlimeFest, a two-day family-friendly music festival, will make its west coast debut on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The event features performances by Nickelodeon star and YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa, breakout pop group Why Don’t We, Grammy® Award-nominated multiplatinum artist French Montana, viral chart-topper Blanco Brown and singer/ventriloquist Darci Lynne. This year’s Nickelodeon SlimeFest will feature a Sunday-only VIP ticket that includes access to a special performance viewing area, plus admission to Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020. All Sunday attendees will also have the opportunity to watch a livestream of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 on the festival screens.

Leading the pack with the most Kids’ Choice Awards nominations are: Avengers: Endgame, with 11 nominations; Taylor Swift, with five nominations; and Frozen 2, Henry Danger and Lil Nas X, with four nominations each. First-time nominees include: John Cena, DaBaby, Tiffany Haddish, Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion. With another nomination this year, Will Smith becomes the most nominated celebrity in Kids’ Choice Awards history, with a total of 29.

Beginning today, fans can cast votes on the official Kids’ Choice Awards website, www.KidsChoiceAwards.com, and on the Screens Up app on supported iPad, iPhone and Android devices in the U.S. International fans can cast votes through the Nick Play app in regions where it is available. Fans will also be able to cast their votes through social media on Twitter.

Chance the Rapper is no stranger to Nickelodeon, having made a surprise appearance at last year’s Nickelodeon SlimeFest in his hometown of Chicago and taking home a coveted Kids’ Choice Awards orange blimp for “Favorite Collaboration” (“No Brainer” by DJ Khaled, featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Quavo) in 2019. He was also nominated for “Favorite Song” (“I’m the One” by DJ Khaled, featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Quavo and Lil Wayne) in 2018.

В числе глобальных номинантов представлены Джастин Бибер ,Билли Айлиш , Бейонсе, Крис Эванс, Ариана Гранде, Дуэйн Джонсон , Тейлор Свифт, Lil Nas X и многие другие. Лидерами по количеству номинаций стали фильм «Мстители: Финал» (11 номинаций), певица Тейлор Свифт (5 номинаций), мультфильм «Холодное сердце 2», телесериал «Опасный Генри» и рэпер Lil Nas X (по 4 номинации у каждого). Вести церемонию награждения Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 в Лос-Анджелесе будет популярный хип-хоп исполнитель Chance the Rapper, который хорошо знаком с премией: в 2018 году он был номинирован за «Лучшую песню», а в прошлом стал победителем в категории «Лучший дуэт».

Это не единственная победа группы на Kids’ Choice Awards: в прошлом году их клип «Стикером» стал победителем в категории «Любимое музыкальное видео российских зрителей». «Мы очень рады и счастливы, что снова номинированы в этом году! Надеемся только на победу и поддержку наших фанов», – прокомментировали Open Kids.

Певица и блогер Катя Адушкина тоже стала обладательницей премии Kids’ Choice Awards в прошлом году, получив звание «Любимого российского музыкального блогера». В 2020 Катя борется за победу в новой для себя номинации и очень рассчитывает на своих поклонников: «Порой я смотрю на свою жизнь и мне с трудом верится, что это не сон. Я счастлива, что мои мечты с каждым днем становятся реальностью. Не так давно я начала заниматься вокалом с нуля, а сейчас меня уже номинируют на «Любимого музыкального исполнителя российских зрителей» в премии Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards! И спасибо всем тем, кто нашел меня в этом году, кому понравилось мое творчество, я это безумно ценю, это очень круто!» – благодарит своих поклонников юная звезда.

Instagram-знаменитость Katie Westwood известна своим неординарным внешним видом. Талантливая художница под ником Humid Peach выкладывает свои работы в Instagram и делится обучающими роликами на YouTube. «Когда я только узнала о номинации, то, конечно, на меня нахлынули невероятные эмоции. Очень круто, что такой крупный телеканал выдвинул меня на премию. Сразу хочется свернуть горы!» – делится Humid Peach.

Популярный YouTube-блогер Jane Kravitz снимает юмористические видео про знаменитостей. Ее пародии на известных личностей уже оценили 800 тысяч подписчиков, и девушка не планирует останавливаться на достигнутом. «Nickelodeon – это канал, с которым я провела всё своё детство, это мой весёлый друг. То, что я номинирована на KCA 2020 – это как прекрасный сон!» – комментирует Jane Kravitz.

Титул «Любимый российский музыкальный блогер» достанется человеку, который одновременно является популярным блогером и талантливым музыкантом. Среди номинантов – Милана, Артём Кей, Миша Смирнов и Кирилл Скрипник.

Девятилетняя Милана – видеоблогер, певица и звезда шоу «Один в один!» – самый юный номинант Kids’ Choice Awards в 2020 году. «Я расплакалась, когда узнала, что номинирована на звание «Любимого российского музыкального блогера». Это было очень неожиданно. Очень надеюсь на поддержку своих любимых подписчиков!», – сказала Милана.

Певец и блогер Артём Кондратьев известен публике под псевдонимом Артём Кей. На YouTube за жизнью молодого человека следит почти два миллиона поклонников. «Мне очень приятно участвовать в премии Kids’ Choice Awards. Знаю, что это событие одно из значимых в мире детского телевидения, уверен, что и в этом году будет топ! А номинация «Любимый российский музыкальный блогер» мотивирует делать ещё больше крутого контента для своей любимой аудитории», – делится Артём.

Шестнадцатилетний Миша Смирнов – обладатель уникального голоса, многократный победитель российских и международных конкурсов. В 2015 Миша представил Россию на «Детском Евровидении» и с тех пор записал десятки синглов и несколько сольных альбомов. «Спасибо Nickelodeon, я очень рад, что меня номинировали! Спасибо всем, кто приходил на мои концерты и слушал меня в этом году. Новая музыка будет очень скоро!» – прокомментировал Миша.

'SpongeBob SquarePants' Receives Two Nominations in 2020 Promax Europe Awards

Promax, the global association for the entertainment marketing industry, representing people who create, market, and distribute content in media, has announced the sponge-tastic news that Nickelodeon Southern & Western Europe, Middle East and Africa (SWEMEA) has been nominated for two awards in the 2020 Promax Europe Awards!


Both Nickelodeon SWEMEA's Happy Birthday Sponges Song by the Nickelodeon South creative team and SpongeBob & I Know It on Nicktoons by V Creative, ViacomCBS’s in-house creative team working across iconic brands including Nickelodeon, Paramount, MTV, Comedy Central and Channel 5 have been named as finalists in the Children's Programme Spots category of the 2020 Promax Europe Awards!

SpongeBob & I Know It on Nicktoons previously received the Silver award in the "Best Kids - Clip Based" category of the 2019 PromaxBDA UK Awards.

Winners of Promax Europe Awards 2020 will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on Tuesday 17th March 2020 at the Teatro Goya in Madrid, Spain.

Kenan Thompson Returns to Universal Studios, Where He Filmed 'All That', After 20 years; Talks Rebooting 'Kenan & Kel'

"It's crazy, crazy nostalgic," says the new Universal spokesperson, who found fame as a teenager on Nickelodeon's iconic ‘90’s sketch-comedy show All That.


Kenan Thompson is taking a walk down memory lane — all the way to his Nickelodeon days.

On Friday, the Saturday Night Live star, who joined forces with Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood for their new “Let Yourself Woah” campaign, spoke with PEOPLE about returning to Universal (the place where he kickstarted his career!) for the first time since he was 18, and the everyday “woah” moments the husband and father of two experiences in his own life.

“I’ve been involved with Universal my whole life. They were my very first job, and now it’s come back around that I’ve been given the opportunity to be the new spokesperson for their parks and resorts,” he says of why he joined the campaign, which is meant to showcase the range of emotions guests experience when visiting the thrill-filled theme parks.


As a child actor, he grew up, in part, at Nickelodeon Studios in the park. “I remember spending a lot of my childhood running back and forth between the rides and stuff when we were shooting All That and Kenan & Kel,” he says. “The place where I was getting dressed every morning was maybe 20 yards away from where I spent the first four or five years of my career, my very first job on television. It holds a really, really special place in my heart.”

But the comedian, 41, hasn’t been back in over twenty years. “It’s crazy, crazy nostalgic just seeing those roads leading up to Universal,” he says. “They’ve been a part of my life and family for a long time.”

Now, he’s taking his spokesperson duties seriously.

“The campaign is about just letting yourself experience all the good things here,” he says. “We want people to know that it’s a destination where people can let themselves be immersed in awesome attractions and rides and the beach resorts and all that — just come in and give themselves over to the great time that they paid for.”


Following the initial success of the original All That series, Thompson and Kel Mitchell went on to star in the kids’ sitcom Kenan & Kel that ran from 1996 to 2000, and Good Burger, a theatrical adaptation of the hit All That sketch. In June 2019, the duo launched Nickelodeon’s revamped All That, which featured a new cast of teens and the return of show originals Mitchell, Thompson, Lori Beth Denberg and Josh Server.

When it comes to rebooting Kenan & Kel, Thompson says he’d be game.

“I feel like we should just start doing stuff straight to YouTube ourselves, just like Kenan and Kel in reality,” he says. “That would be so much fun.”

Meanwhile, Thompson — who will be starring in his own sitcom, The Kenan Show, on NBC later this year — is the longest tenured cast member on SNL and doesn’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon.

“Retiring, probably not,” he jokes. “I don’t think any actor feels like they can retire. I feel like I’ve been blessed, and the way I’ve been able to go about it was with good training, especially that I got at Nickelodeon in Orlando at Universal. It’s just been like that’s my foundation in life, so when I got the call to work with them, it was just such a blessing and it made all the sense in the world.”

On top of his Universal family, Thompson is grateful for his own family and admits he has plenty of “woah” moments with his two girls: 5-year-old daughter Georgia Marie and 1-year-old daughter Gianna Michelle, whom he shares with wife Christina Evangeline.

“I mean, I don’t want to be vulgar, but it’s like, there are a lot of ‘woah’ diapers in the morning,” he says with a laugh. “And then whenever you let the baby just eat whatever, if it’s yogurt or something, she has a lot of experience throwing it around and smearing her face in it. So that’s usually pretty ‘woah’ funny.”

But when it comes to fatherhood, he wouldn’t change thing.

“I took all of what I was doing for myself and made it all about what I do for my family,” he says. “I’m way more focused on the actual effect that my work has on people. It’s not just for me.”

Universal Parks & Resorts have launched a new campaign featuring comedians Kenan Thompson and Arturo Castro called “Let Yourself Woah,” designed to show off the range of emotions guests experience when visiting Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

This new campaign encourages guests to immerse themselves in these “woah” moments, as they “embark on epic adventures that can’t be experienced anywhere else,” like riding on a motorbike through the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid, causing mischief with the Minions, or coming face-to-face with dinosaurs on Jurassic World – The Ride.

Thompson currently stars on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” and made his way to fame through the popular ’90s Nickelodeon shows “All That” and “Kenan & Kel” — which were both filmed on the Universal Orlando backlot. Castro created and stars in a hit comedy series, and took vacations to Universal’s parks growing up.

“‘Woah’ means to me exactly what these parks do for you on a daily basis – on every ride, it’s like ‘Woah!'” said Thompson. “Universal’s theme parks hold a special place in my heart and it’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown since I worked here as a teenager. And now to be a part of a campaign for one of my favorite experiences in life… it’s almost like someone asking you if they can provide you an awesome time – of course, I say ‘bring it on!'”

“It is so exciting for me to be able to capture that ‘Woah’ feeling I always felt as a kid,” said Castro. “I’ve been going to Universal since I was five years old, and bringing 25 of my family members to the parks last year was incredible! It’s our favorite place to visit, hands down.”

Netflix Acquires 'Thomas & Friends' in the US

The streamer has the rights to seasons 23 and 24 of Mattel Television's Thomas and Friends in the US, first dropping in March. The licensing rights, meanwhile, divert back to Mattel from Nickelodeon.

Netflix has picked up the streaming rights for Mattel Television’s Thomas and Friends in the US, Kidscreen has revealed. Season 23 will be available on the streamer in March 2020, followed by season 24 later this year.


The Mattel series moved over from PBS to Nick Jr. only two years ago. At the time Mattel and Nickelodeon signed a deal that all new seasons of the series would air on the preschool network and Nick would take over as the brand’s exclusive US licensing agent. Nickelodeon in the US will no longer air Thomas and Friends following this deal with Netflix. And the consumer products rights are now back with Mattel as the toy company continues to focus on building franchises.

Internationally, Netflix will have library episodes in Asia (Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam), Canada, Europe (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland), Latin America and the United Kingdom. Specific content availability dates will vary by market.

However, Mattel will continue to work with local broadcasters across the globe on a non-exclusive basis to air current seasons. Thomas & Friends currently airs on Milkshake! and Cartoonito in the U.K.

The 23rd season of Thomas consists of 20 x 11-minute eps and three 22-minute specials.

When the series first hit airwaves it was on PBS in 1989 as sequences on Shining Time Station. But it began as a standalone Thomas & Friends half-hour series in 2004 on PBS in the US and only left the pubcaster for Nickelodeon in 2018, ending nearly 30 years of programming on the American pubcaster.

Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for Mattel’s Thomas and Friends in the US.

Season 23 will be available on the streamer in March, followed by season 24 later this year.

The news was revealed during Mattel’s earnings call on Thursday. “Today, we are pleased to announce that Thomas and Friends, the iconic children’s series, will be available on Netflix in the United States starting this March,” Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz said.

The series launched in 1984 and aired on PBS until 2017 when Nickelodeon became Thomas and Friends’ network, carrying seasons 21, 22 and 23.

Netflix will offer select library episodes of Thomas and Friends internationally in Asia (Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam), Canada, Europe (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland), Latin America and the United Kingdom. Specific content availability dates will vary by market.

Mattel will also continue to work with broadcasters across the globe to air the current season of Thomas and Friends.

Netflix has been bolstering its kids animation slate in recent months, in part to fend off competition from Disney+. This week Netflix boarded Mighty Express, a new CG-animated series for pre-school children from the creator and producers of PAW Patrol.

Thomas & Friends is headed to streaming. Netflix will become the new U.S. TV home of the classic children’s animated series. The news was revealed during Mattel’s earnings calls Thursday.

“Today, we are pleased to announce that Thomas & Friends, the iconic children’s series, will be available on Netflix in the United States starting this March,” the company’s CEO Ynon Kreiz said.

The series about the talking tank engine launched in 1984 and aired on pubcaster PBS until 2017 when Nickelodeon signed a wide-ranging deal to become Thomas & Friends‘ network home and take over as the brand’s exclusive US licensing agent in various merchandising categories. (Those rights are now reverting to Mattel.)

Nick Jr. carried Seasons 21. 22 and 23 of Thomas & Friends, along with specials. Beginning in March, Season 23, which had aired on Nick Jr. last year, will be available on Netflix, with the new Season 24 launching on the service later this year.

Netflix has been ramping up its kids animation slate as it faces stiff competition from the new dominant player in the space, Disney+ and its extensive Disney/Pixar animation library. At Netflix, Mattel also has Masters of the Universe: Revelation series.

The Thomas & Friends’ library, which includes the first 22 seasons of the show, is currently not available for streaming in the U.S.

Season 23 of Thomas & Friends follows the famed blue engine as he travels to Italy and Brazil, making new friends, exploring new cultures and unearthing new discoveries. The season consists of 20 11-minute episodes. It also includes three 22-minute specials, Digs & Discoveries: All Tracks Lead to Rome, Digs & Discoveries: Mines of Mystery and Steam Team to the Rescue.

Thomas the Tank Engine was introduced 75 years ago by Reverend W. Awdry as stories for his son. The stories became an award-winning global franchise which includes toys, consumer products, apps, books, location-based entertainment, and video and audio content. The animated television program Thomas & Friends consists of more than 500 episodes and specials and has been licensed to air in 180 territories and in 54 different languages.

Composer and Sound Designer Katrina Zemrak has revealed the exciting on Twitter that the musician, along Ruth Nichols (aka RuthTRUMPETS) recently took part in a recording session to record music for a brand-new animated The Loud House short, and to celebrate, shared an awesome photo from the session, featuring a sneak peek from the short!


The scene featured in the photo looks like its in black-and-white, with Leni Loud wearing old-style detective clothing, which could mean that the short will be like a film noir.

Vaibhav Studios Unveils 'Train' Ident for Nickelodeon India to Celebrate Valentine's Day

Vaibhav Studios released a funny yet relatable video as a gift for Valentine’s Day! After its Samosa and Vada Pav rap ident for Nickelodeon India garnered a tremendous response on social media, the studio revealed its latest ident ‘Train’ to celebrate the day of love!


Produced by Vaibhav Studios, the new ‘Train’ ident is supercool and will resonate very well with audiences across the country, especially those who travel by train on a daily basis. The concept itself is a fresh one after its amazing stints with food items.

Commenting about the ident, Dapoon Rai Dewan, co-director and animator at Vaibhav Studios, told AnimationXpress: “For the next or upcoming idents, Nickelodeon wanted us to do something other than food animation. Hence we started brainstorming a few ideas and finally hit upon animating the letters from the logo itself. I personally wanted to do something on romance and was wondering if we could pair up the two N’s. Also because in the logo, the two N’s are at either ends of the word with the rest of the alphabets filling in, it seemed to me like the other letters had separated them from each other. Based on this basic idea, we brainstormed a few stories and somehow the local train concept clicked!”

The 32 second clip gives an interesting picture of how local train passengers struggle to find their feet on the train (quite literally), during peak hours which includes couples too. The animation is real, engaging and clearly shows the toil and passion behind executing the concept brilliantly.

The team at Vaibhav Studios usually lock the story first and then gets down to pre-production, followed by storyboard and animatic to have the basic flow of the film in mind. The characters are designed and the style of the animated film is finalised. Once the preproduction is locked, the characters and the sets are modeled in CGI and textured.

“We chose to go the minimalistic way with limited colour schemes so that our characters could stand out. The next stage is rigging, of the characters’ design and movement that includes a lot of to and fro between the animators and the riggers on nailing it down. They have done an excellent job in creating super flexible rigs for the main characters despite the limitations in their design. We also created a separate rig for N’s tube like shape during the dance and switched it with the main rig whenever required.


Once that is done, we get into animation. Here we animated the character on 2’s with quick snappy, cartoony movements. I must mention that the last shot was quite a challenge for us to get it right. With so many characters flushing inside a compact space, we wanted the feeling of being stuck inside a local train or bus with everyone stacked up against each other. The animators worked with the riggers to create blend shapes and even resorted to animating the vertices on every individual character to achieve that look, and lock the final frame of that shot. Then they animated the shot backwards.

After animation, the lighting artists step in to create the mood of the scene, and finally the shots are rendered and comped. I would also like to mention our music director Roto Shah who has single handedly done the entire background score and foley, and has done a tremendous job!,” further added Dewan about the process.

Nickelodeon to Premiere 'Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan' on Saturday, February 29, 2020

Nickelodeon will premiere Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, a brand-new live-action comedy series starring young rapper Dylan Gilmer, on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT)! The news was announced today in a trailer during the network's Young Dylan Takeover to celebrate President's Day, which will also see Dylan guest star and perform his new song "1234" on Nickelodeon's hit sketch comedy series All That on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

Executive produced, directed and written by Tyler Perry, Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, Young Dylan (Dylan Gilmer), an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced. When Dylan’s grandmother Viola (Wright) realizes raising her grandson is too much to take on, she decides to send him to live indefinitely with her affluent son Myles Wilson (Carl Anthony Payne II, Martin), his wife Yasmine (Mieko Hillman, Teen Wolf) and their two kids Rebecca (Celina Smith) and Charlie (Hero Hunter, The Purge).

The Wilson family household is soon turned upside down as lifestyles clash between rising hip hop star Young Dylan and his straight-laced cousins. From Dylan giving Rebecca and Charlie lessons in “swag” and street smarts, to learning that even “rappers” have rules in the Wilson house, the series follows the hilarious hijinks this family faces as they try to get on the same beat.

Michelle Sneed serves as Executive Producer along with Will Areu and Mark E. Swinton who serve as Producers of the series, which films at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

Nickelodeon’s partnership with Perry is part of his long-term pact with ViacomCBS, producing original series for BET Networks (The Oval and Sistas) and other ViacomCBS networks, with exclusive licensing rights on this programming. Additionally, Perry recently announced his joint venture with BET Networks for the new streaming video on demand service BET+.

Born and raised in Annapolis, MD, Gilmer is best known for his appearances and performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at NBA All-Star Weekend. He also has an overall talent deal with Telepictures, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Television. In 2019, Gilmer made a guest appearance on the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit sketch comedy series All That.

Young Dylan is performinghis new song "1234" on this Saturday’s episode of the Nickelodeon sketch series 'All That,' airing at 8:30 p.m. Also in the episode, the cast parodies the Song of the Year with “Bad Guys”; the Fart Fixer advertises a new way to relieve embarrassment; Bed, Bath and Beyoncé returns; and some familiar faces appear to be saved from their island. The episode features guest stars and original 'All That' cast members Lori Beth Denberg and Alisa Reyes.

Shot in front of a live studio audience, 'All That 'stars Ryan Alessi, Aria Brooks, Reece Caddell, Kate Godfrey, Gabrielle Nevaeh Green, Nathan Janak, Lex Lumpkin and Chinguun Sergelen. New episodes air Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Perry made a surprise visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Showlast October when Gilmer was a guest and announced that the young rapper would be starring in his own Nickelodeon show.

First Look: Young Dylan Performs New Song "1234” on 'All That'

Young Dylan is performing his new song “1234” on this Saturday’s episode of the Nickelodeon sketch series All That, and J-14 has unveiled an awesome first look! Make sure to check out the video below!:


Also in the episode, the cast parodies the Song of the Year with “Bad Guys,” the Fart Fixer advertises a new way to relieve embarrassment, Bed, Bath and Beyoncé returns and some familiar faces appear to be saved from their island. The episode even features guest appearances from original All That cast members Lori Beth Denberg and Alisa Reyes, who revive their beloved "The Island Girls" sketch.

Shot in front of a live studio audience, All That stars Ryan Alessi, Aria Brooks, Reece Caddell, Kate Godfrey, Gabrielle Nevaeh Green, Nathan Janak, Lex Lumpkin and Chinguun Sergelen. New episodes air Saturdays at 8:30 P.M. EST/PST on Nickelodeon USA.

Nickelodeon Now Casting for Families to Feature in 'The Crystal Maze' Season 2

Does your family have what it takes to conquer The Crystal Maze?


Following the success of Nickelodeon's The Crystal Maze, it seems the network has renewed the hit series for a second season, and are now casting families to be contestants on season two!

Nickelodeon's The Crystal Maze is an all-new version of the legendary UK hit series, featuring comedian/writer Adam Conover as the Maze Master, charged with guiding one family team through physical and mental challenges set within an elaborate labyrinth of four giant and immersive themed zones: Aztec, Eastern, Futuristic and Industrial.

In each episode, the youngest family member takes on the role of team Captain. The successful completion of escape-room style challenges are rewarded with a “time crystal” granting the family five seconds in the centerpiece final zone called the Crystal Dome. The more crystals gathered throughout the game, the more time each family has for a dramatic clock countdown challenge inside the iconic Dome for a chance to win up to $25,000.

A current ratings smash in the UK, The Crystal Maze has been a beloved family and cult favorite since the mid ‘90s, with the current global popularity of the escape room phenomena reigniting interest further. The show was recently rebooted to great success with celebrity, charity and family seasons in UK, Australia and beyond.


Season one features families from Houston, Texas; Scottsdale, Ariz; Lake Forest, Calif; Eastvale, Calif ; St. Augustine, Fla; Windemere, Fla; Chester, Va; Germantown, Tenn; Carollton, Texas; and Wheaton, Ill tackling a range of challenges in the maze for the first time ever for U.S. audiences.

For season two, Bunim/Murray Productions is now casting families of five from across the U.S. that include at least one adult and at least two children aged between 9-13 years old. Applicants must have a passport valid until December 2020 and be able to travel to the UK for filming by Friday, July 3, 2020. Child contestants must be at least 9 years old by June 2020. Applications should be completed by a participating parent or guardian.

Filming for Nickelodeon's The Crystal Maze will likely take place at the show's original set at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, England between mid-August and September 2020. Contestants will need to be available to the production for approximately 5-6 days during that time.

The U.S. edition of The Crystal Maze debuted on Friday, Jan. 24, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

Production on the first season of the new series (10 one-hour episodes) took place on the show's original set located at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, England during summer 2019.

Devised by Jacques Antoine, the UK version of The Crystal Maze was originally hosted by Richard O'Brien (Rocky Horror), followed by Ed Tudor-Pole. The reboot was originally presented by Stephen Merchant (for Stand Up To Cancer), and currently by Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd, Travel Man) with his "hand." The show's theme song is the legendary "Force Field", below. The show is currently filmed at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol.
